Her journey proves that belief, consistency, and heart can take you further than any perfect plan ever could.
00:02:14
Speaker
So Elizabeth, we're really excited to have you. Danielle. That was an amazing intro. And it's funny because I feel so lucky to be here and ah connect with you and your audience. This is so fun. thanks um display Thank you for sharing that.
00:02:29
Speaker
Yes, you're so welcome. Well, Elizabeth, I know you've had such a powerful journey. And know you know your past and where you've come from. So if you would like to enlighten our listeners, take us back to wherever part of life that you would like to kind of you know, show us what things were like before you became an entrepreneur.
00:02:48
Speaker
Yeah, for sure. So i had a pretty rough childhood. i was born, my mother was a drug addict and really struggled the majority of my childhood with addiction.
00:02:59
Speaker
We are reconciled now. And like, it's such a beautiful story, um one that I'll have to come back on and share, I'm sure. But um just that like, oh man, reconciliation and There's just such power behind that. But the majority of my childhood, I i grew up with my single father who um also struggled with some mental illness. He was a great dad, and had a lot of fun growing up. but um I liken him to like Peter Pan, but he just never returned from Never Never Land. And so I had a very fun childhood, but we were always um just so poor. And so I grew up homeless from second grade to eighth grade.
00:03:38
Speaker
We built a, what we called it, it was a teepee in the backwoods of, in you know, Northwest Indiana. Okay. And um so, i you know, I became a teacher later on in life and like we would...
00:03:52
Speaker
equate the lessons from my childhood to like STEM activities because, you know, I was learning how to wire a car battery to a light bulb and how to drill a red pitcher pump and learning how to chop wood and start a fire. Very, very young. I mean, second grade. And so um my life looked very different than everyone else's in that time.
00:04:14
Speaker
And, you know, when you're a kid, it's just like you're normal. You know, like I just it was just my normal. And um Like I said, my dad was very kind, he but he's just like a red burly bearded mountain man. Like he's just, and a total introvert, like, like hermit level, you know, and, um, but was my best friend growing up. And, um, so from second to eighth grade, we lived in this thing that we called a teepee, no running water, no electricity. Like it was, it was very off grid.
00:04:45
Speaker
And I went to school hungry and dirty and

From Teacher to Entrepreneur

00:04:47
Speaker
tired. And if it wasn't for, um you know, teachers who had extra snack drawers for me and um teachers who would give me the hand-me-downs of their children, like i you know, I would would my life would have looked a lot different. So I have a special place in my heart for educators because they do go above and beyond yeah the majority of the time.
00:05:09
Speaker
um And you know my dad was also very entrepreneurial. And so I remember in fourth grade, um going to him and being this nine-year-old who was like you know aware suddenly of her ah physical appearance and was like, hey, dad, I need clothes. No one goes to school you know in my pajamas anymore or these hand-me-downs. And And he's like, well, we don't have money. you know, what are you going to do about it?
00:05:33
Speaker
And it wasn't like, a like he was like legitimately asking me, like, um how are we going to solve this problem? And so we kind of brainstormed and I hopped on a bike and collected cans and, you know, bought my my school clothes that first day.
00:05:50
Speaker
you know, walked into that first day of fourth grade with just this confidence and that, and really that was, that experience was the spark that ignited in me this like love of entrepreneurship. it was the kind of the first taste, first taste for me of, um,
00:06:05
Speaker
you know, am the master of my destiny, you know, and I'm not dependent on somebody else for money. I'm not even dependent on my dad. And I know, um, there are a lot of authors, Mel Robbins being one that I adore. And she said at one point, you know, no one's coming to save you.
00:06:22
Speaker
and that was, that was my childhood. And so, um that really helped me, ah I guess, lean into grit and determination. And so,
00:06:34
Speaker
Anyways, I've kind of applied those same um skills to my entire life. And so I became a teacher, but yeah in teacher salary, we don't make a lot of money. And so was not, you know, paying the bills. And so I ended up um starting an online business in 2016. And it's kind of just grown into what it is now. So it's kind an origin story. Yeah.
00:06:55
Speaker
Yeah. No, I love it. We all come from somewhere and it really just tells us, you know, You never know where somebody has come from, just, you know, come out here being so successful. i've been following you for many years and then finally, you know, took the little leap and reached out to you a few months ago.
00:07:11
Speaker
And, you know, you just don't know. And so many people um just don't take the time to get to know somebody. So we really appreciate you just, you know, helping bring us all back down to the same ground level and be like, listen, we truly all do come from the same playing field.
00:07:26
Speaker
It's just how much do you want to put towards it and how much do you want to run and what do you want to learn? So it's very encouraging. So thank you for helping, you know, show us the way. Yeah. um we go So do you, can you remember like that changing point around 2020 or 2016?
00:07:41
Speaker
two thousand and sixteen Sorry that you were just like, you know what? really am capable of more. Yeah. You know, it's interesting, like from a young age, I think I've always had this optimism, but I think, I think that in my gut, I'm very much like if, you know, that type of person where like, if I, if I set out to do something, I'm going to do it, you know? And in 2016, I had started posting some digital teaching resources that I had made online and
00:08:15
Speaker
And my friend suggested this platform you know called pinterest Pinterest. And I was like, what is Pinterest? like You needed like an invite link you know to even get on the platform as you know a creator.
00:08:26
Speaker
And so she sent me this invite link. I got on Pinterest. I started blogging. But this was obviously before ChatGPT and AI. And i just I taught kindergarten for reason. I was terrible at writing. And so I was like, I don't know that this is for me. And she's like, well, you're really good on film. like That's what...
00:08:42
Speaker
you know what your strength is. So just lean into that. And so I was like, okay, well, I'm gonna start recording these silly little videos on YouTube and doing like classroom tours, you know, for my classroom and classroom management and sharing kind of best tips and strategies and stuff like that. And so I i started posting my digital products online and I had a sale ford four days after I posted my first digital lesson.
00:09:07
Speaker
It was this Jonah and the whale Bible lesson. And um i got this, like heard this little cha-ching on my phone and I walked over to my phone. i'm like, Oh my gosh, I sold $4. made $3 and 20 cents. It only took me 40 hours to make the lesson, but I made $3 and 20 cents.
00:09:23
Speaker
But four days after that, I got a picture from a woman in Africa using that lesson. Like the map, there was like a little matching activity that I'd created. And she was using that lesson with a five-year-old little boy on a dirt floor.
00:09:36
Speaker
And that was the

Building a Personal Brand

00:09:38
Speaker
moment that was my aha moment. And I get emotional every time I tell this story because, you know, ah for somebody who was unqualified, I mean, on every, so I mean, between my history and i had zero experience, I had zero followers. Like I was just this little pastor's wife tucked in, in a church, you know, in this little back kind you know country town in um And I was a nobody, you know, I was a nobody. and
00:10:09
Speaker
for me, I saw this as an opportunity to literally reach around the globe and reach into the lives of students. I'm going to cry. And bless the teachers, you know, be a blessing to teachers. And so that for me was very similar to the experience that I had when I was in fourth grade walking into that first day of school, just like with my clothes that I bought, you know.
00:10:35
Speaker
And that was just one of those aha moments of like, okay, I'm going to lean into this and I'm not going to quit. And so literally that, and it's interesting. I was just talking to my mentor yesterday and he was telling me that, you know, when you're in the online space, really building your brand is one of the most important things because from your brand can come so many other things. So like, because I've leaned into my brand and sharing what, you know, things and services or creating things and sharing those, anything, that's my trunk of my tree, right? And so anything that I share in the future, people are going to know, like, and trust because, so it doesn't matter if a company that I'm partnering with shuts down, it doesn't matter if things change or, you know, whatever, I still have my brand and the the trust of my audience. And so, yeah.
00:11:27
Speaker
I literally put my head down and I made about 1500 digital products in seven years. um And so that business still goes, but you know, over the last few years I've kind of pivoted from the teaching niche to more of a lifestyle niche and I kind of monetize, you know, my life now, which is really fun too. So um I think internally to answer your question, i knew the moment I saw that picture that that was, that was the catalyst that was going to launch me into this online

Mindset Shifts and Learning from Failure

00:12:01
Speaker
space. And I didn't even back then really know the power, the potential of it, you know?
00:12:07
Speaker
So, um, and then, you know, of course, like, because I've experienced what I've experienced and I've worked really hard over the last decade, like it definitely did not come overnight, but I'm so passionate about helping other people, you know, achieve those same things. And so,
00:12:23
Speaker
And so, yeah, that's pretty. Yeah, it's beautiful. I mean, because like you said, you had no idea like what 40 hours that you put into that project of what it was going to pay you, where it was going to take you.
00:12:34
Speaker
But you led with heart. And I hear it as being like like you said, you're wanting to reach out and impact other teachers as a way of saying thank you over and over and over again. Because as a child, how can you say thank you?
00:12:46
Speaker
Yeah. And just carry heart that's what I'm hearing as you got older. And you're just like, you know what, I want to continue blessing and saying thank you, thank you, thank you over and over again, because you know, they didn't let you behind.
00:12:58
Speaker
Yeah, it's interesting. So my store name, so my kindergarten teacher was her name. I'm going to cry again. Okay. And I think that this is why it's so important that you stay true and authentic to your story because stories are so powerful and they are what, you know, people don't remember how much you, what you know, I mean, they remember the feeling. They don't remember the statistic. They remember how you made them feel.
00:13:22
Speaker
And my kindergarten teachers, I'm going to cry. I wish her name was Mrs. Kinderhart. oh And so I ended up naming my entire business after her, the Kinderhearted Classroom. And for years, i still have that, you know, I still have that business. um And it it is truly been such a blessing. i think I was looking at my statistics recently and like,
00:13:43
Speaker
I've sold over 55,000 lessons globally, which means 2 million students. you know So it's just stuff like that where I'm like, wow, i back in 2016, starting with zero followers, zero experience, not knowing what I was going to do, but really knowing in my heart that there was something here and I just needed to pursue and chase it.
00:14:03
Speaker
I'm so glad I did. And and honestly, sometimes it's that you know that quote, one day or day one, it's the day one that is is that's the hardest step is like, nope, I'm gonna I'm gonna do it, you know, today's day one and moving forward every single day, I'm going to do something to learn, I'm going to do something to give back, I'm going to do something to entertain or educate.
00:14:26
Speaker
And it's just one day at a time. So I love it. Well, that goes into the next question I had, what was one mindset shift, you know, that you have to carry with you that helps you go from surviving to thriving, you know, to kind of keep you keep you focused because there are going to be days where it is going to be hard and you're like, what the hell have I done? Why am I out here? You know, how do you encourage yourself to keep going and then encourage others as well?
00:14:49
Speaker
Yeah, that's such a great question. um i have failed more than I've succeeded. And, you know, the the successes are what people see online. um But what they don't see are the failures.
00:15:00
Speaker
um And so I try to be I try to lead with heart and be very authentic in my journey. I share my story online. But that the that growth mindset and I know that that's a buzzword, you know, growth mindset. But um I have a tattoo that says fail forward and rise.
00:15:16
Speaker
And. embracing the embracing that you will fail, but the failure is not, it doesn't define who you are or your, your value. You're still completely worthy. Even if you were a pile of mush on the floor, you are still worth something and you're still valuable.
00:15:34
Speaker
And so for me, you guys, I have literally failed so many, as so many failed businesses, um even products. Like I think about digital products that I spent ah hundreds of hours creating and then it's a total flop you know and it's like oh my gosh I just spent a month on this huge product what do you mean you don't want my stuff what in the world this was like supposed to be huge it's supposed to be that one thing you know and then funny because then I have other like videos that I take 10 seconds to make and then they go viral I'm like okay I can't
00:16:09
Speaker
But um failure is a part of it. Just like it's a part of the I think of it like a sandwich. It's a part of the sandwich. You know, it's part of the the meat inside. You're going to fail. But, um you know, what you do when you get back up is really what, um you know, makes a big difference. Because like I think of all of the successful entrepreneurs in the past, you know, the light bulb is a great example. He failed so many times. And then finally,
00:16:36
Speaker
you know, got it right. And his getting it right was big. And so you have to have a grit and determination and a growth mindset that, and I don't know that that's like, you know, I think it's funny. I have a friend who similar situation as me, where she is just now after years and years of working in the online space is just now finding success.
00:17:03
Speaker
And it's big for her. But it took seven failures before she finally got it. And each time asking yourself, what did I learn? All right. What are the tools I've got from this now? You know, I think back to my days in the beginning, like I had no idea how to blog.
00:17:20
Speaker
I had no idea what search engine optimization was. i had no idea how to make a video, no idea how to edit, no idea how to, you know, like any of the online stuff, did you know, but but the other day I was in person.
00:17:33
Speaker
at a meeting and I asked you know the crowd, I said, how many of you know how to make sourdough bread? Raise your hand. How many of you know how to change a tire on a car? Well, those are two things that I do not know how to do, but you do because you it's a skill you've learned, right? And so it's that growth mindset paired with just continually like accepting the failure and asking yourself,
00:17:54
Speaker
you know, how to learn, how you can learn from it. And that will help you feel forward. You're feeling forward.

Self-Worth and Resilience

00:17:59
Speaker
Absolutely. Always looking for that next open door. Yes. And you have the right to close that door if that's where you're like, okay, this is what I've done. This is what I feel like I need a break. Right.
00:18:10
Speaker
But I feel like if you started the journey in the first place, it was given there to you for a reason and something stirring because you're capable i know I say that a lot, but it's so true. We're never handed more than what we're already able to handle and we're already equipped and everything we need is already inside of us.
00:18:27
Speaker
We just have to learn to trust ourselves and learn how to find the right tools that tap into order to bring it out. Yeah. I love that. And I think sometimes like when we're in when we're in situations where we fail or we feel like this is more than I can handle, like those are the opportunities that really show you what you're capable of, because sometimes we're actually capable of more than we even realize, you know, like capacity wise. And so I love the quote, there's growth in tension, you know, like
00:19:00
Speaker
it's like a muscle being worked out. you know The more that you work out that muscle and you're experiencing that pain, the more that that muscle is going to grow. And I think back to a time in my life when i went through you know a really rough season in 2020. I actually went through a divorce and was a single mom for a season. And that was the hardest time in my life. And there were moments where I was literally alone on a level that I've never experienced before. and it was heartbreaking and it was so raw and I've never felt lowlier than my life, but I came out of that experience having such compassion and an understanding and a depth that I'd never thought possible.
00:19:45
Speaker
And also really embracing this idea that I, wow, I, I just, I went through that, you know, and I survived it and I, it didn't, it made, it actually made me a better mom and a better, you know, wife and a better, you know, future partner and a friend because I i needed a wake up call.
00:20:06
Speaker
And I think for me, like knowing my value has been something that's been huge too. Like understanding that literally i could be a pile of mush on the ground and still hold value, you know, and that's anybody listening is,
00:20:21
Speaker
um It doesn't matter where you're at and whatever season you're in, like yeah you are worthy and valuable and lovable and um all on your own. You don't need anybody else to even tell you that.
00:20:32
Speaker
Like it's nice when they do, but um and you are capable. And um so, yeah, I think that that summarizes it. Yeah, no, absolutely. It does. And we all go through a journey of learning to love ourself. And there are times that we fight it and push it away. and we're like, no, no, what's what's the purpose? I'm not worthy of that. But being reminded that you are.
00:20:55
Speaker
And it all starts with loving yourself first. So through that situation, that's what you had to learn to do, like you said, and you just become so brighter on the other side. So thank

Mentorship and Business Advice

00:21:03
Speaker
you for sharing that. vulnerable time because sometimes it's not so easy to share.
00:21:08
Speaker
um So we have, let's say, um some listeners, obviously, they are out here and they're just like, you know what, I really do want to move forward. But I just feel stuck. And I just don't even know the first thing of getting started. What would you encourage somebody who's like, I do want to start something online?
00:21:23
Speaker
How would I even do that? Yeah. So I think it's important that we have three types of relationships in our life. I think we need to have somebody that mentors us. think we need to have friends and then we need to have people that we mentor.
00:21:35
Speaker
And so i know for me, having those relationships, finding those relationships sometimes are harder, especially people who are they willing to mentor you. and um And so i would say, you know, really drilling down and and doing some like deep heart work and and journaling what your goals are, what what you want. you know And I'm not saying like, I want X amount in my bank account. I'm talking like, what do you want life to look like in a year?
00:22:02
Speaker
what do you And start envisioning that. What do you want life to look like in five years, in 10 years? And then let's reverse engineer that and break it down to like, okay, if I'm just starting in the online space, what does that look like? So I never encourage people to set monetary goals or follower goals. I always encourage them to set goals that are actually attainable. So for example, if you want to grow a following, you got to, you got to post, right? yeah like You got to get yourself out there and be vulnerable and get really good at that. um
00:22:32
Speaker
You know, people connect, like I said, with stories. And so I always say, like, set a year goal of, you know, I want to have 100 posts by the end of the year and then reverse engineer that and say, OK, for me to get to 100 posts at it, you know, where I'm not rushing at the end. So then you reverse engineer and you make monthly or quarterly and then monthly goals.
00:22:52
Speaker
And those what we call income producing activities, those IPAs are all things that will move your your business forward or whatever it is you're trying to grow. Right. So but it is important to have people who speak into your life. So like business mentors reach out to the people literally.
00:23:08
Speaker
So I ended up moving out when I was 16 and I moved from Indiana. to Oregon for a year. I homeschooled myself with one, um like ah an older woman who was a mentor for me.
00:23:19
Speaker
And then we came down to Sacramento and I was, i knew where I didn't want to be, but I didn't have a clear vision for what I, where I wanted to go.
00:23:31
Speaker
However, I would see people in settings and communities and churches and friends groups where it looked like they had their shit together. And we all know that like that.
00:23:41
Speaker
But I was so like new on this self-discovery journey or life, you know, journey of life as a teenager that I was like, I just got to find people that are where I want to be.
00:23:55
Speaker
And I'm not even sure that I know that that's where I want to end up, but they're clearly further on down the path in me. So yeah I literally would go to people. i would I remember being at a Mother's Day conference as a 16-year-old. Remember, I didn't have a mom. yeah And it was a really painful experience, actually, for me. I was sitting there at a table, you know looking at all of these women and their daughters and feeling so out of place. and just um But this woman walked across the platform, and I knew in my gut the second I saw her,
00:24:23
Speaker
that she was going to have a huge impact on my life. And she ended up sharing her story. And I went up to her after and I was like, you guys, my email address was like ghetto daisy. was like misspelled. It was like Geto, G E T O. Anyways.
00:24:39
Speaker
And so I went up to her and I'm like, I loved your story. There's a lot of similarities from my childhood to her childhood. But the thing that I lacked was like, I, I had not you know, accomplished what she had accomplished. I mean, and so I said, can I just, can I give you my email address and can I email you or can we swap? And so I began this mentorship, mentoree relationship with her. And so that's where I would say like,
00:25:03
Speaker
Start there, you know, um reach out to people, inquire, always remain curious. I literally was on a call yesterday with a mentor who I i just met yesterday and I'm planning on buying into a mentorship that he offers because I'm like, I recognize I need somebody speaking into my life, you know, especially business, personal and all of that. And so, um so yeah, that's where I would say to start, you know, those three relationships write down on a piece of paper. Okay. Who is mentoring you?
00:25:33
Speaker
Who are the peers that you're into the iron sharpens iron? And then who are you pouring into and investing in?

I love it. I love it. And, And just each of us just being so important that we're all needed.
00:25:44
Speaker
And if you don't give yourself enough, the courage, isn't it, Mel Robbins? think because we'll go back to her, that five second rule. And I know for myself, I'm even still working through that. It is so scary to put yourself out there and actually ask, just like you walked up to that lady and was like, here's my email because ah we're going to be friends.
00:26:02
Speaker
Yeah, totally. love it. I love your outlook too. Like I love what you just said about always embracing that we're always learning and we're always on a journey. Like that is, that's huge growth even just right there. You know, like ah there's a lot of times people, they just get content or they could become complacent.
00:26:22
Speaker
And then they wonder why, you know, 20, 30 years down the road that they aren't further along than they are. Like, right now, you're never going to be younger than you are right now. You know, it's, it's just, and so it's like, seize YOLO, seize the day, you know, like, cause you never know. Like I, oh man, I mean, I lost my best friend to cancer, you know, back in 2012 and like, it was really quick and aggressive and just horrific. It was hard watching her suffer and and then pass. And it was like, oh my gosh, which is how we lost Maggie. Yeah.
00:26:55
Speaker
And she just was all a sudden not there anymore. So you like, you literally never know. in i want to leave a legacy. Like anything that I put online, i want my kids to look back on and be like, my mom was always trying to add value, always trying to educate.
00:27:11
Speaker
And that's the type of like value that I think that is is that legacy is timeless. you know But I think it's also important. and you say that your kids are watching. Right. And you're setting that example. How then because I know you are such a busy, busy lady, how do you find balance then? to keep the boundaries, to have that time with your family and to show them the love and also show the hardworking side because you're working ultimately for that goal of freedom or however that picture looks like for you. So how do you find balance?
00:27:39
Speaker
Yeah, that's a great question. One that I get asked often too, because they're like, how are you posting 17 times a day on all these platforms? yeah And I would just say, you know, like when I started in 20, one of the things that has been the best investment ever and has given me time back has it been investing into automations and systems like truly like email marketing, for example, being and it's a skill you have to learn. Like I had no idea about how do how do I even capture an email? Like, what does that even mean? How am I?
00:28:07
Speaker
So there's skills, right, that you learn in doing that. But like email marketing is so I mean, I think they say for every dollar you spend in email marketing, you earn $36 in return. That's the average, right?
00:28:20
Speaker
So like investing in systems like that, a lot of my content is actually batch recorded. i have like days. So I love, um, oh man, Atomic Habits, where they you know they talk about um habit stacking, bat batching your work.
00:28:36
Speaker
And so i'll I'll have content days, two or three content days, where I unplug from everybody and everything. and I just make video after video, and I change my shirt, and I go in the car, and I pretend like I'm driving. And it's just content.
00:28:48
Speaker
And then I take that, and I plug it into automation. So a lot of my videos actually are on a loop. So I'll make a video, and then i I post it. But then it not only schedules it to go out, it will loop it.
00:29:00
Speaker
And so it's just learning systems like that has been really good. um Yesterday is a great example. My husband and I, every Tuesday, we go out and we do a full date day. It's like got we got a babysitter for the baby the entire day. We go out for brunch in the morning.
00:29:15
Speaker
We went and shopped yesterday, hung out, and we are out all day. And it's just that like, you know, and we try to keep our business meetings like, you know, or we're talking finances and stuff out of the conversation on our date day to day just to avoid those, you know, those like hot topics. Absolutely.
00:29:33
Speaker
and so, yeah so that's how I do I do a lot of batch recording. Atomic Habits is one of my favorite books. um And then it's just like every every skill that I've learned, I've just looked at it as like I'm putting one more tool in my tool belt, one more tool, one more tool. And um I was thinking about this today too. Like, I think if I could go back in time, i probably should have invested in mentor sooner because I've learned pretty much everything trial and error at this point. Like, you know, I've reached out to people, but I've never really invested in a mentorship.
00:30:10
Speaker
And literally this week for the first time i i talked to my husband, i I said, I think we're overdue. And, I think too, like, okay, how could, you know, I'm, I might've shaved off several years had I done that, you know?
00:30:25
Speaker
Um, but yeah, it's just one skill at a time, lots of grace, you know, being deliberate with your time. Um, and how bad do you really want it?

Living in Alignment with Purpose

00:30:35
Speaker
That's the big question.
00:30:36
Speaker
How bad do you really want it? You know, it makes a big difference. So. It does. It does. And it's not easy. It's not easy, guys. You just keep getting out here. And like you said, and you're going to meet so many new people along the way that you didn't even know that you needed.
00:30:50
Speaker
So it definitely goes in with the mentorship, too. But there's a lot of free things out there from people, too. Don't be afraid to shy away from people who you might keep seeing them kind of pop up. And you're like, why do I keep seeing these people?
00:31:02
Speaker
You just need to listen because there's a lesson in there for you, even if it's just take that five minutes to sit and listen. So yeah. Um, I think what I wanted to ask you to like, ah you hear a lot of people talk about with all mentorship or not mentorship, sorry, but mindfulness and stuff. And they're always saying, yeah, we're living in alignment.
00:31:19
Speaker
Um, what does that mean with your purpose to you? Living in alignment? Yeah. Living in alignment. So that's a great question. i think, um,
00:31:33
Speaker
I think I've always appreciated people who show up authentically and share the messy middle. And um for me, I feel like that's probably why I get messages from people who are like, I so resonate with your story and thanks for being so raw. Yeah. Yeah.
00:31:51
Speaker
Because like, it's the influencers that, you know, aren't authentic or like, you know, and everything, even, even my platform, I look at it sometimes. I'm like, oh my gosh, it's such a highlight reel. Like, I wish people could really see the behind the scenes, ah like truly behind the scenes, you know, obviously there's some things that are sacred and stuff, but I'm like,
00:32:10
Speaker
we're just We're just out here like any other normal family. But um I think living in alignment, it's just important to stay authentic. I know for me, one of the rules is like I always want to put my head on my pillow at night knowing that I showed up i showed up today. Just me. you know Elizabeth showed up. And i didn't try I wasn't trying to be fake. I wasn't misleading anybody.
00:32:32
Speaker
um and I think, too, that really will help your brand grow. It will help your business grow because that's ah I'll tell you a story really quick. Yeah, please do. I have a video right now that has been um taken by ah company and you they're using it to run an ad on it. And it's it's of me, you know, sharing a product.
00:32:55
Speaker
And I'm. the video is drumming up a lot of sales for this company. And I had one of their customers reach out to me because she found me on Instagram and she's like, Hey, so I bought the product, but it's not working. And like, why would you recommend something that's not working? And I was like, well, what are you, what product is it? And so she shared it with me. She sent this picture and I'm like, Oh, that's not the product that,
00:33:19
Speaker
I, I, I affiliate with. Yeah. And so anyways, she ended up having to, you know, return that product. And then she bought the product that I was an affiliate for, but it it was, it was really neat to have the conversation with her because she had this trust enough with me to reach out and be like, Hey, yeah this doesn't seem right to me because every, cause she was, she's been a customer of mine for other products for years.
00:33:46
Speaker
And I'm talking like back in the teacher days when, you know, And so she was able to like say, this doesn't, this doesn't feel right. Like what is happening here? And that for me really spoke volumes to like when you're aligned and you share authentically um and you know,
00:34:04
Speaker
there's no reason you can't monetize what you're passionate about. I

Monetizing Passions and Closing Thoughts

00:34:08
Speaker
have, I've worked with a couple of people who like one lady, she's a swim instructor, she's a teacher, but she's a swim instructor. And she's like, okay, is there any way to monetize my swim instructing? You know? And I'm like, yeah, let's, let's talk about it. So she ended up like,
00:34:22
Speaker
creating an online course for parents that teach them how to, to help their toddlers be swim safe, you know, over the summer. So it's like videos and printables and activities.
00:34:33
Speaker
And so like, that's an example of like, she's super passionate and aligned with that. so and then there's just a way to turn that around and monetize. So I say like, I i love the online space because there really are so many ways to get paid to share from your gifts, you know what I mean?
00:34:55
Speaker
And add value and people appreciate it. Like I think about my teachers pay teachers business, like a $4 lesson that took me 40 hours to make saves a teacher five hours of time but they're only spending $4 on it and they can reuse it from year to year to year. So like for them, it's like that five hours is time that they have back with their family. yeah And so I have no problem adding value in that way and being rewarded.
00:35:23
Speaker
for the value that I'm adding, you know, um especially in the health and wellness space, like every single dollar that comes in is truly a direct reflection of people getting healthier or people getting wealthier because they're either monetizing, you know, and being affiliate themselves or they're, um they're taking the products.
00:35:42
Speaker
And so that's really rewarding, you know. I love it. I love it. So yes, we just love your creativity. And for people listening, if they want to reach out and find you to connect with you, um you know, maybe to be part of your team and um just to continue to pull, learn and grow from you, how can they find you?
00:36:02
Speaker
Yeah. um Instagram, I'm at Elizabeth.Marcelina. I'm on TikTok too. Same handle. Yeah. yeah And just shoot me a message. Let me know that you came from Danielle's podcast.

00:36:45
