Introduction to Eryth and Goblin Adventures

00:00:43
Speaker
Hello everyone and welcome to this week's episode of The Fellowship of the Tabletop. I'm Draconis. We are a live play 5e D&D podcast set in the magical homebrew world of Eryth in the Kingdom of Sleepguard. My name is Mark and I am the Dungeon Master and welcome to our goblin adventures. With us this week we have Casey who plays the goblin cowboy. We've got Callum who plays the goblin musk.
00:01:06
Speaker
Oh no. We've got James who plays the goblin, Doric. I remember doing the time warp. Nice. We've got Sarah who plays the goblin, Grona. Oh, they're there.
00:01:20
Speaker
We've got Darren, he plays the halfling beat. Bluey. Well, it's a ceiling crush. It's enough to drive you insane. Let's go again. Oh, there we go. Wonderful. Very nice. Thank you, James, for getting us the musical. That's okay. If I dodge another roll, it's going to go. It's just a jump to the left. You could have saved that. That would have been fantastic.
00:01:51
Speaker
But good boys cross to the right Put your hand on the chest Cause it will eat you inside
00:02:04
Speaker
I'm trying to get the rest of it now. I think there is a full song there you can do just based off of this room.

Discovery of the Time Loop Room

00:02:11
Speaker
One-shot D&D musical. We're calling it here. There you go. So as you probably tell from the reset, well, the obviously very, very in-depth record bit we just did of what happened last week, we've been stuck in a time warp or some time loop or some kind of resetting room where time
00:02:32
Speaker
ever repeateth our goblin party found accidentally by the wisp of a flame, a hidden entrance behind a bookshelf slash kind of pantry thing in the bottom of Hasselthorpe Manor, an entranceway that had obviously been blocked up for very good reason. They entered into a space that had a chest,
00:02:52
Speaker
A falling ceiling, a mirror, and six candles lit at the far end. Purple candles, which I'm not going to regale most of the details because I repeated it six times. Yes. We reiterated our situation six different times. Each character remembered everything that happened in the previous encounter, even if that involved a horrific death.
00:03:12
Speaker
So far on the death count, Godboy and Doric are tied for the most number of deaths. All have been crushed to death twice. Grown out so far have avoided all death actually and it's just been reset. And Musk has had one crush and then has had his chest eaten by a chest.
00:03:35
Speaker
wooden treasure chest that came to life and gobbled on his chest from it and ate his insides eyed. This room seems to have this enigmatic quality to it that resets itself when things go wrong. There's a riddle, the man in the mirror, the figure in the mirror, spoken words and phrases to the party, many of which have remembered sections of but not all of which
00:03:57
Speaker
When they try and leave the room, it resets. When certain candles are blown out, it resets. When certain events take place, it resets.

Initial Puzzle Attempts with Candles

00:04:08
Speaker
Then sometimes it just resets. No one really knows at the moment why or how this is happening, but Hessel thought manor continues to be the enigmatic and confusing entity that these goblins were not expecting when they came on this mission.
00:04:21
Speaker
We start off, we start off what we picked up on last episode last week where we had had Doric go up to the second candle, these six candles in a row and extinguish it. Nothing happened. He then moved to the fourth candle and extinguished it. And he took a deep breath in to extinguish it. And then we'd pause the episode. The breath is released. The candle has blown out. There was silence. The space remains. Nothing has changed.
00:04:51
Speaker
At the moment, sorry, I think, God, boy, you're still dead. You got crushed. The only one that's dead, you were splattered. You were splattered still. So unfortunately, the ooh comes from the ethereal plane somewhere. Just echo the- But the other four of you, that's just happened. Doric, you blow down the candle and nothing has changed. Nothing has happened.
00:05:16
Speaker
Yes, I feel we're on the right track. Soon this riddle shall be made to be finished, but... Well, I muted for that. Sorry, I think I was. I think it's working. I think James was muted as well. I think a load of us went to talk there and were unmuted. What the hell are you talking about? Who are you talking about? You appeared to be talking, James, and I didn't hear a word you said. I heard him. Did you?
00:05:44
Speaker
Yeah. Everybody else actually heard him. He didn't hear you. Yeah. Has support manner has affected Darren directly. Genuinely, I was talking. Sorry, I know this is an edit, but I was, I was talking. I've written nothing for this. I want the audience to hear how daft you sound right now. Can you hear James now? Hello, Darren. I can now, yeah. Excellent.
00:06:12
Speaker
I was coming through okay, wasn't I? Yeah, mate, you were fine. We heard you say that the middle was about... What did you say? The middle was maybe to be... Yeah, it made me laugh. Yeah, sorry. I don't really listen to myself when I come up with this pretentious nonsense. Anyway, Darren, what were you trying to say while you were muted? I was just saying, we appear to not be dead. Do you want me to change that? No, no, no, no, no.
00:06:41
Speaker
We're on the right track. So two and then four. So you think it's evens maybe, so we could try six, but... What about Godboy? Well, Godboy is dead. Yeah, but I've died as well. But I've come back. Maybe if we get it right, they'll come back. Come on now, no time like the present, and I'll go back. What if they don't?
00:07:24
Speaker
I'll go through this just in detail because it's been a week for everyone else who's heard it. I know you guys have heard it seven times now. Table is upturned. A chest stands in front of a standing mirror with dust upon dust throughout the space. Something urges you in. Time creeps back and on again. Or please be rolling your deck so it saves.
00:07:33
Speaker
Too late. Too late. If Godboy does not come back I'm killing you now.
00:07:40
Speaker
shadows dance with anotherworldly grace, a thunderous crack echoes through the room, a massive debris hurtles down towards you, time's loose or a crawl, as a falling mass threatens to crush you, but there is no sense of panic, there is no sense of waning fear. You know this is happening, you know that you to expect this, you all know what to do. Doric, what'd you get? We're straddling the 2 plus I assume. Still adding the 2 plus. I got a 16 then. Thank you, Bluey. 13.
00:08:06
Speaker
Thank you. My pens run out. There they go. Musk? 15. Thank you, good boy. Now, I've got a natural one, but I've then ended up with five, then plus two is seven. Cool. Natural one is a failure. You're so buggin'. Trying to convince myself. Grow now. 15. He's done my dad. Very good, very good.
00:08:26
Speaker
Uh, yes, again, as we, as this kind of happens again, Godboy splats dead again. The rest of you step out of the way. I like to imagine you jump straight back into the same conversation you were previously having, like nothing's happened. But obviously Godboy's just jumped into where a rock he knew was going to come down. It was like, oh, okay. Well,

Riddle Discussions and Theories

00:08:46
Speaker
Godboy's not even attempting to get out of the way. He's like, oh, it's happening again.
00:08:52
Speaker
I'm going to go, right, yep. Sorry, Gobbo. Just walk over the court and walk over the bits and go to the second candle and go. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Maybe we should listen to the riddle again first. Blowing out the second candle. Yep. Second candles blown out. Extinguished. Well, we knew we knew that worked. Yes, that means this is going to work as well. I'll blow out the fourth candle.
00:09:14
Speaker
Nothing else happens, yep. Right, but we need to figure out what happens next. Six was obviously incorrect. We need more information. Oh, I need cowboy. Where are you? Shut up, Mask. Where are you hearing this riddle from? Thanks, Martin. I want to punch Bluey, just say. He taught me to shut up, so I'm going to punch Bluey. Okay, roll to hit. I'm not prepared for an unarmed strike, but there we go.
00:09:43
Speaker
Unnatural 20. I'm assuming that hits your AC. Yes. I rolled 4 points of bludgeoning damage. How rude! I turn and blow out the 6th candle.
00:10:23
Speaker
You're sick. Why? Why?
00:10:31
Speaker
Um, Doric. Not splattered. Thank you. Bluey. Not splattered. They've got 12. Meets of beets. Masque. Splattered. 10. B! Go boy. Not splattered. 15. Alright. Growner.
00:10:46
Speaker
Splattered, and I'm absolutely vivid about it. It happened. Bluey's dead. Bluey have screwed you over. Correct, you're dead. You got eight iterations, and that was a good run, though. A very good run. So, Musk and Growner. What we could imagine is that maybe, Growner, you went over to stop Musk from punching Bluey again, or you were going to join and shank him, or something. I don't know. And in doing so, your mind wasn't there, and Splat Splat.
00:11:14
Speaker
Both of you go. Doric, Bluey, and Godboy. The room has reset. The candles are lit. What do you three want to do? This would be interesting. Right. Before we do anything else, I'm alive.
00:11:28
Speaker
Let me just say, if anyone punches me in the face, I'm blowing up that six candle again. What happened? Must punch me in the face so I blow up the candle and now he's dead. Okay. It's only temporary because it's the crushing thing that seems to be killing it all the time. I hate that summary but it is so accurate. Well then, we don't want to go near that chest because it's itty. And we don't want to go near the mirror because it's Ridley. So do we just stand still?
00:11:58
Speaker
No, we blow out the second candle. No, no, no, no, no, no. We blow out the fourth candle, and then we figure out what we do next. Right. Let's go ask the mirror. And Doric's going to walk in front of the mirror to see if the same thing happens again.
00:12:12
Speaker
As you approach, something catches your eye, a subtle movement, a flicker of movement from within the reflection. You see an aura as a figure of a tall, ethereal being materializes before your eyes. Its form of grace will get enigmatic, draped in flowing robes that seem to shift and blend with the shadows. A figure's face is obscured, wrapped in a hood that conceals its features. A voice resonates with an otherworldly quality. The figure speaks its words, laced with tension. Not solo, but doubled makes one. Doubled again for second.
00:12:42
Speaker
Death begets death, life begets life, dancing with night, snuffed out, ends strife. Within the mirror's ancient gaze, the secret lies in just last blaze. And the figure disappears. Um, um, um, do we, we haven't all died together, have we?
00:13:11
Speaker
No, I believe we haven't. Um, he said snuffed out. That means dead. And, um, what if it means that we all have to die for this to be broken? That, that is an interesting trailer for it. It also said something about the answer lying in the mirror. So I suggest that we between is investigate what we can see in the mirror. And then when that fails, we go for the everyone dies option.
00:13:40
Speaker
Well, I suppose we've got nothing better to try and it does seem to be on the right track. Can we reach out and touch the mirror? Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, it's in touching distance.
00:13:52
Speaker
Are we all doing it? Are we all doing it? Yes, I'm just doing it. Okay, yes, you look there. You look there. So, Godboy's going to reach out and touch the mirror. Yes. Sorry, Godboy, we'll do the same. What are we looking to do? Are we looking to... I'm seeing if it's an optical illusion or some sort of world behind the mirror, if it's, yeah, if I can go through it or not. Because again, I don't know if the person that I've seen in the mirror is in the room or if it's just in the mirror. I'm confused.
00:14:19
Speaker
okay yeah no problem and you reach out and as your hand gets closer and closer you feel an energy pulsing out from from the mirror like an aura reaching out towards you as your fingers get closer you tense yourself up expecting the inevitable and then you feel something cold on your fingers it's a mirror okay oh the coldness of the of the mirror and as your fingers move your green fingers move across the space you kind of kind of etch out kind of
00:14:45
Speaker
dust and we can part the dust and it seems from where you're looking at the moment, Godboy, like a regular mirror. You can't push through it. It's such a solid piece. It is an illusion. Either the figure was in the mirror looking at you or behind you. That's the only way you can put a picture at the moment. Or, I mean, it depends what Godboy would think. Sorry. I think it's just a mirror.
00:15:15
Speaker
I agree with you. I think it's just a mirror, but I think what we need to do is see in the mirror and see if there's anything we can see in here that we can't see in the room. Beatrix is going to look in the mirror and just see if there's anything in the reflections that's actually not physically present in the room.
00:15:36
Speaker
Nice. As you do, you stare into the mirror and are you moving it or are you just kind of looking just from its current angle to see what's? It's just literally moving around the mirror and glancing into it and then just looking at it. You're moving around? Yeah. Looking over his shoulder and seeing what he can see. Okay. And as you do that, you notice you kind of move from left to right, kind of panning through the space, starting to the south where you entered into the space, moving all the way up and panning up to the north where the now remaining four candles are lit, the second and fourth ones are blown out.
00:16:06
Speaker
And as you do that, you kind of pivot and check the information in places and things that you see. You see the shawl of spider webs in the top corner. You see them in real life as well. You see the noctober tables and chairs. You see them in real life. The flipped pits of furniture to the north. You see them as well. And you also see, strangely, all six candles lit in the reflection, but only four of the candles are lit in the kind of reality.
00:16:33
Speaker
you also notice that the chest isn't there in the reflection. So as you stand there, the chest is kind of almost in front of you, because it's in front of the mirror. But when you look, you can see your knees, you can see your legs like the chest isn't there. Ah, look, no chest. Candle the lit. Seems to imply an alternate reality to our own. Most perplexing.
00:17:02
Speaker
Is there another door? Do you have any ideas? Any ideas either of you? Well I'm wondering if there's another door somewhere to go that we could go in the real life and in the mirror it would be a different life.

Mirror Discrepancies and New Theories

00:17:18
Speaker
Or is that just my brain? Did you see another door? If you both don't have any answers I'm about to run out that door to bring back the other two to see if they can do anything.
00:17:29
Speaker
No, I don't think we should waste the time we have together. I'm enjoying myself. Are you looking for another... Yeah, I'm looking to see... In this mirror, I'm looking to see whether or not... Not that we're missing anything... Not that something's missing in the mirror, but something's there in the mirror that isn't there in real life.
00:17:50
Speaker
Gotcha. Okay, so as you start looking in the mirror and you start from the bottom corner, we can see the cobwebs in the corner, and you can see Growner shoots a threatening stare to Bluey and enters the room. No! Yeah, it feels cooler in this panel mansion and newer than the rest. Oh, well, I'm a lot on the shaft of moonlight. Stand before you, tables up and under chest. Stand in front of the standing mirror with dust and dust throughout the space. Something urges you in. Time creep back and on again. Could you please make a dexterity saving throw? We're going to say Mordor. Doric. Squish that 11. Splat. Bluey.
00:18:20
Speaker
20. Thank you. Mask. Surviving with 19. Thank you. Good boy. A natural 20. Nice. The opposite end of the spectrum. Grona. I'm alive! Yay! Back to it. We can go on without Doric, surely. Doric takes the splat and is snuffed out to use the word that the... Oh cruel mistress, take me again!
00:18:47
Speaker
I just had enough. I need a bit of time out of this. I need a bit of time away from this guy. I'm sorry, Derek. I'm sorry, Derek. Before you hit me, before you hit me, he's just going to both Growner and Musk. Before you hit me, before you hit me, now walks over to the second candle, blows it out, walks over to the fourth candle, blows it out. Now, now, mirror, mirror, there are things in the mirror. There are things in here that aren't in the mirror. Look, there's no chest in the mirror.
00:19:12
Speaker
that candles two and four have been blown out they are still alive and and not all alive there but they're still lit in the cat in the mirror they're still lit in the mirror look look look don't hit me look at the mirror look in the mirror don't hit me mirror mirror don't hit me mirror mirror mirror mirror i will only hit you until we're out of here and then i might hit you i will hit you i'm gonna look in the mirror first did you just get the end of the video last time
00:19:39
Speaker
I haven't heard the riddle yet. That was a good boy. That was you who heard the riddle, wasn't it? Well, there's some kind of ethereal figure in the mirror talking to me at this moment, I think. You want to come and listen? I've wandered to the mirror.
00:19:56
Speaker
I will push my ear up next to musk and then just move back out of arm's reach. I'm assuming you're all here at this time in case you need me to say it again. As something catches your eye, a subtle movement of ethereal being materializes before your eyes, enigmatic, draped in flowing robes, faces obscured, wrapped in a hood that conceals its features, voice resonates with anotherworldly quality. Not so low, but doubled makes one. Doubled again for second.
00:20:25
Speaker
Death begets death. Life begets life. Dancing with night, sloughed out, ends strife. Within the mirror's ancient gaze, the secret lies in chests last blazed. And then the figure disappears into a stride of smoke within the mirror. Right, so... Something to do with fire and a chest! Yes, I...
00:20:50
Speaker
Just last place. I mean, I wouldn't normally say you're right, Musk, but that sounds about right to me. OK, I need fire. Don't wait. Dungeneers pack here on me. I'll pull out a torch and just before he does that, I would like to cast create bonfire.
00:21:10
Speaker
Just on the chest. That isn't easy. You'll probably see Musk frantically running around all the broken tables and God knows what is in it, stoking the fire. He's just holding an unlit torch like it's a balloon. So the spell creates a magic bonfire within a five foot cube. If there's a creature in the space, it must make a deck save though.
00:21:39
Speaker
I don't know if the chest is a creature. I assume it probably is. It is a creature. It got 16. Oh. Then it doesn't take any fire damage. And the chest bursts into life and it goes for the first person in front of it.
00:21:59
Speaker
That's probably me. One of all of you. Actually, D4. One, it's Bluey. Two, it's Grona. Three, it's Godboy. Four, it is Musk. That is a nice, simple one. So, Bluey.
00:22:20
Speaker
And it just absolutely, it goes over your head, rips the head off. Body spurts blood and falls to the ground. And can I have you all roll initiative, please? I'm going to let that happen. Thank God for that. I assume I'm dead and don't need to roll. Yeah, you don't. Yeah, of course. Do you? Cool. Okay. So anyone get 20 plus? Yes. 22 from Musk. Nice. 15 to 20. 19 from Gaboi.
00:22:50
Speaker
Good boy. And Grinn, what'd you get? Nine. Cool. All right. Musk, top of the round. This chest has teeth. It's just killed. But Bluey, what do you want to do? Don't think you can get round me by taking down that halfling. I'm still going to kill you. And sort out, I'm running towards the chest and I'm just going to roll to attack.
00:23:21
Speaker
Okay, I'll take my colossal longsword and it's like, you're going to try and jump at it a little bit and try and get as much momentum and downward force as you're more aiming to break it than anything else. And I get a crit on my first swing, which is wonderful.
00:23:38
Speaker
Oh, some double damage. What I'm also going to do, the sword is going to kind of swing through the fire. You're going to see a rune kind of glow on this half broken greatsword.
00:23:54
Speaker
And it's going to kind of involuntary activate a fire rune. So I'm going to attack with that as well, which will do multiple things, but for the start, an extra 2d6 fire damage. So I need to roll many, many dice to begin with.
00:24:16
Speaker
So that's 11 points of slashing damage plus an additional d8 for the crit. That's 13 points of slashing damage.
00:24:26
Speaker
I'm then going to roll 2d6 for the fire damage, which is 10 points of fire damage. I'm probably going massively overkill on this thing right now from the smirk that I see adorned on the DM. And can it make a strength saving throw? I would love to, but Grunas shoots a threatening stare to blue.
00:24:49
Speaker
like this part of the match is used for the rest. A long dark night stands before you, tables are formed, the chest stands in front of your standing mirror with dust upon dust throughout the space, something urges you in, time creeps back and on again, time moves when you feel like it should slow. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge. Falling masonry, could you all please make a dexterity saving throw? I missed that last bit.
00:25:17
Speaker
Yeah, we weren't paying attention because you said it so many times. So we don't know which bit we were meant to be paying attention to. I feel frustrated that I've used that kind of shit and I just, I'll be fucking nothing.
00:25:30
Speaker
What I like about this is it's part like your characters are trapped here, but also you guys are fully trapped here. It's part of you. It's part, it's their time, it's your time as well. So every spell and stuff we use in here is counting as a spell slot and stuff, yeah. I assume it doesn't. No, no, that will reset. Oh, so you've got your stuff back. Oh, thank God for that. Yay. And when Blimey got Smack before, is he back to full health then? Everything resets, yep. Yeah. Smack him again.
00:26:00
Speaker
Tell me how we've entered the first time. Right, Doric. 16 this time, not squished. Not squished. Bluey. 16. Thank you. Musk. I am very squished in mid-swing with a natural one. Splat! Good boy. Not squished 20. Thank you. Grow now.
00:26:18
Speaker
Very squished. No smacking Bluey this time. It's a poison. Doric, Bluey and Godboy, you are alive. You were mid-fight with some of you. You were mid-fight with his chest and now it just reset randomly. Like imagine Musk saw was up coming down, down, down and then just reset before he even made contact. What do you want to do? Oh, I'm back this time. Well, we were just fighting the chesty thing and it was going to be on fire.
00:26:49
Speaker
Without saying anything, blows out second candle, blows out fourth candle, walks over to the mirror and goes. Okay, okay. I missed the last one. Did we figure out anything else? Well, something to do with the chest ablaze. Something to do with firing in the chest hole. Then did that go well? Well, then I just remember being here again.
00:27:14
Speaker
I distinctly remember the chest it chose to devour me. That's the final thing I remember. Something good came out to be said. That was absolutely disgusting, actually. Let me see if I can remember the riddle. Something to do with dancing with night. That means nothing to me. Death begets death, life begets life, something something dancing with night, chests blazing.
00:27:45
Speaker
Dancing with night. Anything coming to you, fellas? I'll perform a little jig in front of the mirror. Could you roll the performance check, please? Yes.
00:28:03
Speaker
And could you give us a blow-by-blow rendition of what this jig is? It's an attempt at just trying to do some kind of tap dance, but I only rolled a five, so he immediately kicks his own feet and falls over, gets up and goes, I believe we have a bad present, and we'll just step out of the way. Fair enough. You took away the chance of me to kill you again, fine.
00:28:24
Speaker
You're going to kick the chest and it would bite your face off again. It's fine. You just felt it was fine. You fell over. I like that. That's very kind of the office. I appreciate that. Yeah. Was that some poor attempt to try and do an Eastern tap dancing ritual? It was an attempt to make something happen. Just dance, please. Oh, God's sakes. Let me show you how it's done. Doric rolled a 16. What is your initial? What do you say?
00:28:54
Speaker
Oh, that's a good question, actually. It starts out just like some simple tapping and all that. And then if you can kind of imagine the old fashioned Gene Kelly sort of like full on tap dancing routine, where like he's creating all sorts of different, not just sounds, different tempos, different sort of like echoations, as they just kind of bounce around the room, just from simple click of the clacky of his goblin toesies. Oh my god, you're a goblin. If this does absolutely nothing.
00:29:24
Speaker
As you finish and flourish with the routine, as you're panting a little bit at the energy you put into it, nothing changes. I really can't help myself but hope that when Growner comes back next time, she punches you in the face. Well, it's said about dancing in the night. We tried everything else. What else would there do? If I remember correctly, didn't you mention something about a mirror? Yes, but I can't remember what it said about the mirror.
00:29:55
Speaker
What about you halfling? Surely you have some use outside of tap dancing horribly. I got the candles right and then discovered that there was stuff missing in the mirror that's actually present in the room. Thank you very much. Wait a second. Missing? That could be something. What Doric is going to do is he's going to grab the mirror and he's going to try and level it in way with one of the existing candles, one that's blown out. We'll say two to begin with and he's going to try and attempt to blow out the candle in the reflection.
00:30:25
Speaker
Okay, could you give me a strength check please first to see if you can shift the mirror? Oh dear. Would you like a hand? Yeah, I was going to ask that too. Please! Both roller and aid check.
00:30:39
Speaker
What's the A check again? You just have to remember. Oh, I'd like to find that. You roll a D20 to begin with, and then they get like 12 to, my god, DM, you can do a really good impression of Callan's voice. Callan did just, yeah. I can really do a good one, I was mute myself. Yeah, roll a D20, and basically from an 11 plus, you add to the initial check, which would be... Is that me as well? Yeah, both of you, yeah. Okay. How many people want to do it? So just a straight D20.
00:31:08
Speaker
Oh, sorry, 220 plus your modifier for whatever it is you're choosing athletics or strength. Same thing. I rolled an 18 minus one, 17. 17, so you had a, so that's plus two to begin with. So my, sorry, mine was four and then I don't know what you said to add, but I don't think it's going to do anything. Your athletics modifier? Oh, I think that's four actually. So it makes it eight. No, sorry, it's two. It's two, it's two, it's two. So it's six.
00:31:36
Speaker
which is a minus two to the check, which actually negates whatever blue just gave you straight. That's a shame. Where did you roll, James? Doric rolled an eight.
00:31:48
Speaker
What happens is Bluey manages to lift up one end of it and kind of starts to shift it around. Gobbo tries to do the same, but actually pushes it instead of lift it, which pushes it into Bluey, which knocks him out. His nose is bleeding and as that happens, the mirror robles one way back, one way back, and then falls onto Doric, killing him dead. And just as that happens,
00:32:14
Speaker
Growner shoots a threatening stare to below you. Oh god, no! This part of the mansion, newer than the rest, the long dark room shafts and moonlight stands before you. Table drop turned a chest, stands at the far end of the room. I thought, I thought, Growner, I thought we just rage quit. I tried to unmute myself and I pressed the camera button by accident.
00:32:48
Speaker
That's the bit he told us to listen to last time that none of us were listening to.
00:32:55
Speaker
Time moves. When we feel it should slow. DC 12, dexterity saving throw please. Doric. Doric squished. Thank you. Bluey. 12. Thank you. Mask. Alive. Thank you. Good boy. Natural one. Growner. Alive. I thought we were all going to be alive this time. Good boy. We haven't had a full death. I'm expecting at one point where everyone dies. Anyway.
00:33:24
Speaker
From now on, it's plus four to the dexterity saving throw, because you know, literally the size, shape, weight, sound, smell of this rubble that's falling now. So from now on, it's plus four, okay? Dorek Splat, Godboy Splat, Louis Musk Groener. What would you like to do? Okay, we're back again.
00:33:43
Speaker
Bluey, again, continued, goes over to second candle, fourth candle. Right. I do believe we were getting somewhere when dear Doric, alas, I knew him well, was looking into the mirror and seemed to be getting somewhere with potentially blowing out the candles in the mirror. But he had to move the mirror, at which point I would shoot a deathly stare at Gobble. I feel a bit mean doing that. His blood is currently dripping out from underneath the floor.
00:34:11
Speaker
And instead, what I think we need to do is get the mirror into position for someone to blow the candles out. Now, as we have seen, we need people who are intelligent and strong to help lift that. Now, I am none of those things, but I no longer care. So I'm going to try and lift the bloody mirror. Someone give me a hand and whoever's left, blow out those bloody candles and we'll see what happens. I'm one of those things. I think we know which one. I do get told I'm quite smart.
00:34:41
Speaker
I'm gonna, I'm gonna go and blow out the two candles because I am not strong. Okay, so you blow out the second and the fourth candles. Yeah. Awesome. Who's moving? So Bluey, you're leading the move. So you roll your, um, uh, give me an athletics check for you. Is anyone aiding him that's still alive? Yeah, I am here. Musk is, Musk is assisting. Okay. You give me your athletics check then as well and tell me your score first. Oh, athletics. Yeah. Well, D20 plus your athletics modifier.
00:35:12
Speaker
I really should be leading this, Darren. I really should be leading this. What did you get? I got an unnatural 20. Nice. So you had a plus three to the roll that Bluey had. So Bluey, what did you roll? I got two minus one, which is one.
00:35:28
Speaker
So when you do that, you try to literally go to the middle bottom of the mirror and just lift the whole thing up, lift the entire thing up. And as you start to move that little bit, Musk comes over and just seems to literally lift half of it for you. But you are in such an awkward middle position that actually cause it to lean back, back, back, back. Musk stands forward to try and hold the mirror up and spot.
00:35:53
Speaker
Both of them are dead on the floor, crushed by the mirror. Blood eeks out across the space. You are so getting punched. You're the only one alive. What dead goblins can't talk, Callum? Yeah. Wait, how is Dohit dead? Dohit got squished. I was squished at the beginning.
00:36:12
Speaker
Oh, did you? Sorry, I thought we were all alive except good boy. It's just me. Just you now. Oh God. I have no idea what to do. Just throw her face into the chest. She may as well do. Go and blow out a candle and try and leave. Fuck it. I mean, I don't... It's so...
00:36:34
Speaker
I'm sorry. I know. We're never going to get this. It's not so. You're the only one that's got the riddle written down properly. Yeah. I'm going to repeat the riddle out loud to see if I can figure out anything else by saying it out loud to myself to an empty room full of dead people. Not solo, but doubled makes one. So I think that means candle number two. Doubled again for second, that makes candle number four. We've got that bit.
00:37:03
Speaker
Death begets death, life begets life, no idea. Dancing with night, snuffed out in strife. So that sounds like we need to put out another candle maybe, but I didn't know. Within the mirrors, something gaze, something about the chest's last blaze. So I really thought we were onto when I was putting the chest on fire, but then it ate us. So I'm all out of ideas.
00:37:33
Speaker
I wish I wasn't the only one alive. So in the mirror, just to confirm, all of the candles are lit.
00:37:47
Speaker
And there's no chest. At the moment it's facing the mirror, but the mirror has smashed and there are shards around that you could pick up and, and Peters have gone in. Okay. You could rub the blood off them as well. The eyeball that's next to it. Yeah. Can I try and like find a bit of mirror that's less bloody and see if I can see anything in it. You pick a triangular, large kind of hand-shaped, hand-sized piece of mirror up. What are you looking for?
00:38:15
Speaker
What am I looking for? Literally anything that might help. If you look around and you notice that as you look around in the mirror to see everything that the chest isn't there in the reflection. Also that the candles two and four in the reflection are also lit. They are not lit in reality. Yeah.
00:38:33
Speaker
Is it anything else different? If I take the shard a mirror and do it around the entire room, is the ending else different? You also noticed that where there was an open entrance to the space where you walked in to begin with, there seems to be a large iron door that is shut. Interesting. Can I? Just last place. Dancing with night.
00:39:03
Speaker
No, you can't. Growner shoots a threatening statue and enters the room, sorry. The air feels cooler like this part of the mansion is new within the rest of the world. I mean, it is in the time there. Shaft.
00:39:13
Speaker
I've got my wrong tab up. Long shafts of moonlight stand before you. The tables are up, turned a chest stands in front of a sanding mirror with dust upon dust throughout the space. Something urges you in. Time creeps back and on again. Time moves when you feel it should slow. Could everyone please, as the falling masonry falls, could you all please make a dexterity saving throw please? Doric. Eliza 18. Huzzah, Bluey. One.
00:39:40
Speaker
No, it's taking a while to ride. Sorry, it's taking a while to ride. Make it a while. Sorry, it's a four. We've got loads of time. We've got loads of time. Fourteen, thank you. Musk? Dead with nine. Wap, wap. Gobble? Is that with your plus four?
00:39:54
Speaker
That's with the plus four. Oh, shit. I've got a live with 26. Huzzah, Grina. 24. With all the help I can give, Mask, you still fuck it up. Everyone's alive. Splat, Mask is gone again. The four of you are alive. What do you want to do? Candles are alive. God damn it. I was hoping we'd keep the strong one this time. Second candle out, fourth candle out.
00:40:14
Speaker
both candles right right what happened last time because i missed it i was down in there we tried to move the mirror and and they messed it up and it squished them and then i was left alive on my own and i don't think i did anything and then it just reset so i don't know if there's some sort of time limit
00:40:32
Speaker
Right. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. What wasn't the plan to blow out the candles in the mirror? Sorry to interrupt and take the pass, but if there is a time I'm getting sick of nearly getting hit by this ceiling and we do not have time to discuss this, I believe you, Doric, were attempting to blow out the candles in the mirror. Yes, that's what I was hoping, and I was hoping that maybe one of our stronger goblins would be able to help. Because as you might have noticed, I am not the most athletically minded.
00:40:58
Speaker
Well, but why do you need to move the mirror? Can you not just look into the mirror and in that direction to see that you can blow it out? Maybe, but perhaps... That's a good point. I think we should try that before we try moving the mirror and getting squished again. No, I like moving it. Come on. Yeah, Godboy's gonna look in the mirror. And then he's gonna attempt to...
00:41:26
Speaker
Is he gonna... I'm going to attempt to blow out the candles. Wait, which ones? Yeah, which ones? Which ones haven't we tried? One, three, five, six. We've tried six, it got us crushed. Yeah, six reset. One, three and five.
00:41:54
Speaker
We've tried one, one reset as well, actually. As I'm looking in the mirror, do I see anything else that catches my eye? The chest isn't there. Right, okay. And all the candles are lit, but... God, my weight! I'm waiting. It said something about the middle. We now have a middle candle because two and four are out. What? Said the middle?
00:42:21
Speaker
Did it? It said something at some point about the middle. I'm sure it came up at some point about the middle. Let's try the third candle. No, we just all kept saying the middle and there was the middle. Well, I don't see a better option right now. Well, shouldn't we? I feel like we should blow out the ones in the candle that we have successfully blown out in the real room. No? OK, Godboy, blow out candles two and four in the mirror. OK. The candles flicker. They're very far away.
00:42:50
Speaker
Well, that didn't work. But what about if you go over there and try to blow them out and I watch really closely in the mirror to see if they actually move? Well, I suppose that's a good idea. Don't do anything better, why not?
00:43:06
Speaker
Doric will go over and try to blow out the exact same candle and see if it changes on the mirror. From your perspective, Doric, you are blowing out extinguished candles. From your perspective, Godboy, you see him go over and try and blow these candles out. The flames stand statutory. They do not move. Anything? No, it's not working. Maybe we do need to move them over then. What about if we move the actual candle? Hmm.
00:43:34
Speaker
I can't even remember if we've tried moving the candles before, if that did anything. I think I do remember something about Beatrix smashing the candles. I did do that. I tell you what, Gobble, you're either a genius or a moron. Let's find out and I'll go to pick up those candles and take them towards the mirror. You managed to pick up the extinguished candles and nothing seems to happen. The space continues to exist around you.
00:44:01
Speaker
You walk towards the mirror and you see the candles held by Bluey move closer and closer. In the real world, they are extinguished. In the mirror, they are lit. They get close. Okay, it's working. It's working. You've got to keep bringing it, Bellatrix. I will. I will. I will. Be a trick. Never mind. Blow them out. Blow them out. Okay. Blowing.
00:44:23
Speaker
Both the candles in the mirror are extinguished.

Clue from the Mirror Figure

00:44:26
Speaker
All of a sudden the figure from within the mirror appears very close and looks directly at you. And Godboy, as you're really close to it and just whispers quietly within the mirror's ancient gaze, the secret lies in just last blaze. Did we all hear that or just Godboy? Just Godboy. Okay, okay, okay, okay. I've got to remember. Did we see the image though?
00:44:53
Speaker
Yes, you saw the face approach and mouth moved and then disappeared again. Godboy, what did the figure proclaim to you? He said in a very whispery voice, he said, within the mirror's ancient gaze, secret lies in the chest's last blaze. There's only one chest it could be, and every time we tried before it has made a meal out of our fellow goblin kin.
00:45:22
Speaker
I, Bluey, you've got your hand up. Yeah, that's literally what happens. Bluey's hand is thrusted up and he's going to run over to the mirror if Godboy says that. And he's going to look to where the chest should be and see if there is any sense that the chest has not gone, but has been set on fire in the mirror. And there's like signs of like debris or scorched earth where the chest once would was. As you run towards the mirror and look down to see where it is, Growner shoots a threatening stare up to Bluey and enters the room. The efforts call up.
00:45:50
Speaker
Sorry, the air feels cooler this time round, like a newer part of the mansion, blah blah blah, you know what I'm gonna say now. Standing mirror, dust upon dust throughout the space, something urges you on, time creeps back and on again, time moves as if you feel it should slow. DC 12, dexterity saving throw, as the masonry crushes down towards the ground. Dorek, what'd you get? 16, I'm alive. Perfect, Bluey. I rolled an actual one, but then a half thing, so I get to re-roll it. Okay, I'll come back to you, Musk.
00:46:16
Speaker
19, alive. Thank you. Good boy. 17, alive. Greater. Nine. Oh! Have you had a D4? Have you had a D4? I rolled a five. Yeah. Blue. Nineteen, alive. Thank you. Cool. So four of you are alive, Groaner. I think you're like Psy. And he gets... Eye roll. Space is ready. What do you want to do? So mad. Okay. What have we learned?
00:46:43
Speaker
And without saying anything, Bluey storms over, blows out candles two or four, takes, takes a Godboy, places Godboy in front of the mirror, picks up the two candles and brings them over and just holds them for Godboy to blow them out. And then he goes, both candles blow out, the figure appears just over your shoulder again. Within the mirror's ancient gaze, the secret lies in chest's last blaze, disappears again. Oh, that was weird.
00:47:12
Speaker
But before I was so rudely interrupted by the ceiling falling out again, I was looking to see if there is any sign in the chest being where it was in the mirror before it was set on fire. But what if we're thinking about it wired with a chest, a wooden chest, and actually it means setting your own chest on fire?
00:47:42
Speaker
And Bluey tries not to laugh at that, but he's just deceiving and don't know how to react, but he's just staring in the mirror to see if where the chest should be there are remnants of a fire. You see, as you look down, bits of wood, part of a lock, a couple of teeth, some blood, this chest has been destroyed.
00:48:04
Speaker
Look, look, I don't know why you want to set your own chest on fire because it's all got very peculiar very, very, very quickly. But look, the chest in the mirror is not there because it's been on fire. So the answer's in the mirror. But I touched the mirror before and it didn't, it was just a mirror. So there's a life behind the glass.
00:48:28
Speaker
Maybe Fire needs to touch the mirror instead. Maybe Fire touches mirror. Fire has the answer. This door that Growner saw, is it obvious in the mirror? No. She only saw it because she had a shard and turned around and was looking around everywhere. Okay, that's meta information, I don't know that then. Yeah Darren, shut up man.
00:48:50
Speaker
Is there anything potentially available to pick up in the reflection of the mirror from where the destroyed chest now is? Yeah, bits of wood and stuff like that, yeah. Okay, I've got a torch and a tinderbox. What I'm just going to try and do, light it up. I'm going to hold the torch towards the mirror where the chest would normally be and just see if anything happens. Nothing happens.
00:49:20
Speaker
Oh, well, I'm warmer now. I tell you what, help me. We have to move the mirror. Help me get the mirror over to where the chest is. It says about revealing the secrets. Let's get that over there and see what it says. It's directly in front of the chest. It's directly in front of the chest. Right, right, right. Look close, look close. Someone help me. Everyone get close, get close. Let's look, let's look, let's look. And I'm going to investigate the area down where the scorched remains of the chest are.
00:49:50
Speaker
Yeah, investigation role. Is that what you said? Yes. I wasn't listening. Yeah, give me that then. Sorry, I was typing. Have yourself a bardic inspiration. Oh, thank you. I've still got the other one. If he passed on bardic inspiration, I don't think you have it now. Yeah. Plus I technically died, I guess. True. Many times. Many times. At 19 plus one, 20, not natural. What are we looking for?
00:50:14
Speaker
I'm just looking for the secrets, anything in this area where this, he said something about where the chest scorched is where secrets lie and I'm just looking for any form of secret about this damn incarnation room. You can tell from that investigation role as you look into the reflection of this destroyed mirror, sorry of the destroyed chest in the mirror that this has been a
00:50:35
Speaker
The mirror has been hacked at. You can see slashes, you can see burn marks, you can see this thing has been attacked and destroyed. It hasn't just exploded or anything like that. It's been attacked and destroyed. That's what's happened to it. There's no other secret apart from that though. You can see discernibly the lock, the shape, the color of the wood, the metalwork. It is the chest that you physically see in front of you, but destroyed.
00:51:01
Speaker
Can I do another investigation check, please, on hidden messages and symbols? Of course. All right, hold on. Oh, you fucking cock. I think that went well. What did you get? There I am.
00:51:24
Speaker
Well, it was a natural one, and of course, I've got a minus one, so that was a zero. But my advantage made it 11, so I think that's less than before. Yeah, there's nothing else that really swings true. The kind of dusty mirror is difficult to see through, even with the specs on. They're a bit too big for your head as well, so if that bug-eyed with them on, it's just nothing seems to be working here. I want to feed the chest, my flaming torch.
00:51:50
Speaker
How do you intend to do that? Almost like you're trying to feed a child that doesn't want food. I'm going to poke this torch at the openings of the chest to try and pry it up a bit and just try and get this little blaze inside the chest. I'm going to burn it from the inside out.
00:52:11
Speaker
Okay, and as you tickle the flame in front of this, it's going to eat your entire arm, including the flaming torch. I'll tell that in front of it. As it chomps down your hand, it then works over across the rest of your body, eating your entire form. And you do notice like smoke starts to billow out from it.
00:52:32
Speaker
as it kind of turns from one to the other of you all. I was gonna ask you to roll the initiative, but unfortunately, instead, Grown issues a threatening stare to Bluey and enters the room. The airfield's cooler, like this part of the mansion is newer than the rest. I'm so confused. I stand before you. The table's upturned, a chest in front, a standing mirror with dust upon dust throughout the space. Something urges you on. Time creeps back and on and back and on and back. And how many iterations is there now? 30, 14th iteration. Time moves when you feel it should slow.

Continued Frustration and Determination

00:52:57
Speaker
DC 12, dexterity saving throw, please. Bluey, not Bluey, Doric.
00:53:03
Speaker
Sixteen, I live. Live, Bluey. I choose this time, I roll another natural one, but this time I choose not to move. He just stands there and looks forward. Splats, musk. Twelve. Just alive. In, go boy. Twenty-five, I live. In, grow now. Also twenty-five. Very nice, very nice. Bluey just takes the hit. Splats, the rest of you are alive. What do you want to do? I am going to...
00:53:30
Speaker
It says in the riddle, if I remember rightly, that the mirror's got an ancient gaze or something. Could somebody do a bit of a past time check? A what? A what? A bit of a past time check, you know, the history. Well, we've not been here very long.
00:53:57
Speaker
But it's talking about an ancient gaze, so the mirror's been here forever and ever. Right. Would there be lots of... I think we were on the right tracks trying to kill the chess, we just didn't do it right the first time. Maybe it needs attacks from afar then. Right.
00:54:17
Speaker
so that you don't get your own light off again. It doesn't like fire. Okay, but first of all, I'm going to grab all the candles, blow them out, blow them out in the mirror, and then if I hear the description and get to this point where we're at again. Yes, you hear these. I also. Within the mirror's ancient gaze, the secret lies and chests last ablaze.
00:54:39
Speaker
So, or we have to shoot like fire into the mirror where the chest was, but that there is near chest in the mirror. So I think it must mean this mirror. And does anyone? Do you know like any fire spells? I'm sorry, I don't know any of the incendiary techniques, I'm afraid. What use of wizards that didn't know Firebolt? I'm a bad god.
00:55:06
Speaker
Oh, sorry, you just talk like a wizard, so I just assumed. Even I can make fire. OK, so we just need to try and tempt the beast to try and attack. And then when its mouth is open, we throw the blaze into its gaping maw.
00:55:27
Speaker
I also can make fire, but only as a reaction when it's already half eaten me. So I don't know if that would work or not. Human flame, human torch. So maybe we could try standing really far away and just chucking a torch at it.
00:55:51
Speaker
I think that's a plan. Prepare yourself to throw fire at the beast. I shall tempt its ire. Do we all have, like, torches in our inventory? I know I do. If you have a Dungeoneering pack or an adventure pack, then you will do. I have a Tinder box and a torch. Okay, sweet. Yep, you're fine. I do as well. I'm going to join in the fire throwing. Everyone has got a torch. Oh. I don't think I do. I'm looking now. I don't see anything. Okay.
00:56:20
Speaker
Well, while the torches are prepared, Doric is going to prepare a vicious mockery. On the chest. Nice. Okay, okay, okay. I don't think mocking it to death's gonna work, but it's not just last blaze, not just last insult. No, but the plan is, he's going to hopefully make it open its mouth, and when its mouth is open, you die. Oh, you're the bait, I see. I see. This Trojan horse, I like it. This is good. All right.
00:56:50
Speaker
So I'm going to give you the vicious mockery to kick it off and then I'm going to ask for a round of inspiration, no inspiration, initiative. And so be rolling that and also be rolling everyone else's initiative order because I'm going to need that as well for you to destroy this thing. So Callum, is it just I? Sorry, not Callum, James. Sorry, not James. Do I need, is it just me rolling a wisdom saving throw? Are you ever going to go wisdom saving throw?
00:57:15
Speaker
Okay, that's 11. That's a fail. As Doric lines up with this chest and goes, you have a lock that is used and ground open much like your mother. I wonder where he was going with that. Fantastic. How much damage does this vicious mockery? It only takes two physical psychic damage. It will also roll as disadvantage on an attack.
00:57:42
Speaker
Okay. Lovely. Thank you very much for that. Uh, bang, we're hitting to initiative order. So, uh, then we'll get 20 plus. Not this time. Uh, the 15 to 20. Yeah. 19. Thank you. Uh, Oh God, I forgot everyone's names. Shit. Growner. Sorry.
00:58:02
Speaker
For argument's sake, every reiteration, it won't make you reroll initiative. We'll just use the same initiative role as this set up as this one. Okay. Um, I mean, this doesn't bode well. You're talking about future iterations. 15 to 20. Sorry. Uh, 10 to 15. Doric rolled 12. Yeah. I must go 11. Um, Casey. Yeah. Good boy. Got eight.
00:58:32
Speaker
Cool. In a minute, Darren, sorry, shit, character names. In a minute, Bluey, could you just give me an initiative role just so I can put you in in case we have to come back to this again. Lovely, Growner, top of the round, your turn. What do you want to do? I love my flaming torch at it. What do I roll for that? I'm gonna just make it like a, give you a hit, a DC to hit. Are you proficient in throwing things? Probably not. I don't know, you could be proficient in throwing things.
00:59:00
Speaker
I don't know. Let's just make it up. If I'm throwing a dagger, it's a plus five to hit. So can I use that? Let's go with a plus five. I can use that. Why not? That sounds fair. Okay. So it's a 23. That hits. Okay. So my flaming torch hits it.
00:59:18
Speaker
and it hits into the mouth and you see it cause some damage, it starts to kind of burn one, I put it in my shoulder, burns a corner of it and you see it doesn't lie down, it starts turning towards you, trying to move towards you. And it does, it moves towards you when it's turned to 30 feet and just consumes you. Oh, can I hella tribute it? You can indeed. Excellent. Hella tribute. I haven't done this before. What do you have to do? You have to...
00:59:57
Speaker
The long guard from a shaft of moonlight stands before you, table up, turn, chest stands in front of a standing mirror, standing mirror with dust upon dust throughout the space. Something urges you in. Time creeps back and on again. Time moves when you feel like it should slow. Yeah, we're too slow. If only I knew how hell a tribute worked, we might have done it. Calling Mason at DC saving throw. 12. Doric, what'd you get? Oh, shit. I don't know. Didn't hear a word of that, James. You're muted, mate. Still muted. Thank you, Callum.
01:00:09
Speaker
You roll some damage and it makes a save.
01:00:27
Speaker
I'm dead. I rolled a seven. Blooey, 24. Thank you. Can you also roll that initiative off of me, please, mate? Musk, dead with 10. I'm gone, boy. Alive with 22. How's that grow now? Alive with 18. Abulous. Blooey, what was your initiative? 11. Cool.
01:00:48
Speaker
Lovely. Okay. What do you want to do? I'm going to show. We need to be quick, I think, because we nearly had it there and then we just run out of time as it was eating me. So can we just do everything? The blow blow, bring in the candles, mirror, blow blow. I mean, I feel like we don't maybe even need to... That might not even be part of it. I don't even know at this point. Within the mirror's ancient gaze, the secret lies and chests last blaze.
01:01:15
Speaker
So yeah. And it leans a little closer. Match the world to free your DM. Yeah, I bet everyone listening at home thinks we're absolute morons right now. Well, we just need to destroy the chest. I think we need to. Shut up and just go on with destroying the chest and walk out and set on fire. No, we're fairly late to see you. We need to. How are you setting on fire? I'm just walking up to it with a torch and just going, the rest of you just kill this thing as quickly as you can.
01:01:42
Speaker
It goes to bite your arm, gets the arm, it's burning. You see the flames light the back of the chest. It also totally consumes you, Bluey. Unfortunately, you are dead. Top of the round, Grona, what do you want to do? I guess I'll Eldritch Blast it. Okay, roll to hit. I get a 12. Misses. Brilliant.
01:02:10
Speaker
Chest is then going to turn and move towards you. Eat me, eat me bastard, eat me. It eats you. How much of you? Do it. It needs to make a deck save. Nine. That fails. It takes 3d10 fire damage, which comes to... Oh, that's alright. Well, 15. Not great. Nice.
01:02:40
Speaker
Okay, uh, Doric, your turn. The chest has just eaten Bluey, uh, Bluey and, uh, and, and Grona. What do you want to do? Your turn, Doric. You're dead. You're dead. Sorry. Homologies. Mask you up.
01:02:55
Speaker
No, you're dead as well! I'm dead, I'm dead. Oh no! The boy is so up to you, goodbye! Come on, goodbye! I'm gonna cast Ray of Sickness on it. Ooh, okay, nice. So, Ray of Sickness... Oh, it's gonna throw us back up. Greenish energy lashes out of me and my fingers. So, I need to make a hit first, right?
01:03:19
Speaker
I don't know. Yeah. I'm sweating. So the hit is, oh, seven. That's definitely a miss. Shit. What a load of fucking pants. Well, I guess we'll try again next time.
01:03:38
Speaker
Now we all have to wait the remaining time in the silent room, all dead for a while. Dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude, dude,
01:04:06
Speaker
12, Dexter to save you 3, Bluey, oh no, Bluey, Doric. Doric's alive at 26. Bluey. 18, alive. Musk. 20, alive. Godboy. I don't know, hold on. Great, now. 20, alive. Godboy. 22, 24, done that, yeah. You're alive! You're alive! Right, let's get it, let's get it. Do all the shit with the candles. Got the candle 2 and 4, take it over, blow it up, blow it up. I'm gonna prepare a vicious mockery.
01:04:36
Speaker
I don't think we need it. We just need to attack it. We just need to attack it from far away. Vicious mockery. He got a 7. That's a fail. He insults the chess mothers again and he's not attacking. Is initiative out the window here or are we just... Same initiative. We've always had this planned as like a pre-attack thing. He takes 4 psychic damage. Thank you. Thank you very much. Now we go into the order we had before. So Growner, top of the round. Eldritch Blast, 26 to hit.
01:05:12
Speaker
15 force damage. Is it going to eat me? Is it going to eat me? Hellish review, if so. 14.
01:05:25
Speaker
Oh, does it take half damage? It does. It does take half damage. That means seven fire damage. Cool. Okay, okay. It's still up. It's still bird. Next up, Doric. Do something! Level two, Distant Whispers.
01:05:50
Speaker
Okay, what do I need to do? Once again, where will the wisdom saving fruit? 10. He fails. He takes 17 psychic damage. And he has to run away from me as much as he can. That is the entire health it had left. Yeah!

Breaking the Time Loop

01:06:07
Speaker
And it just explodes up into the air, smoke flames, burn marks, corpse bits, everything falls out and around the space. And finally, Growner shoots a threatening stare to Bluey. No! Thank you!
01:06:19
Speaker
Dear, it feels cooler in this part of the mansion. Newer than the rest, a long dark room with shafts of moonlight stand before you. Tables upturned, a chest standing in front of... nothing. Dust through the space. There are no candles. Thank God. There is an exit behind you. You are in a room that has a chest in it. And nothing else. Welcome back. Faze the Lord.
01:06:46
Speaker
This has taken us over two hours. That is where we are going to leave it for this week's episode of The Home Shop. I have destroyed everyone. Oh, I am beat. Congratulations, you solved it. The whole concept was you had to make the world in the mirror match the world in the reality, either by blowing out one or the other or basically evening everything out. You could have left the candles.
01:07:10
Speaker
Yeah, I didn't think that, yeah. I did have it that certain candles wouldn't cause the room to reset, which were two and four, which was why it was part of the riddle. You figured that out really quickly. Snuffing them out, yeah, that was another part of it. Doable part. Hopefully, I was trying to set up the idea that something had to match. And then, yeah. The annoying thing is we tried to defeat the chest like an hour ago, but because it immediately ate Callum, we thought, oh, that can't be right. It also reset, so we didn't get the opportunity to kind of finish off the fight.
01:07:39
Speaker
I know if you'd have hit that time and I took damage and I went on the rounds, I think you would have figured it out. And you were on a six-minute timer per round, unless anything triggered a reset, I had just an actual full-on... I knew there was a timer. A six-minute timer going on. That was dastardly. Which meant that it was fun. So me going, oh, how does Hellish Rebuke work? And that used up the last five seconds. Yep, literally. God damn.
01:08:08
Speaker
So it was a nice little moment. I think it stressed me out more than you guys, but I think that's just Mark who's sick of the likes of Ian not knowing their characters or knowing what they're doing and just.
01:08:19
Speaker
I really hope that's not a really really boring episode to listen to of us just cocking up. I would like to think that anybody who listens will be yelling out what they think the solution is to the entire thing. And if you did figure it out earlier before us, segue me bitch.
01:08:39
Speaker
Segue. Segue, segue, segue. Yes, you can absolutely segue if you are still here and have not lost the will to live. We appreciate the hell out of you for it and for tuning in every week. We absolutely do love you. You're all fucking gorgeous.
