Folly is not sure right now. These things just seem to keep coming and coming and coming. Totally a sex tape.

Meet the Cast and Characters

00:00:36
Speaker
Hello and welcome to this week's episode of The Fellowship of the Tabletop. We are a live play 5e D&D podcast set in the homebrewed world of Eryth. My name is Mark and I am the Dungeon Master. And also with us for today's episode, we have Ian who plays the Dragonborn Barbarian, Drago. What up? We've got Callum who plays the gnome sorcerer, Folly Fizzlebang the Ninth. Hello! We've got Will who plays the human bard, Karstan. I do not cast Fireball. And we have Darren who plays the human fighter, Rogue Robin.

Holy Elf on fire Batman!
00:01:07
Speaker
Brilliant. On last week's episode of the Fellowship of the Tabletop, my lord, it pulled on our heartstrings, didn't it? We had a seriously small, compact fight with Elthea. As we entered into the Galanin Hollows, we faced a number of challenges and finally came across the small room with a dagger on it, which Robin picked up with his mage hand, which we assumed was the Onyx Reaver that was surrounded by some orange crystals.

Combat with Elphir and Demon

00:01:34
Speaker
Upon that happening, this big,
00:01:37
Speaker
jet black demon appeared and sliced through Thrace Dan and let out this awful scream who then continued to basically torment Drago throughout the fight with Elfir. Elfir now more powerful than he had been in the previous fight and more powerful than we had seen him in any previous incantation.
00:01:54
Speaker
As the fight continued, the party slowly managed to wear Elphir down with a number of attacks. Robin stabbed him with the Onyx Reaver at one point. Drago continued to chase after this large demon that was basically laughing at him and he critted and still couldn't hit him. Which cut E&D if I know that much.
00:02:17
Speaker
Events then passed that Elthea was slowly getting knocked down, more and more and more. Folly cast Wall of Fire behind him so he had nowhere to run. The demon creature had disappeared, leaving Elthea on his own. And as he was hideously laughing on the floor, because Castana cast Tasha's hideous laughter on him, as he burned there, a scene unfolded, which will stay with me for quite some time, of Robin covering Tali's face so she doesn't have to see what's about to happen.

Drago's Healing Attempt

00:02:44
Speaker
And then Drago walking through the fire, burning himself in order to press the teddy bear that Claude had given him with had instilled in it a spell of healing to help Elphir to try and find some good in him. And there was a moment of compassion almost that Drago thinks he saw in Elphir's eyes as he reached out and grabbed him, took a breath for the creature reappeared and dragged
00:03:06
Speaker
a way back into another plane of existence for all intents and purposes. Upon that happening, the creature uttered a few sentences which were along the lines of him not being there for the party, not being there to fight or win or beat the party.

Warning of Demigod Hunting

00:03:22
Speaker
became the Thrace Dan. He was demigod hunting by the signs of things and wanted to leave with that pathetic demigod smoked from existence and said, your end does not come here. No, not yet. And upon that, everyone's eyesight went, even those with dark vision and as the lights or kind of your eyes readjust to the gallon in hollows and the depths,
00:03:46
Speaker
we find ourselves in. We are still playing on the battle map. The fog has been reset and you heard the groans that can only be the unmistakable sounds of the undead echoing through the two entrances to the east and to the south of your current

Aftermath and Resets

location.
00:04:02
Speaker
Robin you currently your mage hand had the onyx reaver as far as I was aware I knew you took it over to drag about dragon ever took it so technically used to have the onyx reaver You notice from the corner of the room the glow of these orange crystals that see that were surrounding the onyx Reaver that seemed to let off a bit more light and light the room slightly as you take breaths and recover from what was a Distraught bit of combat and you hear the sounds off in the distance and
00:04:29
Speaker
Tali just slowly stands up and looks at you all. You can see the singes in the back of her hair from catching herself in the wall of fire as she pants and looks to you and says, can you all hear that too? Is Ghost Bane glowing up like it does when the undead are present? Have I dropped it on the floor? Robin will glance over his shoulder and look at Ghost Bane.
00:04:51
Speaker
What you assume is the light from these crystals also seems to be coming from Ghostbane as well. Yes, it is illuminated and slowly glowing, pulsing, slightly brighter and brighter with each passing moment.
00:05:04
Speaker
Robin will steely look at Talia and say to her, how many of those crystals can you gather? She glances over towards it and opens up a rucksack and goes, I don't know, I'll just chuck them

Crystal Gathering and Weapon Securing

00:05:16
Speaker
all in. And she goes and just starts collecting as many as she can. Some of the larger ones don't fit, but she grabs many of the kind of fist sized ones that will fit in her bag. She pockets about eight or nine of them.
00:05:26
Speaker
Folly will give her a hand and take the big ones they will probably fit in his rucksack. Okay and you grab four large crystals, there's four large orange crystals Callum if you want to make a note of that.
00:05:39
Speaker
will do and as that's happening the mage hand is just going to bring the onyx reaver over to folly and robin is just going to look at folly and say keep that safe um i think with that what folly is actually going to do um is you're going to see the mage hand bring out a cloth wrap the onyx reaver open a cloth uh just come out of the rucksack and then very carefully uh just put it back into the rucksack
00:06:16
Speaker
The image of a gnome carrying an unconscious human on the back of a backpack is
00:06:21
Speaker
hilarious to me. How do we never play with that concept before? I feel like I overlooked that as a DM that I should notice that in combat that should have come up at some point, but it didn't. I'm surprised it didn't. I know, anyway, but we had a bigger fish to fry on that combat. We had Althea. So the Onyx Reavers now with you, Folly. Tylee's now pocketed most of the small crystals, nine of them, and Folly, you have the other four large orange crystals in your person. Grones continue.
00:06:48
Speaker
they seem to echo from the two locations, the one to your east and the one, the exit to your south, which you came through. The passages feel somewhat different now. You can't really put your finger on what it is, cast and you get a sense that the kind of energy in the place has

Temple Suspicion

00:07:05
Speaker
changed. You get a feel of almost the dungeon itself is turning against you. There's something incredibly hostile about the place that your high perception naturally lets you know of.
00:07:15
Speaker
OK, so we've touched the forbidden treasure, I understand. The cave of wonders is closing. So while those guys are pocketing the crystals and all that kind of stuff, because that's what Carsten would have done, Carsten's going to just quickly search the room to see if there's nothing else in the room that they should be aware of. Or is there any writing on the walls or anything like that that might give us further clues as to the Onyx Reef or anything like that?
00:07:40
Speaker
As you look around the room you see the four pillars within this small room that seem almost overkill for the size of the room and the small plinth on which the onyx river was placed. It seems
00:07:57
Speaker
quite slapdash almost, compared to the fireplace you saw earlier, compared to the large statue of the old man earlier, which seemed quite grand, the three rooms for the gods. This room seems very nondescript, seems very understated compared to every part, given that this was the room that had the prize, that had the Onyx Reaver in it. There is no writing on the walls, there's actually an absence of anything at all, which gives you the impression that maybe the Onyx Reaver was moved here,
00:08:24
Speaker
Into this room for some unknown reason that you're unaware of but it doesn't feel like the end room that you should be namely that it's got an entry there's two ways in normally that only one way and so something doesn't seem right this feels like an odd place to have put it.
00:08:39
Speaker
This place has changed. I don't know what's going on in here, but something since we've taken the Onyx Reaver or since Elphir and whatever that person was has turned up, this place has changed. Then we need to get out of here as quickly as possible, I think would be the logical thing to do. Do we try and go back the way we came? Drago's been stood there because the last thing that Drago had in his hands was Elphir.
00:09:04
Speaker
Listering him up as the flames encapsulated them and then Elthir was disappeared while he was still grasped and obviously the last thing he saw was the potential of his friend as a look of recognition crossed his face before he was made to disappear as it were. So Drago's almost been kind of stood there while this is going on. Arms still raised as if he was grabbing onto thin air.
00:09:33
Speaker
and he's just clocked what everyone is saying around him. While internally he was going through some stuffs and he hears Robin's command of we should get out of here and turns towards the group. Agreed and we should go back the way we came. We need to leave while we can. I didn't see where the Onyx Reaver went to.
00:09:57
Speaker
I have it, Rago, it's time. Where have you got it?

Debate on Onyx Reaver

00:10:01
Speaker
It's in the sack. It'll be safe there. Do we have everything that we need? Do you know everything that you need to know about the Onyx Reaver? I don't do nothing of this. It's not something that I've ever seen before. I think this is a conversation for later, unless there is something apparent in the room that came with the Onyx Reaver.
00:10:20
Speaker
I think my point is that a weapon of such importance that you seem to place in it, this is the wrong place for this kind of weapon to be held. We just had a battle with what I can assume is a god. I think this dagger being here was no mistake. We were lured here.
00:10:37
Speaker
But this room, this entire complex appears to have been set up to protect, to make getting the Onyx Reaver a reward, and this is the wrong room for it to be placed in. I agree. I would say that it was placed here for us. I don't think this was the final resting place of the Onyx Reaver originally.
00:10:59
Speaker
As Ghostbane gets, I assume, Mark, brighter, Robin is just going to look at the group and just hold out Ghostbane and say, I think the time for debating this might be later, friends. I think it's time we leave. The light of Ghostbane is now pretty much illuminating the room, casting foreshadows behind the four pillars of this small space. My point is, if we leave too early, what if you leave behind crucial information you need to use Ghostbane for whatever it is you're using it for?
00:11:29
Speaker
out of character now. I don't think you've explained what you're using GoSpain for to the rest of us. It's not GoSpain. It's the Onyx Reaver. I meant Onyx Reaver, but you've not explained to the rest of what you're using the Onyx Reaver for, have you? Gosh, Dan, it's a... Sorry to answer that question. None of us have, unless...
00:11:45
Speaker
None of us know. I don't think any of us know. You guys have been told to get it to stop the blind, but I don't think you've told Helena and Karstan why you're getting it. No. Okay. Look, it's a dagger. A dagger is good for one thing, stabbing. So unless there's anything obvious here, we need to go. Okay. I mean, it just, if all we've come for is this ordinary dagger, I mean, I'm pretty sure we could have gotten one like this in a shop somewhere.
00:12:10
Speaker
Okay, well, we can analyse that later. Karsten, you're very good at investigating off the top of your head, looking around this room right now. Is there anything else that you have missed?
00:12:19
Speaker
No, but this is the point is I think there isn't... There's still more of the temple to explore that may contain crucial information. We all know what we've come to get the dagger for, but there could be additional information that tells us how to use it properly. It's a risk, but is it worth it? No. There is not enough stuff here to justify this weapon of such reverence. I think we have to go further.
00:12:45
Speaker
Do you hear the amount of undead? I'm guessing it's palpable, Mark. Yeah, it's getting louder and it's getting louder quickly. And in terms of the size and the mass of the undead, is it similar to when we were in other mines and we could hear them throughout the walls and the building and feeling like it's an army? Give me Drago's perception check and I'll let you know.
00:13:11
Speaker
I was about to also ask you, Mark, if Karsten could perceive sort of what direction the noises are coming from. Yep. Dragga got a 10. It's much quieter than the noise. You can perceive from the type of sound that you can make out individual noises. There are a large number of them, but it's not on the same scale as, say, the Black Mouth Minds or the Battle of Bleakmoor.
00:13:40
Speaker
It's not that scale, but it's a scale larger than a couple of merry little undeads. And, Karstan, for you, you can hear them quite perceptively coming from both ways, so the way to yourself and the way to the east that you haven't come to. You came from the south, the path then continues on to the east, you can hear them quite clearly from both.
00:14:02
Speaker
I do believe now is the time for haste. If we're going to do this, we're going to do it quickly. We need to also factor in, if we're staying to fight, that these corridors are quite narrow. If we find ourselves entrapped in them, it may take half of us out of the fight. We may be better off to position ourselves here. Surely, as a student of reading, I believe that narrow corridors would benefit a smaller force like us to be able to move and only, no matter their numbers, they could only come at us one at a time.
00:14:33
Speaker
You may

Undead Combat Tactics

00:14:35
Speaker
have a point, Karsten, but if we find ourselves entrapped in one of those corridors, it will be game over. I do not like how many times Karsten has been right in this episode so far. As a great writer in the Sanguine Lands once said, the best form of defence is a strong offence. Shall we give it a move on? Yes, which is the... Have we got everything here?
00:14:56
Speaker
And I'm just going to have a quick swig, if you don't mind. And Folly is just going to pull out Nutsack, the last potion of greater healing that he has, and basically chug that down. Are those the only ones we've got? I have one. I've hung onto it for quite a while.
00:15:16
Speaker
Yes, Drago. Why are you in that rucksack? Can you give me your next reaver? Folly's going to look kind of, not cautious, but questionably at Robin as well. This, but still going to bring it out. With Mage Hand, it just basically brings out the cloth and floats it over to Drago. Thank you. We've had things going missing from rucksacks and bags before. This is too important not to be kept on a person. Do you want me to have a look at it? Drago will unwrap it and just
00:15:48
Speaker
I mean I'd love to investigate it too but we have got things to move towards. Do you want some time with it later? If we're going down the path that we've not trodden yet I would suggest we form some form of rank.
00:16:02
Speaker
I will go first if you like, but we will need someone strong at our back. I would highly recommend Drago does that. Well, I was going to say, it doesn't matter. It depends which you would prefer at the front. I mean, if the enemies come from the front, if you're there, Drago may struggle to get you. Can you not shoot over our heads if you're at the back? I don't know.
00:16:25
Speaker
i look down at the glowing sword and go i don't think my bow is going to be much in the equation for this one but go spain will be okay you can go at the front if you want to take point that's fine i have no problem bringing up the rear
00:16:37
Speaker
Let's remember, let's also remind ourselves that they're coming from both ways. I would highly like it cast down if you were up the front with me because of your keen senses. And that means Folly and Tali can assist us with spellcasting from within the party. No fire around, please. I've had enough of that for a bit.
00:16:57
Speaker
as Joago kind of pats his burnt skin down. Tally's going to turn to Folly and just say quietly under her breath, I mean if it gets a bit hairy, use the fire. Folly's just going to lean up to Tally. I don't know how to do anything else.
00:17:17
Speaker
I know it works though, just keep doing it. And on that, as are we going to the east or are we going to the south? East I think. So we're going the way we, the road untraveled. Yeah. Okay, so just pop yourselves in order. The noise is now very, very much palpable now. So have we got Karst down at the front or have we got Robin in front? Robin, Robin then Karst down over his shoulder.
00:17:38
Speaker
and then you're out never use robin's got his shield and go spain kiddokey followed by follow folly followed by tally and followed by drago so drago's at the rear neck with tally folly's right the middle car stands behind robin and robin's at the front
00:17:54
Speaker
Going further in though, Folly will cast Mage Armor on himself now. Finally! I think I need it, I'd be gonna need it. That's a level 1 spell isn't it? Yes. Could you roll a d20 please? Nah, it's a bad time to be a potted plant. I've got a 16. Okay, it's no fun.
00:18:18
Speaker
As you start taking your way down this corridor, the sound of the undead gets louder, but it doesn't stop from behind either. As you slowly make your way down this long corridor, the noise of the undead seems to echo from a space in front of you. As you slowly walk further down into your field of vision pops a creature that can only be described as almost drago-like from, not drago, but drago-like from
00:18:45
Speaker
Skyrim style in terms of the pale, pale skin, naked torso with kind of stretched skeletal muscle across a gaunt body. The face is that of one with this hair, this matted black hair and bright, bright kind of bluish green eyes under a gaunt.
00:19:06
Speaker
Slack with a missing nose with a skull for a head the arms are quite long on bone and skeletal with sharpened fingers on either arm and it moves with a very slow but kind of powerful thudding walk as it walks slowly up the corridor letting out this slow groan as it starts to walk up and you can hear that similar noise behind it can i have you roll initiative please.
00:19:32
Speaker
Okay, did anyone get 20 plus? I got 21. Lovely, so I got cast down. Did anyone get 15 to 20? 19, Drago. Drago. 17, Robin. And then it doesn't really matter, what did you get, Folly? Nine. Ah, you're not one for initiative. It's okay though. I'm not one for any kind of half decent dice roll. Oh no. So you have to make the saves when I cast spells, that's why I like being a sorcerer.
00:19:59
Speaker
Aha, absolutely. Brilliant. OK, so this creature, Robin, you peer it from the corner, goes along, then drops down a little bit and carries on and you can see through the diagonal that creature kind of step through your field of vision. You are there. Karsten, you would have seen this also. Karsten, at the top of the round, what would you like to do? Fireball. I mean, I could, but no, look, no. It's a wasted stage. I will. I can see it, yeah? Yep.
00:20:27
Speaker
Okay, I am going to viciously mock the creature. Okay. And unleash a string of insults laced with subtle enchantment. Can it take a wisdom saving throw please? I got 15. It failed. Seven points of psychic damage. Nice. And it has a disadvantage on the next attack roll it makes before the end of its next turn. It now has disadvantage on its next attack.
00:20:51
Speaker
Okay, lovely. Thank you very much for that. So I was making a note. Tali's going to go next. She rolled a 20 overall, an unnatural 20. And we'll just be looking from the back behind, overfolly, overfolly towards Kastan, going, what is it? What can you see? And that's all she can really do from that position. She can't do anything else. Drago, you're next. You can hear a commotion up front and you can cast and release what you can only assume are Sanguine land mockeries towards something.
00:21:16
Speaker
It appears to be some kind of undead creature, Tarly. Probably the ones that we've been hearing. Prepare yourself for a battle. That's all Drago can do. You can move through allies. Yeah, but that leaves our rear exposed. It does leave Tarly at the back of the party. Yeah, I'm doing what you should be doing. I'm defending Tarly. Brilliant.
00:21:39
Speaker
Okay, that's you, Drago. Robin, your turn. You can see this creature and you just see it now just kind of get hit slightly by this kind of in the skull as it kind of moves its head around slightly as the psychic damage takes hold of it. What would you like to do? First things first, Robin is going to spend a bonus action to do second wind and he is going to regain 17 hit points. Nice. That's good. From there, Robin is going to sprint forward with Ghostbane.
00:22:07
Speaker
and he's going to engage the creature. I'm going to take two swings at the Druaga with Ghostbones. Okay, roll to hit. First up, we have a 15 to hit. Hits. Okay, it's undead, isn't it? It is definitely undead. So first up, then, it is 13 points of slashing damage. Lovely, so you slash it across its midsection. Followed by five points of radiant damage.
00:22:34
Speaker
So that's like additional to the other damage. Yes, 13. I just thought I'd separate it if they're not just both flashing.
00:22:41
Speaker
And then hit it again. Okay, roll to hit. 29 to hit. That definitely hits. That's an 18 plus 11. Oh no, sorry, Ghostbane's only a plus 10, so it's a 28 to hit. Oh no, well that misses that note. Oh dear. Fuck me. That hits. So, first up then. Apologies, let's do this again. 11 points of flashing damage. Lovely, thank you very much. Followed by, is it every hit I can use for radiant damage? Yeah.
00:23:10
Speaker
Okay, followed by one point, followed by one point of radiant damage. Oh, there's a little bit on that here. It released all this radiant damage on the light. Brilliant. So the first hit you come, you come slicing down across the midsection, cutting open part of the drip case. The second kit, you're trying to catch it in the neck and it misses slightly and catches it in the shoulder, but still causing a lot of damage to that arm as the arm falls limp on the right one, leaving the one arm intact. Is there anything else you want to do, Robin?
00:23:36
Speaker
No, I've used my bonus action to do second wind and I've attacked why I set me down. Lovely, the creature's going to turn towards you then and it's going to swing back at you. That's a 25 against your armour. Is that a disadvantage? Thank you. I rolled another 17. That's 25 against your armour. That's right, Darrin, sorry. You take seven points of slashing damage as the one working armour this creature from slicing down across your shoulder, catching you across the shoulder then. It's going to take another swing.
00:24:05
Speaker
No, I think it's only the first attack, I believe, sorry. No problem, but I only rolled a two anywhere for the first roll. No, it was a seven for the first roll, which means it's a 15 against your armour class. I'm assuming that misses, Rob. Yeah.

Narrow Corridor Defense

00:24:16
Speaker
So the second swing tries to bring the same armour over, and you easily, definitely manage to step aside after the first hit, catches you, and it stings a little in the arm.
00:24:24
Speaker
that's the end of his turn however from your new position you manage to catch a glimpse down the corridor and there are more of the similar creatures literally stacking up behind it coming down the corridor same thud thud thud towards you as you strike down the first one as you glance as you miss that second hit you glance down the corridor and see four more behind it lining up so to speak kind of thudding down the corridor towards you eyes directly on you Robin
00:24:53
Speaker
That's the end of the creature's turn. Folly, your turn. And you can just see Robin slashing away and this weird claw slice out at his shoulder. That's all about you can make out from where you currently are.
00:25:05
Speaker
okay um i can move past people can't i you can uh characters you can't move past uh baddies obviously no that's fine so if i were to move forward as much as i can which probably put me just behind uh robin how many of these creatures can i see three you can see the one that's currently in combat with robin and you can see two more behind that from that kind of diagonal angle you're at
00:25:28
Speaker
Okay, I think at this stage, Folly would not really be seeing it. It's too much of a threat. Age is going to cast Firebolt on the one that Robin's been attacking that's in front of him at the moment. I'm considering actually, Folly, with your height, your low height actually gives you almost advantage because you can... I can shoot between his legs. Exactly, and you can get past the hip instead of hitting the head or the shoulder or the arms in the way you can get to the hip. Okay, roll to hip.
00:25:52
Speaker
uh 27 that does hit and 14 points of fire damage the creature takes the hit directly in the chest and the flames erupt over it as it slowly down and becomes a pile of ash on the floor and now that one is smoked from this plane and gone anything else you want to do follow you've moved and you've fire bolted
00:26:13
Speaker
Now that would be it, Folly will just be feeling quite smug about himself now. This fancy weapon just did some damage but Folly's gone in for the kill so he's feeling quite smug and that'll be the end of his turn. Lovely, thank you very much. Chop of the round. Karstan, your turn. You see Folly run up and see the Firebolt cast. You can still hear the groans and moans. Could Firebolt corridor and grenade it?
00:26:34
Speaker
I take it there's no room between Robin and Folly. No, I'm considering they're within the squares next to each other, so he's kind of... Folly's trying to get the best angle by being really quite close to Robin. What Khartan is going to do, he's going to look past the first one, and can the second one in the row make an intelligence saving throw, please? Natural one.
00:26:58
Speaker
Okay, so, is it immune to being frightened? 2 seconds. Sorry, 2 seconds. Okay. I had it up and I was going, okay. Immune it? Yes! Okay, in that case... Yes, it is immune. It is immune to being frightened, unfortunately, for you. So, Carstan tries to reach out with his mind to try and influence one of the creatures, but it does not work. Anything else he wants to do? Yeah, there is. So, that's my action done. So, in the meantime,
00:27:27
Speaker
I am going to play a little tune. I'm going to use counter charm. So anyone within range will be advantage on saving throws against being frightened or charmed while I'm playing, just in case. Okay, lovely. Thank you very much for that.
00:27:45
Speaker
On the second round now, there you go. Tali is going to, with trepidation, move forward a little bit, but kind of look back to you, Drago, after what you said, but just slowly make her way forward, kind of keeping her wet, being very aware that she's in the middle of all this noise. And that's the end of her turn. Drago, your turn. I will just back up towards Tali.
00:28:07
Speaker
but turn face so that I am facing the other way. Dengon's deception in my hands, listening to the battle behind me, trusting in my party to do their job, keeping laser focus on anything that comes behind us. Yeah, okay, brilliant. Thank you very much for that. Drago, Robin, your turn. You've just smoked this creature and realized there's a couple more behind it from where you can currently be. What do you want to do?
00:28:36
Speaker
Okay, what Robin is going to do is he's going to step forward and engage the one in front of him. How many can I see now down the corridor in the split second or is it just chaos that I can't make out anything beyond that? As you look down the corridor you can see a thin shed of light a little bit further down and can see past the four you can currently see an additional two from the corridor as you can currently stand. So in total you're looking at six at the moment.
00:29:04
Speaker
Okay, Robin is going to take his action first and he's going to attack the one in front of him. Okay. That's a 20, not natural, 20 not natural. Yep, that hits. Okay, it takes 11 points of flashing damage.
00:29:19
Speaker
and three points of radiant damage. Lovely, thank you very much. Your first set comes across this creature. Again, you're aiming for the neck with these creatures really, but again, you just slightly get the angle slightly wrong, but catch it across the kind of higher portion of the collarbones of the chest, cutting a deep thick radiant line across its undead body.
00:29:37
Speaker
Okay Robin is then going to remember his training about siege defending and other sorts that he's read in books and he's going to put his left foot behind him and the sword is going to thrust out with the anticipation that as soon as this strike hits he's going to use his bonus action to disengage and spin back around the corner to keep these creatures
00:29:58
Speaker
penned into this corridor here and make sure there's no chance of him getting breached and these creatures getting in behind him. So first up is the attack. Roll the 10 again. Another 20, not natural. Yeah, that hits. That is even better. That's the best I've rolled yet. That's 16 points of flashing damage. Lovely. Followed by... Doesn't like doing good damage on the second swing, you know, followed by one point of radiant damage.
00:30:23
Speaker
Nice and consistent though Darren, I like it. Again, as you kind of position yourself for this defensive position to move back, you kind of jab it out finesse style and kind of almost like a fencer just trying to hitting for the face and it does, catches it in the, in the, in the skull, causing it to crack open slightly as it responds with a loud hiss at you as you then disengage. And are you moving back one square?
00:30:45
Speaker
Yeah, Robin's going to disengage with his bonus action and he's going to come face to face with Folly as he does that and he's going to say there's lots of them, light them up. Lovely, thank you very much. Thank you Robin, thank you very much. It's the creatures turn and they're going to plod their way forward and as they plod their way forward all of them seem to move up towards you.
00:31:08
Speaker
So the front one is now in combat range with you. I'm just going to do all their moves first. Drago, you also hear from the rear. Hear from the rear. The shuffling and creaking of creatures. And from around the corner, you can just make out one of the creatures. There are multiples there. I'll put them there. But you can just make out one of the creatures coming around the corner. Drums in the deep.
00:31:33
Speaker
And that's where they're moving to. So this first one is going to engage with you, Robin, and roll to hit. That's a 21 against your armour. Defensive duelist. I expand my reaction to add my proficiency bonus to my AC. That misses. Okay, no problem. It's going to swing again with his other hand now. Does that proficiency last for both attacks? Nope. That's a natural one. So I'm guessing it's going to miss that one.
00:31:55
Speaker
It will. So it takes these two big swings with its large bone claws. It has claws with kind of sharp bone nails almost at you slashing away at you as it can. But you manage to definitely remember your training, step away from the first one. And the second one is just a wild frenzy attack, which goes over your head. That is the end of its turn. Folly, your turn. You just heard Robin say, light them up and then you just dodge these two really quick attacks from this creature. What do you want to do?
00:32:21
Speaker
Folly obviously is not gonna when he gets told by robin there's lots of them light them up is going to look at the camera as it were and just kind of raise his eyebrows slightly and yeah we're gonna wall of fire this bitch right now oh so basically directly at the first creature and then he's just gonna push this wall of fire back
00:32:41
Speaker
as far as he can, so there's a huge column of fire that comes up on the first creature and then just going to spread all the way as far back as Folly's magic is going to reach, which is basically 60 feet. And what damage does that instantly do to them? Well, it's a level four spell, Wall of Fire, if I find it. No, that one. Which is going to be 5d8 on all of them. Okay, roll.
00:33:09
Speaker
Let me just have a look see. Is it Dex? It is Dex, yeah. So all of them make dexterity saving throws. It goes fail, pass, fail, fail, pass, fail, pass, fail, pass. So loads of fun for me to add up. Okay, roll them d8s. All the ones that have failed take 27 points of fire damage. Okay, yep. The ones obviously don't take 13 because it's halved rounded down into the damage.
00:33:33
Speaker
So Folly, as you turn the corner and you cast Wall of Flame and push this flame at the position that you started in on this first enemy, instantly erupts this creature into flame and he disappears into a pile of ashes. I say here, you can't tell the gender of this creature from your current location. As you push the wall down, a few of the creatures manage to move themselves slightly out of the way to avoid some of the damage, but it passes through the ranks and the groans change to this cacophony of screeches and squawks as this flame is pushed down into the corridor.
00:34:02
Speaker
Is there anything else you want to do? Yes, I will. Before we go any further, that was two bits of sorcery. Could I have you rolling a d20, please? Yeah, 19. 19, no problem. Thank you very much. Can I continue? As my bonus action, I'm just going to convert a couple of my first level spell slots back into sorcery points. Very nice. I can do that.
00:34:27
Speaker
So there we go, gonna gain some sorcery points and that will be the end of my turn. How many first level spell slots have you burned in order to gain how many sorcery points? I've done two first level spell slots which enable me to gain four additional sorcery points. That's worth it, absolutely worth it, that's a really good conversion rate actually. Indeed. So you've just obliterated a number of these folly strikes with a firewall again, thank you very much folly, cast on top of the round, these creatures are now erupting into flame, what do you like to do?
00:34:55
Speaker
Why take damage if I walk into a wall of fire, Folly, from this day? You will do, yes. Speaking from experience, it hurts. Okay, Carson, I'm just gonna use his crossbow and shoot the one at the front. Okay, cool, roll to hit. Oh, cool, yeah, I do.
00:35:10
Speaker
Oh, that's crap. Fifteen. Hits. Okay, it takes eight piercing damage. Damn, Karsten. And four sneak attack damage. It's not in... Range weapon. In combat. Oh, range weapon, of course. Sorry, sorry, sorry. So how much piercing was that? So it's eight piercing, four sneak attack.
00:35:31
Speaker
So 12 into Ayah's got it there, thank you. Cool, so you lean over Robin's shoulder practically and kind of over his shoulder, just next to his ear, release this arrow into the creature next to him, slamming into his chest as he lets out a scream, as the steam and fire continues to burn around him.
00:35:48
Speaker
Anything else you want to do, Carson? That's all I can do. Lovely. Tali is going to take one step forward, see Drago turn around and actually step back towards Drago and look over your shoulder, Drago, and kind of say, what is it? Are they coming? And that's all she's going to do from there. She sounds quite worried at this. Drago, your turn.
00:36:08
Speaker
Drago just turns, well, doesn't turn back because he's facing the area where the enemy's from the back passage, where he is coming from. So he doesn't turn to Tali, just kind of side glances. Yeah, we've got more coming up the rear here. And with that, Drago will move forwards to the precipice of the entrance from the back alley.
00:36:30
Speaker
so he is essentially blocking their way through to the back of the party uh... dengons deception in hand and he's going to first time doing this ready an action i think is the words to use here as soon as someone comes in striking range uh... he'll just perform a big overhead swing down with a sword but essentially he's just getting ready to wall this place up and uh... he's uh...
00:36:57
Speaker
He's a little, as he's holding the sword in front of him, he got heavily fucked in the last fight. So he's kind of stealing himself ready for this. I'm going to, he's going to do a measured rage.
00:37:12
Speaker
because he's preparing himself up he's got time to to see how many enemies are coming towards him he's got time to he's got starting to get control over his rage now and to start to use it as a weapon and not a way to lose himself unless there's an emotional event so he's doing a measured I know I know Ian the drugger doesn't care but does Ian care that you can be engaged by three creatures there rather than just one at a time
00:37:37
Speaker
Ian cares, but that's where Drago would stand. But thanks to the heads up, I honestly didn't have a fucking clue about that. I know Drago doesn't care, but I was like, does Ian know that... Two Drago is like, well, there's the edge of the corridor. I'm standing at the edge and no one's getting by me. What's that meta bat doing in this dungeon? Get out of here. Get the exterminator in here.
00:38:06
Speaker
I'm sorry, but Drago still would think potentially, if he was the kind of character that would do this, would think tactically about it, but he's not, so it's fine. Drago's probably also the kind of character that thinks, oh, there's only three undead. I can take them. None shall pass. None shall pass. Thank you very much, Robin. Your turn. You've just seen this wall of fire erupt and you feel the arrow of a crossbow shoot by into the chest of a creature next to the one you were fighting previously. What would you want to do?
00:38:33
Speaker
Just before I move on, I want to just say how awesome that description was from Drago. I've got real images of, you know, like when Wolverine, like just like angry, but he's able to control it in the claws, just slowly come out. Just got full on imagery of like full Wolverine going on. Hell yeah. Hell yeah. I appreciate that. Yeah. Why not? Take an inspiration, Ian. It helped last time.
00:39:00
Speaker
Robin has a question first, which is, can he get into that first stepping slot or is it on fire? You can, but it is on fire. By all means, you can step into it.
00:39:09
Speaker
Well, Robin's not one for walking into fire. I mean, I don't quite have the descriptive narrative that Ian just had, but I can safely tell you all that Robin's not one for walking into fire. So, what Robin will do is then, hearing these screams, Robin is going to hold his action. He's just going to spin Ghostbane slowly.
00:39:31
Speaker
waiting for something just to emerge through the flames lovely look at that you're preparing for it great stuff thank you very much it is the undead that approaches and we're going to start with the ones that are caught we're going to do the movements first so they all shunt up towards you so you will trigger your attack first i'll just do the rest of the move so we can just sort them out drago you're going to be
00:39:55
Speaker
Add to the creatures gonna come into range to be able to hit you so want to be directly in front of you what is going to be just down to your left to the crack of the wall the other one is just behind the car these things are starting and moving slowly but you also hear from further down the corridor a few more approaching.
00:40:13
Speaker
Robin, we'll go to your held action first. This creature's come right up into you, still in the wall of flame, and it's just pressing towards you, trying to get out through you. What do you want to do? You want to hit? Well, I only get one attack because it's a held action, so it uses my reaction to do it. So if I try and say defensive duel, this reminds me, I can't do it. No problem. I'll try and remember.
00:40:33
Speaker
okay 26 to hit that does hit it takes oh even better it takes takes 16 points of flashing damage wow nice thank you
00:40:45
Speaker
and six points of radiant damage. So 24 total. As you swing into this creature it's almost like you step back speak to the others and it approaches just in the flames you manage just to jab out with the ghost bane into the throat and you can see the head almost pivot around loose on its body as it's held on by what seems like threads and
00:41:08
Speaker
well mucus almost that seems to hold this thing in place as it kind of bobs around in the as the skin bubbles the smell of putrid smell of burning flesh starts to enter your nostrils uh that creature has uh yeah it's seen better days let's just say that uh right so the creature in front is going to firstly take a swing at you robin sure and it's gonna roll 13 on the first hit and an unnatural 20 on the second
00:41:33
Speaker
Ah yeah that hits because I've used my reaction. You have you take you take seven points of slashing damage. The creature behind him has got an angle on you so he's going to try for that 25. It's good with its fair swing then. No problem thank you.
00:41:50
Speaker
Eight points of slashing damage again with that hit. And 22. I'm rolling well, sorry. And nine points of slashing damage with that as these two claws seem to kind of come in around the corner, their arms slightly longer than you almost expected. It's something demonic seems to extend them slightly as you take these two slashes to you. The damage then for the firewall kicks in. Is it the same damage? Do they have dexterity checks again, Folly? So it's the same damage.
00:42:20
Speaker
As this creature slices out towards you, the first one that's hit you Robin, literally as the claws come out it just catches you before the body disintegrates into ash. The one behind it continues to stand but you notice the ranks between start the thin as three or four of these creatures are engulfed in the flame.
00:42:36
Speaker
They fall and you can only now visibly see three enemies in front of you. That is the end of the undead. Oh no, it's not. We almost forgot about Drago. Drago, back on your side. The first creature is going to swing at you, but you've got your held action. So would you like to swing your one attack of Dengon's deception? Yep. It would just be a simple straight over the head down. Would strike for a fucking crit. Fucking hell.
00:43:01
Speaker
okay so um this is awarding to the rest of them here it is i'm gonna roll my d20 oh six i wanted to see that how many expenditures of a day does this have again how many charges do you mean three three three yeah three charges but then what happens is he's gonna roll
00:43:19
Speaker
He's got to roll the crit. No, I will say you've got to expend it if it works. It rolls the crit, then he's got to roll plus 15, then I have to roll against it in a constitution saving throw. If he gets above 15 and I fail the constitution saving throw, the creature is insta-killed. So it's three rolls to get through. Yeah. But to be honest, the chance of all three of those rolls happening and it's been the luck of anything. Should have used your inspiration on that one.
00:43:45
Speaker
Anyway, so off the top of my head, 32 points of damage. 32 points of damage from a reaction. That's awesome. Well done. Great. The creature as it approaches, you almost just look over your shoulder to Tali and as it approaches, the saw comes crashing down as it walks into range, striking it kind of just in the
00:44:07
Speaker
in the collarbone and down through the body, thudding through this creature as you seem to drag through its bone, the crunching, the cracking of its ribcage as it tears through the body, but it's still standing. As you pull the sword out, the creature just continues. It looks up at you as it starts to stagger forward, and it's going to attack you. You are raging, aren't you? Yes, I am. That's 19 against your armor class. That one hits. Five points of slashing damage that has been halved, and then it rolls 19 again.
00:44:36
Speaker
Yep, that hits. Seven, so three points of slashing damage has been halved. The creature just over its shoulder is then going to attack 13 against your armor class. Misses. And then 23 against it. Hits. Four points of slashing damage. The first hit comes in and it actually catches on the wall and doesn't, you don't even notice it as it catches against the wall. As you turn to see it, the second claw comes crashing in and catches you on your, on your, kind of on your tricep as you just draw the sword out of his compatriots as the sword comes crashing out.
00:45:05
Speaker
Lovely. That is the end of their turn. Folly, it's your turn. Your wall of flame seems to be working quite well. Indeed. It isn't burning everything. Always make everything alright again. Folly's going to be a little bit cheeky on all this. He's basically going to just kind of sneak in front of... No, it's not. I was going to see. I'm assuming I can still shoot at this first one just past Robin at this kind of angle.
00:45:29
Speaker
Yes, you can. Yeah, it's about 10 feet away and you could get it from that angle. Just so you know, we were at this weird kind of junction in the corridor where it goes really straight, then drops down for five feet and then continues going east. So it causes a bit of a difficulty and that's where all this combat... It's like the most awkward Tetris shape that you can have. Yes. Yeah, so Folly is not going to try and break the ranks of this. He's basically going to stick his quarterstaff kind of just to the side of Robin at one he can see and just cast Firebolt against it.
00:45:57
Speaker
Okay, lovely. Roll to hit. 22 to hit. That hits. Woo! And it takes 23 points of fire damage. The creature erupts into flame and falls into the pile of ash on the floor at your feet. Right, the feet in front. Good. Anything else you want to do? Sorry, I thought you had another thing to do. I'm just looking... No. No, Folly's going to end his turn there.
00:46:19
Speaker
Lovely thank you very much for the brilliant stuff at the top of the rain cops and this wall of fire continues to burn through the undead in front of you you can hear the thud of drago sword in the grunt as he seems to be slashing at something behind you what you want to do.
00:46:34
Speaker
Okay, so the cast and going to use his crossbow, I might as well shoot down the corridor back over Drago, just trying to assist there just because of how things are. He's, I mean, he's kind of filling the corridor. I gave you over Folly, you're going entirely Andrago.
00:46:54
Speaker
I mean, yeah, the bad guys will probably get cover from it. It's fine. Okay, I'm actually going to squeeze past Robin and Folly. You're in the fight. You'll be in the fire there. Oh, of course I am. Yeah, as far as they are. Fucking fire, Folly. It's such an awkward corridor, this. Fucking you, Folly. Probably going on top of the round.
00:47:15
Speaker
That's a rage. In that case, I'm going to viciously mock the one that's in front of Drago. Hahaha, you fool, you say to it, as in... I'm gonna make a... There's some kind of joke and witty comment about aloe vera and its dry skin. Can it make a wisdom saving pair of blues? Probably. Oh, it passed! Well, I don't know if it passed. It's got minus one, so 17. Oh, me too, beats. Go fuck yourself.
00:47:36
Speaker
Oh damn. Kastan's angry. Didn't like my wall of fire. Didn't take any damage then. That's it. That's my action. Dump. OK. Thank you very much there, Kastan. Charlie is going to fuck all that.
00:47:52
Speaker
Ataly is going to kind of stand up behind Drago a little bit and just over his shoulder just try and cast Firebolt at the one that's directly in front casting a natural one on a I'll roll this on so you can see as well on an odd it harmoniously misses on an even it's going to hit Drago odd it
00:48:19
Speaker
this firebolt she mistimes it really and actually draws her hand back in actually it fires at the wrong moment and fires directly up against the ceiling above and actually does no damage to anyone luckily so that is her turn she kind of goes oh well it didn't work and then quickly gets her father's book out and starts thumbing through the pages of that that's the end of her turn drago your turn you feel heat above you for a second but you have three of the undead in front of you what would you like to do
00:48:44
Speaker
Dragga just says, try again, I believe in you, and slices back down at the creature in front of him. Okay, roll to hit. 21. Yep, that hits. Roll some damage. 17 points of slashing damage. Boom, you literally just say that entirely, turn back around, whoop, lob through the head, cutting this head clean off on the body, slumps to the floor, and slowly turns to a pile of ash. The creature is gone.
00:49:08
Speaker
And I'm going to the creature that hit me in half cover. So to the left of the wall, I'm going to strike at him. So he's got cover, but I'm not moving from my position. Cool. No problem.

Powerful Spell Unleashing

00:49:20
Speaker
Fifteen. Take that as you will with the hole. As you swing Dengon's deceptions down, the angles really awkward in the corridor quite small. And as you try and keep the sword close to your back, as you bring it down, it clings against the wall behind you, actually, and causes the sword to kind of catch a little bit as you grunt to yourself. And unfortunately, the attack doesn't hit.
00:49:38
Speaker
so you miss that attack. He kind of just goes and tries to shake it off, readies his stance to bring on the next challenger to Drago's corridor. Corridor of death. Brilliant, thanks Drago. Robin, your turn. This wall of fire is eviscerating those in front of you and their heat now is pummeling against your face the second time in only a matter of minutes that you felt the incredible power of Folly's firewall nearby. What would you like to do?
00:50:05
Speaker
What was the final, what was the decision on drinking potions? Action or bonus action? Bonus action. Okay as a bonus action you'll see Robin fall back slightly against the wall from those two big hits last time and he's just going to take the potion off his shoulder, bite the corkscrew out the top of it and just down it for 4d4 plus four warp of healing. Five. He regains 14 hit points and then takes his hand back to Ghostbane
00:50:31
Speaker
and is again primed, ready for something to come round that corner. He is holding his action. Okie dokie. Here's the undead's turn. And these creatures thud on up and to your dismay, the wall of fire continues to burn and the wall of enemies continue to make their way towards you, filling the corridor once again. This creature in the very front is going to take an attack against you, Robin. I get my hold one first, don't I?
00:50:59
Speaker
Oh, sorry, you had a held action. Apologies, yeah, of course. 29 to hit. Yep, that hits. 15 points of slashing damage. 15 points of slashing damage. As you get your hand back on the ghost plane after finishing off that lovely Coca-Cola-flavored healing potion, you just feel reinvigorated and you swing the sword kind of up at an angle from your bottom right to top left, and it cuts the jaw and face and eye open, causing the skull to split apart as it falls.
00:51:27
Speaker
to the ground uh still engulfed in flame uh it's gone it's dead ironically the one time i didn't need it it did 10 points of radiant damage oh no well maybe that's why it was such a good hit it just it just the gods helped you on that attack fantastic good stuff uh the creature behind is going to attack
00:51:45
Speaker
roll to attack again but you've got the plus two to AC because it's kind of at that awkward cover angle uh 24 against your armor class uh reaction defensive list no problem so you managed to pull up ghostbend just in time and knock that attack off 26 against the drama class i'm rolling i'll start that was an 18 that one he's got plus eight um 10 points slashing damage you're rolling like a king yeah t p k t p k
00:52:18
Speaker
Lovely. That's all he's going to do as they've moved up in the corridor. Drago, the ones that are near you have started to move up as well. The creature has already hit you, stays where it is, but the one in front of you is replaced by another as they all kind of crowd in trying to get a piece of the Drago ass. No, just not the Drago ass, just the Drago, the living. And they are...
00:52:37
Speaker
So that was, did you get that Darren? That was a, yeah, I've done it.
00:52:44
Speaker
I said it, then I was like, what am I on? What am I on about? It's been a long, it's been a long ass Friday. I'll say that. Right. We're going to go. It's not presenting. Can I just get to the audience? He's not bent over ready. Come at me. Come at me, bitches. So we're going to go top to bottom. I'll go from the bottom one first. That is an 11 against drama class and a 12 against drama class. Both miss. Yeah. All my good roles. I'm now expended them all. The middle one, 15 against drama class and 17 against drama class.
00:53:14
Speaker
that is he's facing straight on isn't he yeah that's one facing straight on that hits oh does it oh shit i thought i'd miss meets the beats four points of slashing damage and then the top guy you're plus two to that that's better unnatural 20 against rama fuck yeah that hits nine
00:53:30
Speaker
Four points of slashing damage again, and 23 against your armor class. Yeah that hits. Six points of slashing damage. They're slow, they're cumbersome, but these attacks are coming in with quite consistent thuds against you as they start to kind of crowd on your position slightly there. That is the end of the undead's turn. Folly. Oh, the wall of fire kicks in, doesn't it? Moose only does. Boom. The first one disappears.
00:53:57
Speaker
as it again is ensconced in flame and the creatures behind it that have voluntarily walked into it take the damage she previously rolled, sans the dexterity saving throw. But they're still moving forward, they're still marching forward. That is the end of the undead's turn. Folly, your turn. What do you like to do? Folly is not sure right now. These things just seem to keep coming and coming and coming. Totally a sex tape.
00:54:26
Speaker
Folly in. This thing keeps coming, coming and coming. Band in the Sanguine Lands. Oh Lord, you all disgust me. Rated S for stock magic themes.
00:54:43
Speaker
Yeah, okay. Folly, at this point, the spell's been going on for quite a decent bit of time. Folly's getting frustrated, getting angry that we haven't been able to push forward. Did not get in anywhere at the moment. He's going to pause for a second. Just trying to... If I did Fireball, how big of an area would that cover? It's a 20-foot radius.
00:55:06
Speaker
Would that beta beta 5, 10, 15, oh no, it's a good sit there. If I cast it at the back here, we've got 5, 10, 15, 20. If I cast it on that very back area, it would cover all of them, wouldn't it? You'd hit 4. Yes, but currently you can't see that far. I've only highlighted that because that's a fire problem because you'd have to move into the fire to cast it and then move back out again. Or end the fire. Or end the fire. Or end the fire. Or end the fire. Or end the fire.
00:55:32
Speaker
Just so you know, you could end the fire. You can end the fire. Can you enter the fire? As long as you don't end your turn there, you don't take damage. If you willingly enter the fire, you take damage. Speaking from previous experience. I feel like we've gone back in time half an hour. Once again, like Drago's just like, don't walk into the fire, it hurts.
00:55:58
Speaker
Yeah. To avoid people who can walk really fast, Darren. You can't hop in and hop out and not take the damage. Yeah. Also, it's fire. I mean, I think we're missing this fucking thing. It's fucking fire. It's fire. You can't just be like, I'm just going to step in here and then step out.
00:56:15
Speaker
Well, I think that's kind of what Folly's going to try and do. Oh, damn. Oh, shit. Do it. Do it. Do it. He might take damage. Just that's not me. FYI, FYI, I am ending the fire.
00:56:30
Speaker
you're breaking concentration and the fire's ending and suddenly you see the embers of these creatures and the steam and smoke start to rise off them as the as the fire wall stops and literally as soon as the fire ends Folly is going to pop out literally almost hop
00:56:48
Speaker
into side of you, point his quarter staff almost like, almost like he's fencing him, haha, and cast Fireball. Okey-dokey, and the end of them, so you can see that last one there that you can currently see. It's the one that he can see at the very, now he has stepped out, he's got the same kind of viewing area that Robin had, and basically the one he can see at the very back, he's gonna cast Fireball on that one.
00:57:15
Speaker
Well actually from your current position you've got one better block of sight to where Robin was because Robin had an enemy right in front of him so you can see one block further and can make out another one behind it so you could fire one further back if you wanted. I want to make sure I get this one that's right in front as well. So basically from there one 20 foot all the way back that's the one that I'm going to be casting it on. I mean you're going to get 40 feet's worth out of it so don't worry about it.
00:57:41
Speaker
oh yes i am doing so at what level are we casting this i'm just gonna do it at level three i'm just gonna see you're burning through these bastards nice
00:57:52
Speaker
So that's what, 8d6? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. So give me one second. So I'm going to use empowered spell, which is one sorcery point. I'm going to reroll three dice. I was just right. You've got to use the new rolls, haven't you? I do have to use the new rolls, which I got a six and a four and a two on. So that's 34 points of fire damage. And they make dexterity saving throws against that, don't they?
00:58:18
Speaker
Yes, they do for half damage, half damage. Just so you know, when I was just rolling them all, three of them passed. I rolled, and not even joking, in a row, 113111 out of six of them. That's how many ones I just rolled in a row. Three of them have passed, so I'll keep tabs on that.
00:58:36
Speaker
As you fire this fireball down, the three creatures in front of you and the fourth one that it hits instantly burst into flame as the power and impact of this fireball pushes their carcasses forward towards you, but by the time they hit you,
00:58:52
Speaker
It's just kind of ash that kind of falls across your face and onto your into your wispy hair and onto the backpack and Helena who's still resting motionless on your backpack. You can also see one of the creatures behind the fireball go down. The one slightly behind that is pushed back slightly. It seems to still be on its feet. You've cleared a bit of the corridor. What do you want to do? Jesus Christ, you're fucking dangerous.
00:59:15
Speaker
to tell me about it. Is that as far as I can see? Yeah, unless you move forward. Yeah, so you can see further down the corridor and you can see another creature behind the one you could see prior to that. Because you're in the corridor, it doesn't seem to have walls, but you can't seem to make it. It seems to open up further down, but you can't really see right now because your field of vision is blocked by the walls. And that's why I'm going to end my turn. Lovely. Thank you very much, Folly, for a very dangerous round there. Right. I'm not beginning yet.
00:59:43
Speaker
The corridor has been cleared to some extent as the wall of fire has ended. You find yourself between these two ends of enemies. What would you like to do? Folly and Robin are just in front of you. The wall of fire has ended. So Kastan will look over his shoulder down towards Tali and Drago and sort of say, Drago, Tali, we're moving up.
01:00:02
Speaker
And just so they're aware that we are moving, just so we don't get too spread out, Karsten will then move past Robin, past Folly, and sort of further down the corridor. And as your vision is slightly better, you can see a number of charred undead just to the south of the ones directly down the corridor, a couple more of them there. So now you can see, you can see five then. Fireballs, fireballs. And we've got to throw a fireball down the road.
01:00:27
Speaker
This episode is sponsored by Petul for all your fire needs.
01:00:47
Speaker
its origin point will be that the second one on that back top row. No problem. Just so it encapsulates any that I can't see ahead of me. So essentially it goes to, yeah, so it goes four squares back towards me. And just in case it's the running around the corner, if you know what I mean. No problem. Okay. So I'm going to cast this at fourth level.
01:01:10
Speaker
So can they all make deck saving throws please? DCS17. Oh my lord. You sounded like a Japanese anime doing his final move, by the way, when you were running down the corridor doing a cricket arm throw. And there goes the fireball as you swing your arm around. I completely love that image right there. So do. That's fucking brilliant.
01:01:32
Speaker
It is 36 points worth of damage unless they make a save. I kind of roll group roll for them. They actually did roll 16, which wasn't too bad. If it was ridiculous, they would have rolled separately, but they failed. And so many of them that you can see, you fought caster. And as the as the smoke and ash and the brightness of the light of the fireball subsides, you look around at the space, you can see down this corridor and you seem to have killed them all off. Anything else you want to do from your position, Karsten?
01:01:56
Speaker
I think it's safe to push on and Karsten will then use the last 10 feet of his movement just to get to there. Where you're kind of on the precipice of the doorway of the of the space and within the doorway yeah and you can see into the room.
01:02:12
Speaker
and the room as you step down the corner is filled literally to the brim except for these two large scorch marks on the floor which seem to have cleared off spaces of the undead the room which is about a 25 by 40 foot sized room is literally filled shoulder to shoulder like some weird undead disco of the undead you can see cast down a little bit down the corridor
01:02:37
Speaker
to the east which leads off from the space and there are more entering or trying to push through from that room. So obviously Karsten would have, I've moved the first five feet, if I see all that fucking stuff I'm not gonna like stand there with my dick in my hand. What are you gonna do? What would your reaction be when you walk into a room full of undead? I think, I mean if I can't stop before I do my last five feet then
01:03:02
Speaker
Carson's gonna be still at the doorway then his hand his mouth just hits hits the floor It depends whether I see enough five feet in to go maybe not Well, would he have stopped and just done five feet and then five feet? No, he would have just walked forward and see what happens so He's gonna sort of his mouth hits the floor and he sort of goes ah
01:03:28
Speaker
I bet not even loud enough for anyone else to hear, but just loud enough for Kastan to hear his own thoughts. I think a little bit of Wii comes out. I think so. Kastan has a habit of incontinence recently, hasn't he? Hey, look, he's another seasoned adventurer. OK, lovely. Sorry, I was just counting them up to see how many I had down. Kastan, thank you very much. Over to Tali with what seems like the minuscule few that are on that side. Tali is going to look again towards the enemy that's directly in front of Drago at the rear and try another Firebolt.
01:03:58
Speaker
Oh, that's better. That is a 19 and what she's going to hit. She rolled full damage. That's 16 points of fire damage against the creature in front. Yes. Lovely. Tali's then going to kind of give herself a little mental pat on the back. Not that anyone would be able to see that, but I think you'd all know she would. And Draghi, you see this creature in front of you just take like a fireball to the groin area as she kind of leans around your hip and casts the spell directly at it.
01:04:24
Speaker
and then she moves back into safety just behind you there. That is the end of her turn. Drago, it is your turn.
01:04:31
Speaker
Draggo just, without looking at her, goes, that's more fucking like it! And swings down with Dengon's Deception at the guy in front of him. Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! No! He's going to, uh, after the fire hits, he's, uh, actually gonna take inspiration off Tali, take Dengon's Deception, just hold it with one hand to the side of the wall, and then inhale and breathe out across the thr... One, two, three. Hit them all.
01:05:00
Speaker
He'd hit them all, breathe out his icy dragon breath. So this guy is just kind of bursting to flame around the crotch and then all of a sudden this fucking hell freezes over, comes across them as Drago just stands in front of him and just, he cranes his neck forward as all this icy cold breath and icicles just start piling out of his mouth. So as he does that you're gonna have to make a con DC 16 saving throw for me please.
01:05:28
Speaker
One passes and we'll say for argument's sake it's the back one because he's protected by the three in front that fail. Okay, so everyone apart from that one who takes half damage is going to take 17 and the one that did pass is 8.
01:05:44
Speaker
points of freezing frozen ice damage, whatever that is. Amazing. And then he'll ready his stance again, dang onto deception in front of him. Awesome. So the first creature in front of you is tied, and the other two have taken quite a substantial bit of ice frost damage from that as you continue to hold the rear. Classic.
01:06:04
Speaker
drago style thank you very much robin and you see a cast and stand still at the corridor entrance that you have now cleared along with folly and castan what would you like to do robin will emerge from the corner he will walk very slowly or he will walk down to this point and he will
01:06:24
Speaker
hear what's going on in front of Kastan, he'll walk into the room and he will say, take out to Kastan very calmly, take out as many as you can, if anything happens to me, run.

Overwhelming Undead Escape

01:06:37
Speaker
And Robin will just brace his shield and take the dodge action to just try and hold them off. Thank you very much, Robin. It's their turn. Bear with.
01:06:47
Speaker
but they're moving into attack position. The undead amass around you, Robin, as you are engulfed from three sides in this room, you notice that the corridor from the other side continues to funnel in more and more of the undead as you are surrounded. They're all going to try and hit you, obviously. They're all going to be hitting, but you've taken the dodge action. Does that work for all attacks? Every attack is disadvantage. Robin's effectively bottlenecked the door with his shield. Oh, so I rolled a 20, then a 1, so that misses.
01:07:17
Speaker
19 against your armour class. Miss. Is that with you, Daniel? Yes, disadvantage, yeah. Yeah, that defensive duelist. So Robin just backs up from the first one and misses. Just a second hit. The second creature that's directly in front of you is going to roll... 18-14. 22 against your armour class. That'll hit. 10 points of slashing damage.
01:07:39
Speaker
They're all at disadvantage, yeah? Oh yeah, they're all at disadvantage. So that's 12 against your armor class is going to miss. And the last hit from the creature below you is going to be either a 7 or a 13. So it's a 7, 15 against your armor class. Miss. Cool. So that's all the damage.
01:07:54
Speaker
you take from those three as they kind of reach over and try and keep slashing at you as the noise of these creatures really starts to overpower you as these creatures that are slightly taller than you as well start to close in on you, Robin is cast and you see this just wave of undead just approach upon Robin just in front of you there. That is Robin's leg starts to buckle as he's hit. He's not going to last much longer and that would be quite apparent. He's literally just holding his shield in the doorway as best as he can to keep the creatures back.
01:08:23
Speaker
to the rear of the group, Tali and Drago, the creature that managed to miss the spell of Drago is going to fill the gap and all three are going to take a swing. Either the first one will go from bottom to top like usual. So AC to the bottom one, AC for the top one. Here we go. First attack is a 19. That hits still.
01:08:41
Speaker
2 points of slashing damage. And the second one was then 10 against Rama class, which is going to miss. The one in front of you, so normal AC, is going to be a 21. 4 points of slashing damage, and then 20 unnatural. 4 points of slashing damage from that one. The one above, which has the AC plus 2 for you, is a 20 unnatural. It's 12. 5 points, so that's half, that's 2 points of slashing damage. And a...
01:09:09
Speaker
against your armor class, and I guess that's going to miss. Misses. Lovely. So these creatures, despite being frozen, you can see the articles kind of forming on the gaps and crevices within it, within this kind of rib cage and skull and everything, filling it all with this icy brittleness. They continue to swing at you in just the speed, actually, the slowness and suddenness, but the actual speed of the attacks seem to still catch you off guard slightly. You still don't expect them to move that quickly in attack. That is the end of their turn. Folly.
01:09:38
Speaker
This is your turn. You look ahead and just see, despite Kastan clearing a big gap, the undead have kind of waved back over Rodman, who seems to stand stoically in front of them. And you can see, your perception is good enough, his right knee just buckled quickly under the pressure of the undead that are approaching. What would you like to do?
01:09:54
Speaker
Can I ask, how high a ceiling do we have here? It's 25 feet tall and above you it is not the kind of finished stonework that you can see all around you but more of just a rough ceiling of rock. A rough ceiling of rock but 25 feet high, how tall are these things? These are about, yeah, six, seven foot tall, yeah. And obviously with a reach of five foot? Yeah. Okay.
01:10:22
Speaker
I love it when Callum starts to ask these sort of questions because he's gauging something catastrophic. Not catastrophic this time, possibly more just, I don't know, I don't want to say clever because I don't know if it is clever, but just possibly slightly simplistic.
01:10:41
Speaker
Things run through Folly's mind at this point. He's seen Robin who's basically just kind of put himself forward to try and clearly make sure that we all get out. He's basically telling us to run. He's blocking any way forward for us and he's trying to block them from coming back as well. So what Folly is going to do is going to move forward in between, as it were, for just the purposes of the spell.
01:11:12
Speaker
You won't be able to do that because you'll have to kind of stop and do the spell and you'd have to be in a free space unfortunately because I take it by to use an action you've got to be in a square that's kind of usable and habitable so you'd have to be in the square just behind cast and unfortunately

Spell Casting Setup Discussion

01:11:28
Speaker
for that. You've got to be like two sizes smaller than a thing to actually...
01:11:32
Speaker
If you were shrunk down even smaller, then yes, you could occupy it. Or you made Kastan big, you could then occupy it. Okay, let me just have a look at something then. Here we go. I can pass through people, can't I? Yeah, you can pass through, but you can't then stop and do an action within the square because it's like you're starting random, but to actually set up the spell, you have to set yourself down and do the semantic or component part of your spell.
01:11:57
Speaker
Oh, I'm looking forward to this.

Rule Bending and Creativity

01:11:58
Speaker
I'm looking forward to this. Callum's like, give me a second. Yeah, he's cracking his knuckles and his head, shifting it left and right as a boxer would before delivering a KO punch. How much can I cheat before Mark stops me? He's taking all these fifth level spells that he's already given. He's wiping them off D&D Beyond. All of a sudden, his fucking sorcery points are going through the roof. I've got 50 sorcery points. I've just found them on the floor. What are they doing there?
01:12:25
Speaker
And I've just found 100 HP from this potion of stock magic that I brewed. I didn't tell you, Mark, but I brewed it. I've brewed it. It was perfect. Now, I'm trying to think of something that I can do. I can't do it that way, though. He wouldn't leave. Literally, if you'll permit me, this is the only way I can see you can do it. And it's up to you if you want to let me do it.
01:12:48
Speaker
I literally want to try and get a hand to both Karsten and Robin for a second. A what? I just want to get my hands on Karsten and Robin for a second, literally. One hand on Karsten, one hand on Robin, I want to run in, do that. Okay. If you let me do that. This is what you're going to do. And this only works because you're tiddly. And this

Folly's Daring Spell Setup

01:13:10
Speaker
does cause another issue. You have to put down Helena.
01:13:13
Speaker
You put down Helena, I will permit you to run in, slide on your back, slide on your backpack, so you're like at Kastan's groin, reach up and just put your hand on his thigh and reach out and grab Robin's leg, so you can touch them both. But to do so, you cannot do that with Helena on your back. You'll have to... Folly's gonna do it then. Folly's gonna do it. Okay. And that's what it is until it happens. Now, to make sure this works, you're putting down the backpack, and I'm gonna make you roll a dexterity save in order to make this more...
01:13:42
Speaker
Well, think about what it is. You're sliding between the legs of another character. You're not the most athletic, but it's, you know, it's like any others. No, sorry, it's going to be not dexterity. It's going to be either athletics or acrobatics. I'll let you pick to manage to slide between the legs of this character. So I will set the DC now. It is written out. Would you like to roll either athletics or acrobatics?
01:14:04
Speaker
I will go with acrobatics because I have a boost to acrobatics. I have

Fly Spell and Strategic Retreat

01:14:08
Speaker
nothing to athletics. I have a loss in athletics, actually. I rolled a 16. Fine, the DC was 10 anyway, so you pass that. So what you've done is, first of all, and you can tell us what you're going to do afterwards, you've looked ahead, you see what's happening, you've taken the straps off this. For some reason, I imagine it's got a little clip in the middle, but obviously it doesn't, like a little belt clip. It comes off and thuds to the ground with a really loud, and it kind of feels the thud vibe,
01:14:32
Speaker
reverberates through the dungeon of the Galanin Hollows we find ourselves in. Helena kind of bounces a little bit on it but stays stationary on top of it. As you sprint forward you drop down onto your right shoulder and spin as your your little legs take you and you skid between Karsten's legs. Hello! As you look up you manage to place a hand on one and reach out and place a hand on Robin over your head. What do you want to cast? I'm casting Fly.
01:14:58
Speaker
so all of us can basically fly straight up we can go up to the top of the ceiling which is 25 feet away meaning we are out of range of all their attacks at the moment obviously on their turn i'm having to do it as a sixth level spell to get both me cast and and robin all have the ability of fly fuck me is that your only do you have more than one sixth level spell slot is that your only one
01:15:23
Speaker
That is my only one unless I decide to play around with sources points. Or two. Play around with sources points. Yeah, just kind of increase them again. But yeah, Folly is basically going to use his movement first off. So he's got 5, 10, about 15-ish worth of movement. If you want to say 20 feet just for the slide. Yep.
01:15:44
Speaker
He is going to need 20 feet of movement to slide in, touch both Robin and Cast and just absolutely anywhere he can get his hands on. This is all sex tape, keep going. I'm really tempted to use the line fly you fools. I'm going to rise above it slightly.
01:16:07
Speaker
As I touch them, they will automatically feel themselves a little bit lighter. I bet they will. Just start hovering above the ground. Folly is basically going to use, because your movement increases to 60 feet.
01:16:23
Speaker
So if he's used 20 feet already, he's now got 40 feet worth of movement left. So Folly is going to butch it with another 20 feet back to his rucksack just to try and slip it back to gone, make sure it gets Helena.
01:16:39
Speaker
In all fairness, I think we've probably got another five feet left to just get a little bit up back to that column that leads back to the room where Drago and Talia are fighting. Fantastic. Thank you very much, Callan, for bending the rules. That was awesome. I love that. Sorry to whoever just made the little hell in a box that I didn't. Thank you, Will, but it was useful. Given that he unequipped something and put it back on in one turn, I mean, that's amazing.
01:17:02
Speaker
that is that that's like if dm permits me i can't argue we're getting so many comments right now going folly's broken it is i mean entirely i know i'm only considering i'm only considering that that's possible given that it is a magical backpack that only he can lift that is his it is it is fed the light when i touch it
01:17:25
Speaker
and if we consider if we consider drinking a potion to be a bonus action i also consider uh changing weapons to be a bonus action i'll give you that as a
01:17:33
Speaker
Oh man, I'm going to do so much shit. I'm going to say no. Question for the DM. Do I still have a bonus action? No, you fucking don't. You have no bonus action. You have no reaction. You've got no free action. You can't talk shit. You're done, mate. Shut down. If Delboy played D&D, that's what you're like.
01:17:58
Speaker
Play it cool Rodney, play it cool. Can you also though, for a sixth level spell, could you roll a G20 please? He who dares wins. Could you imagine if you rolled a natural one? Mark just says, retcon all that, you're a potted plant. I rolled a 19, I'm fired. Ouch, shut up. You're no fun. Okay, thank you very much. You haven't used Tides of Chaos, or you have already used it, haven't you used it earlier in the last comment? No, I didn't, did I? I thought you used it in the last episode.
01:18:26
Speaker
Oh yeah, you made me roll for it, didn't you? Yeah, sorry. I've just gone on at his mark so far. Keep a record. Yeah, I like his story. Okay, lovely. That's awesome. Thank you very much, Folly. That's all the... You've used all your if the DM can permit me bits now, that's right. I hear that. I hear that again as I fuck off. Right, so that's the end of your very long term, Folly. That's the time, Jack. It's a whole episode of A Turn.
01:18:52
Speaker
Jesus, Karstan, you feel yourself become lighter all of a sudden as you start to get touched in the crotch by a small gnome who giggles to himself and then disappears again. So now I can fly. So does vertical movement count as movement, yeah? Yes, absolutely. I'm going to move. So what's their reach? Five feet. So I need to move 15 feet up to get out of their range. Yeah.
01:19:16
Speaker
So I move 15 feet up, which leaves me... You have 60 feet worth of flying speed. And now we can just fly around this dungeon and not get hit by anything.
01:19:26
Speaker
I'm now going to go... However, looking ahead, I will just say that you're flying over that. The entrance to the next space does become a normal-sized corridor again. This is a large open space, this area that you're currently in, but the next corridor is lower back down to a normal-sized kind of 10-foot tall corridor further down. This main area is like a larger open space. So I go 15 feet up, okay, and I can see the corridors open. So in that case, I am going to...
01:19:56
Speaker
What I'm going to do is I'm going to cast, from my flying position, I'm now going to carpet bomb the room and cast Fireball because I've still got me some
01:20:07
Speaker
And what's the best way for me to hit the most number of them? Right in the fucking middle. Okay. Roll that damage. I'll roll the decks. I guess. Fire a bar. They take 33 points of damage. Lovely. So this fireball hits down from your heightened position cast down. And as you fire this down, it fires up all around you. A safe distance from you, a safe distance from Robin. And you see a number one, two, three, four, five, six, seven of the undead, a blitz or missed one.
01:20:34
Speaker
Seven of the undead are obliterated from this area. There were over 25 pretty much in the space in front of you, but you've managed to clear out a central portion of the undead as many of them fail the Dixarity saving throw from your Firehall. Anything else you want to do from your flying position?
01:20:50
Speaker
Karsten will turn to Robin and go, I've got two left and I love the smell of napalm in the morning and then that will be the end of my go. Awesome, thank you Karsten. Tali at the back of the group is going to Karsten with a fireball into the back of this creature, caught rolling a 6.12 which is going to miss the armour class and she's going to quietly swear under her breath. Drago,

Undead Combat and Weapon Transfer

01:21:10
Speaker
you've got three against you at the rear, what would you like to do?
01:21:12
Speaker
I'm going to explain what I do, and then we'll have to work out whether or not what happens. I'm not doing a fucking, if DM permits, this is what I'm going to do. You're pulling a volley. Let's play to it. Not at all. You'll see why. Drago is going to turn about face, showing his back to the enemies. He's going to kneel down in front of Tali, all in one quick swift action with a due urgency. He's going to unequipped the Onyx Reaver from the side of his belt.
01:21:39
Speaker
and or give it to Tali and equip it on her actual belt or anywhere on her person and say you're gonna have an opening you need to get this out of here be safe go back the way we came and find Kennard and then Drago is going to stand up and
01:22:00
Speaker
I don't know if that would take all my go if that takes all my go he's going to stand up and have his back to the enemies and have one hand on each side of the wall as if he was going to brace or he will grapple the first enemy in front of him. Then that's fine that's a bonus action you could turn around and swipe at these fools.
01:22:17
Speaker
I'm going to grapple the first guy in front of me and bring him close to me. I think you can grapple and push them away, can't you? Can I push? Yeah. I think he's up to 50 feet, I think. Let me just double... Oh, you can... Hang on. Special melee attack. Using the attack axe, you can make a special melee attack to shove a creature either to knock it prone or push it away from you.
01:22:41
Speaker
If we're able to make multiple attacks with attack actions, attack replaces one of them. So you can do it twice or push it or attack once, then push it away or push it away and attack something else. It must be no more than one size larger. He's going to push the enemy then in front of him. He'll take his... he's got Tengon's deception in his hand. He'll twist it around so the flat of the blade is showing to the creature and he's going to use that.
01:23:03
Speaker
bring his shoulders up and just push to create some space. Okay, what do you need me to do? Is it strength? I think it's just an attack action, but I think you forego the damage. Oh, okay, cool. Yeah, no problem. I think. Fire, okay. Well then, how's a 24 do?
01:23:20
Speaker
Absolutely does. How far can we push this creature back? Sorry, that was my fault. I only read it as an attack action. I was mistaken. It is a contested athletics versus athletics or athletics. Sorry. I rolled a four. Okay. So I'd push you as far as I can. Okay. And how far is that? Sorry. You put five feet in five feet increments. Okay.
01:23:43
Speaker
So it gets pushed back five feet, the creature directly in front of you, Drago, at the rear, making a space between you and the enemy in front of you. Okay, that's the enemy. Lovely, thank you very much, Drago. I can't do anything else. You could step and shove again, because it's only half your thing. And it's only half your action. You've got two actions, haven't you? Two attacks.
01:24:02
Speaker
Well, yeah, it's your two attacks. It's one of your attacks from the attack action. So you could step in. If you wanted to make space, if that's what Drago was intending to do. He's trying to make space so Tali can run around. I know she's going to get opportunities to attack, but she needs to get out of there. So, yes, he's going to step forward and actually, yeah, here, step forward and shove again. So let's just do that. 15. What, your roll? Oh, yeah, there you go. Seven. I've got minus one.
01:24:30
Speaker
Here we go. So the flat of the blade again and just grunting each time and pushing. He's mustering. You can see him. If you pull the camera out and see his form from the back, you can see him now. He's mustering strength. It's not naturally coming to him. He's pulling it from deep within to perform these moves and he's pushing in front of.
01:24:50
Speaker
Amazing. Awesome. Thank you very much, Robin. Sorry, Draggo, making some space between the undead at the rear of the party for you allowing Tali with the Onyx Ruby to escape. Robin, your turn. You feel a lightness. You see Karstan floating above you, and you feel the intensity of yet another fireball go off near enough that you can feel the warmth, but not near enough to cause you damage. You're not looking in a good way here, and the undead continue to pile in. What do you want to do?
01:25:14
Speaker
Robin is kind of limply hanging in the air and as in the time it's taken from Folly's turn to his, he's processed what's happened. He's going to just glance with his eyes. Is there any sign that this is slowing down or abating from what Robin can see? From the current position, no. You can't see any on the corridor from where you currently are, see if it's the last of them.
01:25:38
Speaker
Robin is going to then go glance at Carstan who's in the air and go, I think it's time to go. And Robin is going to dash. Do I have a bonus movement while flying, Folly? Just move 60. Oh, OK. 5, 10, 15, 20. I'll count silently. Thank you.
01:25:58
Speaker
That gets Robin to there. At which point does he now see Drago? Down the corridor. You can see Tally standing there looking a bit aghast. What's your passive perception Robin? Robin's passive perception, 12.
01:26:15
Speaker
Okay, we needed to attend for this anyway. It's quite low. You can see the Onyx Reaver on Tylee's hip. It's quite obvious. It's the dark black blade that seems to be sat on her hip. She doesn't normally carry a weapon. And you can see that on her hip. And you can see Draga with a flat of Dengon's deception, shoving back, shoving back as these two creatures seem to come on him from either side in the space that you found the Onyx Reaver in our previous room when we had the combat with Elthea and with this demon creature. Yes, you can see that.
01:26:38
Speaker
Okay, I think Robin's emotionally intelligent enough to know that if Talia's got Dagon's deception. No, don't actually though. Sorry. I'd never give her Dagon's deception. No, let me start again. Let me start again. Sorry. Hold this.
01:26:54
Speaker
I've literally gone from hold the line to I'm Peter Pan. So let me just quickly wreck on that. Robin will see Talia and will probably... I'd like to think Robin's emotionally intelligent enough to know that she's been given that by Drago. For my action, well, that's my 60 feet. For my bonus action, I'm going to move another 10 feet if I take the dash action.
01:27:19
Speaker
for my action, I would like to grapple Talia. You want to grapple her? She's coming in the air with me. Oh, fuck. Okay, cool. Um... Yes. Yes. Yeah. Let's go for... I mean, she's not gonna know what the fuck's happening. She will contest it.
01:27:34
Speaker
Okay. Classic Tali. Roll the natural one. Bless her. She tried. I rolled a natural 19. So plus my whatever I've grabbed, I've got her, yeah. Trying to fight it, but she's just, you just grab a hold of a big load of basic clothes and everything from behind and from the shoulders, you kind of grab her. She's kind of yoked up into the air.
01:27:54
Speaker
joining you up there. What I will make you do though is treat it like almost like strength concentration. I know it's not really a thing, but I like it. So that if anything was to happen to you in the air, you'd have to then roll like you would for concentration to make sure you can withhold your grip on Tali. Similar to I think I made Folly do with Tali again when she was falling a while ago. So
01:28:15
Speaker
Yes, you've now got her

Narrow Escape and Creative Spells

01:28:16
Speaker
and you've got her up in the air and you managed to dive down the 10 feet to grab her and yank her back up out of the way above the others. And now you can see down Drago pushing these creatures back and the three creatures that are surrounding Drago at the rear of the group. Anything else you want to do? Yeah, well, I've taken Dash, so I've got more movement. As I'm dashing myself and Talia,
01:28:36
Speaker
Again, I'll count this quietly before. Can I fly over the pillars? No, you have to fly right at the ceiling. I was about to ask, is our route back conveniently high enough for us to fly? Forty. Some of it.
01:28:48
Speaker
Okay. Well, if I, if I take the dash Ash and I'm going to pass these corridors, um, I'll tell you what I'll do. I'll take Talia to this point. So we're both hovering over this corridor at some point. I want someone else. So what Robin has done, if he's grappled Tali and he's swooped over the top of Drago holding onto her, and he's just going to say, if they turn the corner, breathless bloodied, the Onyx Reaver has to get out of here, Tali. And that's.
01:29:16
Speaker
all that robin is going to do so tauley needs to i can't move tauley someone else is going to have to go tauley now i got you right as you fly down the southern corridor the corridor in which you came uh you can glance down both side corridors that you didn't actually explore and you see these creatures very slowly coming along that corridor
01:29:38
Speaker
Okay. They look distracted though. They look like they're coming directly for you. They look distracted and these look larger, more cumbersome, slower from your current position then. Have you got any other, is that all your movement? I've said, I've spoken twice. I've used a bonus action and an action. I don't think I can say anything as much as I want to shout run, but I can't.
01:30:00
Speaker
No problem, no problem. Thank you very much. Robin, the stakes are lifting. These creatures slowly, these creatures are different. These are larger versions of the same creatures you've previously seen. So they thud with a slower pace moving towards you. The creatures at the very front of the group are moving in towards Kastan. With Robin now, oh no, Kastan's in the air. So these creatures are going to be making a line past you because they can go through you. Oh, I'm fucked.
01:30:28
Speaker
towards folly but don't have the range because they are slow af in getting to you as you notice the corridor continue to fill karstan and the space continue to fill up with the undead as your dm struggles with roll 20 and all the different figures he has on the screen
01:30:46
Speaker
They can't quite get in range with Folly from where they currently are. The creature that's been thuddered by you, Drago, is going to move back into range, and all three of them are going to be swinging attacks at you. The first one is going to attack you from the front to nine against your armor class. Oh, no, no, miss.
01:31:02
Speaker
And a natural one, fucks sake. So that first one isn't. These are with advantage. It's a 25. Seven points of slashing damage for the first hit to come slashing down. The second one, what? Two twos. Oh, man. That's a miss. The bottom one is going to attack with advantage. 15, 8, 23 against Rama class causing seven points of slashing damage. And the last one,
01:31:26
Speaker
six and a three so that's 12 no six 14 against Rama class no fucks sake that was really shit compartment anyway um right that is all that they can do the undead have taken their moves as the space of this battle seems to shift away uh corridor filling folly you're left now floating in the air hello with Helen are now on your back with the undead uh pouring through the corridor drago you're kind of ensconced by three of them and robin is holding Tarly up high cast and is
01:31:53
Speaker
Just floating, watching the undead kind of pass underneath him as this combat takes a different turn. Folly, it is your turn. What do you want to do? Folly is going to get the hell out of there. He's basically going to butch it much as he can, 60 feet, which I think pretty much puts him hovering over Drago. I'll just kind of leave him there.
01:32:14
Speaker
He's obviously going to see the turmoil that Drago is in. He is going to help out, and he's going to use Firebolt on one of the enemies, but he's also going to spend the Sorcery Point, so we can do it on two enemies. Nice, Twin Spell. Twin Spell indeed. So let me just mark down my Sorcerous Point. Making that note. I am doing, questioning my honour, how dare you. No, it's alright man. Hey, you keep marking them up, and then keep marking them down, it's fine.
01:32:42
Speaker
I'm

Fireball Ceiling Collapse

01:32:43
Speaker
going for bottom two. There's one at the very bottom and then one at the side that's basically the two that's going to be blocking his entrance route or escape route away. So we'll go for the bottom one first, which is, ooh, 20, not natural. That hits. He will take
01:33:03
Speaker
14 points of fire damage that is enough to smote it as you from your angle you managed to fire the fireball directly down onto its head unbeknownst it's not even looking up at you it's looking at the dragonborn in front of it it hits it directly in the skull the head kind of captures a light almost ala hellboy hellboy what's on the nicholas cages and
01:33:20
Speaker
Anyway, and it dies and it's dead to the world. Ghost Rider, thank you very much. The one in front of you, Folly, roll to hit. 16 to hit. That hits. Lovely. And damage. 15 points of fire damage on that one. This, again, same hit, direct on the head, but it's slightly glancing, meaning you don't get the direct hit, causing still quite a bit of damage, but the creature is still up and on its feet. Anything else you want to do? I assume that's all I'm going to let you do, actually. You've got nothing else to do.
01:33:47
Speaker
Can Folly not just say run? Yeah, I'll give you that. As long as you don't say if the DM may permit me. No, no, no, if the DM may permit me, can I shout out run? No. Right, so cast on top of the round. Folly's just fucked off with Robin and you just have the undead just kind of filing past underneath you. What would you like to do? If the DM may permit me.
01:34:11
Speaker
I need to get that on a t-shirt, I think. If I look to the ceiling, do I have any idea, if I launched a fireball at the ceiling, could I collapse the ceiling and block the way behind us? So, are you asking me whether or not Kastan has architectural knowledge to structural integrity of the ceiling of an ancient tomb? I know whether. Does Kastan think that his fireball has the explosive force to collapse the ceiling behind them?
01:34:39
Speaker
Oh, fuck it. Let's go gallon in hollows rules. Give me a history check. I'll give you this as a free check. I need to read up on the actual rules first, but fuck it. This is more fun. You remember reading a book about the scientific capacity of a fireball and its pressure that it is able to emit.
01:34:59
Speaker
You've heard many tales of collapsing mines when stock magic spells of fireball have been used to clear out sections of mines in order to make more space to gather resources. You are aware that it's been used almost as a way of industry, and yes, it has the capacity to collapse areas of stone.
01:35:17
Speaker
I would like to then move. Also, that also speaks that Kastan reads really boring books apparently about like lines. So Kastan is going to move 60 feet of retreat down the hallway back towards Folly and Drago, and then I'm going to use a third level fireball slot, my last third level slot, and I want to try and collapse the corridor behind them to stop the undead from pursuing. That can do a maximum of 8d6 worth of damage.
01:35:47
Speaker
Okay, I'm not going to set the DC in terms of to hit, etc, or a dexterity saving throw because the ceiling can't make a dexterity saving throw. As funny as that would be. What I'm going to do is I'm going to go off

Twin Spell and Dungeon Navigation

01:35:57
Speaker
a damage minimum. If you cause X amount of damage, then you'll be able to do it. Let me just write it down. Oh, shit. I've got another fireball slot so I can always top it up if I need to later. Okay, here we go. Oh, that's not good.
01:36:11
Speaker
28. I can see it right down 35. That's the damage it needed. But you've managed to cause a massive crack in the ceiling as this fireball erupts in the ceiling. I'm guessing you do it out of range of yourself. And the debris starts to fall from the ceiling. Not enough to stop or block the hallway up, but enough to cause difficult terrain over two squares, so 10 feet's worth of space. So they will struggle to get over that space, but it hasn't blocked the corridor yet.
01:36:38
Speaker
Anything else you want to do, Castan? Bonus action, right? No, that's it. I mean, I could take a bonus action and then maybe a free action and I mean, I might swap out to play my bagpipes. I can play Ride of the Valkyries as we fly out, but you know. Do it.
01:36:54
Speaker
I'm not going to take the piss, it's fine. Ah, you could have. If the DM permits you, it's absolutely fine. Right, Tali is going to scream for the majority of her turn for exactly six seconds and then hit whatever is lifting her behind with her hands, not really knowing what's happening. Just assuming that this is some kind of, I don't know, kidnapping. That's all she's going to do.
01:37:19
Speaker
10 seconds. Drago, your turn. You feel heat above you and you have the distinct feeling chaos is floating above your head. You have two enemies in front of you and you've had a massive explosion in the corridor behind you. You see entirely fly overhead with Robin. What the fuck's happening? Anyway, you've got these two creatures in front of you. What do you want to do? You hear chaos above your head. That's such a great nickname for Folly.
01:37:46
Speaker
I invoke an opportunity to attack if I move past any of these guys in front of me. Is that correct? Move out of their range, yeah. Correct.
01:37:55
Speaker
I have no choice. I will fight the monsters to the front and to the right of me, starting with the guy in front of me, dengue on to deception, very heavy in my hands. It's a forward thrust, starting from the back all the way through to try and pincer the chest area for a 13. That misses, that misses. It manages just to parry off to the side and the hit misses.
01:38:22
Speaker
As the hit misses, a lot of strength went into that thrust, tries to pull the sword back and thrust again, putting both his shoulders into it this time, as opposed to the sword master technique. This is more of a back yard. Not sure how to wield a weapon, just going to hit it with the down pointy end at 25. And it works, hits 16 points of slashing damage.
01:38:48
Speaker
As this backyard hit comes in, it almost catches you off guard how well it actually works and it just slices the head clean off this creature as it falls at the crumble to the ground. There's now only one creature to the north. You are free apart from that with Folly floating above your head. Anything you want to do. Turn and face the creature on the north and ready stance.
01:39:07
Speaker
as best as I can. This is ready stance with a heavy blade and deep breathing. Lovely. Thank you very much. Robin, you are floating in the corridor, but still at the moment about 20 feet. So it's gotten a little bit smaller, but it's still a good distance from the floor with Tally, who's quietly, no, quite loud, screaming as you come down this corridor, seeing a number of the undead to the rooms off to the left and right, which might cause a problem in a couple of turns. What would you like to do?
01:39:34
Speaker
Robin is going to think about what would be the best thing to do in this situation and he's going to think about how angry Drago would be.
01:39:43
Speaker
if he flew back to try and encourage him to move as well. He is therefore going to do what he assumes from the emotional intelligence of this companion of his that he's travelled with for I guess it's fair to say years now, at least a year, and is going to just say again to this flailing girl in his arms
01:40:05
Speaker
We have to get the Onyx Reaver out of here, Tali. And he's going to dash, he's going to double dash actually for 120 feet of movement back in the way out of the cave, out of the dungeon. So 120 feet is going to get him quite far, isn't it? Yeah, I'll open up the next room so you can see it as well. Oh my god, the next room. So many undead.
01:40:31
Speaker
I will very, very quietly just count my movement. And if you could just move Talia to the same spot as me. No problem. That will be the end of my turn. Lovely. Thank you very much. So Robin, you dashed down the corridor, flying, zipping above the air, whizzing past your face. The sound of the undead almost passing from behind you as you enter back into the room with a statue of the man's head that you screwed back on, which freed up the door. You notice the door directly opposite you that was still shut has now opened.
01:40:57
Speaker
There is now an extra doorway that you did not explore. However, the room that you enter into, the very large room with the statue is empty as far as you can see. However, to the corridor opposite, you can see and hear the sound of an undead. These are the larger ones you've seen from the other corridors slowly making its way out. As you approach further down, you do notice another one to the opposite side as well.
01:41:18
Speaker
And if you pass them actually you would be able to see a few of them that these the larger ones that seem to take up more and more like ten feet in size but larger skeletons which move much more heavy affecting as you make your way out towards the entrance of the mine.
01:41:35
Speaker
You get close to the entrance and as you get, you'll notice the two corridors down to other sides. If you're the first two doorways you would have seen, the first one offered you information about this, you notice again, number of the undead slowly lumbering their way down as you spin past it with a screaming Tally whooshing outside and into the fresh air as you make your way out of the Galanin Hollows. So Robin and Drago, I'm taking you out of the initiative order because you guys are Robin and Tally. Robin and Tally.
01:42:04
Speaker
Sorry, what did I say? Drago? Yes. Sorry, Drago. Robin and Tali. Robin and Tali are out. Thank you very much, Robin. The undead. Well done. The undead make their advance. They're only going to get there at best. Sorry, they're only going to move about 20 feet at best towards you, Kastain, only because the ground that you've broken actually makes it a difficult terrain. As you move away from the area, I'm removing a bit of the line of sight.
01:42:31
Speaker
They slowly move up towards you, cast them, but are stopped by the falling rocks, which you have caused from your fireball on the ceiling. The other undead, I will move them anyway, but you can't see them yet. You can just hear Drago and Folly, the slow thud of the undead from different corridors further down from you. That is all they can do, is that their advance slowly closes in around the remaining party members. Folly, it's your turn. As a single enemy near Drago, you're still flying. Yes, I am.
01:43:00
Speaker
Would it be an action to give Drago a potion or a bonus action? I can work it either way. You would have to rummage into your backpack, get the potion, equip it technically, and then drop it. That would be an action. Yeah, okay, so... And I'm considering that only because I get... Oh, fucking hell, Callum, you get my... Because you're flying, I'm considering you can literally just drop it and you wouldn't have to physically pass it to him. Because you're flying, you could just drop it and... Holy shit, if I don't catch that, well that's just like...
01:43:28
Speaker
Yeah, that would basically smash on the floor. Might even be a reaction for you to grab it, I don't know. Stop putting thoughts in my head, Folly. God damn it, man. Yeah, Folly would basically, as his action, bring out a potion from his back, one that's glimmering red slightly, shout to Drago saying, you're going to need this, just to make sure he gets his attention and then drops it down to him.
01:43:56
Speaker
Okie dokie, and you've got your bonus action because you've probably got six things you want to do with that, and your movement, Callum, what do you want to do with that? Well, I'm going to spend another source for a point, just so I can use Firebolt as my bonus action, because I've still got plenty of those left, you know, it doesn't matter. Okay, we've got an area of magical null energy in the old drain.
01:44:17
Speaker
I would be so fucked. So yeah, rolling for Firebot on the one enemy left that's with Drago. 18 to hit. That hits. 23 points of fire damage. Fuck off. I rolled two nines out of five.
01:44:34
Speaker
You're a bitch. That kills the last enemy next to it. That's literally exactly the health it had, you dick. And this time again, you manage to fire the firebolt directly down onto this creature as it's a larger firebolt now directly at its chest, pinning against the wall before the flames erupt as it burns into ash and falls into cinder on the floor. I do still have movement, so Folly is just going to fly the hell out. Okay, no problem. You've got 60 feet of flying movement, haven't you? I do.
01:45:03
Speaker
So Folly is going to use 60 feet of fire movement and start heading in the same direction that Robin has. So the the the

Polymorph Escape

01:45:10
Speaker
passageway that led to the room that we found, Elthea and the Onyx Reaver, you're just at the L of that before the large room with the statue in it that Robin has just flown through. Brilliant, thank you Folly. You glorious bastard. Cast on top of the round, you have seen the undead clambering over it, you see massive cracks in the ceiling, your fireball's done a good bit of damage but it hasn't collapsed the ceiling. What would you like to do?
01:45:30
Speaker
Kastan is going to use 25 feet of movement and move ahead of Drago just. I assume if the DM permits I can hear the undead ahead of me. You can because you have a massively high perception. You've got a natural high perception. I am going to use my fourth, last fourth level spell slot. I'm going to polymorph Drago into an owl so he can fly over the end. Eder is out.
01:45:52
Speaker
Okay, you have to be a willing target for polymorph, I believe. So if you're not willing, Drago, you can roll against that. So cast emerald five and go, Drago, trust me, we need to get out. And then I'm going to cast polymorph on him. Is Drago willing? Is Drago aware of polymorph?
01:46:11
Speaker
I heard what Carson said, right? Yeah. All right. Let's do it. He's agreeing. Yeah. The only reason why I'm saying he's agreeing in this instance is because he is as close to death as he's ever been. So he is... it's not...
01:46:32
Speaker
He hears a voice. He's in the sea of battle. He's not entirely sure what's going on anymore. He's just fighting on instinct. And if he hears a voice that he trusts, it's from Karsten saying we need to get out of here.
01:46:49
Speaker
He knows the urgency. He's already given the Onyx Reaver to Tali, and he's asked her to leave. So he knows the urgency. He's already heard Karsten, so he's going to accept that whatever is going to happen will be a help, not a hindrance. Okay, so I cast Polymorph using my last fulfilled spell slot. I've got nothing until level 2 now, and you are now an owl.
01:47:15
Speaker
Embrace the magic Drago. You're a tiny beast which means because if I turn you into a giant owl you'd be too big to go down the corridors because you'd be a huge beast and a large beast that wouldn't work because you'd take up 10 feet of space. So you're now an owl. You have a 60 foot fly speed. I hate this so much. And also you don't provoke a tax opportunity when you fly out of an enemy to reach at any point. Wow that's useful.
01:47:40
Speaker
Yeah, turns drago into an owl. Oh my god.
01:47:46
Speaker
and turn to the owl and say sorry hang on fuck you i don't know i'm trying not to make if you hadn't have said what you said i would have gone fuck you it's only because you actually told drago what was happening first so well done you played it perfectly um if it was folly i'd be like follow me short round but it doesn't work go on go on say what you want to say
01:48:16
Speaker
Cass, that will turn to the Drago the owl. I can't make him anything cooler, I'm sorry. And be like, follow me. And then he's going to continue flying out of the area. Just a little retcon, not a retcon, but just a thought that's just spoiling into my head. The idea of you spawning feathers and then shrinking down is a-hilarious, but then I also imagine you don't hoot like a normal owl. I think you still retain your gravelly voice. I think it's like a, hoo, hoo. I know he's this tiny little, tiny little bird and you're like, hoo, hoo.
01:48:46
Speaker
We're going to stop initiative

Dramatic Exit and Magical Aid

01:48:47
Speaker
order just for a second. As the party takes flight and each of you lead your way out of the Galanin Hollows in a rather obscure fashion, a number of things happen. Drago, as you leave the room which had the Onyx Reaver in owl form, a weird
01:49:02
Speaker
a kind of whoop of energy passes through you and passes through the area, lifting dust slightly off the ground, and you hear suddenly the viciousness of these undead creatures, the volume and veracity takes up and picks up a level. As your owl form flies past the first two doorways with enemies past that you fly over the head of, you can see them now moving almost with an unholy pace. They've almost doubled, tripled, quadrupled in speed. Their sighs seething increases, they become more and more vicious.
01:49:29
Speaker
as you spin down the corridor you look ahead and see Kastan looking back at you beckoning you on a folly ahead of you as well you enter into the large room with the statue and you can see from all entrances to the north to the south to the east to the west enemies kind of pouring in but what they're doing is they're stopping at the entrances they're not entering into the central space as you fly over and past the statue you look over your shoulder and see one of the undead just kind of look around
01:49:56
Speaker
build up some energy and then just step forward into the space and all of a sudden from the statue, this warm energy, a red energy bursts out into the space and this voice, a voice that you recognize from the voice that appeared in the fireplace, screams out over the space and it just shouts, it's to Ban Vatinis!
01:50:14
Speaker
People's Ridge New Gartan protects you and this energy just pushes back and you notice the undead in the corridors to your north to the south to the east to the west just get shunted back and this red energy seems to protect the space around the statue leading you nicely towards the entrance
01:50:32
Speaker
And as you make your way out in your small hour form, you flutter up and accidentally catch on the ceiling as you still trying to learn how to fly. The last time you flew was with the rest of the party ages ago when he turned into a bat as a joke. And as you fly and try to pick it up and try to pick it up and get all together.
01:50:49

you look one final time, you finally look once back at the statue and at the space and you see the statue start to crumble down as the internal workings of this room start to be literally pulled down. Some energy is pulling down the roof of this space, starting with the statue. It sinks into the ground and the entrance is being kind of yanked down, pulled down by some other energy, shutting down areas as you make your way to the entrance and out into the sunlight. And as you fly, as you

kind of stumble yourself down, you land on the ground in the burning sunlight and you see Tali, you see her standing with the onyx reaver in her hands, you see Robin stood next to him with his hand on her shoulder, you see Castan and Folly still flying in the air as they quickly circle around as the party make it out and as you look back you can see just the central room, just this room with the statue
