Struggles of Uninspired Days

Do you ever have days where you feel like no new ideas are flowing? You're just moving through the motions of what you've become accustomed to

And yet you really desire to bring new offerings into your range. So where do you find inspiration? Sitting at your desk, staring at a screen is not likely going to inspire and ignite inspiration. Trying to replicate what others are doing will not demonstrate the essence of who you are. There have been many times in my life when I've been stuck for ideas and equally as many times and ideas just flow freely.

I've found that when I exercise my ideas muscle, I usually come up with more ideas and I'm open to receiving messages from my intuition, open to exploring beyond the known and repeating the same things, hoping for different outcomes. My kids roll their eyes these days when they will say, that's a great idea, mum. And my response is, well, I only share my good ones. Of course, I don't share my bad ones or sometimes I do and then I quickly swallow them again.

There are times I have to admit that I fall into a rut where I find it challenging to climb out of and I just don't have new ideas. Now that happens less so these days because I have tuned in

to ways to activate new ideas. And one of those ways is to first of all, brain dump in my journal, everything that immediately comes to mind, even the ones that are reoccurring ideas, to just release them. Once I release those first thoughts, I usually have new ideas that flow from behind them. But on days that I just can't seem to unlock anything, I find stepping away from trying and doing something completely unrelated

Now when I'm at the studio space, I tend to go and do some sewing. I find sewing, sewing something that I don't have to think about, just allows me to get into some motion and then ideas flow through. Here at home though, I work in the garden. I'll pull weeds, I'll deadhead roses, I'll even wash dishes. Anything that just steps me away from what I was working on and trying really hard to solve a problem.

I've even stopped and done yoga practices in the middle of the day or danced for a bit just to get that energy to flow through. And when I do that, I also seem to release new ideas.

Activities to Spark Daily Inspiration

Now, another really powerful way that I find sparks new ideas is to change my scene completely. Take a drive, head out into the wild, head out to wild nature, learn or experience something completely new.

Now holidays are a great way to change your scene completely, but they're events that only take place at limited times throughout the year. Now I'm talking about activating new ideas in your everyday living experiences, considering that we spend most of our time working or at home. And if we as business owners need to keep reactivating new ideas, then you know, how do we do that on a daily basis? So for me lately, it's about things like learning to play the frame drum,

That was one new activity that I started that started activating new ideas in my mind. And then I started to take a singing course and also engaging in night schools through Maya Toll's The Night School book. Now, spending time just exploring other things and getting to know the night activities, they have sparked new ideas that I didn't have before.

And it's not necessarily a business course, just something that excites and ignites you. The singing course that I'm doing is online. And it's all about tuning into the uniqueness of your own voice, which is great for connecting even deeper with my own uniqueness and then taking those ideas that come from that and transferring them into my business offering.

Now this course is filled with attendance from around the world, but funnily enough, the first session I met a lady who's just a few hours away from me and we're planning to connect in person. Aside from connecting with others, you'll be surprised what doing something different activates in you in the area of new ideas.

Evolving in Business with Customers

In business, it's so important to keep growing and evolving.

not just for yourself, but for the customers you are serving, keeping things interesting for them too. It takes more energy to keep finding new customers than serving the ones you already have, providing them with new offerings, growing with them.

The basis of business is solving a problem for the customer. So offering services that takes your existing customers to the next level, as they're evolving, means you get to grow alongside of each other. Which is why it's so important for you to find practices that ignite new ideas in you. And if you can find things that you enjoy for that to happen, that's even better.
