00:00:12
Speaker
Join us as we navigate through various witchy topics and share what we've learned about the craft. So get in witches, season five kicks off with a listener requested episode all about electrokinesis or all about what we could find on electrokinesis.
00:00:46
Speaker
I started reading I'm reading three books right now I'm still reading Bury Our Bones because I hit like a reading slump where I was not reading at all and then I haven't had time so every time I do get to read it's like 10 pages and then I have to either go to bed or do something Yeah. so I'm still reading that.
00:01:06
Speaker
and I'm almost done with it. I started Blood on Her Tongue. Oh my god, I love that book. And then I was like, let me try a cowboy romance.
00:01:18
Speaker
So I'm reading one of those Elsie Silver books. I don't even remember what this one's called, but it is funny as hell. Yeah. I have never read any of the cowboy books. Me neither. So, okay. i bought Alchemized and like when we first got here.
00:01:40
Speaker
And then I also got the audiobook of it in Okinawa. And I read the um man fan fiction. Yeah. And loved it.
00:01:51
Speaker
Trying to get into it. i know that the story had to change in order for to publish it. Yeah. But I can't get into it. Like, i was having a really hard time. And I'm just like, well, I'll put that aside. Gina said that she loved it. Like, she read it and she loved it by the time she was done. But that she struggled a little bit with the magic system because it's very scientific. Yes. So I was like, okay. Yeah.
00:02:18
Speaker
I think I would like that, though. It's hard. Like, I don't know. I feel like because the way the fan fiction was written, it was written under the basis that you kind of understood the world. You know what mean? Yeah. Well, and you already kind of knew these characters, too, already.
00:02:36
Speaker
Yes. But with this, it's like I'm trying to, like, pinpoint like who this was in the fanfic. Oh, okay. And how it, cause it doesn't make sense. Like, I feel like there needs to be more backstory for this. Yeah. Makes sense for me. And maybe the backstory will come as I'm reading it. But right now, like I'm still towards the beginning and I'm like, I i don't understand what's going on.
00:03:01
Speaker
but I wonder if I'll have an easier time because I never read the fanfic. Yeah. And i like I started listening to it on YouTube and then I lost like the video that I was on and I wasn't that far in. so I never finished it. So I wonder if not having gotten through that, if starting this, it'll be and Maybe. I don't know. I feel like the way that they're explaining the magic system, they're explaining it, but they're not going to, they're not actually explaining it enough for me to understand it
00:03:34
Speaker
Okay. And so I'm just like, it's like kind of how it was in the fan fiction. However, with the fan fiction, you already had the understanding because you were a Harry Potter fan.
00:03:44
Speaker
Yeah. but with this, it's like, you can't just drop this in here and expect me to know what the fuck you're talking about. I don't get it. Hamburger, help me. So I'm having a hard time, but I'll have to pick that back up later. But I did, um I started reading, um,
00:04:02
Speaker
The Night and the Moth or something like that. Ooh, Rachel Gillick. Yes. Yeah. And I really like it. It's really good. But like it's taken me a while because like when we first got here, like I'm like, I have so much time to read. And then yeah I'm like, I don't feel like doing anything except for being sad. I'm a sad girl now. Yeah. Did you ever read the One Dark Window duology? Yes, I read it. okay I read both of them whenever we were in Hawaii. Like I bought them or I bought the first one. Yeah. Oh, you know, we're only going to be here for a week
00:04:41
Speaker
I'm probably not going to even finish this one. So I'm not going to buy the second one. And I read that first one in two days. I loved and that set. oh Yeah. That's so good. magic system in it was so cool being like tied to the deck of cards. And I loved the um the monster.
00:05:00
Speaker
Yeah. Whatever his name was. I don't even remember. Me I can't remember what his name is. But yeah. Loved it. I love this book as well. um I'm like halfway through it, but yeah, it's it's yeah really good.
00:05:15
Speaker
It's in my pile. i like I hit a hard slump where I was struggling to read and like not even wanting to read because we had so much going on. And it just got to a point where I was like, I have no time. i don't feel like it. And like it's not because I dislike the books I'm reading. like I'm reading at the time, I was only reading barrier bones and ah blood on her tongue.
00:05:41
Speaker
And both of them are great. I'm loving both of them, but I was just like struggling. And now I'm coming out of that. So. I'm glad. Yeah. Me That's the worst feeling because it's like, especially when it's like, this is my escapism. This is what I like to do for fun. And then it's like, but I don't have the drive to even do that. It's, it's sucks.
00:06:05
Speaker
But anyway, moving on from books, because this isn't a book podcast, although- oh it has been requested a couple of times. It has been requested. So maybe soon you will be surprised.
00:06:18
Speaker
That's not what we're talking about today. But before we get into any of that, we do have a little

Season Five Begins

00:06:24

We have new subscribers. Woo. So thank you so much for Kristen for subscribing on Supercast and Allora on Patreon. And if I mispronounce your names, I'm really sorry, but I think that I got it right.
00:07:17
Speaker
We think so, but we do our best. And now that we're getting into the meat of the podcast, what are we talking about today?

Disclaimer on Electrokinesis

00:07:25
Speaker
We're talking about with that, I do have a little bit of a disclaimer.
00:07:36
Speaker
So before we dive in just a quick note about today's topic. This particular episode came to us as a listener request, and it's not a topic that either Sam or myself have any extensive knowledge on. So reliable research-backed information electrokinesis and its connection to witchcraft is extremely limited, like basically non-existent. yeah um Many of the sources that we were able to like find basically came from Reddit and Quora, at least on my end.
00:08:10
Speaker
um And i did find a few YouTube videos that like offered at least some substance. But even then, the overall quality and credibility of available information weren't the strongest. We did our best to piece together what we could from the resources available.
00:08:28
Speaker
And we hope that you enjoy the episode. But just keep in mind that much of what we discussed today isn't supported by any scientific research, which I mean, a lot of witchcraft isn't, but some of it is.
00:08:40
Speaker
And a lot of this information comes from anecdotal or community-based accounts, which isn't always the worst, but also like it didn't make for the best research for an episode. Yeah. And especially since oftentimes, you know, we've talked about this so many times on the podcast and we really referenced it more in season one, how the way that we like to approach anything with this podcast is through a scientific lens. And we want to do as much research as possible on the different topics, especially whenever we're not super well-versed in the topic. right This one was really hard because if you just Google electrokinesis, you know what's going to come up.
00:09:20
Speaker
Because we'll tell you, but it is video games or Marvel Universe. Video games, yeah Marvel Universe. yup Yep, yep, yep. So that's about it. So trying to find information about it was so hard. Very hard.
00:09:35
Speaker
But we had to be creative and we did what we did. Yep, we did our best. But also, as far as my resources go, I accidentally closed the Reddit links before putting them in my notes.
00:09:50
Speaker
um I did try to go back down that rabbit hole and find them again, which took me like literally hours to research to begin with. So it was practically like a lot of these just disappeared from existence when I went looking for them again. so sorry about that. They're not all listed.
00:10:06
Speaker
Maybe if this is a topic that interests you, that rabbit hole on Reddit might be useful to you anyways. So just go to Reddit and start searching and falling down rabbit hole after rabbit hole and you'll probably get what I am going to share with you guys today. This was definitely a much harder topic to find information on. so Yeah. It was much harder than we were anticipating. Yeah. And then it took us forever because we couldn't find, like, obviously when you're hearing this, it's the beginning of January and you won't know because we've been on hiatus, but we started researching this in November.
00:10:40
Speaker
were. it is middle of December. Today is December 16th and um we are just now recording this episode. So like a month's worth of research for what is probably not going to be a very long episode,

What is Electrokinesis?

00:10:54
Speaker
but we did our best for you. so But just to start us off, we obviously need to define electrokinesis. And according to Llewellyn, electrokinesis is the paranormal ability to generate and manipulate forms of energy, especially electricity, using only the powers of the mind. Simply put, it's the power to control electricity.
00:11:18
Speaker
When most people first hear the word electrokinesis, they're not thinking of meditation or energy work, but rather they're thinking of characters in pop culture with powers, which obviously we said if you start researching this, that's all that's going to come up for a while.
00:11:35
Speaker
You really have to dig. yeah um And again, you know, like superheroes, villains, whatever. Pop culture has given a picture to this concept more than magical tradition has.
00:11:46
Speaker
If we look at shows like Avatar, The Last Airbender, we can see examples of lightning bending that is shown to be precise, controlled, and rooted in discipline, setting the standard for how many of us might visualize electrical energy in the body. So video games and anime take it even further, portraying electrokinesis as this like explosive dramatic power, sparks flying off hands, electricity arcing between fingertips, or even lights flickering in a person's presence.
00:12:18
Speaker
Because these portrayals are so vivid, they've heavily influenced modern like Psy communities online. And I did quotes there, like you guys can see me doing quotes around Psy, but...
00:12:31
Speaker
um A lot of language, visuals, and expectations that you see in electrokinesis forums come directly from these like media tropes. So when people today talk about electrokinesis in a metaphysical sense, they're often working backwards because they're taking what has become like a fictional visual and trying to translate that into a real-world energy practice.
00:12:57
Speaker
Yeah, and looking that at that specifically a little bit deeper, and looking at the New Age metaphysical type framing, as it appears in the modern occult, this psi ability is the intentional manipulation of subtle electrical forces. It's not about controlling the lightning bolts, but more so about influencing subtle forms of ah of electricity through intention, breathwork, and visualization. and It's often seen as an extension of the body's bioelectric field, and this follows the idea that your aura, your chakras, or your subtle energy can be tuned or strengthened to a point where you can interact with the electrical environment around you.
00:13:38
Speaker
So how people claim to do it is by manipulating static electricity or causing your hands to buzz, influencing small electronics, whether that be flickering lights on a lamp, devices glitching when your energy is high, and some guides teach techniques like forming an electro electro ball between your palms. Electrokinesis sits within the same family as telekinesis and pyrokinesis. It's not a superpower. It's a subtle skill that involves meditation, energy work, and intuitive sensitivity. So looking at electrokinesis and historical witchcraft, trying to find any sort of information about this was incredibly difficult. and Almost non-existent. Yeah, basically. So while electrokinesis is talked about in modern metaphysical circles, it doesn't have any direct roots within historical witchcraft.
00:14:30
Speaker
And even though electrokinesis is modern, though, there are some parallels that show how long humans have connected magic with energetic, electrical, and storm life forces.
00:14:41
Speaker
So across many cultures, magical practices were revolved around the idea of a vital life force. So the chi, the ki, the prana, which is a subtle energy that flows through the body in the world. This isn't described as electricity, but people often portray vital force or life force as a current or a spark. Modern day practitioners often refer to this idea as a bioenergetic field, an auric field, if you've heard of that, we've talked about that on the podcast before, witch fire or like an inner heat that you feel within your body.
00:15:15
Speaker
There are also lightning gods throughout history and throughout many different cultures. So this would be gods like Zeus, Thor, Paran, Indra, and Shango.
00:15:26
Speaker
And there is some truth in practitioners performing storm magic or witches who identify as weather witches. And so they look at lightning manipulation by proxy.
00:15:37
Speaker
These don't necessarily equal electrokinesis, but they show humanity linking magic and electricity adjacent forces for millennia. And you know like Sam said, electrokinesis is more of a modern practice or a modern witchcraft and occult practice. And so when we look at like the energy work basics, when people talk about electrokinesis in a magical context, most of it actually connects back to a foundational energy work of grounding energy. centering and raising energy, which is used across many witchcraft traditions and practices.
00:16:13
Speaker
We've talked about this in more than one episode already, but many practitioners visualize energy in the body like a current moving through a circuit, so flowing, pulsing, building, and releasing.
00:16:25
Speaker
The electrical metaphor helps make sense of what they're feeling during meditation or spell work. Some people describe sensations in their hands like tingling, buzzing, and warmth, which aligns with how the nerves fire and how static electricity moves across the skin. And this becomes a bridge between the body's natural electricity and magical practice.
00:16:50
Speaker
Instead of seeing electrokinesis as a dramatic, like lightning shooting ability, modern practitioners often treat it as a refined form of energy manipulation, using intention and breathwork, and visualization to guide natural electrical sensations in the body. And

Electricity in Chaos Magic

00:17:08
Speaker
looking at some of these modern occult practices, one that I feel really gives us a perfect lens to look at electrokinesis through is chaos magic.
00:17:19
Speaker
So electrokinesis, looking through the lens and framing of chaos magic, is a belief-based operating system. Electricity becomes a symbolic medium for raising and directing energy, and it's useful in sigil charging, banishing, empowerment, and intent projection. Chaos magicians often treat electrokinesis as a metaphor that behaves like a tool and a way to trigger altered states or gnosis, and also as as a system um that works because you work it.
00:17:49
Speaker
Usually this involves using a mental focus to manipulate energy to create this electricity, and electrokinesis is used as a symbolic system to warp reality and alter probabilities or creating magical effects.
00:18:03
Speaker
In Chaos Magic, belief is the tool of the framework. So this makes it powerful for sigils, reality hacking, or spiritual expression. So when I was trying to research this, I did come across, I believe this was a Reddit thread, um where there was a discussion on techno and cyber witchcraft. Wow. So I was like, okay,
00:18:27
Speaker
That's interesting. Yeah, yeah. So electrokinesis overlaps with what is known as techno witchcraft. And we're not talking like discotheque techno here either, um but rather the technology techno. And it's a branch of modern practice that intentionally incorporates technology into magical work. Some witches view their energy as interacting with electronics in ways like charging digital sigils or using LED candles or circuits in a ritual or blending spellcraft with apps and digital tools. It's less about controlling electricity and more about working with the energy of modern devices, which I thought was kind of cool. It was like a more simple...
00:19:13
Speaker
area for this topic where I was like, okay, this I understand and this I know what we're what we're doing here. Yeah. And yeah I feel like as well, this can be a really great idea for somebody who is working, whether that be in a broom closet or working in a space where they can't use some of the traditional mediums that we use in

Techno Witchcraft & Devices

00:19:34
Speaker
witchcraft. Yeah. This would be perfect. Yeah. So if this is you and you're like, um this has piqued my interest, I believe, so it was either Reddit or Quora that I found this thread on and it was on techno and cyber witchcraft. So I would Google that or search that on Reddit or Quora. So there's this idea within techno witchcraft that technology itself holds a type of energetic or symbolic value um and that circuits, code, wifi signals, and digital environments can be woven into intention the same way that you would with like herbs or stones in traditional practice. So in this framework, electrokinesis becomes symbolic rather than literal. It's about understanding how personal energy interacts with influences or is represented
00:20:23
Speaker
through the tech-centered world that we basically live in today. This is definitely a more modern practice because as we know, our ancestors didn't have access to things like cell phones or internet access 24-7. And if you've ever read or watched the TV show, American Gods,
00:20:42
Speaker
i This is like the first thing I thought of when I was reading this because the concept of American gods is that the old gods are being phased out because they're not being worshipped anymore because we're worshipping things like the internet, our cell phones, we're on them constantly and that's bringing these new techno gods to life. So I am immediately thought of that.
00:21:03
Speaker
if you haven't read it, that is one of the few like Neil Gaiman's that I actually just really, really loved. 10 out of 10 recommend. The show was okay. They kind of ruined it after season one, but.
00:21:16
Speaker
I never even heard of it, so I'll have to maybe give it a go. Yeah, the book is great. I love it it's um Odin is the you know main god and the main character's name is Shadow and it's he's helping Odin through like trying to get like more worship and all this shit going on. And then you have like the the new gods coming in There's a whole like section where like they all have this, I want to say it's on Easter. And so Eostra is like hosting this party and Jesus is there. It's hilarious. There's so many references to different like deities across so many different pantheons. I love it so much.
00:21:55
Speaker
Yeah, that's interesting. Okay. Yeah. I'll have to add that to my list of books to read.

Electricity in the Body

00:22:01
Speaker
um So looking at some of the science and trying to tie some science into electropenesis, this is kind of what found. So um the body, as we know, does produce electricity. Our neurons fire using electrical impulses. The heart creates a strong electromagnetic field that is measurable several inches from the body. Our muscles respond to electrical signals, our skin stores and releases static electricity, our brainwaves, our electrical patterns.
00:22:32
Speaker
And these can feel like tingles, heat, or pulses, and it's often mistaken for electrokinesis. I mean, all of those examples I gave really highlight how electricity is used within the body.
00:22:43
Speaker
And so when you're thinking about electrokinesis as well, you can kind of frame it from this perspective of, you know, and what is that um principle?
00:22:54
Speaker
it what is it Sir Isaac Newton that energy doesn't, energy is not created or destroyed, it simply is like transmuted from body? Right. um you You know what I mean. Like, I don't know the full fucking thing right now. It's top of my head. but ah you guys know what I'm talking about, okay? And if you don't, just Google it. But by taking that specific um mentality, and we're talking about energy, and we're talking about electricity, it would make sense that if we have electricity in our body, we can manipulate that as well. So looking at it from a mind, body, and a somatic feeling, we can use ritual visual visualization and meditation to enhance what is going on within our own body. So making us more sensitive to any sort of tingling that we're feeling,
00:23:43
Speaker
making us more aware of the heat within our body and our blood flow, influencing micro muscle movements or hair follicle activation or static buildup and any sort of nerve awareness. The result is that people legitimately feel something, making electrokinesis an energetic experience.
00:24:01
Speaker
It's not necessarily a placebo effect either. It's psychosomatic energy work, which is a real measurable mind-body phenomenon that magic uses all the time. So it would make sense that If you believe in these powers of electrokinesis, you could subtly influence your surroundings or your body based on the energy that you produce within your own body.
00:24:25
Speaker
I also think that it's important to note here that, you know, I mentioned this earlier in the episode, but electrokinesis isn't really supported by scientific research. So I wanted to talk a little bit about why.
00:24:39
Speaker
So from a scientific standpoint, there's currently no verified evidence that humans can manipulate external electrical systems with their minds or energy fields. Studies attempting to measure these abilities haven't produced results that hold up under a controlled condition. Most electrical systems require significant measurable voltage or current to influence them, far beyond what the human body naturally produces. So even the strongest measurable bioelectrical signals, like say those from the heart or the brain, aren't technically capable of affecting electronics the way that electrokinesis is described.
00:25:17
Speaker
Many experiences people interpret as electrokinesis can be explained by natural factors. Some of these things are like static buildup, device malfunction, environmental changes, or simple coincidence, especially with flickering lights or electronics that already have issues.
00:25:36
Speaker
Even without scientific support, the subjective experience still matters. People genuinely feel sensations or notice patterns, and those experiences can be meaningful within the magical or symbolic framework, even if they aren't physically altering electricity.
00:25:55
Speaker
So

Experiences of Electrokinesis

00:25:57
Speaker
in the research, I found some common electrokinesis experiences within like the witchcraft community. So when researching this particular topic, I started noticing a common theme within the discussions, the articles, and experiences surrounding electrokinesis in witchcraft. And some of those include the fact that many practitioners report lights flickering during moments of intense emotion or ritual work. And while this can often be explained by normal electrical issues, the timing can feel significant and it gets interpreted as an energetic interaction. And this isn't saying that electrokinesis isn't at play here, but oftentimes we have to try and look at this from a wider lens to understand its root. So is this something that we're doing ourselves through this practice or is there something to those flickering lights?
00:26:51
Speaker
I feel this is the same thing that you come across when discussing things like paranormal activity as well. It's really just being able to deduce actual reactivity versus coincidence. Another common shared occurrence was electronics glitching, shutting off, or dying around like certain individuals.
00:27:12
Speaker
People who feel energetically, quote-unquote, charged might notice patterns with phones, computers, or household devices, and they attribute it to their personal energy.
00:27:24
Speaker
There's no way for us to know if someone else is actually the occurrence or if it's a coincidence. But also, who's to say that it isn't actually electrokinesis if this is a common issue? Like, I don't know. I don't have any experience with that. So I don't feel like I'm the authority on this one. Mm-hmm.
00:27:45
Speaker
um A lot of practitioners also describe feeling a buzzing, tingling, or electric sensation in their hands, like we've mentioned, during meditation, spell work, or energy raising.
00:27:56
Speaker
And these sensations can often be dismissed as general nerve activity, increased blood flow, or static. But again, who's to say they can't also be interpreted through a magical lens?
00:28:08
Speaker
Another common occurrence that I saw was the mention of static discharge. um Though it's a normal physical phenomenon, it's often interpreted as the idea of electrokinesis.
00:28:19
Speaker
And the last one that I kept coming across was where some practitioners use grounding stones like hematite, labrodurite, Or smoky quartz when they feel overcharged.
00:28:32
Speaker
The idea is that the crystals help stabilize the body's energetic or electrical sensations during or after practice. You know we talk about how to use specific crystals for specific situations all the time. So I would say that there's likely some weight to this particular practice.
00:28:48
Speaker
But when we're looking for things that have concrete evidence, this topic as a whole is not going to be one that shows that. um That's not to say that it isn't real or that you aren't actually experiencing those things. It's more to say that there's not a scientist that has taken this on to find that connection or the evidence if there is some.
00:29:12
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. That is true. Yeah. And you know what? Who knows? Maybe we just, we don't practice it. So we aren't fully aware. But yeah if you are interested in how practitioners actually incorporate electrokinesis into practice, there are some exercises that you could do. But I feel like one of the best ways to approach this is to really get really comfortable with meditating and getting really comfortable with experiencing what is happening within your own body? Because if you are not comfortable with that already and if you are not in tune with just how you're feeling as a whole, if you haven't done body scans before, this probably is going to be very difficult for you to master.
00:29:56
Speaker
So some oh, go ahead. Also, I was just going to say, I also feel like we have talked about some of what you're going to be discussing right now, i believe, in our meditation and grounding episodes. So some of this It's more for us, it has been more tied to like meditation versus like electrokinesis.
00:30:17
Speaker
So maybe go back and listen to those two if you want a little more in-depth on what Sam's about to talk about. but Yes. And also ah i'm just getting like with you bringing that up I believe we also discussed it as well. We were looking at like ARIC fields. And so like being able to sense your ARIC field, like that would also be a great episode to listen to if you haven't done that yet.
00:30:39
Speaker
Yeah. um Because a lot of this is highlighting so exactly what you're saying, some of the things that we've already talked about. And so I'm going to go over a few different exercises. First exercise is the palm to palm energy ball practice. And I'm sure... If you're a longtime listener, you remember us talking about this, or if you have heard about any sort of energy working, this will be familiar to you. Essentially, you're going to rub your hands lightly to activate your nerve endings. And over time, like this is going to take a little bit. It's not going to immediately happen. But over time, like visualize sparks forming, get into that ritualistic meditative mindset, feel the warmth, the tingles, and the pressure as you're doing this.
00:31:22
Speaker
And you're supposed to build a sphere of crackling energy with doing this. Another exercise is called the internal current flow. And this 1000% reminds me of a body scan. So what you'll do is you, in a meditative state, imagine the energy traveling up your spine, down your arms, and pooling into your palms, going down into your lower extremities, everywhere. And what you're going to do is you're going to practice pulsing outward this energy like electricity from your body. And then additionally, another one is just charging during storms. So storms have high ionization, heavy atmospheric electricity, and a psychological intensity. And so there are some practitioners who plan their spells to coincide with the energy of a storm, or they will go out and physically charge their items or their selves. So you can use this for hex breaking, for power boosting, for just practicing weather magic in general.
00:32:30
Speaker
And if you are into this or into weather magic or specifically storm deities, some of those that I mentioned earlier you should look into. So this would be Zeus, Jupiter, Thor, Indra, Peron, Shingo, and Tyrannus. And then lastly, there's another exercise called electric shield

Visualizing Electric Shields

00:32:52
Speaker
visualization. So this is where you would picture things like a crackling static filled barrier,
00:32:58
Speaker
um around your body, a neon blue or white field around your body, or sparks that incinerate unwanted energy. So like if you're doing cleansing or you're doing a house cleansing, I would imagine this is where it would kind of come into play, where you're using your visualization to visualize electricity to do your bidding.
00:33:22
Speaker
And just like with any other practice in witchcraft, there are a lot of tools that you can use to help you incorporate electrokinesis into your own practice.
00:33:32
Speaker
Many practitioners incorporate crystals associated with grounding or electrical energy, which Like I mentioned earlier, so stones like labradorite, amethyst, pyrite, or clear quartz, um hematite. Hematite was one that was also like mentioned quite a bit in any of the threads that I came across.
00:33:52
Speaker
um But using them to help direct, stabilize, or amplify the sensations that they work with. Conductive metals like copper are sometimes added to alters or tools. So copper is believed to help channel or move energy more efficiently, reinforcing the use of electrical metaphor behind electrokinesis.
00:34:14
Speaker
And like I mentioned earlier, some practitioners will also include small electronic elements into their practice like LED candles, battery powered charms, or simple circuits. These tools create a bridge between traditional magical symbolism and modern electrical imagery.
00:34:32
Speaker
And another way to help incorporate this would be to build a tech-based altar by using things like screens, digital sigils, sound frequencies, or apps as part of your ritual setup.

Tech-Based Altars

00:34:45
Speaker
Doing this allows practitioners to blend modern technology with their energetic or electrokinesis-focused work. That's a mouthful. It is. work. yeah And as far as spell work applications go, electrokinesis style magic is working with charge, movement, activation, and rapid transformation, which I'm sure you already guessed because we've alluded to that multiple times already on this episode.
00:35:13
Speaker
But charging sigils as circuits, so using them as a way to release stored electrical energy as a conductor would be a great method for using this type of magic.
00:35:24
Speaker
Again, using the visualization of lightning for banishing or empowerment. um Using speed magic. So looking at electricity, if we think about electricity, it's fast motion and it's great for spells that are involving rapid change, breaking stagnation, confidence, personal power or courage. So kind of using that, and this is going to be a teaser for next week's episode.
00:35:48
Speaker
maybe Using that as a symbol and like sympathetic magic, I think could be very powerful if you are interested in that. um And then as far as like protection, you can use electricity as an electric shield for energy warding.
00:36:04
Speaker
Cleansing, you can visualize a surge burning away psychic debris or like using electricity in that way as well. And as with any magical practice, you need to be aware of the safety and ethics within whatever magical path that you are participating in.

Safety Warnings with Electricity

00:36:22
Speaker
It's important to approach electrokinesis with grounding and realism. um Electricity is obviously dangerous and magical metaphors shouldn't replace actual electric safety. So think about that. um Practitioners should avoid experimenting with live wiring or anything that could cause harm. like No way. Yeah.
00:36:46
Speaker
um Emotional regulation is a key part of energy work. As discussed earlier, some practitioners might interpret tech malfunctions or flickering lights as reactions to strong emotions.
00:36:58
Speaker
But it's important not to blame yourself or to blame others for everyday electrical issues and to be aware of how you're feeling and how your mental health is faring. This should be a check-in with any practice, though, not just practices involving electrokinesis.
00:37:14
Speaker
When discussing electrokinesis, it's helpful to stay respectful of both belief and skepticism. Acknowledging personal experiences without sensationalizing them fosters healthier community conversations. Just because a practice doesn't have scientific research to back up its validity doesn't mean that it doesn't work. Rather, it means that um funding and time just really hasn't been put into the topic. And this is true for most subjects within the like witchcraft and magical community. Practitioners should remember that subjective sensations like buzzing or tingling can be meaningful in a magical framework.
00:37:52
Speaker
While still having physical or psychological explanations, holding both perspectives at once encourages a balanced and ethical practice. And grounding techniques, self-awareness, and clear boundaries help keep electrokinesis-focused practice safe, both emotionally and physically, especially for those who may be sensitive to suggestion or heightened energy burden.
