Cold Weather Adventures

00:00:35
Speaker
There was frost on the cars today, which is the first time because it's like the weather here is much more temperament like it is in England. And so it has been cold enough for like frost. And obviously we're also not prepared for it because we lived in a tropical island.
00:00:52
Speaker
So Mike went out to go to work and he's just like, my car is frosted over. And I'm like, oh, ah that's a thing about that. That's a thing we have to deal with.
00:01:03
Speaker
Yeah. So I'm just like, okay, well, I guess we need to go out and buy like little scraper thingies because we don't have those anymore. my gosh. So, yeah.
00:01:14
Speaker
Speaking of the cold weather and frost. I fell down the stairs the other other day. Oh, no.
00:01:26
Speaker
This was the story. I've been needing hear story. i forgot until you said something about the frost. And I was like, oh, yes. So to set the scene, Alexis and i are up early and we're ready go.
00:01:41
Speaker
And we're going to meet my friend Emma at the bakery um in K-Town so that we can get some coffee and hang out. And she had ordered some tea for um the teachers, like her kids' teachers and stuff.
00:01:54
Speaker
So I was bringing her tea and then like we just hadn't seen each other in a while. So I have my phone in one hand, my phone my keys. And then the other hand, I have this bag of tea and I'm like,
00:02:07
Speaker
Going out, not even thinking about the stairs possibly having ice on them because why would they? Why would you? what my well It's not December or anything. step my foot on that first step.
00:02:20
Speaker
And I don't know. I was on the ground before I even realized what happened. Which, mind you, this is like, how many steps is this? Five? think it's five steps.
00:02:31
Speaker
So a pretty hefty fall. All the way down on my butt on the ground. I didn't drop anything. um And then I look over like our neighbors have like 500 chickens and there's this chicken just like it literally peeked out at me like that. And just stared at me.
00:02:53
Speaker
And then I tell Alexis, because she's inside at this point. She didn't witness any of it. She comes out and I'm like, be so fucking careful. Hold on to the rail.
00:03:04
Speaker
First of all, like throw me your things and hold the rail with both hands as you go because they are slick. And she's like, okay. So she like grabs the rail, puts her foot down and was like, whoa. Yeah.
00:03:19
Speaker
Yeah.

Understanding Manifestation

00:03:20
Speaker
And at this point, five more chickens have come to watch. Yeah. The chickens are just staring at us. And I'm like, am I beeping with a chicken right now? Yeah.
00:03:31
Speaker
This chicken is rude. love how he just like peeks his head around. yeah aggressively like, you guys can't see me reenact this. But this chicken's head like snapped so far around the fence to look at me. It was not even funny.
00:03:47
Speaker
It was so rude and very obvious. It's like, what is this bitch doing? it is slippery outside. Literally. It was so funny.
00:03:58
Speaker
And we were like laughing about it all fucking day because like, you know how people are like, they have these like near death experiences and they'll be like, my entire life flashed before my eyes.
00:04:11
Speaker
was like, bitch, I was on the ground before I even knew what happened. Like, when When does it flash?
00:04:20
Speaker
Yeah. I fell right down my stairs. Luckily, it did not hurt myself. Right. i was That was going to be my next question because like five stairs. It was pretty aggressive too. Like it was quick.
00:04:31
Speaker
Yeah. Like I stepped and then I was laying on the ground and I was like, what happened? It was just slippery enough to where like your ass just also slid it down. Slid right off yeah like a ski slope. Like in Family Vacation where yeah like they grease up the bottom of those things and they slide down. i doubt That was basically me, but it was just my ass on icy stairs.
00:04:56
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. oh Ouch. But also I'm glad you're not hurt. Same. Because look, I'm old. Yeah. but We may look like spring chickens, but we're actually o little bit older. We're old right for a little bit older i was like, I could have broke a hip. ah
00:05:19
Speaker
You're only a few years away from that AARP membership. We've got to be careful, Divinity. Yeah. So that's my, um I fell down the stairs story that I have been waiting to tell you. Yeah. I'm glad that you waited until we were face to face for you to tell me the story. couldn't tell you about the chicken. you know you couldn't.
00:05:42
Speaker
Unless you sent me a video of you like snapping your neck. yeah like that It wouldn't have worked the same way. Yeah. No.
00:05:56
Speaker
man. ah But i did that we're not talking about I see stares and beefing with my next door neighbor chickens. No, we're not. What are we talking about?
00:06:08
Speaker
We're talking about manifestation and intention setting in witchcraft. Yay! Just to say that before we dive in, just a quick reminder. We've said this on the podcast before.
00:06:22
Speaker
Magic is a spiritual and energetic practice. And it's not a replacement for medical care, legal advice, or financial planning. Manifestation works best when it's partnered with real-world action.
00:06:36
Speaker
Yes. Insert all the snaps and claps because... Scream it from the rooftops. You know, should you be going through things? Yes, you can use manifestation for those, but you also need to be doing real-world things. And if it's an illness, also please go to your doctor.
00:06:52
Speaker
yeah So with that... When we talk about manifestation and witchcraft, we're not really talking about the modern law of attraction idea where you just think happy thoughts and the universe delivers.
00:07:06
Speaker
Historically, manifestation has always been part of folk magic and religious ritual. petitioning spirits, praying to deities, creating charms, and working with symbols goes all the way back to sympathetic magic and the idea that like affects like.
00:07:22
Speaker
So if you haven't already listened to last week's episode where we discussed this in depth, make sure to go back and do that.

Challenges & Misconceptions in Manifestation

00:07:28
Speaker
In witchcraft, manifestation is about how we interact with energy, with our environment, with the unseen, And with ourselves, it's not passive and it requires participation and a building of our relationship with those things.
00:07:44
Speaker
Witchcraft also treats manifestation as something that carries responsibility. You are not just asking for something, you're shaping the energy toward an outcome.
00:07:54
Speaker
So looking at manifestation, we really need to take time to reframe that. So online, we are inundated with information on manifestation.
00:08:05
Speaker
But while there is a lot of great information out there related to manifestation, there are are a lot of people giving advice that isn't super helpful. It's one thing to say you're going to manifest something into your life, but it's quite another to actually do the work.
00:08:19
Speaker
And there with that, there are a lot of common misconceptions in manifestation. And I think it's important to note that manifestation doesn't exist in a vacuum. And for a lot of us, there are a lot of barriers to manifestation that just naturally exist, whether that be our own trauma, our health, our finances, or just a oppression in general that you may be facing. Those things matter. And witchcraft manifestation doesn't just pretend that reality doesn't exist, but it's about knowing exactly where the constraints are and choosing where to push, bend, or to break the things that are currently existing in your life.
00:08:54
Speaker
So there is this misconception that Tiffany has already mentioned already, this just think positive misconception. So this includes stopping negative self-talk, especially with manifestations related to your confidence and self-love and acceptance. And while that's important, just thinking positive isn't exactly helpful. If manifestation worked just by thinking positively, none of us would ever be broke, tired, or need to heal childhood wounds.
00:09:21
Speaker
Another misconception is toxic positivity. In manifestation, toxic positivity is the pressure felt to always be happy and positive or else your manifestation won't work. You see this a lot online from people who don't understand how manifestation actually works and they're giving advice. and this is one of my biggest pet peeves about this.
00:09:42
Speaker
So the people who are adamant that good vibes only and positive emotions are going to be the gateway to your manifestations, they're fucking wrong. Okay. Toxic positivity invalidates the real emotions that many of us feel as part of the human experience.
00:09:58
Speaker
which include things like sadness, anger, and fear. And when we don't have instant results, we can fall into this loop of blaming ourselves and our brains for the reason our manifestation has failed.
00:10:09
Speaker
And that just makes it worse. It does, yeah. Toxic positivity will hold you back in your manifestations. You don't always have to be happy or positive all of the time to manifest the things that you want.
00:10:22
Speaker
Another misconception is instant results, wanting instant results, right? So going along with that, when we don't see instant results, it can be really hard to not get discouraged, especially when you're just starting out. Delays don't equal denial. Sometimes manifestation is working on you and not the outcome. And sometimes the spell succeeds by showing you what you actually don't want. So just be patient.
00:10:49
Speaker
And then additionally, another misconception is asking versus entitlement. Manifestation culture online often teaches ask clearly and you will receive.
00:11:01
Speaker
And witchcraft manifestation teaches ask clearly, offer something in return and be willing to change. So this goes back to this idea that you need to give back and giving back can look like many things. It can be offerings of food, wine, candles, incense. It can look like service. So volunteering, tending land, honoring the dead. It can also look like action. So something mundane, like actually doing the work, doing something to make your life better. For example, if you want to manifest a healthier lifestyle, take the steps to do the boring mundane things. And it can also just look like devotion. So consistent practice and not just crisis magic. And so when we're looking at this idea of asking versus entitlement.

Manifestation Techniques & Ethics

00:11:46
Speaker
There are so many creators online that it's so frustrating where you see this just like, lucky girl syndrome or whatever, where it's like, I just give it all to the universe and I just expect it.
00:11:57
Speaker
And it's like, okay, yeah, you need to be positive and you need to not allow like your rational mind to give you constraints, but at the same time, like, why are you just being that entitled with it? Like you need to actually do the work as well.
00:12:15
Speaker
So I'm going to get off my soapbox with that. It is frustrating though. It is frustrating. When it comes to reframing manifestation, we need to look at alignment, intention, and actions.
00:12:27
Speaker
These are at the core of a successful manifestation. Alignment looks like bringing yourself into harmony with what you believe and what you want and what you actually value. i'm going to go over intention a bit more, and so is Tiffany, but just as a quick summary, intention is at the core of all spell work. It's making decisions without fear, not out of habit, and with purpose. Understanding that clarity is key. It's not about reacting to the life you have, but creating the life you want.
00:12:55
Speaker
And additionally, we can co-create with the universe, with spirits, with ancestors, or with yourself. Manifestation isn't just about, I want this universe, so make it happen. It's about entering into that relationship that Tiffany already mentioned with forces that shape reality and meeting them halfway.
00:13:14
Speaker
This acknowledges that you have agency, that also other forces have agency, and that the manifestation happens in the space where these both meet. And this reminds me so much of the 12 Magical Nights ritual.
00:13:28
Speaker
We've talked about this before on the podcast, and I believe I wrote about it in a newsletter last year. but i think anyway like if You know, it has gained a lot of traction on the Internet within this last year. So you've probably all heard of it by now. If you are so on social media and you're in any sort of witchcraft space on social media. But if you didn't hear about it through us or you didn't hear about it online, the entire basis of the 12 magical nights is working alongside the universe to make shit happen. And so with that, obviously you're giving things to the universe, but you're also taking care of stuff as well. And you are putting in the work and the action to make your life, like your dream life happen. Additionally, there's co-creating with the universe. And this is all about working with the energy that is already present, timing spells with moon phases or with seasons and paying attention to the natural cycles that occur and asking when and how energy wants to move and not forcing things.
00:14:31
Speaker
And there's also co-creation with spirits and deities. And this relies a lot on reciprocity. It means asking, but also listening, giving offerings, and building relationships. This also most likely includes things like devotion or acts on the deities' behalf. With this, you have to accept that the answer you get may not be the one you wanted, and it involves building alliances with spirits.
00:14:59
Speaker
And then lastly, co-creation with self. This is a step that many people fail to see, and this is why their manifestations fail. This is where your conscious desires and your subconscious beliefs must agree. You have to become someone who can receive what you're asking for. So if what you're asking for is not in alignment with what you actually want, it's not going to fucking happen. Yeah.
00:15:22
Speaker
So... And then looking at intention. So as I mentioned, ah intention is the core of all spell work. What intention actually is, is a deep driving desire that materializes into a thought. It's the seed of manifestation and the seed of the action and the outcome. Intention isn't just a wish. It isn't passive. and Intention takes engagement, direction, and follow through. It's also not vague or fuzzy. It's not just wishing for abundance or good things. That can mean so many different things to many different people.
00:15:55
Speaker
Intention isn't pretending that you don't have fear and that fear doesn't cancel intention. Intention also isn't control. It's not micromanaging the how or forcing outcomes. nor is it demanding results on your timeline. And it isn't bypassing reality, which I think is a hard pill for some of us to swallow. This isn't creating limiting beliefs, but intention and witchcraft understands that witchcraft doesn't replace effort, it directs it. So it's not going to magically erase your trauma, your structural barriers, or your need to do the work, especially those mundane actions you need to do.
00:16:32
Speaker
It's also important to have emotional honesty in your spell work, and you really need to understand what it is you want. You're not going to be successful in your manifestation if what you are manifesting isn't actually what you really want. There needs to be some self-inquiry, and you may need to ask yourself some really tough, honest questions about what you truly want outside of what society says you should want.
00:16:57
Speaker
So if there is one thing that you should take away from this episode, it's that intention matters more than the tools. You can have the fanciest candles, herbs, crystals, and oils in the world, but without a clear intention, your spell is basically just vibes. So you have to have the intention set and really put in the work behind the scenes to make everything else work.
00:17:23
Speaker
One of the biggest mistakes people make is setting intentions that are either too vague or too controlling. So saying you want more abundance does not give your magic much direction, but neither does trying to micromanage exactly how something has to happen. You want enough details to make your intentions clear, but not so many details that they can't come to fruition. There has to be some wiggle room to allow for them to be able to like manifest organically. And I just want to pause and say that I think it's so funny that we both used micromanage. We did.
00:18:04
Speaker
But that's like really the best word to describe that because it's like When I'm thinking about like trying to force something to happen, it reminds me of a micromanaging bo yeah and how yeah like they're just trying to like really just fucking force things. Dictate like something happens. Yeah.
00:18:22
Speaker
So I thought that was really funny. When I heard you say it earlier, I was like, I'm pretty sure also used that word somewhere. Yeah.
00:18:30
Speaker
ah A strong intention is specific. It's emotionally honest and it's aligned with what you actually want, not what you think you should want. Like Sam also said earlier.
00:18:42
Speaker
I also think intention setting works best when it focuses on how you want to feel rather than the exact form something has to take. So things like safety, stability, confidence, and peace are things energy can move toward. So for example, if finances are a part of what you're trying to manifest, you would want to use phrases like feeling financially stable or having financial freedom. You should also remember that words can have other meanings. So saying that you want abundance, for example, can manifest in so many ways.
00:19:16
Speaker
You can have abundance of money, um an abundant relationship, an abundance of love, of food, etc. So try to keep that in mind when you're looking for those manifestations to roll in. If you're saying abundance, you could be abundant in all sorts of things in your life. And that is,
00:19:34
Speaker
your manifestation coming into fruition. um And then intention setting is a skill. So it's going to get better with practice, with self-awareness and learning from your own mistakes.
00:19:46
Speaker
One of the most accessible forms of manifestation magic is candle work. Basically using a candle in your manifestations, you're giving your intention, its own physical body through flame, um, color choices through like sigil carving on your candles or carving words into them, um, with oils and timing are just ways to reinforce the focus that you are already holding.
00:20:13
Speaker
um Petition papers are another classic method because writing forces clarity. So if you cannot write out your intention in just a few focused sentences, that usually means that it needs refining.
00:20:26
Speaker
Sigils are especially powerful for manifestations because they bypass the conscious mind. They allow the intention to sink deeper without getting tangled and overthinking. And then another is visualization and trance-based work, which are also very powerful tools.
00:20:45
Speaker
You don't need to perfect mental imagery. um What matters is having an embodied sense that the outcome is possible and it's already in motion.
00:20:57
Speaker
Yeah. And going into another tool that you can use, which is Tiffany's absolute favorite, I know. Herbs are a great tangible and symbolic connection to different energies needed for manifestation. We have discussed so many different correspondences on the podcast over the last five years, and there are quite a few herbs that can help with your manifestations.
00:21:18
Speaker
It just depends on what you're trying to manifest. So this is not an exhaustive list, but here are a few of my personal favorites that I use often. So the first being cinnamon. Cinnamon is known for attracting wealth and abundance. It's also known for enhancing focus and boosting energy.
00:21:36
Speaker
The bay leaf is associated with wealth, success, and clarity and goals. Holy basil promotes energy and spiritual alignment. Lavender is great for protection, magic, and love, as well as helping you to relax and can create a clear mindset to focus on your intentions. Rose is also great for love and attraction. Mint helps to improve mental clarity and can help you to visualize and set intentions easier.
00:22:03
Speaker
Sage is used for purification and cleansing, and mugwort is useful for enhancing spiritual communication and for dream manifestation. And then also crystals. So there are a lot of crystals that can help with manifestations, and it really just depends on what you intend to manifest, just like with herbs. So with that, I'm going to go over just a few so we're not here all day talking about crystals.
00:22:27
Speaker
um First is a moonstone. This is a great gemstone to bring about new beginnings in your life. It's been known to help with developing the clairs, balancing energies and emotions, and it helps us become more in touch with our dreams and the things we really desire, not just what our rational minds want. So going back to that like root self, like co-creating with yourself aspect of really understanding what you truly want, Moonstone can help you figure that out.
00:22:56
Speaker
Clear Quartz is known as the master healer in crystal magic and can be used to support all of the chakras and bring balance, harmony, and can amplify your intentions and any other crystals you use in your workings.
00:23:09
Speaker
Garnet is known as a very protective stone, and it's also a stone of enlightenment and willpower, so it will help you with courage and adaption to change. And then lastly, adventuring. We can't have an episode about manifestation without talking about adventuring. Adventuring is known as a stone of of positivity, abundance, and prosperity.
00:23:32
Speaker
It's perfect for growth of any kind, whether it be growing your wealth or personal growth. And it's also a great stone to um to open us up to love, to experience love. And additionally, or we can use lunar magic in our manifestation. Many practitioners work closely with the moon cycles, and if you're listening to this podcast, you're probably already familiar with them, but just in case you aren't, I'm going to give a quick little overview.
00:23:57
Speaker
So the new moon is traditionally associated with beginnings. It's a powerful time for calling things into your life, things like prosperity, abundance, relationships, new opportunities, or even a new version of yourself. This moon energetically is all about planting seeds.
00:24:15
Speaker
The full moon is about culmination and release. While not manifestation in the calling something incense, it's just as important. Full moon work focuses on letting go of what no longer serves you. It's releasing patterns, habits, beliefs, relationships, or situations that are blocking your growth. When we talk about manifestation and intention, we also need to discuss ethics, consent, and manifesting responsibly.
00:24:41
Speaker
So let's talk about free will and consent. At its core, ethical manifestation respects free will, both yours and everyone else's. Every person has agency, and when manifestation crosses into trying to override someone's thoughts, feelings, or choices, we step into murky ethical territory.
00:24:59
Speaker
This doesn't mean influence or attraction magic is ethically wrong, but it does mean that we need to be honest about our intentions and understand of the potential impact. Just because you can influence a situation doesn't mean you always should.
00:25:15
Speaker
And I'm going to also just briefly mention this here because I feel like every time we talk about this on the podcast is another topic where we end up always getting an email or a shitty comment about, well, just because you believe this way doesn't mean other cultures don't. I don't. This is our podcast. Okay. Like the fuck.
00:25:35
Speaker
We have always said, do your own research. Do what feels right for you. We are not dogging anybody's practice. We are bringing information to the masses on, hey, if you want to go down this route, that's fine. But here are the ethical considerations you need to think about. Okay? So before anybody sends us a shitty email. Yeah.
00:25:56
Speaker
Yeah. We also openly share how we feel about those things because they are important topics to discuss. Even if you don't feel the same way that we do, like we said, do your own research, make your own decisions. It is what it is. But at the end of the day, like Sam said, this is our podcast and this is our understanding, our education, and like the way that we practice. So at the end of the day, if that doesn't resonate with you, that's okay.
00:26:26
Speaker
Yeah, that's okay. But don't send us a shitty email about it, okay? Because we'll send a shitty one back. Anyway, so when we're looking at this specifically, manifesting people versus manifesting outcomes is one of the most common ethical pitfalls we see in manifestation.
00:26:46
Speaker
Manifesting a person looks like wanting someone to love you, like a specific person. Choosing you specifically, this specific person to choose you or to act differently for your benefit. This centers control over another person's will.
00:27:01
Speaker
Manifesting outcomes, however, focuses on manifesting mutual love and connection, healthy communication, a relationship that is aligned, safe, and reciprocal, or a job where you are valued and supported. The difference here is instead of choosing who must fill this role, like a specific person, it's about choosing the experience you want to have. So it leaves it open for the universe to bring you the person that is meant for you or the job that is meant for you, not trying to force anybody's will.
00:27:32
Speaker
And also, if you're doing this like we've mentioned throughout this entire episode, that means that not only are you trying to manifest in this way, but you're also putting in the work in the background. You are doing the work to manifest.
00:27:48
Speaker
also get to that point of whatever it is you're trying to manifest, whether it's a healthy relationship, a better job, respect in your job, whatever it is. you know So it's not just saying like, I want this person to love me.
00:28:03
Speaker
And then you're just hoping that that happens. You're saying, i want a healthy relationship and you're putting in the work to make that happen. Right. And sometimes I think it's hard for people to get to that point and realize that like, okay, for me to do the work, if I'm trying to manifest and attract love to me, I need to do the work on myself. I need to go to a therapist. I need to heal something about myself.
00:28:26
Speaker
And some people are not ready for that conversation and that's fine. Yeah. But don't be surprised when it doesn't happen the way you want it to. Yes. So additionally, I think Something that can be used in place of this is the this or something better approach.
00:28:43
Speaker
This is a great approach in manifesting because it releases the attachment to a single outcome. It acknowledges that sometimes our perspective can be limited and it invites alignment rather than forcing something that may not be for us. It's trusting what's meant for you and that that will come naturally and it won't require coercion or obsession.
00:29:05
Speaker
And I think like when we talk about the ethics, obviously this is where things get a little uncomfortable, but it is important to talk about, you know, manifestation still has ethical

Trusting the Process & Signs

00:29:17
Speaker
implications. So trying to manifest specific people, especially in romantic or emotional situations does cross into manipulation very quickly. And even like this happens, even when it's Not intentional. so framing manifestations around alignment and outcomes rather than control can help avoid that instead of focusing on a specific person the focus then becomes like
00:29:44
Speaker
calling in a relationship that feels mutual that feels safe and fulfilling like we just said. There's also a shadow side to manifestation culture. So scarcity mindset, desperation, and the belief that a spell not working means that you failed spiritually can be really damaging and that's just not how magic works.
00:30:07
Speaker
Sometimes spells do not manifest because they're poorly timed they're out of alignment, or maybe they're asking for something that would cause harm. That does not mean that you're like bad at magic. It just means that you need to kind of take a step back, reframe it, and then, you know, go from there, like move forward from there.
00:30:28
Speaker
manifestation requires follow through, like we keep saying. So you can't just like cast the spell and then that's it. Like that's just the beginning. It's not the finish line. If you do a prosperity spell, but you never apply for jobs, you never, you know, like if you have a business, you're never raising your prices or you change your relationship with money, the magic does not have much to work with. Magic can open doors, but you still have to walk through them. There's also a point where you have to stop touching the spell.
00:31:02
Speaker
Constantly reworking it can signal doubt. So you need to be able to trust the process that is part of the work. So for me, like once I work the spell, that part is done and I try not to think on it again. I put in the work in other areas, but I leave the spell itself for the universe at that point.
00:31:24
Speaker
Going with trusting the process like Tiffany just mentioned, you also need to trust the universe's timing. So releasing your grip on how your desires appear and letting go. Surrendering control to allow your manifestations to flow in is going to be very important. So there are some signs, synchronicities, and confirmation bias that we need to talk about when it comes to manifestation work.
00:31:49
Speaker
In witchcraft and in spiritual practice, signs and synchronicities are often treated as guidance, but they aren't actually the same thing. Signs are direct and context-specific,
00:32:02
Speaker
They're repeated in a meaningful way, often asked for intentionally, so asking specifically for this specific sign and seeing that specific sign, and it's aligned with the work you're already doing. They feel relevant without you having to force it.
00:32:17
Speaker
Synchronicities, on the other hand, are meaningful coincidences. They're often symbolic and show alignment or ah or momentum, but it's not actually like a sign. And then confirmation bias is when we are unconsciously looking for evidence that supports what we want to believe. So it's neither a sign nor a synchronicity. It's just your brain basically having you look for signs that aren't there. So just be careful about that.
00:32:44
Speaker
And so how do you know, like and another important thing when it comes to real life applications with magic is how do you know when you need to stop reworking a spell? Because that's honestly, that's something that I had to so like sit back and think about, about, you know, when it comes to spells that I've done, when have I had to like really just face the hard facts that like, maybe this isn't what I need to be manifesting. And Part of it is going to come from, say, when you've slipped from intention to control, are you reworking the spell because you're anxious, impatient, or afraid it won't work?
00:33:19
Speaker
Or is it actually time to rework the spell? like Maybe if you are doing a spell and you're anxious about it and you really want it to work, but it's not happening and you keep reworking it and you're still getting no results, it's probably a sign that this is not for you.
00:33:35
Speaker
And then additionally, when you're repeating the same work without new information, if you're just repeating the same spell with different words, maybe different candles or herbs, it's honestly, it's starting to be based in doubt rather than devotion. So if you're repeating the same spell,
00:33:52
Speaker
but just doing different mediums to achieve that same result and you're still not getting anything, it may just be time to stop and just let the universe deal with it. Or maybe work on some of your something that within yourself, whether that be doing that mundane action or really sitting with yourself to understand, like is does what is what I'm wanting aligning with what I unconsciously am needing?
00:34:18
Speaker
And kind of go from there. And then just to give you guys an example of a type of manifestation, um like spell, I guess, my preferred choice

Adapting Spells & Personalization

00:34:31
Speaker
of manifestation magic is one that I actually found in the 5,000 Spells book that we have referenced on here multiple times in the past. It's such a good book. It really is. 10 out of 10 recommend if you don't have it. Or if you're just like, i just want one book, that's a great one to have.
00:34:50
Speaker
um And this one is called the fan wish. And I use this particular practice anytime I'm really trying to manifest something specific that I have little or no control in making it happen myself. So specifically for things that I can't really put work into to make sure that they happen like outside of just trying to do something like this. And to caveat that I never use this particular spell for just tiny little minor things either. This is specifically for those larger things that are more like out of my hands.
00:35:22
Speaker
The basics is that you're going to need a piece of paper that you're going to fold into a fan with nine folds, a pen or a pencil, um a match or a lighter and fire safe vessel. Once you have your paper folded nine times into like a little fan shape, you're going write your wish on all nine folds. So for this, you need to be as specific and precise as possible when writing it out. Leave no details out.
00:35:50
Speaker
And once I've written on all nine folds, I also like to flip the fan over and write it once, like across the entire back of the fan before folding it back into a fan shape. That's not in the book, but it's just something that I've always done.
00:36:06
Speaker
um And then make sure that you're like also just really focusing on that intention throughout the entire process of this as well. And once you've written it out, you're going to light your fan on fire and place it in your fire safe vessel and let it burn out completely. Once it's burned, leave the rest up to the universe.
00:36:28
Speaker
If you are somewhere where you cannot use fire safely, you can rip it up. You can destroy it in whatever way, bury it in the ground, like whatever method is going to work best for you. i use fire because that's what I prefer.
00:36:42
Speaker
And then something that I think is really important to acknowledge is that spells do not always work and that's okay. When a spell does not manifest, it can be an opportunity for you to step back and reflect rather than to spiral. So looking back at how it was done, whether the intention was clear or if any details were rushed or overlooked can offer a lot of insight.
00:37:08
Speaker
Sometimes a spell just needs to be reworked, adjusted, or approached from a completely different angle, and sometimes it's not about the spell at all. There are moments where the outcomes that we're asking for are not the ones that are meant for us at that time, even if it feels disappointing in that moment.
00:37:29
Speaker
A spell not working is not a failure, and it's not a reflection of your worth or your ability as a practitioner, It's simply part of the process. Don't let it shake your confidence or disconnect you from your practice. Magic is adaptive and so are you.
00:37:45
Speaker
Absolutely. Yes. That is like the best advice I feel like we could give about this. Yeah. There are so many times like just because... Tiffany and I have been doing this for a while doesn't mean that we've not run into some of these same pitfalls before. We all have. It's normal. And i think for me, one of the biggest lessons learned like through trial and error and just growing in my magical practice has been figuring out which mediums work best for me. So outside of like really understanding... like Because I will say it does take a while to
00:38:23
Speaker
sit with yourself and decide what it is that you unconsciously want and how that how that um connects with your rational mind and what you want. So that is going to take a while. And if you're not already doing meditation or spending time with yourself, whether that be, and it doesn't, I'm not saying that everybody has to meditate. That's just what I like to do, but you can journal, you can, you know, do shadow work, whatever it is to figure out like what that connection is. If you're not doing that and you're trying to just manifest willy nilly, like you're, it's not going to be successful, but additionally, like trying to find the medium that works best for you, because whenever you start approaching manifestation and intention work in witchcraft specifically, There are so many different ways that you can manifest. And it's great to try out new things and different aspects of it, but you really need to figure out what works best for you.
00:39:25
Speaker
Because for me, the manifestations that work best for me are things that not only am I in like aligned with, but also the things that I'm using the medium that speaks to me. So like with Tiffany, like were saying with fire, that's the same with me too. Candle magic, lighting shit on fire, that is the way in which I feel like I get the best results. and Not because candle magic is is superior, but because that is what like works for me. That is- right
00:39:58
Speaker
how I like to do spell work. But for some of you, it might be doing something in the kitchen, doing like witchcraft with the foods that you're eating or um and I can't even, like working specifically with the moon and working with crystals, like that's great. And do what works best for you.
00:40:18
Speaker
So, and like over time, your confidence in magic is going to change. You're going to, know, when you're starting out like I still remember like starting out and being like, okay, let me write down every step and let me just do this. And let me go back to the book and like, just make sure I have everything that I want asked off of this spell and all of these correspondents. Let me double check all of them. But once you've been doing it for a while, your confidence grows and things become easier. And then additionally too, when it comes to correspondences, things that traditionally may mean X, y z may not mean x y Z for you. like you know We've talked about this before. like You need to make sure that when you're doing manifestation and intention work,
00:41:01
Speaker
Even the things that you use need to align with you. So if for whatever reason, bay leaves don't signify prosperity or abundance for you, it means something else entirely, then no you don't use that. Use something else that means prosperity and abundance for you.
00:41:18
Speaker
So just keep that in mind. Understand that all of the information that we provide is just a stepping off point, right? Like it's not supposed to be like taken with like step by step. This is how you have to do things. It's just to provide you with a bit more information so that you can do the work yourself because that ultimately is going to be what's most powerful.
00:41:36
Speaker
I think that's something that for me was more learned over time because I think when you first step into some of the stuff, you're like, oh, I have to do it perfectly. I have to do it exactly the way it's written down or exactly the way someone told Mm-hmm.
00:41:54
Speaker
i now kind of approach my practice in the same way that I approach like making a new recipe in the kitchen. Like if I want to make something like specific, like I don't know, if I say like I was like, oh, I really want to make orange chicken and I've never made orange chicken before. I would Google it and look at like 10 different recipes and pick and choose what I like from them. And then I would kind of just come up with my own thing from there. And now I also do that with my practice. like Yeah.
00:42:27
Speaker
I'm like, okay, what are some things? It does because then it becomes more um in line with you and who you are and how you work.
00:42:37
Speaker
um And, you know, like Sam was saying, like if this correspondence is supposed to be whatever this says, but you're looking at it and you're like, well, to me, this correspondence is this thing, then use it for that thing because you're going to have that connection and that relationship with that thing. Yeah. Just because I don't have that same relationship, like it's meant to be like your own practice. Everyone's practice is meant to be different.
00:43:04
Speaker
Exactly. Yeah. We're all different people. We all have different thoughts and values and beliefs where our magic is all going to look differently. And so tying this up, I do think it's important to acknowledge that manifestation and just intention setting and witchcraft, this is an ongoing practice. This is not a one-time act. And I've already mentioned this, and I believe Tiffany has already mentioned this already in this podcast.
00:43:27
Speaker
You shouldn't be using manifestation and intention working as just like a crisis response thing. And it should be just inherently something that's part of your practice because you want to build and you want to have this be ongoing.

Wrap-up & Conclusion

00:43:42
Speaker
And so look at it as a way of like a give and take situation as well, especially if you're working with deities. Make sure that you're giving back and make sure that you're doing things that not just fill your cup, but fill the universe's cup as well.
00:43:57
Speaker
yeah um And you know ah it's like Tiffany just mentioned, it's great to experiment and trust yourself when it comes to magic. So make sure that you're you're taking that time to make mistakes and trust yourself because that's going to be the biggest thing.
00:44:15
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. And then, you know, manifestation is not a shortcut. It's a practice. It's an ongoing relationship between intention, action, timing, and trust. So if you're struggling with manifestation, it can be helpful to ask yourself whether the intention is rooted in alignment or fear and whether you're giving your magic something real to work with. And most importantly, you know, just be patient with yourself because your magic is going to grow as you grow.
