🌊😱 EPISODE 166: WATERPARKS ARE TERRIFYING

How far will we go for beauty? How deep and dear is the costs?  We dig in to a genuinely gruesome history — lead face paint, arsenic wafers, radium perms, and an electric corset that promised to cure your "hysteria." We dig into how beauty has been poisoning people for centuries, then bring it into the present with looksmaxxing, bone smashing, and the new horror of AI dysmorphia — patients bringing AI-edited selfies to plastic surgeons and asking to look like a face that was never real.

Then two films that put "beauty is terrifying" into practice:

🎬 AMERICAN MARY (2013) — A broke med student starts doing underground body-mod surgery to pay the bills, until an assault sends her somewhere much darker. Katharine Isabelle carries it, but the acting around her holds it back. Matty: 4.5 | Andrew: 4.5

🎬 THE SUBSTANCE (2024) — Demi Moore takes a black-market drug that spawns a younger, "better" version of herself, with horrifying consequences. Bold, unforgettable, unlike anything else out there. Matty: 6.5 | Andrew: 5.5

🎬 CRAWL — Category 5 Hurricane Wendy has hit Florida. Haley Keller has gone back for her dad. He's in the crawl space. The crawl space is flooded. The crawl space has alligators in it. Alexandre Aja and Sam Raimi said hold our beers.

Same premise. Different predator. Different decade. Both absolutely unhinged.
