The season finale is HERE.

Two modern legends enter. Only one advances to the APEX 8.

This week, Jack Reacher faces Robert McCall — aka The Equalizer — in one of the most difficult decisions we’ve ever had to make. Both guys have arguments worthy of advancing. So we went deep: weaponized environments, one-vs-many massacres, disarms, deductive reasoning, “Sherlock Swolmes,” corkscrews, and the tiny tactical details that decide elite matchups.

Plus:

One survives. One moves on.

Let’s settle it.

Jack Reacher vs Robert McCall — Corkscrews & Helicopters

Jason Bourne and Anton Chigurh finally collide in one of the most terrifying matchups we’ve ever covered. We break down whether Bourne’s elite tradecraft, adaptability, and “figure-it-out-in-real-time” genius can overcome the cold inevitability of pure fate itself.

Along the way, we discuss bowl cuts and we somehow ended up debating a metal concept album over 30 years later. Plus: we advocate for the cinematic reunion the world truly needs — Will Hunting and Chucky — while Jordan gets hammered over his stance on Anton Chigurh’s hand-to-hand ability.

Don’t leave this one up to fate, Friendo.

Jason Bourne v Anton Chigurh - Coin Flips & Passports

Yeah, this one got HEATED.

This episode, we’re asking if size really matters. We have some questionable arm measurements (Steve may or may not enter that contest), and a very real discussion about whether Jack Reacher is basically just a human Terminator walking around Tennessee.

But don’t get it twisted—Sarah Connor isn’t just surviving… she’s hunting. We break down her “Hunny Bunny intensity,” her ability to weaponize literally anything, and who her ideal tag team partner would be if things really went off the rails.

And we even welcome a new sponsor - CYBERDYNE. What could possibly go wrong?

Jack Reacher v Sarah Connor -- Built Different & Judgment Day

Robert McCall from the Equalizer steps into the bayou to face off against the most aggressive mullet in cinematic history — Chance Boudreaux.

We’re breaking down snake charming, dramatic slo-mo, and whether funky floors are a legitimate combat advantage. Along the way, we uncover a wild theory about McCall’s true identity, revisit the legend of Home Mart, and (once again) determine if Jordan actually watched the correct JCVD movie.

Mullets will fly.
Nail guns may or may not be involved.

Let’s settle it.

Robert McCall v Chance Boudreaux — Mullets & Funky Floors

This week, it’s a battle of elite operatives with very different skill sets—and very particular sets of skills.

Jason Bourne, the amnesiac assassin built for covert “wet work,” takes on Bryan Mills, the relentless father who will stop at nothing once he says the words: “I will find you.”

We break down instinct vs experience, improvisation vs intimidation, and what happens when the most hunted man in the world meets the man who always does the hunting.

Also… a mysterious contender makes yet another unexpected appearance: James Bourne. Who is he? Where did he come from?

All that, plus breakdowns, hot takes, and just enough chaos to make both CIA black ops and Albanian traffickers very uncomfortable.

Jason Bourne v Bryan Mills -- Amnesia & Flip Phones

This week we turn the show over to the people who matter most: the listeners.

You asked the questions, and we’re doing our best to answer them without starting a civil war in the bracket. From hypothetical matchups and controversial eliminations to behind-the-scenes details about the tournament itself, we crack open the Fictional Fighting Championship mailbag and dive into the chaos.

Along the way we debate fan theories, revisit some past battles, and discover that some of you might actually be more bloodthirsty than we are.

Thanks to everyone who sent in questions and continues to make this tournament more fun than we ever imagined.

FFC Mailbag Episode – Listener Questions & Hot Takes

Anton Chigurh (No Country for Old Men) takes on Snake Plissken (Escape from New York) in a matchup of fate vs defiance. We break down coin flipping, deadly basketball, surfing (yes, somehow), and whether adding an aftermarket chandelier to your car is ever the right move. Also… are we witnessing the greatest cinematic psycho of all time?

Tune in now

Anton Chigurh v Snake Plissken

One is a relic-hunting adventurer with a whip and a fear of snakes. The other is basically the female Joel Miller — hardened, relentless, and ready for the end of the world. We break down Steve’s injured shoulder, questionable Gmail economics (“is Gmail free?”), a surprisingly important succulent Chinese dinner, and whether “come with me if you want to live” works on a guy who’s already outrun a boulder.

And listen as Kate Capshaw takes some strays.

Indiana Jones v Sarah Connor -- Relics & Reloads

One is Hollywood’s most effective fixer, powered by bats, glares, and intense mild annoyance. The other is a mullet-sporting Vietnam vet from Hard Target, played by Jean-Claude Van Damme, who punches snakes and treats explosions like punctuation. We break down Donovan’s home-run power, Chance’s confidence, and what happens when grit runs headfirst into pure 90s action-movie chaos.

Tune in now: this episode is a certified pants grenade.

Ray Donovan vs Chance Boudreaux -- Pants Grenades & Baseball Bats

This matchup is pure contrast. Ip Man vs. Bryan Mills — controlled mastery versus improvisational brutality. We talk particular sets of skills, the Marko from Tropoja manhunt, why Ip Man might secretly be the William Wallace of martial arts, and how Uncle Rico somehow enters the debate. Finally, has anyone ever been shot while serving meatloaf? Bracket chaos at its finest
