Today we will read Acts Chapter 24 and 25:1-26.

In our reading today Paul will be put on trial in Caesarea, since he is a Roman citizen and has requested a court hearing in front of a Roman judge. Paul will face his accusers, the Jewish leaders, and be accused of many things that no one can prove to be true. Despite the lack of evidence against him, Paul remained under house arrest for more than two years.

In our discussion for daily application we will talk about how Paul is having to wait for God's timing to go to Rome, as Jesus told him he would do. How difficult it is to "wait quietly" for God's timing! Today I will share personal experience in my own life going on right now that is requiring me to wait (not so) patiently for God's timing. Today God was reminding me to Be still and know that He is God. Paul, too, would have had to be still and know God is God while he waiting for years to go to Rome, where Jesus told him he would go. During this time of waiting for Paul things could have been worse. He could have been in a jail cell. During our own times of waiting for God's timing we need to remember that things could be worse and we need to remember that in our own lives, just as with Paul's life, God is still in control.

Introduction to the Bible Reading Plan

00:00:03
Speaker
Good day everybody! Today is November 19th. My name is Robin. I am within the Family Way Coaching and together you and i we are here for our daily Bible reading through the Day by Day Kids Bible and it's been written by Karen Henley.
00:00:20
Speaker
Here's a little fun fact that if you are newer you may not know but Karen Henley was the author of the Beginner's Bible or I should say she is the author of the Beginner's Bible.
00:00:32
Speaker
I ah had found a beginner's Bible at work the other day while I was working. We sell them there. And i looked everywhere and her name is not in there. It does not give her credit. It just says it's like a Zonderkid's publication or something to that effect. But Karen Henley wrote the beginner's Bible.
00:00:56
Speaker
And how do I know that? because it says right on the top of my Bible, from the author of the Beginner's Bible. So if you have some moms and dads out there who had some kids who read the Beginner's Bible, or maybe you are a kid and you remember reading your Beginner's Bible,
00:01:17
Speaker
Same author. Good job, huh? I'm loving Karen Henley's work.

Resources and Tools for Bible Study

00:01:22
Speaker
She actually has her own website. I think it's like karenhenley.com or.org or something to that effect.
00:01:28
Speaker
And she still writes. And I was checking it out the other day and she writes poetry and she has poetry on there. And I've always been a big fan of poetry because I also write poetry.
00:01:41
Speaker
And she has some gorgeous poems on there. And she also loves shadows. So she has like a poem of the week and a shadow picture of the week. So she just finds beauty everywhere and she shares it on her site.
00:01:58
Speaker
So I just thought I would give us that little bit of information today about our lovely author who is giving us our daily readings. Well, since we are doing this daily, i am using a a calendar to mark off our days. I am keeping a record of the year that I read the Bible every single day.
00:02:20
Speaker
This has been a big accomplishment for me. So even if you haven't been here all this year, don't worry, it's okay. And you can always start again in January because it will be there for you.
00:02:32
Speaker
Same event, same recordings. I've gotten a little better as the year has gone by. So if you do start in January, I hope you won't think, my goodness, this this lady came.
00:02:43
Speaker
far from where she started. ah yeah I know, Julie, you're always encouraging me and saying, wow, you've really grown from when you first started this. And I'm hoping I didn't grow so much to where it it sounds not as great.
00:02:57
Speaker
And it's new. ah But if you are using that bookmarking commitment calendar, go ahead and take that out and get your sticker ready or your marker, your crayon, whatever you are using too
00:03:11
Speaker
cross off those days because we're about to hear the Bible today.

Reflections on Time and Thanksgiving

00:03:18
Speaker
Boy, oh boy. You know, next week is Thanksgiving. Man, this year is, this is the fastest year i think I've ever lived. i don't know about you, but but this is definitely the fastest year that I have ever lived. and Sorry

Paul's Legal Challenges and Roman Citizenship

00:03:35
Speaker
about that. Well, we are going to be reading in the book of Acts still. We are almost finished with the book of Acts.
00:03:43
Speaker
And it we are going to be reading Acts chapter 24 today as well as chapter 25. So what we are seeing here is that Paul is in custody by um the Roman people, but he's not in Rome yet. He has requested to be heard for his hearing, for his court hearing in the region where he was born.
00:04:11
Speaker
And so I believe he was from Cilicia. It says they came to Caesarea. And he requested this because he is a Roman citizen. So he was not subject necessarily to ah the local laws for...
00:04:31
Speaker
ah what we We would call that due process. When ah somebody is taken into jail, they have a right nowadays to be heard by a jury of their peers, or at least a judge, depending on maybe the type of case. And in Paul's time, he was a Roman citizen and he wasn't, he didn't buy his citizenship. was He was born that way. So as we saw earlier, this was very scary to the Roman guards because they had to the one guy he had to buy his. And so he knew that he had paid for it and it cost him a lot of money. But for somebody to be born, oof that means Paul basically outranked him, even though he was a centurion and he was a guard.
00:05:19
Speaker
because it came with rights and a lot of the rights that we have to- today actually started as a result of roman rule isn't that interesting so paul was given a right to a trial and as we will see ah when the jewish leaders come to present their argument And the leader, let's see who it will be. It might be Felix or it and might be Festus too. um
00:05:55
Speaker
Because that we will read about them. There will be a couple of different. Yes, Festus and Felix. And even though Paul will be asked, would you like to go to Jerusalem to in and I'll hear your case there?
00:06:08
Speaker
Paul will say no, because he gets more rights as a Roman citizen than he would if he was to relinquish or give up his rights. So we're going to be seeing some of that. Now, that's just interesting. That's just to help us understand.
00:06:24
Speaker
It's not our daily application, but I just want us to understand what's going on as we read it so that we know why things are happening. I know for me, it's it's important for me to understand why that helps me to understand. If I don't understand why a lot of times I don't understand. And that's what I love about reading this Bible in chronological order in a at a level that we can understand is because it helps me understand and know the why of God's big story.
00:06:55
Speaker
So we're going to go ahead and continue. It says that the governor sent Paul to Herod's palace and he ordered guards to watch him there. This was after he had just arrived in the area, Caesarea.
00:07:11
Speaker
So now there has been five days that passed and then the Jewish leaders from Jerusalem came to Caesarea. They brought a lawyer with them and they went to governor Felix.
00:07:23
Speaker
So he called for Paul. The lawyer told Felix what they blamed Paul for doing. We have had peace for a long time, the lawyer said, and you have ruled us well.
00:07:37
Speaker
You have brought good things to this nation and we are very thankful for you. Now we don't want to bother you, so we will make this quick. This man makes trouble.
00:07:50
Speaker
He gets crowds of Jewish people into a panic, said the lawyer. He does this all over the world. He is a leader of a group that makes trouble.
00:08:01
Speaker
He even treats the worship house as if it were nothing. So we have tried to stop him. Ask him about it yourself. And you will find out that we are telling the truth.
00:08:14
Speaker
Now the Jewish people agreed with the lawyer. They said it was true. So Felix held out his hand toward Paul, and that showed that it was now Paul's turn to speak.
00:08:28
Speaker
Paul spoke. He said, he spoke to Felix, You have judged this nation for many years, so I am glad to speak with you.
00:08:39
Speaker
It was just 12 days ago that I went to Jerusalem to worship, and you can ask around and you will find out that this is true. I did not make a fuss at the worship house, said Paul.
00:08:52
Speaker
And I did not gather a crowd anywhere in the city. These men cannot show you that anything they have said about me is true. Here is what is true, said Paul. i worship God.
00:09:08
Speaker
I am a follower of Jesus. I believe the law and the prophets. I hope in God just like these men do. and I believe the dead will come back to life.
00:09:23
Speaker
Both good people and bad people will come back to life. So I try to make sure that I am always doing what is right. Now I was away from Jerusalem for many years, said Paul. I came back to bring gifts for poor people.
00:09:39
Speaker
And I came to give my offerings. I was doing all of this in the right way. There was not a crowd with me. I did not start a panic.
00:09:51
Speaker
Instead, there were some Jews who came from Asia to start trouble, said Paul. And they are the ones who should actually be here today. And they should actually say why they blame me.
00:10:04
Speaker
And if they don't, then the people here should tell what they found out. There was one thing that did upset the people, said Paul. And it was when I told them why I was there.
00:10:18
Speaker
And it's because I believe that the dead will live again someday. Now, Felix, having a rather extensive knowledge of the way, knew a lot about Jesus and his followers.
00:10:33
Speaker
So he sent everyone away and he said, the captain who wrote to me will come and then I will choose what I will do with you. So Felix ordered the guard to watch over Paul.
00:10:46
Speaker
But Felix said to let Paul have some freedom. And Felix said that Paul's friends could bring him whatever it was he needed. Now a few days passed and then Felix asked Paul to come see him again.
00:10:59
Speaker
And now Felix's wife, Drusilla, was also with him. And she was Jewish. She and Felix listened to Paul. So Paul talked to them about believing in Jesus.
00:11:13
Speaker
And Paul talked about how to be right with God. He talked about self-control, and he talked about how God would judge people someday. Now, Felix felt afraid, so he said to Paul, That's enough.
00:11:28
Speaker
Leave for now, and I will ask you to come back again another time. Now, Felix had actually also hoped that Paul would pay him some money in order to be set free.
00:11:40
Speaker
And so he often called Paul to come talk with him.
00:11:45
Speaker
Two years went by like this. And now a new governor came and he took the place of Felix. His name was Festus.
00:11:58
Speaker
Now, fess and Felix wanted to do the Jews a favor before he left office. So he left Paul in jail.
00:12:08
Speaker
So now Festus was in town for three days and then he went to Jerusalem. The Jewish leaders there told him about the things that they were blaming Paul for.
00:12:19
Speaker
And they asked Festus to send Paul back to Jerusalem because they really wanted to kill Paul while he was on his way back to Jerusalem. But Festus said, Paul is in jail in Caesarea and I am going there soon.
00:12:34
Speaker
So some of your leaders should come with me and then they can blame Paul there if he has done any wrong. Now eight or 10 days later, Festus went back to Caesarea and the next day he called for Paul.
00:12:49
Speaker
Now the Jews from Jerusalem had also come and they all stood around Paul. They blamed him for many wrong things, but they could not show that anything they said was actually true.
00:13:04
Speaker
Paul said, I haven't done anything wrong and I've done nothing against the Jewish law. I've done nothing against the worship house even, and I've done nothing against Rome's great ruler, Caesar.
00:13:19
Speaker
But Festus wanted to do the Jewish people a favor also. So he said to Paul, Will you go to Jerusalem? Will you let them judge you there? Paul replied.
00:13:31
Speaker
He said, You are a Roman judge. So here is where I should be judged. I have not done anything wrong. I have not done anything wrong to the Jews.
00:13:45
Speaker
And you know that. Did I do something that I should die for? Then I won't stop you from trying to kill me. But what if these Jewish people are lying?
00:13:56
Speaker
Said Paul. Then you should not give me to them. And the great ruler in Rome should be the judge. i ask for Caesar.

King Agrippa's Interest in Paul's Case

00:14:08
Speaker
Now Festus talked with his helpers about this. And then he said to Paul, you asked for Caesar, so you will go to Caesar. A few more days passed and now King Agrippa and his wife, Bernice, came to Caesarea and they came to visit Festus.
00:14:29
Speaker
They were there for many days. And while they were there, Festus talked to the king about Paul. He told the king, Felix left a man in jail here, and I went to Jerusalem, and the Jewish leaders there blamed him for many things, and they asked me to blame him too, and they want to kill him.
00:14:52
Speaker
But that's not the way it's done in Rome, said Festus. I told them that even. We let people in jail answer for themselves. So the Jewish leaders came here, and the man was brought in, and then the Jews blamed him for many things.
00:15:08
Speaker
Now, they did not talk about crimes that he had done, said Festus. And that's what I thought that they were going to do. Instead, they fussed about what they believe.
00:15:22
Speaker
They talked about a dead man named Jesus, and and Paul kept saying that Jesus is actually alive. I didn't know what to do about this, said Festus. So I asked Paul to go to Jerusalem to be judged there.
00:15:36
Speaker
But he asked to be judged by the ruler of all the Romans. So I'm keeping him in jail and he will be there until I can send him to our ruler Caesar. King Agrippa said to Festus, I would like to hear this man talk.
00:15:53
Speaker
You can hear him tomorrow, said Festus. So the next day, King Agrippa and Bernice met with Festus, and they made a big show of coming into the room, and even the city leaders were there with them.
00:16:09
Speaker
And then Festus called for Paul, and Paul was brought in. "'Do you see this man?' asked Festus. "'The Jewish people say that he should die.' Now, I don't think he's done anything that he should die for, but he asked for Caesar to be his judge, so I'm going to send him to Rome.
00:16:30
Speaker
I do think, however, that I should tell Caesar why I am sending him, but I am not sure what I can say. So you listen to him, King Agrippa, and maybe you can tell me what it is I should write.
00:16:48
Speaker
And that...

Lessons on Patience from Paul's Imprisonment

00:16:49
Speaker
it is the end of our reading today.
00:16:55
Speaker
How did you like that? It doesn't seem like Paul is getting anywhere. He has been sitting in jail for over two years, just sitting there and nobody can prove he did anything wrong and they won't convict him and neither will they acquit him, which means to pronounce him innocent.
00:17:15
Speaker
They're just doing the Jews a favor by keeping him in jail.
00:17:22
Speaker
Now, who told Paul that he was going to go to Rome? Do you remember a couple of days ago? That's right, Jesus did. Let's flip back a couple of pages here and let's read what it was again that Jesus told him.
00:17:42
Speaker
In chapter 23, was in jail. paul was in jail And that night, that actually it was the next night, Jesus came to Paul and he told Paul, be brave.
00:17:55
Speaker
You have told people in Jerusalem about me. And now you must tell people in Rome too. Now also remember that through the Holy Spirit, everybody was telling Paul that he was going to be taken into custody and that he would be in jail So now that's exactly what it is that's been happening.
00:18:19
Speaker
And then Jesus told him he would need to go to Rome as well. The same way that he had spoken to the people there in Jerusalem, he would need to go to Rome. Paul is not yet in Rome.
00:18:31
Speaker
He's not there yet. It's been over two years. Wow, that's a long time to just sit and wait in jail. Guess what? That is our daily application to- today.
00:18:43
Speaker
We heard dialogue and we heard about what was going on. But what we are seeing here is that God is still in control. Paul is under what is called house arrest jail.
00:18:56
Speaker
So while he is in jail, his friends can bring him whatever he needs. And he is not in a jail cell. He is in a house. And so things couldn't be...
00:19:11
Speaker
much better in the sense of jail, but they could be worse. And when we have, but we've all gone through things where we experience hard times and we say, well, that could have been a lot worse.
00:19:28
Speaker
And that's kind of what Paul is going through here. How many times have we been in the middle of going through difficult times and we have to just wait on God's timing for things, not knowing what's gonna happen.
00:19:41
Speaker
Now, Paul knew that at some point he was supposed to go to Rome. He probably thought it would be sooner or maybe he had hoped it would be sooner at this point. Sitting around for two years in jail, I'm sure that that's, time is not passing by very quickly for Paul.
00:19:55
Speaker
Those are probably some long two years. But guess what? We all have to go through these times, not necessarily in jail, but times when we are just waiting.
00:20:09
Speaker
You think he was going without prayer, praying for God to end this or for his will to be done that he would be able to go to Rome soon? And soon for Paul probably would have been a lot sooner than two years time, but he's having to wait.
00:20:26
Speaker
Now, this is late in the day when I'm getting this event recorded today. And i was frustrated all day. I was grumpy. I was grumpy most of the day.
00:20:37
Speaker
It just didn't seem to matter. I was just crumpy grumpy, grumpy, grumpy. And while I was on the way to work being grumpy because I didn't get my recording done today, And i was grumpy because not only did I not get it done before I left for work, but I was going to be late and I was going to be later than I had hoped to be because I'm always late. I have um what's called paid time off and I use my paid time off because where I work, it doesn't matter what time you come in.
00:21:06
Speaker
it Nobody bothers you about it. It's just you use your time or you end up with a mark. And so I have time to use and so I use my time for the most part unless I don't and then I get a mark then they roll off every 60 days. So it's not permanent. It's just you can't, you yet to mind how many marks you get.
00:21:26
Speaker
So I was grumpy that I was going to be later than the time that I had available to use today for my time to be late. And i was i was really just grumpy because I just felt like no matter what, I wasn't getting my stuff done today.
00:21:41
Speaker
And I had to help my husband and we swapped cars and i was just grumpy, grumpy, grumpy. ah And I only had one shift today to work a half a day. And I was hoping to be able to work a full day because my my shifts are, I'm technically considered flex where I get to have my time set the day before or however in advance, however far in advance they open up shifts for me.
00:22:11
Speaker
And i like that system, but sometimes, you know, I don't always get what I want, but mike my time is in God's hands. And I made that commitment earlier this year when i decided to make sure I am taking off for the Sabbath.
00:22:28
Speaker
And so I don't always know my work time. And so I'm frustrated and I'm waiting and I'm driving to work and I'm thinking about the daily application for today.
00:22:39
Speaker
And it's to to wait. that We have to wait for God sometimes. And while I was doing that, God is talking to me and he says, Robin, Be still.
00:22:52
Speaker
Be still and know that I am God. And I was just like, oh, you're right, Lord. And then he also brought me Psalm 23. He makes me to lie down beside still pastures.
00:23:07
Speaker
He brings me to calm waters. And though I may feel like I'm walking through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil. And I'd had some fearful things the past couple of days, like with my husband.
00:23:23
Speaker
As I told you, he was in ER one day and he was not feeling well. So I think I was just overwhelmed over, you know, over course of multiple days. And so God was telling me today, be still, be still and know that I am God.
00:23:40
Speaker
And how applicable that is to today's reading as well. So Paul had to be still. He couldn't go anywhere. He was under house arrest. And we have to we all go through those times where we just have to be still.
00:23:56
Speaker
We have to be still and remember and know that he is God. What we are seeing in today's reading today is God's timing.
00:24:07
Speaker
God is still in control. It may not always seem like it, but he is always always in control. We are never out of control with God.
00:24:19
Speaker
He is always in control. It is it may be that we want things to happen right now. i was so frustrated earlier today. i am still dealing with that insurance thing because this person who hit my husband in in the car four months ago, yeah over four months ago now,
00:24:42
Speaker
And he's just being difficult. And now we're waiting ah to be paid. We're still waiting for the damage to be paid for the car because it totaled out our car.
00:24:54
Speaker
And so we finally had to get another car and which we did. And it was actually when I say finally had to, I mean, God's timing was perfect for that. We didn't have this funding to go with it.
00:25:06
Speaker
But ah we were still able to get the car because it was an EV car and there was that credit that was going away by the end of September. And everything was right just in God's timing. And so I keep trying to remind myself of that, that i am just waiting on God's timing. And I've shared all the time about how God is always doing things in my life that perfectly correspond.
00:25:35
Speaker
to the events that we have going on in our in our reading. These daily applications, he is making so real for me that he is teaching me these lessons every single day, like object lessons.
00:25:51
Speaker
where I have to practice these things that we are reading. So God is growing me in these things. And so I share my practical applications on how God is using the daily application and what it looks like in my life so that you can see what it looks like in real time.
00:26:09
Speaker
and And it's a struggle, isn't it? ah We read about Paul telling us that we are always struggling with our flesh that wants to do what we want to do and our spirit, which wants to serve God and do the right thing.
00:26:26
Speaker
So as I'm struggling with my impatience and my frustration and my irritability, and I called the insurance company again because it's been another week that we've been waiting since we had agreed to accept a lesser amount for insurance.
00:26:43
Speaker
The damages because the person's policy doesn't have enough money to pay for all of the damage that they caused to our vehicle, another vehicle, as well as to a county or state-owned guardrail when they caused the accident.
00:27:02
Speaker
So everybody potentially has to accept a smaller amount. and only two of us have signed the agreement. And by according to the agreement, they will not pay anybody until everybody has signed it.
00:27:17
Speaker
However, if the person who owns the policy and and the person who hit us agrees, they can settle with us individually. So the other party and myself have signed this agreement, but the state hasn't, and neither has the other insurance company.
00:27:37
Speaker
So we're just waiting. and And they legally have up to two years. I feel like Paul. but Two years they can just sit on it and decide whether or not they want to sign.
00:27:55
Speaker
And they are keeping us from getting paid then when we agree, okay, fine, we'll just take it. Let's be done. And the owner of the policy was at one point represented by an attorney.
00:28:06
Speaker
And ah when I spoke to the attorney's office, they told me they were no longer representing him, but the insurance company tells me today that they are not permitted to contact their own insured person because he was represented by an attorney and the attorney's office won't call them back to tell them yes or no, we do or do not still represent this party.
00:28:27
Speaker
So I feel like I am just stuck. And this is exactly what we're seeing in today's reading. Paul is stuck. He is stuck and he has to be still and know that he, that God is God.
00:28:47
Speaker
Ah, and that is our daily application today is that God is still in control and Paul will eventually get to where he is supposed to go. And eventually things will clear up with our situation too in God's time.
00:29:04
Speaker
but But until God's time comes around, I need to be patient. Paul told us that it is called waiting patiently, waiting quietly, our Bible puts it.
00:29:15
Speaker
I don't know about you, but I'm not that great at it. I struggle with it. I want this to be done. This has been four months and it's only been four months. And Paul was sitting in that jail while you and I have been reading this for a couple of days, yesterday and today.
00:29:30
Speaker
Two years have passed in our story. Two years. I am hoping to God it doesn't take two years for this insurance event to settle for me.
00:29:43
Speaker
But it will be on God's time, won't it? Because my other option is that we take him to small claims court to pursue the amount. And my husband and I decided that we would forgive the balance of $851 because god has forgiven us God has forgiven me for things. And I didn't want to be guilty of that same situation that Jesus told us, where he told us about some people who owed a king money and the king forgave them of their debt.
00:30:17
Speaker
And Jesus and God have forgiven me of my sin debt. And I have not always been faithful to pay my tithe. So that's that's a money thing that i God could say I owe him.

He has forgiven me. And so if I do not also forgive for this, for the damages when it's such a smaller amount, like Jesus said, that the people who were forgiven, one person had somebody who owed him less money than he owed and had been forgiven.
00:30:47
Speaker
And I guarantee you it's less than what I would owe God had I been faithful for years to pay God his tithe that we're supposed to pay. And yet God forgives me for that. So I didn't want to be that wicked servant.
00:31:02
Speaker
So we agreed to forgive the balance and and instead of pursuing it in in court. And it's just, it's so difficult waiting for the, even though we feel like, okay, we've forgiven it. Can we just move on? It's not going anywhere.
00:31:23
Speaker
ah So it just takes time and I'm not always great about waiting. and And I'm sure you know what that feels like. So thank you

Encouragement and Hope in Waiting

00:31:35
Speaker
for joining me. I hope that you feel like you can identify, maybe not with that particular situation where you've had an insurance thing or something, but that you know what it feels like for something in your life that you've had to wait.
00:31:48
Speaker
And you just have to wait on God's time. And it can be frustrating. And we're supposed to wait quietly, wait patiently. And we're not always great about doing that.
00:31:59
Speaker
ah and And neither am I. So I just want to make sure you nobody thinks I'm perfect. Because if when I get to be perfect, everybody will be the first to know. But since that's not going to happen, don't expect that announcement anytime soon. ah ah But I do hope that you feel that throughout that a story for the daily application that you feel like God has lit your light so that you would be able to remember that example.
00:32:24
Speaker
That's the object lesson that I'm giving you. and That you would be able to remember and to be able to take hope in that, that when you are waiting for something, that we are to be still, even though it is hard.
00:32:37
Speaker
that we can do it. It's still not as hard as what Paul went through, having to wait and wait and wait while he sat in jail. and it's And whatever it is that we have to experience, it's still not as bad as what Paul was giving us the example for.
00:32:54
Speaker
So I hope that you feel encouraged by that, knowing that it could be worse. Remember we talked about that a few minutes ago? It could be worse. It could definitely be worse. There could be and not not enough money to pay us at all out of that insurance policy. And for Paul, he could be in jail, in a jail cell, but it's not, it could be worse. And I hope that you take, that you use that as your takeaway for today's daily application as well, is that while we are waiting, it could be worse with whatever it is that you have that you may be going through when you have to wait.

Speaker
I hope that you are hungry for more of God's word tomorrow, as we will pick up tomorrow with Acts chapter 27 and 28. We are going to be reading about some amazing things tomorrow. So come back. I hope you're hungry. And we will be actually finishing the book of Romans tomorrow with chapter, oh no, chapter...
00:34:06
Speaker
Tomorrow we will just be reading 27. And then on the next day, on the 22nd, we will finish reading with chapter 28. We have two more days and then we will complete the book of Acts. We're almost there.

This year is just flying by, even if you just joined us a short while ago. And if you have joined us a short while ago, i have forgotten to say welcome today. Thank you so much. God's event has just been growing subscribers every day. There were three new subscribers just yesterday on the 17th alone. So if you have joined us as a subscription on the 17th, welcome. Thank you so much for being here. Thank you so much for showing your light button.
00:34:49
Speaker
I appreciate that. We can all help spread our light to show that we are the light of the world by clicking that light button too. It looks like a thumbs up. It looks like a heart. It even looks like a share or on some places a follow or subscribe.
00:35:06
Speaker
And what that does is that helps the metrics no matter where it's being listened to, whether it's on Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, youtube video youtube music I also have this available on Pandora and iHeartRadio. It's on Podbean. It's on Overcast. It's on Cast Off.
00:35:28
Speaker
And anywhere that you click your like or follow or subscribe or share, it helps to spread the word about reading God's word. I'm trying to help ah people be encouraged this year to see these daily applications, to really live through and understand God's word, like Paul's object lessons, to do live out the Bible this year. I feel like I'm living out the Bible this year. I don't know about you, but if if you stick around for the balance of the year, because you're new, i hope that you will feel like you are living out the Bible every day.
00:36:03
Speaker
Not just living out our faith, but living out the Bible. And that is how it really makes a a huge impression and it sticks with us. That's how God is writing the word on my heart.
00:36:15
Speaker
And I know that he can do that with you as well. And so that's why I'm looking to light those light buttons so that other people can also hear God's word and be hungry for more and be encouraged to always head up your big Bible if you want more details.
00:36:31
Speaker
Because we want to spread the word about reading God's word. God's word is so wonderful. It is useful for teaching and correction. And it is equipping us for every good work that God has prepared ahead of time for us to do.
00:36:49
Speaker
All of this good work that God is preparing for us, i it's just incredible. He has so many things in mind for us to do. And I hope that you are doing them today and every day.
00:37:01
Speaker
So until we meet again for our next daily reading, I hope that you are spreading God's love and cheer everywhere you go. And I will see you again next time.
