If you would like to download my FREE calendar for keeping track of your commitment to read the Bible every day, you can find that on my site, here: https://www.inthefamilywaycoaching.com/pages/read-the-bible-in-1-year

Monthly memberships to support this event can be purchased on my site, here: https://www.inthefamilywaycoaching.com/offering_packages

Today we will finish reading the Day By Day Kid's Bible and the Book of Revelation with Chapter 22. We will also read a portion of John Chapter 10 in relation to our daily reading.

Today we will read more about the beautiful description of heaven. We will read about the river of living water and the trees of life. We will read that these things are free and available for those who choose the free gift of eternal life in Jesus.  In John Chapter 10 we read that Jesus came not only to give us life, but ABUNDANT life and He is the gate that we need to enter that life by, if we want to accept His free gift and choose life.

In our discussion for daily application we will talk about free will and the right to choose. God has always given us free will. It is up to us to make the choice between life and death. For those who choose to accept the free gift of salvation and choose life, Jesus promises that we will receive it abundantly! Every day we make choices to follow Jesus or ourselves. Those choices we make have lasting consequences, either for death or for life. Those who make the choice to serve themselves and do whatever they want will not have their names written in Jesus' Book of Life, so they will not get to be part of the abundant life that Jesus has for them. It is my prayer that everyone who hears today's reading will choose Jesus, who is The Way, The Truth, and The Life!  Hallelujah!

Final Reading: Choices Between Life and Death

00:02:08
Speaker
I am so glad that wherever you are following along, whether it's been on Amazon Music or Spotify or YouTube or YouTube Music or Pandora or iHeartRadio or any other podcasting site, thank you so much for following along for this daily reading out of the Day by Day Kids Bible written by Karen Henley.
00:02:33
Speaker
Today we are going to be reading Revelation chapter 21, and this is the final chapter. to Tonight we are going to hear from Jesus, and we are going to be seeing some more about what heaven looks like.
00:02:52
Speaker
We are going to be looking through the eyes of choice. God has always given us free will from the very beginning when he told Adam and Eve not to eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
00:03:08
Speaker
They had the choice to listen. They had the choice to follow the way of life or death. God warned them that if they were to eat of that tree, then they would surely die.
00:03:22
Speaker
And die they did. They didn't die immediately. But they did die. And that was what they didn't believe. Because the serpent at told Eve, Surely you will not die if you eat it.
00:03:40
Speaker
Instead, you will be like God, knowing good and evil. Be knowing having wisdom. And so she ate of the fruit. And she made a choice.
00:03:51
Speaker
And her choice led her to also encourage Adam to make that same choice. And together they experienced the first death for humanity.
00:04:03
Speaker
Well, actually it was their son who experienced murder first. So it was a terrible choice that led to death. We are seeing throughout the Bible that we have a choice to make every single day.
00:04:20
Speaker
And when we get to the end, God will judge us for our choices, and we need to be found in Jesus' book of life if we would like to partake of the choice of life.
00:04:33
Speaker
So we're going to be seeing the difference between making the choice of life and choosing Jesus, or choosing not to follow Jesus and accepting the choice of death.
00:04:48
Speaker
Before we get reading to tonight, let's go ahead and take out our calendar one last time. Let's get out our last sticker and cross off our day on December 31st, because we are about to hear the Bible today.
00:05:09
Speaker
I hope that you guys have enjoyed the calendar and that you have enjoyed putting your stickers on this year.
00:05:20
Speaker
Well, here we go.

Vision of Heaven

00:05:21
Speaker
This chapter is entitled, No More Night. We read yesterday that there will be no more night in heaven because God and god will be the light and Jesus the lamb, and he will light the nations.
00:05:39
Speaker
So today we're going to be seeing more of No More Light.
00:05:46
Speaker
When we left off yesterday, the last thing we read was that nothing dirty or sinful will ever get into the city. People who do wrong or lie will not get in.
00:06:00
Speaker
Only people whose names are written in Jesus's book of life can come in.
00:06:08
Speaker
Then the angel showed me the river of living water. It was as clear as it could be. it was flowing from where the king and the lamb sat.
00:06:21
Speaker
It went down the middle of the main street. This tree of life grew on each side of the river. And every month it made fruit.
00:06:34
Speaker
It was ready to pick. The tree's leaves will make people well. And nothing bad. will ever happen again.
00:06:46
Speaker
the king and Jesus will live in the city. the king's servants will serve him there. They will see his face.
00:06:59
Speaker
And his name will be on their forehead. There will not be any more night. And the people will not need lamp light or sunlight.
00:07:12
Speaker
And that is because God will give them the light they need. They will rule forever and ever.
00:07:23
Speaker
Then the angel said, You can trust these words. They are true. The Lord sent me to show what will happen soon.
00:07:38
Speaker
Jesus said, Look and listen. I am coming soon. God will bring good things to people who remember this book.
00:07:51
Speaker
And I am John. I am the one who heard and saw all of this. After I heard it and saw it, I bowed down and I started to worship at the angel's feet.
00:08:06
Speaker
But the angel said, Be sure that you do not do that. I am God's servant too. Worship God. Do not close and lock these words about God's plans, he said.
00:08:21
Speaker
It is almost time for it to happen. People who do what is wrong can keep doing wrong. People who are mean can keep being mean.
00:08:34
Speaker
People who do what is right should keep doing right. People who are sinless should keep being sinless.
00:08:47
Speaker
Look and listen, said Jesus. I am coming soon. i have my gifts with me. I will see what everybody has done.
00:09:00
Speaker
And then I will give them the good things that they are to have. I am the first and the last. I am the beginning and the end.
00:09:12
Speaker
God will bring good things to people who keep themselves clean from sin. They can go to the tree of life. They can go into the city.
00:09:24
Speaker
But people who do sinful magic must stay outside the city. People who sin with sex must stay out. People who kill must stay out.
00:09:38
Speaker
People who worship idols must stay out. Anybody who lies must stay out.
00:09:49
Speaker
I am Jesus.

Encouragement to Choose Life

00:09:51
Speaker
I have sent my angel to tell you these things. And now you can tell it to my followers. I am called King David's child.
00:10:03
Speaker
I am called the bright morning star.
00:10:07
Speaker
The spirit says, come on. The bride says, come on Whoever hears it should say, come on If you are thirsty, come.
00:10:23
Speaker
If you want, you can have living water. it is free. Be careful if you hear God's plans from this book.
00:10:34
Speaker
If you add to them, God will add troubles to you. And what if you take away from them? God will take away your part of the tree of life.
00:10:46
Speaker
He will take away your part of the holy city.
00:10:51
Speaker
Jesus says these things are true He says, yes, I am coming soon. Yes.
00:11:03
Speaker
Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. Jesus will be kind and loving to all of his people. Yes.
00:11:14
Speaker
Amen.
00:11:19
Speaker
Can I get a hallelujah? Hallelujah. Praise God. And that is the end of our final reading.
00:11:33
Speaker
It begins and ends with Jesus.
00:11:38
Speaker
We all have choices to make every single day. And we've been learning this year that our choices affect more than just the present moment when we make them.
00:11:50
Speaker
There is the big picture that we need to always remember When we make choices, we are making choices not just for this life, but for our eternal life.
00:12:04
Speaker
And our choices lead to life or death.
00:12:10
Speaker
In John chapter 10, Jesus was speaking to the Judeans. And this is what he told them.
00:12:22
Speaker
He said,
00:12:33
Speaker
The shepherd calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes ahead of them and the sheep follow him because they know his voice.
00:12:52
Speaker
Jesus told them this parable, but they did not understand what he was telling them. So Jesus said again, Amen. Amen. I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep.
00:13:09
Speaker
I am the gate. If anyone comes in through me, he will be saved. He will come and go and find pasture.
00:13:22
Speaker
I have come that they might have life, meaning the sheep, and have it abundantly.
00:13:32
Speaker
God sent Jesus so that we would not only have life, but to have abundant life.
00:13:44
Speaker
And if we make the choice to accept Jesus' free gift and follow him, when he is the way, he is the truth, and he is the life, then we too will choose life and have life abundantly.
00:14:08
Speaker
So that is my prayer for all of us here, all of you who are listening, anybody who comes across this video or audio, that if you are listening, it is my prayer that you will choose life and that that life you receive will be abundant because Jesus gives life abundantly.
00:14:36
Speaker
When God gives, he isn't cheap. He tells us that he measures out a good portion, shakes it down, tamps it down,
00:14:47
Speaker
and overflows our cups. God is generous and he gives all people who want to partake of it, the free gift of living water, which is the Holy Spirit.
00:15:06
Speaker
Well, I hope that everybody who finds this will indeed choose life. And every day when we make our decisions, we understand that we need to do the right thing out of choice because God gives us free will. That means that we have the choice to make to do what is right or to do what is wrong.
00:15:30
Speaker
If we do the right things, then we will be part of Jesus's eternal kingdom. But those who do not make the choice to follow him will choose death.
00:15:45
Speaker
All of our choices make a big difference. And we've been learning that this year. When we use our spiritual gifts, we strengthen each other and it strengthens the whole body.
00:16:02
Speaker
Everything we do has a bigger effect than we could possibly imagine. And we may think that we are just one little person, but every choice we make lasts.
00:16:16
Speaker
It has lasting effects, whether they are good or whether it is bad.
00:16:23
Speaker
So let's make the right choice to do what is right. And it may be very difficult to choose what is right, but we have learned that we can pray to Jesus and ask him for his help and he will make us strong.
00:16:41
Speaker
We have overcome sin. He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world. So if we choose life, God will strengthen us through Jesus and his Holy Spirit so that we can choose not to follow in the same sinful patterns that we have previously chosen.
00:17:07
Speaker
We can choose to do what is right and make God and Jesus the most important ones in our lives. They are important.
00:17:19
Speaker
rooting for you. They want you to choose to do what is right. When we do what is right, everything goes better.
00:17:31
Speaker
Jesus told Paul when he was persecuting the Christians, he said, it's difficult for you when you kick against the goads. That's what it says in our big Bible.
00:17:45
Speaker
But what it means in our little Bible is things are difficult when you go the wrong way. Choosing to go the wrong way makes things difficult for us.
00:17:55
Speaker
And it does not mean that choosing to do what is right will have no difficulties in life. It just means that we will be making the right choices so that things will go better for us in our afterlife.
00:18:10
Speaker
where we are building up treasures in heaven rather than building treasures down here where things are destroyed and wear out, get lost, stolen, or simply lose their value.
00:18:26
Speaker
Well, thank you so much for joining me. I am so glad that you have been with me throughout this event. No matter when you joined me, I'm just very thankful for you that you have been here. I hope that you will continue to follow along next year as we embark on a new journey.

Announcement of Next Year's Project

00:18:43
Speaker
Next year, i am ushering in a year of gratitude. We are going to have an attitude of gratitude. And I'm going to show you in the next day or a couple in the next couple of days, my supplies are not all here.
00:18:59
Speaker
i had to upsize because 365 cards did not fit in a jar. ah So I am presently in the process of still putting together ah my gratitude garden.
00:19:14
Speaker
Growing grateful gratitude garden is what we're calling it. So join me next year as we grow in gratefulness with our gratitude gardens.
00:19:25
Speaker
I'd like to encourage you to start writing down on a little note card. I'm using business card size. ah And we're going to be making like a jar, a bigger jar. And I'm using a 64 ounce jar.
00:19:41
Speaker
You can get your own like at Michael's. Maybe Walmart has them. I did not find one at Walmart in stock, but I did find them at Michael's, but I didn't get one. I was trying the 32 ounce jars.
00:19:57
Speaker
And if you wish to make your own jar with your own cards, then you would just need a packet of business cards so that you have 365 cards. every day,
00:20:10
Speaker
and then on each card every day you will write on one card what you are grateful for that day and stick it in the jar. You can put your date on it if you like. You don't have to, but you can just as a memoriam.
00:20:27
Speaker
And then when you get all the way to December 31st, you will have 365 gratefulness cards. And then you will have the opportunity to start a new tradition.
00:20:42
Speaker
where either on December 31st or on January 1st, you ring in the new year by going through those cards and remembering what you were grateful for.
00:20:54
Speaker
In the particular set that I am making, and I'm going to have available on my website where you can either purchase them or you can make your own, I am having flower stickers.
00:21:07
Speaker
And at the first of every month, we're going to be putting two flower stickers on our garden because it takes time for flowers to grow.
00:21:18
Speaker
So we're not just going to decorate our jar with flowers right from the get-go. We have to wait for the gratitude to grow, the gratefulness to grow.
00:21:28
Speaker
One thing I've noticed in life is that when you don't plant something specifically, it doesn't grow just on its own spontaneously. Unless, of course, it is a weed.
00:21:41
Speaker
A weed gets into your garden and they just grow and they take over And we want to make sure that we are taking care of our garden this year, our gratitude garden.
00:21:54
Speaker
So periodically we will have to get in there and make sure that we aren't growing any weeds. And if we are, we need to recognize those weeds right away because we all know that the longer you let a weed grow, the deeper its roots get, and then it's more difficult to yank or pull out.
00:22:11
Speaker
And we're doing things au naturel. We don't have any spiritual spray. We can spray on them to kill the weeds. So we got to get in there and dig them out by hand. And that's what we're going to be doing next year.
00:22:23
Speaker
ah is We're going to be maintaining our grateful, our our gratitude garden. And as we do, we will be growing gratefulness.
00:22:36
Speaker
So I look forward to many episodes with you next year. I don't have a set schedule yet. I'm going to try to do them several times a week. I don't think I'll be able to get to it every single day. i don't know that I will have a topic every single day. we will have to see what the Lord leads me to do.
00:22:53
Speaker
But I do want to encourage you to join me. And also, if you are interested in starting from the very beginning, and because you missed it, feel free to check out this event from the very beginning in January first Every day does have practical application for how you can use today's reading in your life today.
00:23:14
Speaker
And it helps us connect everything together. So if you've come later in the year, perhaps you will enjoy listening from the beginning so that you can put all of your puzzle pieces together and understand God's great big picture for all of us.

Conclusion and Gratitude

00:23:29
Speaker
Well, my name is Robin. I'm within the Family Way Coaching, and it has been my pleasure to be your reader this year. And i am looking forward to next year. So I hope you will join me then. Have a blessed New Year's Eve.
00:23:44
Speaker
I'm sure that it will be after on New Year's Day or later by the time you get around to watching or listening. It is about 9.30 for me, my time. Nine or 9.30? Nine o'clock.
00:23:55
Speaker
So I'm going to try and get this posted right away. So if anybody has a chance to listen to it tonight, they can. ha. And until we meet again, i hope that you are growing in God's grace and that you are choosing life every single day.
00:24:14
Speaker
I'll see you next. I'll see you another time.
