Hello friends, Tony Gonzalez here and welcome back to this week's episode where I am sharing a little bit more about dealing with grief.

And one of the things that I talk mostly about is using a lot of the things, the tips that I have shared with you through any moment. And one of them is breathing.

And this is going to be specifically ah for for obviously for for breathing through grief. And you can use it for other parts of whatever emotions you're you you're feeling or or whatever may come up. Now, I want to remind you, I'm not a therapist or a doctor.

i am a doctor of psychology, but I am not a therapist. So if you need any help with grief and this and and you're looking for that type of help, I would strongly invite you to reach out to a therapist and ask them to help you through that because it is a very serious thing to go through. Trust me, I'm going through it right now. And that's what prompted me to share what has been working for me with you here.

Understanding Grief: Emotions and Techniques

So grief can feel like a heavy weight, something that envelopes us and makes us each day feel overwhelmed. It's an overwhelming feeling. The feelings can be complex.

They can look differently for everyone. Some of them are sadness, anger, confusion, even moments of relief. It's important to remember that whatever you are feeling is valid. There's no right or wrong way to grieve.

But one technique that can help us cope even just for a moment is our breath. If we're breathing, we're alive. When ah life feels chaotic, returning our awareness to our breath can bring us back to the present, allowing us to find a sense of calm amid a storm.

Breathing Exercise for Calmness and Release

Let's take a moment to practice together. If you're in a safe space, I invite you to get comfortable. You can sit lie down, whatever feels best for you.

Now, gently close your eyes if that feels okay for you or lower your gaze. Let's start by noticing our breath. Don't force it, just observe how it flows in and out like a gentle wave on a shore.

Inhale slowly through your nose. One, two, three, four. Hold that breath for just a moment.

Now exhale gently through your mouth like you're blowing out a soft candle or a flame. One, two, three, four, five.

Let's do that again. Inhale deeply. One, two, three, four. Hold.

You know, grief often brings a sense of isolation, as if we're navigating a journey unseen by others. But I want to remind you that you're not alone. Many people walk this path, and there are moments of connection and understanding, even in our darkest times.
