It's not based on what you're doing today so for example a pitcher or a hitter who is working on his speed and agility drills was working on his explosiveness all winter for every single day for those last six months now you're gonna see the payoff and When you're competing, whether it's against your teammates or another team, the velocity, the exit below, the 60 time, all of those things are going to show what you were doing the last six months. So here's the truth.

If you didn't put in the work, you're not going to see the results that you want today. The effort that you have put in or you haven't put in over the last six months is going to be very visible in every game, every practice, and how you feel physically and mentally over the season.

Mindset for Athletes Transitioning to Business

Your current position, income, skill set in business is a direct result of those actions that you took a year ago or six months ago. Maybe you were doing networking, you were reading, studying up on marketing or whatever field it is you are in, learning about sales, et cetera. Maybe you weren't.

You need that same work ethic, discipline, and mindset that's going to lead you to success just like it did in sports.

These skills can be translated directly into business ventures and the only difference is you don't always Get instant feedback like you might on the field in Sports if you consistently show up and do the work you will start to see the results sometimes you see it right away if you let's just say for example you practice and two days in a row, three days in a row, and all of a sudden you see the new skill payoff in the next scrimmage that you do when you, let's say you were working on bunting. Bad example, but let's say you were working on bunting, you've been working on it for two or three days, you got it down, now you lay a bunt down in the scrimmage, great. In business, it's gonna take a little bit longer for things

So every decision that we make today has a direct impact on our future, whether we're an athlete or in a new career. ah In sports, that extra hour in the gym, the extra set of drills, the film session that you didn't wanna do but you did anyways, it's gonna pay off in the form of better performance, some recognition, and ultimately what we all want, more success and better performance.

Setting Goals and Building Habits

in business, right, the course we decided to take, the networking event that we went to, the books that we read, the new skills that we've been building over the last six months, that's all building a foundation for a long-term successful career. So again, the quote-unquote hustle today will turn into your opportunities tomorrow. One thing I want you to ask yourself today is what are you doing today that your future self will thank you for? What's your six-month plan, whether in athletics or business?

And then if you keep doing what you've been doing, where do you think you'll be in the next six months? So a question can be at the end of the day, if you're journaling, what did I do today to help me in six months? What did I do today to help me in a year? And then another question is, if I repeated today over and over for the next six months in a year, where would I be? Is that closer to where I want to be or is it further away? And then you can go ahead and adjust accordingly.
