After nearly a year, the Primal Baseball Podcast is back! In this episode, we dive into the incredible opportunities available in today’s world for learning and getting things done faster than ever before. We’ll also explore the powerful topic of fear—how to understand it, face it, and use it to fuel your growth both on and off the field.

To wrap up, I’ll share an exciting shift in our focus: creating content to support retired and retiring athletes as they navigate the transition into new careers and industries. Plus, we’ve got something big on the horizon—our brand-new website is launching this spring, packed with resources, programs, and tools to help you take your game, career, and life to the next level.

Welcome back everybody to the Primal Baseball podcast. It has been about 10 months to a year since the last episode went live.

Future Plans for 2025

00:00:10
Speaker
We are currently trying to get our website up and running for the new year. So stay tuned in 2025 for new content, programming, and website launch.

Host's Personal Updates

00:00:24
Speaker
Over the last 10 months, there's been a few changes in my life. I've started working in Boston and moved down to Boston. So those last 10 months have kind of been figuring everything out, getting a lay of the land and setting up a new routine and lifestyle for myself. I have finished up my baseball career, did that last January, so a lot of updates do come.
00:00:49
Speaker
There will be a deeper dive into those life events. However, the first podcast back, I thought we could start with something shorter, just get everything everybody back into the swing of things.

Advancements Over Generations

00:01:02
Speaker
And a couple things that I've been thinking about lately are fear. And then the second thing that I've been thinking of is how easy it is in today's world to accomplish things that we want to do.
00:01:14
Speaker
So I'll jump into the easy part first. It's never been easier to get things done whether you think back to three generations ago or four generations ago or just even one generation ago. Every single generation has it easier than the one that raised them. So every generation from now on, ah including ourselves and our kids and then and their kids and their kids, will have it easier and easier and easier and easier. As society continues to move forward with technology, healthcare, care anything you want to think of, every single year there's improvements and progress in each space, in each industry. So whether you look back
00:01:59
Speaker
to maybe our grandparents where they didn't have telephones or the generation before that where they might not have had access to clean water. Every single generation it just gets easier and easier to be healthy and to live the life that you would like to live. If you look back to maybe a generation before us and our parents or our aunts and uncles when they were going to college or when they were going to high school they had to read out of the textbook. We have access to the internet to study. We have chat GBT if we want to study, if we want to know answers to homework.

Using Resources for Goals

00:02:32
Speaker
Anything we want is at our fingertips. We know how to use it technology. We know how to access the information. So if you are wanting to do something, all it is is putting it into action. If you want to learn Spanish, go online.
00:02:48
Speaker
and google or use chatgbt to learn spanish if you want to learn how to code same thing it's all available you can create a podcast you can create a business you can learn how to throw harder you can learn how to lift faster stronger more weight all you want to do all you have to do is look it up so there is no excuse to say that you don't have access to something obviously i understand that in some circumstances This is an issue, but for the majority of the people out there, especially the ones listening to this podcast, you have all the resources, you have access to everything you need, and you can get it done. The second part of this episode, I would like to touch on fear.

Confronting Fears

00:03:31
Speaker
something I've been thinking about and implemented into my own life. I have a whiteboard in my room in my apartment in Boston and on it, I have a running tally or a running list of fears, fears that I need to tackle, fears that I have, whether they're false or true. So what we can do is in order to take the power away from the fear, we can write it down.
00:03:55
Speaker
writing it down not only gets it out of your head but then it gives you an outside perspective you can then look at that fear and assess whether it's real in your life whether it's actually in reality or just a fake fear and then from there you can either let it go if it is a fake fear or if it is not a fake fear and it's real, you can start leaning into it. If one of the fears, for example, is talking to new people or meeting new people that you don't know, maybe a little bit of a social fear, you can start leaning into that. You can say hi to a stranger, you can start talking to a stranger, have a conversation with somebody you don't know, and you can start to work through these fears. You can start to check off these fears and you can start to move forward
00:04:37
Speaker
and unlock parts of yourself that you didn't know were there or you didn't think it was possible to get to. I'm going to end today's episode there.

Again, in the future, we're going to do some deep dives into what life has been like over the past year and then also do some more guest speakers and hopefully we'll be able to get on some pro guys before the season starts and then some maybe players of Primal Baseball program as we get going throughout the season, the spring season and the summer season. We are also going through a little bit of a shift at Primal Baseball where we are starting to create some content that is for retired athletes or athletes who are in college and thinking about their next step in a different profession, maybe not
00:05:43
Speaker
Major League Baseball or professional baseball, but trying to go into a setting of a business or healthcare or whatever you are trying to do post baseball after you retire in your baseball career, it can be very daunting, it can be very scary, there can be a lot of frustration, there can be a lot of fear, and we're gonna work through that with every single baseball player that is going through the same thing that every single athlete whether collegiately high school or professionally does once their athletic career is over. Hope you guys enjoyed this. Looking forward to talking to you guys more. We'll see you next episode.
