Thanksgiving Reflections and Seahawks' Victory

00:00:00
Tristan Amundson
Miles, 1621 is traditionally the date that people look back to and say the first Thanksgiving occurred.

Seahawks vs. Cardinals: Game Recap

00:00:11
Tristan Amundson
When I think of that day, when I think of all the Thanksgivings after, truly being thankful for something. I picture right now a sea hawk.
00:00:27
Tristan Amundson
Swooping down and getting a fresh salmon out of the Puget Sound. Maybe there was some salmon at that first Thanksgiving. That Seahawk just tore into that salmon. The same way that the Seahawks tore in to a tiny little red bird. A beautiful Cardinal.
00:00:46
Tristan Amundson
but it didn't stand a chance. This was a dominant performance, Miles. I personally am truly thankful that the Seahawks not only gave us a victory, but also gave us first place in the, in the blah, blah, blah, in the division.

Coaching Decisions: Anticipating Changes?

00:01:03
Tristan Amundson
There we go. How you doing, my friend?
00:01:06
M dub
Tristan, I am thankful to be back with you on the microphones. Not only that, but we are talking about my favorite my favorite game that the Seahawks have played since we started this fantastic project, a 16 to six home victory over the Arizona Cardinals. In the hours since this victory, I have been thinking about a sentence I said into this very microphone, into your ear,
00:01:34
M dub
And then into the listeners ear in about January, you can check the archives. It was during those weeks when the Seahawks did not have anybody in their head coaches front office. And it took a little longer than it it normally does for NFL teams. But I remember saying the sentence.
00:01:52
M dub
At least this is how it was going to go if they were going to hire Mike

Seahawks' Defensive Prowess

00:01:57
M dub
McDonald. That was the apple of my eye. That was what I wanted to happen after the rug felt pulled out from under me when they fired Pete. But after that happened, I was completely locked in on Mike McDonald from the start. I do have the tapes, the receipts, whatever generational ah ah generation you'd like to say the phrase from.
00:02:19
M dub
When I said that in January, I was waiting for a day like this day, 16 to six limit the Cardinals to six points. And this team is Kyla Murray. This team is Marvin Harrison Jr. This team has James Connor, who's been ah receiving all sorts of well-deserved praise for being a tough physical runner.
00:02:38
M dub
The team that Cardinals were first place in the division coming into the day. Six points, it was a defensive masterpiece from top to bottom. This game, the Seahawks were losing three to zero for most of the second quarter. And even then, I was sitting there going, this feels good. I feel like I'm in a luxurious hot tub right now at defense, because even when the Cardinals were getting yards, those yards were uphill yards. Those were tough yards that the Cardinals really had to earn. There was nothing easy.
00:03:08
M dub
Fortunately, the offense put some stuff together in the second half. And of course the defense in the second half gets the tremendous pick six. I was ecstatic about it. I was really ecstatic about it. Even when the, again, even when the team was losing, because I was going, Hey, this is finally a sign that the program is really going to go somewhere in 2020, 2025 and beyond. And Hey, it maybe starting in 2024 as well.
00:03:34
Tristan Amundson
it It's a it's a great point. It really masterpieces the perfect word. I mean, it really was a defensive masterpiece. The. The thing that I first think of when I think of defensive masterpiece is that takes individual contributors, right? That takes guys doing their job. And then it takes your stars looking like stars, right? And but there's a couple examples that I think we should talk through. They're obvious. I you i don't think we're we're going to reinvent the wheel here. But it occurred to me, there's there's a few guys as you watch this game
00:04:10
Tristan Amundson
their play really stood out and it's a good sign when you go into a game and you think, is this going to be a big Witherspoon game? right Is this going to be a big Byron Murphy game? Will this be a big game from Big Cat? Will this be a big game from Draymont Jones?
00:04:27
Tristan Amundson
and When you find that you're counting multiple guys, will this be a big Ernest Jones game, right? As you start counting, EJ, by the way, is what coach calls him. and I kind of like that. I might just start calling him EJ.

Key Player Contributions

00:04:41
Tristan Amundson
When you realize there's five, six, seven guys on defense that you can picture having a massive impact game,
00:04:49
Tristan Amundson
that starts getting you excited because the odds of one or two of them coming through really increases. So let's let's talk about a few of these guys, Miles. I actually don't have it on my notes, but I want to start with Draymont Jones because this is another game where he had a legitimate impact on the defensive line. He would you notice Draymont when he was out there again. um But listen, we have to talk about Big Cat. We we really like The impact that he had, you, I don't know the last time I'm sure. I mean, listen, I'm trying to think of the last time I watched a Seahawks game where as I watch it, I was like that defensive lineman is causing all kinds of trouble. And he was my defensive lineman and the the trouble that big cat was, was creating. Listen, they lined him on the inside.
00:05:44
Tristan Amundson
He destroyed them. He lined them on the outside. He destroyed them. Two of his sacks, one sack came from him over the nose tackle. The other sack came for him way wide on the right side of the line. Um, his impact was undeniable, but let's talk about his first sack.

Pivotal Interception Play

00:06:02
Tristan Amundson
So his first big sack. He, um, in fact, I think this maybe counts as a half a sack. He might've shared this one with, with, with Jaren Reed.
00:06:13
Tristan Amundson
He puts on this unbelievable move, swims past the center. I wondered how Jaron and and ah Williams got into the backfield and in Kyler Murray's face so fast. Cause you think to yourself, well, even if, you know, those guys are just standing there, it's going to be hard to get through a massive lineman. What happened on this play? Big Cat.
00:06:38
Tristan Amundson
like a cat just jumps to the right side. The center has no idea what's happening on the play. He's out of it before he even knows that they're playing football on that down. and Now it's Williams and Reed against one guard. It's one guard and I put myself in this guy's shoes as I'm watching the replay. This one poor man is being pushed simultaneously by Williams and Reed and ah like There's nothing a human could do. There's not a human on earth equipped to handle 600 pounds of pure muscle pushing you. that I mean, I'm trying to think of what the equivalent that would be like standing in front of.
00:07:21
Tristan Amundson
and And just to see them envelop the quarterback Murray so quickly on that play, it was incredible. The other one that comes to mind when he's lined up on the far right side and how quickly he got around the corner and and and put pressure on Kyler Murray, it was fun to see, and this is what I want to ask you, is is this the result of of Mike getting his system fully baked in. Is this what we're seeing right now? Because that in the beginning of the year, I don't remember them putting um Williams ah far on the right side of the line you know and and basically be a defensive end.
00:08:03
Tristan Amundson
the the multi the The multiplicity that we're seeing on this defense right now, Draymont Jones is all over the place. They're lining them up everywhere. um ah Murphy is all over the place, being lined up everywhere. Williams is. Are we seeing this this defense kind of just, I don't, i mean it's clicking in a way. um I'm out of words, Miles. this It's wild to see the multiplicity that they're even doing just on the defensive line.
00:08:31
M dub
I think so. And what, uh, what got me feeling good. I mean, this was great right off the bat because the the team had five sacks in the game. Two of them were on the opening drive. Uh, two of them were back to back on a ah very short opening drive by the Cardinals. And I think it was a third down play. And, um, there was, it was one of those nightmare blitz scenarios that we were on the receiving end when McDonald was on the Ravens last year where it was just such a,
00:09:00
M dub
an intimidating combo of people in the box. And then it's a really it's a really disorienting combination of guys who are rushing and guys who are dropping back. And right right when the ball was snapped, I thought, that that looks like trouble to contain. And sure enough, Tyreese Knight ended up being the guy who got in to give the sack.
00:09:21
M dub
a snack and a sack on the play.
00:09:23
Tristan Amundson
You did get a snack, yeah.
00:09:27
M dub
That is not something that I felt a lot in the first half of the season, where in that moment between when the ball is snapped and the sack is happening, I'm going, whoa, that looked really complicated.
00:09:39
M dub
That looked like a lot of trouble to handle. And sure enough, it got home in a

Seahawks' Defensive Strategy

00:09:44
M dub
convincing way. Can I read the stat line for Williams? Just that the totality of it.
00:09:48
Tristan Amundson
please Please do, but just ah right before you do it, it was so great to see that sack from Knight. I mean, to see him involved in this game was so cool.
00:09:53
M dub
oh Yes, yeah.
00:09:56
M dub
Drive one, yeah. ah
00:09:56
Tristan Amundson
But yeah, exactly.
00:09:58
Tristan Amundson
yeah Give us some big cat stat.
00:10:00
M dub
Yeah, the Big Cat stats, two and a half sacks, six tackles, including three for loss and a total of four quarterback hits, another pass defended. That's something, I mean, ah the Arizona offense was only on the field for 58 total plays, you know, and and Big Cat can't be on the field for all 100% of those. That's doing something pretty destructive on every second, every third play. Yeah, tremendous. And I thought as it, it really continued momentum, like an avalanche for the second half. And yeah I thought he was really vibing with the crowd. And let me know if you, if you think this is right. I was getting the feeling from him that the crowd was getting so juiced up and so ravenous for this defensive performance. I thought it was, even though he's been with the team for a year,
00:10:49
M dub
I thought he felt a whole new appreciation for, oh, this Seattle crowd would rather see this than the quarterback throw for forward touchdowns. This is, this is the, this is the meal that this crowd wants to eat is this type of performance. There's nothing more that they want. They don't want to see a 250 yard day from a wide receiver. They want to see this. I feel like that's the legacy of the, the legion of boom and a, you know, just a smart, agile,
00:11:18
M dub
Tough defense and it it came back to life again. That's the feeling that I was getting as he, ah you know, ah motion, not motion, but, you know, as he he got the crowd rev revved up after ah each successive destructive second half play.
00:11:36
Tristan Amundson
yeah So I think that's so well said, man. And I i think that perfectly describes um the ethos of the Seattle fan and and what this fan base, ah you said it perfectly. It's what we crave more than anything is destruction ah from our defense and dominat and really a dominating performance the way that they um put together.
00:11:59
Tristan Amundson
I love the call out of Big Cat. I love the call out of Knight specifically because it's it's fun to see a guy that, okay, you know, we start the season. This guy's getting on the field one or two snaps a game to see him really come into his own and make big impact plays. I watched him a lot when I watched the replays. And just as you watch, he seems to be in pretty good position.
00:12:25
Tristan Amundson
Let's talk about the the interception because you bring it up. Let's talk about the interception. and And I want to talk about it from this lens. This is what I hear Mike say to the media over and over again. It takes all 11. It takes all 11. This isn't about, Hey, we needed two new linebackers. This isn't about the defensive line. This isn't about spoon. This isn't about love. This is about a cohesive unit.
00:12:52
Tristan Amundson
Let's talk through this a little bit. Maybe we can go back and forth. That interception play, they fake the run, fake the handoff to the running back, running.
00:13:02
M dub
ah Can I hit pause before this?
00:13:04
Tristan Amundson
Yes.
00:13:04
M dub
There was this, this interception came right after the timeout fiasco.
00:13:05
Tristan Amundson
Oh, you're yeah.
00:13:08
M dub
I was, I was, I really, I cannot believe the roller coaster of emotions in a minute. ah but This is the best play of the year.
00:13:08
Tristan Amundson
That's right.
00:13:20
M dub
and but The minute before this ball is snapped is such a crazy one. ah but um yeah Get the fourth down stuff.
00:13:25
Tristan Amundson
the The people are booing. Everyone's second guessing Mike in that moment. You imagine Mike.
00:13:31
M dub
and turns out they've they've called the timeout. And it's like, no way. This is all going to be thrown away because of this. like Stop them two times in a row. And then, my goodness, never before has a coaching decision just like pivoted ah so quickly. and And also,

Offensive Struggles and Highlights

00:13:49
M dub
when I rewatched it, I realized,
00:13:51
M dub
Second down Reek Wolan makes it an outstanding open field tackle third down It's Byron Murphy who who has a run stuff just just to get there So as you say takes all 11, you know It's it's Reek Wolan coming off his receiver to make a tackle on a runner and then Byron Murphy getting a a pretty short game on the inside. So anyway, yes, it takes all 11. And now we have set up outside. There's so much going on on the play. that It's before the play was a lot going on.
00:14:24
Tristan Amundson
No, it's this is perfect because you have to have that context. And yeah, I mean, so far, this is the best play of the year. So it's worthy of the context of the plays and the time out.
00:14:36
Tristan Amundson
it's it's a it's a um It's a fake run play down the middle, right? So everyone is ready to collapse on the inside. If you look as you're watching it, Ernest Jones is maybe two feet from the the the defensive lineman in front of him. I mean, it is a bunched formation. Everybody's in there.
00:14:57
Tristan Amundson
Um, Kyler keeps it and he starts to roll to his right, right? And the first thing you notice on the TV copy instantly is Devin Witherspoon collapsing in, sees what Kyler's up to.
00:15:10
Tristan Amundson
the We could probably spend some time just the little spin move he does.
00:15:14
M dub
I know what you're telling. Yes. Yes.
00:15:16
Tristan Amundson
Oh, it's unbelievable.
00:15:16
M dub
It was unbelievable. Yeah. Yeah.
00:15:19
Tristan Amundson
The, the spin move and the fact that he is the athlete that could recover that quickly. And now within two or three steps, he's running stride for stride. Now here's the first we call timeout on the play here. Not no pun intended. Let's just pause for a second. Because I want to click back on, it takes all 11 spoon has caused the problem, right? Spoon.
00:15:45
Tristan Amundson
bit on the play, but he didn't bite too hard. And now suddenly he's free to run with Kyler. Now, now Kyler has a bit of an issue right now. He has an elite fast athlete running with him. Who is right behind spoon perfectly on the line.
00:16:02
M dub
the the I noticed this too. So people criticized Murray for aim air mailing this pass. The the more I re-watched the play, the more I thought that his perspective was just, it it was kind of an optical illusion because Spoon is right in front of him and then it's Tyreese Knight right behind him on a line and it's like Spoon Knight the receiver and it's and and then a safety behind him. So it's it's like this very bizarre like,
00:16:29
M dub
Four in a row type thing. and or is i mean It's called me Bryant, duh. The safety is mine.
00:16:35
Tristan Amundson
No, no, no, but you're you're saying it perfectly because that's exactly what I saw.
00:16:39
M dub
Yeah.
00:16:40
Tristan Amundson
And this is kind of where I see it takes all 11. It is Spoon. He's on him. But it is Knight on the line of scrimmage running there. and And my takeaway there is if something doesn't work, right if if if Kyler goes for it and Spoon isn't able to make the tackle, he has backup running stride for stride with him. Knight was going to blow that play up. So let's say you know maybe Kyler is able to do a cool little juke on Spoon.
00:17:09
Tristan Amundson
He had his buddy running right behind him, doing his job on the line of scrimmage. And so, and I guess my point being run play destroyed. There's no way, there's there's no way he's going to be able to run it. If he does, he's going to have to juke both spoon and night and that would maybe get him the first down. Okay. So that's, I think you nailed it. That's kind of the perfect intro to it.
00:17:33
Tristan Amundson
As you watch the play develop, Ernest Jones instantly, he's running at an angle towards, I think it's Williams or, uh, uh, Wilson is the wide receiver that he's throwing it to Michael Wilson. He's suddenly running to an angle at him. Uh, love at free safety is running at an angle towards the wide receiver. And then of course the infamous Kobe Bryant is running at at his angle. So it's like.
00:18:00
Tristan Amundson
If you watch this play, the defense has completely covered and eliminated every single option. Kyler has no options. He has no good options. Option one, probably best option is just run out of bounds. Just run it out of bounds. Option two, I guess would be throw it out of bounds.
00:18:22
Tristan Amundson
for an incompletion. That would probably be his, one of those two things would have, would have been his best option in that scenario. He had no safety valve. He had no running lane. And as we find out one Aaron throw and Kobe Bryant's right there, I think it's such a beautiful example of all 11 guys playing together. Am I, I mean, am I making too much of this? Or I just, I, I just keep hearing in Mike's words all 11, all 11.
00:18:51
M dub
No, I think you're right. I think, well, the thing is, I think it was a completable pass. Wilson wasn't totally covered tightly, you know?
00:18:59
Tristan Amundson
Yeah.
00:19:00
M dub
Bryant's behind him. But I do think, like, Tyreese Knight's contribution on that play doesn't go on the stat sheet. But I think just his, to me, when I watched it, I was like, his visual interference really, um I think it really like totally messed it up, like what Murray was literally seeing.

Offensive Line Challenges

00:19:18
M dub
um ah Hey, maybe this is where Murray's height comes into play. I don't know.
00:19:22
Tristan Amundson
Maybe.
00:19:23
M dub
um ah Yeah.
00:19:23
Tristan Amundson
Yeah. So, sorry.
00:19:26
M dub
and And this is before the actual, before blocking to release it, which I have to admit, I did it totally key and audit, it but I know those guys are just blocking like maybe acts to clear the way um because it was not obvious.
00:19:27
Tristan Amundson
sorry Exactly, we haven't even gotten.
00:19:39
Tristan Amundson
app what
00:19:41
M dub
It was not obvious that he, once he intercepted that, I was not thinking this is a touch. It wasn't an obvious pick six, but yeah.
00:19:48
Tristan Amundson
And that to me is where the speed kills because Kobe takes the ball, obviously gets some great blocks and keeps running. Do you notice at the end of that play, almost just for good measure, um, Witherspoon gets to two pretty key blocks and takes out two Cardinals at the exact same time. He basically just kind of collapses on them and they just fall over him. And so at the end of that play, it's like.
00:20:13
Tristan Amundson
If Devin Witherspoon hasn't already done enough, he's like, Oh, let me take out these two guys right before the touchdown, which is just, I think he just plays it 110 miles an hour. You know, I just think he's always playing at that high rate. Um, what'd you think of the homage to Marshawn Lynch there at the end?
00:20:31
M dub
It was, you know, it's so funny. It's such an obscure thing, but I appreciate it. I think it was Adam Amin on the broadcast who just knew that it was happening right away. I appreciated it. Let me just ah Getting to the totality of the defense, some stats on the day.
00:20:48
M dub
James Connor, eight yards on seven carries.
00:20:51
Tristan Amundson
Mmm.
00:20:53
M dub
58 total snaps for the Arizona offense. So that's great. that There's a lot of games where the Hawks have been in the 70s because the opponent is sustaining drives. So when it's only 58 snaps, you know each of your star players can play a higher percentage of the snap count.
00:21:06
M dub
you know There's no rule. It has to be 60% for Big Cat. You're looking more at the total snaps. so Out of those 58 offensive snaps, so five sacks, five tackles for loss.
00:21:19
M dub
ah There were four holding penalties on Arizona, so those are those don't feel like impactful moments. That's just as big as a sack. um Three of those four were accepted.
00:21:27
Tristan Amundson
Yeah.
00:21:29
M dub
There was another one that was already a tackle for loss, so Seattle declined it. And we did see, again, that Mike is willing to give up a short completion.
00:21:43
M dub
Murray's stat line in this game did not look like he was struggling. He completed a high percentage of passes. We saw Trey McBride, the tight end, have a career day, reminded me of Hunter Henry carving things up in the Patriots game back in week three.
00:21:54
Tristan Amundson
Yeah.
00:21:56
M dub
But getting to the red zone, Cardinals in total had seven plays for four yards in the end zone. So you add up all those things together. There's just not a lot happening on those 58 offensive plays for Arizona.
00:22:11
M dub
Yeah.
00:22:12
Tristan Amundson
No, you you're yeah, you're absolutely right. The it's clear. And I think some of this is maybe the trust. And we go back to playing with all 11 defenders on each play.
00:22:23
Tristan Amundson
the The trust and the the trust of the philosophy, I think, is what we're seeing right now. We're seeing the players trust the philosophy, keep it in front of us. Like, let's force them to make mistakes. Let's eliminate the big play. The big play is the is the thing that's really changed. And it's easy as a Seahawks fan who's been watching Kyler for a while. Now, Kyler has moments of brilliance, but he also historically has had a lot of of tough games against us as well.
00:22:53
Tristan Amundson
That said, this was a new Kyler Murray coming to town. This is a Kyler Murray that has been tearing it up and and playing at a really, really high level. So the idea that the Seahawks were able to to slow this offense down, you name some of these guys. Listen,
00:23:10
Tristan Amundson
James Connor is having an unbelievable season. James Connor's ripping it up. um Marvin Harrison Jr. um has been up and down, but he's certainly shown his big playability. um Trey McBride, he came through, he was able to do his thing. um This is a pretty good Arizona team. What a difference a couple of weeks make, man, because when we're going with when when we're going into the bye week,
00:23:36
Tristan Amundson
We've just lost to the Rams. And now you're thinking, what are the odds that we can win both at San Francisco and then I think this is the final home game against Arizona. This is gonna be really tough. I mean, let's win one of these games. Winning both is a tall order. We haven't even taught, listen, I started out saying how thankful I am for this win. This was a perfect NFC West weekend.
00:24:05
Tristan Amundson
Arizona obviously loses. San Francisco gets its doors blown off. The Rams get their doors blown off. This was best case scenario, best weekend. If you're a Seahawks football fan, it doesn't get better than this weekend. This was ah the the best case regular season. You go to bed Sunday night with a smile on your face. It was unbelievable, man. It was so good.
00:24:34
M dub
It was pretty phenomenal and it. Yeah, it's still a long way to go. I mean, we we both we both know that and they're definitely cooking up a great defense in Arizona as well. It didn't seem like it last year, but um you can see that there's a lot of progress made over there. Tristan, we have been talking about this game for. About 25 minutes. Right now, if you look on your podcast player, 25 minutes and We have not mentioned a and a player on the offensive side of the ball for the Seahawks.
00:25:10
Tristan Amundson
It's pretty incredible.
00:25:11
M dub
The Seahawks offense did score 10 points in this game. There was a tremendous offensive performance that we'll get to in a second. But I do want to talk about the offensive line.
00:25:24
Tristan Amundson
Absolutely.
00:25:24
M dub
ah So in in August and September on these airwaves, I was very supportive and enthusiastic of John Schneider's plan to have the cheapest offensive line in the league and kind of play this fun budgetary game. My feelings have changed. My feelings have changed since then. and And here's the analogy that I'm thinking of with the offensive line. Again, the 32nd most expensive offensive line in the league and the most expensive wide receiver room in the league. Here's my analogy. Let me know what you think. The Seahawks have booked a beautiful hotel suite.
00:26:03
M dub
It's got several rooms. It's got a view of the ocean. They've booked this hotel suite. They haven't booked an airplane ticket to get there. So the hotel suite is our wide receiver room. Boy, it's beautiful. We love all three of these guys. We love all four. We love wide receiver four. We love wide receiver five. We love tight end one, tight end two. What a great group of guys. We need the plane ticket to get there. And to me, that's, that's the offensive line. So the NFL gives you so much money to plan your vacation. In my analogy, that's the salary cap, you know?
00:26:35
M dub
Um, and to me, it feels like we just can't get into that hotel suite really, because, uh, we don't have the plane ticket to get there. So it just makes me wonder, let's make sure we buy that plane ticket. That's, um, and in in my mind, that is having five completely established offensive starters. We know who they are the day after the draft. That's, that's what booking the plane ticket means to me.
00:27:02
M dub
And then ah the hotel suite can have a you know three rooms instead of four or or what have you. I think that's just kind of that's just kind of how it has to happen

JSN's Breakthrough Moment

00:27:12
M dub
in the future. um What do you think about my analogy there?
00:27:16
Tristan Amundson
Sometimes you need to have the garden view, right? you You're on the hotel website and you're you're choosing. Do I get the ocean view? Oh, there's a partial ocean view. There's the garden view. Maybe partial ocean is good enough. And and you get lucky and you get that that you know that room that it's mostly ocean and you're good to go. I think you're right, man. Listen, I want to talk about the running game because I think the running game actually looked pretty good.
00:27:44
Tristan Amundson
But you can't have the running game conversation without having an honest O-line conversation. And the truth is this O-line is still struggling. Now, bright spots.
00:27:55
Tristan Amundson
Can I give you two bright spots? I think, I think.
00:27:57
M dub
There are bright spots. That is true.
00:28:00
Tristan Amundson
Charles continued to have a good, is continued to have a good season. I don't think Charles looks dominant. Best left tackle in the league, but he he looks good. Abe Lucas continues. You can run behind Abe. Like Abe is going to get you, get you what he can. And, and I think we're going to continue to see the improvement there. Um,
00:28:23
Tristan Amundson
Listen, I've been a big olu olu a Timmy fan since you first taught me how to say his name and I i want to continue to believe in him and i'm I'm going to give him some grace and I think he's coming along. i i i am um I'm going to continue to bet on olu.
00:28:40
Tristan Amundson
um Listen, man, the guard spots, it's, it's a challenge. And I've told you many times specifically left guard is a spot that really scares me on this team. And, and you saw this game. I mean, there were multiple sacks that I saw coming right through that left guard spot where Lincoln just seems to be overwhelmed at times. Um, you know, he's, he's a guy that's been around for quite a while and and he does have a good book of business, but, um,
00:29:09
Tristan Amundson
but it's being exposed. I i totally agree. i can Can I try to flip the the page a little bit? I mean, I agree with you. I don't know what we're going to do about this O line. It's going to be a problem.
00:29:21
M dub
I don't think there's much you can do in 2024 but um one because I agree with you with the run game in that I think we have two really good running backs and I think in this game they did it a better job of utilizing Charbonnet in the kind of short-yarded situations in Walker Mora on the down-to-down I think I think we've got those roles pretty well established looked up on pro football reference yards before contact there. I'm not sure how they get in there with a microscope ah into these lines of scrimmages and figure out the yardage, but, uh, it's, it's the best we've got yards before contact. So we're saying this is more of an offensive line stat than a running back stat for the most part, you know, some, you know, for the most Walker ranks 39th in the league.
00:30:11
M dub
There are 47 qualified running backs and Zach Charbonnet is 47. So so that's that's tough.
00:30:17
Tristan Amundson
wow
00:30:19
M dub
So so yeah, yeah that's that's the that was the number I was thinking of. Oh, the other number I was looking at, they showed an interesting graphic on the broadcast of the how the Seahawks have been moving in the two minute drill before halftime.
00:30:26
Tristan Amundson
Wow.
00:30:35
M dub
Six of Gino's 12 passing touchdowns this year are in that to that two minute drill space before that, which is just a crazy percentage.
00:30:41
Tristan Amundson
Oh, it's your save.
00:30:44
M dub
So there's something about that point in the game. some Even though the defense knows pass is coming, maybe because they know there's so many passing options, they can't really blitz.
00:30:56
M dub
so's But then Arizona was getting home with four quite ah quite often in this game. Anyway, so those those were some of the numbers I had on offensive line, but let let's flip it to the positive because there were.
00:31:07
M dub
There is a lot going on on the offense as well.
00:31:08
Tristan Amundson
there There's some good positives. i Listen, and I don't want to belabor this point. I just want to put it in everyone's minds. As I watched, I watched this game a couple of times and I took a long time just watching each run play. And as I watched the running game, yeah so first of all, you're right. There's there's a lot of contact behind line of scrimmage. There's a lot of times it's going wrong.
00:31:33
Tristan Amundson
But there was enough encouraging, and listen, I'm not talking about massively sexy plays, I'm talking about four yards here, five yards there, good running plays by both running backs. I i tend to believe Mike, that he was asked about it on the Monday um press conference, and I tend to believe him when he says, we're close. And he when he says, i think I think we're heading in the right direction, we're doing the right things, this is gonna turn around.
00:32:03
Tristan Amundson
There were a couple of plays there where canine was out in the second level and he just barely got tripped up. And that I always think about plays like that when we, when we're looking at stats where I could easily see this a game where we rushed another 20 or 30 yards. If he breaks, you know, a couple of those big runs, it's still not going to be a perfect day. And I'm not saying it is. In fact, it still might even be sub 100, which is not great. Um, but.
00:32:34
Tristan Amundson
um
00:32:36
Tristan Amundson
It's tough because I feel like I'm trying to say two opposing ideas at the same time. This offensive line is a problem. That's the truth. Full stop. I think that they are heading in the right direction. I think a lot of the things they're working on are potentially fixable. The only position that I'm really, really concerned about is the left guard position where I don't think we have a fix for that at all. i think I could make an argument. Christian Haynes is going to continue to develop at Right Guard. Let's see him get better. Abe Lucas helps him get better. Olu is going to get better. Lincoln is, with all due respect to a veteran, like he's not at the point of his career where it's like, hey, just give him a couple more shots at it. he's He is the the epitome of a good
00:33:28
Tristan Amundson
left guard backup kind of guy in this league that's been around for 11 years. I mean, he's he's he's already done his work, I guess is what I'm saying. He's already proven it a long time ago. This is not the time in his career to to make history. So that's the one that gives me concern.

Optimism for Offensive Potential

00:33:44
Tristan Amundson
Let me give you two. Let's talk about two real quick though.
00:33:48
Tristan Amundson
the screen game that we saw. and And some of them were screened, some of them were just little dump downs to K9, but the screen game to JSN and to K9 to me looked a bit novel in this game. I don't feel like this is a team. We haven't seen a ton of screens and there were a lot of screens. Obviously one specifically that went to JSN that was an absolutely monster play.
00:34:14
Tristan Amundson
but What did you think about those and and were those you were noticing more so in this game than other games, kind of that intermediate screen game? Is it just me or did we see a lot more of those this time around than we have?
00:34:26
M dub
I don't know about the quantity but definitely the the quality really popped off. I mean that was the Seahawks biggest play ah offensive play of the day was a screen to JSN where you had You actually had Olu on that play running down field looking looking for blockers and he wasn't looking for people to block and he wasn't finding any. ah He was really cruising along with JSN and and looking for somebody to you know clear out of the way and there just wasn't anybody there. um Yes, and I do think, you know, it's funny you mentioned being close in the run game. There was one run K9 had.
00:35:01
M dub
And I noticed that the Seahawks got some good plays off with Brady Russell injured. They use Jalen sundell who's a backup offensive lineman as like a jumbo tight end on just a handful of plays. And there was one running play where sundell was in kind of he's like a sixth ah offensive lineman but he's lined up in the backfield and canine get he it's a shoestring tackle that this secondary play on the Cardinals just gets his foot. It was a 60 yard touchdown if if he doesn't it ended up being like a 10 yard run but It was a 60-yard touchdown if he doesn't get that hand on that shoe, and then the whole running game math does look really different, yeah.
00:35:38
Tristan Amundson
So I'm glad you mentioned, what was that guy's name that you said was, was doing some blocking sundell.
00:35:45
M dub
Jalen Sundell, yeah. and he was He was on the field for a touchdown last week.
00:35:47
Tristan Amundson
So I noticed him at all back a couple of times. Yeah, I noticed him because I was like, Hey, who's that guy? They put it full back and I didn't have time to dig into it. So that's, that's kind of fun to see. Um, so with a little bit of, uh, um,
00:36:01
Tristan Amundson
a flexibility positionally. Can I give you just, can we do a quick story time with uncle Tristan? Can we go back in the way, and in the way back machine miles?
00:36:09
M dub
Oh i'd I'd love it, I'd love it.
00:36:11
Tristan Amundson
Then, and listen, ah I'll give away the ending of the story. This is all about JSN and what we're seeing right now with him, but, but here's, here's how I see JSN right now.
00:36:25
Tristan Amundson
And for goodness sake, this is terrible radio. I can't even give you the date. I can't tell you when this happens. So anyone who's listening, you're just going to have to remember the dates ah as I go by or as I go through it. Nate Carlson, though, um back in, I should, I should give this a shot. I'm going to guess like back in 2006, 2007, maybe you can look it up for me, Miles, when we signed Nate Carlson.
00:36:52
M dub
Our research department is on it right now.
00:36:54
Tristan Amundson
Okay, great. um When they...
00:36:57
M dub
It was 2006. Great call. Great call.
00:36:59
Tristan Amundson
Oh my goodness. Whoa, look at that steel trap of a brain I have. 2006, we signed Nate Burleson. Nate Burleson was a good and NFL wide receiver.
00:37:10
Tristan Amundson
Me and my friends were excited to see Nate Burleson as a Seahawks. It just didn't work. He, he he was a non-factor as a wide receiver and it was, it was pretty frustrating watching Nate Burleson. We, we felt like we were getting this really great wide receiver and it just didn't, it didn't click and it didn't really make sense that it didn't click because we knew he was good and it seemed like he was doing all the right things and it just didn't work until one day Nate Burleson gets a punt return.
00:37:43
Tristan Amundson
absolutely beautiful. I can picture the juke miles. I can picture it in my head right now. I can see him just juke the pants off of a punter and and a lot of other players and take it to the house. Nate gets into the end zone and he he instantly does some sort of a, I'm going to call it maybe maybe maybe akin to an Atlanta Dirty Bird type dance. he's He's flapping his wings in the end zone. I'm flapping my wings in my living room. And that was the moment that Nate Burleson went from, oh my gosh, this guy's a disappointment, to he was a different wide receiver. And I mean that. he it was And I'm assuming it has to do with confidence. It has to do with being in the flow of a game. Nate Burleson went from,
00:38:35
Tristan Amundson
Oh man, like this guy's not doing anything for anything for us as a wide receiver to being a consistent contributor for the Seahawks for the rest of his time with us. um And what it took was him to, I don't know, get the monkey off of his back. I don't know exactly what you say about it, but he had to contribute in some way. And in his version of it was being the, the returner.
00:38:59
Tristan Amundson
He did kick return and punt return. He had great success in that role, and that led to him getting back to who he really was as a wide receiver. I say that, and I think about JSN last year. He had a good year. like He was fine. He he wasn't the 20th pick in the draft good, but he was a good you know number three wide receiver for us last year. The first few games, you know what first five, six games of this year, you're kind of the same thing. like JSN looks good. He looks fine.
00:39:30
Tristan Amundson
for him to have the breakout performance that he had, uh, was that against the Rams? Was that the big, his big, big game? I believe it was, um, that massive breakout performance.
00:39:38
M dub
Yeah.
00:39:41
Tristan Amundson
And now what three, four weeks in a row, my eyes tell me JSM looks like a different guy and it's not that he's different. He's always been Uber talented and he's always been doing all the right things.
00:39:55
Tristan Amundson
This might be the simplest thing I'll ever say. It's just clicked. Like it, it has clicked with JSN and he's in a different level. Imagine being a defensive coordinator, looking at, listen, we're I guess we're going back to the hotel room here, but looking at JSN and Metcalf and saying, okay, what do I do here? Like, yeah how do we, I don't want to leave either of these guys open. And I only have so many guys I can play with in the backfield.
00:40:25
Tristan Amundson
ah What do your I see, man? Does your watching Jackson play? What do your I see? How is your perspective changing or maybe not changing? I don't know about him over the last couple of weeks.
00:40:37
M dub
Oh, it's it's definitely changed. And for me, it was interesting that area I was focusing so much these his two breakout games on air yards down the field. And it was just that a tremendous amount of yards down the field.
00:40:49
M dub
It actually wasn't in this game very much at all.
00:40:51
Tristan Amundson
Yeah.
00:40:51
M dub
But ah part of that was the the screenplay we talked about, ah you know, that was that was the ah great design play for him to get the ball pretty close to the line to scrimmage. Yeah, I i think he he tea he's a clear wide receiver one on the majority of NFL teams right now. And because we have DK, it's not so clear in Seattle, but yeah, for most teams, he's wide receiver one, absolutely.
00:41:19
Tristan Amundson
And I think that just means we have two wide receiver ones. And obviously Tyler Lockett is the consummate professional and at in the right place at the right time. Tyler actually had a great I mean, he had a couple of catches, but his one catch, I think it was for 18 yards made a ah big difference in this game as well. um It's really fun to watch these guys play. I can't imagine having to pick my poison between the two of them if I'm a D coordinator.
00:41:46
Tristan Amundson
um It's a massive bright spot. And I guess, listen, let's take another step back here. This was not a game where you look at the offense and you think, man, they really had it going.
00:41:59
M dub
They did score 10 points on the offense.
00:41:59
Tristan Amundson
And then you.
00:42:01
Tristan Amundson
Yeah, but then then you look at this ah offense and you see DK Metcalf. That's an A. You see Jackson Smith and Jigba. That's an A. You see um Tyler Lockett.
00:42:12
Tristan Amundson
That is absolutely the player you want kind of in that third down we need to make a conversion type of player. um he's He's the best at that. He's so great. You look at K9, you look at what we're getting from Charbonnet. Listen, Noah Fant. I'm not saying that he's a even a top 10 tight end, but he's a very good receiving tight end. um AJ Barnard is coming around. Gino Oh, it always seems that there's one or two plays that you kind of say Gina what were you thinking but like Gina is a good player when given some time. There is a lot of room for optimism on this, like for this offense like there's you, you pick up your phone you open up the ESPN app and you see that
00:42:57
Tristan Amundson
you know, in any given game that Jackson has 120 yards or that DK has 120 yards and two touchdowns, those aren't surprising stats. You know, we're not asking them to do something they can't do. They all have the capability to do some really big things. So I think there's a lot of room for optimism um for this team.

Tyler Lockett's Career Milestones

00:43:17
Tristan Amundson
Listen, but your point, and it's the killer point,
00:43:22
Tristan Amundson
This doesn't work unless we can block it. Like we can have the prettiest plays in the world, but if we can't block it, it's it's not going to mean a ton.
00:43:30
M dub
Yeah, I feel like I feel like those plays where you wonder what's up with Gino, those tend to come. Those don't come on clean pockets, really. um he He knows what to do in a clean pocket.
00:43:39
Tristan Amundson
Exactly.
00:43:41
M dub
And and it makes sense to ah you see that he leads the league in interceptions. To me, that doesn't feel It doesn't feel like it's actually happening. I guess i made you think of like a league leader at interceptions and you're thinking of like a total disaster. To me, it's like ah so some just bad plays here and there. I'm surprised it's the league lead. And it doesn't concern me going forward.
00:44:06
M dub
um Yeah, it doesn't concern me going forward. Tyler Lockett did have two catches for 20 yards in this game. He also drew a 20-yard pass interference, ah which was a pretty big penalty. so Two catches for 20 yards. It's time for Lock It Watch, where we track Tyler Lockett's progress up the all-time wide receiver career receptions list. He started the year at 92. He entered this game at 76 all-time. With those two catches, he moves up into a tie for 74th place. We do have Adam Phelan back and healthy.
00:44:47
M dub
Lockett surpassed him a few weeks ago. Now we got, we got a real race going up these charts. 75, Tyler Lockett passed another Hall of Famer. His name was Charlie Taylor. He played for the Washington football franchise from 1964 to 1977. That means he was coached by Vince Lombardi in his sixth year. but The one year when Lombardi was in Washington, which tragically ended up being the last year of his life and then the team rebuilt from there. They got to the Super Bowl and they were the team that lost to the 72 Dolphins, that undefeated team in the Super Bowl. Charlie Taylor drafted third overall, starts off as a running back. First two years running back, converted to wide receiver, ends up 75th of all time and in Canton.
00:45:34
M dub
Tyler Lockett has more career catches, and now Tyler Lockett is in a tie with number 74, a wide receiver who played from 96 to 09, and to 2008, a teammate of Nate Burleson, Bobby Ingram.
00:45:53
M dub
Tristan, I'm curious to know your memories of Bobby Ingram. I will say that he set his career highs and catches with 94 catches and yards, 1,147 yards at 34 years old in Seattle.
00:46:06
Tristan Amundson
when i When I think of Bobby, I think of Doug and I think of Tyler. I mean, you have to have these kinds of players on your team, these guys that just are always in the right place, always at the right time, always clutch. The same way that Doug made some just beautiful clutch plays over and over again,
00:46:29
Tristan Amundson
the same way that we see tyler specifically now maybe even more so towards the last six years of his career where it's just i'm gonna i'm gonna be your guy and third down and we're gonna convert it and we're gonna keep this thing moving.
00:46:43
Tristan Amundson
Bobby always had that knack, just a knack for the third down catch. What's funny is all of those guys had big plays. like they They've all produced big plays over the years, but consistent, professional. like that's it's It's a funny thing that I would describe Tyler, Bobby, and Doug the exact same way. Consistent and professional. um It's really fun to hear Bobby Ingram's name again, because I just i haven't heard that name in a long time.
00:47:12
Tristan Amundson
um And ah yeah, a guy that deserves a lot of gratitude and a lot of love from Seahawks Nation because he's he's great. He's a great player.
00:47:22
M dub
Funny enough, Bobby Ingram might be the first person on this list who Mike McDonald knows better than Tyler Lockett. Ingram coached both either wide receivers or tight ends in Baltimore from 2014 arriving the same year as a very young Mike McDonald all the way till 2021. And Bobby is currently in the mix in Washington with our old pals, Dan Quinn, Bobby Wagner, Ken Norton. i'd so It's Seahawks East over there.
00:47:55
Tristan Amundson
I have no doubt. He's great at it. I have no doubt. He's great at that. It's fun. Really fun to see one. Seahawk meet another. Seahawk on this list. Hopefully it's just a quick. Hello. A quick cup of coffee for each other at 74 is, is Tyler continues his journey onward.
00:48:11
M dub
Tyler will continue continue his journey onward. I will let you know we have a very random 12 catch gap up to the next the next man on the list.
00:48:21
Tristan Amundson
It's good to know.
00:48:21
M dub
so ty So Lock It Watch will return when you least expect it, much like Santa Claus, much around the same time as Santa Claus. Most likely, ah there could be a huge day in Tyler's immediate future.
00:48:34
M dub
ah' let I'll leave you with this though. The next man on the list is one of my favorite figures in football history. And it's pretty amazing that that lock it's going to pass in all that. I'm going to leave that tease with you for a month.
00:48:47
Tristan Amundson
That's excellent. Well, and yeah, it seems like Tyler's getting between what three to five, uh, receptions a game. So yeah, I mean, we, we got a couple of games here before we'll probably see lock at watch.
00:48:59
Tristan Amundson
Although you never know, you never know with, with Tyler, he could absolutely go off and and have a, have a six or seven or eight reception game.
00:49:01
M dub
You never know.
00:49:08
Tristan Amundson
And then we're we're right on the doorstep again. So

Preview: Seahawks vs. Jets

00:49:11
Tristan Amundson
that's exciting, man. You know, I love lock at watch. I was looking forward to it this week.
00:49:17
M dub
Tristan, the next game on the Seahawks schedule is one of the most psychologically complex games, I think, that that the team has. I'll be honest, as this year, I mean, there's, there's um so we're going to play a team next week. who We're going to talk about in-depth right now. We return to play Arizona the week after. That's a very difficult game. We know it's going to be another battle.
00:49:47
M dub
like this one. But that's not psychologically complex. That's two division rivals going at it. This game, and it is going to be in New York, I think technically New Jersey, a place they call the Meadowlands. They did call the Meadowlands.
00:50:03
Tristan Amundson
I've seen I've heard there's a beautiful meadow ah full of deer and yeah, just gorgeous.
00:50:09
M dub
I have to say, from the Northwest, I've always been very confused why this ah concrete stack is called the Meadowlands. ah It's a team called the New York Jets and I'll be honest in September and October I would watch the New York Jets games and they would usually lose them. The Jets are have three wins and eight losses on the year and I would go, this is great. I know the Hawks have the Jets on their schedule.
00:50:40
M dub
I'm licking my lips, I'm tucking my bib in, I got my knife and fork, I'm ready to kind of go after a ribeye steak like a cartoon character. And then the losses kept happening.
00:50:53
M dub
some The Seahawks had some weird losses in there too. ah The Giants are 2-9 right now, and we know one of those two is is over the but Seahawks. and um And then Coach Robert Saleh got fired, and then ah and it's it's been wild over there. there were If you were watching articles day by day come out,
00:51:18
M dub
The Jets had their bye week last week and it seemed to be completely up in the air if like, oh Aaron Rodgers could start this game or he could pretty much kind of be retired and we'll kind of bench. He could be on the bench. He could be on the bench. He could be on IR. He could be starting. they They just kind of locked it in earlier today and yesterday that yes, Aaron Rodgers will be playing in this football game. the The layers only start here. I do want to say.
00:51:43
M dub
Tom Brady really really threw things out of whack. Was it 45 his last year playing quarterback?
00:51:50
Tristan Amundson
I believe so. Yeah. Yeah.
00:51:52
M dub
here's the old Here's the breakdown of the oldest quarterbacks in the league. it's Tom Brady was a bigger outlier and even drew breeze than we appreciate. Aaron Rodgers, 41 years old, he's three and eight this year.
00:52:05
M dub
Next oldest person to start a game, Joe Flacco with the Colts. He's one and three. Next oldest person, Andy Dalton with the Panthers. He's one and four. This isn't going very well. Finally, at 36 years old, we have Russell Wilson, Kirk Cousins, and Matthew Stafford. Those guys are all playing, ah you know, playoff caliber ball.
00:52:27
M dub
And believe it or not at 34 years old the seventh oldest quarterback to start a game in the NFL this year is Gino Smith but and of the spectrum so um Tom Brady made it look easy and I think and it and I think this shows it really wasn't easy what Tom Brady was doing even a Hall of Fame caliber player like Aaron Rodgers, you know 41's old for a quarterback. There's only a handful of guys over 36 doing it. though you know That's a lot and it's a long way from 36 to 41. That's on the Jets side of the ball. This also is going to mean a lot on the Seahawks side of the ball. Do you want to hear the... We got some former Jets on this team.
00:53:16
Tristan Amundson
Yeah, yeah, let's go for it.
00:53:18
M dub
OK, so this this will be and I can't I I couldn't believe it. We know that Geno spent a few years holding the clipboard around the league. I just figured there was a time somewhere in there where Geno had to stand on the sidelines. While his team played the Jets and he didn't play in the game. We the Giants, the Jets sta share a stadium, so we know Genos played in that building.
00:53:45
M dub
This will be the very first time that Geno Smith is in the building with the Jets fans after the team ah let him, I have forgot they traded him away and let him go. This is the first time returning in front of Fireman Ed and the rest of the Jets guys. There were there were two contests, both in Seattle, December 2020, Geno's only appearance in the year backing up Russell Wilson. He goes four for five to close out a 40 to three blowout.

That had to feel pretty good, but those were his only five pass attempts on the year. Finally, New Year's Day 2023. Gina leads the team as the starter to a 23 to six win helps the team go from seven and eight to eight and eight and eventually get into the playoffs.
00:54:32

But yeah, he hasn't been in front of the Jets fans since 2016. What a long and winding journey those eight years have been. A journey nobody could have ever predicted, and this will be his first time back in front of those fans.

Emotions Ahead of Jets Game

00:54:47
M dub
ah And Big Cat, also a former Jet, and he went 0 and 2 against the Jets as a giant um over the years. So, that's just... but See, that's our first of the division.
00:55:02
M dub
Definitely haven't run away with it. The opposite of running away with it. This game means so much. It would be so devastating on so many levels to lose this one. it's ah it's ah Yeah, it feels complex to me. that That's what I'll say.
00:55:17
Tristan Amundson
What a cool opportunity for those guys. And I'll say everything we know about Gino tells me, yeah, we want Gino Smith playing in this game with, you know, whatever baggage, however his brain works through going to an ex's house and having to play there and all that stuff. um I think it's I think it's going to be a really, really cool game for him. It seems like games like that. Gino gets even more focused and locked in.
00:55:43
Tristan Amundson
um you know you think about You think about some of the big games that Gino's played against, or in scenarios where the adversity is a little higher. So I think you'll be locked in. um But you're right, it's a massive game for us, man. I mean, you win this game against the Jets, you put yourself in a good position to to play the Cardinals again, um and and you suddenly churn the season you know right around. so um it You know, listen, the emotional you you talk about emotion. The emotional roller coaster of of the NFL season is just hilarious. that you know You start 3-0, you lose a bunch of games, yeah you lose the Rams, you ah we lost to San Francisco, you're feeling terrible.
00:56:27
Tristan Amundson
How are we going to turn this thing around? you know is this going to be Are we going to be picking high in the draft? And then suddenly you get two divisional wins, 49ers and Cardinals. and yo know oh but The sun's shining again, right? so the The emotion will just keep going. Listen, it was my favorite thing Pete used to always say.
00:56:46
Tristan Amundson
It ain't going to be easy. It ain't going to be easy. So come on, let's go. Let's let's make it happen. So we just got to we got to toughen up. We got to listen to listen to Pete's voice. Pete's telling us this ain't going to be easy. Got got to get tough. So, you know, we'll we'll listen to the old coach. He he knew what he was talking about. It's a tough league.
00:57:04
M dub
It's a tough late. My hope for the hot. I mean, I would just imagine anybody else in that building. Gino is a true professional as a quarterback. I mean, I've heard this guy talking interviews about how he has really taken up chess on a serious level just to keep the mind agile and nimble like that. The the man takes his job seriously. He has incredible professionalism as a quarterback.
00:57:28
M dub
I don't think he needs to say anything and I don't think anything needs to be said. I really hope and imagine and believe that there would just be a feeling around the team. We, we have to give this one for Gito. Like we just have to, I would just imagine everything's a little sharper, you know, and, and the, the jets offense can, we just, we just shut down a much more.
00:57:52
M dub
an offense that was rolling in the Cardinals. And the Jets offense has been the opposite of rolling. So you would imagine that they're, yeah, yeah. Does that make sense? like I'm but hoping it's a big week around the, I feel like it would be a sharp week around the building, especially with the playoffs getting nearer that like, I just imagine the team's really locked in this week.
00:58:14
Tristan Amundson
I think so. Yeah, I think they really are in a good spot. we Listen, win or lose, we don't know what's going to happen, but I do think the team is trending in the right direction, um specifically from a from a focus. I think they really are focusing well um and they're putting this stuff together. so It's going to be fun. I'm sure Fireman Ed is going to be um gracious and loving and um introspective. ah if you know If I think through what super fans like that bring to the table, thoughtful is a word that comes to mind when I think of Fireman Ed. So I think it's going to be a really neat game for all of them. um I assume he's going to bring a couple of New York street dogs um for Geno so he can enjoy that. Maybe a couple of slices of pizza.
00:59:01
Tristan Amundson
um Let's get a win, man. Let's get a win in the Meadowlands. Let's pick some flowers. I can't think of any other funny things to say.
00:59:08
M dub
Let's stop on this meadow. Let's stop on this meadow.
00:59:10
Tristan Amundson
Let's just stop. yeah let's let's
00:59:11
M dub
Find the meadow. some Is there a meadow anymore? what's What's going on over there? Show me the meadow. Hey, if this if the broadcast can show Pike Place Market every time a game is in Seattle, I think we could show the meadow once, you know, when the game is in the Jets giant stadium.
00:59:28
Tristan Amundson
Here's hoping, here's hoping. We'll both be watching for the meadow. um I'm excited, man. they're They're doing well. I think that's all I got. Do you got anything else, Miles?
00:59:40
M dub
I had one last thing I was thinking of, which I was i was thinking this week, go Hawks.
00:59:42
Tristan Amundson
What's that?
00:59:46
Tristan Amundson
Go Hawks.
