Astrology and Full Moon Transition

00:00:48
Speaker
Yesterday at work, um I was talking with one of my coworkers and something he said, because he was like he had mentioned something about, um like he was like, have you seen the new Deadpool and Wolverine movie? And I was like, no. And I was like, did you watch it this week? And he's like, I'm watching it right now. And I was like, brother.
00:01:07
Speaker
That is illegal. I was like, okay, look at you. Are you an Aquarius? And he was like, yeah, actually I am.
00:01:19
Speaker
I mean, it's not just that he gives off Aquarius energy anyway, but I was just like, okay. And he was like, that is actually a little bit terrifying. um I'm a firm believer that you are a witch. How the fuck did you know when my birthday was?
00:01:33
Speaker
I feel like I have my way. And so he's like, tell me more about myself. And I'm like, yeah. But yeah, he was completely like, like just completely blown away by the fact that I called him and I was like, are you an Aquarius? Yeah, that's hilarious. So yeah.
00:01:54
Speaker
Apparently I have a magical ability to... And you're obviously a witch. And obviously a witch. So yeah, you any of y'all want me to guess your astrola- astrola- astrolalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalal
00:02:15
Speaker
oh my gosh but we're not talking about astrology no we sure aren't what are we talking about We're talking about the full fucking moon, baby.

Full Moon Timeliness and Research

00:02:27
Speaker
I'm so excited. And it's a full moon, which is? When this episode releases, because we are geniuses. Not really. We actually play a different episode for this week, but then we moved it around because we realized the full fucking moon is going to happen when this episode drops ah for everyone. That shows how much we love you all. Exactly.
00:02:52
Speaker
And Supercast subscribers, you get it a week early, so you have a week to prepare, okay? Yeah, yeah. But for everyone else, yeah we literally researched a different episode and then killed ourselves to get this research done. Yes, within 12 hours so that you could have it. And that's including us sleeping as well, so. Yeah, because I took a nap. but And Sam went to bed. And we went to bed. Yeah.
00:03:21
Speaker
Yeah. And now it's super late for you and very early for me. It's 11.40 PM. Ew. But I took a nap so I'm okay. Yeah. And side note, just as a disclaimer, my washing machine, you know, washing machine time isn't real time. So it's running right now. So you might hear it. And the washing machine already takes like three hours over here for a load of laundry.

Full Moon and Lunar Eclipses Explained

00:03:45
Speaker
So three hours, I guess is really like four hours.
00:03:48
Speaker
or five hours, however long. Because I came down and I was like, this thing's been going forever. And it was like only an hour off the time. I was like, what? Yeah. So so if you hear that, my bad. I live in a dungeon for my office. but yeah And my washing machine is right outside. and and So just to kick this off with a little bit of background,
00:04:12
Speaker
This phase of the moon cycle allows us to see the full moon illuminated. At this point in time, both the sun and the moon are in opposition, which means that they are the farthest apart that they can be in the sky, and that they're on opposite sides of the earth, so meaning that the earth sits directly between them.
00:04:30
Speaker
This is also the only time that we can experience a lunar eclipse. This happens when the moon's position lines up just right with both the sun and the earth from our ah viewpoint. And this puts the moon within the earth's shadow, cutting off some or even all of the sunlight reflecting off the moon's surface.

Blue Moons and Naming Conventions

00:04:50
Speaker
As we've already mentioned in part one, the lunar month lasts 29.5 days, which is obviously shorter than our calendar months.
00:04:58
Speaker
meaning that every two to three years that we'll get like 13 full moons instead of our once a month 12 full moons. And when this happens, the 13th full moon is known as the blue moon. And from like what I was able to gather It was just kind of named this way at random because it doesn't happen every year in a specific cycle of the seasons um to have like a correlating name for its cycle. And we're going to get into like the names and the correlations later on in the episode. And something else that I found interesting is that it's not common in Australia and New Zealand to have names for the different full moons. Back to the blue moon thing like real quick. I'm pretty sure we had one of those
00:05:44
Speaker
like a couple months ago. Um, I can't remember which month it was, but we had two full moons and it was recent. It was very recent and it was a blue moon and it was because we had two moons. It might've been May or was it June? Last blue moon. Uh, no, then it says the next.
00:06:05
Speaker
The next blue moon takes place on the 19th of August, 2024. The last blue moon took place on August 31st, 2023. We had two full moons recently. I swear to God we did unless I've jumped on limes because What? I don't know. That's what Google says. And then there's the whole, which I don't know if you saw that in my notes, September's moon sometimes overlaps with October's. And if it does, it's the harvest. Yes. Okay. Yeah. Well, I mean, I guess we're getting bloomin' soon. I don't know. We're getting a bloomin' soon.

Symbolism and Rituals of the Full Moon

00:06:45
Speaker
so As it's the full moon, it's the peak of the lunar cycle, and this creates a heightened energy that can influence emotions, intuition, and spiritual connections. so um Just some basic symbolism related to the full moon, it's known as the apex, summit, and culmination point of our physical and emotional cycles. It correlates with midsummer and litha, um because you know during this time,
00:07:10
Speaker
of Midsummer and Lithod, this is the highest point of the year, the time when you have the maximum amount of light on Earth, um and that kind of syncs back up with the full moon illuminating things, um intuition. And another symbol associated with the full moon is intuition. And through inner reflection and enhancement of psychic abilities, people will use the full moon's energy to kind of connect deeper with their own intuition.
00:07:41
Speaker
It's also connected to feminine energy. So the full moon symbolizes feminine energy in the mother archetype and it's associated with the divine feminine in many different cultures. The energy is all about being sensual, abundant, full of fertility. And I saw this and I thought I would just briefly throw it in here. You know, I know we touched, um, or we talked about, ah we talked a lot about the waxing crescent on last week's episode. Um,
00:08:07
Speaker
but the waxing crescent, as related to feminine energy, is associated with the maiden, the full moon, the mother, and the waning crescent is associated with the crone, which is something I know that I believe we've mentioned before on the podcast, but I just wanted to throw that back out there um to remind everybody and remind myself, because I completely forgot about that until I was researching. I think we did mention it in the triple goddess episode. Yes, I think you're right. I think so.
00:08:37
Speaker
And another symbol um associated with the full moon is the symbolism of illumination as the full moon illuminates the earth and the physical world after dark. The energy of the full moon makes us more aware of our own blind spots and unconscious pieces of ourselves that we need to work on. And, you know, the full moon itself and, you know, just as part of this whole background and symbolism is a time of celebration.
00:09:06
Speaker
celebrating what you've manifested, the intentions you sow during the new moon, and work toward during the waxing cycles of the moon. um This is just kind of like a culmination point to be grateful in everything. so So moving into lore, myths, and legends.

Full Moon Lore and Human Behavior

00:09:24
Speaker
The lore surrounding the full moon is fucking extensive. There was so much Which is nice because, you know, last week's episode I could find, like, next to nothing for the waxing crescent, but for the full moon, there was so much. So, um, we're just gonna kind of be giving you a little bit because
00:09:51
Speaker
It was too much to cover all of it. And I will say, like I'm going to be starting off with like some of the like lore and myths from like the Americas, but most of those I felt like going through them were very common to the whole like everybody. like Everybody kind of believes these things. So the first one um I feel like is one of the most common and widely known is that the idea that the moon, especially the full moon, affects human behavior. And you'll often hear people say to be careful when it's a full moon out because the idea is that that this phase of the moon makes people act like wild and crazy. And it's also tied to the idea that the full moon can affect a person's mental health overall.
00:10:42
Speaker
And what I found most interesting about this is that there is obviously like some correlation to this because you'll see both an increase in crime like crime rates and a spike in hospital admissions and yeah ER visits on nights that the moon is full.
00:10:59
Speaker
And the term lunatic stems from the belief that the moon has an influence over a person's mental health. But a common theme in scientific research done on a lot of these myths and claims is that there's a lot of inconsistencies that make a definitive link impossible to establish with concrete evidence in the realm of like science in general.
00:11:23
Speaker
There's also a myth that the full moon causes sleep disturbances, as there's been a lot of correlation to many people reporting sleeping poorly during a full moon. um And this was tied to like North America specifically. Apparently this is something that comes up.
00:11:40
Speaker
quite a bit, so I found that interesting. But there was a study published in 2013 in Current Biology that suggests a link between the lunar cycle and sleep quality. However, it seems that like further large-scale studies published in 2019 couldn't really find a like a consistent um link to support the claim.
00:12:02
Speaker
Many cultures associate the full moon with bad luck or even just negative events while others feel that it's a symbol of good luck. These are both thought to be beliefs rooted in ancient folklore and some of these myths are that it's unlucky to have a full moon on a Sunday. It's lucky to hold a moonstone in your mouth at the full moon as it will reveal the future.
00:12:25
Speaker
It's lucky to have a full moon on moon day or Monday. And an honorable mention because it was too funny not to include, and like I just found it hilarious, according to the farmer's almanac, in terms of lucky rabbit's feet, a rabbit's foot is considered especially lucky if the rabbit was killed in a cemetery by a cross-eyed person in the dark of the moon. It wasn't like someone who was like,
00:12:55
Speaker
always cross-eyed or can you just make yourself, you know how you can kind of go cross-eyed? I don't know. Maybe it's like a little bit extra. If if you're not like permanently cross-eyed you get a little boost. Like fall into a well. Yeah.
00:13:13
Speaker
And then you can fly a donkey to then uncross our eyes. Yeah, I was cracking up because I was like, could you imagine all the stars that would have to align for this one thing, like this one event to happen just for you to get a lucky rabbits, but that's super lucky. like Yeah, it's crazy. Yeah.
00:13:33
Speaker
um Some Native American legends believe that the moon is a hostage and they believe that it's captured each night by a hostile tribe and that there's this like pair of antelope that's entrusted with rescuing the moon and bringing it back to a good tribe. And the legend states that there's this like coyote basically that swoops in and gets to the moon first and he tosses it into the river. So think of the moon like setting over the water.
00:14:02
Speaker
Which I love that, right? I was like, aw, that's cute. Lore that ties the werewolf to the full moon is believed to originate in European lore. And it stems from the idea that the werewolf embodies the dual nature of humanity and that the full moon serves as the catalyst for the werewolf's metamorphosis. It's considered a monthly reminder of the delicate balance between humanity and our primal beastly nature. And lastly for me,
00:14:32
Speaker
A general piece of lore that I found really interesting is that in primitive hunting cultures, the moon is frequently regarded as male. And in regards to women specifically, it was thought to be a preeminently evil or dangerous figure. And when it comes to agricultural traditions, the moon is usually regarded as female and as a benevolent ruler of the cyclical vegetative process. Hmm, interesting.
00:15:02
Speaker
Yeah. So when I was trying to do my research on lore related to the full moon in Eastern cultures, I had the opposite problem that you did. Oh no. Because I had a hard time finding shit. And I don't know if maybe I was looking at the wrong things. Like, I don't know what the fuck. But I had a really good idea. When I was doing my notes, there was so much. I was like, man, Sam's probably going to have a bunch too. So let me just kind of cherry pick a few because I didn't want to have too much. I'm like, here's pages and pages and pages.
00:15:32
Speaker
Yeah, it was difficult, difficult, lumen difficult. But one thing I did find, um I was fucking bamboozled last week doing my research because if you remember, I referenced this Japanese festival or this, this, um I'm sorry, festival, but this Japanese um the fuck is the word I'm trying to say. Like a practice. Practice. Yeah. Called sukumi, which is looking at the moon. Like that's what it's translated as. The research I did last week was talking about how this is done in a new moon. That is fucking wrong.
00:16:12
Speaker
um So sorry about that, guys. um It is not linked to a new moon festival. It is, after more research, linked to a fucking harvest festival ah related to the harvest moon, a.k.a. the full fucking moon that occurs in either September or October. um So, yeah, I was a little bit annoyed about that when yeah I realized that was completely bamboozled.
00:16:38
Speaker
um The rabbit moon though is something that is common in Japanese lore and I love this.

Cultural Celebrations of the Full Moon

00:16:45
Speaker
So this is a belief that the craters in the moon resemble a rabbit pounding mochi with a mallet. And I think that is so cute. When I was a child and I still point this out every time I see like this portion of the moon, my grandpa used to tell me it was the Energizer bunny and that's why we would charge our moon water under it.
00:17:05
Speaker
Because it looks like a rabbit with a drum or something. So he was like, it's the Energizer bunny from like the Energizer commercials. And that's how we charge our moonwater. There you go. I've been looking at this bunny since I was like five. Yeah. And in Japanese lore, it's the same thing. Look at that. It's Beautiful.
00:17:26
Speaker
Um, in Korea, there is a festival called the great moon festival. And it in Korean, I'm going to butcher it, but it is young wall de borium. I believe, um, I tried to find correct pronunciation. I could not find a pronunciation for the jungle wall part, but I did find pronunciation for the de borium part. Um, so hopefully I said that right.
00:17:52
Speaker
um But this festival is traced back to the Three Kingdoms period and is celebrated on the 15th day of the lunar year. This usually takes place in February, but it just depends on like the the lunar cycle. and Traditionally, it's celebrated with bonfires, which are set to burn once the moon rises. and like While the moon rises and they're burning the bonfires, they'll like start stomping their feet and stuff to um like scare away any evil spirits and bring back luck and abundance. And I just really love that little ritual. I thought it was cute. And then more, it's, you know, it's more to it than just these basics, but um they also have a lot of food that they eat during this festival. and And so they eat like five grain rice, assorted nuts, a wine that I could not find the the pronunciation for, but it's translated into like ear clearing wine and rice cakes.
00:18:49
Speaker
um Well, there's more to the festival, but these are just some of the the basics. And then i was I found a little bit ah about um in Sri Lankan culture, their full moon is called Poya, and each moon has its own name and dedicated holiday. um And so they have from 12 or 13, depending um every year. I thought that was really cool as well. That's cute. Yeah. All right. So now we're going to talk about every moon.
00:19:19
Speaker
every you're welcome buckle your seat belt ah So the January full moon is traditionally known as the wolf moon or the cold moon. And this is tied to the time of year typically being the dead of winter where you would be more likely to hear the howling of hungry wolves.
00:19:41
Speaker
Its name is believed to have come from a Celtic or Old English origin, and it was thought to have been brought um to North America by European settlers. Some other names that this moon is known by are the Stay Home Moon, the Quiet Moon, Moon After Yule,
00:19:59
Speaker
the severe moon and the center moon. And during this moon phase, the nights are long and dark and most of the world is dealing with colder weather. Magical workings for this moon would be to focus on developing your inner self, connecting with your deities and focusing your energy on self discovery and awareness. The Astro twins, who I have referenced many times on this podcast, they write some really great um witchy articles.
00:20:29
Speaker
and they are linked in our show notes, but they suggest using the wolf moon as a time to hang out with your own wolf pack. So like to spend time with the ones that you love, which I thought was adorable. So February's moon is called the snow moon and this moon gets its name because of the heavy snowfall that is usually seen in the northern hemisphere during this month. And this moon highlights the scarcity of resources.
00:20:55
Speaker
It's also known as the bare moon, which marks the time where bear cubs are born, and also known as the storm moon, ice moon, snow moon, and quickening moon. And the quickening moon related to the bone chilling cold that is usually observed during this time and the fact that new life and conception are right on the horizon. Because as we know during this time, we have this realization that spring is coming. And so rituals during this time should focus on new beginnings and plans for the future.

Full Moon Rituals: Themes and Practices

00:21:26
Speaker
ah March's full moon is often referred to as the worm moon or the storm moon, and it is the last full moon of the winter season. The worm moon is thought to come from the fact that earthworms start to come out of the soil as it begins to warm up, while the storm moon is set in the fact that March's weather is unpredictable and that it ranges from sunshine to snow on like a day-to-day basis.
00:21:53
Speaker
Some other names that March's moon is known by are the Crow Moon, the Snow Crust Moon, the Sap Moon, Sugar Moon, Lantern Moon, Wind Moon, Plow Moon, Death Moon, and the Chaste Moon, which this last one refers to the purity of the spring season apparently.
00:22:13
Speaker
And for this moon, you should focus your practice in celebrating balance, rebirth, and renewal. And the Astro tin twins suggest using the final full moon of winter as a time to decide what you want to leave behind as you prepare for spring. So April's moon is known as the pink moon, and this moon is named after the pink flocks wildflowers that bloom in North America during early spring. It's also known as the egg moon, the budding moon, the new shoots moon, growing moon, the awakening moon, the breaking ice moon, the moon of the red grass appearing, the seed moon, and the wind moon. And there's probably even more, like that's just a lot of fucking names. This is the month of upcoming rebirth. And again, right on the horizon, like we're just now seeing those buds and blossoms. So this is a time to really take a look at what you're seeing pop up around you. And during this time, ritual should focus on making things happen. So after you've decided what you wanted to leave behind last month, start figuring out how you're going to make some shit happen. Yes. May's full moon is most often referred to as the flower moon.
00:23:30
Speaker
Its name is thought to come from the fact that this is the time that all the flowers start to bloom as spring is bringing everything back to life. This is the time of fertility, passion, and lust, and a time to sow what you're hoping to reap later in the year. Some other names that this moon is known by are the budding moon, egg laying Did you hear Nix? I didn't. She was like, my and she's like scratching her ear. and but She's like, that feels so damn good.
00:24:02
Speaker
yeah ah Mams, you have to be quiet if you're gonna be in here. um Some other names that this moon is known as are the budding moon, the egg laying moon, the planting moon, milk moon, mother's moon, bright moon, harem moon, and grass moon. For this moon you should focus, oh my god, go!
00:24:27
Speaker
oh ah
00:24:31
Speaker
For this moon you should focus on magic that is related to careers and jobs and this is a good time to both like enter or change your career field too if you've been thinking about doing that. You should also use this moon as a time to expand your horizons and you could also incorporate flowers and flower essences into your rituals for the flower moon because it's a flower moon. Yeah of course you have to.
00:25:01
Speaker
June is known as the strawberry moon um and this is named for the red berries that ripen during this time. It's also known as the berry's ripened moon because of course, the green corn moon, which um immediately, hello Pocahontas, what are you doing here? The hot moon, the mead moon, the horse moon, the Diane moon, the rose moon, the flower moon, the planting moon, and the strong sun moon. And this is a time where the days are long, the nights are short and warm.
00:25:33
Speaker
and Rituals should focus on maintaining and enhancing what you already have, allowing those things to blossom. Aw, blossom all the things. Yeah. July's full moon is most commonly known as the buck moon or the blessing moon. Its name is believed to signify the new antlers that emerge on deer bucks around this time. Some other names that this moon is known by are the salmon moon, the raspberry moon, thunder moon, claiming moon, weird moon,
00:26:07
Speaker
um herb moon, meadow moon, and hay moon. This moon is the perfect time to work on divinations, dream work, and meditation and it's also a good time to count your blessings like quote unquote while focusing on what you can do to bring more into your life and you should use this time to harness the energy of growth and strength during this moon. August is also known as the sturgeon moon and this is named after the large number of lake sturgeons and the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain. This fish was super important to the Native American tribes living in and around that area, so that's how it got its name as a sturgeon moon. um Also known as the dispute moon, the lynx moon, the grain moon, the lightning moon, and the corn moon. And it corresponds with lunasod, so this moon is associated with the grain harvest, and this is a time to focus on the harvest itself
00:27:06
Speaker
and to begin to start storing things for winter. September's full moon is most commonly referred to as the corn moon. um This name dates back to some of the original Native American tribes, as this was the time of year that they would harvest corn. Some other names that this moon is known by are the harvest moon. And we're going to talk a little bit more about that in a second. and The wine moon, the song moon, and the barley moon.
00:27:36
Speaker
and circling back to the harvest moon, this moon can happen in either September or October, but it's the name given to the full moon that falls closest to the autumn equinox, like September 22nd-ish. And this is the only full moon name that is determined by the equinox rather than the month. So most of the time it will fall in September, but I was reading that approximately every three years, the harvest moon will fall in October.
00:28:06
Speaker
um This moon is the perfect time to celebrate hearth and home, make some comfort food, and to like really start prepping your harvest for the winter. And um this full moon is perfect to celebrate agricultural fertility and feminine energy on the corn and or the harvest moon. October is known as the Hunter's moon. Traditionally, this time of year was spent preparing for winter,
00:28:35
Speaker
Still, ah you know as we've been doing the last few months, and during this time, hunting and preserving meats took precedence. So every three years, this moon is also known as the harvest moon, like Tiffany just said. But it's also known as the drying rice moon, falling leaves moon, freezing moon, seed fall moon, pagan blood moon, and the same green moon. This moon comes right before Samhain and reminds us that winter is coming. I should have said that in a British accent.
00:29:06
Speaker
Whatever. ah The nights are continuously getting colder and darker, and the veil between the worlds is thin. And this is the perfect full moon to focus on divination, communication with departed ancestors, and psychic messages. November's full moon is known as the beaver moon or the morning moon, and not the morning like the sun is rising morning, but like morning loss.
00:29:33
Speaker
The beaver moon is said to come from the fact that this is the time of the year that you'll see beavers preparing for the winter. um Some other names that this moon is known as are the frost moon, the freezing moon, and the darkest depths moon.
00:29:50
Speaker
with the passing of Samhain November is the start of the new year. So you should use this time to focus on shedding bad habits and toxic relationships. And the beaver moon is the perfect time to get in touch with your senses and ground yourself in nature. Reading about some of these moons and like just what you see during this time really makes me like myself like as we're going through this kind of mourn the fact that we don't get winter here. I just want to see my my my breath fog up and it be cold. It's fine.
00:30:33
Speaker
um December is known as the cold moon, and it's also known as the moon before yule, the long night moon, the oak moon, and the full cold moon. This is a perfect moon for reflection and spiritual alchemy, so taking this time to evaluate your life, understand that while the dark times are naturally occurring and they are upon us, they will soon pass, um and it will so restart that cycle all over again.

Harnessing Full Moon Energy and Cautions

00:31:01
Speaker
So let's talk about harnessing the full moon's energy. As I mentioned last week, a lot of this is going to be similar throughout the entire series with just slight variations. So just keep that in mind. It's a good idea to really like set your goals and intentions on the new moon and then really just build up from there. um So some things you can do, you can meditate. Full moon meditations help you to tap into the moon's energy and harness its power.
00:31:31
Speaker
Use your meditation time to really set up your mindset and align yourself with what your intentions are and meditate outdoors under the moon or at the very least, like near a window where you can see the moon. Um, it's a time that you should let go of what's no longer serving you. The full moon is the perfect time for this. You can do this by like writing down a list of everything that you want to release from your life and then reading them out loud with that intention.
00:32:00
Speaker
This is the perfect time also like just to kind of link into that to make sure that you're doing your shadow work. like Everybody's always, I feel like they get it wrong sometimes with the full moon and they're like, oh yeah, the full moon, like I'm going to manifest everything. And it's like, no, this isn't really the time for that. And I know you're going to get into that a little bit later on things not to do with the full moon, yeah but like doing shadow work is absolutely something that you should be doing during the full moon and making sure that you're keeping up with it. Because as we know, like you can't have the light without the dark. You need to also
00:32:32
Speaker
do your shadow work. If your practice is synced along with the moon cycles and you can use the full moon as a way to just always remind you to sit down with your journal like you were saying and do some shadow work.
00:32:45
Speaker
um Another thing that you can do to harness the full moon's energy is moonlight scrying. And so this kind of goes along with like meditation outdoors and meditation um under the full moon, but this is a form of divination under the full moon. And it offers us a way to harness the full moon's creative energy to enhance our intuition and our psychic abilities.
00:33:06
Speaker
So it said that scrying during this time will help us connect to our subconscious and to the spiritual realms. So an easy way to do this is to just find a quiet outdoor space with a clear view of the moon. and Bring with you a reflective surface like a mirror or a bowl of water and set it up in a space where you're able to see the moon's reflection in the mirror or the body of water.
00:33:29
Speaker
You're gonna wanna relax your mind, send the power, get into that meditative state, whatever you need to do to get into that state of higher consciousness and power, and allow your thoughts to flow freely. And with this, like once that's happening, notice any symbols and intuitive feelings that come up. It might be a good idea to bring a journal with you to write down any messages that may feel significant to you in that moment, um but it's a very easy thing that you can do And you really don't need anything besides yourself. And if you don't have a mirror, like a glass of water or a bottle of water or not bottle, but a bowl of water or something. Yeah. You could also use like reflective stones. Like I've seen, I've seen in like other research that we've done using like, um, black stones that are like polished because they have a reflective surface. Yeah, that would be amazing too. And then you can, it's like charging your stone as well. So good, good idea.
00:34:27
Speaker
um Another thing that you can do is a full moon ritual bath. And as the moon affects water and as we were made up of a lot of fucking water, it's only natural that a full moon bath would be a perfect way to work with the full moon.
00:34:40
Speaker
Yeah, I was reading that it's believed that the full moon's light can rejuvenate your psyche. So you should take some time to connect with the moon's energy and then soak in a bath. And then, of course, incorporate herbs that correspond to healing. Add some like bath salt and surround your bath with like crystals and candles. And just focus on releasing negativity and what no longer serves you while drawing in all the healing elements.
00:35:06
Speaker
Yeah. And you know, we had a whole episode in back in season one, it was episode 12 about bath and shower magic. So check that out for more detailed step-by-step guide on ritual bathing and how to actually do it. But for the purposes of the full moon, some of the herbs that you can use in a ritual bath are bergamot, clary sage, gardenia, jasmine, juniper, lavender, lemon balm, mugwort,
00:35:33
Speaker
unless you're allergic to it like I am. I'm so sad for you. Alright, peppermint, poppy, rose, rosemary or sandalwood. And then lastly, you could do something called moonbathing, not to be confused with a ritual bath. This is not bathing in a tub of water, okay? So just throwing that out there. I didn't research the same thing twice, I promise. ah Full moon bathing involves laying down outside, whether you're naked or not. um If you are doing it naked, please make sure that you are not in
00:36:07
Speaker
a space where like children can't observe you. um You know what I mean? so um And you want to do this under the full moon for a few hours. So this is kind of like charging your own moon water, like the moon water the water that's inside of you. So you're charging yourself. It can help you spiritually connect with the moon.
00:36:26
Speaker
helps to aid in relaxation, emotional regulation, peace, balance, improved sleep. All of those things are linked with moonbathing, which I thought was really cool. Which is very similar to sunbathing, but it involves the moon instead.
00:36:42
Speaker
yeah um And then some things to not do on a full moon. Do not use the full moon as a time to start something new. This should be done on the new moon. Do not overwork and or overstress. The full moon is meant to be a time of celebration, but because of the energy that the full moon like gives off, it's really easy to overdo things like stress, work, and worry.
00:37:11
Speaker
And don't make life changing decisions during the full moon. Emotions are typically heightened during this phase, and it can prompt those like knee jerk reactions that you don't really want. So keep yourself grounded and avoid making sudden decisions during a full moon. Yes, all good things. Yes. Yes. So and you know, if you're cross eyed and in a cemetery under the dark of the moon, maybe take out a rabbit if you want our lucky rabbits, but Yeah, and just be like, I'm sorry, bro. I really need your foot. I really need that, but chop, chop. There you go.
00:37:49
Speaker
But that's the full moon. That was the funniest thing. That was really funny. Yeah, but yeah, that's our full moon. The precious, precious moon. Yeah, and let us know, like we say this all the time, and I'm gonna need y'all to actually tell us and what you guys do to celebrate the full moon because I'm interested. I know Tiffany's interested. We yeah love to learn from you. We love to hear from you. So let us know how you celebrate the full moon.
