Introduction and Welcome

00:00:09
officialgspn
Hey, hey, everyone. Welcome back to Daily Walls for another episode. And it's the final episode before the opening game of the weekend. And with me, as always, is my good buddy, Will. Hey, Will.
00:00:20
Will
Hello, hello, how are we?
00:00:22
officialgspn
I'm good, thank you. And I'm Chris, because I didn't say that, because I just assume everyone knows who I am.
00:00:26
Will
I was going to say, they they know by now, they know.
00:00:29
officialgspn
Yep, they know, they know.

Excitement for the Upcoming Season

00:00:31
officialgspn
um But yeah, are you feeling excited for the opening day of the season? Will, I'm i'm getting a little bit hyped.
00:00:37
Will
Yeah, I am, especially after recording the crossover episode with the guys over at Arsenal Daily, who I managed to somehow convince without even trying that we were gonna nick up one of the results.
00:00:55
Will
And they were they were feeling very confident at the start of the episode. So I managed to sway it out, which is, yeah, it's it's sold it for me. um you know We're gonna get off to a flyer.
00:01:04
officialgspn
Yeah, i'm I'm proud of you.
00:01:06
Will
Yeah, thank
00:01:06
officialgspn
I'm

Crossover Episodes and Banter Plans

00:01:07
officialgspn
proud of you. I listen to it because I've been away on holiday in Wales this week with the family enjoying the summer holidays. um So Will ventured out on his own into the Arsenal dugout and oh my word, that's a risky place to be.
00:01:07
Will
you.
00:01:19
Will
Yeah.
00:01:21
officialgspn
But say but you you came out in one piece and yeah, you did sway them quite well. I was very proud.
00:01:25
Will
Yeah, I don't know how. I didn't necessarily mean to, but you know, it it worked. So, so they're nervous. They're nervous.
00:01:33
officialgspn
which is which is good. And yeah, if you haven't checked that out yet, go back to yesterday's and you can listen to the crossover episode. The aim is to do a weekly crossover with the opposition each and every week from the GSPN network so we can get a bit of the banter going and and see what the opposition thinks each and every time.
00:01:51
officialgspn
And obviously sway them, as Will did so well, into believing that we can be victorious, even when we may be feeling a little bit more scared.
00:01:53
Will
Yes.
00:01:57
Will
Nah.
00:01:59
officialgspn
Nah. All righty, so

Konye's Injury and Game Readiness

00:02:03
officialgspn
big news. Well, I'll say big news. Let's just run through ah the like some of the updates, shall we, before we kick into the weekend's fixture. ah Lost the word there for a moment, but it caught me, went back into my brain eventually. and We know that Konye has been struggling in preseason with his hamstring, missed a few of the preseason games, and for a while it looked like he wouldn't even be in the squad for this weekend, but he is back in training
00:02:30
officialgspn
and the rumours are that he will be at least in the squad this weekend. Do you think he's going to start Will or how are you feeling about Kunia?
00:02:39
Will
um I don't know if it's worth the risk in starting him. um Obviously the backroom staff will we will know if it is or if it isn't, or at least you'd like to think so. um Again, as I said with the arsenal lots, I don't want to repeat too much, and but I think if he's an option to bring off the bench, in the sort of if the game unfolds in the way in which we seem to think it did in our last episode,
00:03:07
Will
um then yeah, I'd say give him half an hour and see see how he gets on.
00:03:17
officialgspn
I personally think he may be on the bench at the start given that he's missed the last three preseason games or so. He's back in contact training but yeah I just feel a way to Arsenal on the opening day and they had I think hopefully Gary O'Neill's maybe going to be a bit cautious after, you know, Neto got injured again.
00:03:37
officialgspn
Was it away at Newcastle last season when he he thought he was fit and then got told he was fit and then he played him anyway. Anyway, I just think maybe he won't risk him from the start.
00:03:47
Will
Yeah, I don't think it's worth it.
00:03:49
officialgspn
Bubakar Traore is back with the group, having been away on national duty most of the summer. um So he's going to be a bit behind the times in terms of tactics and updates, but he's more of a squad player at this point anyway, but it's nice to have an extra body back.
00:04:03
Will
Yeah, of course.
00:04:06
officialgspn
And ah we discussed last episode some of the transfer rumors going around at the moment the latest on Fabio who we whether you love him or loathe him we know he's on the way out.

Transfer Market Activities and Speculations

00:04:21
officialgspn
There has been a bid rejected from Genoa Fabio was alone with an option to buy and that has been rejected so obviously not quite meeting wolves hopes. Rumors going around that obviously they want they're happy to do a alone if it's got an obligation to buy because they they just want it confirmed that he's going.
00:04:42
Will
Yeah, I've also seen, obviously, as you said, Genoa are one of the teams inest interested. Real Betis Verde Bremen have also sort of ah apparently made him a priority signing, which you'd like to think would lead to, a you know, a permanent um confirmation of his departure as opposed to Genoa's option to buy.
00:05:09
officialgspn
Yeah. And I think, cause he did well a couple of seasons ago, um, on loan on the continent. And I feel like that's maybe where he's going. He is going to find a home in, in one of those, how do I put it?
00:05:17
Will
Yeah. Yeah.
00:05:22
officialgspn
Yeah. Con continental leagues that aren't maybe quite to the premier league standard.
00:05:26
Will
yeah let Lesser leagues. I'll say it. ah I'll say it.
00:05:29
officialgspn
You said it. I'm so, I'm so polite. I am typically.
00:05:31
Will
No, I'm going to put myself on the line. I'll say it. I have no shame in that.
00:05:35
officialgspn
Okay, I'm quintessentially British, Will. I try and be uber polite. I'm one of those people. I've been learning to queue since I was about three.
00:05:43
Will
Yeah.
00:05:44
officialgspn
That's where I'm at. So, you know, I can't i can't help it. I'm one of those people.
00:05:48
Will
Yeah, but as you said, I think that was why, I mean, I mentioned in our first episode together that when he came back from that, those loan spells are under left and PSV, I really wanted him to come back and and succeed and it wasn't necessarily, you know, it wasn't stupid of me to think that that was a possibility. You know, of the sort of, I think you've got 20 odd goals um across those two teams in all competitions for that season, which, you know, that's really not, not bad going. So as you said, it seems like one of those leagues is going to find it, find a permanent home.
00:06:26
officialgspn
Yeah, i had I had a soft spot for him too. The dream was there. And when they gave him the number nine shirt, you know, and it just, it was that you just wanted it, you know, I defy, I know that some people just didn't think he was good for a long, long time, but surely you you've got to dream, right?
00:06:32
Will
Wow.
00:06:43
officialgspn
That's what football's all about. And there was a moment where you just wanted it to work for him. I, I, I'm not, you know, I'm not, I'm, I want to support people and I really wanted it to happen, but yeah, it's,
00:06:47
Will
yeah that that's what i was going to say though you know anyone who puts on the old culture you've got to want them to to do the best for them and for us
00:07:05
officialgspn
Yeah, exactly. Alrighty, so with that being said, just more transfer talk going on at the moment. We know that wolves obviously want to strengthen, Gary and Neil definitely wants to strengthen the squad. Later streamers are that ah bid has been made to Joanne, for Joanne Wisser of Brentford, apparently around the mark of 25 million, including add-ons. Will, thoughts?
00:07:33
Will
I think that's really good. I think I saw a few people complaining about it saying, you know, he's not the level of netto. Well no, realistically he's not going to be easy, it's that simple. and Unless we were to sign um a young kid, you know, a Rodrigo Gomez perhaps who could potentially reach those heights. We're not going to be able to to sort of get someone of the same quality. But when you look at it on paper and who O'Neill wants, he wants that Premier League experience. And Wis has got that for a good few seasons now. And I think, I can't remember the specific numbers, but he had a sort of goal contribution, you know, a goal or an assist. Every two games for Brentford last year,
00:08:27
Will
um so you'd like to think that he could get even more than that for wolves in this current front line that we have um so I think it'd be a great move personally but what I would say is I wouldn't I wouldn't be held ransom for him you know I wouldn't go anywhere above the 30 million mark I think that would be getting a bit excessive
00:08:51
officialgspn
Yeah, no, agreed.
00:08:51
Will
um But it's what he's worth to Brentford. I know that they don't think they have the greatest amount of squad depth, so I can understand them trying to hold out for quite a high fee.
00:09:08
officialgspn
Yeah, no, I agree with that i that. I wouldn't like to go any higher than that really, but you never know, we'll see. you But that is the room we're going around. I personally feel that I think the shopping list at the moment should definitely be, obviously they're looking at Neto replacements. I don't know if the replacement's the right word, but just another winger option. And then centre back clearly is again, premiership premiership experience is needed there just because it is a very raw back line at the moment. and That's my personal opinion that that that's where the covers needed and I would like to see maybe one more
00:09:44
officialgspn
backup for Strand Larsson, because if anything happens to him, then Hwang can do the job up front.
00:09:47
Will
Yeah.
00:09:51
officialgspn
We've seen him do it. And and ku you cant like we've seen, obviously, there's a lot of attacking players there that can do either a nine or a false nine position in this formation, but

Challenges of the Season Opening

00:10:01
officialgspn
you'd still like I would personally still like to see another proper center forward as a backup.
00:10:03
Will
Yeah, yeah, 100%. I think Whistle would be another one who, again, could do that um job if he if he had to and could be successful there. But like you said, you want you want an out and out number nine there.
00:10:19
officialgspn
Yeah, yeah, I'm glad you agree. Well, I'm glad we're on the same page. It's almost like we're in sync. and Just to remind everyone as well that this podcast is part of the Global Sports Podcast Network, the only network bringing you exclusive daily news and views on your Premier League team, the Premier League, women's football and fantasy football, a unique listening experience that puts fans first.

I can't get enough of that Will, it excites me every time I say it. um So other quick drop of info is obviously they have drawn the teams for the Carabao Cup.
00:11:06
officialgspn
And we have been delighted by drawing Burnley at home in the second round. How are you feeling about that one, Will?
00:11:14
Will
I mean, it's it's possibly the most Cabavale Cup second round tie I could think of. I mean, I mean that with all respect, ah but it's, ah you know, you'd like to think we'll win it, but I dare say it might not be a game to fight over about, you know?
00:11:31
officialgspn
No, no, it does feel like the, again, I'm sorry, Burnley fans, but it does feel like the least dynamic or exciting tie we could possibly draw. Um, but also potentially, you know, uh, is it fair to say banana skin?
00:11:41
Will
Yeah.
00:11:47
officialgspn
It just feels like one of those games where Burnley, I feel like we're not going to raise our game for it.
00:11:53
Will
no but and i know this sounds quite bad obviously you always want to win but as much as no one's going to admit it i think our focus is going to be you know much more on the Premier League itself Um, you know, it's, it's one of those, isn't it?
00:12:09
officialgspn
Yep.
00:12:12
Will
The Cabobal Cup, everyone seems to, no one takes it seriously until you beat one or two sort of championship teams and start to progress through the rounds.
00:12:23
Will
And then, you know, then it's essentially the Champions League, the further you get in the, in the running for it. But as you said, yeah, it's, it's one of them.
00:12:33
officialgspn
Yeah, and and you know, I'm a middle-aged man now. I lose track of the sponsorships. For me, it's not the Carabao Cup, it's probably the Carlin Cup or just the League Cup because it like I can't, I lose track and Carabao, it just doesn't just doesn't ring for me in the same way for some reason.
00:12:39
Will
I was gonna say car Carlin Cup, yeah, yeah.
00:12:49
Will
No.
00:12:49
officialgspn
I have no idea why.
00:12:51
Will
No, I agree. I think that the nostalgia might be getting the best better of us there, but yeah.
00:12:57
officialgspn
Yeah.
00:12:58
Will
To be fair, it probably has, alongside the FA Cup, which I do have more of a sentimental value towards, probably has lost a bit of. credits, I suppose, which isn't necessarily a good thing with, you know, just the sheer amount of money that's in the Premier League itself now.
00:13:15
officialgspn
Yeah. Yep. And okay. So that being said, though, well, really all of our focus, it's as we speak, it's Friday, the 16th of August. It is the day before the first game of our new Premier League season. Obviously it kicks off tonight with teams we don't really care about. We don't have to talk about that one. um But tomorrow we are away to Arsenal. And by the way, is it just me or does it feel like ever since we've been back in the Premier League, which I know is a while now, but ah we always start against one of the big teams. It feels like it was Liverpool have been about four of them.
00:13:51
Will
No, it for me, it's ah it was always Leicester. It was always Leicester away or something like that. I don't know why. That might not even be correct, but that's what I think of.
00:14:03
Will
But we always tend to finish, I would say, against the big teams. Like I said, Liverpool was one of them. I think we've had them away. We had Arsenal away, I think it was season before last.
00:14:17
officialgspn
Yeah, I do feel like we, we just have this theme and obviously the first few games of the season, it's going to be a tough run in a tough start.
00:14:17
Will
Yeah.
00:14:26
officialgspn
And hopefully, you know, if the results don't go away, people don't get despondent because after that thing should get easier. And I think we'll get a better idea of where the team is at. But anyway.
00:14:36
Will
yeah well i i also think sorry to interrupt but um you know our our squads know when they're finished yet so i really that's why on the arsenal episode crossover episode i i sort of said it was something of a free hit in terms of the wall squad that you will see this Saturday is going to look completely different to the one halfway through the season towards the end of the season in terms of not just the personnel but you'd like to think you know um how O'Neill gets them playing as well you know the more time is given.
00:15:16
officialgspn
Yeah, and it will be interesting to see if he holds this strategy with this new back line, the the four at the back idea. I know that we spoke the other day about the fact it's not just as a straight back four, it transitions depending on in and out of play. But if the first few results, you know, if they go a while without picking up any points, will he revert to more of a but solid back five at some point like he did last season? Because ah he tried to start last season, if you remember with Like manu the opening Man U game, it was basically a back four in my mind. i'm Correct me if I'm wrong. And then after a couple of few results didn't go the way, he realised that he didn't have the squad to do what he wanted to do, and it shifted to the the five that has been kind of at bread and butter since we were promoted again. And it'll be interesting to see if he holds strong this time, if you know if things start to not go well.
00:16:06
Will
Yeah. um No, to be fair, you just mentioned the menu away. The only thing that sticks out in my memory of that game is the assault on Sasha Kaleidich that was never given us a penalty.
00:16:23
officialgspn
No, I mean, we could go on about that all day, but they it was actually, despite the fact we didn't score, we looked so dangerous.
00:16:23
Will
Yeah. Yeah.
00:16:29
officialgspn
I mean, that even now, I think back to that game, it was a tremendous game for even just the bystander.
00:16:29
Will
Hmm. Hmm.
00:16:35
officialgspn
I think the innocent bystander all enjoyed that, that as a match, um, because, and Konya that day was on fire.
00:16:39
Will
yeah yeah yeah yeah
00:16:42
officialgspn
I know he didn't, again, he didn't score, but some of the runs from deep just running past everyone. And that is why he's so dynamic, which is why I'm looking forward to him having a nine ahead of him. so that he can drop deeper and then connect the play.
00:16:53
Will
yeah
00:16:55
officialgspn
Anyway, my thoughts were were to ask you, ah because I'm curious, what you think ah your so what's your starting lineup for tomorrow? What do you think we're going to see?
00:17:07
Will
um I don't think there'll be any surprises. I won't run through it all because I think it sort of picks itself, you know.
00:17:15
officialgspn
OK, does it? Does it?
00:17:16
Will
I think so in terms of it looks like you he's going to go with the Totti-Moscara partnership.
00:17:27
officialgspn
question then, Sumeido is suspended for the first three games of this season from the end of last season.
00:17:27
Will
um
00:17:32
Will
Yeah.
00:17:35
officialgspn
Will the right back or right wing back, over whatever formation we see, is it going to be Pedro Lima making his debut or is it going to be Mac Doherty?
00:17:47
officialgspn
Because I know my answer to that question.
00:17:49
Will
yeah it's going to be dirty um yeah it's that simple we've spoken before about how O'Neill likes dirty and like you said it he'll do a job i think he'll do he'll be a consistent job and could potentially be a threat going forwards but i don't think i think you know if you were to ask um
00:17:51
officialgspn
Yep.
00:18:15
Will
Landro Trossard, who's potentially starting left wing for for Arsenal, if he would rather come up against Doty or Samedo. I put this, I think he'll be happy that Samedo is suspended.
00:18:26
officialgspn
Oh yeah, totally. But I feel like as well, to be fair to Gary O'Neill and the team as a whole, Pedro Lima, very young first season coming into a different nation as well, you know, a completely different environment.
00:18:35
Will
Hmm.
00:18:42
officialgspn
I know we have seen a fair amount of him, of him in preseason. And I feel like we might see him, he might come off the bench later in the game, but I think Gary O'Neill would be wary of throwing him into Highbury away on the first day of a new season.
00:18:48
Will
Yeah, yeah.
00:18:57
officialgspn
You know, I like just, especially when you've already got Gomez and Mascara potentially as your centre backs, I feel like he's just going to want the experience, as you mentioned the day of Dottie being there, because there's very little experience in the back line otherwise.
00:19:03
Will
Yeah. Yeah.
00:19:11
Will
Which reminds me of something, ah another transfer rumour. We've been linked with a young French defender. I think he's only 18 or 19. Bastien Mrepio. I apologise if I butchered the pronunciation. and But it's another one of those, even if we got him, that that wouldn't be the centre back signing ticked off. There'd still need to be another Premier League experienced one.
00:19:39
officialgspn
Yeah, yeah. Well, I think, and I will run through a little bit because we, I think obviously Saar and then I think, yeah, eight Nori we'll see, and then Mascara and Totti, and then we mentioned Totti, I think we'll see him.
00:19:50
Will
and Yeah.
00:19:54
officialgspn
Midfield, Lemina is possibly carrying a little bit of an injury from the last preseason game. I believe I read that. So, the
00:20:01
Will
Yeah.
00:20:02
officialgspn
yeah Obviously, ideally we'd see Gomez and Lamina, but there's a chance it might not be Lamina.
00:20:09
Will
I think it will be, I hope it will be, but I think it will be because I was at the game, Rael Valacharno, and he seems to be holding his hamstring, but not only did he play on for a good sort of 10 minutes after he first initially gestured that it was causing him some trouble, he walked off and the picture Yes, he went straight down the tunnel, but it's what you'd expect of a, you know, precautionary substitution. So I'm hoping that him coming off in that game sort of saved him four for tomorrow.
00:20:45
officialgspn
Yeah, yeah, no, that's fair. And I wonder though, because if if Kunya doesn't start, then ahead of Gomez and Lamina, how is that front section going to look? Because obviously we've seen Sarabia a lot on the right actually in preseason. Kunya would have been in like that 10-roll potentially with then Larsen and Gomez potentially on the left, because we've seen a lot of Rodrigo Gomez.
00:21:12
Will
Yeah.
00:21:13
officialgspn
but who if Kunya's not there, how is that gonna switch up?
00:21:16
Will
Um, I think if... kua's not there I see I would have put a 4-4-2 with Sarabia on the right of midfield and Gomez on the left and like I said have Cunha and Larsen up front but I think yeah if he's not there it would be a 4-3-3 and Sarabia would move into the middle in that number 10, sort of false 9 position with Huang having to play um further out wide um her la and as a lone striker.
00:21:51
officialgspn
Yeah, I think we'll definitely see. I mean, Huang is a, whatever people think of Huang, I love him, particularly just cause you know, he is going to work to his upmost. I mean, that's why man I think managers love him because you know what you're going to get. He's just going to run and run and run no matter what. And so I think we'll definitely see him in, and then yeah, it could potentially be Sarabia in the 10 role instead with
00:22:14
Will
yeah Yeah.
00:22:15
officialgspn
Huang and Gomez on the wings, and then Strandalastin obviously up front. And fingers crossed we see a first goal for Lassen, because that would be a dream. That would be the dream.
00:22:26
Will
Yeah, can I give a potentially unpopular opinion?
00:22:30
officialgspn
Okay.
00:22:31
Will
Because I know it's extremely early days, but I'm not personally sold on Larson just yet.
00:22:38
officialgspn
Mm-hmm.
00:22:40
Will
I mean, I have to watch him in pre-season, he seems to have I mean, decent ability and hold at play, but ever since Raoul has left us, you know, for the past sort of three seasons, we've we've been after a 20 goal a season striker. I just, I can't see him being the answer. I really hope I'm wrong. I really hope I'm wrong, but yeah.
00:23:12
officialgspn
Well, I hope you're wrong too, Will, because we you know we need it to work. And it will be a hell of a story if you know he gets a score on his opening day, because supposedly he is a slow starter.
00:23:17
Will
Yes.
00:23:25
officialgspn
um Speaking of which, though, if you do have a story to tell that the world needs to hear, have you struggled with reaching new audiences who are engaged with your story?
00:23:36

So let's hope he has a story to tell after this. Well, he can then maybe start his own podcast or actually no, better yet, come on as a guest and tell us the story of his opening goal.
00:24:19
Will
Look, I hope he comes on as a guest and to tell me how long I was. I hope that's the case.
00:24:25
officialgspn
We'll make that a mission, shall we? So by the end of the season, by the end of the season. Okay. ah Let's stick with this because you repeat my curiosity. How many goals do you think Larson will get us this season?
00:24:37
Will
a Family goals.
00:24:39
officialgspn
but let's go Premier League goals. Do you think he's gonna make double digits? Let's start there.
00:24:45
Will
Yeah, I was going to say about 10 or 11.
00:24:48
officialgspn
Okay, 10 or 11.
00:24:49
Will
Like, like good, good, not, you know, but not Raul.
00:24:49
officialgspn
I'll get that. Yeah.
00:24:56
officialgspn
No, but you know, yeah, you're talking peak row.
00:24:59
Will
But that's what I want. That's what we need.
00:25:02
officialgspn
And it is good, but whoever comes in, it's going to be very hard to get that unless they're already Premier League experienced and he's coming in again from a different nation.
00:25:04
Will
Yeah.
00:25:13
officialgspn
So I

Game Predictions and Scorelines

00:25:14
officialgspn
think double hitting double digits, I think would be fair in ah in his first season.
00:25:20
Will
But can i can I just ask, how much did we pay for him? I can't remember off the top of my head.
00:25:25
officialgspn
now you're asking me now you're asking me i want to say oh it's alone actually it's not finalized is it yet it's alone but there's an obligation i think dependent on the amount of fixtures um
00:25:29
Will
Yeah, yeah, but there's ah there's an obligation, isn't there, to...
00:25:36
Will
Right.
00:25:37
officialgspn
And I believe it's in like the 20 plus million marks, but I'm gonna say like, I'm going to say 25 millionish and someone is probably gonna write in and tweet me and go, Chris, you're wrong.
00:25:49
officialgspn
And i'm I don't waste time staring at my screen.
00:25:49
Will
Yeah.
00:25:51
Will
no but it's no it's probably it's probably about right then i suppose like i said it's with the same the whistle deal i think that is just the going rate of a sort of you know um decent attacker in this day and age yeah
00:25:52
officialgspn
I just look at Will's beautiful face while we speak. And the rest of it just comes from my memory.
00:26:12
officialgspn
But we we can verify that for the next episode. and then And then I can apologize to everyone if I'm horribly wrong, but it's definitely alone at least with with the ah ah by clauses in there.
00:26:23
officialgspn
So some of it, I'm just, some of it's right.
00:26:23
Will
Yeah.
00:26:27
officialgspn
all Alrighty. um Result. I know, I know you spoke yesterday on the crossover podcast, but for anyone who's got a short term memory or, well, cause you know, as Ted Lasso says, we want to be a goldfish anyway.
00:26:40
officialgspn
Now, well What do you think the result is going to be tomorrow, Will?
00:26:45
Will
Well, if you'll allow me the same as the Arsenal guys did to give my two options as potential results.
00:26:52
officialgspn
Oh, here he goes.
00:26:56
Will
On the one hand, I can see it being a very open game. Like I said, it's the first game of the season. We've got young you know attackers and um quite a few players making their debuts who who could make a name for themselves.
00:27:11
Will
and you know anything can happen we don't know we don't have much to go off apart from the sort of mixed fee season um so I can see it being quite a high scoring game in that respect I think it's either that or we nickel a 1-0 point I can see you know the likes of Odegard, keeping the ball, playing pretty little flick passes and this that and the other but essentially you know when push comes to shove not being clinical enough with it whereas I think you give Quang half a yard of space in and around the penalty area and
00:27:50
Will
he's got more than enough quality to to to finish and we have a few players like that i hope blarson it is the same um so i can see it unfolding like that i look i said i hope i no i don't but i hope i hope there's a difference there
00:28:02
officialgspn
You say you're hopeless and we've all heard, we heard you just a minute ago. You you don't believe it. You don't believe it.
00:28:13
officialgspn
Um, I am going to, I'm going to tell him that you hate him. Um, I think, yeah, I'm going to be hopeful. I'm going to be optimistic. I'm not going to say a win as much as a like one, but I'm going to say something like a two, two draw.
00:28:28
Will
Hmm, I can see that.
00:28:28
officialgspn
Because I can see goals in the game. I can't see as keeping Arsenal out for 90 minutes, given just the way they've been the last couple of years, especially at Highbury. Um, it's not, is it still called Highbury?
00:28:40
Will
No, I was going to pick you up on that before. It's the end of it, isn't it?
00:28:43
officialgspn
It's the

Old School Habits and Season Outlook

00:28:44
officialgspn
Emirates. See, I'm old school.
00:28:44
Will
Yeah. No, I let it slide.
00:28:45
officialgspn
It's...
00:28:46
Will
I like it.
00:28:47
officialgspn
Oh, thanks. Oh, well. I'm sorry, peeps. It's just because I'm old. um in my In my brain, that's where they play. and But yeah, I can see is I could see something like a 2-2 because I think this wall's team has goals in it.
00:29:00
officialgspn
We saw last season, we scored more goals than we have done in a long, long time. And I feel like Gary O'Neill is just wants more of that. He wants them to be front foot and attacking. And i think you can I think you can get at this Arsenal team, you know, no matter what.
00:29:14
Will
Mmm. Yeah.
00:29:17
officialgspn
So I think there's goals in the game. So I'm going to go 2-2 and hope for an exciting opening day.
00:29:20
Will
Yeah.
00:29:22
officialgspn
At the very least, give us some excitement. Give us something to dream about.
00:29:25
Will
Yeah. A Larson winner. Yeah. Yeah.
00:29:29
officialgspn
Alassen winner. Yeah, that would be fantastic. That'd be fantastic. Alrighty. We will see who's right, who's wrong, and and if we're crying in misery at the end of the weekend, if it's all fallen apart, and all our talk about mascara goes out the windows, we wonder why and ever why ever I said he was going to be good. and Any parting words before we go into the weekend?
00:29:51
Will
ah no Not really as I said, I just personally see it as something of a free year in terms of no matter what the result is, I don't think Wolves fans should read too much into it at this stage. you know and We'd like to see a bit more transfer activity and alongside that O'Neal pushing through his new plans that he's worked on in pre-season.

Weekend Reflections and Season Anticipation

00:30:21
Will
So yeah, I just i just wouldn't read too much into it either way.
00:30:25
officialgspn
Cool. Yeah. I, I just hope. Yeah. I hope my Sunday is a good one because if sat, you know what you know what I mean? Cause the Saturday result does impact how the rest of your weekend goes.
00:30:35
Will
Hmm.
00:30:37
officialgspn
And no matter what people think, uh, it shouldn't get you down, but it can do.
00:30:37
Will
Yeah.
00:30:41
officialgspn
So I'm just hoping for, even if it doesn't, the results doesn't go away that the, you know, the, the gameplay, the excitement and the some, it gives us something to hope for going into the next game.
00:30:50
Will
Yeah. Yeah.
00:30:52
officialgspn
Anyway, that's my that's my sentiments over. It's been fantastic catching up with you, Will, and everyone else, having returned from holidays back into the daily grind now, people, as ah as we increase approach the season. We'll be back after the weekend to look back at the game, and and then we'll move on to the week ahead. It's going to be nonstop as we go further into the season here at Daily Wolves, and we look forward to connecting with you over the coming weeks. Have a great weekend, everyone.
