Introduction: Hosts and Podcast Overview

00:00:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hello and welcome to GSPN Daily Wolves. That's right, it's me introducing us this time. I'm your host, Will. And of course, I'm joined by the Andre to my Xao Gomez, Chris. Chris, hello, how are we?
00:00:23
Chris
Hey, hey everyone. I'm good, thanks. Well, I'm good. I'm surviving the Easter holidays. Big up to all the parents out there struggling through.

Recent Positivity for Wolves

00:00:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I mean, you know, you say surviving. um I'd like to think that, um like most Wolves fans now, we're we're we're riding ah one big sort of wave of positivity.
00:00:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
At the time of recording, this is obviously in between um the United win away on the weekend with that lovely Sarabia free kick. And we're looking forward to Leicester at home this Saturday.
00:01:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
It feels like i've we've not had a Saturday three o'clock home kickoff in a while. i don't know if that's just unless I'm forgetting one. um But I don't know if they feel like a rarity right now.
00:01:10
Chris
Yeah.
00:01:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
But, you know, I'm looking forward to it either way.
00:01:15
Chris
They are,

The Impact of TV Scheduling on Fans

00:01:16
Chris
they are. The sad thing is I've met some people in recent weeks who like traveled over booked, booked to go to, you know, games that were originally Saturday and then they get moved to TV.
00:01:27
Chris
And I've met people who visited from other countries to come to those games and then they've shifted and they weren't able to rearrange their schedules.
00:01:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:01:33
Chris
So they, they then don't get to go to the game. Ironically, the power of TV.
00:01:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, yeah, yeah. See, at the start of the season, if you told me that, I would have said that it's probably doing them a favour.
00:01:44
Chris
Yeah.
00:01:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
But um yeah, not so much now, not so much.

Analysis of Wolves' Performance Against United

00:01:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
But yeah, so Chris, have you managed to um have another look at the United games and since we last spoke? I know... um We recorded obviously straight afterwards on the Sunday. So, you know, the emotions were raw.
00:02:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
um It you know, a bit more reactive. have you Have you had any more things to look at and take away from the game?
00:02:10
Chris
um ah Everyone knows I'm a glutton for punishment, so I do tend to watch all the games back, you know, like a day or two later. Obviously, it's it's always more fun with the wins when you want to revel in the the joy of it all, but sometimes I'll even, off I'll just watch all them back with, you know, just to just to like study.
00:02:28
Chris
And I was just reminded how much it's not a classic. Like it's definitely definitely not one to live in the memory.
00:02:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:02:36
Chris
um There was big periods of the game where it did, I've seen, I've heard and see a few people over the last few days say it felt bit like, you know, an exhibition or an end of season game where both sides were kind of like not at their best.
00:02:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:02:50
Chris
However, i still think, um as you mentioned, we were we did kind of grind them down. We're a little bit solid more solid defensively now. The biggest notes really are that I think we missed Belagard.
00:03:03
Chris
ah ah Weirdly as it sounds, having the first half of the season not realised the potential in him. He's been such a revelation under Vitor Pereira that I think we mentioned that the decision to start Kunia was taken really out of Vitor's hands with Belagard being injured.
00:03:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:03:20
Chris
But I think because of the way Kunja plays, he doesn't get ah about as much as Balagard does in

Player Performances and Statistics

00:03:29
Chris
terms of... I mean, there's a stat going around.
00:03:30
Chris
I've just seen of the Day post and other things saying he's one of the the players that the top five players that spent the most time walking this season.
00:03:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm.
00:03:38
Chris
And Kunja is at number one, which it's just tells you what we all kind of know, that when he's not on it, especially if the if it's not in his zone or if he's not interested, he's just kind of strolling around.
00:03:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:03:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:03:48
Chris
And Belagard doesn't do that. Even if he's not on the ball, he's going to give you a loss. And I feel like that, that without, I feel like that made a massive difference in our overall performance. So that game, and that's not, I don't mean to keep burying the hatchet on Cuny, but I just think looking back at it, looking back at the game now, that for me made a massive difference in how that frontline particularly performed in it, because obviously then Larson is not, there's not as many people driving forward to Larson in it because Cuny just wanders around more deep.
00:04:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:04:16
Chris
And, uh, On top of that, though, Toti Gomez had an outstanding game. um i think United could well have had a goal or two if we hadn't been on it.
00:04:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:04:26
Chris
Agbedou as always is immense, but even he had one one dip that day when he when he got beaten and Toti just covered the ground so well to make up the distance. And his his his saving tackle is as good as a goal.
00:04:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:04:39
Chris
i mean, it's It's fantastic. So Totti did well. I thought Bueno, Santiago Bueno, you know, he's been back to the bench for a few weeks and the trio Doc, Totti and Agbedu is working a dream.
00:04:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:04:52
Chris
But with Doc being injured and everyone now knowing they're under Vittor, you feel like everyone knows their roles. They know even if they're not in the squad, everything is drummed in.
00:04:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:05:01
Chris
of This is our formation. This is what we do. And this is where you're going to be and what you do all times. So even though Bueno just comes back in after a few weeks out in the cold, he had a great game. I thought Santiago Bueno was pretty solid. And I mean, he's got Garnaccio trying to push past him a few times. But he he stood stood his ground and i was I was happy for

Wolves' Tactical Approach Under Vitor Pereira

00:05:20
Chris
him. So I think he did well.
00:05:22
Chris
Bentley didn't have a lot to do but got his first Premier League win, I believe it was, and performed pretty well, considering he had to come in at the last second.
00:05:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:05:30
Chris
and So, yeah, um a lot to write home about, but I think it was, it was an overall, it was a bit of a stagnant game. But I do feel that we missed Belagard, and I never would have imagined saying that.
00:05:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:05:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, I mean, it's certainly funny how times change. I remember ranting to you. I think it was an episode with me, you and Nathan. And I was getting very passionate about never wanting to see Belgaard ever again.
00:05:53
Chris
Mm-hmm.
00:05:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
And, you know, I'm happily proved wrong on that. But it's interesting you mentioned... um beegar you picked him out because I was watching the sort of, can't remember for the life of me, the name of the YouTube account that it is, but they analyze all football teams and, you know, do various videos like that. And they took a specific look at Wolves under Vito Pereira.
00:06:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
And Belgaard was one of the players they singled out as well as Manetzi. And how has completely changed our front line, you know, playing with those two,
00:06:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
not necessarily out wide, but just either the side of Strand Larsson, and how it's not just the wing-backs, but obviously with that formation, with the five two three or however you want to look at it, um with with that going from attack to defence, sorry, defence to attack, well, I suppose either way, um how each time...
00:06:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
Not only do you have those two guys supporting Strand in the middle, but it seems to be... not completely random mix of players, but there's always that energy from, no matter if you're Andre or Jao Gomez in the middle, or Semedo and Aitnuri out wide, sometimes even Dock pushing up, there's always that energy to get forwards and back.
00:07:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
And that's something, I mean, you spoke there about the Cunha walking sort of stat. That just shows that the buy-in that the players have.
00:07:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
um for for Pereira and his tactics and you know ah that pays off that in itself pays off because even in a stagnant game as you said where nothing really looked like happening it's those efforts and that sort of mindset full stop that sometimes you know it gives you the rub of the green and you end up coming away with the three points like we did um from Old Trafford um but yeah
00:07:56
Chris
Yeah, I've seen a few of those videos pop up. Obviously, now that we're on this run of form, people who don't necessarily watch Wolves as much are starting to chime in with their two cents worth and take notes.
00:08:07
Chris
But there's some of them, though, you can tell they don't necessarily watch them in depth because there's a few that have said we're this like super counterattacking team and we're not. I don't think we are under Vittel.
00:08:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, no.
00:08:17
Chris
That was what Nuno did and he's doing it at Forest.
00:08:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yes.
00:08:19
Chris
like The mega, just we're going to sit back. It doesn't matter if we hold don't have the ball and then we're going to counter you. But under Vittel, we sit much higher up. We're just all about pressing them and making it uncomfortable and winning the ball further up the pitch and then making it uncomfortable to the point that eventually people are in those advanced positions to then
00:08:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yep.
00:08:38
Chris
be aggressive and pounce and and make opportunities happen. And I feel like, yeah, we're not, I just watched some of those videos. I'm like, you haven't watched, you haven't watched what you're talking about.
00:08:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, yeah. It's funny you mention that because I was thinking that in the video I was watching until they made, Chris, that exact point and that exact comp comparison, um saying not only is it different to how Nuno was with us, but it's different to what we're seeing with Forrest, who are the counter-attacking team in the league. Definitely the best counter-attacking team. Yeah.
00:09:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
Although, having said that, you know, it's not it's not that sitting deep and then breaking. It's a constant ah constant energy throughout the middle.

Fabio Silva's Performance and Transfer Speculations

00:09:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
I do believe in that in that video I saw that I think we might top for, or in the top sort of,
00:09:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
five at least for goals from counter-attacks in the league and pretty much all of those ah have come since O'Neill departed earlier in the season.
00:09:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
um But speaking of goals, Chris, speaking of goals, I think you know where I'm going with this because I'm feeling a bit Mediterranean, a bit European today and want to about La Liga.
00:09:44
Chris
hu
00:09:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
mediterranean a bit of it european
00:09:54
Chris
ah you
00:09:55
Chris
Are you feeling like you need a new hairdo? Is that what you're feeling like?
00:09:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
today and i want to talk about the league
00:10:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
Oh, I would love curly hair.
00:10:02
Chris
Grow us out.
00:10:03
Chris
Grow us out. Because, mean, whenre we're beating around the bush here.
00:10:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
I would love curly hair, yeah.
00:10:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Yeah,
00:10:10
Chris
Literally.
00:10:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah, yeah.
00:10:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:10:12
Chris
Fabio Silva, our beloved Fabio Silva out there on the continent, living his best life away from walls, which is where he always seems to live his best life, to be honest with us. um But he's but just been named Liga Under-23 Player of the Month for April.
00:10:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:10:26
Chris
It's actually the second time this season he's won the award. And in this month, he scored twice and got an assist in three games. So, I mean, you know, pretty good.
00:10:37
Chris
Pretty good.
00:10:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
Look, yeah, he's not doing badly. And they're not they're not a fantastic side either, asked Palmas. I've seen and ah seen quite a few of his goals. And I remember I couldn't tell you which goal it was all against you.
00:10:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
The first thing I've noticed it is that... All of his goals that I've seen come up have been good. like good not i'm not saying I'm not saying, you know, um sort of, no, I'm not saying that.
00:10:58
Chris
Yeah.
00:11:00
Chris
Bring him back.
00:11:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
I'm also not saying that they've been sort of absolute worldies, but they've just been good strikers' goals um one way or another, you know, all different kinds of in-the-box, edge-of-the-box headers, whatever.
00:11:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yes,
00:11:15
Chris
He always felt a bit of a fox in the box, you know?
00:11:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
yes yeah, yeah.
00:11:19
Chris
Whether or not he finished is another question, but he did he does have a kind of, even when he was like missing a load of chances, he was always getting on into positions that were dangerous.
00:11:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:11:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yes, he's always there. um The commentator in one of the goals that I saw um said that he'd put Las Palmas on his back again. which is you know i mean That's two player of the month now. Well, I suppose a young player of the month.
00:11:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
um A fair few goals and assists. It's no wonder that quite a few other La Liga clubs and clubs from across the continent are... um interested in him so um again i think i do think though chris in terms of his departure i think it's a whole wild card episode in itself if we start looking at our potential transfers at this stage so before we get to that and before we discuss um any other players in any other sort of depth let's just take a quick message from one of our sponsors
00:12:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
So Chris, Chris, speaking of what is right for us, and I know, know you know, as much as you don't want to, I don't want to make this the Cunha show.
00:12:57
Chris
Mm-hmm.
00:13:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
um But you mentioned to me just prior to the recording that you'd seen, um was it a post from the BBC? talking about our stats with or without him in the squad. I mean, of obviously everyone knows he's been out for the majority of the time that we've been on this run.

Debate on Kunia's Impact and Potential Transfer

00:13:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
um But yeah, so just where do you sit on the debate of, you know, us with or without him?
00:13:36
Chris
Yeah, it's been a big discussion point recently. and I felt, to be honest, I felt even when he got the initial red card or and ban that he was going to be, i think I said at the time it was a silver lining because it gave the opportunity for the team to work as a team because we need to get ready for life without him.
00:13:55
Chris
And it's been vindicated because we've gone on this winning streak. And to be honest, even before then, he's missed games with previous fans and things. and And a lot of our points this season have actually come Without Cunha in the side, despite his goals, I mean, you know, you can't knock the fact that he has, what is it, 16 goals, four assists.
00:14:16
Chris
So he's he's done work, but a lot of the points have actually come he's not in the side. So there's an ongoing debate of, like, actually, are we... And even Alan Shearer, I think, said it on last match today, that we look a better side without him in the squad.
00:14:29
Chris
We all know he's probably going to go in the summer.
00:14:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:14:32
Chris
There's a release clause of, like, 62.5 million.
00:14:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:14:35
Chris
Obviously, we kind of wish it would be more. And I've seen a discussion since from Leanne Keane about the fact that there is possibilities it could be more because it really depends on how the ah other team wants to pay because there's stipulations on how that is paid out. And if someone wanted to pay it long over a longer term or short term, then they would have to discuss different fees.
00:14:54
Chris
However, um to put it in perspective as well, the stats on how we are with and without Kunya,
00:15:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:15:02
Chris
In the last two years, basically, we have a much higher win percentage with without Kunja than with. So without him, our win percentage is 61.5%.
00:15:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm-hmm.
00:15:14
Chris
That's 13 games. And the win percentage 61.5%. Over the 62 games with him, the win percentage is 29%. Points per game, 1.1 with, 1.7 with. ah with the sixty two games with him the wimper percentage is twenty nine percent points per game one point one we one point seven without And most concerning as well is average goals against with Kunya 1.9, without Kunya 1.2.
00:15:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:15:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Yeah.
00:15:42
Chris
Because we just mentioned his walking stats. Several coaches have spoken about him not necessarily always being as good off the ball.
00:15:54
Chris
When we speak about the walking and stuff, it's the defensive side of things. Even if you're forward player nowadays in the modern game, it's about defending from the front to the front. And that's not necessarily his strong skill. So um some some interesting stats there to kind of put another nail on the fact that actually, are we a better team?
00:16:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:16:10
Chris
Are we a better team without Matthias Kuni?
00:16:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
Well, I think... don't know. i was going to say I think we are. I think that be... As much as I want to say that, I do want to point out that in all fairness, in all fairness, you know I'm playing devil's advocate here.
00:16:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
I do think those stats are somewhat... misleading purely because of but i mean the very fact that we've only had 13 games without him. That's a lot easier to have a higher win rate in you know less games, obviously.
00:16:44
Chris
How dare you? Yeah.
00:16:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah But also, I see quite a few of those stats because obviously that's stretching back to last season. I see a lot of those stats as well as O'Neill o'e versus Pereira almost. I know that's harsh, but um so I want to add a bit of O'Neill tax, if you like, on on onto those figures.
00:17:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
um
00:17:10
Chris
yeah
00:17:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
and i think But even with that, even with that um so let's let's say I was saying that I'm not fully reading into those stats as much as they might show you that he has a negative impact.
00:17:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
let's let's say I'm saying it doesn't show that just for argument's sake well then it doesn't show that he has a good one either so it makes no difference so so for 60 odd million and in a player who walks and doesn't want to be here you know you you go without and e you sort of you know you you save yourself all of that hassle like said I do think I'm i'm doing a lot on his defence there but whereas I don't necessarily believe it but yeah
00:17:56
Chris
Yeah, I think to as well, to i mean to put it my points in perspective, the note I said earlier when I watched the Man U game back about the fact that I felt that we missed the likes of Bellaguard in place of Cunha.
00:18:09
Chris
And i I watched and had those thoughts that I've just made you earlier in this part about i' all of that was before I saw these stats going wild on Twitter about, you know, with and without Cunha.
00:18:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:18:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:18:21
Chris
But for me, it was visually there. It's one of the first things I thought when I was watching that game back is that the the the team that we've seen do the the winning stretch before the Man U game even was was more ah cohesive, there you go, there's your word of the day, with them without him in the squad.
00:18:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. yeah
00:18:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I agree. I agree.
00:18:42
Chris
And so I think if I'm, so personally, I think we are better. I think it's been seen from the stands from
00:18:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:18:52
Chris
as a fan base. And that's just my opinion. Other people think he walks on water and you entitled you're entitled to think that because he is still were technically one of the best players we've seen in all shirt.
00:19:03
Chris
However, i think as it football, like so many things, is a team sport. And I think as a team, we work at the moment better without Kunja in the side. And so I would not be opposed to and when Belagard is fit again or whoever it may be to someone coming in in the start and have him back on the bench.
00:19:23
Chris
Because for me, we played better the last few games without him than with.
00:19:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, yeah. Chris, I agree with you.

Vitor Pereira's Strategic Decisions

00:19:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
I agree with you. I was just playing Devil's Africa. And, um you know, at the end of the day, it's not for us to decide, but Vitor, he's the man who's got to, you know, select the start in XI.
00:19:40
Chris
He is the man.
00:19:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
And um speaking of selections, um here at the Global Sports Podcast Network, we spent a lot of time selecting our delivery platform. Zencaster came out the clear winner.

00:20:14
Chris
ah on While you were talking about Vitor, sorry, just to note, if you saw that anyone saw the post-match of him the after the game on on Sunday, is it he looked so drained, like so emotionally shattered and exhausted.
00:20:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, yeah.
00:20:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, yeah.
00:20:30
Chris
it i was actually a little bit worried because it was just not it didn't look like the Vitor that we've seen. and they even asked him, in that because but now it's become a bit of a thing even in the national press that people are making such a thing about this going out drinking with the fans because it kind of went a little bit viral.
00:20:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hmm.
00:20:44
Chris
And so they're asking are you going to be out with the fans tonight? And he was it looking a little bit down beast and like, oh I'm not sure. You know, I'm really tired. He he even said, I'm just really tired. And so maybe it's the release of tension, having now literally, and know we felt safe before, but mathematically being safe and, you know, just the strain of having got the team through the task that he set out to do in the first place.
00:21:08
Chris
I don't know. Who knows? Or maybe it was Man U atmosphere was really stressful that day.
00:21:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mm-hmm.
00:21:12
Chris
He looked not with it. And so I was a bit concerned. And then less than three hours later, he's back at the pub. like So I don't know how long he was out for, but he didn't end up uptown again.
00:21:22
Chris
But I was just

Upcoming Match Against Leicester: Predictions and Hopes

00:21:24
Chris
a little bit worried there. I'm hoping he's back to himself because wishing you were all the love, it's all.
00:21:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yes, I saw that. Yeah, I saw that. Obviously, hope is well. i'm sure vs I'm sure it's just the fact that, you know, combination of A, it being Easter Sunday and him sort of wanted to chill, but just being in the general stress that they go through. Like I said, we're safe now.
00:21:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
And I imagine that the overall flat feel to the game on on Sunday, imagine that obviously doesn't just impact the fans, but the players and staff as well. And I think when you're dragged from that to then go and do whatever media duties it is that we all know they can't be bothered to do.
00:22:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
um ah You know, I'm i'm sure, well, I hope it was nothing nothing more than that. um And I hope as well that he he has got his energy back by this Saturday when we host Leicester at home.
00:22:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, um Chris, I mean, that whoop whoop sort of, you know, it sounded positive. and But yeah, what are your thoughts and feelings heading into the game?
00:22:33
Chris
I mean, my thoughts are how it it has to be. it has to be six wins on the bounce. Like it has to be right. And if it isn't, then something has gone catastrophically wrong because I mean they've lost what is it five of their last six then only the only one they didn't was a draw they look distraught I mean they are down they're on 18 points you know they are just all over the place uh Nistleroyd I think doesn't know what to do with them and so um just I'm I'm
00:23:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:23:14
Chris
and I'm so wanted to be six wins and become another continuation of the record breaking streak and has to become continue to be the on form team in the country. And I'm just pat I'm just and absolutely petrified that it's so nailed on that something is going to go wrong.
00:23:30
Chris
do you know what I mean? Like, it just feels too good to be true.
00:23:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Yeah. Well, those were my exact thoughts as you were saying it, because I was just thinking, as much as it's sort of you know written in the stars and you'd have to it's easier it's easier to win than it is to lose almost.
00:23:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah um You've got to remember, Chris, that we are Wolves fans and it would just be the most typical thing for me. I don't think we'd go as far as to lose, but I have a feeling in the same sort of lackless to feel that there was to the United game.
00:24:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
I can just see like a dead nil-nil or one-all draw written over this game. I really hope I'm wrong um because as you mentioned there, out of the last five, obviously we know that we've won all five.
00:24:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
all five Leicester haven't won one. one They've lost four and they've got to draw away to Brighton. So, you know, surely, surely the run can't here.
00:24:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
I mean, you know, I'd like to think not, but you never know.
00:24:41
Chris
yeah i mean if you think we went away it was one of vitor's first games right we beat them uh three nil no wait was it when he's 14th but yeah it was it was it was vitor's first game in charge we went and beat yeah because it was that straight after the switch game where that got gary o'neill the boot
00:24:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
don't know. I'm trying to think.
00:24:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Yeah,
00:25:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah, yeah. Yeah,
00:25:02
Chris
So 22nd December, we beat Leicester away Vittles' first game in charge. And that was the impetus behind like his new regime. and And we are undoubtedly ah way better team now or playing as a much superior team now than we were at the time we first came in and still managed to beat them away.
00:25:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah. yeah
00:25:23
Chris
So you, I mean, it's just, it's got to be, it's got to be.
00:25:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
I know, i know. the The thing is, oh though, and what actually sort of weirdly scares me is the fact that they're already down. You know, there's no there's no real pressure on them. And I know there isn't on us, apart from the fact that we are expecting to win.
00:25:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
You know, i when you're at home and you should win, is that pressure. But for the Leicester players... you know, it's there's there's not yeah there's nothing in it for them either way other than pride.
00:25:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
But do you know what I mean?
00:26:00
Chris
They're on the beach.
00:26:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
I sometimes...
00:26:01
Chris
They're all looking for new contracts with other clubs.
00:26:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:26:04
Chris
They're all talking to their agent.
00:26:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
I know.
00:26:05
Chris
They're all trying to, Cody's on the phone to us, trying to like get a you know get a new job.
00:26:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
I'll take it.
00:26:11
Chris
you know They're all on their way out.
00:26:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
I'll take it.
00:26:13
Chris
They don't care.
00:26:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
I know, but I just... And and that's exactly what worries me, though. That's exactly... Because, you know, i just sort of... It's too good to be true, Chris. It's it's just too good to be true.
00:26:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
But with that being said, with that being said, and I know it's perhaps a bit early on for me to ask you this question, but I'm going to do it anyway. I'm going to put you on the spot.
00:26:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
um ah I just hinted at the fact that it would sort of be typical for us to see a sort of boring draw, what What would your score prediction be for Saturday?
00:26:54
Chris
and um
00:26:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
I know it's early. I know it's early.
00:26:57
Chris
You know, i think, and and just to add to that, I think we'll see a pretty, as we've seen throughout this winning streak, I think we'll see a pretty much unchanged side. it will I think it's literally going to be down to injuries as to, you know, who's where, whether that's the goalie situation, whether it's who plays on the right of the back three and so on.
00:27:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hmm. Hmm.
00:27:16
Chris
I think it's literally going to be down to injuries. Other than that, we're going to see an unchanged side because it's working.
00:27:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:27:21
Chris
um And as I said, if Bellegarde's fit, I'd want him back over Cunha. That's just me. In terms the score... why not Why not hope we can do the double of a 3-0 win and really, you know, let's have a golden day at Molyneux, shall we?
00:27:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, well, I was thinking that. You know, when I said that just just the thought of it being Saturday, three o'clock, six wins on the bounce. You know, in theory. um So I'd like to agree with you. I'm going i'm going to say 2-0.
00:27:55
Chris
Okay.
00:27:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
I don't think it'll be overly exciting, but I'm sort of um'm expecting Strand Larsson to add to his tally and you know maybe get both maybe get both.
00:28:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
But you know um i am confident, despite the sort of worry.
00:28:12
Chris
I'll tell you, my my dream for a 3-0 win would be the goal the dream goal scorers for a 3-0 win on a perfect day at Molineux on a six-game winning streak would be obviously Larson to continue his great start to first-ever Premier League season.
00:28:27
Chris
And then home in front of the home crowd, goals for Minetsi, bring it, and Andre.
00:28:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:28:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yes.
00:28:37
Chris
Just imagine it.
00:28:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. it's a good yeah
00:28:37
Chris
Just imagine it. And then another selfie. Thank you very much.
00:28:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
I was, for a split second, Chris, I was worried that you were going to hint at a Cody own goal. And I don't i don't want that I hope he gets a good reception.
00:28:48
Chris
No, no, no, no, no. Actually, if not Andre, Agbidou, please. Get an Agbidou free kick pelter or something through the wall.
00:28:55
Chris
Just like absolutely blast it.
00:28:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah yeah i was Yeah, I was just going to say when you said, as soon as you said Agmadu, I just pictured it being an absolute sort of rocket from from any kind of distance.
00:29:03
Chris
Yeah. I don't want a boring...
00:29:06
Chris
He's great in the air. i don't want a boring header from him. I want an Agbidou rocket. I want an absolute pelter, please.
00:29:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:29:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Yeah, well, whatever it is, is you know it's going to have power to it, isn't it? Yeah.
00:29:15
Chris
Yeah.
00:29:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
But yeah, on that note, Chris, with that being said, with that being said, um i did the honours last time of coining a very well-known phrase.

Conclusion: Optimism for Wolves' Future

00:29:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
But I'm going to throw the responsibility back in your direction to to see this episode out for us.
00:29:36
Chris
Oh, wow, okay.
00:29:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
what what does What does this season make you think of?
00:29:40
Chris
This season, as we mentioned before, over like just so many other seasons before, has reminded us, and as we're going to go hopefully six wins on the trot,
00:29:51
Chris
it reminds us that just remember when all seems lost, that as of darkness cometh light.
00:30:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
Thank you. Thank you and goodbye.
