Introduction and Episode Theme

00:00:12
Speaker
Hey guys, welcome back to the Sinister Sister podcast. I'm Felicia. And I'm Lauren. And we're best friends. And we talk about horror movies. It's true. Do we love them or we talk about them? I don't know. Both. Both. Well, today we're doing something very different that I'm really excited about. Yeah, we're going real loose. Loose.
00:00:29
Speaker
No research. No research. We figured... We're going to instinct. Yeah, we figured you guys would like to know more about us now. Of course you do! Probably they don't care at all. But this is horror themed. It's a horror themed get to know you. A horror themed get to know you. In the vein of 20 questions. Yes, and they're kind of all over the place.
00:00:48
Speaker
Nice. I just want to let everyone know that Lauren did all the work for this episode and I did none of the work. So any interesting questions? Thank Lauren. And if they're bad, also don't hate me. Don't hate Lauren. Um, but we're going to go in an order that I choose. Yes, you go. But anyway, I'm going to start off.

Fears from 'The Grudge' and 'The Ring'

00:01:10
Speaker
I think we've talked about it a little bit, but which horror movie scarred you for life?
00:01:19
Speaker
Okay, I'll say the one that affected me the longest that I actually felt like I had issues from was actually The Grudge. Oh really? Yes, I kept, this is not in the movie, but I kept having this fear that The Grudge girl was in my toilet and was going to grab my downtown while I was peeing. I know that's a very specific... I mean, it's not a podcast.
00:01:47
Speaker
Like I don't know why I had that very specific fear, but I would have to go into the bathroom and I would like check the, you know, check the shower as you do when you're terrified of everything. I checked the shower still every night. And then I would like go to the bathroom and be like really fast and just try to like get up really fast. Cause I was like, Oh God. And I don't know why, but it was like, I just pictured like her hand coming up and then like her hair everywhere. I also hate wet hair. Yes.
00:02:15
Speaker
even though I have so much hair. I don't know. Maybe it's because you are scared of your own hair. Maybe. Maybe. What about you? What was yours? Well, so I thought I know yours. No, I was going to say I've talked about the ring a lot. That is definitely. Oh, you mean Chucky? Yeah, I mean Chucky. Yeah. So Chucky is confusing because it was really the doll existing that scared me for life, but the movie didn't scar me for life. That's good. That's a good point. So I would say the ring. That is the one that troubled me for many years.
00:02:43
Speaker
Like, flickering TVs, no go. Both, uh, originally Japanese horror. Interesting. Yeah, interesting. Something there. But the, yeah, it was definitely, I slept in my little brother's room for possibly two years after. No way. Yeah, it's really bad, Felicia. That's amazing. I didn't know that. And I slept with the lights on for maybe a month after. It's why I'm so good at sleeping now, probably.
00:03:07
Speaker
And a week after the movie I had a full-on panic attack because I was convinced that I was going to die because it was seven days later Oh my god, my parents were like Stop it grow up. Something is wrong with you grow up like truly I don't get hotel rooms and be like there's a TV here and they'd be like you need to take a breath. Oh my god Oh, that's awful. So I would say that but I also just have to mention I saw the hills have eyes. Oh remake
00:03:36
Speaker
Either way I saw Unrated and that also like very that one's really scared that one and that's the one like I think about sometimes like in the dark alone Yeah, I thought of the person at my friend's house and I remember like I really wanted to turn it off Yeah, I felt very scared. It's really gross question Okay, do you want to pick one? Um, yes Let's see How about

Would You Spend a Night in a Haunted House?

00:04:04
Speaker
Would you spend a full night in a haunted house if someone paid you? Mine would really depend on the... How much money? Cash money, yeah. Okay, what about a hundred dollars?
00:04:17
Speaker
It's so funny because when I imagine myself in a haunted house, I'm like, oh yeah, I'd do that for $100. But for some reason if it was like a haunted penitentiary or a haunted hospital, I'm like, I don't think I could do that. Haunted hospital, I could not do that. Right? It's too big. Yeah. Because things could be anywhere. Anywhere.
00:04:42
Speaker
I also am like, what I would do is go into the front area, curl up into a little ball, not make a single sound, not sleep, and not move all night. That's not worth $100. I don't know. Would you do it for $100? I would really be interested in doing something like this with a group. If I had to do it by myself, I'd ask, I would do it for,
00:05:11
Speaker
$500. Okay. But I would do it for $100 if I could have a friend. Yeah. If we could do it together. If we could do it together, we might do it for $50 each. Yeah, if someone has $50, if someone has $100, Lauren and I will go spend the night in a haunted house somewhere. Wait, this is like, I actually don't know this about you. What? Have you ever said Bloody Mary in front of a mirror? Oh, yeah.
00:05:34
Speaker
Really? As a child, I was constantly trying to get something spooky to come towards me. I was like, please, world, send me a ghost. I did Bloody Mary a lot. I did the Ouija boards. I did everything I could possibly think of. I can't believe you did Ouija boards. I was obsessed. I was dying to talk to someone from the other side. I think that's another question, so I'm going to wait before I ask you more questions. Okay, okay. But it never worked for me, so how about you?
00:05:59
Speaker
I think I only did Bloody Mary like one time, one sleepover, and I had never heard of it before. Like I remember the girls telling me about Bloody Mary. Oh really? Yeah. That's cool. Which like maybe I just like- I don't remember how I found out about it. Yeah, right? Isn't that weird? I feel like probably in a movie or something.
00:06:17
Speaker
Did you see Mercy Black? It's on Netflix. I just, I recently watched it and it's actually really good. It's sort of like Bloody Mary, but the entity is called Mercy Black instead. And it's like this female entity that like convinces little kids to like kill other little kids. That's like do other bad things. It's actually pretty scary. But it's sort of like Bloody Mary-ish. What's that? Let's see.

Hypothetical Last Meal Choices

00:06:46
Speaker
like this one. If you were given the death penalty, what would your last meal be? And we love food here at the Sinister Sisters podcast. This is really hard for me. I know. It would either be like a big Taco Bell combo, like a chalupa, big Baja Blast, cinnamon twists, the whole thing, a Dorito Taco, or it would be like a giant plate of gnocchi.
00:07:16
Speaker
Nice. And like a big bottle of wine. Oh, yeah. Might as well get trashed before you get killed. Or maybe like a, yeah, maybe like a, a gnocchi and like a big old fashioned. Mmm, that sounds nice. Some whiskey. Yeah. Pass out. That sounds pretty good. Mine, mine would be a couple things. It would be, also, from Taco Bell, I would do one cheesy gordita crunch. I would do one Shake Shack burger.
00:07:45
Speaker
Um, probably some form of like mac and cheese. Yeah. And a lobster. A lobster. I feel like everyone has to do a lobster. Yeah. It's not like a thing. I think probably. Like steak and lobster is like a thing. I feel like I would have to have mashed potatoes too. Ooh, mashed potatoes. Yeah. Actually, I would just want to go to a Golden Corral. Yes! Now what do you do at Lazviel? I just get it all. I think that's exactly right for us. I love that question. Okay.
00:08:12
Speaker
What do you want etched onto your tombstone? And this is also a bigger question because how would you like to be preserved?
00:08:26
Speaker
I saw this question when I opened this doc today and my first instinct was just to write, she'll see you later. I love that. Which I thought I've always had the attention of becoming a ghost after I die. So even though I think realistically I'd probably want to be cremated, because I just feel like there's not enough room
00:08:49
Speaker
Yeah, but also like I feel like I'm supposed to end up in a graveyard and scaring people so yeah I For the sake of this question. I would say I would have a gravestone and it would say fleece you Lobo. She'll see you later. I love Don't die
00:09:03
Speaker
I love that. That's the only one I actually kind of thought about today. I literally, I cannot remember who gave me this line. What? That I want on my tombstone and I'm so sorry. It's a dear friend and I've forgotten that they said this to me. Oh, wow. But it would be- Do we listen to the podcast? We'll find out. I mean, we'll find out and I'll hear about it. But I would want to say badass with a good ass.
00:09:24
Speaker
Ooh, that's so good. That's so you too. But also like probably not. God no, it's for- I want to be cremated and then thrown into the ocean. Thrown into the wind. Yeah. Oh, I want to be baked into a pie and fed to my enemies. Oh my god. Wouldn't that be funny? That should be in a movie. Is it in a movie? Maybe I didn't make that up. There's that shit pie in. What's it called?
00:09:49
Speaker
I was gonna say there's the pubic pie in Midsummer. So freaking gross. Great movie, gross scene. Okay, what else we got on here? This is pretty brutal. If you were to commit a murder, how would you go about it? I've thought about it a lot. Really? Tell me all about it. It would definitely be poison. Oh, simple. I think that would be the only way that I could go. Yeah. To be honest.
00:10:14
Speaker
And I would slip it into their food, obviously. Yes. As the good housewife that you are. Exactly. Maybe it's I've thought about killing my husband. I have no husband, to be clear. Yeah, but if you did. If I did, it would definitely be poison. Yeah, there you go.
00:10:31
Speaker
That's it. That's really a hard question. Because then I'd be like, oh, they ate bad food at that restaurant we went to. What's one to do? What a loss. What a loss. So sad, tear, tear. That's so hard. Because I feel like I feel that. Because it's a very clean hands way to kill someone. It's the female way of killing. Yeah, it's the female way of killing. What's like, I don't even know.
00:11:03
Speaker
Also, like, how good would a bomb be, though? Oh! Did you see that? There's a lawn order episode, SVU, where somebody dies because they put this, like, nitro shooter that you use underwater into someone's abdomen and explodes the body all over the backyard. No? It's a crazy lawn order episode. Is that what you want? I guess so!
00:11:28
Speaker
I don't know. I guess it would be like either the poison or like hitting someone in my car or something like that. Oh yeah. Just something that I don't think I could ever do a close kill. No. You know what I mean? We don't have it in us. I don't think so. I only like to watch it from afar. Although there are some people that I think I could strangle with my bare hands. Me. Just kidding. No! Okay, my turn. Yeah.
00:11:54
Speaker
Well, while we're talking about this, in your opinion, what is the most brutal way to die?

Worst Ways to Die

00:12:00
Speaker
I would say burning alive. Yep, that's what I was going to say. Maybe it's because of all of our experience in Salem. Oh, maybe. I would say maybe burning alive, the other one would I would say drowning, anything that takes a long time.
00:12:15
Speaker
Anything that takes longer than a few seconds. Or suffocating. Or suffocating. I would rather have a very quick death, I guess. Yeah, let's get a shot in the head too. Yeah, very quick. Okay, so this is a zombie question.

Zombie Apocalypse Weaponry

00:12:32
Speaker
In the zombie apocalypse, what would your weapon of choice be?
00:12:37
Speaker
Okay, so if I could have the time to train, it would be a crossbow. Oh, totally. Yeah, that's the most fun. Like Darryl in The Walking Dead. Oh, Darryl. He's so hot. So hot. But I would be silent but deadly. But if someone handed me a crossbow right now, I would have no ability to do it at all. So I think like maybe a pitchfork. Oh, also for a descent.
00:13:05
Speaker
It keeps them at a distance, which I think is good. That's good.
00:13:11
Speaker
Oh my god, or a samurai sword like Michonne. Oh yeah, yeah, that's what you really want. Yeah, that's what I want. I would also say crossbow because that seems the most fun. And you're not like, if you run out of bullets, you know, like you can always go get your arrow. Yes. Oh, that's a good point. That's a very good point. Or just shoot something different at them. Right. Yeah, I would say that. Or I guess like an easy example seems like gun. Yeah.
00:13:40
Speaker
That feels boring. That doesn't feel boring. That feels boring, a little bit. I mean a little, but we talked about the good ones. I'm stealing yours, I'm just saying crossbow. That's mine too. Do you know what you want your last words to be? See you later. See you later. I think I would, no, sorry, is that really what you meant? Yeah, yeah, I would be like, I'll see you in your dreams.
00:14:06
Speaker
Don't go to sleep tonight. Yeah, what about, yeah, I like the idea of like, I'm gonna haunt you. Or you'll be really fucked up to be like, go to this town and find the library, find this book and go to the 53rd page. Look at the 76th word and that's my last word to you. And then make them go on this really stupid journey and it's like poop or something. Yeah, you didn't even know. Yeah, yeah, that would be pretty funny. I like that.
00:14:34
Speaker
I know, I can't think of anything, I mean probably you would want it to be like, I'm at peace. Yeah, I guess that's the nice thing to know. It's less fun. Yeah, it's probably smart though. Or I would like the idea of revealing a big secret. Oh yeah, by the way. I'm not your mother. I'm not your mother. Yeah, that was pretty good. Alright, would you, I already know the answer to that one.
00:14:58
Speaker
I just started reading it. The question is, would you buy a doll that you knew was haunted? Definitely not. No way. If you didn't listen to our doll's episode, you really missed out on Lauren's childhood trauma. A lot of trauma. But you would, right? I would, absolutely. For sure. I love that. As long as someone also told me how to get rid of it if I needed to. That makes sense.
00:15:29
Speaker
I'm also like, how haunted? Anyways, okay. That's what I was gonna say. Like, do you have a limit? How haunted are you? Like, it moves sometimes? Are you like a ghost? Are you like a demon? Or it like, kills people sometimes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Or is it just like, meh? That's what you would want. Just like, giggling doll. Just like, giggling doll.
00:15:45
Speaker
Alright Felicia, maybe this should actually be the last question. Are we at 20? No. Oh. I'm sorry. I was just thinking like that's a good one to do last. Oh, and her? Okay. So I'm gonna let that go for now. Okay. What is the worst nightmare that you ever had as a child? Mmm.
00:16:06
Speaker
I did used to have a dream about chasing me with a knife, specifically. I actually throughout my life have a lot of dreams, probably because I watch so many horror movies, where I am trying to get away from someone and I am running and going through the subway and going through this and going through that, trying to get away from someone. And a lot of times I don't know what it is. I'm just going or just running.
00:16:31
Speaker
Yeah. But I know something is coming, but I don't know what it is. It's probably some, some psychic could tell me a lot. We got to go to a psychic about that. Uh, but as a kid, I did, I did used to have a dream. Like guy with like a knife was like chasing me and I used to like, um, pray to wake up, which is interesting because I'm, I'm pretty agnostic. But at the time I used to just like pray and be like, I know I'm asleep.
00:16:55
Speaker
if you could please wake me up. So you're somebody that in your dream can say I'm having a dream? Yeah, not all the time. Yeah, I was gonna say I've always been like, that is crazy. I've never felt that. You've never had that? I actually had that quite a few times in my life where it's like, I'm like, okay, I'm here.
00:17:15
Speaker
I don't know how to get out of here right now, but I'm here. Wow, that's really crazy. Weird. That's very weird. I had like, I had a cup ball. I had one, it's so funny that you talk about the grudge coming out of the toilet. Oh, huh. Because I had a really vivid dream of Samora from the ring sitting on a toilet. Me, really? Oh, fitting the bathroom door and Samora was sitting on the toilet. Oh, no. Which is really hilarious. Not peeing, I assume. Just sitting. Just sitting, waiting for you. Waiting for you.
00:17:43
Speaker
But then I have another vivid dream of like one of my friends growing up, like her sister, which I've never had any problem with the sister, I don't know where this came from, but I had a really vivid dream of her shoving me off a cliff. That was pretty scary. That is really scary. Because then it was one of those dreams. Have you had one of those where you're falling and then you wake up on impact? Oh my god. I don't know if I've actually had that, but I've heard of that. It is very, I've had several like that. Interesting. I don't know what that's about either.
00:18:12
Speaker
Well, our psychic will tell us. Yes, we'll figure that out. Oh god. Would you consider tasting human flesh for $100? Yes. Really? Yeah. No way! I would eat human flesh if it was prepared correctly.
00:18:28
Speaker
For you really watch sounds of the lambs too many times. I think that's what it is. I'm like, all right Another kind of meat with a little barbecue sauce. Yeah Did this person know they were gonna be eating? I guess that would be my question is where did this meat come from? Yeah, cuz you can't really prove that who is it? Oh
00:18:45
Speaker
Who is this? Who is it? How fresh is it? Is it barbecued? Is it barbecued? Is the skin on or off? Is it crispy? You're really grossed out. I don't like it. I couldn't do it. I think I would, yeah. I'd do a lot of things. I'd do a hundred dollars. Really? Yeah. I don't think I could do it. A small little bite. I don't think so. Really? Not at all. I don't think so. What would be your going rate? Oh, like a thousand dollars. All right. You're expensive. I'm a pricey bitch.
00:19:17
Speaker
Is that bad? Maybe I'm a cannibal. Maybe you're a cannibal. I mean, I don't know. You really seem to...
00:19:23
Speaker
relate to Hannibal. It is, that's what I was going to say. Maybe it's just because I've idolized Anthony Hopkins too long. Yeah, that must be it. Okay, would you rather get, this is stupid, but I'm asking, because I picked these questions.

Vampire vs. Zombie Bite Preference

00:19:37
Speaker
Would you rather get bitten by a vampire or bitten by a zombie? Vampire. A hundred percent. It would be way sexier. So sexy. Also, zombie rips you up. Can you be a vampire? Yeah, no, I want a vampire. I could be like,
00:19:49
Speaker
Well, I'll be your lifetime lover if you just have a little your blood. It's so good. Yeah, no way zombie Okay. Oh we have a more specific question. What is your favorite season of American Horror Story? I didn't know this about you, which is why I selected it. Oh is it really? Yeah, I think my favorite season is actually two. Is that the asylum? Yeah, that's my favorite season too. It's so good. It's the one that
00:20:13
Speaker
I had the hardest time watching because I really don't like doctor stuff. Agreed. With the girl that has no limbs, I can't take that shit. I'm so uncomfortable. No, it's really upsetting. And any kind of torture where you can't stop it.
00:20:28
Speaker
especially it's like someone of authority that's supposed to be protecting you. And that's what I was gonna say, everyone knows. Yes. It's not like Texas Chainsaw Massacre where it's like you're in the middle of nowhere and no one knows. It's like this is an institution. Totally. I was most wild by the first season. Yes. But the second season was the most disturbing. Yeah. And coven was really bad. Yeah. Which I was really sad because I love witches. I know. Okay. If you were stuck as the protagonist in any horror movie,
00:20:58
Speaker
Which would you choose? The protagonist in any horror movie. Oof, hard. Right? Let's see. I keep thinking through like, oh no, she's gotta like do this thing though, I can't do that. It's true.
00:21:15
Speaker
I'm gonna say, actually, I'm gonna say Dana from Cabin in the Woods because if I got to go down to a government layer and find out that all these creatures I've been dreaming about my whole life actually exist, I'd be like, all right, it's cool, I'll go now, that's all I needed to know. I love it. Yeah, that's probably mine, what about you? I think mine would actually be Child's Play.
00:21:38
Speaker
No way! Really? Because in all reality- Wait, to be Chuckie or to face Chuckie? To face Chuckie. In all reality, he's a demon doll. Yeah. Like, kick him. Just light him on fire. Yeah. That's true. There has to be some better way. Than the way that they handle him. Yeah. I just think, like,
00:21:58
Speaker
Or maybe like a zombie movie. I could do a zombie movie. Yeah, that could be fun. I would like that. I would like to be in a zombie apocalypse. I think sometimes that I would like to be. It sounds fun. It sounds fun because you could also like hide a little better. Yeah. Than like something in your own home. Right. Yeah, I get that. I love the idea of, you know, normal work life being gone. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You just eat cocoa puffs.
00:22:23
Speaker
Or I would like to be, do you see that being the babysitter? No. It's good. On Netflix. On Netflix, yeah. I would like to be one of the kids in the cult. That sounds pretty fun. I'm asking now, right? Are you afraid of clowns? I am, but I don't have that whatever. True fear. Yeah. Intense clown fear. Yeah, yeah. I don't like them. They are unsettling sometimes. Yeah.
00:22:53
Speaker
I think more to me are like the ones that aren't supposed to be scary, are when they're scary. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because you're like, how is this supposed to be fun? Yeah, I'm like, this is like, and also like, what, what made you want to be a clown?
00:23:05
Speaker
Is it that you're at kids parties? Because I feel skeeved out. Yes! Oh my god, that's funny. You? Well, I don't know if you know this or not, my mom used to have a very large collection of clowns. I think I do remember this. Many different kinds. There were some that were like porcelain, little statues, little dolls.
00:23:24
Speaker
Huge collection um and but that was also when I was a child before Actually not I mean she had them before it came out um but I Was already sort of freaked out by this collection of clowns, and then I saw it Where I saw half of it, and then I turned it off
00:23:46
Speaker
And so I was actually a little scared of clowns, but I also, now I don't have a phobia of them. I am just not interested in an angry one coming towards me. No, definitely not. That's how I feel. Okay, this I think is where, or maybe not. What? I was gonna say this might be a big disagreeing question, but would you agree to participate in a seance? Yes!
00:24:08
Speaker
because I actually don't know. What? Come on. I think I would. I would do it. You would do it. I would do it, but I would be scared if it was like a very legit one. No, that's what I want though. A really legit one. I guess I would want. I wanted even to speak through me. And I guess at a seance you get the vibe that like whoever's leading it knows what to do. Yeah. That they'll know when to shut it down. Yeah. And I would want to like look out for like, are they scamming me? Are there trays? Oh yeah. I think it'd be fun.
00:24:39
Speaker
Do you believe in ghosts? Do you believe that ghosts exist?

Beliefs About Ghosts

00:24:43
Speaker
Okay, so... It's a hard question. I know. I feel like for a lot of people. It's a hard question for me because like do I believe that ghosts exist in a way that they're like...
00:24:56
Speaker
I could see them or communicate with them. No. Okay, okay. But like, do I hope that spirits are around? Yeah, I don't know. It's hard. It's so tricky. I don't really believe that ghosts can, I don't know, haunt shit. Really? Yeah. With all the evidence. Yeah, there's no evidence to me. There's so much evidence. Alright, you gotta show it. Show me some hard evidence. I believe that
00:25:25
Speaker
I don't necessarily believe that conscious ghosts exist, if that makes sense, but I believe that energy gets stuck places. I believe that if there's a place where something really bad has happened, the energy that is shot off from that really bad thing happening is gonna get stuck in that place. Yeah, I believe that energies can get attached to things, but I don't necessarily believe that
00:25:55
Speaker
the ghost of this old man can come haunt you. If that makes sense. I kind of like that. Yeah. That's how I feel about a lot of things now where I'm just like, I understand there are a lot of things I don't understand. But the one thing I think that makes sense to me is that like when I put our energy
00:26:16
Speaker
I can feel how that affects things, right?
00:26:29
Speaker
Oh, I'm waving my arm wildly. Wildly. You can't see it. I've been doing it for the last three minutes. I'm just waving her arm. But that's how I feel right now. I like that. But I think things also change as you get older. So who knows what I'll think later. Who knows? And then, oh, the last question I was going to say. All

Surviving a Horror Movie

00:26:49
Speaker
right. Last one. Is how long do you think you would last in a horror movie? I hope.
00:26:58
Speaker
from the amount of horror movies I've watched in my life that I would be the final girl, and if I'm not, I would be so mad at myself. Honestly, that's how I feel. I know, I think I feel the same way. It's like, I better know what to do by now. Right. Although it's like, would in a, I guess you're in, I said in a horror movie, not in like a real horror situation.
