But most of all, obviously, for the Jota family, um as I'm sure everyone has seen on on social media, Diogo. was married just just days ago, just days ago to his childhood sweetheart. His wife, his wife has lost her husband days after they got married.

Three young children have lost a father and um and Diego's parents ah will be burying both their sons in the days ahead it's just beyond heartbreaking um this news and i really can't think of a of ah of a parallel um you know, there've been players obviously um that have passed away, you know, great players of the past.

I remember talking about Ray Clements when he, you know, former great Liverpool goalkeeper when he passed away, but generally they they they tend to be older and, you know, they were in ill health, but, you know, to have a a current player um player of the stature that um Diego Jota was. It's, you know, it's it's really quite um quite shocking. And, you know, how how life just just changes in a second. I mean, the the season ended on on such a high level.

um Jurgen Klopp has also um reacted and I think someone like Klopp is, is yeah you know, yeah just the type of emotional character that he is, the kind of bond that he had with his player, almost like a father figure.

Of course, most of all for for the Jota family, um but for his teammates as well, who who are, they become like family, right? These teammates, the The bond that these players develop as they train together every day, they travel the world together, they go through the pain of defeat and the incredible highs of winning together.

All these moments um that they experience together creates ah such a tight bond. And Liverpool have been blessed, I think, particularly from the Klopp era onwards of creating um teams with ah you know an incredible spirit.

you know You can see that the players, they fight for each other. There's a real brotherhood there. And so I think they will feel such a sense of loss when they return to preseason training and one of their brothers, one of their teammates, he's not there and will never be there again. He's gone.

You know, players leave clubs all the time, but normally they've, you know, they've left for another club or they've retired. But they are there, you know, they they're accessible. yeah yeah They're at the end of a phone call or a WhatsApp message.

But this time they have to deal with and cope with the loss of a teammate in the most tragic of circumstances, cut down in his prime. So these players will read will need real support from within the club and ah from the wider supporter base. And I've no doubt that they will get that from the supporters. And I've no doubt that Liverpool Football Club will do everything that they can to support these players in in this really, really difficult time.
