Mahogany- It's Diana Ross 

Alright, maybe we wouldn't recommend watching this movie and maybe we don't agree with critics who think it is Very Important. The main benefit is the cutting edge 1960's fashion. Other than that, it just raised a lot of questions for us. Such as: if your protagonist is lost and unconnected, does the movie need to be that way too? Anyway, it's certainly a movie that we did watch and you can hear our unfiltered thoughts here! 

And go get some colored tights, I beg you.

Blow-Up- I Say "No" and "Don't"

I don't care who you are, there't not one person that thinks Audrey Hepburn is plain and ordinary and in need of a makeover. Any yet, here we are! This movie really makes you suspend disbelief, and not just because it's a musical. 

Join us as we enter the world of high fashion in a way that only the French can do. And stay despite the weird weird age difference between Fred Astaire and Audrey Hepburn. And please- think pink!!

We're back!! We missed you! Welcome to season five- movies about clothes! We're starting with the oldest movie on our list. We knew a film from 1939 would exactly be progressive, but boy was it not! Buckle up for a ride where we try to figure out why a movie with no men in it can't be more about the female characters that are.

It's our fantasy season finale extravaganza! So much movie, perhaps too much or not enough based on where you stand. We're talking about the trilogy as a whole. And as per usual we are criss-crossing back and forth through it like Sam and Frodo. These movies were a turning point for behind the scenes content that made all our nerdy hearts sing.

Lord of the Rings- We end at the beginning

The pale man traumatized a generation of moviegoers. Were you one of them? This movie is brimming with incredible creature and monster designs paired with perfectly real characters that are in the most lovely lived-in clothes. Plus the most messages about Catholicism and whether the fairytale ending is real or not. Check it out and let us know what you think really happened at the end!

Pan's Labyrinth- Millennials Know

Wow, another real 1980's fantasy movie! This made us ask the question- how many fantasy movies from the 20th century are --heavily-- influenced by Lord of the Rings??

This movie also sparked a discussion about how common it is for costume design education programs to only teach you how to design for certain bodies. Something we would like to change!
