The Amazing Rewatch: Okay. Is this working? Yes. yeah Hello. Welcome to September Sister Session. We were just talking and we decided to stop talking so that we could talk on here. Yeah. We were talking about Dancing with the Stars and I'm like, we should just record this conversation. What are we doing? Can't have an interesting conversation without recording it.
The Amazing Rewatch: so We can talk about fixations because we're fixated on yeah Dancing with the Stars. We're on the letter F this month. For September. And a fall favorite as well. Yes. They sometimes cross over. Dancing with the Stars. Season... I don't even know. ah Like 35? Or something. I don't know.
The Amazing Rewatch: is aired. And there's been three episodes. This recent episode was Yacht Rock. well Okay, so that's another thing. Okay, so some things we've discussed already.
The Amazing Rewatch: The elimination. Okay, this is going to be a spoiler if you haven't watched episode three. The elimination was Britt and Taylor Hansen. Yes. And there was like some drama going on. Like everybody after was kind of like, what was that about? So when they announced that they were leaving, Brit's face was just like.
The Amazing Rewatch: Oh my gosh. and like devastated and like all the pros coming around her and being like so like it was like so serious yeah and What's the drama?
The Amazing Rewatch: Um, There was like a video of somebody from the audience videoing. Like, all the team, all the... pearls were coming up to her to like hug her and all this stuff and when whitney came to do it she kind of like patted her on the back and walked away And it's like mad at her and stuff like that. Anyways.
The Amazing Rewatch: my I said... okay so people are saying that Brittany always gets... It's just Brit, I think. Or Brit always gets the... Bad. partners and there's favoritism and she doesn't get you know and she gets eliminated and stuff but My opinion was like, I just thought her choreography was kind of boring this season.
The Amazing Rewatch: And you said Taylor was boring, which I agree. But people said that the one week one when the voting was broken. Yeah, they're like Hanson fans broke the internet.
The Amazing Rewatch: And so then I was surprised that. And I was like... I don't want him to go all the way because of these Hanson fans. That's how much he was boring me. Like, I don't want the Hanson fans to drag him along.
The Amazing Rewatch: It's so weird to me that there's like... Actually, people that... No more than Mbop. That is the only song of theirs that I know. Yeah. Yeah. Same. And they were like my generation. Yeah.
The Amazing Rewatch: I just. did not get into them. yeah So anyways, I wasn't sad to see them go, but it's like this big deal online Yeah. really interesting um people are mad that guillermo is staying but he actually is getting better he's actually trying yeah he's trying hard and he's getting better and he's not like he's he's dancing i don't know if it was a full season that they did this but it was like they would have the bottom
The Amazing Rewatch: two and then the judges would pick who'd go home they did that like one or two times and i like that yeah Because it is a dancing competition, but it's also an entertainment show and people are going to vote.
The Amazing Rewatch: But I also agree with like... These men, these older men who... they have families and careers and jobs and they'll be perfectly fine if they get voted off. and they're not good.
The Amazing Rewatch: But they're entertaining. Yeah. But it's like, we don't have to protect them. Yeah. People like infantilize them. And they're like, oh. Andy is so sweet. And I'll be so sad if he goes, my heart will break. It's like, he'll be fine.
The Amazing Rewatch: yeah Oh, Guillermo, look at him. He's such a sweetheart. He's a little sweet baby. No, he is. for he'll be He'll be fine. like We don't have to protect them. And they're expecting to leave. place So every week that they stay, they're like, oh my gosh, what is happening? Yeah. And Whitney just keeps getting more pregnant and pregnant. Yeah.
The Amazing Rewatch: So... Anyways, it was a very interesting... Weekend and an elimination. Also. The negative comments for Jackson's Paso Doble. And it's like, that's not fair for him to have to do a Paso Doble to freaking yacht rock.
The Amazing Rewatch: they're like of course he wasn't to the music because that was not a fossil song Yeah, that was a bad. um theme Yeah. It used to be that they would either they would do one of two dances every.
The Amazing Rewatch: team it Like Paso or Foxtrot. Yeah, it was like Cha -Cha or Foxtrot. And they would do either one of those. So that it so it wasn't like... Every different style yeah every night. You kind of knew what you were looking for. Yeah. And I kind of liked that. yeah But they are changing it up to keep up, you know, viewership. and Well, they have the viewership. They keep saying that they were breaking records for voting. And I'm like, how is this? How but how was that possible?
The Amazing Rewatch: They keep saying we're breaking records voting. It's because the young people are starting to watch now yeah because of the people who they're putting on the show. But they're still catering to the oldies and doing things that are for old people.
The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah. I didn't even know what Yacht Rock was yeah until... ah It was a category on. before. Oh yeah. I was like, what is yacht rock? It makes, I mean, now that I know what it is, I get it, but. I was gonna say something else.
The Amazing Rewatch: What was I saying? Oh my gosh. This comment. But. I read on threads last night. I was laughing in my bed for like... 15 minutes and I was trying to say it out loud to Jeff and I could not because I was laughing so hard.
The Amazing Rewatch: So last week. When. Guillermo did the Paso, and, like, he had two people come. And pick him up. Help him do the knee slides. Yeah. And it was it was like a dumb comment. And like, it shouldn't have been that funny. But it was like, Andy Richter. I don't know.
The Amazing Rewatch: Andy Richter walked. so So that... I wish. Andy Richter walked so that Guillermo could assist in his life.
The Amazing Rewatch: why that's so funny to me And when you finally got it out, Jeff's probably like... I know. all that I was like, this is not even going to be funny when I finally get this out of my mouth. but Oh man.
The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah. So... I hope they have better themes coming up. They just announced that one of them is a Super Bowl theme. which one you Why do we have to do theme nights every week? I know. is We don't have to do a theme. like Do Disney and Hawaii...

The Amazing Rewatch: On the people. Do you follow Yawn on social media? I think so, but I haven't been getting on Instagram as much as I used to. The fact that he wasn't nominated.
The Amazing Rewatch: he's the most attractive one of all of them and ezra it was so he was like me And. Um, Jan's like, I would vote for Pasha.
The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah. he He looks really good with his dyed hair. Yeah. And I don't really like that look on very many people, but he makes it look really good. But Jan's like really mad that he wasn't. How many of them?

Fall favorites. is our first i just texted sadie this on the way So we haven't had a lot of time to think about it. But Fall Favorites is basically like TV. Dancing with the Stars. Great British baking show I haven't watched.
The Amazing Rewatch: I just watched the first episode today. Yeah. yeah um Amazing Race. And.
The Amazing Rewatch: Traders is gonna start. Or it did start. Yeah, but it's like the civilian season. Yeah. It'll be kind of interesting. Which... yeah I kind of like it because I feel like the traitors with the celebrities it's always like the preconceived like they're a gamer they're a gamer they they never tell the truth and it's like they always go in with like those biases.
The Amazing Rewatch: Biases? Fighting biases. Yeah. But. all The people are saying, like... civilians they're already like people with lots of followings so like influencers basically but Um,
The Amazing Rewatch: yeah Lots of good TV right now. And... Mmm. I'm also Trying to binge Poldark before it goes off Netflix on October 7th.
The Amazing Rewatch: It's been in my to watch list for. Probably three years, and I... Now it's like leaving. I'm like, ah! Bye. I finished the first season, though, and it's good. So. Other fall favorites.
The Amazing Rewatch: I love... I just love Halloween season. I love. spooky stuff. I don't like horror stuff. I like fun. Yeah. Like sweet spooky. Yes. Yeah.
The Amazing Rewatch: Kid Halloween. Uh... costumes trick -or -treating So for... Halloween candies. Freaking expensive.
The Amazing Rewatch: I know. Crazy. I was behind somebody at Costco today that had. Like. three bags of candy in her cart and it was like almost a hundred dollars but That's all she had was Halloween candy and it was almost $100.
The Amazing Rewatch: That's crazy.
The Amazing Rewatch: Well, yeah. Um... I love fall candles. I got a really cheap one from... Uh... Target that I actually really like.
The Amazing Rewatch: I got the small one. I might go back and get the big one. Mmm. And I love it's been kind of like rainy here. So it's been nice to like. I haven't turned on the heater yet for the year. But like opening the windows. Yeah, kind like the chilly mornings, cool evenings. it's gonna get hot again next week not hot but like back up into the Mid to high 80s. Yeah.
The Amazing Rewatch: Let's hop. Yeah. um Me and Olivia went to, on Sunday, we went up to like a. a pond, like a mountain. Like. pond and walk around and had a picnic and stuff and it was really nice.
The Amazing Rewatch: Just the leaves changing. Falls good. Yeah. Fall treats. I love candy corn. That's weird I know. And I bought the Walmart brand.
The Amazing Rewatch: And it's not as good as Brax. Yeah. Brax, specifically candy corn. Hmm. I love them I love eating. Flavored wax. Yeah, it literally is like. wax.
The Amazing Rewatch: And... Yeah. Fall? It's good. Starting, I wore my first like crew neck sweatshirt to work. A couple days ago. I really like wearing sweaters to work. and Yeah.
The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah they had some cute sweaters at Costco today that I bought. Oh my God. I just love yeah fall clothes, fall. It's just not so blasted hot all the time. I just wish it lasted longer.
The Amazing Rewatch: because like it's the last day of september and i feel like we've had like two fall days And... two weeks into October, it's going to get cold and just be like cold. Mm hmm. I don't know. Maybe not. We've had some weird like warmer.
The Amazing Rewatch: winters the last couple of years but
The Amazing Rewatch: Sometimes it snows on Halloween. Mm -hmm. It hasn't been there for a long time, though. Yeah. Let's... Yeah. Halloween is on a Saturday.
The Amazing Rewatch: I feel like Halloween should always be on the last Friday of October. Yeah, because it's not even... Like. what it's If it's like all Hallow's Eve or whatever. It's not.
The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah. The 31st is not. that day. Like, it's not. The 31st isn't anything. Mm hmm. It's not set up to be.
The Amazing Rewatch: It's not like... it's like christmas day that's like yeah the day yeah i yeah i don't really know But when Halloween falls on a Sunday, it always is like. And even Saturday, like the kids are going to do their Halloween.
The Amazing Rewatch: parade. the day before halloween and then you have to get dressed up again to go trick -or -treating the next day it's fun when it's just like all one day yeah and then you don't have to wake up to go to school the next day Yeah. If I were in charge, that's what I would pick. But yeah, I'm not.
The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah, there's some things that it's like. If we just had like a... Just... one time just have like a realistic person like in charge of things like a president and be like we're gonna make halloween the last friday of october Yeah, I think we can all to stop.
The Amazing Rewatch: Changing the time twice a year. Yeah. Every year. They say, we're going to get We're going to get rid of daylight savings and then it never happens. Yeah. I don't even care. which one they pick like whether it's daylight savings time or standard time just like stop changing the time yeah throws everybody We're not all farmers anymore.
The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah. We don't need to do that. I'm going to make it so people can vote. on the west coast for dancing with the stars before They need to bring back the results show. i don't know They literally could do like a 30 -minute show.
The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah. Where it's like. Here's the results. Goodbye. The first week of Dancing with the Stars is not going to be an elimination. And the West Coast is going to be able to vote.
The Amazing Rewatch: After they see people dance. And we're going to get rid of daylight savings. And we're always going to be on the last Friday of the month. Just try and get a bunch of stuff done. The things that people... care about.
The Amazing Rewatch: Anything else? Four favorites. No. I don't... No. Cece's birthday is in fall, so is Jeff's birthday.

The Amazing Rewatch: Um... Yeah. So, okay. What am I like? obsessed with right now.
The Amazing Rewatch: The only thing that I can think of that's like... I'm doing a lot of is watching Poldark. Mm hmm. End. Trying to keep up with all the TV shows. you're You're into your sewing. And you're. cross stitch and yeah like i'm at work and i'm like i really wish i could go home and cross stitch right now Um.
The Amazing Rewatch: I'm fixated on... i'm I'm listening to this. podcast it's called hot history Hmm. And she, through the month of September, she did seven episode deep dives into the Romanovs.
The Amazing Rewatch: Oh. It's really interesting. I would love that. And she did good. Sometimes she's a little bit, like, cheesy. Hmm. Because she's like. hot like modern day hot and like brings modern day words into like history She's like, okay, divas.
The Amazing Rewatch: And so, but. she it's really good and there's like a lot of really good information and sources and So. Fascinating. Yeah. So fixated on that. Okay.
The Amazing Rewatch: okay And I just... re -listen to the first ACOTAR and The second one. Because isn't there a new one coming out soon? there's like two new ones. So they already have, that's right three they already have five.
The Amazing Rewatch: And the sixth one's coming out in October and the seventh one in January, I think. And... There's like so many things that were like popping up on my for you page of. these fan theories and stuff and I'm like What?
The Amazing Rewatch: what did that happen who is that what's that person's name i don't even remember that like i just flew through them so fast the first time around and i'm like i you need to go through them again So.

The Amazing Rewatch: Crafty stuff. Like when me and Jeff first got married, like I bought a ton of craft supplies and I was like, I'm going to make homemade. wreaths and I am going to make a recipe book. I still want to do that actually of like the recipes that I...
The Amazing Rewatch: use a lot so that I don't have to keep going back to Pinterest. mm -hmm Um. So I bought like a binder and like cute paper and markers and...
The Amazing Rewatch: then I just... Don't do it. And like all my craft supplies just sit. yeah i'm like it's way easier just to buy stuff craft supplies are expensive so by the time you like buy everything to make a thing it's just easier to buy the thing Yeah.

The Amazing Rewatch: Meticulously. Designed. photo albums from 2014 when we got married to... 2017 so that's like Three or four. I don't know. And then we got to 2000. 18.
The Amazing Rewatch: And... I was. I was waiting for pictures of your wedding. Mhm. And so I couldn't finish 2018's book. And then...

The Amazing Rewatch: But the problem is now is that like a lot of the pictures are on a computer that. doesn't even work anymore. So I have to like. I can still like get the pictures off the hard drive.
The Amazing Rewatch: But... I don't want to do that. That's a lot of work. But it's nice to be able to like look at pictures. Yeah. so Anyway, but yeah, like when I would sit there and design, I would like.
The Amazing Rewatch: drag every little picture to the exact thing and i'm like there's probably a way Less stressful way to do this. If you were doing that in 2014. Or 2017? 2018.
The Amazing Rewatch: And now it's 2026, I bet. If you got on there, it'd be like. way. Way easier. like AI would probably just like design pages. yeah like within the Shutterfly program or whatever, you know? Yeah.
The Amazing Rewatch: Did you think of anything? Of former fixations? Mm -hmm.
The Amazing Rewatch: not really I do get into a lot of like crafts and hobbies and stuff like that but I heard the term like a hobby whore. I've done like every single thing. But I come back to them.
The Amazing Rewatch: Like, I... was really into cross -stitching when I was pregnant with Olivia. And I've come back to it. And I already have all the things. Yeah. and yeah yeah like the things that i buy and then they just like hang out for a while and then i get back to them but You...
The Amazing Rewatch: There's just not enough time in the day to do all the things you want to do.
The Amazing Rewatch: For real.
The Amazing Rewatch: And like by the end of the day when I actually have time to... do something i'm like i just want to scroll on my phone and watch tv and Turn my brain off. Mm hmm. But there's some of the stuff like you cross stitch while you watch TV and, you know, so there's some things that you can do. at the same time Yeah.

The Amazing Rewatch: as I wouldn't even call it a waitress. I don't even know. It's just at Wheeler's. Driving. Like a server. but behind that Yeah. Uh, Order taker slash ice cream maker.

There wasn't a lot of. action, especially on like a Saturday when I had to work. like from like eight to six like sometimes i would have to do like a full day on saturday and i'd get 15 people in the whole day. Yeah. Like.
The Amazing Rewatch: I... Read a lot. I did a lot of homework Mm hmm. The radio was always on. There are like still songs that. When I hear them, I'm like, oh.
The Amazing Rewatch: I am taken back to Bexado right now. Yeah. It was a good job to have those so close to home though. Yeah, it was like two blocks from my house and I would still drive almost every time.

The Amazing Rewatch: Oh. And so I'd have to like. go out and like put the sign up and be like out of order or whatever. And so. Then like a - you know. A couple of weeks later. Shay's mom called the gas station. She's like, do you have gas? And I'm like. I thought she was like...
The Amazing Rewatch: Like asking about my digestion. tos Just as a joke. And I'm like, what? Did you know it was her? Yeah. Anyway, that's funny.
The Amazing Rewatch: and What was your first? Flight. We probably had the same one. I don't remember. When we went to Disneyland in 1998. Yeah. I don't remember. Southwest Airlines. I remember specifically asking for gum because I heard that it makes it so that your ears don't pop.
The Amazing Rewatch: Or... It helps your ears pop softer. I remember wearing that. That. Track suit. I remember the tracksuit, yeah. Yep. these tracksuits guys were Mine was...
The Amazing Rewatch: Like. Emerald green with... red and pink and white like block Designs. They were. Very 90s. Yeah.
The Amazing Rewatch: They're very cute they were sadie's was like pink and purple wasn't it yeah like a dark blue pink purple. So cute. Yep. yeahp ah That was our first trip to Disneyland.
The Amazing Rewatch: And then we went to Disneyland again that same year. So we went the very first time. Very first time in February of 90... eight i'm pretty sure And then we went in October of 98. And then we didn't go again.
The Amazing Rewatch: Until. 2000.
The Amazing Rewatch: Five. Really? Yeah we didn't go again until I was a junior in high school. Huh. And I was in third grade when we were... went first. Maybe. So maybe it was like 97.
The Amazing Rewatch: Crazy. Seems like we went more than that. Yeah, there was like a big gap. And then after that, we went. Like almost every couple of years. And then now as adults, we've. Like probably ah once a year we go. Yeah. At least.
The Amazing Rewatch: So. Yeah. so I know Olivia is six and she's already been. Three times. Yeah. oop That's alright. I'm happy to do that. Because I like... Go on.
The Amazing Rewatch: Great. it's for me and for them What was your first concert? I think the Colby Kelly concert at 2 o 'clock. Mm.
The Amazing Rewatch: I think that I think I remember that being the first one. I, mine was Tim and Faith. And it was so good. It's a good first. Fun.

The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah. And it depends. And also there was like a concert coming up in December that we were like. Maybe interested and then we found out that you have to stand the whole time. Yeah. We're like, no, we're not going to go. No.
The Amazing Rewatch: Is that the Kip Moore one? Kip Moore. Yeah. Because we've been. Better not. Yeah. We've been together, like us four, like mom and sisters. And it was really fun. And then we were like, oh, he's coming to Utah again. Oh.

The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah. I'm trying to even think of the last concert I went to. Oh I went to that train concert. um A few weeks ago. That actually was good. It was a good show. There's times where like when you go to concerts you're not expecting and it's a surprise how good it was. Like I went to Imagine Dragons once. I've seen Imagine Dragons. They were so yeah good. Yeah.
The Amazing Rewatch: It's like... You get pleasantly surprised sometimes. Yeah. Um. I really liked John Mayer's concert too. Unfortunately, like ah it's sad that he's not a very good person. Yeah. But.

The Amazing Rewatch: Where you played tapes. And then I got the Schneider Twain CD or tape to go with it. Virtual. $25. um Yeah, maybe. Huh? Or like it maybe it covered most of it.
The Amazing Rewatch: and then A little bit extra, but. I remember I would walk around because we lived right across the street from. the church. And. I would. Put.
The Amazing Rewatch: I would put my headphones in on that little Walkman and I would just walk around the church parking lot for hours and just listen to that tape. really I don't know why I couldn't do it at home.
The Amazing Rewatch: Even in the winter. Like I remember just like walking up on like the snow banks that they would like pile up and just like wandering in the parking lot and listening to me. to chena That's really funny because you probably think of it as like I was doing that for hours. and You probably weren't even doing it for that long.
The Amazing Rewatch: i don't know It felt like all day. Our, uh... Our phone. Our house phone used to... like our wireless house phone. would reach like the end of the far end of the church parking lot and so when I would like talk to my friends on the phone I'd walk around the church parking lot yeah we had a lot of fun in the church parking lot on bikes and scooters and and there was like a grassy area like right across the street from us that we would play you know, soccer and kickball and.
The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah, we were there a lot. We. Played at the church a lot. Because we had there, it was like the church. Um. And then. right around the corner of the parking lot of the church we had like our little neighborhood friends that we were like all best friends and they were all the same age as us And it was so fun. It was such a fun. Little quarter to grow up on.

The Amazing Rewatch: Okay, well maybell But I see you all the time. I know. We can play games. yeah i taught I taught Sadie and Georgie and our mom how to play Mahjong on our trip. I saw how you can play mahjong with two people.
The Amazing Rewatch: Oh, yeah? Sweet kid. We could do it. But... Yeah, I brought it up and everybody's like, okay. I was like... well Nobody seems that interested so maybe I'll make it happen again next year. next January.
The Amazing Rewatch: we'll see what happens Um. Yeah. I went to a Dolly Parton themed Mahjong night a couple nights ago and it was so fun. Yeah.
The Amazing Rewatch: that They played Dolly Parton music and everybody was dressed in like glittery denim. and And there was probably like 300 people there. Just like all playing Mahjong in groups of four.
The Amazing Rewatch: Hmm. And they gave away prizes and they had... There's little snacks and drinks. and They earned money or they they were raising money to bring Dolly Parton's like imagination library to Utah. So.
The Amazing Rewatch: That's cool. A worthy cause and a fun night. And I even won one round. Nice. And I played against people that play all the time. Yeah. So I was proud of myself that I won one. so Nice.
The Amazing Rewatch: It was fun. That's my new fixation, I guess. Marshawn? Yes. That's a good one. And I would like to buy a set, but they're expensive. Yeah. So it's like. Is this going to be?

You could... just turn it into like just keep it going with your friends it is kind of like a trend right now with a fad right now but yeah People have been playing it in China for a long time. The Amazing Rewatch: So. Um, What was I going to say though? Oh, yeah. Because, like... Pickleball. It's going to start getting too cold to play pickleball. And we usually play with that on Monday nights. So I'm like, maybe now.
