adampikefitness: Welcome back guys. Holy it's been a minute, but I got a lot to talk about and first things first I just want to apologize for being away. It's been a crazy summer. I've been enjoying myself and That's one of the things I want to talk about because I don't know if you're like me But I used to really beat myself up any time that I would actually enjoy myself. Now, what do you mean by that, Adam? Obviously, I enjoy having fun, le all living life, having life experiences, but me being a fitness fanatic, a fitness freak,
adampikefitness: I would often, you know, beat myself up if I wasn't going to the gym six days a week, or if I was on vacation and I was like doing a lot of drinking and it was a hungover and not eating right. I'd really get into my head ah like in those situations, right? Now, I also want to talk about a few other things because, um,
adampikefitness: ah Somebody wrote me and asked me what life was like ever since I quit my job and you know ah went full time online. But I'll dive into that later in the podcast. But I really want to get on this topic of being kind to yourself and not beating yourself up.
adampikefitness: So I'll just talk about, you know, you, you know, me, I always talk about my own experiences and hope that you guys will relate to it and be like, man, you know, I'm not the only one that goes to these things. So obviously me being a fitness freak, I go to the gym, you know, six, seven days a week. I try to eat healthy, but this summer has been wild. You know, I went on a ah full month vacation. I don't know if you guys were following along, but, um,
adampikefitness: you It was a very interesting one. But on that month vacation, I only worked out two times. once in a hotel gym for like 15 minutes, and another time I actually went to the gym, it was probably like 45 minutes. Normally, if I went that long without working out, I would be so in my head about it, I'd be just like constantly like repeating why I'm not going, oh, I'm losing muscle, all this and that, I'll have anxiety about it, you know?
adampikefitness: Um, you know, the guys just came here for Newfoundland and we, and we were basically drinking for a week straight. I never worked out the entire time. I was, you know, not getting a whole lot of sleep. I was eating out. I was eating takeout and normally I'd be really in my head about that, but it's, it's on to me the other day that.
adampikefitness: It didn't really bother me. And I was just like, you know what? Like, it's going to be all right, Adam. You're going to get back into a routine. You're going to start eating healthy again. And you're going to come out of this, you know, summer vacation stronger than ever.
adampikefitness: But like, I don't know what changed. I don't know if if if I just, you know, if it just comes with age and I grew up. I don't know if it's it's the micro dosing. I don't know if I just trained myself to just be okay with it, right? But like I said before, if I went on a on a full week with no workouts, eating like trash and and and drinking a lot,
adampikefitness: I would be like having anxiety about this and like i thought it was the end of the world and and and ah you know i was just i would go back to the gym probably doing like two with days right now the reason why i'm telling this cuz i know that there's a lot of us that really.
adampikefitness: we'll beat ourself up, especially if we're following like a fitness plan. And you know maybe we're following a diet, and then we have those one or two nights where you know we didn't get our workouts in. we we never We never struck our macros. We ate too much. We ate a bag of chips. like Some of us will really beat ourself up over that. And listen, guys, majority of us, we're not Olympic athletes.
adampikefitness: We're not ah we're not pro bodybuilders unless unless you're like ah like a One of those or a pro athlete or or something along those lines. I don't think it really matters to be honest I don't think it really matters as long as we are healthy and And we really don't go overboard with with this, right? Now, what do I mean by going overboard? is you know if if If you start to you know eat a couple bags of chips, you have a night of drinking, that turns into a week, that turns into a month, that turns into six months.
adampikefitness: and that turns into a year where you're not working out, and you're eating like trash, and you're not getting much sleep, and you're not taking care of your health. If you're gonna do that for a full year, you're gonna put on weight, you're gonna feel like shit, and that's gonna take a toll on your mental health, I tell you that. So like, when you do things in moderation, you know, you have a couple nights here and there, you go on vacation, your friends are home, whatever it is,
adampikefitness: It's fine. It's fine. You're going to come back. You're going to get back into routine and everything's going to be all right. So yeah, I just want to talk about that because it's something that I used to struggle with. Something that I used to deal with um was just always beating myself up and you know like having a day where you're kind of just relaxing and sitting on the couch. I didn't know how to do that. I didn't know how to sit still and actually just relax. And a lot of people don't, but you know I think it just comes with
adampikefitness: getting your mental game very strong to be able to do that, right? And for me, I i do believe that because of really been, you know, with the micro dosing and working on my mental game.
adampikefitness: I'm now able to enjoy life and you know not go to the gym and be okay in my mind about it. right um ah I guess before I wasn't really mentally strong and I just really thought that if I never went to the gym for six days out of the week, oh my God, I'm going to lose everything.
adampikefitness: That's just me being insane in my mind, right? But I feel like just over over the last couple of years working on my mind, I'm at a point now where You know, I don't beat myself up like that. I don't really get anxiety to the, you know, like, you know, the anxiety you have the next day when, when you're, when you're hungover and you're like in your head about it and you're like, Oh my God, like I, I ate all this bad food. Oh my God. Like I was drinking so much. Oh, I feel like trash. I can't go to to the gym today. Ah, it's really not that big a deal.
adampikefitness: It's really not that big a deal. Trust me, just enjoy the the memories that you just made and just move on with your life. Take a little rest day, get hydrated, spend the day just like eating the right food, replenish your body. And in a couple days,
adampikefitness: You're going to be fine, right? Um, maybe you guys don't deal with this. Maybe, maybe you're listening. You're like, this guy's insane because I don't not deal with that. I don't know. But there's definitely some people out here that, you know, beats themselves up about this type of stuff. And I just want to talk about it because, you know, um,
adampikefitness: You don't have to be like that, but that, that takes you working on your mind and actually like being in control of those things. Cause when you let anxiety take control of you, it takes you to a lot of weird places, man. It takes you to a lot of weird places and we don't want that. Now I want to get into what I was asked on Instagram the other day. Somebody asked me, what is your life like since you quit your job and you know, went out on your own?
adampikefitness: And I know I talked about this stuff before, but like, it's been about what? I actually don't know how how long it's been. Maybe two and a half years, maybe three years since I've worked out at Long Harbor. And ah life has been different. Life has been different. I'll just give you, I'll just run you through a little recap. So like when I first left Long Harbor, honestly, I was just working for Microsoft and didn't really know what I was doing.
adampikefitness: ah tried I tried the online like fitness, like doing like meal plans and and fitness plans and all that stuff. And then I kind of turned it into more like a lifestyle, feel good, be happy type of thing. But it never really kind of filled my soul if if if that makes any sense, right?
adampikefitness: So then I kind of like dove into Microsoft and a little bit more, right? Um, they kind of, you know, made a position there for me. I started doing in the, the, uh, the wellness challenges and stuff like that. But obviously like, where am I making my money? Right? So I actually got into a world of working for multiple different agencies. So basically,
adampikefitness: I do a lot of like online creating of what you see that I do on my own page, but I do it for other companies. and i basically you know ah they They send me a script. ah Maybe they don't even send me a script. They just kind of ask me if I could do this sort of video for their company.
adampikefitness: So then I kind of check out their page, check out their products, whatever. um They'll obviously send me the products for free and then I'll just create a video around their brand and then I send it to them and then they do whatever they want with it.
adampikefitness: um and then they pay me once I finish the video. I didn't even know that this world existed. Just by chance, this is the power of social media. I want to dive into this because it's so wild. I always worked trades. I always worked trades. I knew that I liked creating. I knew that I liked making videos.
adampikefitness: And I knew that, you know, I would really like to do that, but I didn't know that I could make the money that I'm making now. So just because of TikTok, that's how Microsibon found me. I made this stupid, stupid TikTok where it was like, oh, when you take too much mushrooms and then there was a filter on there and my my face melted, right? Microsibon found me because of that.
adampikefitness: three years later, I've been working with them ever since. You guys know how much I work, you know I post for Microsoft and whatnot. That blows my mind just just because of TikTok. So like you really never know. You really never know like who's watching and what you're going to get yourself into just by being open to to posting on social media. um So then when I kind of got into the microsiber thing, you know, my my whole Instagram page kind of transitioned into, you know, me sitting down in front of the mic doing the talking type videos, you know what I'm talking about, right?
adampikefitness: So from those type of videos this this agency reach out to me and she's like i just watch one of your videos i like the flow of your your talking right i like how you speak um i i really do think that you'd be a great creator for us would you would you like to know more information i'm like.
adampikefitness: Well, shit, I'm like, ah yeah, I actually like I just quit my job. I i think this would be great. um so So just from me like getting into that sort of like, ah sort of content, like sitting down and like that this person obviously heard me talking, that that created this new position.
adampikefitness: For for this agency, so I signed on with them right and then the more I kind of got into this world of You know content creation and obviously um You know other agencies and other brands were we're seeing me um Being like an ad video like you everyone sees these these sponsored ad videos, right? So basically that that's what I do Um, you know, companies will send me a script. Like I just said, um, once I'm done with it, they take it and they run it out as an ad and they promote their brand. But like, I, I, I got paid for it. Right. So then once I started with, with this one agency, then other agencies started to reach out to me because, you know, have I not left long Harbor? This would have never probably been a thing.
adampikefitness: It would have never been a thing. I wasn't posting as much at Long Harbor. um You know, on my days off, sometimes I would just post like, you know, Newfoundland things. When I was on hikes, so I posted like the fitness content. but up But I was never a guy to like sit down in front of the camera and do these talking videos or do a podcast like I'm doing now. So like, the reason why I'm telling you all this right now,
adampikefitness: is I know that there's a lot of us that you know we wanna do something else. We're working at a job, we wanna do something else with our life. Maybe you know what you wanna do with your life or maybe you know you could do this other side hustle. Maybe you don't need to leave your job. Maybe you got time for a side hustle and you know you wanna do it but you just don't do it because you're just overthinking it and you're scared of doing it.
adampikefitness: nothing's ever gonna change in your life if if you don't actually do something different, right? Now, like for me, because I left my job, they opened up a lot more free time in my life, which got me into microcybin, you know, then I got in contact with eons, um and all these all these brands just start reaching out, but then I got into this other world of like,
adampikefitness: these agencies sending me a different type of videos. And then that like, you know, I got one agency where there's the stream of income coming in. I got another agency sending me a different types of types of videos. Um, so now I'm working for multiple agencies, right? And then I'm also working with micro Simon and, uh, it's been three years and it's like, wow, like shit, this is insane. Now,
adampikefitness: Since I've been doing this, you know, um the money has been decent. I'm not going to sit here and tell you like I'm making a shitload of money because that's not the case. But I do. I have gotten into contact with people that's doing this type of stuff.
adampikefitness: And there is so much money in this, in this like field of work. So like you have your people that has, you know, a hundred thousand followers. Well, brands will pay you like five grand, six grand, seven grand, whatever it is to to do a video, but.
adampikefitness: What I was just explaining about the agencies and like when you work for different types of agencies, all you need to be good at is just basically creating content. You don't need a following. Like there's people that that ah that I work with myself and they have three, 400 followers.
adampikefitness: but they're making ten grand a month because they're just good at what they do basically it's just like if you if you could actually sit on the camera and basically like read the script, but also like do a little bit of acting. If you're good at that, companies will want you. Companies will will want you to do you know brands with them. The agencies are the ones that kind of reach themselves and gets all the brands and all that stuff.
adampikefitness: by Yeah, it's it's it's so's so mind -blowing to me to even think that I'm even doing this right now. But anybody can do it, that's the thing. I wasn't always good at creating content. I wasn't always good at editing videos. I wasn't always good at sitting in front of the mic and talking and be able to to just have things come at me and like just have it flow, right? Before it was like um and ah's. I still do that, but when you practice something you're gonna get good at it and the reason why i'm telling you this is because you might want to do something and if you just don't spend time doing that you're never going to do it you know you know ah ah some of you gamers out there you guys are probably amazing at gaming
adampikefitness: Just imagine if you spent time sitting in front of a camera, just setting up a camera and getting good at your commentary and good getting good at editing. How much money could you make just from doing what you love to do, but also having a mic and a camera there in front of you and just posting things to YouTube.
adampikefitness: There's so many ways that we could literally make money from our phone nowadays. Look, you have zero excuses of being broke in today's world. You just have to actually apply action and do something and stick with it, right? Because have I not left Long Harbor? I still would have been at Long Harbor. I wouldn't have had any of these other things going on and I would have been hating my life, you know? So yeah I'm just obviously, yeah you know, that about that question, how's your life now? I'm very grateful. I'm very grateful to be doing what I'm doing. I definitely have a lot more freedom. um i I get to be home.
adampikefitness: I get to to do things. I don't really have to you know bow my head to somebody every day and and have someone towering over me. like It's just me.
adampikefitness: and I get to decide like how much work I wanna do. obviously Obviously, I need to continue to to like build these partnerships. You don't just get a partnership with somebody and you just die off and don't do anything and expect them to just continue wanting to work. You gotta continue to show up for these people and keep getting better and better at what you do. But once you're kinda in whatever field it is you are,
adampikefitness: There's just going to be more and more and more opportunities kind of come to you once you just put yourself out there into that world. So anyways, I hope you took something from this video um or this video, this podcast. it's It's been a minute since I'd done one. Well, I tell you one thing. I do want to get back into it. I want to be doing one at least one a week, um, covering different topics and stuff about life. Um,
adampikefitness: because I enjoy, it I enjoy doing this. And I know that there's there's some of you guys that that listen to this and you might take something from it. So um all I'm saying is don't beat yourself up about things. Really work on yourself, you know, i really work on your mind, getting control of your anxiety and your overthinking and all of that.
adampikefitness: and put yourself out there. If you want to do something, you've been thinking about doing something, just go do it. But you're never ever going to be able to do what you want to do. If you're stuck letting anxiety, letting overthinking, beating yourself up. If you're letting all these things control you and your life,
adampikefitness: you're never going to actually take action and do something that you really enjoy to do. so You guys have a good day. I hope you enjoyed this podcast.
