Speaker: a significant recap? Yes. um Yeah, I mean, I remember the most Delulu Omega on the planet somehow thought he was an alpha, um despite being incredibly tiny and the most Omega-coded Omega there's ever been. um and then, i don't know, some...
Speaker: Asshole Alpha got all obsessed with him He got pregnant when it was only a little bit in and then and then he later, i think, got nodded, but then was sick the next day and found out that that's not when he got pregnant. He was already pregnant. And then...
Speaker: And then, and then, and then he basically, he didn't want the baby, but the alpha said he would pay him to carry the baby and then have the baby.
Speaker: And if i and then was it, I don't even remember. Was it before that? At some point he tried to run away. Oh my gosh. Oh yeah. So then he had the baby and he ran away. He didn't even look at the baby. I'm like, what order did everything happen? Ran away without the baby, which I'm sorry, I'm sticking up for Omega's rights to choose. He said he didn't want the baby. um But then yeah, he ran away and we found out that the Alpha's best friend was hiding him. Correct me if I make any mistakes.
Speaker: No, you're perfectly on track. And then they're both like sick and feeling awful, but he's still trying to get away. But eventually the alpha catches up to him. And then that's when we found out they were like secretly bonded And they didn't know. And so they were literally dying being apart.
Speaker: And then they just decided to be a family, right? Pretty much. Yeah, basically. So I'd be a family. And then as we left it, I know they were meeting the Alpha's family.
Speaker: And they weren't being too cool. as i remember were the family being cool? Was it mixed? kind of and It was mixed. It was the dad that was being upset because of the son. Yeah. Yeah. but everyone else was like, oh my god, baby. Yeah, everyone else was excited. And then and then it ended with the Alpha of proposing to the Omega and we don't know what happened.
Speaker: Yes, that's exactly where we left off. Yes! oo Season 2 is quite long. um Reminders for listeners, I've read this but a long time ago, so I might have some annoying inserts. Also, I like this to the side stories better than the main story, so I might have a lot to say.
Speaker: i love the side stories more than main stories. It feels like I have never read this before, but it was literally probably one of my first ones, so Yeah, it like it was early for me too. don't even realize that a lot of how I view the Omegaverse is based on Loves and Illusion.
Speaker: Yes. So it's really good to revisit a classic series. And without further ado, let's dive right in. Let's jump right in. I'm all ears.
Speaker: So, okay. We left off with the proposal. Yeah. Which is such a great way to n a season, but also to you start a season.

I was just curious. i've I've always got my mind on the baby.
Speaker: You know, yeah that's a good point I was like, where is the baby? Was he holding the baby? Because i remember, okay, so back in season one, when our Alpha found our Omega again, he was running with the baby, i like strapped his chest.
Speaker: I don't know. I was more distracted by the family watching it. Like, Chase is Omega. He's like, wow, you got knocked up and rejected. cool So they have like a moment, dadada but a cool thing is when they get back to the house, they're talk, you know, they're heated, not like in a sexual way, but like, oh, what the fuck? Emotions are going cri wild.
Speaker: The baby, Buell, is reacting to it. And they're like, what the fuck's going on? so they realize he's reacting to the parents pheromones meaning he's probably a dominant as well and mean what better way to find out that your child's a dominant other than you know when you're arguing about this proposal and like um So actually didn't really take notes too much right here because it was just like a lot of talking.
Speaker: But one insignificant thing is Dojin, he didn't like his family's response. Mainly his dad. Like him and his dad, they have like some weird beef.
Speaker: So he's like, you know what? If they're not going to accept you, they're not my family anymore.

Speaker: If they're not going to accept you with open arms, fuck them. So that kind of tells you how are how our alpha is. Which, not a surprise coming up to this point.
Speaker: Yeah. You know, not of his. That was kind of cool. It was. And he's, you know, he's said he claims that Heesung and Beul are the only family that he needs.
Speaker: And so he cut out his family. He's going to make his own like living and stuff. So I'm like, you know what? It takes a lot. But then again, he's like the third second or third son. So he's not even like the heir.
Speaker: I believe he's the, because I recently, I always have to remind myself because there's a mystery child, but he's the third son, the fourth child. Yes. Because the oldest brother does not matter.
Speaker: I remember I read the whole thing and I was like, where did the kid and the teenager come from? And it was like recent. I saw a meme that was like, ah there's an oldest brother. Those are his kids. I was, when I was reading it, was like, who the fuck?
Speaker: Because there's little kids around a lot. There's a little kid. and i was like There's a little kids are around. They wear the I love Buell shirt. Well, he...
Speaker: ah well he The next scene is going to be him having to do something for work. So he hires a babysitter naturally for his wifey and child.
Speaker: Well, he leaves. He sounds like, hey, you actually don't need to come. So he cancels the babysitter because guess what he does?
Speaker: He goes to the house with Beul. Hit Dojin's family's house.
Speaker: Guess what? No one expected this. Cause you know, ah Omega with poor background coming with a They're like, oh, his Omega's here. Like, what the fuck do we do?
Speaker: The grandfather actually has such a soft spot for both of them. He was the one that was an asshole, right? He was an asshole. And when his his family was trying to contact Dojin to like, hey, go visit dad because, you know, he's in the hospital and stuff. He's like, he's just being fucking dramatic. He's the one that rejected my Omega.
Speaker: oh But like he his dad was like having images in his head about like the Omega and the baby. Not like sexual images, but more of like endearing.
Speaker: So now that the grandfather sees them again, he has a soft spot. He's like playing with Bial and he tells him to come visit again.
Speaker: um all of them, not but not his own son. has a soft spot. ah Okay. And I'm like, oh, okay. So grandfather wants, he's talking to Beal to this a lot more, but not Dojin. And I'm like, you know, valid, very fucking valid.
Speaker: so he's a, he's a doting grandfather. That's what's revealed. Then he was playing with Beal when Dojin walks in and he's like, what the what the fuck am I looking at?
Speaker: Yeah. but And everyone's just like, dude, you're the problem here. Which... We've been saying this since day one. Literally.
Speaker: But then again, going down the family tree, he is spoiled. he's Is he the youngest? Yeah, he's the youngest. He's ah he's a baby, so of course. by a lot, too. Yeah.
Speaker: Because his like the age gap older brother is 12 years? Yeah. And he's the second youngest. Yeah. So he's... The sister, I want to say, is like 14 years older. And then the older brother's like... six I think they're all like ah close... Like, you know, within a few years of each other.
Speaker: Yeah, he's like... Surprise baby. Yeah, search for sure. Omega's going to menopause. He's like the menopause baby. Yes, that's a great way to put it. Because I was like... They they have like this weird relationship with him. But it's like cute and endearing. But also you could tell he's rap.
Speaker: yeah anywho the grandfather gives he's on a black card his black card and tells him to call him dad and then the mom chimes in beyond like call me mom as well they don't on the omega which is completely like mind you back just a few chapters ago they were like really indifferent to him but now they're like oh my god this is our child we never had gosh dojian's like what the actual fuck i'm your actual son and they're like no no here our son's right here this pretty little mega like this family has a soft spot for omegas and a soft spot for abil so they want him to finish school because you know he dropped down high school
Speaker: And he might be great at math, but he sucks at everything else. Can't relate. know, I'm like the opposite. I'm like, what's two plus two?

Because, I mean, going all the way back to, like, chapter, what, three or four, he almost got s scammed.

Speaker: where they left off a little. Because now we're going to be jumping back and forth between more side stories. So, back.
Speaker: back to the money that he sue borrowed because he he borrowed money to ship our mega off and even though that didn didn't work out he returned the money

Speaker: And it really starts to introduce the brother more because the brother is also like looking at the Omega, like, how did he fall in love with this recessive?

Speaker: I'm like, oh my God. Thankfully, oldest brother's barely in it. I don't remember his name, but I know it's like a letter off. Yeah. I'm just like, dude, I, why?
Speaker: you just like mix up the names a little? but I think it's that kind of a common tradition though in Korea to give siblings like at least the first syllable the same. I think so.
Speaker: But it's really hard in BL. Yeah. Because like when it's translated over, it's literally one letter. Like doujin, doujun. Yeah. Yeah. Like an I and a u And I'm like, oh my god. have to remember who's who.
Speaker: Well, he's also an alpha. And Hisu calls him master. So he's master, whereas doujin's little. like I was say little master. Sorry. Gave her a tag. Young master. Little master. Yeah.

Speaker: And i'm like, oh, okay. This older brother, he has a soft spot. like him more than his younger brother. yeah a lot.
Speaker: And then, so he's like, you know, having this sweet moment. But then the older brother's like, I don't think you need worry about the marriage because they're not getting married. And he's like, what the fuck you mean they're not getting married?
Speaker: um he's pissed to find out that the Omega rejected the young brother from the whole family. Like, he went from this emo, like, sobbing beta to, gonna fucking kill him!
Speaker: and So, as, like, the older brother's, like, taking it back, he's like, turn this car around, you're dropping me off to their place. And he he does. He goes and and fucking fights our bottom. And I'm like, oh, he's back to his spicy self. He's like, how the, why the fuck did you reject his proposal? And I'm like, you know what?
Speaker: He is invalid for that. He is so fucking real to be like, dude, you got one fucking job is to say yes. Look, i'm I'm standing by it. I support Omega's rights and wrongs.
Speaker: I do too But I also support Arbeta Bestie. Yeah, yeah. um merbatdo I don't remember any of this, so I'm excited to see how this plays out. I remember the endgame.
Speaker: i don't remember all this. and See, that's why i was like, it felt like I was reading a brand new series again. I'm like, holy shit, it's been a while. But yeah so he he's literally like in their house yelling at her Omega like, why the fuck?
Speaker: Oh my gosh. um Beta bestie for a reason. We all need one. and then the next scene is still a hem fighting our Omega.
Speaker: About how dumb he is. He's like, the fuck are you good at math, but literally so dumb in everything else? So they're going back and forth arguing And, you know, the younger brother's watching. He's like, okay, like, how endearing. Like, my bestie and then my Omega, like, getting along.
Speaker: They suddenly go quiet as they're whispering. And, like, you have these two feisty ass bitches. Suddenly, like, they're whispering to each other. Like, is that not suspicious?
Speaker: Yeah, they're not. Well... Nisang is thinking he's about to go into heat again. So he's just like, you didn't tell him about that one time, right? And he's like, why the fuck would I tell him that he helped you? Like, I don't want to get on the live. Like, no, no, no. That stays between us. Oh my god. And then so, of course, with them going quiet, our alpha like walks over and he's like, hey guys. We were mine listeners, just in case, you know, it might have been a minute since they listened to the last episode. What was that one time?
Speaker: When Arbeta was hiding our Omega from the Alpha, Arbeta went into heat. And he's like, I should not be going to heat. It's only been two months since I've been pregnant.
Speaker: And he's he was begging Arbeta to help him. So yeah, Arbeta was like touching our Omega. he gave a friend a hand. Literally.

Speaker: And so he gets like in this weird heat trance. He's in that trance again because he pulls out his phone and takes a picture of his alpha inserted in him. What?

Speaker: Uh, Now it's going to jump back to the older brother. So let's go back to episode one for a moment. There is that spray that our Omega sprayed on himself to make himself smell like an alpha that was produced by this family.
Speaker: So the older brother is actually researching a beta pheromone perfume.
Speaker: Which is really interesting because he has he did the Alpha one and the Omega one. He's like, Betas are obsessed with Alphas and Megas. And he's quite knowledgeable on Betas.

Speaker: They start seeing each other, like, casually, like, kind of like fuck buddies a little bit more. they it feels more like a relationship, but, like, there's not an official title to it. The older brother actually is confused because he loses control when he's around this beta, and he just wants to be inside him at all times.

Speaker: Hesang actually sees Dojin's parents being lovey-dovey and inspired him to get married. He's like, I want to be like that. i want to be all cute. And I'm like, oh, whoa, where did this come from?
Speaker: And so you remember, he's one that rejected the proposal. was up to our- Megas rights to change their minds. Literally. And that's what happened. He did change his mind. He's like, I want that.
Speaker: I'm like, you know what? Yeah, he's going on with full force. He goes up to our alpha here. He's like, I'm going to grant you the privilege. I will marry you. And I'm like, yes!
Speaker: Know your worth. yes um mind you once again his parents love them they bought him a new house oh for crying out loud and they're not even married ah wow so i'm like oh okay um and as they say like oh yeah we're getting married daddada he asks the alpha's parents can i still call you mom and dad
Speaker: The mom says he'll always be their baby son. Oh my goodness. Which is so fucking cute. But then our alpha over here is like, please don't fucking say that. That sounds like we're brothers. And I'm like, you know what? For once he has a point. Yeah, that's it's fine.
Speaker: oh And then cute scene is them trying on wedding outfits. And our Omega's like, I'm not gonna wear white. He looks fucking great in white. So he ends up in white, but...
Speaker: They also had him turn on a dress, like a wedding dress. Our alpha whipped. Everyone i looked over, he's just like whipped to get his man in a dress. And of course, our poor little mega gets like flustered. He's like, die you know, going on his little feisty. Chihuahua syndrome. Yes, that's exactly that. He's little chihuahua.
Speaker: Well, I'll put a dress on too. He's like, okay. yeah And I'm like, respect. Fucking respect. That's like one of the great things about Omegaverse though is like those gender roles not ever being as solid.
Speaker: Exactly. They're like, I'll wear fucking dress. Like, yeah. Whatever. like, yeah. Or being like called a bride or wife and stuff. It's not like a bad term.
Speaker: yeah what's many Like I said, I but based a lot of my original Omegaverse knowledge on this. And so I thought a lot more of them would call them ah males, mom and wife and stuff. But I don't know if I've read any others that do.

He's in a... spot in life that he never thought he'd be in and especially seeing his brother's wedding he wants to spend more time with Yisu they practically live together at this point like he finds this beta so irresistible and adorable so he makes the executive decision to move out the family house and that freaks the whole family out because they're like did you get a girlfriend?
Speaker: why are you moving out? hold up, what's going on here? And he's like trying to be sly about it. Like, I don't know. I just, it's closer to work and stuff. I'm like, dude, just fucking, just fucking say you have a man.
Speaker: This is where we do find out about their 12 year age gap. Cause he's like kind of trying to find a balance between them. Like, would he like this place? dot at da So there's that.
Speaker: But drum roll. so the ex is back and like, so our older brother's like trying to figure out his life. He's like, yeah, going move out.
Speaker: This beta I'm seeing. ah he's so fucking adorable. I want to be with him at all times. No, his fucking demon came back.

Speaker: Oh. Hold up. Oh. According to Google, our male lead is about 26 or 27 years old when the series starts. Our male lead?
Speaker: Like the Omega? Yeah. Oh, no, like the... No, no, no, no. The male lead, so... The Alpha? The Alpha. Yeah. He's 26? According to Google, it says he's about 26 or 27.
Speaker: As the story starts, Armega's 20. Yeah, I knew that. I knew was a little older. his brother's in his late Yeah, okay, I did know the brother because I know the sister's like 40-ish.
Speaker: Yeah, but I thought our alpha was probably like 23, 24. Yeah, I thought he was like 2 to 4 years older. I didn't realize he was that much older. Oh, interesting.
Speaker: Because now if you add that 26 plus a 12, that's 38. Yeah, he's almost 40. Okay, Damn! Maybe need to move on from the ages, but that's in so there's a lot of age gaps going on somewhere.
Speaker: Yeah, so then that means Chowan is somewhere in his 30s? Yeah, he has to be at least. even Even if now I'm definitely assuming he's quite a bit younger than his ex-husband. Yeah, He's still going to be quite a bit older than his second husband.
Speaker: Okay, I just quickly Googled it. It says he's apparently 31. So that fits. That puts him in the middle, yeah. Yeah. because So now we're assuming, you know, that it's been at least a year or two, so we're assuming the beta's like 22-ish? Yeah.
Speaker: yeah Yeah, because Buell's like a toddler now? or he's ah He's a toddler. Yeah. Well, it it's interesting because like, in Manwas, when your baby baby...
Speaker: They're like, oh, you're like 18 months. And you're like, how the fuck are you 18 months? Yeah. So he's like learning to kind of talk. So I would say probably within a year.
Speaker: Okay. Year and a half, two. So we're going to assume the betas. 22-ish? 22, 23? Okay. Damn, they draw them really well. And I do love having, like, a, so i I shouldn't say significantly older, but, like, you don't get anyone actually really in your 30s in a lot of BLs. I mean, I know you are now. Manwa does better than Manwa.
Speaker: Manwa does. Manga is a lot younger, but Manwa, I do like the older. That's part of what drew me to Manwa. There's a lot of stories about people in their early 30s. It makes me you feel comfortable. Yeah.
Speaker: Alright, let's continue. Yeah, actually, that was what I have, because the rest is just like little side stories, like more side stories. These are all side stories, by the way. So it just like dives more into um each of their stories, and I don't want to spoil anything else. So this is where I'm going to leave the final... I think where I'm going to be ending it off is like the final... There's like 10 chapters left.
Speaker: Oh, okay. Yeah. So are we doing a third part or? o I don't know. so Because you're not done with side stories, right?
Speaker: I'm not. Or you are. I chose to be done. So I ended my notes early because i feel like to get their dynamic in, you guys just really dive in.
Speaker: Oh, there's so much to these side stories. That's so much better than the fucking main stories. And there's like yeah more embarrassing stories, more like spicy scenes, little silly moments that build each couple up. Yeah.
Speaker: I just remember. So it's like I said, I forgot so much of things. I feel like I remember the like conclusion for each couple. So. I was leaving that open ended. Okay. Okay.
Speaker: I'm here for that. Yeah. Cause. Spoiler alert. I love a little like mystery. Yeah.
Speaker: And like we've discussed it before, there's a lot more to Love is an Illusion, you know, for those who know. So these the official side stories. But then we do have the one spinoff, The Queen. I'm going hold comments on that because we will be visiting that someday. And then, of course, I'm sure most of you listening know that right now, ongoing... Well, it actually might have just continued completed. I'm not sure. But we have um Superstar going on, too.
Speaker: Which is interesting. And that's why... I didn't want to come with a conclusion of the side stories because I would i wanted to like lead into Superstar.
Speaker: Okay. Okay. I like that. We'll discuss how we do that another day. But yeah, how do you feel about all these crazy side stories? Yeah, no, so like going into it, that's all I remember is that I loved the side stories more.
Speaker: I did like the main story, like when you retold it to me. I don't know. There was interesting things about it. Like said it's such an important like foundation to my own Omegaverse journey, even though I can't say I loved it the first time. But um no, i i I just found the side stories more interesting. i like that one of my early Like one of the earliest ones I've read did have that.
Speaker: I love that it covers everything. We got the beta and alpha. We got the alpha and the beta. We started with the basics. It really feels like the perfect Omegaverse 101 story all the way through. And they had so ah they had hinted... Well, no. We had that affair story with alpha and alpha. like They delved into different secondary genders.
Speaker: like They're pairing so well because you have... Like you said, like not only is it beta and omega, it's a dominant omega. It's beautiful dominant omega. and i do It's kind of sweet because especially you know I have never thought about it too much. It being called like love is an illusion. And I do very much love that one because we had this perfect dominant alpha and this perfect dominant omega. And they were married and it just wasn't right. They weren't in love. One was more than the other. It wasn't love. And then...
Speaker: You've got the dominant alpha that just finds this normal basic beta and there's just love. Yeah. And then his little brother found this fucking Omega on the streets. Right. He like he comes from this like perfect high class. like I think they own one third of Korea or something like in wealth and all.
Speaker: And then they're like, wow, this fucking rap. yeah like Yeah, that's my man right there You know it. Right? He's like, i'm white I chased that one down. You wouldn't even know what I went through.
Speaker: He's not even an adominant. He's a recessive. Recessive as fuck. He was so recessive he wasn't even supposed to get pregnant. Isn't that why... i don't We didn't really talk about it too much. Is it is it something to do with that why he was um became infertile?
Speaker: Yeah, so his uterus just... yeah He can't get preggy anymore. And so he's like, oh, we could do it raw. Yeah. And I'm like, you know what? Best of both worlds. They got a cute ass baby. And now they just do raw forever.
Speaker: A lot. I know throughout the series, they were like, how the fuck did he have a baby? Because like, that's how rare it is for a recessive to have a baby. And I'm like, you know, that's a good fucking question. Because they like, they basically had a baby what their first or second time.
Speaker: Like he got pregnant really early on. in time And like it wasn't even in all the way. Like there was, there was, I remember there was some crazy stuff going on. He did not get nodded. and And honestly, it might've had to do with the bond or something.
Speaker: True. if they were already bonded. Yeah. Could have like kind of emphasized it a little bit more, but yeah, his, he can't get pregnant anymore. I'd love to hear some of our listeners views on that or other theories and things.
Speaker: And also, like, i don't know. It's just, it's really interesting because they did tie a lot of knots for the stories.
Speaker: All right. So you having relived it, um i know starting, we both kind of said this wasn't our favorite. How how do you feel looking back now on your reread? And then you've been just telling it to me, to us.
Speaker: cringe so hard rereading it. Okay. The main story, but then I got over it and I'm like, as we kept talking, this is such a good introduction to the Omegaverse. Like if I, I have a lot of favorites. This is not one of my favorites.
Speaker: Other than Buell. He's one of my favorite movies. There's a difference. But it really covers a lot. Where you're right. This is where I do know a lot of my Omegaverse knowledge. When it comes to like those secondary genders. When it comes to the hierarchy. And the fact that they did dive into like recessive and dominant. Because a lot of series, they don't really talk about that either. So it's just it's a really pretty picture. And they even us.
Speaker: us hey, you're lucky that this family loves Omegas because most families are not as open to Omegas, especially ah an Omega just with no background.
Speaker: Yeah. so I think that's more the issue. Yeah. Right? Because they I feel like they they wanted their son to marry the dominant Omega. Yeah, like a nice dominant Omega. And then they're like,
Speaker: who Who is he? And then they're like well shit we did tell him to get Omega. He came back with a baby. So like you you you overachieve technically. Right? What can you do? And he's like got him.
Speaker: Yeah how about you? They like baby trapped with the family. they They really did. Yeah, no, I mean, same thing. I kind of said it Yeah, exactly the same. I don't know that I'd want to sit down and reread the whole thing again. i believe I've reread some side stories before, um but something about this universe, like said, I finished it and I was like, I don't love it.
Speaker: I have the people make fun of me because I always go, I don't really like love and illusion. And then I'll sit there and just start giving them the whole like map of who's married to who, who loves who, who's the brother, who's the this, who's the that. And then it also can be enough that I kept going. I've i've read every Love is an Illusion story. Like said, we won't talk about it too much now because that will be coming at a later date. um And yeah, and every single one, I'll say there's a story that I hate. We will get there. And then there's there's still a story that I'm like, i don't know how I feel about this, but I keep reading them.
Speaker: Yeah. It's not like horrible where it's like, I'm never going to touch this again. Because we all have those series where we're like, nope. Like, yeah one and done. I never dropped any of them.
Speaker: yeah I'm a dropper. I never dropped any. so I'm a dropper too. And i this is one I finished. And I finished a reread. I don't reread often. So um it was really good too. And I think it will help me appreciate some of the sides.
Speaker: The spinoff series more. Yeah. Which I'm like, I saw you getting conceived! Right? But once again, we won't go too much into that. just I have a deeper appreciation for the series. um Yeah, I totally, totally agree.
