Speaker: Hello, welcome to the FOPCAST! Hi guys, welcome back! How's it going? o I don't know. I'm a little suspenseful for today. how about yourself? I'm feeling good. We just, you know, we just came off of you doing a good three-parter. coming And of course we had a Miami medical situation in a month in between, so I haven't told a story in a while. I'm excited.
Speaker: Yay, I am a passenger princess. Yeah, I hope you have a nice drink or something. I'll still be drinking all the time. yeah if For anyone watching video, I just have to say we don't need to record in the daylight, and I feel like this daylight is really doing me some favors, but, you know.
Speaker: Already in the drink. I ain't got daylight. I look like a vampire in a lair right now. I can see, like, the little halo, so Probably one of us looks amazing with daylight. Fresh haircut, daylight. Oh, yeah. Everyone, yeah check out YouTube to see this on video.
Speaker: All right. I am just going to jump right to it So I am excited because I'm doing, for our first time, we're doing a manga today. um Yeah. After our nice long three-parter and a long complicated series, we're doing a nice short short story. It's only six six and a half, well, six chapters plus one bonus um chapter.
Speaker: um So I just kind of went in randomly. I grabbed a bunch of short story Omega verses, all mangas. um I don't want to say where I pulled this from because I couldn't really find officials of any of these things.
Speaker: I didn't really know it was going for. i grabbed one and jumped right into it. um So I do want to address a few things. So I don't want to speak for Moon, but I think both of us, um we both generally prefer Manwa to manga, correct?
Speaker: And I'm sure most people listening know this manga referring to Japanese comics, manhwa referring to Korean web comics, um several differences. We've talked about those before, I'm sure. um So this is a Japanese manga. um Like I said, I didn't look too much into it. I could tell by the cover kind of what it's going into.
Speaker: So gonna start right off the bat with lots of warnings, lots and lots of warnings. So number one, one of the reasons I often prefer, again, so first off, I do wanna say I'm not super judgy on this stuff, but it is a preference of mine. i like manhwa going into it. i know all my characters gonna be over 20 years old. That part's very nice. um I picked, like I said, several mangas and i all I said in the group chat was, I bet they're all gonna take place in high school.
Speaker: So this one takes place in high school. Um, so yeah, lots, lots of spoiler, or not spoilers, lots of trigger warning. So if this stuff isn't for anyone listening, like I totally understand and would understand, you know, if you don't want to listen to this episode. So getting to that, it is about the the romance is about two high school students.
Speaker: Um, one of them is a sex worker. I don't know their ages, but I'm assuming they're about 16-ish. um So one is a sex worker. He does have sex with adults.
Speaker: It is not glorified. The story is not graphic. There is a lot of a lot of him having sex with adults, except it's never like a nice thing. I'm not going to glorify it. The story doesn't glorify it.
Speaker: um If you're uncomfortable with that, this isn't the episode for you. And I do recommend skipping. So um that is out there. So, Moon, are you prepared? Do you consent to this?
Speaker: I consent to this. I wasn't expecting that, but I'm here now. Okay. I'm surprised you didn't expect that when I said I was doing a manga, but to be honest. But yeah, no, I didn't. so I didn't expect a sex work part.
Speaker: Okay, yeah, I didn't know that part. I really didn't know much going into it. um Immediately opening or almost opening scene is in a high school. and I was like, yep, I knew that was coming. However, i ended up, I actually loved the story. I thought it was so good. um It's deeper than I thought I would get in this like six six chapter story.
Speaker: so let's jump right into it. So it's called Junjo Shonen, which from my own knowledge, i know i I figured meant something like pure hearted boy. Junjo usually means like pure, innocent, naive even, I think. Shonen meaning boy.
Speaker: My weeb's going to come out. It's probably really fucking obvious. I know a little more about Japanese than I do about Korean, but that's fine. I hope to learn more about Korean as well. um However, the story now in one part, I saw it get translated as that as pure hearted boy. And then but then in another part, it actually translated the title as pure hearted prostitute.
Speaker: So I don't know if maybe shonen meaning boy might also mean like boy prostitute. I don't love the word prostitute. That's what they said. I'm not really going use that word too much throughout. And actually throughout the story, they mostly use the word sex worker. Okay.
Speaker: Yeah, that's what I'm more comfortable with. um Terms change over time. If that changes too, my bad. I do my best. um Sex work is real work. I'm, you know, very... They're going to try to keep it on the up as much up as much as I can about that, especially we're and we're talking about a child here.
Speaker: Anyways, let's jump into it. So i kind of, Moon knows nothing. You know nothing going into this, right? didn't even know the title. You didn't know the title, you didn't know it was presenting. just knew it was a manga. Yeah.
Speaker: So this had another cool thing to it. um This is what might make this episode longer than expected for a one shot like this. I wish we'd had this several weeks ago when we shot our Omegaverse 101.
Speaker: The first several chapters start off with like Omegaverse 101 lessons. Yeah. And so I'm going to, I'm going to kind of, but I'm definitely going to read a lot of the first one.
Speaker: um Some of them I'm going to ask your opinion if you want me to read them or not. So right before chapter chapter one. oh this lighting is not great. Sorry if I'm awkward. I'm using paper and a tablet today. so Okay. so the very first one that it has right before chapter one, it has what is Omegaverse.
Speaker: And I might not read the whole thing, but i will read some of it. Omegaverse is a particular genre in BL that originated from the West. It started as a product of sci-fi parody as it was known to be used in works by fans.
Speaker: It was at the time of creating sci-fi that depicts... Sorry, some things are a little weird. I don't really know who translated this. Most of it's pretty good, though. Um... It was at the time of creating sci-fi that depicted the love between werewolves and their ecological system that the three existence and classification systems of alpha, beta, and omega made its appearance.
Speaker: After that, the ironic element of a hierarchical system of male domination of women and racial discrimination increased. The interpretation of Omegaverse is dependent on the writer, and there's an infinite number of versions available.
Speaker: Since the original creator's unknown, There isn't one correct setting to abide by. ah thought that was said so well. Wow. The fact that they got it's from the West and the sci-fi part, because didn't we kind of conclude it's supernatural?
Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. and I'm almost embarrassed because actually after reading this, i kind of went back and listened to a bit of our episode. And like, there's so many things I wish I hadn't said. So maybe one day we'll redo episode 101 with more knowledge. And sorry everyone screaming at us. Yeah, this alone covered so much.
Speaker: um hey Although this individual freedom is one of the charms of the Omegaverse genre, as a reader, it is the threshold of increasingly having to feel the need to confirm each author's version of their own Omegaverse world before progressing onto the story. is within this that we want a lot of people to enjoy this genre with ease that we launched the omegaverse project it is a unique new wonder with an infinite possibility to make the heartthrob in the world of bl that is the aim of the omegaverse project this book is entirely based in this world so i don't know if this is like the author who created this world or is this a translator or i think it feels like it's the author though it feels like the author but i'm so intrigued yeah especially how they said like this story exists in this world um the meaning behind verse and omega verse has a lot of misunderstanding but in actuality comes from the universe slash slash space in regards regards to japan it is with this paradoxical expression of a panel world that is used so this goes into a pretty quick i'm not getting into the whole thing about the difference between alpha beta and omega i'll give their quick things um
Speaker: So we start with omegas. They experience heat. Their heat sessions are once a month for seven days. i couldn't even told you exactly that. Again, this is this universe, but and everything I read sounds pretty like, yeah, that makes sense for most universes. um Outside of heat, the possibility of getting pregnant is very low. They carry sex pheromones. We have betas. They experience no heat.
Speaker: Even though they can be turned on by an omegas heat, there's a possibility Of maintaining their reason and self-control. um Third is alphas.
Speaker: Males only have a bulbous glandus. Also called a knot. They experience he Can we include that in our next 101, please? Bulbas glandus? Yes. Don't you already kind of want to do 101, number two, and like use this as a reference? Sorry, not to cut you off, but we need to add that. Right? Isn't this kind of blowing your mind? When I started reading this, I was like, what? Oh, wow.
Speaker: Yeah, so bulbous glandus, I love that word. Let's remember it. That's also called they're not. um They experience heat. During heat, they continuously ejaculate for 20 to 30 minutes.
Speaker: During heat, the possibility of impregnating someone is 100%.
Speaker: That's high. I guess that only means, though, on like their score, not the other. I don't know. i don't know. Also, this said males only have a bulbous glandus, and definitely I've read things where females do.
Speaker: So that's an interesting one. I'm not going to get into this whole hierarchical system they have. However, and this I'm a little embarrassed about because I feel like right after doing 101, I think I said I didn't like I said it varied like how many of how much of the population are betas.
Speaker: And I think I said, I don't know, like 80, 90, something like that are betas. Everything I've read since then always says 70%. So this down here shows um that alphas are two out of 10 people.
Speaker: Betas are 7 out of 10 people and omegas are 1 out of 10 people. Interesting. That's exactly the same as um in non-refundable alpha. They had a chart and it was exactly the same.
Speaker: there I think it depends too because sometimes it's the alpha that's less than the omega. Once again, universe specific. But I've read a lot where there's less alphas than omegas. I've seen that before. i feel like I've seen more though where...
Speaker: omegas are the rarest yeah so yeah definitely something that can change by universe to universe but i feel like i have read a lot where this makes sense and i want to at least keep that in my mind when i'm reading things yeah at least what we know is not 80 or 90 betas fucking high yeah still yeah it's betas alphas omegas that's not something we've seen twice so Yeah, that's kind of a lot. All right, let's actually get to the story.
Speaker: um Like I said, there's a couple more of these. it's not I think there's three or four of them. um I might skim some. I might read some. We might skip some. Some of it I'll let you decide. Okay.
Speaker: All right. So from that, we open right up into a sex scene. It's quick. It's not graphic. All we really see, our main character, the He's probably exactly what you're picturing. He's a tiny, skinny little boy with black hair, big eyes. This isn't black and white, but we did see some color images. He has big red eyes, um you know, thin and small, and he's wearing like a really big collar with a lock on it.
Speaker: We go straight from that into a classroom. And there we have this really bright blonde classmate. He was, ah yeah, I've seen from pictures. I know he's blonde. He has like short, spiky hair.
Speaker: He's admiring this main character and You could already tell just in panels that he's very, very fond of him. He sees the marks all over the main character's neck while he's helping out him out with his schoolwork. um He's kind of wondering about those marks in his mind. And then okay I'm panels in.
Speaker: i had my things I'm worried about going into manga. So immediately high school. i'm like, okay, I expected that. Immediately. can you guess what I'm about to say?
Speaker: I don't want to, like, get into stereotypes, but they're in their not going to say it, but is it? Okay. You don't want to say it? I don't want to say it. Immediately, their male teacher comes up.
Speaker: He's being creepy. He's being real touchy-feely and handsy on our main character. So...
Speaker: so our main love interest or you know Our main love interest, I'll i'll say it the alpha, um you know our main character that is the sex worker that we saw on the collar, he's the omega. So this really sweet classmate that's been staring at him, he's really smart, he's the alpha. So this teacher is being creepy and touching all up on the omega.
Speaker: Meanwhile, he's asking the alpha like all about his father. He's like, what's going on with your father? I haven't seen him on TV lately. And the alpha's like, oh, I live with my grandma, so I haven't really seen my dad lately. i don't know what he's up to.
Speaker: Something he obviously doesn't want to talk to about too much, but he's a very sweet, polite kid. So the two of them are walking home together, the Alpha and the Omega. um The Alpha's name is Kusaka. um And basically the Omega, whose name is Mizutani. Yeah, Mizutani.
Speaker: ah He's kind of praising Kusaka for being smart. And Kusaka's like, oh, I'm just smart because my dad's a strict politician. You know, he made me be this way. um And then they have a nice conversation and then they part ways. Mizutani, the Omega, says that he needs to leave for his part-time job.
Speaker: Kusaka is later, he's in a, like a konbini and he's just, he's, his brain is all about Mizutani. So he's wondering what his part-time job is. and then he happens to look out the window of the konbini.
Speaker: convenience store and uh he sees Mizutani out there and he sees like he's like heading to work and he's like oh I wonder what he does is for his job like i just want to know about more about him in his life so he follows him and he shows up at a place he's never seen before and it's called Sunshine an Omega Heat Paradise So our sweet little sunshine boy, he walks inside. It's like an office. There's an old dude smoking and this old dude's immediately like, hey, are you here for an interview? We need more boys.
Speaker: So we all know where this is going. um So Kusaka, he's very naive, but he realizes what's going on. And so he tries to politely get out of there. He kind of starts sneaking away. And as he's sneaking off in his office, he runs into Mizutani.
Speaker: Mizutani sees he's trying to escape. So he grabs him by the hand. He runs and into a room and he hides him in the room. Immediately, you know, you can see what's happening. Kusaka sees that Mizutani is he's not wearing much clothing. He's in his collar.
Speaker: He's at work. This is him at his brothel work. Immediately, Mizutani asks him, like, um do you look down on me? And Kusaka's like, no, I'm not looking down on you, but like, is something wrong? Are things okay at home?
Speaker: He's such a good boy. And um and then Mizutani just says like, wow, that's really kind. And then Mizutani kind of gets into his own stuff. He says he doesn't have any friends. He isn't good in school, but he wants to repay Kusaka for being kind.
Speaker: So he's going to help him relax since that's all he knows how to do.
Speaker: Again, right as they're kids, I'm not going too into this. The story actually doesn't go too crazy about this stuff. But he does start touching on him. He starts fondling him. And he does give him a blowjob.
Speaker: Kusika is very uncomfortable. And he like quickly realizes what's happening. And he pushes him away. But like he's a young, sweet boy. it was a little It was a little too late. um He did, you know.
Speaker: He had his effect. And he immediately felt really bad about it. He didn't love that that happened. um I think he thought about like how his grandma wants him to be a good boy or something like that. And then, so Mizutani starts immediately teasing him about the experience, you know, and obviously knowing he's very good in experience, but then he tells him, Hey, like that was actually blackmail. Don't tell anyone about where I work. Don't tell anyone about this.
Speaker: He then shoves him into the closet and he calls in a client. And so, yeah. So an adult comes in,
Speaker: ah But the name Kusaka's in the closet. he He's listening and then he's like, should I be doing this? And he does peek out of the closet. He sees Mizutani engaged with this adult man and they make eye contact and like all Kusaka can think is like how beautiful he looks.
Speaker: Okay. We're off to a start. We got a sip here. yep So we just ended a chapter. so do you know what that means? Ooh, another one-on-one. Lesson time.
Speaker: So this one's about alpha, beta, and omega daily life. um I don't think I want to go into this one too much. It basically talks about what it's like being at work and school and marriage.
Speaker: um I mean, basically saying that like at work, alphas mainly take on, you know, high roles like the president of the company, um high importance, a lot of family businesses and things like that.
Speaker: um See, due to the popularization of heat suppressants, employment is actually increased for omegas, but there's still a lot of prejudice prejudice towards them, including like hiring processes.
Speaker: um They even receive welfare money from the government. um mean yeah And then betas, like how they perform at work, totally depends on their own individual abilities. So they can have they can often have positions that aren't that different from alphas, but um they're usually still being hired by alphas. So they can get to that point, but usually they're still below the alphas, basically.
Speaker: um So at school, this one was interesting. This is probably very much based like for this universe, but basically um some schools entrance is only allowed to alphas. um There are, yeah, so there are alpha only schools, but there are no beta only or omega only schools.
Speaker: Interesting. Yeah. And then there are co-education schools. um And even still, there's a special course called the alpha class that's available online. um and then betas and omegas can get into those classes depending on their intelligence, but it's a lot harder.
Speaker: And basically just that alphas are thought to be superior um school-wise. That's interesting because I know, once again, universe specific, I've seen more like omega-only catered things. Okay. I feel like I don't read that much with, I mean, high schools, I guess there's a lot of college. i haven't read a lot of omega-verse even really with college.
Speaker: The ones I've read, they've just mentioned like, There's like programs for like omegas only. Okay. So it's I've only read a handful of those, but that's where I'm interested with by the alpha only because the few I've read were like beta only for more of like for protection and stuff. Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah. That's usually kind of what I've gotten out of. This is very much. And well, this the story will get more into this. There's a reason that this this universe here is very much that alphas have the hierarchy. They look down on the others and...
Speaker: And then it even gets into marriage. I'm not going to go too much into that, but basically in this world, they're saying that generally people, the people marry within their own kind here. Um, it's like omegas and omegas.
Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. They kind of don't get into it. Like, yeah. So like they have high regard for like mere alphas marrying other alphas. I don't remember exactly what all they say in here, like about the actual reproductive part about that.
Speaker: Um, But yeah, there's a lot of marrying into family for rank, marrying into money. Yeah, I think that's all I'm really going pull from this one. But looks that if we ever do a 101, I will be coming back to this as reference for sure. Yeah, that's so interesting.
Speaker: ah Yeah, let me see. how that i want to
Speaker: Yeah, so there's like two more of these. I think one of them I'm probably going to touch on. The other one I might not get into. But we'll see when we get there. all right, so back to our story. wo and Getting out of class to go back to our story. did you
Speaker: Alright, so after the incident with Kusaka being in the closet while our Omega is doing his job, um so it just kind of cuts to afterwards, they're still like in the office and like the first thing Kusaka just asks him about the collar and he explains that it's the shop's responsibility to keep their workers from becoming paired because if they become paired with someone, they can't work anymore.
Speaker: um And Like the name of this place, you know, was the Omega Heat Paradise. So kind of their specialty is that you can still come visit the um Omegas while they're in heat. And basically just that they're protected.
Speaker: So guess they're mostly worried about pairing versus pregnancy. Because like the caller is to protect them from pairing. But anyways. Well, that makes sense, though. Because I'm sorry guys are against this. You can always abort a baby. But once you're paired, you typically can't.
Speaker: have sex with anyone else true and you'd think in like a sex work like this that would be like just kind of like almost like health care part of the job we will get into it doesn't get into it too much but that is going to be a little bit the plot later so that will come up a bit more um anyway so after this experience despite what i think a lot of people would be pretty traumatized kusaka is more obsessed with mizutani than he's ever been he's just thinking about him he's thinking about how pretty he is But then he's also thinking about, like, why does he always have such a lonely face? And why does he have to work that job?
Speaker: He's such a good boy. um And... did it do Sorry. All right. And then... So then he's just chilling and he gets a letter from his father.
Speaker: The father tells him that he needs to act in accordance with the elite and have the self-awareness of an alpha. Basically, he's saying don't hang out with omegas. And... he's just thinking, know, to himself, he's like, this is why I don't get along with my father. This is why I don't like my father. Like, I just don't judge people in that way.
Speaker: um So then after that, Mizutani, the Omega, doesn't show up to school for four days. So of course our little alpha baby is getting concerned. So he asks the school if he can be the one to bring his schoolwork to him.
Speaker: So he they tell him where he lives. So he goes to his house. It's really big. it looks really old. It's like overrun with trees and things. um He knocks and no one's home. um He thinks about how he thinks that's sad because even though his dad was never really around, um his grandmother's always home and she's always cooking and like he's just never come home to not have someone there for him.
Speaker: um So we skip back to the brothel. Mizutani is there. He's working. Keep in mind, he's been out of school for a few days. They said he wasn't feeling well. um So he's at the brothel. Someone has a scheduled appointment to come see him.
Speaker: do you want to guess who scheduled this appointment?
Speaker: There's a few guesses. It could be the main lead your or the creepy teacher. Yep. Okay, was thinking creepy teacher, but I was like, ah let me give them a little bit of benefit. No, the creepy teacher shows up for his scheduled appointment.
Speaker: Again, he's been out for several days. Not well. He's in heat. The teacher like reserved him while he was in heat. Oh, that's disgusting. Yeah, it's really gross. again i'm not going to get too into it They don't get too into it because it's not supposed to be cute or fun.
Speaker: um So the teacher put a chain on him. And this was interesting because he's always been so confident in his job. He like did not like the chain. He was very uncomfortable. He did not like that. and But it's his job. So he puts up with it. He does it anyway.
Speaker: While things are happening, the teacher is being like crazy and like drilling him about our main alpha, Kusaka. And he's like being like, you like him, you're trying to seduce him. Like you're always around him. And he's being like, no, no, it's nothing like that. Of course.
Speaker: Weird that the teacher's obsessed with that, but this whole thing's weird. So it's fine. So then later back at school, our alpha Kusaka, he feels sick. So he goes to the nurse's office and he sees that Mizutani is there in the nurse's office and that his neck is just totally covered in bruises.
Speaker: Um, Kusaka is actually sick. He's really feverish. So he's happy to see this little Omega. So he runs and you're like he just grabs him and starts hugging him. And he tells him that he missed him and that he just wants to know more about him. And then he so tells him that he likes him. Like full on confession. He starts to cry.
Speaker: and then kind of surprising our Omega. He says, do you really like, do you really like me? Because I like you too. And yeah, and they kiss. And so they're having this cute scene. They're crying. They kiss.
Speaker: And then immediately goes to the next panel. And we see Mizutani wearing his collar, dark look in his eyes. And he says, you know, this is obviously, i don't know if this is in his mind. I don't know if this is a flashback. And he just says, i really hate that murderer.
Speaker: Dun, dun, dun. So now we skip to our next 101.
Speaker: What is heat? Wow. This is wild, huh? Okay. What is heat? Right? Yeah. Well, okay. story what is heat? So sex pheromones are created by the hormones within an Omega's body. These pheromones are mixed in with body excretions, such as sweat and secreted into the environment.
Speaker: Um, okay. The same sex pheromone is not created by alphas or betas. Thus, the name of this pheromone is commonly called the omega pheromone. For three weeks in a month, a large amount of the omega's hormone is accumulated within the body. When their heat approaches, these same stored hormones form and release as sex pheromones. These pheromones are continuously released for seven days.
Speaker: I feel like a lot of stories, it's less than seven. Or maybe it's just shortened if they're hooking up with an alpha. I think it's also dependent because sometimes they they keep it pretty vague because they'll be like, oh, you want for a few days. her Yeah, it seems like it's usually a few days rather than like a full seven. ah A full week feels a little off, but I have seen read some where they do take like a good chunk of time off. Yeah.
Speaker: And some I almost get the vibe that it's almost like a period where because like, you know, sometimes they'll be at work and they'll be like, oh, I don't feel great. I think my heat's coming, you know? Yeah. And then they have a few days where like, and then they'll have like their day where like, okay,
Speaker: Even with a period, it's not everyone's going to be like a full week or stuff. So I think it is kind of like just depending on the omega. Yeah, so. um This development of the particular quality of an omega is thought to be brought about because originally omegas had low rates of conception, and thus this was used to seduce alphas that had a high fertilization rate.
Speaker: That's interesting. Huh.
Speaker: I thought omegas were known to have high Yeah, this I think it said earlier for this one, they said their rates of getting pregnant are actually pretty low. interesting. But then boom it just Alpha's heat is the one that has the really high percentage. I think this does talk about... Yeah, let's see. Oh, yeah, so this is... Let's see know if it's at this part, but then Alpha's experience an outbreak heat...
Speaker: an outbreak of heat After reacting to an omega spheromone, after being hit with the heat once, the reasoning and abilities vanish and they are inclined to act violently.
Speaker: Once the first heat arrives at about the age of 12 to 18, this is the same for alphas and omegas. So this one is sounds to me like it's saying an alpha's heat is always in, or they're saying heat, not rut, but that it's always in like reacts in reaction to an omega's heat.
Speaker: I feel like that's something I've seen very split. I've seen one where alphas have a scheduled rut and where it seems like their ruts are just always set off by the omegas. Yeah, I think it really is just dependent because I've seen, like you said, both.
Speaker: Yeah, yeah, I've definitely seen Where normally if it's set off by an omega, you know, the omega's like in a heat and they've been around like the omega enough to trigger it, not just like an omega in passing.
Speaker: Yeah, yeah, yeah, got true. Definitely, that goes both ways. um So then this does a whole little thing about like when an alpha bites around the nape of an omega's neck while having sexual intercourse during heat, the two become a pair. In a situation where those two become a pair, an omega won't be able to attract another alpha and cause them to change and react. However, the omega won't be able to have sex with anyone that is not their pair during their heat section sessions.
Speaker: If they choose have sex with anyone not their pair, then the omega will experience dizziness, um headaches, and nausea. As a general rule, the bond between the pair cannot be broken. That's pretty hard.
Speaker: Yeah, that's normal. And then this like shows like a little picture of like the neck collar that a lot of omegas, I guess, use to prevent um unwanted, an unwanted person pairing with them.
Speaker: a um And then this is interesting because, I mean, I guess we've known this, but I never really. So it says the bite mark formed during the pair formation will always remain. And obviously we know that, but I feel like I'm kind of.
Speaker: dumb and didn't really, and like thought of it as just a normal scar that all scars will stay. And I've even kind of thought like, okay, these two had a crazy sex session and his whole body's covered in bites, but that one bite marks is going to stay forever.
Speaker: But like in here it's saying that, yes, that is how that works. I only knew that from that one anime, Tadaima Okari, because he had that and I'm like, oh, so that's how it stays? Because they normally never really revisit Once again, the whole bite mark thing isn't as common anymore.
Speaker: But if there is like a bite sesh, like it doesn't like it's not ever really a huge part after that. I feel like I read something recently where there was the bite where someone even questioned the bite.
Speaker: But yeah, I feel like I've seen that both ways. Sometimes I feel like they're just almost too lazy to remember to keep drawing it in. And they'll still have moments where they're like, ah And then also often I feel like omegas have kind of like shaggier hair too. So you don't want to see it. but Yeah, to like hide it.
Speaker: Yeah. And I think and a lot of the stories we read end with a marking. So we don't really see them like just hanging out, being marked too much anyway. hey Markings have, I haven't really read many with markings anymore.
Speaker: No? yeah i just Like I said, the one I've read most recently was The Ear. Yeah, yeah, that's interesting. Yeah, so. Well, the more we know.
Speaker: In a somewhat soon upcoming episode, I think i I have a real interesting thing to discuss about marking. But that's several weeks away. We'll get into that. But it'll come up again.
Speaker: Alright, so after, now that we know more about heat cycles, we're going to skip ahead a month and our main couple are happily dating. um They're cute, they're walking each other to and from school, they are keeping it a secret.
Speaker: um However, our Omega Mizutani is very avoidant about questions. And as we know, Kusaka just wants to know more about him. So he's asking him real innocent questions about his family, about his old school, because he knows he transferred in from another school, which is pretty rare and doesn't happen that often.
Speaker: And he's first like avoidant, like he just like runs off and does something cute. First, he just does like those little ways to avoid things. And then he kind of starts doing what he knows to try to avoid things. So they're like in a karaoke bar and Kusaka is just asking. I think that's when he asked about his school.
Speaker: And so he in a karaoke room, he starts touching on him. um And Kusaka was not comfortable. He told him like that was wrong. And that he wasn't dating him just for sex. And he didn't want that.
Speaker: And Mizutani like asked him if he hated sex. And he said it was kind of a way or he said it was a waste because he heard that like alphas an alpha's heat is so amazing to have sex during and stuff.
Speaker: But I kind of still get the vibe that he's he's saying kind of bad things. And I think it's like because that's what he knows. And because like he doesn't want to talk about the things he doesn't want to talk about his past and the things he doesn't want to talk about.
Speaker: But um anyways, he's kind of being a bit of a dick about it. So Kusika gets a little frustrated and he's like, is your job not enough for you? Saying like, are you not getting enough sex at work? Like, why do you need it from me?
Speaker: So Mizutani does get offended at that, which is understandable. um And he's immediately like, so you are looking down on me. Um, and But he's like, you're looking down on me. He's like, however, there isn't more to me than that. Like, this is what I am. And these are his words. He said, I'm a sex work. What you say? I'm a sex working bitch.
Speaker: um Let's see. And then he was like, but isn't that what Alpha's dating Omegas is all about anyways? Like, isn't that what this should be about? And Kusaka is, of course, upset. And he's like, no, me liking you has nothing to do with any of that.
Speaker: And then Mizutani, our Omega, he tears up and he runs off. All upset. Yeah. He kind of started it, but then he kind of got upset in the end. Kind of felt like he was trying to purposely push him to say mean things.
Speaker: But yeah. Anyways, so our sweet little alpha Kusika, he goes back home. He's feeling sad. He gets there. His grandma's organizing his dad's study. i think I will get into it more. um His grandma is like a sweetheart. Like it's an important part that she's just such a kind person in his life. I think that that's why he learned to be a kind person himself.
Speaker: um Anyway, she's organizing his dad's study and he goes to help her or she needs to go do something. So he starts taking over. And while he's cleaning out his dad's study, he finds a love letter that is to his father and it is not from his mother.
Speaker: um And basically the main thing that comes from this letter is it says, um I love you You treat me, you treat me and Omega kindly. So that's what some Anonymous lover has said to his father in the past.
Speaker: That ends there. We jump to what Mizutani's up to. He's also left and is upset, but he's on his way home and he gets attacked by the teacher. Because of course he is. I'm assuming was nighttime. I think this is right after. their I believe this is just they leave the karaoke. Yeah.
Speaker: And Kusaka went straight home and started helping with the study. And then Mizutani, I think, is walking home. I assume it's nighttime if they're at karaoke. So in public, sorry. Yeah, he's almost home. He's like, he's at his own door. Yeah. Oh, oh that's even worse. Yeah, he's at his door. Like said, he has this old big um house that's kind of overgrown.
Speaker: The teacher like physically attacks him and he starts showing him pictures he has in his phone of him and Kusaka kissing. And the teacher is just freaking out. He's like, is it because he's an alpha? Am I not good enough because I'm a beta?
Speaker: Like he's getting crazy. Like lost his mind crazy. um Mizutani is able to lock him. He gets into his door and he's able to lock him out the house. And he is just pounding on the door going crazy.
Speaker: I'm not sure how he gets the door open and he gets inside. And unfortunately he does sexually assault him successfully. And he's saying, like, we're going to become a pair. We're going to be bonded.
Speaker: and he And he's not wearing his collar. He's not at work. He bites his neck. But I think, I don't remember if he's saying it if he's thinking it, but Mizutani's like, you're a beta. Like, this isn't even going to do anything. Like, there's no point. Like, it means nothing. This guy's just so fucking crazy and out of his mind that he does it anyways.
Speaker: So he's really just physically harmed him. on However, so right before he did bust through the door, he was, Mizutani had his phone out and He was texting and his like thought bubble was something like, please someone help me or something like that.
Speaker: So he had his phone. we The next scene is Kusaka Alpha. He busts in. He busts into and he hits the teacher immediately.
Speaker: So Mizutani did send him a text. un So he punches the teacher. i think the teacher runs off. And then he just starts holding his Zutani and like in his mind, he's like, I just need to protect him. That's what I need to do.
Speaker: Now we get to the pair mechanism.
Speaker: I actually don't think I'll really talk about this one too much. um
Speaker: Yeah, it gets into bees. it compares them to bees. I'm not that too interested in that. And then it just kind of gets into heat suppressants. Like there's the injection kind. And then that there's pills.
Speaker: um Yeah. Yeah. the Basically the heat suppressant is to be taken like when the heat occurs, the pills taken every day. um Oh, this part's interesting. These were developed in the 1950s exclusively for omegas.
Speaker: I just love that there's a freaking year for it. was going to wow, they've been a year. i'm assuming. I'm kind of dumb, so sorry if I'm wrong. like I'm assuming that's just totally based on when like the pill and stuff was created in real life for women.
Speaker: own Yeah, they use the composition of an alpha's hormones as the core in order to suppress the omega's hormones. um Yeah, anyways, that's all we need from that one. They get less interesting as they go on.
Speaker: Oh yeah, we got through. That's the last one, actually. They don't have it for every chapter. It's just the first however many. So I'm kind of thinking that maybe, again, i don't know if it's this author, the translator, the the publishing company. I'm not exactly sure who it is putting these out. so they probably just put those like four in the first four chapters of every story.
Speaker: So now we get to go right through it. er Did you? Okay, so, you know, as it ended, he was attacked by the teacher. um The alpha Kusaka came and like saved him. So now um they're at they're vader in Mizutani's house still.
Speaker: um they showered They showered together, nothing happened. um And then they like shared a futon. You know, he's just trying to take care of him and calm him down. um I guess after after they sleep, Mizutani, the Omega, he like, he made food.
Speaker: And I think, you know, Kusaka is kind of surprised that he's like a good cook. And then he shared without being asked, he shared that his mom died when he was in middle school. All he really said was so they use the word mother. um His mother is a man.
Speaker: So he says um he was working, but his body was ruined. so that's all. All we know um was that his mom died while he was in middle school while working. We don't quite know what that means.
Speaker: um He never knew who his father was and he was initially taken in by his mom's relatives, but he said he went back to living alone um in the house you know that he lived in with his mom because he didn't get along with his mom's family.
Speaker: Kusaka thanked him for sharing and then he actually ended up taking him home to his own home where his grandma was there so that his grandma could spoil him. um The grandma's super sweet to both of them. And then at some point she asked the Omega Mizutani if he would come and like help her with like chopping vegetables or something. it was just because she wanted to talk to him for a minute. So she told him that like she was happy he was there and that her grandson Kusaka stopped bringing friends over because his father disapproved one day when he brought an Omega over.
Speaker: And basically, he's he's such a friendly guy. He brought like all his friends over when he was younger. And one of them was an Omega. And the father was like, you can't do that. Get him out of here. So he just totally he kind of stopped having friends. Like he didn't he has friends in school, but he didn't have like friends outside of school and wouldn't bring friends around because of his dad.
Speaker: um And then. um Question. h
Speaker: His dad didn't like him having Omega friend, but yet had the love letter from an Omega. we'll We'll get into that, won't we? Okay, cool. Cool. I am tracking. They don't really talk. Well, no, they'll briefly mention the mother. i don't know where she's at now. Maybe they mentioned it. I'm not sure.
Speaker: um But I'm assuming that this is another weird thing. I'll say this later, but the mother is from an alpha family. That's how they worded it. But um yeah, so his his wife is not an Omega.
Speaker: Anyway, so the grandmother described her son, you know, she said um he's a stubborn person that doesn't allow anything that he's opposed to. He's just like my husband. So referring to her, know, his grandfather's basically saying his father is just like his grandfather.
Speaker: um So but it's still like a sweet moment. Like she was being very kind to this, you know, the the omo Omega, even though her husband and her son are clearly supposedly against Omegas.
Speaker: Um, so then they, so Mizutani spends the night. He actually starts to get fresh with Kusaka, like in the bed. He's starting to like touch on him and stuff. And Kusaka is kind of like, okay, I don't want this, but like, if it's what he wants, I'm okay with this.
Speaker: But then Mizutani suddenly stops and he thinks about what a good person Kusaka's grandmother is. So he doesn't want to force himself on him because his grandmother is so sweet. so that's where that ends.
Speaker: Um, So anyways, as time goes on, Kusaka keeps snooping snooping in his dad's um study. um He's finding more of his letters. He's reading the letters. There's tons of love letters. He doesn't know when they're from, who they're from. However, in one of the letters, he finds a photo.
Speaker: He finds the photo and then he immediately like, here's someone coming in. So he pockets the photo without looking at it. Turns out it's his dad. His dad showed up at home.
Speaker: ah He wasn't real happy about that. And the dad had come home to take him back. So he immediately, dad comes in and he tells him, I'm here to take you back with me and you're moving schools because I've heard that you're dating an Omega.
Speaker: And in the dad's word, he says, now is not the time to be infatuated with the inferior kind. Yeah. And so, yeah. So our little boy who's normally very sweet and good, he of course, he's had it. And so he's like, he's like, you're a hypocrite. How can you say this? I know that you had an Omega lover.
Speaker: And guess how the dad responds to that?
Speaker: How does he respond? um He falls to the floor. Okay, I did not expect that. So the father just falls to the floor. And the next thing we have, Kusaka is on the phone calling Mizutani from the hospital.
Speaker: and telling yeah And he's telling him he's sorry that he has to cancel their plans because his father's in the hospital and he's not doing well. um Mizutani says that he's going to come to the hospital because he can tell that Kusaka is really worried and that he doesn't want him to be alone.
Speaker: So he comes to the hospital. but like right when he gets to the hospital, questions so the dad is so dramatic he hospitalized himself um I assume that shock was like oh my god yeah like there was definite shock I assume he had a heart attack okay something definitely happened to him I don't think he chose it I'm straight upset I was gonna say wow how fucking dramatic a heart attack okay I get it but like still how fucking dramatic yeah things are very serious in the hospital so yeah I think he just had a heart attack on the spot damn
Speaker: And yeah, so now Mizutani showed up to the hospital to comfort Kusaka. However, like they have a quick moment of like, hey, what's up? I'm happy you're here. But he's like, dude, I ran here. i am hot and sweaty. So, you know, Kusaka is such a sweet doting boy that he's like, let me go get us some drinks. So he leaves to go get them drinks.
Speaker: And then our Omega, he goes by himself into his boyfriend's father's room. And he has a knife.
Speaker: So like yeah, the father's in bed, like asleep in the hospital room and he's walking in with a knife.
Speaker: So now we cut back to Kusaka. He's being like, so he's like getting the drinks and he's just thinking about how he's, his new plan, he's just going to, you know, once his dad stabilizes, he's going to tell him all about Mizutani and he thinks that he's going to approve of him because he's a good person and his dad's just going to accept it once he understands him and understands that he loves him.
Speaker: We cut back to Mizutani. is in the hospital room. He's looking pretty crazy. And he just says, i won't allow you to die on your own. I'll kill you myself.
Speaker: And then... Splash back to Kusaka at the vending machine getting the drinks. As he's getting out the drinks, he like, I think he goes to get the money out of his pocket. And he remembers he has the photo in his pocket.
Speaker: So he pulls out the photo. And his first question is Mizutani? photo is a picture of his father with someone who looks exactly like Mizutani, but with slightly longer hair.
Speaker: See, I'm not surprised by that. Yeah. Like, not to get cliche and stuff, they do kind of like to be borderline almost incestuous. Yeah. So the first, I actually, I ended up reading this twice. um Well, I kind of, when I can, I do that anyways. I read it once and I got so into it. I didn't want to take notes. I just read the whole thing. But one part very much confused me. I won't get it too into that. um So I really thought this was, I thought that they were like brothers or something. That's not the case at all. Okay. Don't worry about that. That's out of there. However, we do find out, yes, the Omega that his father was in love with was Mizutani's mother.
Speaker: um I'll get into a little more like with the timeline, but don't worry. No incest plot. You know what? That's good. Yeah. All the warnings I had to give in the morning went the beginning.
Speaker: you know is Yeah. Incest totally like unfazed by the other stuff. What? Yeah. And like I said, I read things wrong myself. So i was getting to the end. i was like wait, why aren't they questioning this part? Why aren't they worried about? And i was like, oh, okay. I misunderstood something there. that That was never like a thing.
Speaker: um Anyway, so now we cut back to the hospital room. And Kusaka's father is waking up. He sees Mizutani standing there at the side of his bed. And he just says, Tsubaki.
Speaker: And then Mizutani responds back with, Mom is no longer here. You killed him. And he holds up the knife. He's got knife in hand. And then Kusaka comes running into the room. And Mizutani immediately drops the knife when he sees him. And like he does, he runs out of the room crying.
Speaker: ah So this him running and crying goes to a flashback of him as a little child, a very young child. And he's crying. And he's crying because the other kids in school are teasing him because he has a single mom and he's poor and he's an Omega. And the kids are telling him that Omegas can't be happy and he'll never be happy because he's an Omega. And his mom, Tsubaki, who we saw in the picture, um she just, oops, sorry, mix him The mom and the he, sorry. He tells him, um ah you know, don't worry about them. Happiness is being together with the person that you love and like, I love you. And so we could always be happy because we have each other.
Speaker: um and then we get like a few more things just showing that these two, the mother and son had a very close, sweet relationship. So he's very little in school. They made cookies. And so he's excited to go home and give the cookies to his mom.
Speaker: But when he gets home, his mom's not there. And he's just like, oh, he's at work. OK. So he goes to find his mom at work um on his way there. He finds like a really scary looking guy that tells him that he can't be there. And he's getting scared and like, oh, my gosh. And then his mom comes out and clears things up. And it's like, oh, this is my son. And immediately um the guy is like, oh, you know, like, oh, that's cool. It's your son. And this guy actually turns out to be really nice. He offers them a ride home. He gives them ah a ride home.
Speaker: Um, but then that's when his mom, he's very little and his mom has to explain to him like, Hey, my job is different. I have to deal with a lot of people. Sometimes I deal with really scary people, but like, don't worry. You know, I just, I need you to promise me that you'll stay home and you won't ever come find me at work again.
Speaker: um So, yeah, the guy drives him home. The guy actually turns out to be really nice. um And then it just kind of goes into it goes into quite a bit, like just more sweet memories with his mom. She was really kind. She really loved him. she cooked. She showed her love. she He. Sorry. I'm so sorry. I was like, wait, I'm getting confused. She or he. I'm so sorry. Me, who's usually very good with pronouns and stuff.
Speaker: For some reason, it's the mom and the he I can't get. No, no, I get that. I was like, wait. because I feel like in most of them, even I'm like the Omega dad, the Omega dad. No, yeah sorry. The Omega mother, who is a man. And he I mean, he looks, I hate to say this, like, more like a guy. He's very feminine. He has, like, some slightly longer hair than his son, but he looks like a guy. It's literally just reading off these notes that I'm like, she, no, he.
Speaker: Very, very sorry about that. um Anyway, so, yeah so get just, like said, really into it, showing how so fucking sweet this mother is and that they love each other so much. Yeah.
Speaker: And yeah, and then it just goes into the now he's in middle school. He's in the middle school uniform and he basically just goes into school and we just see that they tell him that we're so sorry there was an accident.
Speaker: And of course, we know that the mother died and then it cuts to the funeral. He's at the funeral and he just hears his whole family. You know, his mother's family is all just talking shit about him. And they're saying that they don't want to keep him because he's the result of one of his mother's customers.
Speaker: And then he just hears that, you know, he knows nothing. And he just hears the family say that this was um everything that's happened is all the fault of his, um his politician lover, Kusaka. And when I say, so I've been calling our main character or our main characters by their family names, because that's what they call each other.
Speaker: So they're saying the politician Kusaka is, you know, Kusaka's father. um So that's it. So that's the only point that got it in his head that every, that his mom dying and everything that happened to him since is,
Speaker: that guy's fault um so anyways at the funeral like said his family's talking shit they're not being kind to him and then the he's the so the guy who he ran into at his mom's work runs into him he was at the funeral and you know he he's comforts him and he's being kind to him and he uh Mizutani is kind of like This is the only person he's ever seen, like, not be negative about his mother. And so he trusts him.
Speaker: and like said, he's comforting him him. And this guy invites him to come stay with him. Can you guess what happens? Schmacksy time? Mm-hmm. Aw.
Speaker: He's in junior high and this guy that he, like, trusts because this guy was kind to him and his mom. They go home together and the next scene is just them in bed together. not great. Yeah. And Tune is there in bed together and Mizutani is staring at, I think it's the same photo of his mom with the the politician.
Speaker: um He's thinking to himself and also talking with the other guy about it. He's seen this politician on TV. He knows about this guy that he is an alpha supremacist. And he also does know that he has a son that's his own age.
Speaker: So this is... the For some reason, that feels really racist. yeah that what I mean, it is. i've never. I know, it is. Yeah. I feel like we've seen, so personally, I've seen so much like alphas being supremacists. I've never seen it put into writing. Maybe it was just this translation. They should have put the word alpha supremacist.
Speaker: And I was like, oof. Yeah, I was just like, wow. Because like normally it's like, like you said, it's worded a little bit more eloquently. Yeah. Yeah, no, but they but i like I like that they said it like it is. Yeah, because it really puts into tone like, hey, this is a hierarchy. Yep.
Speaker: And that there are people, politicians out there who are just straight up supremacists. Anyway, so he and this dude who should be taking care of him and instead is instead fucking him, they're watching the news together. And on the news, there's just a so celebrity who's like getting in trouble because of a family member scandal.
Speaker: And so Mizutani asks the other guy, he's like, hey, you know, do celebrities have to apologize when their family makes mistakes? And he's like, yeah. And he's like, gets a little more specific. Would a politician have to step down if their son impregnated a minor? um Keep in mind the son is his own age.
Speaker: Anyway, so he tells this fucking pedophile that he wants to do his mom's job so that he can save money. And he tells him there's somewhere that he wants to go and something he wants to do.
Speaker: um So this guy, at least, I guess, helps let's somehow helps him so that that's when this is when he goes and he moves back into his the home he shared with his mother by himself. So basically, after his mom died, he stayed a little bit with this old dude and then went back to his own home. And then I think the thing that this guy helped him out with was he got him purposely got him into Kusaka's school.
Speaker: So, um, too bad. He's a fucking pedophile. Yeah. Right. I know. I'm like, this guy's done nice things. And then, oh, okay. I guess, no, this is not making it okay at all.
Speaker: Um, at the funeral, he did this guy, this guy who doesn't fucking matter. He did say to him like, oh, you look just like Subaki, like you look just like your mother. So obviously this guy did have feelings for the mom.
Speaker: Don't go fuck the kid because you had feelings for the mom. Anyways. So. The mom's a sex worker. Go pay for it. Well, she's dead now. So. Well, like beforehand. Yeah. I think I'm sure he was. I think he was. but he probably was a customer and that's why he was there.
Speaker: If I didn't really catch that in the first part, i'm sure that's what was going on. um Anyway, so we flash forward to him in high school. He's moving into the home alone. He's purposely meets Kusaka.
Speaker: Obviously, he purposely was trying to get him to help him with the schoolwork. And then you know, he said that, yes, he was trying to seduce him. However, he now he's thinking to himself, he wasn't expecting both of them to fall in love. And he like is confessing to himself that, no, he really is in love with Kusaka, even though everything was based on a lie.
Speaker: So we jump forward to a month later. he has not come back to school. Kusaka is going out of his mind. so even though he saw him with a knife over his father's bed, he has actually absolutely like filled his mail slot at his house. It's flooded with mail letters to him telling him like, please contact me and all of this. um He also like, you know, thinks to himself about how he hasn't been able to talk to his dad about what happened. And he's so confused and doesn't understand what Mizutani was going to do um
Speaker: But of all this confusion, he doesn't know what his dad did. he doesn't know what and why Mizutani was going to do what he was going to do. But he's most upset that he doesn't understand Mizutani's tears because he's a good sweet boy.
Speaker: um After that, the dad's doing better in the hospital and he does call him in and wants to talk to him. And for some reason, the dad just wants to spill his own fucking tea. So no bullshit. We get the whole story right now from the horse's mouth.
Speaker: um So the father says that um his one true love in life was Tsubaki, which was the Omega, you know, Mizutani's mother. um the father had already been married to a woman of an alpha household, like I said earlier. That phrasing was interesting. I'm assuming she's an alpha, but then they have a son.
Speaker: I don't know. um That would make sense on a biological scale, because you did say in this universe they marry within their class. Yeah, they marry within their class. um he you know he's first gender he's a male his wife is a woman so she'd be a female alpha so i guess it makes sense but yeah the marriage was set up by and they've used this word again this word was set the marriage was set up by his supremacist father um so he was already married when he met subaki
Speaker: the omega um he himself was a secretary like a political secretary working for his father and Tsubaki was a university student and it was actually especially at that time it was really hard for omegas omegas to get into university so I think he was a little bit older and like he just had to work so hard to get into school and he was like working so hard um and so they started a secret relationship however like it did kind of show like um they only met up every few weeks and like they went to a botanical garden and the father said like they were friends going out. So I don't actually think their relationship was sexual, which is interesting. Like that was the love of his life.
Speaker: Um, he said like seeing him, you know, every few weeks was got what got him through the stress of, um, his father, the pressure his father was putting on him. and then they even said just the empty conversations and silence with his wife.
Speaker: Um,
Speaker: Yeah. And then um so, you know, the father's telling the story. And so then his son cuts in and he's like, did did you abandon you just abandoned him? Like, did you just abandon Tsubaki? And that's why Mizutani did what he did, because you fucking abandoned his mother.
Speaker: And the dad was like, no, like Tsubaki is the one that broke things off. um He just said that he didn't have a family and then he disappeared and I never saw him again. So I guess i didn't even notice this part it's not obvious until this moment. um So it's the father's in the hospital bed. His son is at the side. He's telling him this. The grandmother is sitting right next to um you know her grandson.
Speaker: She starts to cry and that's when she cuts in because she didn't know his side of it. She didn't know, you know, we're getting all the sides. She has the last side of it. So she cuts in crying and she says her husband did it.
Speaker: The grandfather tried to pay Tsubaki to go away, but Tsubaki wouldn't accept money. So she just convinced him that he was going to ruin her son's future um if he stayed.
Speaker: So he took off on his own for his sake. um And so the dad himself, this supremacist supposedly, he starts to cry and he just, um and he just tells his son, go protect the one who's dearest to you.
Speaker: And so Kusaka takes his dad's advice. He takes off. um He starts looking into the whereabouts, you know, just trying to find where Mizutani went. um He talks to the school and the school actually.
Speaker: okay I feel like this is a thing in anime and manga, like specifically in Japanese media where the schools give everyone's fucking information away like it's nothing. so It's true. Yeah.
Speaker: So this happens here. i don't know if that's a stupid fictional thing or if Japan needs to, you know, get a little more strict on there or whatever. However, Japan has such like a thing with um trust and honesty and whatever they're doing, it's their crime rates are low. Their kids are not getting kidnapped out there. So you have a good point, though, because how are all these kids going to their classmates house to drop off homework?
Speaker: I mean, you see that so much in anime and manga. That has to be a real thing. Wow. Yeah. Here, i think they just send the parents an email these days. I don't know.
Speaker: um Anyway, so he goes looking to his whereabouts. It's pretty easy. The school lets him know that Mizutani is staying with his country his family out in the country. So Kusaka goes and he goes out to the country. They, of course, give over his address like it's nothing. So he takes a train. He goes to the country.
Speaker: um He finds him when Mizutani sees him. What do Omegas do? They run. They run. he ran. So he chased him down. um However, he did catch up to him and he was able to tell him that um he knew all about everything. he knew about his mother.
Speaker: um and so Mizutani is like, so then in that case, you know that I only wanted to get close to you because I wanted revenge. um Your father abandoned my mother for his own social status.
Speaker: And he told him, he said, my revenge plan was that I was going to make a baby with you for the scandal. And I was going to to destroy your father that way. However, getting close to you, like, I just couldn't go through with it And Kusaka just told Mizutani that he didn't think he actually ever wanted revenge.
Speaker: ah Mizutani got upset at that. And he was like, said his mom was in the sex industry. And this is the part we didn't know. he said that he died during sexual role play.
Speaker: Yeah. So for me, that took me right back to the beginning when he was so chill about everything and didn't seem to mind like anything in sex work, except when he had the chain on him. He was really upset about that.
Speaker: was going to say the chain. Yeah. um And he said he he like straight up said he needed someone to blame. And so, you know, basically, I guess I'm assuming what his train of thought was that, you know, his mother was in love with the politician and then he just left him like it was nothing And that he went to sex work because of that. And the politician has like this nice, glorious family, this wealth.
Speaker: And he had nothing. We actually end learning a little bit more later. um But of course, Kusaka is the sweet, precious boy he is. So he just hugs him and he apologizes him for not understanding.
Speaker: And he tells him that he won't leave him alone and that he wants to help bury the sadness that he feels. um And they cry and they hold each other. And then Mizutani's aunt that he's been staying with, she lets Kusaka stay over.
Speaker: And it actually turns out that the mom's sister was a very kind person. And she actually had ah wanted Mizutani to stay with her the whole time. But he didn't know that because all he knew was that like everyone was talking shit. And he just assumed that everyone's horrible and he never gave her a chance.
Speaker: um But on top of that, he like acknowledged that he forced solitude and being alone on himself and that he never gave her the chance. He never gave anyone the chance to be there for him. And then he said that he also he assumed his mom went into sex work because yeah Kusika's dad abandoned him.
Speaker: But he actually found out from his aunt that um his mom was um actually saving money to become a chef and that he was going to open up a restaurant.
Speaker: So the sex work wasn't like his bottom. It was actually his just his plan to get his own life and have his own life. Probably for the pay too. Yeah, yeah. he He just needed the money too. So he wanted to get certified. He was already in school. gentle He wanted to get certified as a chef and then he also wanted to buy a restaurant. So he was literally just doing it for the money. And he he did have, you know, a child that just happened.
Speaker: Did they get into that more? Yeah, I mean, so it really is just that he accidentally got pregnant by... a customer and he had his son. Um, so yeah, so he kind of, um, realized that so much of his loneliness he put on himself, he felt bad that he was the one who misjudged his mother and his, um, motives the whole time.
Speaker: He misjudged his aunt and he just kind of misjudged people in general and that people really could be there for him. Um, so there was a point, so yeah, when the aunt like let, um, kusaka come spend the night you know they're kind of like um are you like you're you okay with him spending the night and mizutani was even like we're teenagers you know and she was like no you're just kids and so um mizutani tells kusaka that he decided he's going to stay in the country with his family and he said his reasoning was because he's just a kid and it was kind of a sweet moment you know he's been through a lot he's a sex worker
Speaker: And, like, he's accepting for the first time that he's just a kid and he's allowed to just be a kid. um But he tells him that he'll return for college and that he wants to pursue his mom's dreams. So he... Yeah, right?
Speaker: So he kisses Kusika and he pushes him onto the train. And then as he's leaving on the train, they both yell, like, I love you at each other. and that's the official end. But we do have an epilogue. Okay. um Before we go in the epilogue, how are you feeling?
Speaker: Honestly, like...
Speaker: good for though a mega mom because when it was revealed that he was in school and stuff I'm like there's no no offense I was like there has to be more to why he's doing sex work then yeah I think he was always at a disadvantage so exactly the money to get him in school get him through school and live his dreams but he like never I don't know like And then being a single parent added on top of all of that, obviously. So the child must have happened. Maybe he might have been out of school when like he parted ways. I look good. I don't know when the child happened. Obviously it was after, you know, and he never had sex with the father either. So like, yeah first time I read things wrong and I like was like, wait, are they not worried that they're siblings? That was like, just never a thing.
Speaker: Yeah, no, it's just so fascinating just because like, yeah, they, They just added so much depth into these six fucking chapters. Exactly, right? i'm Okay, this is because of the little the things, but we've gone over an hour. i didn't think we'd go over an hour on this one. and We are wrapping things up. we're going the epilogue is extremely short. um Yeah, I probably didn't need to read the little, like, 101s in between, but I just thought that was too on point for us. Oh, 100%.
Speaker: ah one hundred percent up But yeah, like I really was surprised by the story, especially like I said, immediately got hit with the cliches I didn't want. I was like, we're in a high school, teachers being in a creep. Okay. um But yeah, I thought it was really good story. yeah Like, hey, at least he got away from the teacher. He got away from the teacher. Oh, they did mention that the teacher never showed up again. He never returned back to school. Like the teacher took the fuck off. So good. Yeah.
Speaker: Um, anyway, so now we will go into our epilogue. Like said, it's super short. Um, they just starts off a year after they've started college and they are living together in college. Um, immediately like Kusaka is just kind of you know, it's from his point of view and he's like, yeah, you know, we're, um,
Speaker: We were living and acting as lovers do. goes right They're now adults. They are definitely over 18. They're in college. So it goes right into them having sex. The one time we're allowed to be like yes, this is totally fine that these characters are having sex with each other. Finally. um It's not graphic at all. It's like two panels of them like having the most boring missionary sex you've ever seen in manga.
Speaker: Okay, manga does that. Manawa doesn't do that. Anyways, so they're having sex. Kusaka is worried that he's being too rough um and he's vocalizing that concern. Mizutani in his head is kind of thinking that he kind of secretly wishes he would be a bit rougher from time to time.
Speaker: But then he has a flashback to the first time that and again, this is while they're in college. um So Mizutani is thinking about the first time that he went into heat in front of Kusaka and that he was actually like begging him to have sex with him.
Speaker: And Kusuko was like, felt himself like losing himself and like losing self-control. But he was like, no, I don't, I don't want this. I, the first time that we have sex together, i want to be in my right mind and be there for it. So he actually pulls out a suppressant and jams it into Mizutani's leg.
Speaker: um And then me, so then Mizutani now in in this memory, he just thinks about how much he appreciates Kusuko's gentle and loving ways. Um, and then, yeah, it ends with them. They're eating together. Mizutani made dinner cause he's going to school himself, you know, to become a cook and he wants to open up a restaurant.
Speaker: And, um, Kusaka tells him that he's going to be a good wife because his home cooked meals are so good. um So Mizutani asks him when he's going to bite him. And of course, Kusaka is still just our like naive, innocent baby. And so he like freaks out a bit. And he says he's not going to be ready to do that until he's a real adult and until he finds his own dream.
Speaker: And it just ends in them like being cute and smiling at each other. Right? So sweet. So sweet, so nice. And the fact that the elf is just like this soft boy.
Speaker: Right? He's so sweet. i was, it actually did make me kind of think about the title. um And especially with the some things kind of have double meaning. Like how, i mean, really the very straightforward translation is like innocent, pure hearted boy or innocent boy.
Speaker: But then it's also could be pure hearted prostitute. And like, yeah, I'm like, who is it referring to actually? Which character is it? Wow. Yeah, so it was super fun to do a short one. Sorry, the episode's not actually short. Sorry to our editor, Gabby. But yeah, I super enjoyed that one and actually will. I was kind of like, oh, I'll do mangas from time to time.
Speaker: um i think i think I have more of a history with manga than you do, so I probably will be the one doing more mangas. However... Especially so we just had a long three-part episode of Loves and Illusion. So we do every once so while want to do these one-shot shorter stories. So I do think that's where manga will come in handy. But also um I don't think I've mentioned this before. I might have in another video that um even Omegaverse, I first started with manga. and i was reading more manga when I started.
Speaker: So for me, it was kind of nice to go back to that. That's totally fair. Yeah, I started with fan fiction and I just never got into manga. so it was interesting getting into manhwa.
Speaker: Yeah, my Omegaverse, like, yeah, my adventure of starting Omegaverse in manga was kind of short. I didn't read that many. And they were all these one-offs. Most of them were, like, and I'd like to find some of these and cover them again someday. Like, a lot of them were just, like, weird threesome things. And like, they were all just like really. So that's what I thought this was going to be kind of going into it. I had another story, but the other story wasn't like, um, marked as explicit. and i was like, that's kind of what we go for in this podcast. So i was like, okay, I'll just grab another. This one was.
Speaker: So not knowing nothing about it, I grabbed and went right into it. i was like, I was not expecting this heavy story. No, I wasn't either. Shit. But I'm happy. I really enjoyed it. So it did make me like, I will have more fun, I think with manga in the future and definitely go back to that.
Speaker: Definitely have a few monwas planned coming up. but I know I've delved into like some Chinese ones. So I will definitely cover some the Chinese side. So you got the Japanese side. I could get the Chinese side. Yeah, I think that's perfect. And then um I've told you a little bit about this, but I think neither of us like to read novels. So that's where we might in the future start having guests come in and help us out with that. I already have a few people who are interested. So they can read the long ass books with no pictures for us.
Speaker: Yeah, they can be creative. All right. Well, I guess let's just wrap this up. It was supposed to be our short one. It wasn't a short one, but I had good time. It's good to be back. I had fun. I had fun marinating.
Speaker: I had fun just listening. All right. All right. Thanks, guys. Thanks, guys. we will. I hope haven't said this before. We'll see you on the flop side.
