Introduction to Creating a Desired Life
00:00:00
Speaker
So I'm going to tell you a little story today, and it's basically about how I created the life that I've always wanted. Now, how did I get there? What did I do to get there? I'll dive into that later. But before we jump in, I just want to say thanks again for coming by and listening to what I have to say. This one
00:00:22
Speaker
really hits home for me because it was a long time coming and I realized last weekend that I'm basically where I want to be in life and that is wild to me. That is so wild to think about and actually sit back and reflect on my life and how I got here.
00:00:43
Speaker
Anyways, thanks for watching. I hope you enjoy this and let's just dive right into it.
Journey Through Past Jobs
00:00:49
Speaker
So let's just rewind the tape a long time ago. I used to have many different jobs. You know, I started out
00:00:59
Speaker
working at the fish plant. I used to offload the lobster, crab boats and stuff like that. I was a welder. I used to work on an assembly line, welding farm equipment. Literally the bell would ring and I would just be welding for three or four hours. And the bell would go again, you have your brake. You're basically like a robot. You're basically like a robot.
00:01:29
Speaker
So wild that I'd done that. I think I'd done that for four or five years, maybe even longer. I was a heavy equipment operator for a while, like working in mines and stuff like that, driving like heavy haulers, all sorts of different equipment. I was fracking in the oil fields for a couple of years. Just the things that I used to do for money
00:01:56
Speaker
It blows my mind right now.
Health Risks for Money: A Reflection
00:01:58
Speaker
It literally blows my mind I used to work at this plant where like I'd have to wear respirators and like Tyvex and like you would just be covered in chemicals and dust and I remember like my nose always being so congested and like my nose is just full of stuff all the time and
00:02:21
Speaker
And at the time, I never thought anything of it. I would never ever question it because guess what? I was making money. I was making money so I didn't care. I didn't care what I was doing. Never thought about my health or my life. There's times I used to put my life at risk on the job to get paid what? 30 bucks an hour? 35 bucks an hour? 40? Whatever it was.
00:02:48
Speaker
Couldn't be me now. It couldn't be me now. It's like, I mean, like if I have to go back to that, I will 100% because the life that I've created right now, I realize every single day that this can get taken away from me at any point. But I have to work really hard to stay here. Do you know what I mean?
00:03:10
Speaker
because it didn't just fall into my hands and everything was just handed to me and now I'm living the life that I'm living. It's definitely not. So I created this life. Now what is this life that I'm talking about, right? Basically, I used to do all of these jobs and when I was doing those jobs, I always remembered that. I always tell myself, there gotta be more.
00:03:40
Speaker
There gotta be more to life. There's no way that I can do this for the rest of my life.
Work vs. Personal Life: A Balance Dilemma
00:03:47
Speaker
Like how many hours and days, weeks, months did I spend away from home? Away from my family, my friends, my girlfriend?
00:03:57
Speaker
Just for money. I was so money driven all of the time. It's just any sitting a little bit of overtime that was available. I'd be the first one to ask. I'd be the first one to go in as running overtime this weekend, any overtime. Like I would work, I would get days off and I would work those days off. I never had a life. My life was so hectic all the time because all I did was work. And funny enough,
00:04:26
Speaker
When I actually think about it, I actually have more money now than what I did before when I was working all those hours. And I used to make a lot more before. So make sense of that. I used to make more before, making less now. I hope I'm going to eventually make more. Like I said, I'm creating this life.
00:04:47
Speaker
I would only imagine more opportunities and things are gonna come to me. But man, I guess I'm just better at saving money now. I don't know what it is, but I have more money now than what I did when I was working a lot, making a lot of money. Makes no sense to me whatsoever.
Passion for Videos vs. Traditional Job
00:05:04
Speaker
But anyways, I always would think that there gotta be more to this. There gotta be more to this life. And I knew there was. And I knew what I enjoyed doing. And what I enjoyed doing was creating stuff. Creating videos. I loved creating nice videos and editing them. That made me happy. I love going to the gym. I love just living my life.
00:05:33
Speaker
And that's all I wanted to do, but this job that I had basically has taken all my time away from doing that. I like to go explore, I like to go hiking, I like to just be out and having fun and enjoying my life. But I can't do that if I'm working all the time.
Transition to Content Creation
00:05:56
Speaker
Basically, I started working for Microsoft, right? This was a microdosing company. Now, let me just say, at that point in time, right, I was never a person to get online and talk and talk and talk and talk like I do right now. I definitely used to, but when I actually listened to old videos of myself talking, I don't know who that guy was.
00:06:24
Speaker
And just the way that I used to talk and how I used to talk and like the way I used to present myself was a lot different back then. And it's just, it's really mind blowing. So I started working with microcybin. I started microdosing.
00:06:41
Speaker
And I really like these, these guys were really great mentors for me. And I started listening to what they had to say. I started taking their advice. Like, like every single day I was just taking a little bit of advice, tweaking my life a little bit and listening to what they had to say. And my content start getting a little better, start getting a little better as, as, as always listening to them, right?
00:07:08
Speaker
Now, months into this, there was talks of me leaving my job to co-work with Microsoft, but I was always like, no man, I can't do that. Just a lifestyle that I have, I can't do that. I got bills to pay. I just can't imagine making this X amount of money to go do this and not really sure what I'm gonna make.
00:07:35
Speaker
So then I started thinking more, okay, what if I started doing online training? Because I do have a certificate in personal training. Never really done much of it, but I was like, okay, that's a route I can take.
00:07:51
Speaker
Started thinking more, started thinking more like I was just really scared to change what I've always known. And what I've always known is working for the man and getting a paycheck every single week. Collecting a paycheck every single week. It was comfortable, it was easy. I just had to show up and collect a paycheck.
00:08:14
Speaker
Right? That's what we are all taught to do. Is just show up, collect a paycheck. Get a job, go to school, and go work for the man. And have all your time taken from you. Now, that's all I've ever known. That's all I've ever known. And I was okay with that. But I knew that there was just something more. But I just didn't want to do it. I was too scared to take that chance.
Taking Risks for Personal Growth
00:08:44
Speaker
So it got to the point, and this was like one year ago, and this is why I'm making this video because I actually made a post the other day on Instagram, and the quote said, just take one year and become obsessed with creating a life that you want,
00:09:09
Speaker
And in the process, know that you deserve this and see how your life unfolds. So it's been one year since I left my job. So I did leave my job. I remember having a conversation with one of the guys from Microsoft. And I'll never forget it. I'll never forget it. He said, just take three months. Just take three months. Take three months and see what happens.
00:09:39
Speaker
And I thought that was, I thought that was insane. Taking three months off of work with no pay and not knowing where my money's gonna come from. Man, blew my mind. So you know what? I did it. It took three months. And I just started working with microsibon. I started, you know, my content start getting better.
Investing in Personal Development
00:10:04
Speaker
I just really, all this time that I used to have at work,
00:10:09
Speaker
I now have to myself and I never, never had this much time in my life to myself. What am I going to do with all this time now? Trust me, it was a big adjustment, not getting up, you know, driving to work, putting on my work boots, like having that routine. It was a big adjustment.
00:10:30
Speaker
But as time went on, you know, I really started focusing on myself and I really started investing in myself. I started putting a lot of time and energy into Adam and like it, trust me, it took a long time. Well, it's been a year. It's been a long time to really like get in my groove, know what I'm doing. And actually, I don't think anybody really knows what they're doing.
00:10:59
Speaker
because they're just doing the best that they can. They're going day by day. They're learning every single day. They're tweaking things. I created this podcast. Didn't really know where to start. Just started talking. I'm 24 episodes in now. I started a YouTube channel. I'm really trying to get myself everywhere. And I'm trying to make my content better every single day. And it has been. 100% it has been.
00:11:29
Speaker
I started listening to these guys. I started investing in myself. I started getting on calls, listening to people, telling me how can I create better content? What can I do to get better? And I took their advice. I went out and got a brand new iPhone. I went out and I just painted this back wall just for a better backdrop. I got a mic. I got a better camera, better lighting.
00:11:58
Speaker
And I just really started investing in myself. And when I started doing that, I noticed that my, my content was, was getting better. The way I was talking was getting better. I also did a course. Um, I did like this eight week course and honestly changed my life. It literally changed my life. The way that I was thinking and talking after that course, it's, it's, it's going to have an impact on me for the rest of my life. Now,
00:12:25
Speaker
That being said, I was also microdosing while all this was happening. So I was going through a lot of changes. But the main goal was create better content, just get better at shooting content, my online presence. Now, why am I doing this? A lot of people are always like, well, why are you posting so much?
00:12:48
Speaker
Because I'm investing in myself and there are so many companies and brands that want to work with people like myself that are online, that are creating amazing content and they will pay you. They will pay you to post about their products. You will get partnerships. You know, I met Michael Simon through online.
00:13:13
Speaker
I met eons through online and now I'm working for both of them. And I'm also working for this other marketing company that just reached out to me. And I did find that once my content started getting better, more and more companies started reaching out to me. And I'm always getting these partnerships now.
Building an Online Presence
00:13:36
Speaker
So when you really start investing in yourself and create your brand, like you are a business. And honestly, the reason why I am making this video right now is because I was kind of in a rut, to be honest. And it can be hard creating content all the time. Trust me, it can be really difficult.
00:14:01
Speaker
Sometimes I get on a roll and I'm just pumping a banger after banger after banger, but it can be difficult to be posting like this all the time. You have to be creative. So I'm sitting on the couch. I flick on this YouTube video by Dan Cole and he starts talking about basically what I'm talking about right now. It just hit me. It just really hit me. He was saying how you are your own business.
00:14:29
Speaker
And you have the, everybody has the ability to do this, what I'm doing right now. I created this life, I'm working from home. I have so much free time. I don't miss anything anymore. I get to go to basketball. I get to hang out with my friends.
00:14:47
Speaker
I get to hang out with my pets, my animals, I get to see my family, I get to hang out with my girlfriend more often. I'm getting to do all of these things that was taken away from me because I was working for the man and I had to be on the clock.
00:15:06
Speaker
Like I said, everybody has the ability to do this. Anybody can start a page, start an Instagram page, start a YouTube, start a TikTok, start making videos, start putting it out there.
00:15:20
Speaker
It doesn't matter what you're into. I personally, I post a lot of fitness outside and I talk about mushrooms a lot. And that has, just by me doing that, that has got me a lot of partnerships and now I'm good financially and I get to work from home and that's what I wanna do.
00:15:42
Speaker
I get to edit videos, I get to make videos, I get to create, I get to work on my own time, but I gotta show up. I can't just not do anything and not post. You know what I mean? This is a job, but I don't really consider it a job because I enjoy doing these things. I enjoy talking, I enjoy creating videos, I enjoy making content. This is something that I actually enjoy so it doesn't feel like work to me.
00:16:09
Speaker
and I've never had that, never had that in my entire life. I've always worked these jobs where, trust me, I've had fun at some of those jobs I used to work at, but nobody wants to get up.
00:16:21
Speaker
and go fracking for three weeks at a time. Nobody wants to get up and weld in the scorching heat for hours and hours at a time. I don't care who you are. No one wants to do that. Everybody wants time. Everybody just wants to live. And the way that the world is right now, you have the ability to do that. You have the ability to create the life that you want. You just gotta figure out what you want. What are you gonna do? How are you gonna do it?
00:16:52
Speaker
Now, like I said, in this year, I really focused on myself. I really invested in myself. I really took a lot of time to myself. And I just am always trying to get better every single day, trying to get better at talking, trying to get better at communicating, trying to get better at editing, trying to get better at creating content, everything. And when I just keep leveling up,
00:17:19
Speaker
more partnerships are gonna come because people are watching you all the time. People are looking at your pages. People are scrolling through. Companies are saying, oh, we could definitely get him to partner up. We can pay him this amount of money. This is things that are happening.
Inspiration and Starting Content Creation
00:17:36
Speaker
you could start a podcast. People will listen to your podcast. If you build up your podcast, you'll start getting partnerships with your podcast. You can make a YouTube channel. You can literally have a YouTube channel and you don't even have to show your face. You can just take clips of other things and do a voiceover. There's channels like that that are getting millions of views, making a lot of money. You can make a lot of money on YouTube.
00:18:04
Speaker
I understand it's hard to grow, but like you got to start somewhere. You know what I mean? You can't, you can't just be like, Oh, well, you know, I'm never going to grow. Think about like Mr. Beast or like, where did he start from? I actually watched Mr. It's worth your while to watch Mr. Beast's documentary. Cause like he just started out as a kid getting no views at all. And now he's getting almost 500 million, 400 million making,
00:18:33
Speaker
millions and millions of dollars just creating content because that is the world that we live in right now and anybody can do it.
From Employee to Self-Employed
00:18:43
Speaker
So this is how I created the life that I wanted. It's been exactly one year. I was terrified, terrified to leave my job and leave that money that I thought I really needed.
00:18:59
Speaker
It's been one year, I'm still here, I'm still surviving, I'm still paying my bills, I'm still eating, I'm still enjoying life, I'm still going out, going to dinner, doing everything that I wanna do. And now I have just all this extra free time. But I use my time to create and do the things that I love and enjoy my life. It's nice, I gotta say, it's really nice.
00:19:28
Speaker
That's basically how I switched my entire life from working for the man to working for myself. And it's great. So I hope that you guys maybe resonated with this video. Just think about it. One year.
Year of Focus on Self-Investment
00:19:52
Speaker
One year is nothing. It actually feels like it was Christmas not that long ago, and it's June already. One year goes by so fast. You know this. Just spend one year extremely focused on yourself. Invest in yourself. If you wanna drone, if you're living, whatever it is, take a course. Do anything. Invest in you.
00:20:22
Speaker
Don't stop wasting your money on nonsense. Invest in yourself, get better at what you're doing, try to learn every single day, focus on what you want in your life, and really start working towards that. And it's gonna come a time where you gotta make a leap.
Conclusion: Encouragement to Take Risks
00:20:43
Speaker
And, you know, for me,
00:20:46
Speaker
When I made that leap, it was a very hard decision. I didn't want to do it. I was very confused on what to do, trust me, but I believe that I was directed in the path that I'm supposed to be on and I chose the right path and now I'm here.
