Introduction and Context
00:00:04
Speaker
All my years of using Zoom, I've actually never recorded anything on my phone before. but All guys, it's lovely to see you today. is looking incredibly green right now. Shimrock's are everywhere because St. Patrick's is a just around the corner.
00:00:29
Speaker
so we're all getting very set for that.
Chronology and Cultural Practices of Job
00:00:32
Speaker
So today we main story today is looking at Job. Now might wondering how we went all way from Noah
00:00:44
Speaker
so they we are on episode or of jesus in the old testaments and and the main story today is looking at dobe now you might be wondering how we went all the way from noah last week to the Book of Job today.
00:01:05
Speaker
It's because i wanted to do it as chronologically as possible. So even though the Book of Job is in the middle of the Old Testament, the story of Job actually happens somewhere between days of Noah and the days of Moses.
00:01:25
Speaker
So if we look at it logically, I think it will all just make a lot more sense in the long run. normally i have like a PowerPoint on the screen, even have one made. However, my laptop has just decided that it does not want to know what the internet is and it refuses to connect.
00:01:48
Speaker
but but I'm recording this one on my phone instead. And But I will put the PowerPoint on the WhatsApp chat afterwards. So that way you'll be able to see what the Bible verses were.
00:02:07
Speaker
So and the big question about Job is when did it happen? Because as far as Bible stories go, the book of Job is very much in a league of its own.
00:02:21
Speaker
Very original. He truly is one of a kind. Now, in Job, chapter 22, verses 15 to 16, they actually talk about the great flood from last week's episode, washing away the Nephilim.
00:02:41
Speaker
And it says, Will you keep to the old way that wicked men have trod? They were snatched away before their time. Their foundation was washed away, poured out as a river,
00:02:54
Speaker
by a flood. So the Great Flood was still very much in people's cultural memory. It was still very much a time when people were like, well, we know what happened.
00:03:08
Speaker
Even if you read Job, there are references, you know, to ah snowy mountains and and and lots of ice. So the impact of the Great Flood was probably still very evident.
00:03:24
Speaker
Also, in Job chapters 1, in chapter 42, verse 8, it talks about Job performing animal sacrifices, burning animals.
00:03:39
Speaker
It's a way of making atonement for himself and for his children. So saying, just in case we've sinned, or I know that we've sinned,
00:03:53
Speaker
So I'm going sacrifice this animal. Therefore, the Lord. will ah he please That was more common.
00:04:05
Speaker
In the days before Moses, Moses brought the law the Lord's to the people of Israel. It's kind of burning the animals and for the forgiveness of you and your family.
00:04:21
Speaker
So common then, but much more common beforehand.
00:04:26
Speaker
Also, his wealth was measured in how much livestock he had. And that was very, very common in the days of the patriarchs.
00:04:40
Speaker
Again, the guys that we were looking at this week. Animals you had determined your wealth. Actually, we're told that In the land of Uz in the east where he lived, Job was the richest, most prosperous and
00:05:00
Speaker
We're also given a clue in Job 42, 15. The women will be happy with this one, where Job had seven sons and three daughters in the second half of his life.
00:05:14
Speaker
And actually all of them got an inheritance. From the days of Moses, it was more common to be the firstborn male. Probably a picture, really, of Jesus being the firstborn son of God and inheriting everything from God.
00:05:29
Speaker
But in the days of Job, he made sure that all of his kids were equally wealthy after he died.
00:05:42
Speaker
Also with his lifespans. When the story of Job happened, he was 140. When the story of Job ends, he's 280.
00:05:56
Speaker
if you look before the flood, people were living into their 900s as a matter, of course. i mean, it's no wonder that they were performing the wicked evil that they were. Look at how long they lived.
00:06:10
Speaker
Think about evil people can be In our time, and they might only live for 70, 80 years, 50 or 60 of those as adults, but imagine in their time living for almost a millennium, it makes, it's no surprise that they made the most phenomenal architectural buildings, that they had technology that it was so incredibly superior and phenomenal, and that
00:06:42
Speaker
Their propensity for great wickedness was so vast. After the flood, people's lifespan dropped very, very steeply, very, very quickly.
00:06:55
Speaker
But that's also a clue for us that Job's story happened somewhere between great flood ending and the life of Moses, who we'll be looking at in just a few short weeks.
Character and Integrity of Job
00:07:12
Speaker
Now, what is though impressive of Job? Well, in Job chapter one, verse one, he is described as blameless, upright, fearing God and turning away from evil.
00:07:31
Speaker
Four excellent qualities. So to say that he was blameless does not mean sinless. okay The guy had lived for 140 years. Obviously, he had made his fair share of mistakes.
00:07:47
Speaker
you know None of us have lived anywhere near 140 years. Think of all the times you've messed up. So he wasn't sinless, but he was blameless.
00:07:59
Speaker
That means he was in a right relationship with the Lord. And when the Lord has forgiven you, he remembers your sins no more.
00:08:11
Speaker
He was upright. He was a man of integrity. If he f I love the Lord, when you looked at him, he lived like someone who loved the Lord.
00:08:24
Speaker
he said, a family man, I love my family, when you looked at his life, the evidence was very, very abundantly clear that he loved his family. He loved his community.
00:08:36
Speaker
had a high position, and he did it without. And maybe looking after people's hearts. And taking care of those under his care.
00:08:49
Speaker
He was a good steward of the resources God had given him. We're told that he feared God. That means he had a reverential fear, a respect of the Lord.
00:09:01
Speaker
That he knew, okay, the Lord is up here and I'm with you down here. And he lived like it. He did not live but like he was good at him.
00:09:12
Speaker
and turning away from evil. You know, some Christians try to avoid using words like evil or thin. Instead, they kind of water it down.
00:09:25
Speaker
No one ever does evil or thin. They just make mistakes. They just had a bad day. Just had a slippage. But actually, God hates evil.
00:09:37
Speaker
And we are commanded in the word in the New Testament to hate evil, to resist evil, and to expose evil. And in Genesis, we see in life Joseph, if you're tempted to do evil, you run away from it.
00:09:57
Speaker
You flee from it. You don't stand there, pray for 30 minutes and have a conversation. You run. You get the heck out of Dodge. Because temptation is tailor-made for you as an individual.
00:10:11
Speaker
But he hated evil. He turned his back on the darkness. So did he still sin every once in a while? Yeah. But daily he would offer animal sacrifices, a print animal sacrifice on his behalf and on behalf of his children. he had led them in the ways of the Lord.
00:10:33
Speaker
But just in case they had said anything, thought if anything or done anything, displeasing to the Lord's. They would sacrifice these animals. a And as a picture saying, Lord, our sin is now burnt, burnt away. It's been dealt with.
00:10:55
Speaker
And in right relationship and so with you.
00:11:03
Speaker
Where Job is such an interesting book.
Satan's Role and Heavenly Court Drama
00:11:08
Speaker
is it starts off by telling us little bits about the man, enough for us to like him. Then the story changes to the court of heaven, where the Lord is sitting on his throne, and he summons the sons of God, angelic beings, before him, before his throne.
00:11:33
Speaker
I don't know if you could put a number There were many angels ludded into heaven before him in that moment.
00:11:43
Speaker
But they were not just the good ones. Satan decided to crash the party, and he was in attendance as well. Now, as the story of Job progresses, you realize Job at this point actually doesn't really know mean anything about the devil.
00:12:01
Speaker
He has incredibly, he might know that there are evil spirits, maybe, but he has no real understanding of the nature ofs spiritual warfare. But Satan is in his midst.
00:12:13
Speaker
The Lord, and we know it's Jesus, because John 1.18 says no one had ever seen God the Father except the Son up that point.
00:12:24
Speaker
So here we're talking about Jesus on the throne. And Jesus looks at him and says, where have you been? What have you been doing?
00:12:37
Speaker
Where have you come from?
00:12:42
Speaker
Think of, you know, if our parents on the call, maybe you tell your children, OK, dinner is at five o'clock. I need to back home at 430. Go play with your friends. Be here at 430.
00:12:55
Speaker
And then your children just kind of walk in like, you know, 6 p.m. All cockily. And you're like, excusez moi? Do you have a watch?
00:13:07
Speaker
You just didn't allow me your phone? What time to call this? I said, where's Hershey? Where have you been? And your kids go around.
00:13:19
Speaker
With my friends. Whatever. Place to place. That's how Satan speaks back to Jesus. He just says, Been here and there. Been to and fro.
00:13:34
Speaker
Going back and forth. Now I can tell you exactly where he was. but but The Bible tells us in John 10 10 that he comes to steal, kill and destroy. First Peter 5 8 tells us that he runs all around the world looking for people to devour in the manner of a lion.
00:13:55
Speaker
In Genesis chapter 3, we're told that man was made from the dust and Satan would spend his life devouring the dust, devouring humans.
00:14:06
Speaker
So basically, he's just been running around the earth killing people. That's what he's been doing.
00:14:19
Speaker
maybe we're bit comfortable knowing there's a devil but not knowing too much about him. I've been in churches where you're actually discouraged from knowing too much about angels and demons, in case you got into theology.
00:14:33
Speaker
But I see it. Biblical. God wants you to know it. So let's look at a little bit of what Satan had been getting up to while just going around to and fro.
00:14:48
Speaker
In John 10.10, which was originally written in Greek,
00:14:53
Speaker
We're told the enemy, the thief, the devil, comes to steal. In Greek, that means to filch, to steal secretly and with stealth, to commit a theft.
00:15:12
Speaker
We're told he comes to steal, to kill. To kill means to offer as a spiritual sacrifice by fire. burn you.
00:15:25
Speaker
Have ever heard someone say, oh, I've just been so burned by life? Spiritual warfare, demonic. It means to butcher. We had that last week where Cain butchered Abel.
00:15:38
Speaker
And Lamech butchered the young man.
00:15:43
Speaker
it means to give up to destruction. To immolate, to slaughter, to slay.
00:15:52
Speaker
We're told in John 10.10, he comes to steal, to kill, to destroy. to destroy in the Greek means to mar. To utterly perish. To bring about the death.
00:16:08
Speaker
To cut off entirely. To permanently, absolutely destroy. cancel out. To remove.
00:16:20
Speaker
who ruin. ruin. into cause to be lost by experiencing a miserable wound. That is what the devil does to human beings every single day.
00:16:38
Speaker
He is not sorry for it. He is very cavalier about it. He gets off on
00:16:46
Speaker
Matthew 10, 25 describes him as, Some translate the Beelzebub, the Lord of Flies Dung and Feces like crap. Because that is what sin smells like.
00:16:59
Speaker
Take my word for it. I've smelled it twice. it can also be translated Beelzebul. Beelzebul is a name for the devil. It means the Lord.
00:17:13
Speaker
Not as in the Lord God, but the Lord or the master of a courtroom. a magistrate in judicial proceedings. Sometimes you might hear people say, but the enemy has a legal right to attack you. That's what this means.
00:17:32
Speaker
He knows the law. He hates the Bible. But he knows it word for word.
00:17:39
Speaker
And if people are tiptoeing with the darkness, complicit with the darkness,
00:17:50
Speaker
entertaining or carrying the darkness, the enemy says, we've got something in common, and so I have a right to attack you.
00:18:01
Speaker
It doesn't mean every time something goes bad in your life, the devil had a foothold. He's an evil enemy. He fights dirtily.
00:18:11
Speaker
But we shouldn't make it easy for him. And if you do have something in common with the darkness, It means you're vulnerable to the Demarcus.
00:18:26
Speaker
And last Bible verse before we move on from Satan. Revelation chapter 12, verse 9. It gives four names for Satan. We had four good names or descriptions of Job. now we've got the four bad ones of the devil.
00:18:44
Speaker
One is the great dragon.
00:18:48
Speaker
That means he's a fabulous serpent. He's the seeing one, the seer. He had a prophetic gift when he was an angel.
00:19:00
Speaker
To have incredible insight. To spot his prey. That's human beings. And to indirectly persuade pagan governments.
00:19:14
Speaker
And in case you think paganism always looks like, you know, drumming around a campfire like a very governed Western world, with very few exceptions, is a pagan government.
00:19:27
Speaker
To indirectly persuade pagan governments to accomplish his agenda as he works from behind the scenes.
00:19:39
Speaker
He is called the ancient serpent in Revelation 12 and 9 as well. This means a primeval serpent. You kind of get, you know, Genesis chapter three vibes.
00:19:50
Speaker
Sly. Punning. Artfully malicious.
00:19:59
Speaker
He's made killing people an art form.
00:20:04
Speaker
Deceptive. To have sharpness of vision.
00:20:10
Speaker
He's also called the devil. People sometimes get so familiar with these words, and they don't actually know what they mean. The devil means a false accuser.
00:20:27
Speaker
Malicious gossip. When I was a teenager, I loved gossip. it was so much fun. When you begin to realize gossip is speaking the devil's native tongue, you're going to have reassess.
00:20:45
Speaker
To unjustly criticize or hurt. There are times to criticize. There are times to tell people to up their game and uphold the standard. Being critical just to damage people, to make them feel inferior, make yourself superior. That's the devil's speech.
00:21:05
Speaker
To malign. To condemn, to sever relationships. A backbiter. Hello. Hello. And to make charges that bring people down.
00:21:21
Speaker
Think of, you know, if you've ever known someone who was hauled into a court case and you knew that they were innocent. That's what the devil does.
00:21:31
Speaker
And Revelation 12, 9 gives him a fourth name. The great dragon, ancient serpent, the devil and Satan. That means the adversary, the accuser.
00:21:44
Speaker
So in the presence of Jesus and all those angels that he summoned, the devil just... So then, if you've ever been under the impression that the devil is trapped in hell, that theological nonsense.
Job's Trials and Suffering
00:21:59
Speaker
Totally and utterly biblically confounded. He can still enter the world of heaven. When you go to heaven, you're not going to see him walking down the streets, okay? You'll be fine. There are There might be like one room in heaven he still goes into.
00:22:15
Speaker
courtroom. But he still has access to the sky. He still has wings. That idea of, o God clips the devil's wings. I don't know where that came from, but it's not biblically accurate.
00:22:30
Speaker
But he's been running around just killing people, causing destruction, destroying lives. Jesus just as you considered...
00:22:42
Speaker
My servant, Job. Isn't he brilliant? Isn't he great? Jesus just talked up one of his kids.
00:22:51
Speaker
Satan, because he is a gossip and a backbiter and a defamer and he maliciously twists everything like a snake, coiling and twisting, changing.
00:23:04
Speaker
He does not have a good opinion about anybody. He chooses to see the worst in everybody. And he says, ah, he only loves you because, you know, you've made him so rich. Because he's so blessed materially.
00:23:22
Speaker
But strip all that away. You'd see what he's really like. He'd curse you. But integrity he's known for, it wouldn't last.
00:23:34
Speaker
And so, he afflicted Job. Satanic spiritual warfare. Job versus the original OG big bad.
00:23:48
Speaker
And in one day, Satan slaughtered Job's ten children. His livestock obliterated.
00:24:03
Speaker
And really began to poison his marriage. Or even his wife was like, for goodness sakes, would you not just curse God already and hurry up and die?
00:24:15
Speaker
You live in an absolute misery here. Just curse God so God will strike you with a lightning bolt. And he came back for seconds and he inflicted Job with sores and boils on head to toe.
00:24:31
Speaker
That he just sat on a pile of dirt. Outside, mourning that everything he'd built had been lost. Everything he'd been blessed with had been taken from him.
00:24:46
Speaker
I began to get a bit of broken pottery and that's quite close to self-harming, the way the Bible describes it. Just to try to itch, scratch the boils and find some degree of relief.
00:25:02
Speaker
me Job cursed the day of his birth. They say, God, it would be better if I had never been born, if I if i didn't live, just felt into total, abject depression.
00:25:20
Speaker
But in Job's, in the midst of Job's misery, some of his friends came along, three friends, and then some random guy who wasn't his friend, but came along anyway. And...
00:25:33
Speaker
They came to comfort him, but for the first week, they couldn't speak. They just sat there looking at him in his misery. And when they finally did decide to speak, they were miserable comforters.
00:25:47
Speaker
To very hollow understanding of the nature of suffering. Things that you know would make sense if you heard them.
00:26:00
Speaker
Until you apply them to like any real-life situation, then you realize that it doesn't hold up. But they had all these you know Eastern philosophies about good versus evil, suffering, rewards, curses, punishments.
00:26:12
Speaker
And without any of them understanding the demonic realm at all, they laced into him. They said, listen, this is all your fault. You're responsible.
00:26:23
Speaker
You must have done something. You got a secret sin, Job. You bad boy. And... God's punishing you because you're a dirtbag, because you're scum, because you do you deserve it. We know you do.
00:26:37
Speaker
And I believe it was only years later when Job was writing this story under the inspiration of Holy Spirit that he even realized anything about the devil.
00:26:48
Speaker
At the time, none of them seemed to know anything about demons and devils, not really.
00:26:57
Speaker
But he does say something very interesting in chapter 23, verses 3 to 7. And I know it's a bit difficult this time, just having to hear it because I can't get the PowerPoint working.
00:27:10
Speaker
But it will be on the WhatsApp chat for you afterwards.
00:27:16
Speaker
And he says, oh that I knew how to find him, that I might come to his home. He's talking about someone who would stand in the gap. mediator.
00:27:30
Speaker
Someone who would say, Job's innocent. I've got your buddy. I've got your pal.
00:27:37
Speaker
I would present my case before him and fill my mouth with arguments.
00:27:44
Speaker
I would learn the words which he would answer and perceive what he would tell me. Would he contend with me by the greatness of his power? No. Surely he would pay attention to me.
00:27:58
Speaker
Here, the upright would argue with him, and I would be free of my judge forever. Because again, he thinks someone's judging him, realize it's the devil who's hurting him.
00:28:08
Speaker
All he's doing here is he's saying, if only I had an advocate. If only I had a mediator. If only someone one in the heavens was on my side.
00:28:19
Speaker
If only someone would stand in the gap. Right now, i am being assaulted seven ways to someday if only someone would stand in front of me and say, hey, hands off, Job. He's my friend. He's a good man. He's begging for this.
00:28:36
Speaker
Doesn't think it'll ever happen. He's just thinking out loud.
Prophecies of Jesus
00:28:41
Speaker
But little does he realize he's actually accidentally prophesying Jesus.
00:28:49
Speaker
The one who would be our mediator. It would be our advocate, the one who would intercede for us in heaven, the one who would say, I've seen the good, the bad, and the ugly of your life. I'm going to bless you.
00:29:04
Speaker
You're my child. I call you holy. I call you good. I call you clean. call you forgiven. i say the debt is paid. That's what Job's looking for.
00:29:16
Speaker
didn't think would happen, but that's exactly who our Jesus is.
00:29:24
Speaker
And the image of Jesus as a judge is actually ah very common image throughout the Bible. i'm just going to read a few for you in the Old and New Testament. and We see it in David's life a lot. 1 Samuel on the run from Saul, and he writes a number of psalms and sings the psalms, worships and praises at the psalms.
00:29:48
Speaker
or Through the psalms, he's on the run from the king. Matthew's He says, you know, Lord, vindicate me. Judge my actions.
00:29:59
Speaker
Judge my enemies. Be my vindicator. See that I'm innocent. Those people are guilty. He's using courtroom language. He knew that the Lord had a courtroom in heaven.
00:30:13
Speaker
He was saying, I want court in session. Then I will be found innocent. My in enemies will be found guilty. that the court of heaven's decision would be made manifest on the earth.
00:30:28
Speaker
Isaiah 11, 3 to 4 says this, And he, this is Jesus now, will delight in the fear of the Lord. And he will not judge but what his eyes see, nor make decisions, but his ears hear, but with righteousness he will judge the poor.
00:30:47
Speaker
And decide with fairness for the humble of the earth. He will strike the earth with a rod of his mouth. With the breath of his lips, he will slay the wicked.
00:31:00
Speaker
In John chapter 5, 22 to 23, Jesus speaking about the father here and himself. And he says, for not even the father judges anyone, but he has given all judgment to the son.
00:31:15
Speaker
When people think of judgment day, they think of God as they you know really, really angry. And Jesus is like, Daddy, Jesus is the judge. So that all will honor the son, just that they honor the father.
00:31:29
Speaker
The one who does not honor the son does not honor the father who sent him.
00:31:37
Speaker
Because you know the father by knowing Jesus. So if you hate Jesus, you don't love God the father. You can't. They're two separate persons, but they have exactly the same opinions on everything.
00:31:53
Speaker
John chapter 9, 39. And Jesus said, for judgment, I came into this world so that those who do not see may see and those who see may become blind.
00:32:08
Speaker
They were the ones who thought that they were so amazing. They a bloated self image, but God's opinion of them was very different because he saw the sin on the inside.
00:32:21
Speaker
And 2 Corinthians 5, 10. This is written by the Apostle Paul. It says, for we, and this is everybody, we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ. This is the bima seat of Christ.
00:32:36
Speaker
So that each may receive compensation for his deeds done through the body in accordance with what he has done, whether good or bad. Now, you sometimes Christians get really, really spooked and afraid when they think of standing in court in heaven. They're like,
00:32:53
Speaker
When, where, what, when we... This for us is at the end of time. why You do not find yourself before the judgment seat of Jesus as soon as you die.
00:33:06
Speaker
If you believe that Jesus is the Lord, he's the master, he's the boss, and that his blood, his sacrifice and resurrection was sufficient for the forgiveness of all sin, you are his child. His Holy Spirit lives within you. You and God are good.
00:33:26
Speaker
So what happens is when you die, go heaven and you get a certain amount of certain number of rewards, you know, for a job well done because he's delighted to see you and there is no poverty in heaven.
00:33:40
Speaker
But at the end of time, everyone will come before his judgment seat. This is not where he reconsiders. And says, you know what? You've been here for 127 years now. But actually, don't think you're a good fish. pulled the web arms It's not like it. Okay? He's Jesus.
00:34:02
Speaker
There's a book of life. And your name isn't. But there's a book of deeds. And when he goes through that book, he'll open it up.
00:34:13
Speaker
And he'll say, OK, on the 10th of March, I told you to speak to someone that you were sitting beside on the bus. They were very depressed. A kind word from you would have changed their day.
00:34:26
Speaker
You didn't do it, did you? No. And then maybe he's like, I was going to give you a car. And he's like, he ain't getting the car. And I'd say, OK, on the twenty second of June you to...
00:34:40
Speaker
i told you to give five euros to a homeless man. You did. Because of that, he went to a cafe, spent five euros and a cup of coffee, because that's what they got now. The barista invited him to our church. He got saved and won 500 people from me.
00:35:02
Speaker
So here's an airplane. This kind of thing. It's not about revoking your salvation. It's an extra reward. Okay?
00:35:13
Speaker
So you think of Judgment Day for Christians, don't be afraid. A lot of Christians use Judgment Day as emotional and spiritual blackmail. It's great for me.
00:35:26
Speaker
I hate to see God's people being manipulated like that.
00:35:34
Speaker
Now, there is another story about the port of heaven.
Divine Intervention and Advocacy
00:35:41
Speaker
I wish Job had known this. It would have changed his perspective on a lot of things. I'm going to read this for you. It's from a little book in the Old Testament toward the end called Zechariah.
00:35:52
Speaker
not a book people read too often, but he has some mad visions, but wonderful revelation. And Zechariah chapter three, verses one to ten, it says this.
00:36:05
Speaker
Then he showed me Joshua, the high priest. Standing before the angel of the Lord. The angel of the Lord with a capital a does not mean a person like it with wings.
00:36:17
Speaker
It means the messenger of the Lord. It's actually a name for Jesus. Now we're going look at this in more detail when we look at Moses. But the angel Lord here is actually the pre-incarnate Jesus.
00:36:31
Speaker
Jesus before he ever was conceived by Mary. So the high priest, Joshua, was standing before Jesus and Satan, standing at his right side to accuse him.
00:36:44
Speaker
but lord jesus bed to theton The Lord, the Lord rebuke you, Satan. I love that Jesus talking about himself the third person, because why not? When you're Jesus, you can do these things.
00:36:56
Speaker
The Lord who has chosen in Jerusalem rebuke you. Is not this man a burning stick snatched from the fire? Firebrand.
00:37:08
Speaker
He had been burning away in sin. And the Lord reached out. Sorry, reached in and pulled him out.
00:37:20
Speaker
Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before it the messenger, the Lord Jesus. The word filthy there and the Hebrew actually means feces. Feces.
00:37:36
Speaker
It's like he's standing there dressed clothes that are just covered in crap that might as well have been scooped out from the toilet. And it's specifically human feces, human excrement.
00:37:51
Speaker
And I remember on two occasions the Lord giving me dreams, warning me about people in my life with sinister intentions. And just to make sure that I...
00:38:04
Speaker
heard him very clearly and he got my attention, I could actually smell species my dream. I could smell sin. The stink and stench of sin.
00:38:16
Speaker
And let me tell you, I woke up gagging. was like, ugh. Because the smell went the whole way to the pit of my stomach. sin has a smell.
00:38:30
Speaker
Even here in the spirit realm, Josh was cocked up into but mean he's He's alive, he's caught up into heaven. And he's wearing robes that are just covered in filth.
00:38:41
Speaker
The filth of his sin on the earth.
00:38:47
Speaker
But look at what Jesus said. Then Jesus said to Joshua, See, I've taken away your sin. All the times you've missed the mark, I've taken away your evil.
00:39:00
Speaker
And I will put rich garments on you. Then Zechariah, who's witnessing all this in a vision, but he's able to communicate with them. He says, the clean turban on his head.
00:39:13
Speaker
Jesus thinks this is a great idea. So he's like, OK, there you go
00:39:18
Speaker
And then the angel messenger of the Lord Jesus gave this charge to Joshua. This is what the Lord Almighty says. If you will walk in my ways and keep my requirements.
00:39:30
Speaker
Then you will govern my house and have charge of my court. I'll give you a place among those standing here. Listen, oh high priest Joshua and your associates seated before you, who are men symbolic of things to come.
00:39:47
Speaker
I'm going to bring my servant, the branch. That's the name for Jesus. He's saying I'm going to send myself. See the stone I've set in front of Joshua. There are seven eyes in that one stone and I'll engrave an inscription on it.
00:40:02
Speaker
And I will remove sin of my people in just one day. That day, each of you will invite his neighbor. And you'll sit under a vine and a fig tree.
00:40:14
Speaker
Again, a vine is a name for Jesus. He says, I'm the vine, you're the branches. And a fig tree, you might remember a few weeks ago when our Garden of Eden teaching. That's what Adam and Eve, they were hiding behind a fig tree. They tried to make a covering for themselves from fig leaves.
00:40:33
Speaker
So you're not going to have to hide from him anymore. no shame. You're going perfectly at one and at peace with Jesus.
00:40:45
Speaker
So next time you find yourself under spiritual warfare or you're being attacked by intrusive thoughts, things are going and wrong, you find your life is looking a lot like Job. Everything everything just went what everything went crazy. went wicked and you don't know where it all came from.
00:41:06
Speaker
Think of Joshua in that court of heaven. That the enemy is like, yes you know, filthy, stum, wicked, dirty, smells like a toilet.
00:41:18
Speaker
And Jesus says, know your claim. I've washed you. I've put my holiness on you. It's just as if you'd never sinned.
00:41:29
Speaker
You're mine. You're good. And you declare that the verdict of the court of heaven will be seen on the earth in your time.
00:41:45
Speaker
You know what? Also very beautiful and no doubt intentional is Joshua's name is very similar to Jesus' name. You know, Jesus is a Greek name.
00:41:57
Speaker
and But actually, Jesus' contemporaries 2,000 years ago would have called him Yeshua. So Joshua, Yeshua, the Lord is salvation.
00:42:11
Speaker
The Lord saves. The Lord's a savior. The Lord's a rescuer. The Lord's a deliverer. The Lord will take care of you. He'll beat back your enemies and secure victory for you.
00:42:23
Speaker
That's what the name Joshua means. what the name Jesus, Yeshua, means. So no matter how bad it gets, even think of a The fact that of all the names the high priest could have had, it was Joshua. It was Jesus saying, yeah, he's that picture of me.
00:42:44
Speaker
He's a picture of what I'm going to do. Something amazing, and something awesome. Something that's going to save and rescue the multitudes.
00:42:55
Speaker
So after dozens of chapters of Job's friends, friends, condemning him, telling him what a bad person he was.
00:43:09
Speaker
You know, you're a bad Christian. You're a sinner. You must have done something. These things don't happen to just anyone for no reason.
00:43:21
Speaker
Castle Black, you're complaining about your problems, Job. What have you done?
00:43:27
Speaker
Finally, the Lord speaks. Jesus appears. It's called a theophany or a Christophany. It's when Jesus appears in the Old Testament, long before Mary ever got pregnant with him.
00:43:40
Speaker
And people were able to see him. And the Bible says that he appeared in a hurricane. He appeared in a monsoon. He appeared in a tempest.
00:43:51
Speaker
This massive storm broke out when the Lord Jesus was in storm. And they could look up, and I'm sure they were freaking
00:44:05
Speaker
And they were probably even more scared when he began speaking audibly from tempest hurricane.
00:44:15
Speaker
And the interesting thing is, that point, Jesus doesn't say, It's me, Job! It was the temple! Jesus has very strong self-esteem, okay? He doesn't go into all that.
00:44:27
Speaker
Instead, Job has been blaming God for everything that's gone wrong in his life.
God’s Wisdom and Job’s Humility
00:44:37
Speaker
And Jesus just says, well, you know what?
00:44:41
Speaker
Do you know how amazing I am? Do you know how holy I am? you know powerful I am? Do you know how my ways are so far above human ways?
00:44:52
Speaker
My understanding is so much further up and higher than human understanding. My perspective on things.
00:45:03
Speaker
It precedes your own.
00:45:06
Speaker
as Jesus doesn't start blaming the devil for everything wrong. you just said, fix your eyes on me. Stop looking at the situation. Stop complaining about your problems.
00:45:18
Speaker
Stop telling people who don't care how miserable you are. Look at me.
00:45:26
Speaker
few weeks ago, when we looked Genesis chapter 1, looked at how Jesus made... light. He shone his own light. He made the earth. He made the sky. made the heavens. He made, you know, everything.
00:45:42
Speaker
That's what Jesus tells him now. He basically starts talking in chapter 38, all over 41, about creation week. And he says, where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Please understand.
00:46:01
Speaker
Starts off its dimensions. Surely you know. Yes, Jesus can be sarcastic. He is the word of God. He's got a personality. Who stretched a measuring line across it?
00:46:13
Speaker
and What were its footing set? Or who laid its cornerstone? While the morning stars sang together. so he's saying, I also made the angels. I made the supernatural and physical realm.
00:46:28
Speaker
He says that he's the creator of time. In verse 12, have you ever given orders to the morning or shown the dawn its place?
00:46:40
Speaker
He says he is the God of the In chapter 38, verse 22 to 24, he says, have you entered the storehouses of the snow?
00:46:53
Speaker
Imagine heaven has buildings full of snow. Why? Because why not? Or seen the storehouses of hail, hailstones. No one on the earth likes them. Heaven has an entire building full of them.
00:47:09
Speaker
Which I reserve for times of trouble, for days of war and battle. That when the Lord is spiritually warring against the darkness, he sends bad weather after them.
00:47:24
Speaker
And what is the way to the place where the lightning is dispersed? Or the place where the east winds are scattered over the earth. He has a building full of lightning.
00:47:38
Speaker
Just full of lightning bolts. Because he's Jesus and he can. And you know when said in Luke 10, 18, I saw Lucifer fall from heaven like lightning.
00:47:53
Speaker
ah kind of assumed that he just took some of lightning and threw it at the devil and kicked him out of heaven in the first place.
00:48:02
Speaker
and In verse 31 to 33, he says he's the maker of outer space. He says, can you bind the beautiful Pleiades of the constellation?
00:48:14
Speaker
Can you loose the cords of Orion? Can you bring forth the constellations in their seasons or lead out the bear with her cubs? The bear is possibly like in a Leo constellation.
00:48:30
Speaker
you know the laws of the heavens? Can you set up God's dominion over the earth?
00:48:37
Speaker
And then he talks about chapter 40 the behemoth, probably a dinosaur. The largest land creature he ever made was powerful. And then he talks about Leviathan, which is the largest sea creature, largest sea monster he ever made, most powerful of them all.
00:48:56
Speaker
a Something so helpful that No one, no human had ever been able to stop it, to capture it. If they tried, they soon regretted it.
00:49:07
Speaker
And when it breathed fire, we even came out it. me Every culture has stories and legends and folklore about massive river monsters, sea creatures, ocean monsters.
00:49:23
Speaker
The Leviathan is what they're all based on. It is the ultimate sea monster. Jesus says, hey, I made all of this.
00:49:34
Speaker
Don't get so hung up on the suffering, on the confusion. Keep your eyes me. And Job feels so humbled. He realizes just how small he is compared to the Lord how vast the Lord is. everything.
00:49:56
Speaker
he he ah He already knows that he has a relationship with him, but he has a re-encounter. He reimagines the Lord on a level he had never thought of before.
00:50:07
Speaker
he is overcome and he is undone. He just melts in the presence of the Lord. It's like, yes, I don't know about you. You alone are great. You alone in mighty. You alone are omnivorous.
00:50:23
Speaker
knowing, omnipresent, you're everywhere, omnipotent, you're all-powerful. It's you. It's only you.
00:50:34
Speaker
And at that point, the Lord speaks to his friends. says, you lad have spoken some brown, as my brother would say. You've spoken some nonsense about me.
00:50:49
Speaker
And you have not been a particularly good friend Job. So he tells them to bring animals to Job so Job can sacrifice the animals on their behalf and pray for them to restore them into relationship with each other.
00:51:07
Speaker
First of all, they have to restore into relationship with God. It has all just been stinging condemning for dozens and dozens of pages. And then they come back together as well.
00:51:23
Speaker
There are some similarities between the story of Job and Jesus. You may even have picked up on them even as I was just sharing the story.
00:51:35
Speaker
When the story begins in Job 1.8, Job had no unrepented sin in his life when Satan attacked him.
00:51:48
Speaker
John 14.30 thirty The Last Supper, Jesus says, the prince of this world, the devil is coming. But he has no power over me because he has nothing in me, nothing in common with me. Humanality is vulnerability. We have an evil enemy. He'll try to attack us anyway.
00:52:08
Speaker
But if you have nothing in common with the enemy, it's an illegal.
00:52:18
Speaker
Job suffered terribly. All Luke goes that, and then the last few chapters, Jesus like, hey look at me anyway. No matter how bad it gets, keep your eyes on me.
00:52:31
Speaker
But you know, in Luke 22 to 23, Jesus suffered. Jesus suffered more than anybody ever did. We see him in the Garden of Gethsemane praying until blood comes out of his forehead.
00:52:45
Speaker
We see a rigged trial, a show trial, a trial in the middle of the night. an illegal trial. We see him getting flogged, getting beaten, getting spammed, getting mocked.
00:53:01
Speaker
Having to carry his own cross up a mountain. Having nails driven through his hands and his feet.
00:53:14
Speaker
Having every single sin sickness and shame and bad emotion ever. in all of history, his present, future, our future, put on him in that moment, and he was punished by God in the supernatural for all that sin.
00:53:33
Speaker
He was a man who knew suffering well.
00:53:40
Speaker
Job's friends assumed that he was being punished for having done something wicked, the same with Jesus. Isaiah 53, 2-4
00:53:49
Speaker
says that Jesus' contemporaries assumed he was being smitten by God for some grievous sin he'd committed. Blast him. As, you know, one day Jesus doesn't know why anything about God.
00:54:06
Speaker
And at the end, Job has to pray for the same friends who had condemned him in their ignorance. and when Jesus was on that cross in Luke 23, 46, he For
00:54:22
Speaker
they don't know what they do. Forgive the people who are murdering me because they're doing it in ignorance.
00:54:37
Speaker
In this, we see that Job is a picture of Jesus, foreshadow of Jesus. He's like an imprint in time.
00:54:49
Speaker
And then Jesus' life has a lot of similarities.
00:54:57
Speaker
But Jesus is so good.
00:55:01
Speaker
And he blessed his job with double.
00:55:09
Speaker
His seven sons and three daughters died. So the Lord blessed him and his wife, and they had another seven sons and three daughters. Now some people ask, you know, why he didn't have 20 kids?
00:55:21
Speaker
Well, the kids probably weren't actually lost in the conventional sense. You know, they went to paradise. They were good. But regarding the livestock, double. The wealth, double. The prosperity, double.
Restoration and Resurrection Prophecies
00:55:34
Speaker
He went from having 7,000 sheep to having 14,000. 3,000 camels to 6,000 camels.
00:55:40
Speaker
three thousand camels to six thousand camels 500 yokes of oxen to 1,000. 500 female donkeys to 1,000. And he was 140 when his trial began.
00:55:57
Speaker
he died and he was 280. There's
00:56:03
Speaker
there's one more thing I want to lean in on today, because this Job is the group we're looking at, but the study is Jesus in the Old Testament.
00:56:17
Speaker
For all the things Job did not know, did not understand, and got spoke very, very wrong. He did prophesy something very interesting.
00:56:31
Speaker
And this is in chapter 19, verses 25 to 26.
00:56:37
Speaker
He says, as for me, I know that my redeemer lives, the one who will buy me back from the darkness. And the last, I mean, the last day, is not 24 hours, it's a thousand years.
00:56:55
Speaker
He will take his stand on the earth. I know that God in flesh, Jesus, will live on the earth.
00:57:04
Speaker
Even after my skin is destroyed, yet from my flesh, I shall see God. He is not talking about paradise. He is not talking about heaven. He's saying skin.
00:57:16
Speaker
Flesh. The earth. He is saying that at some point in the last millennium, Jesus is going to be on the earth in the physical. I'm going to be there with him.
00:57:33
Speaker
My flesh will have been destroyed, but with my physical eyes, I'm going to see I'm going to live with him.
00:57:40
Speaker
He had a revelation that Jesus, God Almighty, God in flesh, a resurrection town. So
00:57:53
Speaker
I'm going to share a little bit about the resurrections because, oh my goodness, people get so confused about these in biblical prophecy and they start sticking themselves in all the wrong places.
00:58:05
Speaker
There are three big prophetic revelation resurrections in the Bible.
00:58:14
Speaker
The first one is called the harvest of first fruit. The first fruit, to the choice of fruit, the best.
00:58:25
Speaker
This is a prophecy about the resurrection of Jesus. That Jesus would come to the earth, he would live, he would die. But he would not stay dead. He'd come back again.
00:58:38
Speaker
You can see this in Psalm 1610.
00:58:42
Speaker
And 1 Corinthians 15, It's the resurrection of Jesus. He would die, but he would not decay.
00:58:53
Speaker
He would come out of that grave. In a resurrection body. I could walk through walls, teleport, and fly.
00:59:04
Speaker
Well, there was a second part to it.
00:59:08
Speaker
The part of the Easter story that no one ever teaches on is in Matthew 27, 51 to 53, that said that when Jesus came back to life, the graves of dead righteous men and women in Jerusalem first forth and those believers came up out of their graves.
00:59:35
Speaker
So the first fruit, It's Jesus came back to life, but he didn't come back to the earth alone. He took saved people who had lived in Jerusalem back with him.
00:59:49
Speaker
That is the harvest of the first fruit. The resurrection, they're all called harvest. The ancient writers were an agricultural people.
01:00:03
Speaker
Then we get to the main harvest. The main harvest is the resurrection that concerns all of us. This is the body of Christ. It's the rapture. The day of Christ.
01:00:19
Speaker
1 Corinthians 15, 23. fifteen twenty three And 15, 52 to 53.
01:00:29
Speaker
Describe an event that will happen in the twinkling of an eye. Just blink. You've already missed it. That's how fast it is. And this has got two parts as well.
01:00:42
Speaker
This is for the believer, the body of Christ, who have gotten into God's family through the blood of Jesus, his lordship, through faith in the finished work of the cross, the cross plus nothing.
01:00:58
Speaker
We called citizens of the kingdom of life. We're called citizens. citizens of heaven. We're told our citizenship is not in the earth.
01:01:13
Speaker
We're told that we're princes and princesses of heaven. Seated even right now in heavenly places of Christ Jesus.
01:01:22
Speaker
That means that we are a heavenly people. So our resurrection is not onto the earth. Our resurrection into heavenly places, spiritual places.
01:01:35
Speaker
So when you die, your soul and your spirit goes into heaven, and you live at 100% with Jesus.
01:01:44
Speaker
But he never wanted people to just be a soul in a spiritual body. He always wanted people to have three full parts, including a physical body. So on the day of the rapture, Jesus comes down, he leaves heaven, goes into the sky, there's an archangel command, and The God blows the last trumpet of the body of Christ age.
01:02:10
Speaker
And every Christian who has died. so it's okay if they died 2,000 years ago and they're they're just dust. It's okay if they were buried one minute earlier and their body still kind of looks really, really nice in the funeral. It doesn't matter.
01:02:28
Speaker
He reassembles their body perfectly. You won't be fat. You won't be overweight. You don't need glasses anymore. Hallelujah. If you got crooked teeth, he'll fix that.
01:02:42
Speaker
If you were born with three nipples, he'll make sure you only have two. If you had a bad experience with a chainsaw and you're missing a thumb, you'll have two thumbs.
01:02:58
Speaker
If your hair is brittle, it will be lush and fabulous. He'll remake the body in the twinkling of an eye, now sees Jesus, and he can do it,
01:03:12
Speaker
those bodies will superman their way into heaven. And all the Christians in heaven will suddenly be walking around in their physical bodies in heaven.
01:03:28
Speaker
It'll have the same supernatural qualities Jesus' resurrected body had, teleportation, fly-in, intangibility, walking through stuff, you'll be like a superhero.
01:03:39
Speaker
It'll be amazing.
01:03:43
Speaker
And still in that twinkling of the eye, this is how fast God can do things because there's no time in eternity. For every Christian who's on the earth when the rapture happens, they fly up into heaven.
01:04:02
Speaker
Now your spirit's already perfect. Your soul has got some problems. It's got addictions, bit of depression, pettiness.
01:04:14
Speaker
You fall out of people very easily. When you see him, you will be made like him. And your soul will be at 100%. And your physical body will be at 100%.
01:04:30
Speaker
Maybe you had retarded growth because your mother was a smoker or a drinker. You'll be the height you're always meant to be.
01:04:40
Speaker
Maybe you have legs like mine covered in scars because you're always running on ropes and mountain climbing or whatever. They'll all go away.
01:04:51
Speaker
You will be in the perfect body, an imperishable one fit for eternity. And you will live in heaven, a supernatural world in a 3D body.
01:05:08
Speaker
And then we get to the third harvest, the third resurrection, which is the resurrection of gleamings and corners. Now, if this is your first time hearing this and you're like, this was a teaching on joe what the heck is happening?
01:05:24
Speaker
Just roll with it. one Watch the video back, like, you know, on YouTube a few months later and it'll make sense. Don't get too hung up on the futuristic prophetic stuff if this has been over your head.
01:05:39
Speaker
But the harvest of gleanings and corners has three parts. Both of the others had two. This has three.
01:05:47
Speaker
The first is during the apocalypse, after we are gone. No, we will not be here for the apocalypse. At some point, I might do a series on the end times. We will not be here for it.
01:06:01
Speaker
But during the apocalypse, the Antichrist, a man who was sold out for Satan, will take control of the world and will basically be bringing the world to hell in a handbasket.
01:06:15
Speaker
It will be worse than you could possibly imagine.
01:06:19
Speaker
But the Lord does not want anyone to perish. So he sends two witnesses to the earth to talk about him, to show his power, to show his judgment.
01:06:33
Speaker
And he sends the two people who have never died. Enoch, who we looked at last week, remember, he lived for 65 years in rebellion, 300 years in good relation to God, and then was snatched away, was raptured.
01:06:50
Speaker
He comes back. And Elijah, we will look at in a month or so, he comes back as well. He was also raptured. Because Hebrews 9.27 and Romans 5.12 and romans five twelve say that because of Adam's sin, all people are doomed to die. They are the only two people who have not They were captured. They escaped death.
01:07:18
Speaker
he sends them back. They have a very exciting and dramatic three and a half years. But after three and a half years of serving the Lord, the Antichrist does succeed in healing. The whole world celebrates like it Christmas.
01:07:35
Speaker
yeah As they're dead. What? The Bible says they give each other presents.
01:07:43
Speaker
But after three and a half days, the Lord resurrects them in a resurrected body. And then they fly into the world of heaven and a pretty physical body.
01:07:59
Speaker
That's the harvest of gleanings and corners.
01:08:04
Speaker
Part two is what Job prophesies. In fact, almost everybody in the Old Testament who prophesied a resurrection was talking about this one.
01:08:19
Speaker
Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, they're talking about this one.
01:08:24
Speaker
This is the harvest of gleanings and corners, part two, which is when the apocalypse is over. It lasts seven years.
01:08:34
Speaker
Jesus comes and he kills the Antichrist. He saves the day, he saves the other world.
01:08:39
Speaker
And he decides to establish a kingdom on the earth that will last 1,000 years. 1,000 years of peace, of joy, of miracle central.
01:08:54
Speaker
Years of living under Jesus. Extended lifespan.
01:09:01
Speaker
But at this point, all the Old Testament saints,
01:09:09
Speaker
And that includes Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, all the ones who died before the cross, even including the clouds.
01:09:16
Speaker
And all the saints who died during the Great Tribulation, who died during the apocalypse. Suddenly, resurrects them onto the earth.
01:09:29
Speaker
That's why Job says, i know my Redeemer lives, and I know he'll be on earth. And yes, I'll be dead, but I'm still gonna somehow see him in my physical body. I don't know how, but I know that I will.
01:09:43
Speaker
That's what happened. The Old Testament saints, your Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, early Acts saints, and your perilous time saints who got killed, died, murdered.
01:09:59
Speaker
He resurrects them to live in that world that he rules for a thousand years.
01:10:08
Speaker
They're in a resurrected body. The Bible is very clear. Jesus says the ones he resurrects will not get remarried. They won't be having sex. They won't be making babies. The life will be over.
01:10:20
Speaker
But they will just get to live in a world run by Jesus.
01:10:27
Speaker
It will be unlike anything else. It will be paradise. on It will be what the Garden of Eden should always have been.
01:10:37
Speaker
And for a thousand years, the world has more peace than it's ever had before.
01:10:46
Speaker
But yes, people are people.
01:10:51
Speaker
Paradise on Earth is not good enough for them. So Satan, for one thousand years, convinces the vast majority of humans on the Earth in those days To war against Jesus again.
01:11:10
Speaker
You might think, how? How can people be that stupid?
01:11:18
Speaker
It's the human condition.
01:11:21
Speaker
And this time, Jesus just wipes them out. The evildoers, Satan as well, stands into a dimension called the lake of fire.
01:11:32
Speaker
But this is the harvest of gleanings and corners our tree. This time resurrects the evildoers. Absolutely everybody who has been burning in hell.
01:11:47
Speaker
I don't say that in a cavalier way. we need to be really, really active at winning people for Jesus because the difference between living in paradise and heaven being on fire forever.
01:12:02
Speaker
Everyone who's been burning in hell, he resurrects them. To... a very specific experience of Judgment Day, where he goes through a list with them of everything they've ever said, done, or thought that was wicked, that was corrupt.
01:12:19
Speaker
Number one is rejecting him.
01:12:25
Speaker
And he says in life, you are wicked. Continue on your way. And they enter a portal that leads to the lake of fire.
01:12:36
Speaker
which is the second death, the ultimate judgment for the wicked. So Job has a revelation that Jesus will come from the earth and the dead will rise.
01:12:48
Speaker
People get very confused by the resurrections because there are three. Just briefly, the first one is the harvest of first fruit.
01:12:59
Speaker
Jesus is coming back from the dead. He brings the Jerusalem saints with him. That's done.
01:13:07
Speaker
The main harvest is the one for us at some point in the future where the dead in Christ will fly up into heaven.
01:13:19
Speaker
Your soul and spirit will already be there, but your physical body will get remade and it'll go there in at 100%. And then Christians on the earth will then superman their way into the sky.
01:13:31
Speaker
And again, you'll live in a physical body in heaven where we'll be with Jesus use this forever. And the harvest of gleanings and corners is the resurrection of Enoch and Elijah, the two witnesses after the Antichrist kills them.
01:13:47
Speaker
The resurrection of the Old Testament saints, old covenant saints, and the perilous time saints to live with Jesus for 1,000 years on earth.
01:14:00
Speaker
And the really sad one, which is the resurrection of the wicked onto condemnation onto the ultimate judgment.
Practical Matters and Additional Resources
01:14:14
Speaker
So I know there was a lot in that teaching, guys. Like I said, my laptop will not cooperate. If you saw me looking this way all day and you're like, what is he doing?
01:14:24
Speaker
My notes are on my laptop, which is over here. But yeah, the internet would not connect, so I couldn't put the PowerPoints up, but I will put it on the WhatsApp chat. And I it's the easier when you can see the Bible verses on the screen as I do it.
01:14:39
Speaker
a But if you would like to, this teaching will be going on YouTube later on. day If there's anything you didn't quite understand, you can always rewatch it. And hopefully it makes more sense the second time around.
01:14:58
Speaker
and If you would like the Bible study that goes with this, just let me know on WhatsApp. It costs 10 euros. It goes into everything that I've shared today.
01:15:11
Speaker
it also goes into a lot more on Job his friends. It goes into similarities between Job and Adam. has 50 questions. That's 50 questions to see if you understood lesson, the story.
01:15:29
Speaker
ah also has reflection questions where you get to meditate on the word of God. meditate on times when you have suffered or caused suffering for others, and follow the love of Jesus and the blood of Jesus to make things new.
01:15:50
Speaker
So rewrite those moments and turn stumbling blocks into stepping stones, maybe moments of failure into moments of reconciliation.
01:16:05
Speaker
You already reconcile to God. We'll even help you to reconcile with people too. That is the study version. and that costs 10 euros. If you want that, just let me know.
01:16:19
Speaker
What's that? Words okay. We are going pray for Sharon in just a moment and Joyce as well. But before we do that, does anybody have any thoughts, comments or questions on the lesson today?
01:16:42
Speaker
I just have a comment here. i just find it so difficult yeah to, i don't know, to accept maybe that all people will, not all people, but the evildoers will be burning the lake of fire forever and ever and ever and ever and ever.
01:17:01
Speaker
That's so, I don't know, it's, I would hope that somehow Jesus would just make them vanish instead. ah You know?
01:17:14
Speaker
I know. It's one of those things, Carolina, where a soul and spirit are made to have eternal qualities.
01:17:25
Speaker
They're not made to be temporary. They're not made do you just be knocked out at the snap of of finger and a thumb.
01:17:39
Speaker
His will is that all people would choose him and live in intimacy and the fullness of that with him.
01:17:51
Speaker
But the reality is people make agreements and covenants and decisions with eyes wide open every single day.
01:18:05
Speaker
Even think of the world we're living in right now where human trafficking is probably the number one moneymaker in the world.
01:18:17
Speaker
At least it's well up there. And how their entire industry, even this morning, I think of the cigarette industry, the vaping industry. Industries literally made to give people attention.
01:18:30
Speaker
People literally said, let's make a business. People will pay us. to kill themselves. This kind of thing.
01:18:40
Speaker
You look at murderers, just mass murderers, and people who've just done the most wicked and reprehensible things. oops Every person deserves to be punished for a person. Because Jesus is it a good judge, and a good judge hates evil and punishes evil.
01:19:03
Speaker
But yes, he had this bizarre strategy. The message translation, little bit more hate-ish, refers to it as Reckless Loved, where he said, you know what?
01:19:18
Speaker
I will take your sin on myself. Imagine, after God looked at Jesus on that cross and saw a human transfigure. After God looked at Jesus on that cross and saw a rapist.
01:19:34
Speaker
Father God looked at Jesus in that cross and saw would have been too graphic, I suppose. A torturer who, let's got all of his victims with pliers who pulled out all of their fingernails or eyes or their toenails.
01:19:51
Speaker
Father God looked at Jesus and saw all of this and punished Jesus for all of this.
01:20:01
Speaker
For one reason. So no other human would ever have to be punished forever again. The people who are responsible, they said, I'm offering you a blank check.
01:20:15
Speaker
I'm offering you a blank slate. I'm offering you a new life. A new identity. That you would be a new creation. The old gone.
01:20:26
Speaker
new come. 100%. No questions asked. Will you take it? But you just have to do one thing.
01:20:36
Speaker
Say Jesus this is the Lord and believe in your heart that he died for the forgiveness of all sin and was raised to life to give us that new life.
01:20:48
Speaker
It is a free gift and yet we've got people who despise it. We've got people who mock it. We've got people who We've got people who literally lock Christians up in concentration camps.
01:21:08
Speaker
We've got, I read of one situation in India, one story where, it was an American pastor in his family, actually, Hindu extremists knew that they were Christians, so they ran up, put wedges, the car doors, they couldn't escape, and set the family on fire.
01:21:27
Speaker
it killed Just killed them just they were Christians. Even those murderers would be forgiven by Jesus if they'd only ask. not like their faith in them So it's a very scary thought.
01:21:40
Speaker
It's a very scary place. It goes on forever and forever is a long time. i agree with you. That is where the onus is on us. To make sure that we very, very serious about the evangelization of this world.
01:22:01
Speaker
While there is still time.
01:22:05
Speaker
Because he is a good God. they will offer a life of reward. Not that we deserve this. We don't. But we can get in on Jesus name.
01:22:17
Speaker
Or he says, you know what? The alternative is that you receive the punishment that is actually due to you. And he has made his opinion very known.
01:22:29
Speaker
He prefers grace to mercy. He prefers grace to justice. Yeah. But if people choose with an act of their will to screw you, go to to the one who made them and wants the very best for them, they will it will suffer the consequences of that decision.
01:23:00
Speaker
But while they have breath in their lungs, there is still chance. I believe even as we pray for people, even at the last second, between the second last and last breath, he will move on their behalf.
01:23:17
Speaker
I was praying for someone once. He was very dear to me, but we'd never discussed the gospel. We had opportunities, but I had chickened out. I was a coward. And I knew that she had cancer and was dying and she was mostly asleep.
01:23:32
Speaker
I went to visit her, but she was mostly fading in and out of sleep. And I just said, Jesus, whatever you want to do it, reveal yourself.
01:23:47
Speaker
Just do it, Jesus. And then I had vision. saw Jesus let's walk into the room.
01:23:57
Speaker
Let's say this is her and my pen is Jesus. He came up beside her and he said, hey, Jesus, in May, do I love you?
01:24:15
Speaker
I died for all your sins.
01:24:19
Speaker
In life, you rejected me. Will you choose me?
01:24:26
Speaker
And I... That is not the only time I've had that experience, I'll be honest. so I wholeheartedly believe that if we are prayerful and consistent with our prayers, even if you never get the opportunity to talk to that particular person, that he will go above and beyond to arrange a date with them. Even at the very last second. I'm not saying we should be lazy.
01:24:53
Speaker
Not pathetic. Let it get the last seconds. that's but He wants as rich and long a relationship with them as possible. Talk to them today.
01:25:05
Speaker
Even if you legitimately do not have the opportunity. Anytime you try to bring it up they shoot you down. You remain prayerful.
01:25:17
Speaker
And I know it's hard, especially when It moves from being one year to ten years and ten years to twenty years and twenty to thirty. I know the longer it takes, the harder it is But if you remain prayerful, even if it's before they've drawn their very last breath, I believe he will have an appointment with them.
01:25:39
Speaker
and I know another situation. and This was my husband to grandmother, actually. and e Woke up one morning.
01:25:53
Speaker
i didn't No one had ever really taught me what it meant for God to speak to you. They were like, when God speaks, you'll know. and I was like, well, that's not helpful. I had like a really academic mind. I was like, voices is crazy.
01:26:10
Speaker
But this particular morning, I got this feeling in my stomach. And it's like there were words attached to it. And the if the voice said,
01:26:20
Speaker
Go to your grandmother. She needs you. So I said, okay. So I was, I don't know what to. And then what happened actually was my family got a phone call and said, oh, your grandmother's very sick.
01:26:38
Speaker
We're going to go down and look after And I said, oh, I'll go too. That's fine. Walk. Hop in a car. And they said, you'll just be in the way.
01:26:49
Speaker
You don't know how to look after sick people. You've never had to. you just You just stay there. You just sit down in that armchair and I was, you're fine. We don't need you.
01:27:02
Speaker
And oh, no, I have to be there. I really feel I've got to be there today. And they said, why? What will you do that would actually help?
01:27:15
Speaker
I didn't have an answer.
01:27:19
Speaker
So I knew i was making a mistake. I knew i was disobeying the Lord. But I sat back down in the armchair. They left. Just thank God. Oh, I've I think I've screwed up big time.
01:27:35
Speaker
i think I've messed up. You told me to go i could go. Here's the bad thing. I could have walked. it was a 10 minute walk. I could have left after they they'd gone in the car.
01:27:47
Speaker
So is not to do it. I said, God, I really think I've done something bad here and screwy.
01:27:55
Speaker
Makeup or whatever. I have failed to do. Whatever it is I should have done, it. Do it. Got a call a few minutes later.
01:28:08
Speaker
was dead. Part back. Boom. Fell down the staircase. Dead.
01:28:15
Speaker
And let me tell you, I felt like I was the worst Christian in the world. Not many Christians can say that they literally got someone killed because of their disobedience. to It was a... Oh, I felt like... um
01:28:34
Speaker
It disturbed me. For a week. I didn't think I'd ever forgive myself for it.
01:28:47
Speaker
You just say, God, is she's with you. I need to know. I need to know. I need to know. Then a pastor came along a few days later and said, oh you're going to mother with Jesus. And I said, well, he's just being nice. What does he know?
01:29:02
Speaker
And I wasn't even a prophetic dreamer back then or anything. Not not really. But I did have ah dream after a week or two. And I was standing on not a financial bank, I mean like a bank of a river.
01:29:21
Speaker
She was on the other side of the river. And there were rolling green hills behind her. And she looked younger than I'd ever seen her and she was just lovely. She used to kind of wear, you know, the old granny skirts. You know, like in the 90s noughties when a woman had six feet, she began dressing like she was a 90. Kind of one of those women. She acted really, really well.
01:29:43
Speaker
was just thinking... God, what is happening here? This isn't. And she just called out said, Brendan, I'm fine. I'm with Jesus.
01:29:55
Speaker
I'm good. I'm fine. I'm with Jesus. Oh, that's amazing. And I woke up and I was like, okay, God, I want to believe that's true, but what this?
01:30:08
Speaker
Sometime later, i got talking to her niece. mother's cousin. And she said, you know, your grandmother had a recurring dream when she was alive. And I said, Oh, she said, Yeah, in her dream, she would stand along the bank of a river.
01:30:30
Speaker
And on the other side of the river, her sister and mother, both of whom were dead before I was born, were on the other side of the river. My grandmother would say, I want to be with you and enjoy you want to be where you are.
01:30:44
Speaker
sister and mother say it's not your time yes we're good we're with Jesus but you've got more living to do you're okay there was a river between them and rolling green hills in the background now my family had never told me this dream she had never we'd never spent prophetic dreams but suddenly I realized in her dream she was taken to a place in heaven where she was on one side of the river and couldn't cross over because she had more living to do.
01:31:20
Speaker
In my dream, I was taken to the exact same place where she was in heaven and the Lord just temporarily lowered the veil.
01:31:30
Speaker
When I was on that couch, in my rebellion, in my disobedience, praying for her, God do something, God do something, God do something, God do something. He moved.
01:31:44
Speaker
She had a heart attack on that staircase. But between the second last breath and the last one, he moved to save her. He introduced himself.
01:31:55
Speaker
Because there is no time in heaven. Think of the rapture. Corpses shooting up into the sky, getting remade. People on the earth flying in the sky, getting remade. Your soul healed. Your body healed. and have it In the twinkling of an eye.
01:32:13
Speaker
That is how quickly he can move. That's how much he can do in a blink. So when it comes to the salvation of the lost, gnashing them from a lifetime in hell and like a fire, how much more will he move?
01:32:31
Speaker
That's why we have to remain so prayerful, so vigilant. But don't don't do what I did.
01:32:44
Speaker
Don't hide behind prayer just because you're a kind i was like...
01:32:56
Speaker
I was praying for people because I was too afraid to speak. I was praying for people because I was riddled in fear. i would say pray speak.
01:33:08
Speaker
Don't just pray and be cowardly. Don't pray, then shirk your responsibilities for the rest of the week.
01:33:19
Speaker
Grow in the courage to do.
01:33:32
Speaker
I know from just one question that was a really, really long answer. Hopefully I answered question somewhere in there. Yes, you did. Thank you so much, Brendan. Thank you.
01:33:43
Speaker
i think I think I've asked this before and you actually i keep forgetting. so it's so good when you just need reminding. Yeah. I hope I haven't just given you a word for word same answer each time.
01:33:58
Speaker
but I'll go back through the YouTube channel and be like, it was verbatim the same. and But i like you're you're saying so much more every time. So it's it's amazing. Thank you.
01:34:12
Speaker
yeah Thank you. Thank you. All right, everyone, any more final comments or questions before ah we pray and wrap up for this evening?
01:34:26
Speaker
I think there was a question in the chat, though. Oh, perfect. Cheers.
01:34:32
Speaker
Suddenly, I find myself hoping that my phone has actually recorded all of this. Otherwise, I'm going to have a lot of fun tomorrow recording this all over again.
01:34:44
Speaker
and Okay, thanks, Aaron, for the feedback. See, Katzul, thank you for the teaching, because my friend, Bill was rich and happy. What's it, poor people who are already happy with their life.
01:35:02
Speaker
laugh who What you mean exactly, Katzul? Are you talking about people who who die poor? four
01:35:12
Speaker
yeah yeah and i know she was asking like a Job ah like he had the his family his children and he has the ah money and everything so what about other people like who who don't have those things and then they are going through like a difficult time okay so as in like suffering on the earth yeah yeah sure A great question.
01:35:43
Speaker
If you look at Adam and Eve, and look at... but were They were told the Garden of Eden had the river Eden, and it broke into four rivers.
01:35:57
Speaker
I would encourage you do a little personal study on those four rivers. One of those rivers was streaming with gold.
01:36:10
Speaker
One of the rivers was streaming with different translations for the different way. Some say Bdellum. Others say with. So pearls, you know, they're such a a beautiful, precious stone that people would pay a lot of money for get their hands on.
01:36:32
Speaker
Adam and Eve, a lot of people picture just two naked people sitting around on grass having sex all day. But actually, they were rich.
01:36:43
Speaker
All they had to do was stick their hands in one of those rivers and pull out a handful of gold. Stick their hands in one of those rivers and pull out handful of herbals.
01:36:57
Speaker
It goes on to talk about, you know, onyx, stone and and frankincense and everything else.
01:37:03
Speaker
Humans were made to be wealthy. If Adam and Eve were that wealthy, as the first two people ever to live. Humans were supposed to be wealthy, that was supposed to be... But actually, poverty is spiritual warfare.
01:37:24
Speaker
Think of life today, where you can work 40 hours a week, traveling two hours there, two hours back again, spending up to 13 hours...
01:37:38
Speaker
between lunch breaks and meetings and overtime in a day job day, at the end of the month, barely have enough to pay your bills, that should never have been normal.
01:37:53
Speaker
People today are like, oh, it's just cost-to-living crisis. It is what it is. No. That should never have been reality. Because the enemy knows if he keeps you poor, he keeps you broke,
01:38:08
Speaker
your capacity to just throw yourself into things of God's will be less. If you had more money, you could bless this pastor, this ministry, this missionary. You could take care of that need.
01:38:25
Speaker
And you can look after, you know, when family, friends, whatever it is. You could do heck a lot more than any of us actually do with our lives. So the enemy has intentionally rigged the financial system on the earth, primarily through taxation.
01:38:43
Speaker
Yes, taxation theft. There, I said it. That's my Bible teacher opinion. Because actually, what does, it puts a noose around you. It puts vines on your hands.
01:38:55
Speaker
Suddenly, you've got Christians who are like, well, I can't attend Doha and stay at Bible study. I have to work. And they can't attend church on Sunday because then they're doing their second job. It's actually keeping them from the presence of God. It's keeping them from fellowshipping with other believers.
01:39:14
Speaker
It's a stranglehold. You look at how people were being... and thenly not fan grace That's all right, Sharon. Thanks so much for joining, okay? And we're going to pray a few afterwards, okay? Thank you so much. You sleep well now, all right?
01:39:32
Speaker
but You look at the Israelites' schedule in Egypt in their captivity.
01:39:39
Speaker
They were being you know taxed and used and abused and the Lord sent Moses to rescue them. would say that there are people today in the Western world who are actually under more financial constraints than those slaves were in the book of Exodus.
Wealth, Spirituality, and Giving
01:39:57
Speaker
So the enemy that That if he holds the financial system in his hands, if he holds the wealth of the nations, and the body of Christ suffer.
01:40:08
Speaker
Families suffer. are Communities suffer. Churches suffer. The needy suffer. The poor suffer. Whereas if God's people have the wealth, well then we can actually be led by Holy Spirit to cater for so many of those needs.
01:40:26
Speaker
But when I take great
01:40:29
Speaker
rest in in these days is in the book of Proverbs that decrees that the wealth of the wicked stored up for their righteous.
01:40:41
Speaker
Days that we are living in on the earth are days of exposure, days of revival and days of justice, where all those who have been screaming the wealth of the nations and because they're involved in human trafficking, The old Jeffrey Epstein thing, yeah they've only scratched the surface.
01:41:02
Speaker
There's so much more to come. You're going to see a lot of very wicked, powerful people get their comeuppance for their evil. You're going to see entire banks, which were established as funds for human trafficking, come crumbling down.
01:41:22
Speaker
um You're going to see
01:41:26
Speaker
So may the wicked, evil politicians in the world right now who are making your life miserable. In a few short years from now, you're not going to find them you're not going remember the name. And they will not be there for you to look for.
01:41:39
Speaker
God is turning this upside down world the right way up.
01:41:45
Speaker
But say, it is a valid question. What about the unhappy poor people? But poverty is spiritual warfare.
01:42:08
Speaker
we not promised if we tithe he'll open the windows of heaven and pour us such blessing? We haven't room enough to receive it Amen. Amen.
01:42:20
Speaker
That's right. and so I would say whenever Holy Spirit prompts you who give, you do in obedience. Not with arm-twisting. not out a sense of fear or obligation, but when he tells you to, just being a cheerful giver and obedient, you do whatever he tells you to, he has the amazing ability to multiply.
01:42:47
Speaker
Press down, shaking together, running over. Amen. Amen. Amen. Just a question regarding that. it Is it like, how do you know to give and how and when?
01:43:03
Speaker
pregnantlin Some people give 10% of their salary. Is that correct? or That is an Old Testament model that was given to Moses.
01:43:16
Speaker
And even in Jesus' day, kept that up. a Because they were still living under the law of Moses. and But when you get to the Apostle of Paul's lectures to the body of Christ, you're never told that the language kind of shifts from tithing, like, you know, 10% giving.
01:43:38
Speaker
Because we have Holy Spirit living inside of us. He will tell you what to give, where to give. If you're like, pray. Pray at the start of the week.
01:43:51
Speaker
And Or pray the day your salary comes in. Just sit down and say, all right, Lord, make a budget and say, how much do you want me to give this week? And where do you want it to go?
01:44:04
Speaker
it might be a ministry you're part of. It could be to one that you received something beneficial from on on YouTube.
01:44:16
Speaker
He might tell you, not this week. you'll be like, really, God? Really? But then you might come across a homeless man two days later. God said, oh yeah, give money to him instead.
01:44:29
Speaker
So would say ye pray and he will lead and direct you where money should go and who it should go to and how much.
01:44:41
Speaker
I say if you feel under pressure to do it from individual... It is almost certainly not God. It's almost certainly spiritual manipulation.
01:44:57
Speaker
Very, very weary that. Because even those who have the absolute best of intentions were like, oh, you know, we want to throw this event so more people hear the gospel. If you have this much, we could do blah, bla blah, blah.
01:45:16
Speaker
Even those who have hearts, we're In such a good place at one point, they can very easily become greedy. They can very easily become power play without control.
Spiritual Experiences and Warnings
01:45:29
Speaker
do you feel that you're in that situation, you're being spiritually used and abused and your finances misused.
01:45:42
Speaker
And you need to sever that and financial tie straight away.

very good thank you you're very welcome thank you so much can I just ask you one other question people say that and there's no contact between people in heaven and us on earth hand you said you really saw mother or sister and Was that a dream or it wasn't actually seeing into heaven?
01:46:25
Speaker
It was a vision in a dream. But here's the thing. People who say that because to be honest, it's not biblical. I think people who say that just don't want their brothers and sisters to get caught up in something potentially sinister. Some kind necromancy.
01:46:50
Speaker
But in Zechariah 3, Zechariah was alive, was caught up to heaven, and he saw Jesus taking off the filthy garments of Joshua, putting new ones on.
01:47:06
Speaker
And Zechariah goes, put a tube in on his head. And Jesus goes, great idea. Zechariah was alive and was communicating with people in heaven. In the book of Revelations,
01:47:19
Speaker
John is snatched up into heaven on the day of the Lord, into the great tribulation, of the apocalypse. and he And the angels can see him. He lived 2,000 years ago.
01:47:32
Speaker
He was projected 2,000 plus years into heaven in the future. and he's ah And he's interacting with the angels. He's interacting with the elders. They can see him. They're talking to him. having conversations. They know he's there.
01:47:47
Speaker
Even though it happened... thousands Thousands of years before their time. And thousands of years ahead of his time.
01:47:56
Speaker
So when God lowers the veil himself,
01:48:03
Speaker
he can do whatever wants to do. He can facilitate whatever conversation he wants to facilitate. I would tell people, do not try to manufacture it.
01:48:15
Speaker
Do not try to manipulate it. Don't sit around to sing your bedroom. Is anyone in here? If you are, blame Brendan.
01:48:27
Speaker
I'm a Christian. I'm a good person. Thanks so much, Jamie. Have a good night, nine and I would say don't manufacture it because something might talk back at you. Hello, Brendan.
01:48:42
Speaker
My name is George. So, yeah, don't manufacture it. But if God does it himself, it's fine. Even think of the Mount of Transfiguration.
01:48:55
Speaker
Moses was dead. And Jesus had a conversation with him. He was in paradise, dead. Elijah had never thought he was raptured, but he was in actual heaven.
01:49:09
Speaker
And Jesus had a conversation with both of them at the same time. So there are just three instances, biblically, of people talking you people and creatures in heaven.
01:49:22
Speaker
a So don't manufacture it, but God can and does do it more often than a lot of Christians think.
01:49:34
Speaker
chris Amen. I'm always saying, Lord, I'd love to see you. love to see your face. That's it, amen. It would be nice.
01:49:46
Speaker
and night we We go by faith, isn't it? Precisely, we go by faith. then We loan him our faith and he does with it whatever he wants.
01:50:02
Speaker
When God began doing these things for me, i was like, I can't ever say that to anyone. They would think I'm nuts. They would think I'm a heathen. I had these experiences then I realized was biblical.
01:50:18
Speaker
and For some people, they know it's biblical, and then he gives them the experience. The important thing is just, if it was going to happen, had him do it, rather than trying to manufacture on your terms.
01:50:35
Speaker
Yeah. And then just one other thing, you're going through... Put the teaching up on on the Zoom. Oh, hope this has been recorded, Kitsie. Otherwise, I'm going to have a long night redoing this all again.
Conclusion and Blessings
01:50:54
Speaker
Yeah. see The Zoom lady spoke. I just hope all this has been recorded. Mainly for my sake. and ah Yeah, that is the plan.
01:51:14
Speaker

Lord God, I thank you so much for your beautiful daughter, Lord God, that you love so much, but who the enemy has come against their health, Lord God, and in other cases, just seasonal colds and flus and things.
01:52:03
Speaker
Lord Jesus, put your healing on their but
01:52:11
Speaker
take these colds and flus and symptoms and sicknesses and ailments and pains from them and thrust them into where they belong.
01:52:26
Speaker
Jesus, you took all these things on yourself and you buried them in hell and you said it's finished. We declare it is finished.
01:52:40
Speaker
Move on their behalf, O God. For them the healing oil of healing. Supernatural anointing oil, washing them from the top of their heads to the sole to their feet.
01:52:59
Speaker
Move Jesus in the most precious, beautiful way in their lives, restoring them totally, even as they slumber in their Lord. Give them a healing leap.
01:53:11
Speaker
healing will start to sleep. Lord, give them healing dreams where you literally heal them in the dream and they wake up in the natural at 100%.
01:53:24
Speaker
Do what only you can do, Lord Jesus. Lord, may they actually fall asleep and promptly tonight, not lying awake, looking at the ceiling for two or three hours, trying to sleep and then losing their breath and having a calm, having intense pain or agony.
01:53:49
Speaker
No, at Jesus. A sweet sleep is a gift that you give to those you love. And I know as you love your daughters.
01:54:00
Speaker
So you put them to a whole spirit sleep right now, Lord Jesus, and you do what only you can do and you rectify what needs rectifying. You heal what needs healing. You restore it needs restoration.
01:54:15
Speaker
And may they wake up in the morning saying it's a new day have new adventures with Jesus with a new sense of energy, wholeness, and restoration. Ready to be about the Father's business.
01:54:30
Speaker
