Felicia Devine: Hello and welcome back to episode 17.
Natalie Richards: Hello?
Felicia Devine: Bye.
Natalie Richards: Happy to be here.
Felicia Devine: having You're welcome back after our long overdue summer vacation.
Natalie Richards: Seems like every time we podcast, you're like, oops, sorry, we took a little longer.
Felicia Devine: who
Natalie Richards: than Than we anticipated.
Felicia Devine: Yes. Oh wait.
Natalie Richards: That's just where our lives are right now.
Felicia Devine: We do have one podcast update though.
Natalie Richards: Oh, do we?
Felicia Devine: We went viral.
Natalie Richards: oh that's oh my god wait we haven't even talked about this this is so funny
Felicia Devine: We texted about it for one second and then we dropped the ball.
Natalie Richards: we both like looked at our insights at one point and we're like wait what is this.
Felicia Devine: What is this? Honestly, we popped off this summer. unintentionally in
Natalie Richards: And like. Where was it? Taiwan.
Felicia Devine: Vietnam.
Natalie Richards: Vietnam.
Felicia Devine: Brazil.
Natalie Richards: Australia.
Felicia Devine: So if you're if you're listening from Brazil, welcome.
Natalie Richards: No.
Felicia Devine: A lot of these topics probably don't apply to you because it's a lot about our government. and
Natalie Richards: what
Felicia Devine: Our current happenings in business.
Natalie Richards: Oh, man. Goodness.
Felicia Devine: But welcome. Yeah, I mean.
Natalie Richards: It's quite funny.
Felicia Devine: I was looking at my Zencaster account. So we use Zencaster for podcasting, if you're listening. and I was at work and I was like, oh, I haven't checked our analytics probably ever.
Natalie Richards: Right.
Felicia Devine: Right? Like...
Natalie Richards: I never look at it.
Felicia Devine: You and I don't do this for the views. Um,
Natalie Richards: No.
Felicia Devine: And so I don't really care about the analytics. And I like opened up. the analytics page. And it was like two days after we went viral. on like
Natalie Richards: Just yeah.
Felicia Devine: And by nowhere did we get a notification that was like, you popped off.
Natalie Richards: No.
Felicia Devine: um But it was just happenstance that I looked at it and I... got a little panicked, Natalie. I'm not going to lie.
Natalie Richards: Well, it was a little weird. Like it was just was like, wait, why are these people listening to us? First of all, it kind of feels creepy a little bit.
Felicia Devine: Right. it that's what I was saying I was like we're exposing our like personal and business lives. And then people from like other countries.
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: are listening that like, I don't feel like. It's relevant to...
Natalie Richards: Yeah. Exactly.
Felicia Devine: I don't know. I got spooked and then I was like.
Natalie Richards: It was weird. it
Felicia Devine: Oh no.
Natalie Richards: it It felt a little odd. And I was like, I don't want to be. i don't I don't want this.
Felicia Devine: No. No, no, no. this is for This is for friends and family. If you're listening, you're in our inner circle.
Natalie Richards: i don't I don't want that.
Felicia Devine: Yeah. I got a little panicked. I'm not going to lie. I even like told the girls at work and I was like. I feel really uncomfortable about this.
Natalie Richards: mm -hmm That was really strange.
Felicia Devine: I have a go. Moment of panic.
Natalie Richards: Mhm. I'm going to have to text Kyle to turn this. silly little vacuum off can you hear it
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: The robot. You can hear it.
Felicia Devine: Yeah. Yeah.
Natalie Richards: Brush. Darn it.
Felicia Devine: You got you got your your people working for you in the background.
Natalie Richards: I do, my people. got Do you know how many Roombas we own?
Felicia Devine: Well, I've... Been to your house and you've had two. How many have you had? total. Currently?
Natalie Richards: currently.
Felicia Devine: You have four.
Natalie Richards: Currently four.
Felicia Devine: Are they always tripping you?
Natalie Richards: No. that I don't have them like attached to the Wi -Fi. Hey, Kyle, can you just stop the...
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: the vacuum. Thank you. Perfect.
Felicia Devine: Hey, Kyle, can you vacuum?
Natalie Richards: I think. Perfect timing. No, I have like an. un obscene amount of Roombas and how many vacuums I've accumulated because they're just never quite right.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: They never quite do.
Felicia Devine: Right.
Natalie Richards: the job I want them to do for the thing that I want them for.
Felicia Devine: Have you ever tried a Tineco?
Natalie Richards: No. But i've I mean, i've seen I see them all over. like they're
Felicia Devine: Girl, get yourself a Tentaco, but you cannot Tentaco if it's like, if it's like.
Natalie Richards: Talk about viral.
Felicia Devine: I could be saying it wrong. the brand, but.
Natalie Richards: I have.
Felicia Devine: You have to kind of like. Pre -clean. So like you would want your Roombas to go.
Natalie Richards: and You have to pre -clean. That's the problem. I have a Bissell like a cross wave, which is like essentially the same thing.
Felicia Devine: a cross -dresser.
Natalie Richards: ah ah Right. Abyssal cross wave. And it's like it. it vacuums and mops for you at the same time but like it's a it's a situation like you have to set it up you have to like
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: I don't even know. I don't know how to use it enough.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: and When I don't clean up enough of the dog hair before I use it, it gets clogged and it gets like, it's just, it gets clogged.
Felicia Devine: Okay. Right.
Natalie Richards: So it's not.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: For the amount of dog hair that's on the floor, even when I can't see it visibly.
Felicia Devine: Ew. Yeah.
Natalie Richards: it gets clogged really easy. So I don't know if the Tineco would be different or if it would.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: be the same way.
Felicia Devine: Well, I'll say if the only like Feeny hair we get. I mean. I don't know. I don't pre -clean mine. Like I don't have to vacuum typically.
Natalie Richards: Okay. Her hair is so like...
Felicia Devine: It's so little.
Natalie Richards: Little.
Felicia Devine: It's like beard hair.
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: And it's very infrequent. Like she doesn't shed that much.
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: And so like when I even go to dump the vacuum like contents. It's not. That much. Goop.
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: Bye. I just love a wet vac.
Natalie Richards: I...
Felicia Devine: I love a wetback.
Natalie Richards: would probably love it. And I just.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: way.
Felicia Devine: Between like the slobber and the splashes from the kitchen and the, I just, I love a Tineco.
Natalie Richards: mm -hmm mm -hmm
Natalie Richards: At a certain point, I just say, you know. It's dirty and tomorrow it's going to be dirty too if I clean it today.
Felicia Devine: Ha ha.
Natalie Richards: Tomorrow's going to be dirty.
Felicia Devine: It's... It's going to be just as dirty.
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: So I'm like...
Felicia Devine: Tell us. Tell us how life is having four dogs now.
Natalie Richards: it's It's actually okay. it's it's done
Felicia Devine: Oh!
Natalie Richards: It's totally fine because Wilma when she's here is in the garage.
Felicia Devine: Good.
Felicia Devine: Oh really?
Natalie Richards: She's in a kennel. Yeah, she's in.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: kyle made a kennel for her right next to gator because they are besties.
Felicia Devine: hey Aww.
Natalie Richards: Gator and Wilma are... our besties.
Felicia Devine: That's right.
Natalie Richards: It's really cute.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: um And then our friends who have the three GSPs. they take her whenever kyle's at work so like i don't I don't know if I've seen her.
Felicia Devine: Mm -hmm.
Felicia Devine: Oh.
Natalie Richards: Maybe once in the last week. at So she just doesn't.
Felicia Devine: Like she's been on vacation.
Natalie Richards: She has been. communication. So for me, I feel like it's ideal. because I actually don't think I would, I'm already like up here on my capacity.
Felicia Devine: Yeah. Yeah. Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: So I don't think I can actually deal with that right now.
Felicia Devine: Right.
Natalie Richards: So.
Felicia Devine: Yeah. Is she doing well?
Natalie Richards: I feel like it's, yeah, she's great. and She's great. and kyle's working on mold stuff with her already and she's doing well so she's sniffing her little sniffing her little heart out.
Felicia Devine: Is she?
Felicia Devine: Oh my gosh, I love that for her.
Natalie Richards: Right, Kyle? Yep. Wilma sniffing a little hard out. Bye. He's going to work.
Felicia Devine: Go serve and protect.
Natalie Richards: yeah so She says serve and protect.
Natalie Richards: UGH!
Felicia Devine: Team Kyle.
Natalie Richards: He has. Of course, another weekend that his schedules that his schedules all changed. So he's on 10 a .m.
Felicia Devine: oh
Natalie Richards: to 10 p .m. this whole weekend. What's that? Well, yeah, and it's been 10 to midnight because. It doesn't end at 10. The...
Felicia Devine: Oh my goodness.
Natalie Richards: The work doesn't end.
Felicia Devine: The crime, the crime doesn't stop at 10.
Natalie Richards: Oh, yeah. Okay, Kyle. This is on to our next topic. Kyle says to buy High Rocks tickets.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: No!
Felicia Devine: I was going to bring this up because this, Natalie, this is.
Natalie Richards: Weird. Talk about that. She's like. like's going to bring this up. i know she you're having What? Why oh for her to to participate. Okay, we have to discuss I...
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: Kyle goes, oh yeah, I'm buying. high rocks tickets but the only ones that are available are are the Partner. And I go, oh, okay.
Felicia Devine: Who is your partner?
Natalie Richards: Who's your partner? I go, you didn't ask me.
Felicia Devine: Yeah. Where's my invite?
Natalie Richards: And I said, I said ae I feel like I could do it. He goes, no, you couldn't. give it She's never ran a day in her life. ah I don't, I can do it.
Natalie Richards: I ski. I ski. That's like sprinting.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: In the altitude.
Felicia Devine: Yeah. You cross train, girl.
Natalie Richards: cross stream.
Natalie Richards: ah spend three hours Anyway.
Felicia Devine: Anyway.
Natalie Richards: Yeah. The only ticket that he could buy was the partner one. So he found he found somebody who's like a CrossFit girl or something.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: But. So the question is, are you and Dan, you said you wanted to participate?
Felicia Devine: Okay. So I got down this rabbit hole. so
Natalie Richards: She went down a rabbit hole.
Felicia Devine: I'm in. I...
Natalie Richards: I'm looking at Kyle telling him with it.
Felicia Devine: I feel like Dan could carry the team all I would have to do is run.
Natalie Richards: Dan could carry the team. And all she would have to do is run.
Felicia Devine: i could like participate
Natalie Richards: She's laughing.
Natalie Richards: sir I think we need to do a little research on what thing, what particular things are part of a high rocks.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: yeah Like I did some digging and I texted Rachel.
Natalie Richards: There's a lot of things.
Felicia Devine: Yeah, I texted Rachel and she was like, oh, you could totally do it.
Natalie Richards: I'll listen to your podcast. with I love you.
Felicia Devine: Kyle had to fill himself in. when this episode launches.
Natalie Richards: Yeah. um I was like, he goes, there's sled pushes. I go, I'm a. be status led push.
Felicia Devine: You are a beast at a sled push.
Natalie Richards: All right. i My body is so dense.
Felicia Devine: designed for that.
Natalie Richards: I'm literally doing like uned i and We don't edit anything.
Felicia Devine: so
Felicia Devine: I was like, ah edit this out.
Natalie Richards: He goes... I need to see that to hear the unedited version. I go, I'm not going to edit anything out.
Felicia Devine: This is the unedited version
Natalie Richards: Jean, it's not time for you to come over here. You remember? Okay. We talked about this. Okay.
Felicia Devine: We're 10 minutes in.
Natalie Richards: We talked about that. this. Holy cow. um Okay, so we... Sled push I can do. Like I am built like a man. I can.
Felicia Devine: yeah
Natalie Richards: I can push a heck of a lot of weight
Felicia Devine: You can.
Natalie Richards: And I'm like, I could probably do a better slide push than Kyle can. My legs are...
Felicia Devine: Yeah, um...
Natalie Richards: Down. you know.
Felicia Devine: I feel like you would be a ah very good partner.
Natalie Richards: I think I'd be a sleeper. I think I'd be a sleeper partner.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: okay and
Felicia Devine: I think you would be a great partner, Natalie.
Natalie Richards: Can I do a pull -up? No. No, I can't
Felicia Devine: we Pull -ups aren't in it.
Natalie Richards: No, I can't. I don't know.
Felicia Devine: There aren't.
Natalie Richards: i've
Felicia Devine: No pull -ups.
Natalie Richards: Oh, see, okay.
Felicia Devine: Well, okay. So let me run you through them. I am going to say them out of order.
Natalie Richards: Yes, please
Felicia Devine: So like if you're a High Rocks junkie, don't come for us.
Natalie Richards: Mm hmm.
Felicia Devine: This isn't sponsored. Okay. There is. You run? A lot. a I think a thousand.
Natalie Richards: that
Felicia Devine: Like a 1K. So you you run a 1K, which is a little over half a mile.
Natalie Richards: Okay, I can do that.
Felicia Devine: Okay. Yeah. But you do that ah like seven times.
Natalie Richards: I can still do that.
Felicia Devine: Eight times.
Natalie Richards: I just can't do it all in one.
Felicia Devine: i think you run in I think you run an total. Okay, so therefore, there's seven.
Natalie Richards: Bye. Easy.
Felicia Devine: obstacles between each 1K. So you run a 1K and then you do like. Again, out of order, you do like a... ton of burpee jumps and then you run a 1k and then you do like a ski erg like the poles
Natalie Richards: Okay, fine.
Natalie Richards: Oh my god, I'm so good at that.
Felicia Devine: Right, you're a ski girly.
Natalie Richards: Oh my gosh.
Felicia Devine: Run a 1K. Rower machine. Run a 1K.
Natalie Richards: Done. Easy.
Felicia Devine: ah Sandbag lunges.
Natalie Richards: That one I would be good at as well, but it would be it would kill me.
Felicia Devine: Slide pushes. Sled. Yeah, sled pushes, sled pulls, wall balls. ah farmers carry
Natalie Richards: I get all of that Easy peasy.
Felicia Devine: What's your grip strength?
Natalie Richards: Easy peasy.
Felicia Devine: Okay, so, like, Kyle could fire his girl.
Natalie Richards: But what Kyle said is that the girls have to do the guy's weight. is the only
Felicia Devine: And partners.
Natalie Richards: In partners.
Felicia Devine: Yeah. Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: so then you can But you don't have to do everything.
Felicia Devine: No, or anything.
Natalie Richards: So I would just do the things that I'm very good at. And yeah, I could do everything.
Felicia Devine: You don't have to do any of that. You could just run.
Natalie Richards: except for the fact that I would rather not do that. I i feel like I could do guys what everybody has to run.
Felicia Devine: You have to, everybody has to run though. So everybody has to run and the work can be divided.
Natalie Richards: That's it.
Felicia Devine: So then like you run and then like if you do the farmer's carry, like.
Natalie Richards: That's fine.
Felicia Devine: you could do the whole farmer's carry and kyle doesn't have to or like
Natalie Richards: I wonder what the weight is on a farm on the farmer's carry. i I'll have to look it up.
Felicia Devine: It's pretty heavy. But people like run the farmer's carry. So like, I don't know. I mean. However, I think, when is Kyle's Chicago race?
Natalie Richards: He, I told him, I looked at him, I go, you grossly underestimate me.
Felicia Devine: Yes.
Natalie Richards: You don't have a clue what I could do.
Felicia Devine: No, he doesn't know the potential.
Natalie Richards: Now, would I actually be dead the next day? Yes, but so would he.
Felicia Devine: Yeah, um I'm probably going to have like DOMS and um probably get like compartment syndrome.
Natalie Richards: and not be able to work for a week. mm -hmm
Felicia Devine: I'm probably going to get.
Natalie Richards: Okay.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: But for real, he says that there's tickets left.
Felicia Devine: Should we do it though?
Natalie Richards: He bought his tickets and there's tickets for a partner, but it's a, you have to like raise charity money.
Felicia Devine: There are. Should I just buy them?
Natalie Richards: is the only ticket that's left over. I feel like you can do that.
Felicia Devine: How much charity money?
Natalie Richards: It's like. I don't know like a thousand dollars or something
Natalie Richards: You can do that easily.
Felicia Devine: What am I chariting now?
Natalie Richards: it's literally just No, you literally just have to like. I don't know what the charity is. you just have to raise funds you have to raise a thousand dollars
Felicia Devine: But like, for what?
Natalie Richards: I don't know.
Felicia Devine: Oh. Ugh. Oh, look at it.
Natalie Richards: I don't know
Felicia Devine: Kyle texted me this morning.
Natalie Richards: I don't know the details. He did.
Felicia Devine: I'll check out my text.
Natalie Richards: But for real, it's it is Valentine's Day weekend in Chicago. So if we...
Felicia Devine: Oh, is it? It's Dan's birthday then.
Natalie Richards: mm -hmm Oh! See?
Felicia Devine: Oh my God.
Natalie Richards: Let's do it.
Felicia Devine: Okay, so...
Natalie Richards: This also leads us into how was your first weekend away?
Felicia Devine: I know.
Natalie Richards: from sepi because we haven't talked about any of that stuff
Felicia Devine: Mmm. You're right. Okay. um So I'm going to go ahead and say. I don't want this to come across.
Natalie Richards: Oh no!
Felicia Devine: I don't want this to come across as like ungrateful or bougie.
Natalie Richards: Oh no.
Felicia Devine: But. We stayed at a five -star hotel.
Natalie Richards: Yes.
Felicia Devine: Okay. Let me just start off by saying. Dan and I don't know how to be. elevated I guess maybe we're just like not for that environment
Natalie Richards: okay Okay.
Felicia Devine: But like.
Natalie Richards: to actually like...
Felicia Devine: I'm expecting it to be like you walk in the doors and they're like. Oh, Dr. Devon, we've been waiting for you.
Natalie Richards: None anymore.
Felicia Devine: Okay, first off, we walk in the door. I booked the hotel because I used my credit card points from the business, which is solely in my name.
Natalie Richards: almost
Felicia Devine: Okay. This is not like a Dan owns the credit card. I have a card.
Natalie Richards: Yes.
Felicia Devine: This is Felicia owns the credit card. Felicia is the only one that has a card. Okay.
Natalie Richards: Yes.
Felicia Devine: These are my bucks I've earned.
Natalie Richards: Yes.
Felicia Devine: Okay. So I booked this hotel.
Natalie Richards: Yes.
Felicia Devine: And I like tell Dan, I'm like, don't worry about it, honey. i got it right so like he has no details Okay.
Natalie Richards: it
Felicia Devine: I don't even share any information with him.
Natalie Richards: okay This doesn't do good for Dan sometimes.
Felicia Devine: I'm just like. Okay. If Dan doesn't have details and I do, we're already off to a bad start.
Natalie Richards: Not good.
Felicia Devine: So we show up to this hotel. We walk in the lobby. Well, we do valet. We walk in the lobby because it's center city Philly. and I go up to the desk all proud and I'm like. I'm here to check in. And they're like, okay, what's the last name? And I was like, Define. And she's like.
Felicia Devine: um I don't have a reservation. For divine. And dan Dan looks at me.
Natalie Richards: Oh no.
Felicia Devine: I like it, Dan. I like the lady. I go, Faye, tell me, tell me you're joking.
Natalie Richards: Faye. Come on, Zay.
Felicia Devine: Faye. Fight.
Natalie Richards: They.
Felicia Devine: If they don't embarrass me in front of my husband. This is the first time I'm being a strong, independent woman. Don't embarrass me. So she she goes, hmm, do you have a confirmation number?
Natalie Richards: so
Felicia Devine: I go, as a matter of fact, I came prepared. My email was already pulled up, Natalie.
Natalie Richards: oh
Felicia Devine: I was ready. I was ready for oblig um obstacles. I was like.
Natalie Richards: Yes.
Felicia Devine: you know.
Natalie Richards: Okay.
Felicia Devine: I was prepared. So I start reading it off.
Natalie Richards: Mm hmm.
Felicia Devine: I go. I go. H. Two, she goes, I'm going to stop you there. It's only numbers. I go.
Felicia Devine: um Pardon? This is the only confirmation number I have.
Natalie Richards: Oh.
Felicia Devine: And it's not a confirmation number for their hotel.
Natalie Richards: No. hey
Felicia Devine: Apparently. Apparently. So then I look at Dan and Dan goes, are we at the wrong hotel? And I'm like, no, no, no. It's the correct hotel. And then he goes. Are they the right dates?
Natalie Richards: Right.
Felicia Devine: And I'm like, I'm like. Why are you questioning me? You should be like, Faye? Like, why are you questioning me?
Natalie Richards: Faye, you're the problem.
Felicia Devine: You could question today.
Natalie Richards: Thanks.
Felicia Devine: Face the problem. so I'm like, no no, no.
Natalie Richards: ah
Felicia Devine: There's a misunderstanding here because I have room. I booked a room. So she's like, yeah, I just, am I'm not seeing it. And I was like, then that's a you problem.
Felicia Devine: So I'm looking at my reservation again.
Natalie Richards: it's
Felicia Devine: And. On. The email, it says registered guests. Daniel Trapattoni. And I'm like, honestly wild that I would have registered a guest with myself.
Natalie Richards: wow
Felicia Devine: I don't know why I thought I should do that. Cause like, if you're going to, if you're booking like ah a dinner reservation on like.
Natalie Richards: Truthfully, yeah.
Felicia Devine: Rezzy?
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: It's like, oh, who are your guests? like Who fills that out?
Natalie Richards: No.
Felicia Devine: I wouldn't even.
Natalie Richards: No.
Felicia Devine: Anyway, so I apparently put Daniel Trapattoni. As my guest. on the reservation so i go well i do have a guest
Natalie Richards: Okay.
Felicia Devine: and She's like, well, let's try that. And I said, okay. Chabatoni? She's like, Daniel? I go. Yes, in fact.
Natalie Richards: and
Felicia Devine: We do have a Daniel. She goes.
Natalie Richards: Wait what?
Felicia Devine: She goes, where is he? I go. He's standing.
Natalie Richards: Right. here.
Felicia Devine: 35 centimeters from my left shoulder. Like what do you mean? Where is he?
Natalie Richards: of ken
Felicia Devine: He's the only other person in this room
Natalie Richards: Okay. Okay.
Felicia Devine: I'm like, Faye, use your eyeballs. So she was like, oh, yes, I do. I have Daniel's reservation.
Natalie Richards: oh
Felicia Devine: What?
Natalie Richards: Wait, what?
Felicia Devine: What? Crazy behavior. crazy. So I go, okay. That's fine. At least we have a reservation. I'm like a little less mad, but I'm still irked that like they would have my guest information.
Felicia Devine: as the reservation.
Natalie Richards: as the check -in. That's so weird.
Felicia Devine: So that irked me. But we had looked up in advance that you can use the pool. All day long. If you. are like checking in that day. So we were there like a little, like, I think we were there at like two and check -in was at four.
Natalie Richards: Oh yeah. early. A little early, yeah.
Felicia Devine: yeah so she was like well let me get a phone number to text so that when your room is ready you guys can come down and get your keys
Natalie Richards: There.
Felicia Devine: because she knew we you were going to go to the pool. I said, okay, Faye, I'll give you my number.
Natalie Richards: mm -hmm
Felicia Devine: Okay. My number. Give her my number. okay We go up to the pool. We're at the pool. Shoddy experience there.
Natalie Richards: Oh no.
Felicia Devine: We are sitting at a table, Natalie. A. Pool boy bartender. Busboy.
Natalie Richards: Mm hmm.
Felicia Devine: Collects other people's. beer bottles and beer cans that were empty, comes over and puts them on our table. as we're sitting at our table.
Natalie Richards: one.
Natalie Richards: What?
Felicia Devine: Five -star hotel. I just became a trash can. I just became a receptacle for used goods. Okay. So that was crazy. Anyway.
Natalie Richards: What hotel brand is this?
Felicia Devine: um I don't know.
Natalie Richards: I need you to drop the name
Felicia Devine: The W.
Natalie Richards: ah dang
Felicia Devine: Never. Oh, you should have seen the review I wrote them. the the minute we checked out.
Natalie Richards: way.
Felicia Devine: Okay, so we get a text. I get a text. My cell phone gets a text from Faye.
Natalie Richards: a
Felicia Devine: Mr. Tavitoni, your room is ready.
Natalie Richards: it's just the principle of it.
Felicia Devine: it is And I'm just like, Faye, you have two eyeballs and a working brain.
Natalie Richards: It's just so funny.
Felicia Devine: You're not even AI. Like you can. I told you I will give you my cell phone number after we had this whole Mr. Chabotoni debacle downstairs.
Natalie Richards: this is so funny because usually when we check into hotels everyone always calls kyle mr richards so Mr. and Mrs. Richards.
Felicia Devine: yeah And I'm like.
Natalie Richards: So he's used to it the other way.
Felicia Devine: My name... The fact that she was texting my cell phone number, calling it Mr.
Natalie Richards: is so funny
Felicia Devine: Tabatoni. I just was like, this is crazy. So. The room was gorgeous, whatever. We go to like start getting ready for dinner because we had dinner reservations and Dan's in the shower and he's like.
Felicia Devine: Where's the towel hook? And I'm like, what do you mean? He's like, there's no. There was no towel hook in the bathroom, Natalie. He had to put his towel on the ground. In a five -star hotel.
Natalie Richards: Very interesting.
Felicia Devine: His towel was sitting on the tile.
Natalie Richards: That's so funny.
Felicia Devine: and I was like, what is going on? And then. What else? Oh, there's no liners in the trash can So like you blow your nose.
Natalie Richards: ah I've been to a lot of hotels like that and I can't imagine.
Felicia Devine: And you just put your... Um, Nose boogies in an unlined trash can?
Natalie Richards: But I've been to... a lot of hotels that are... have unlined trash cans. I can't believe it.
Felicia Devine: That's just yucky.
Natalie Richards: It's gross. Yeah
Felicia Devine: So that was yuck. Um. Yeah.
Natalie Richards: So funny.
Felicia Devine: Bartenders. horribly rude. I don't know if it's a W issue.
Natalie Richards: Oh my word.
Felicia Devine: Or if it's a.
Natalie Richards: or a Philly issue.
Felicia Devine: Philly employee issue. My argument would probably be or my money would probably be on the fact that it's Philly.
Natalie Richards: mm -hmm
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: Humans.
Natalie Richards: Yeah. Yeah.
Felicia Devine: They're not nice. They're inconsiderate. They're rude. um They don't offer solution to conflict.
Natalie Richards: Mm hmm.
Felicia Devine: um I got like completely looked over at ah like the bar restaurant.
Natalie Richards: mm -hmm
Felicia Devine: They were serving people that like, there was like five people in the whole restaurant. And these other two people came up. quote. obviously behind me. And they were just like, Hey, like, we'll be right with you.
Natalie Richards: Uh huh.
Felicia Devine: Like, hold on. I'm sitting there. And like this other couple looks at me and they're like. is this happening and i was like
Natalie Richards: what
Felicia Devine: I've been waiting for like seven minutes to get service, never a greeting, never a hello. Then I finally flagged down the manager and he was like, what can I do for you? And I was like. Be nice.
Natalie Richards: Wow.
Felicia Devine: For starters, And then I asked for ah two Bloody Marys. And he was like, yeah, I just 69 my Bloody Marys. You can go to the bar next door. Okay. Sure, but resolution to the conflict, right?
Natalie Richards: Sure.
Felicia Devine: Go next door to the bar in the lobby.
Natalie Richards: heavy
Felicia Devine: He he also manages, right?
Natalie Richards: Mm -hmm. mm -hmm
Felicia Devine: It's not open. He knew that.
Natalie Richards: Oh.
Felicia Devine: It's not open.
Natalie Richards: my gosh.
Felicia Devine: So he sent me to a bar that's closed. in In the same building. I could throw a rock at the bar.
Natalie Richards: Oh no.
Felicia Devine: It's not like he didn't know that.
Natalie Richards: That makes me nervous. That's where we're going.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: We're going to the W in Punta Cana in February. And I'm like.
Felicia Devine: Okay, well, hopefully they didn't. import Philly ah employees.
Natalie Richards: Hopefully not. However, I'm not sure that the Dominican. of employees are going to be that much. better.
Felicia Devine: I don't know. it was like It was outlandish. And then I felt like... Am I the problem? Because like I had expectation that it was going to be a nice weekend. And don't get me wrong. Lovely weekend. It wasn't like I was staying at a motel.
Felicia Devine: But...
Natalie Richards: No.
Felicia Devine: It still was just like so jarring to like go into an environment where you're just like, am I the dumb one?
Natalie Richards: That's so funny. where you expect that it's go that it's supposed to be really good too.
Felicia Devine: Am I being stupid? Yeah. So I wrote a gnarly review because my Aunt Judy once said, if it's... worth If it's worth complaining about, it's worth saying something about it.
Natalie Richards: That's such an Aunt Judy comment.
Felicia Devine: It is because she's like, if you're going to complain about it, you have to tell the right person.
Natalie Richards: I love that Yeah, that's true
Felicia Devine: So I told the right person.
Natalie Richards: That's true. so that something gets done about it.
Felicia Devine: And then they wrote me an email and they're like, Sarah, you had a ah bad experience.
Natalie Richards: Okay, good.
Felicia Devine: We'll do our best to be better. I'm like, no, you won't.
Natalie Richards: Okay.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: Thank you so much.
Felicia Devine: They were like, Mr. Chabotoni, sorry you had a bad experience.
Natalie Richards: Mr. Chivadunga. Yeah.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: I'm sorry sir.
Felicia Devine: So that was about the hotel. The weekend away without Giuseppe, um he did phenomenal.
Natalie Richards: That's... Great. Mhm.
Felicia Devine: He like didn't even ask for us because he's just like.
Natalie Richards: Awesome. Perfect.
Felicia Devine: you know living his good life with my parents However, He was so... deranged at night. He was like, my mom was like, oh yeah, he's finally asleep after like three hours of trying to put him to bed.
Natalie Richards: oh
Natalie Richards: yeah
Felicia Devine: They gave him like... Thor. Bottles of milk. Like first off, he's in a. A coma?
Natalie Richards: oh boy He's gonna be shitting his pants.
Felicia Devine: And. Yeah. I'm like, oh my God.
Natalie Richards: um
Felicia Devine: And also like we had done so good at like. nixing the bottle I was more so like hey you can give him a bottle to like kind of like help soothe him to sleep not like like I wasn't expecting him to then like
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: Mm -hmm. help him fall asleep.
Felicia Devine: he He became addicted to the bottle.
Natalie Richards: I see.
Felicia Devine: It was like.
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: It was like a like an addict that was clean and then got like.
Natalie Richards: Gene had that had a moment had a while that he was like that, where it was like it was his.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: It was his. thing. And he, is he still like that now?
Felicia Devine: It's like... He was seeking it. No, because what we ended up doing when we got home and he was addicted to the bottle.
Natalie Richards: Okay.
Natalie Richards: Mm hmm.
Felicia Devine: Um, which I told them like, you can use a bottle. I shouldn't have done that.
Natalie Richards: Yeah. but
Felicia Devine: I shouldn't have done that.
Natalie Richards: Yeah. Yeah.
Felicia Devine: it we We weaned to the bottle when he turned two. Like we shouldn't have reintroduced it.
Natalie Richards: Yep.
Felicia Devine: but That was on me.
Natalie Richards: Yep.
Felicia Devine: So we mailed them.
Natalie Richards: Hello. We'll touch it.
Felicia Devine: To all the babies in in heaven who don't have bottles.
Natalie Richards: What we don't know Perfect. Perfect. Okay, good.
Felicia Devine: Mm -hmm So he packed them all up himself.
Natalie Richards: Good good good. yeah dady Robbie's out of batteries. Daddy turned him off because he was too loud. Thank you, Jean.
Felicia Devine: oh He's like, the vacuums aren't working. We are being overcome by hair.
Natalie Richards: The vacuums are out of batteries. What are we gonna do?
Felicia Devine: oh So, yeah, Steppy packed them all up himself. He went over to his pantry. He packed them all up in a bag, and he took them out to the mailbox, and he put them in the mailbox, and we mailed them to the babies in heaven.
Natalie Richards: Amazing. Amazing.
Felicia Devine: And haven't had one since.
Natalie Richards: Okay.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: Bye -bye!
Felicia Devine: So other than that.
Natalie Richards: Good deal.
Felicia Devine: He did great.
Natalie Richards: Awesome.
Felicia Devine: Yeah, but sleeping and naptimes were... quite Atrocious.
Natalie Richards: Because it, it yeah.
Felicia Devine: It's derailing.
Natalie Richards: It's so hard.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: It's so hard.
Felicia Devine: it We didn't get back on track. When did I go? ah Mid -July?
Natalie Richards: Oh my gosh, it's been, yeah.
Felicia Devine: but I mean... my ah weeks.
Natalie Richards: ae Yeah.
Felicia Devine: We just got back on track with sleeping like six days ago, not even five days ago.
Natalie Richards: oh It's horrific.
Felicia Devine: Weeks.
Natalie Richards: No, it's really hard.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: Really hard.
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: that's why i yeah That's why I kept with his for so long. Because I was just like, I can't deal with this.
Felicia Devine: Yeah. Yeah.
Natalie Richards: I can't. And I know he'll go to sleep. So I just don't care.
Felicia Devine: Right. Right.
Natalie Richards: truthfully.
Felicia Devine: I know. so
Natalie Richards: But then it became an at addict situation and then it was like, okay, we're done.
Felicia Devine: It is really crazy how a child of that age, size and... mindset can become addicted.
Natalie Richards: truthfully.
Felicia Devine: Like I could see now like iPad kids
Natalie Richards: Oh yeah.
Felicia Devine: You take their iPad away and they literally like you took Seppi's bottle away and he was like.
Natalie Richards: Oh yeah. Mhm.
Felicia Devine: ah Like.
Natalie Richards: mm -hmm mm -hmm
Felicia Devine: He wasn't like... mean but he was like Like, deranged.
Natalie Richards: Yeah, like they don't know what to do.
Felicia Devine: Like, he was like... Disoriented.
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: That was. we've been kind of dealing with that a little bit with um For a while, like Jean would watch TV and it would be like. fine like it would be a movie and it would be fine it didn't it was like it would end and then it would be fine then we ended up getting wi -fi at our house and we got Okay.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: Give me just one second, okay? You go sit on the toilet and I'll come help you. He... We got. Netflix. And we... had the ability to watch like whatever he wanted for as long you know and it never ended right like they just keep playing more things right so he became very addicted to that and recently i said okay We're done.
Felicia Devine: mm -hmm Mhm. Yeah.
Natalie Richards: So now we've gone back to like DVD only.
Felicia Devine: Mm.
Natalie Richards: So if he wants to watch a movie, it's what we used to do. And it was DVD only.
Felicia Devine: Yeah. Right.
Natalie Richards: And it has. completely changed him. like He just doesn't care anymore.
Felicia Devine: Right.
Natalie Richards: He doesn't care about it. He could watch for 10 minutes and be like, okay, I'm going to go play with my dinosaurs now.
Felicia Devine: Right. Mm hmm. Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: It's amazing.
Felicia Devine: Did you have him ever watch the show Monster Wheelies on Netflix?
Natalie Richards: so
Natalie Richards: Oh yes. Oh yes.
Felicia Devine: Okay. Is that some, some like who designed that? It is almost like a 4D experience.
Natalie Richards: Mm -hmm.
Felicia Devine: Giuseppe saw it like three times and was. He still talks about it.
Natalie Richards: mm -hmm
Felicia Devine: to this day.
Natalie Richards: Some of them are.
Felicia Devine: Monster wheelies. And I'm like, no.
Natalie Richards: Out of control. out of control
Felicia Devine: Out of control.
Natalie Richards: mm -hmm
Felicia Devine: It's like Paw Patrol, but it's like the camera shakes and there's like so much movement.
Natalie Richards: So. Mm -hmm.
Felicia Devine: It's like flashing in your eyes.
Natalie Richards: No, it's bad.
Felicia Devine: It's like.
Natalie Richards: It's bad
Felicia Devine: Yeah, it's crazy.
Natalie Richards: for a little while i didn't think it was doing anything to him but then it's just now like completely cutting all that out i was like oh that was good but like movies don't do that to him like on a tv up on the wall.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: to watch Want a DVD?
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: it doesn't have that same effect
Felicia Devine: Mm -mm.
Natalie Richards: It's really interesting.
Natalie Richards: But we're not necessarily like... I don't care to be screen free because I...
Felicia Devine: Right.
Natalie Richards: feel like.
Felicia Devine: It's a tool.
Natalie Richards: They are very useful and I will use them.
Felicia Devine: Hence how we're able to podcast.
Natalie Richards: Correct. So like...
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: yeah i will put a movie on for him in the middle of the day i do not care
Felicia Devine: Mm -hmm
Natalie Richards: But that is something I do not care about. Um, iPads?
Felicia Devine: We're just not at the age that we can do that.
Natalie Richards: No, no. no you're not you're not
Felicia Devine: Right. Because he, the A, doesn't have the attention span to watch a movie, and B.
Natalie Richards: mm -mm
Felicia Devine: I can't trust that if he's in there watching a movie while I'm doing something that he's not. escaping and doing something crazy. So we're just not at that age yet, but I will let him watch.
Natalie Richards: Totally, and he would. He would.
Felicia Devine: like trash truck, he's allowed to watch three things.
Natalie Richards: Mm -hmm.
Felicia Devine: Trash Rock?
Natalie Richards: mm -hmm
Felicia Devine: Paw Patrol. And. um Thomas the Train.
Natalie Richards: yes
Felicia Devine: And that's like if I have to get ready for work and I need 25 minutes.
Natalie Richards: Those are like mm -hmm And he's used to it.
Felicia Devine: Or Dan has to cook dinner for 25 minutes.
Natalie Richards: It's not like this. Exactly. It's not like it's this novel thing that he is going to be like.
Felicia Devine: Yeah. Right.
Natalie Richards: really like into.
Felicia Devine: Yeah, but there was a hot second of monster wheelies.
Natalie Richards: he's just it's just there
Felicia Devine: Like.
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: Like. expectation Every moment would be like this and then Monster Wheelies. And we're like, we don't watch Monster Wheelies on Sundays.
Natalie Richards: ah Right. No, it actually is crazy.
Felicia Devine: like
Natalie Richards: Like they literally will be like, no, that's the one I want.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: And it's very obviously like. an addiction focused show where they're trying to do that.
Felicia Devine: Right. Yeah. Yeah, but I have.
Natalie Richards: they're
Felicia Devine: I have heard kind of like what you were saying, the difference between like a TV on the wall that's far away versus an iPad.
Natalie Richards: Yeah. It's very different.
Felicia Devine: And the like brain chemistry of it.
Natalie Richards: Yep.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: I'll notice. I will notice right away. Like after, cause he'll watch an iPad just the only time he ever gets it is on our way to the lake.
Felicia Devine: If it's an iPad thing.
Natalie Richards: Like if he, and he only gets it for maybe like an hour of the car ride.
Felicia Devine: Okay. In the car.
Natalie Richards: So he has to sit there and twiddle his thumbs for three hours.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: and then or sleep or whatever i have something in my eyeball
Felicia Devine: Right. Does he have a yodo player?
Natalie Richards: He does. And he will, he will use that.
Felicia Devine: Okay, does he use it?
Natalie Richards: It's one of those things where it will keep him maybe busy for 15 minutes. And that's about it.
Felicia Devine: Oh.
Natalie Richards: So.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: But he maybe now he would like that a little bit more now that he knows what the.
Felicia Devine: Mhm.
Natalie Richards: like what they are and what the stories are and he can actually listen.
Felicia Devine: We have like a few of the Disney movies. We have like Nemo, Monsters, Inc. um I forget what's him up.
Natalie Richards: I have the classic Disney ones.
Felicia Devine: He hasn't seen them. Yeah.
Natalie Richards: yeah
Felicia Devine: He hasn't seen them, but we'll put them on. Like he used it in the car yesterday. We had like a 40 minute drive each way.
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: But. this The card he chose was... his Christmas music card the whole time.
Natalie Richards: a horse That's so funny genie yesterday. He wanted to listen to a Christmas record
Felicia Devine: Yeah, we've been reading Christmas books and listening to Christmas music the past week.
Natalie Richards: It's so funny I love it. I love it.
Felicia Devine: I'm like, don't burn your candle too quick because by the time Christmas comes, we're going to be full on Christmas spirit and you're going to be sick of it.
Natalie Richards: No, because this is a long... This is a long season. I know. I am so ready to have Christmas spirit this year. Oh my gosh.
Felicia Devine: ah yeah I know last year was a lot for you.
Natalie Richards: Last year, I was not. I was not into it.
Felicia Devine: You were really not okay because that was like your concussion.
Natalie Richards: I'm feeling ready. Yeah, it was my concussion and like major Lyme and mold.
Felicia Devine: Wasn't it?
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: Yeah. Oh, give us your lime and mold update.
Natalie Richards: Mm hmm. I know. Uh, it's good. Everything, all my numbers have come down significantly.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: Mold is undetectable now.
Felicia Devine: oh Natalie!
Natalie Richards: So that's huge. h
Felicia Devine: That's massive.
Natalie Richards: Huge.
Felicia Devine: Because that's your co -infection to your Lyme disease, correct?
Natalie Richards: And then. ah Pretty much. It's kind of like they run in a lot of people. They run together.
Felicia Devine: Tandem.
Natalie Richards: So like you could have. Let's just say somebody has Lyme. Lyme exposure at a young age. They're fine, essentially, until they move into a house that has mold in it.
Natalie Richards: And then it brings out all the symptoms.
Felicia Devine: And they're so prone to getting it.
Natalie Richards: Or... It could be the opposite where like you've had mold exposure for a long time. All of a sudden you get bit by a tick, your body can't handle it and you go into like major symptoms.
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: So it just.
Felicia Devine: Right.
Natalie Richards: It depends. I think we can handle
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: Either one. probably separately. Okay.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: But then when they're together, it makes it.
Felicia Devine: Really hard.
Natalie Richards: worse. Yeah.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: yeah um
Felicia Devine: How are your symptoms?
Natalie Richards: symptoms are I would say better for sure I'm right now so the last time I went my adrenals were tanked which Big shocker there. um So, and.
Felicia Devine: Ha ha. Oh.
Natalie Richards: It was funny because I wasn't feeling it. until maybe like a week after I went and then I was like Oh my God, I literally can't even wake up in the morning, which I haven't had that. that feeling in a very long time.
Natalie Richards: I had that a little bit in school like at Palmer. where I would just be like, I live i cannot. get up. Like it's not.
Felicia Devine: hey
Natalie Richards: going to happen um so that was weird because i haven't experienced that in a long time So I've been taking, it's so funny. He put me on Drenamine. like the the old school, like standard process.
Natalie Richards: <unk>nimin which is like, it essentially has adrenal gland in it. And, and it was kind of just like.
Felicia Devine: Interesting.
Natalie Richards: a bunch of different, different things for your, it's such a throwback.
Felicia Devine: What a throwback.
Natalie Richards: I was like, really Dreneman? Um, so I've been taking that in the mornings and.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: it's it helped It's helped a little bit, but I'm... I still feel like I could sleep for 10 hours and not have It'd be enough.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: So which is. It is a little weird because I was not feeling like that. before. So, um, but he thinks that the last little bit of lime that I'm treating, like there's only a little bit left and plasmodia, which is essentially like a malarial.
Felicia Devine: Before he told you that, you you hadn't noticed it.
Natalie Richards: Malarial. Parasite. So those are the only two things that are left. And he thinks that there's like hiding in the adrenal gland.
Felicia Devine: oh
Natalie Richards: probably for a very long time. Because when I was a kid... and my mom would get me tested. for certain things. I always had an adrenal issue. Like, why as an eight?
Felicia Devine: A child, yeah.
Natalie Richards: 9, 10. it would would you have an adrenal problem so That's kind of what where it's probably been for a very, very long time.
Felicia Devine: Hiding. Yeah.
Natalie Richards: Now it's it's coming out and it's making me very fatigued. to deal with it.
Felicia Devine: Now... I have a few people that have asked me in the office from listening to our podcast what the doctor.
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: what his style of practice is or how how somebody could seek out that type of doctor.
Natalie Richards: I know. It's so hard.
Felicia Devine: What is he called? And like, how does somebody find one?
Natalie Richards: It's so hard. His credentials it is a naturopathic doctor.
Felicia Devine: Okay, so I'll start off by saying in Pennsylvania, naturopathic doctors are not allowed to be licensed independently.
Natalie Richards: but
Natalie Richards: They are not in Illinois either.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: um So...
Felicia Devine: So we're screwed.
Natalie Richards: It's so right. um So that's why i go I go to Wisconsin for this, which there are naturopaths in.
Felicia Devine: You'll have to make your way to Arizona. Arizona certainly has naturopaths.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: Illinois. They just like.
Felicia Devine: They just can't. the scope of what they're actually allowed to do.
Natalie Richards: it's very yeah they can't do a lot of the things that a naturopath would usually do.
Felicia Devine: okay
Natalie Richards: um So he uses, i that there's a lot of different names for it. I guess like the umbrella. One of your patients actually messaged me and I messaged her back and I was like, the umbrella is frequency medicine.
Felicia Devine: Oh.
Natalie Richards: So frequency medicine could be...
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: Could be AK, could be homeopathy, could be muscle testing, could be using frequencies of the body against frequencies of the natural world.
Felicia Devine: Homeopathy.
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: And you determine what. what works with the frequency, what doesn't.
Felicia Devine: What's symbiotic and what is not.
Natalie Richards: So that's essentially, yeah.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: Yeah. Like what what is is working and what's not. So that's kind of the umbrella. this particular, so like muscle testing can get you there. can get you kind of to the same to the same conclusions i just like can't treat myself because i just have a Mental block.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: Right, right
Natalie Richards: And I needed to like have a very specific.
Felicia Devine: Well and you're sick.
Natalie Richards: And I'm so right.
Felicia Devine: It's not like it's not like you're like, oh, I want to see if like this is cool. Like you have like. sickness in your body. So like you're getting a mixed signal.
Natalie Richards: Right. I need somebody else to tell me like what.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: what I'm... having to decipher.
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: So. So this would be called like bioenergetic testing, I believe, but he uses a machine to do this.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: Like it's a, it's a computer system. So it's a computer software. that he got trained on. 20 years ago and i i'm sure they do training still i have to he Nowadays, he says his is a little bit antiquated.
Natalie Richards: where there's like there's new ones where you can just hold on to this device with two hands. and it'll like tell you everything all in like 10 minutes of what you. what your problems are and what you need to take and blah, blah, blah.
Natalie Richards: His is a little longer.
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: So you have to sit there, go through all the different sections and And it takes about an hour, hour and 20 minutes to do the whole.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: the whole testing.
Felicia Devine: Test.
Natalie Richards: So there's a lot of different ways you can do it now. But it's it's frequency medicine, bioenergetic.
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: Bio resonance, I think, is is another name for it.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: So it's kind of tough.
Felicia Devine: So. I was going to say Jenny, our homeopath, she has. A German. technology system.
Natalie Richards: Okay.
Felicia Devine: that uses HRV. And it bio -maps your entire body. So it looks at your brain waves.
Natalie Richards: mm -hmm
Felicia Devine: It looks at your chakras. It looks at your organ systems. It looks at your um biologic age versus your actual age.
Natalie Richards: Yep.
Natalie Richards: Exactly.
Felicia Devine: It looks. it looks at all these things and she can click through all the screens.
Natalie Richards: That would be a video. Similar.
Felicia Devine: So it's very similar.
Natalie Richards: Yep.
Felicia Devine: And then she uses frequency medicine. So she uses home ah homeopathy as like her source of medicine.
Natalie Richards: Yep.
Natalie Richards: Yep.
Felicia Devine: um And she also is very versed in like vitamins and supplements and stuff.
Natalie Richards: Yep.
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: But so if you're local to Pennsylvania or actually you don't even have to be that local.
Natalie Richards: Yeah
Natalie Richards: You don't even have to be because then
Felicia Devine: but you know.
Natalie Richards: Because there's a whole subset then where you can do this remotely too, which we've done the emotion code remotely.
Felicia Devine: okay
Felicia Devine: Mm -hmm.
Natalie Richards: technically I can do the muscle testing remotely. It's just or you can find practitioners that will do it.
Felicia Devine: Right. Right.
Natalie Richards: remotely. For what I'm doing in particular, you have to be in person to do it, to hold the probes and to have it have it done.
Felicia Devine: Right. Right.
Natalie Richards: So it just depends.
Felicia Devine: And jenny's Jenny's machine is also a local thing, but.
Natalie Richards: Depends on... Yep.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: Yep. So it just depends on what. what it is, but you can get to the same. Answers. in a lot of different ways.
Felicia Devine: Do you think he would be open to you like doing like a behind the scenes like filming of your testing?
Natalie Richards: Oh probably, yeah I could do that next time. He probably would.
Felicia Devine: I really want to book a session with Jenny and do it because my parents both use Jenny and they use her like she does all their like heart mapping, all that stuff.
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: Amazing.
Felicia Devine: And my mom. In. 365 calendar days.
Natalie Richards: Mm -hmm.
Felicia Devine: is a different person from where she started with Jenny to where she is now using homeopathy.
Natalie Richards: Is she really? I'm so glad
Felicia Devine: It's insane. And then my dad started working with Jenny this.
Natalie Richards: That's kind of where we're getting with my with my dad too.
Felicia Devine: this summer.
Natalie Richards: Cause I've been doing a lot of like.
Felicia Devine: Oh, yeah.
Natalie Richards: I just kind of like shifted. a couple weeks ago, I was like, you need to be doing some homeopathic stuff. And it has helped him a lot because he was even after like his.
Felicia Devine: Good.
Natalie Richards: There's a lot of things I i ran. ah We can have a whole other podcast on like what I'm doing for my dad. I think we should probably um because I ran.
Felicia Devine: who
Natalie Richards: an insane amount of blood work for him. And I'd love to go over just like some of the blood work that I ran just to like determine.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: where exactly is
Felicia Devine: The problem.
Natalie Richards: all of this stuff coming from? Does he have another aspect of a problem besides AFib? Does he even have AFib?
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: I don't know. So that we have a lot of details to go over with all of that, but I, he was having a lot of breathing issues and I think.
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: He's always had that. He's always had COPD because his parents smoked when he was younger. um So he's always had it. Always has just like.
Natalie Richards: a hard time. breathing under exertion.
Felicia Devine: Keeping up.
Natalie Richards: Yeah. So but that has gotten worse over the last month. And I was like, well, he probably picked up something from the hospital more than likely.
Felicia Devine: a
Felicia Devine: hey
Natalie Richards: And then, so he's been having a really hard time sleeping just because of. breathing and then I had him start all this stuff. all this herbs and homeopathy. And all of a sudden he like woke up in the middle of the night the other day and he was like, oh, everything cleared.
Natalie Richards: cleared out like his sinus is his chest so I'm hoping it will stay that way but that i think
Felicia Devine: That's awesome. Wow.
Natalie Richards: a lot of it was homeopathy.
Felicia Devine: hey
Natalie Richards: And I'm trying to like help explain to my parents how it all works. And it's so hard because it's so difficult to explain.
Felicia Devine: I know. It's so hard.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: to people how it works, but you just.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: you You just trust the process.
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: You can just trust the process.
Felicia Devine: What's so crazy is watching firsthand. homeopathy work in other people.
Natalie Richards: Yeah. And you're like, wait, I told you
Felicia Devine: Because like it's one thing for it to like work on yourself because you're like, yeah, I expect it to.
Natalie Richards: I know. Okay.
Felicia Devine: But like watching it work on other people and like so.
Natalie Richards: something.
Natalie Richards: It's like yes
Felicia Devine: part of the way homeopathy works too is like almost like you have to like relive some of your symptoms, maybe. if that's like a fair way of saying it.
Natalie Richards: Yes, you do You have to, I always say.
Felicia Devine: It like exposes your symptoms.
Natalie Richards: You want it to be changing your symptoms and whether it's changing it and increasing them.
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: for a moment. or it's changing them and making it making it better right away.
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: You just don't want to. be stuck.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: it's It's eliminating the stuckness.
Felicia Devine: And what's cool.
Natalie Richards: of your typical symptom. path like progression.
Felicia Devine: Yeah. And once, like, okay, so my mom. what is has been working with Jenny. Jenny put her on a new protocol this summer. And.
Felicia Devine: um It was to help her get over some of these post -surgical like sedation medications that she was on during surgery and like all these things.
Natalie Richards: mm -hmm Yeah.
Felicia Devine: And then also for clearing out.
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: So my mom was on a steroid for like. Over a year.
Natalie Richards: Ugh.
Felicia Devine: like she was on prednisone over for over a year like high dose taper
Natalie Richards: That's right, because she was having major reactions.
Felicia Devine: Yeah, she she has.
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: Yeah. So. When she put. When Jenny put my mom on this like steroid cleaning and like clearing. home ah homeopathic remedy, my mom's...
Natalie Richards: mm -hmm
Felicia Devine: Legs and ankles literally started swelling she had Horrific. leg swelling for like.
Natalie Richards: Sure.
Felicia Devine: two and a half weeks. It was like concerning.
Natalie Richards: I...
Felicia Devine: We almost like took her to the hospital.
Natalie Richards: Right. Where you're like nervous about it.
Felicia Devine: Yeah, because we're like, do you have a cardiac issue?
Natalie Richards: Right. mm -hmm
Felicia Devine: like Because if it was situational, like because we did fly to Minnesota, maybe it was from the flight, but then like it didn't help like it didn't go down.
Natalie Richards: Yeah. Sure.
Felicia Devine: And then like they came back and it was like. It was all these things. And then we were like, oh my gosh, steroids help your body retain water.
Natalie Richards: a
Felicia Devine: If you're clearing the steroid from your system and it's in your system floating around, your body is going to retain water.
Natalie Richards: Sure.
Felicia Devine: And then it was like, she just. kept forging ahead and doing the remedies and like sticking to the game plan and it's like It like.
Natalie Richards: mm -hmm
Natalie Richards: Yep.
Felicia Devine: She like had a breakthrough.
Natalie Richards: Yep. And that's what, that's exactly what happens.
Felicia Devine: It's so cool Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: That happened to my dad too. Cause he just was like. I don't know something I'm taking, like, I think it's making it worse and blah, blah, blah. And he was getting, you know, nervous about it.
Felicia Devine: Yeah. frustrated. Yeah.
Natalie Richards: and then it's like if you just Stick with...
Felicia Devine: Keep going. Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: Stick with it. Stick with the plan. figure it out and just like
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: Deal with it. and you help your body go through the symptoms it needs to go through to actually get over that thing.
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm. Yeah.
Natalie Richards: instead of suppressing it like every other medication does.
Felicia Devine: Honestly, it's easier said than done though.
Natalie Richards: it ah totally Oh, it totally is. It totally is.
Felicia Devine: I'm like... I'm not the one walking around with swelling. So I'm like, forge ahead.
Natalie Richards: Totally.
Felicia Devine: And it's like, you just have to kind of trust the process, but it.
Natalie Richards: Mhm.
Natalie Richards: You do.
Felicia Devine: I don't know. I mean, my dad also had like crazy flu -like symptoms when he first started. And he was like, I don't want to do this.
Natalie Richards: I.
Felicia Devine: And I'm like, you have to do it.
Natalie Richards: Totally.
Felicia Devine: And he was like, I don't want to do this.
Natalie Richards: Just keep going. Please just keep going.
Felicia Devine: Like, I don't think I've ever seen my dad like take a nap and he was like taking a nap.
Natalie Richards: Oh my goodness.
Felicia Devine: And I'm like. Oh, that's not good.
Natalie Richards: Good.
Felicia Devine: But like.
Natalie Richards: See?
Felicia Devine: But, you know? the frequency, you know, the me like the medicinal effects of it are working when you get symptoms.
Natalie Richards: ah Absolutely.
Felicia Devine: Because homeopath like homeopathy does not work if your body doesn't receive it.
Natalie Richards: Mm -hmm
Felicia Devine: So you could drink you could drink a gallon of Ignatia and it literally wouldn't do anything to you if you don't need it.
Natalie Richards: It's not going to do anything to you Right.
Felicia Devine: So I'm like.
Natalie Richards: If you need it, it's going to...
Felicia Devine: It means it's working.
Natalie Richards: It's going to do something.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: It's going to help your body progress through the symptoms it needs to.
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: And that's kind of how it's been with even my treatment with with the Lyme stuff.
Felicia Devine: Yeah. Right.
Natalie Richards: I'm like, it's been very funny because I'll have... a resurgence of a symptom I had. 10 years ago for like.
Felicia Devine: Yes. Like your foot pain.
Natalie Richards: A week. And it'll be like a week of that thing. And then. it's gone and I'm moving through, moving on to the next thing.
Felicia Devine: Mhm.
Natalie Richards: And it's like, I want to feel that stuff.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: And the naturopath is so funny.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: He's like, you are so in tune with what's happening. He goes, I don't hear this stuff from anybody.
Felicia Devine: Well, like you're so different than. yeah I was like, can't believe ga believe my feet are burning.
Natalie Richards: he's like Yeah.
Felicia Devine: That must mean it's working.
Natalie Richards: I know. I was like, oh my gosh, I'm so excited that I had a little bit of foot pain because now I'm...
Felicia Devine: Yes.
Natalie Richards: like
Felicia Devine: Yes.
Natalie Richards: He's like, you're so funny.
Felicia Devine: I think that also can be said for chiropractic because sometimes when patients come to us and they're like, oh, I just have like. I just have like low back pain. And then we start working on things and they're like, well, I'm getting headaches.
Felicia Devine: And I'm like, well, maybe. we're unwinding things and the headaches were a part of your story years ago.
Natalie Richards: Yep.
Felicia Devine: And now your body's like healing from them.
Natalie Richards: Yep.
Felicia Devine: So like that might be part of the process and it's hard to like.
Natalie Richards: Exactly. Yep.
Felicia Devine: Explain it.
Natalie Richards: It really is.
Felicia Devine: I had.
Natalie Richards: Like we get it so deeply that it's like, duh.
Felicia Devine: Yeah. Like I don't even have to like think about it because I'm like.
Natalie Richards: No.
Felicia Devine: I get it. But I have a have a patient and she's just an absolute hoot.
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: She's so funny. And she comes in every time. She's at like a new patient. And she comes in and she's like. Felicia, I don't know. I'm feeling better, but I don't know if this is working. And I'm like, girlfriend, it's working. And she's like, I don't know. She's like, I i find it hard to believe because she's low velocity. or um She's, ah yeah, low velocity.
Natalie Richards: Love horse.
Felicia Devine: low force. I'm like, what is, what am I saying?
Natalie Richards: Mm -hmm
Felicia Devine: She's a low force adjustment. So it's very simple, very gentle.
Natalie Richards: um
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: Um, and she was like, I just can't imagine that this is doing anything to my nervous system except for I'm having all these changes.
Natalie Richards: right Right. No!
Felicia Devine: And I'm like, there's the whimsy.
Natalie Richards: but She just can't believe it.
Felicia Devine: i'm like I'm like chiropractic is so whimsy because you can't see it.
Natalie Richards: Yep. we have It is so whimsy.
Felicia Devine: You can't see it.
Natalie Richards: mm -hmm
Felicia Devine: And it's so cool because I'm like, every time she's in, we just giggle because she's like, I don't want to believe it.
Natalie Richards: Yep. I have people say that to me all the time where it's just like.
Felicia Devine: I'm like, believe it. Yes.
Natalie Richards: I didn't even realize that this was. how I was feeling before because I can't even believe that I feel like this now.
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm. Yes, yes
Natalie Richards: And it. It's not like we did much yeah
Felicia Devine: Speaking of not doing much. I started dabbling in tonal, Natalie.
Natalie Richards: Oh boy.
Felicia Devine: Okay, i took an icpa I took an ICPA course on...
Natalie Richards: No, I like it. It's good. It's good.
Felicia Devine: um ah for a lack of a better term, special needs children.
Natalie Richards: yes
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: Yeah, perfect storm.
Felicia Devine: Anybody who's a special population. um It had a little bit more of like a specific niche, but ah for the lack of.
Natalie Richards: mm -hmm
Natalie Richards: Yes.
Felicia Devine: Everybody's understanding. um And it's teaching these tonal. ah points for kids that have difficulty with. touch with sensory input with like.
Felicia Devine: Not every kid can get an arthro stem or an activator adjustment.
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: It's just not possible for their nervous system to even accept it because they're so sensitive.
Natalie Richards: Yeah. Handle it. Yeah.
Felicia Devine: um And this tonal technique is so... Like. This means this.
Natalie Richards: mm -hmm
Felicia Devine: This means this. And that's like, it's like very like.
Natalie Richards: Wow. I like that
Felicia Devine: standard, like you do this if you see this.
Natalie Richards: Mm -hmm. Mm hmm.
Felicia Devine: And there's like two parts of it. So you can't like confuse yourself.
Natalie Richards: I like it
Felicia Devine: I am seeing... Insane results, Natalie.
Natalie Richards: I love it
Felicia Devine: Like at first I was like, I almost feel bad charging people for this because I'm like, I'm literally doing. what feels like nothing.
Natalie Richards: Nothing.
Felicia Devine: And like very little, nothing.
Natalie Richards: Mm -hmm
Felicia Devine: Like it's only two adjustments.
Natalie Richards: Wow
Felicia Devine: Tonally. We're seeing incredible results.
Natalie Richards: Wow.
Felicia Devine: incredible. Like I'm saying, like I've been treating a family now for
Natalie Richards: I love it.
Felicia Devine: four and a half or five years, and we've been working on bedwetting with the oldest.
Natalie Richards: You know?
Felicia Devine: Literally after the first adjustment first tonal adjustment, I have been seeing this kid and I have tried. Toggle. And it's not like I've tried toggle once, like his technique for.
Natalie Richards: No, you've tried like all of the things. Yeah.
Felicia Devine: Six to eight months, toggle. I've tried side posture. I've tried Thompson. I've tried diversified. I have tried drop in the like cervicals. I've tried i've tried every technique you can think of.
Natalie Richards: okay
Felicia Devine: Tonal, one adjustment.
Natalie Richards: Really?
Felicia Devine: And the first week, i got ah he got two tonal adjustments. Five of the seven nights were dry.
Felicia Devine: And he's in upper elementary.
Natalie Richards: Okay?
Felicia Devine: Like, it's not like he's like four.
Natalie Richards: Yeah. Yeah. Something's happening. Yeah.
Felicia Devine: Yes.
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: It's incredible.
Natalie Richards: Wow I love it
Felicia Devine: Incredible. And it's so powerful. And it's so I'm literally like blown away.
Natalie Richards: You'll have to teach me.
Felicia Devine: it's I will.
Natalie Richards: Or tell me what you where you learned it.
Felicia Devine: I will. No, it like I said, it's so simple, Natalie.
Natalie Richards: Mhm.
Felicia Devine: Like this means this.
Natalie Richards: Mhm.
Felicia Devine: You do two leg checks, you do an upper cervical one, and you do a deer field.
Natalie Richards: Okay.
Felicia Devine: This means this. This means this.
Natalie Richards: Okay.
Felicia Devine: And I didn't understand tonal, but tonal. So if you're doing an osseous chiropractic adjustment, like you and I would do, like if you're doing a Thompson method or a supine, like diversified, whatever.
Natalie Richards: one
Felicia Devine: And Aussie is suggesting you're looking for what's going wrong in the nervous system. Okay, so you're looking for a joint that is stuck.
Natalie Richards: yes
Natalie Richards: Yes.
Felicia Devine: a joint that has tenderness, ah tight fibers, inflammation, swell, yeah.
Natalie Richards: Swelling. Whatever. Yep.
Felicia Devine: um Now, when you're doing tonal. You go to the area of the spine that's doing it. the most correct. Like you're looking for the area of the body that is doing.
Natalie Richards: oh
Felicia Devine: the best. Because that's your access point into the nervous system.
Natalie Richards: I see.
Felicia Devine: So you're looking for the portal that feels the best. to access the point of the nervous system that you're looking to access. Because if you're looking at the part of the nervous system or the spine that is the most stuck,
Natalie Richards: okay
Felicia Devine: you're You're hitting the joint.
Natalie Richards: Sure.
Felicia Devine: Whereas tonal, you want to hit the dura.
Natalie Richards: Sure. Got it.
Felicia Devine: So when we're doing the leg checks for the tonal adjustment.
Natalie Richards: Okay. This is for deeper stuff. This is for like, yeah.
Felicia Devine: Yeah. This is for the snuck stuff.
Natalie Richards: Yeah yeah yeah.
Felicia Devine: So when you're doing the tonal adjustments, it's like you're doing the leg check, but you're you're essentially like. Everything is inverted. Whereas like the leg check for like um a cervical leg check, you're looking for the area that is stuck.
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: Yes.
Felicia Devine: Well, in the cervical leg check for tonal, you're looking for the area that's correct.
Natalie Richards: Yes.
Felicia Devine: So it's just the opposite finding. It's so, i I could nerd out about this for days.
Natalie Richards: Okay. Okay.
Felicia Devine: I've been talking about it for weeks. I'm so into it.
Natalie Richards: I love it
Felicia Devine: I'm so into it. And I'm like, am I tonal girly now?
Natalie Richards: No.
Felicia Devine: like Do I just like convert my whole practice to tonal?
Natalie Richards: Completely change. ah
Felicia Devine: I mean, my wrists would love me for it, but.
Natalie Richards: ah No kidding. No kidding.
Felicia Devine: But it's so cool.
Natalie Richards: I think it.
Felicia Devine: Natalie.
Natalie Richards: As with anything, there's a time and a place.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: where I'm sure there's people that that won't work for.
Felicia Devine: I don't know
Natalie Richards: Maybe. I don't know.
Felicia Devine: Well, I did it on somebody.
Natalie Richards: Oh, hello, Jean.
Felicia Devine: I did it on an adult that was not deserving.
Natalie Richards: Hello, twins.
Felicia Devine: Like, she gets normal osseous adjustments.
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: She was so tired, Natalie. She was like.
Natalie Richards: genie
Felicia Devine: She was looking at me and like rubbing her eyes and she was trying to focus on what I was saying, like directly following the adjustment.
Natalie Richards: Sure. Wow.
Felicia Devine: and i was like are you tired she's like i'm exhausted and she slept like an absolute rock that night
Natalie Richards: Oh my goodness. like it hey but I Why is he not coming out? So that's very cool about the tonal.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: I cannot wait to.
Felicia Devine: I know. I need to teach you it.
Natalie Richards: Cannot wait. to see.
Felicia Devine: Yes.
Natalie Richards: I'd love to try it there's a few people that I'd love to try that on.
Felicia Devine: Yes. Okay, you have one more update, right?
Natalie Richards: Um. i have I have a very large update, in fact. um Yeah.
Felicia Devine: Are you pregnant?
Natalie Richards: No.
Felicia Devine: Oh.
Natalie Richards: God, no. I think I would tell you that before the before the podcast.
Felicia Devine: I was like, big update.
Felicia Devine: oh You're not getting another dog, are you?
Natalie Richards: No, no, no, no. no um so
Felicia Devine: Wait, I have one more guess. I have one more guess.
Natalie Richards: Yeah. Yeah.
Felicia Devine: You're moving.
Natalie Richards: No. I wish.
Felicia Devine: Oh.
Natalie Richards: I wish.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: that It's on the horizon, actually.
Felicia Devine: Ooh.
Natalie Richards: The the talks of are happening.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: um
Felicia Devine: I know, but this house is so good. for Okay. Anyway, continue.
Natalie Richards: Yeah. Yeah.
Felicia Devine: The perks of it.
Natalie Richards: So, yeah. So a couple of weeks ago. maybe even a week and a half ago at this point. It's only been a week and a half. I got an email and there's this little like. preschool thing that's close to our house, which is.
Natalie Richards: absurd because nothing is close to our house.
Felicia Devine: You're like, it's within. How many minutes?
Natalie Richards: It's within 15 minutes.
Felicia Devine: Oh! <unk>s It's your neighbor.
Natalie Richards: it's literally across the street 15 minutes.
Felicia Devine: Wow.
Natalie Richards: um
Felicia Devine: Wow.
Natalie Richards: So it was like, oh, we have one more spot open for the four. four -year -old. Whatever. four -year -old group.
Felicia Devine: Okay.
Natalie Richards: And I was like, okay, i'll I'll play. Let's go see like what the hours are. It's probably not going to work. It's going to be like. stupid hours that aren't that are gonna be terrible.
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: I go in and look and it was like Mondays from. 8 to 11, or 8, 15 to 11. Wednesdays from 815 to noon. and Fridays from 8 15 to 11.
Natalie Richards: There you go. Huh! Those are all the times that I don't work.
Felicia Devine: wow
Natalie Richards: and Also, like it's 15 minutes away so I can go drop him off.
Felicia Devine: You can actually get something done.
Natalie Richards: I can go get something done at home if I wanted to. or i can Go. I game you.
Felicia Devine: Yes, you could go to Pilates.
Natalie Richards: go do something and Kyle can pick him up.
Felicia Devine: You could go do something you want to do.
Natalie Richards: Because it's only 15 minutes away.
Felicia Devine: Oh. yeah
Natalie Richards: And I was like, oh, this solves all of my logistical. problems with school, right?
Felicia Devine: Yes. Yes.
Natalie Richards: Because I was so just like not going to do anything because it just was going to be harder. It was going to be harder for me.
Felicia Devine: mm -hmm
Natalie Richards: to put him somewhere, like to have to go to Rockford and drive 45 minutes to drop him off. We'd have to leave the house at 7 a .m. Like this kid does not wake up like he's.
Felicia Devine: Right. You couldn't even come home if you wanted to.
Natalie Richards: No, no.
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: So then I'm stuck, right? So it was like, oh my gosh, this is perfect timing. So I literally signed him up a week and a half ago and he started last week.
Felicia Devine: Mm -hmm.
Natalie Richards: He's gone three days. i so I had like two days to get school supplies and get like everything set.
Felicia Devine: oh my god
Natalie Richards: It was so funny.
Felicia Devine: And it's cool. Cool.
Natalie Richards: I know. So it's like, I mean, it's a preschool.
Felicia Devine: Okay, so does he love it?
Natalie Richards: It's for like three hours. And he loves it though. Like the first day he shot out of bed and goes, we get to go to school today.
Felicia Devine: Void.
Natalie Richards: It was so cute.
Felicia Devine: oh
Natalie Richards: So I was like,
Felicia Devine: Have you been like getting stuff done?
Natalie Richards: um this past week was weird so ah nothing was normal about this past week so no not yet i don't i feel like it still is more stressful than not. as of now, but this week will be good.
Natalie Richards: This week will be.
Felicia Devine: you'll get your You'll get the hang of it.
Natalie Richards: will be very good. Yes. ah So it was he loved it. It was great.
Felicia Devine: Good.
Natalie Richards: The waking up. is hard, but... Again, because it's not that far away. We don't have to wake up as. Early as we would have to.
Felicia Devine: Right, right.
Natalie Richards: So it's okay.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: It's been fine.
Felicia Devine: Go ahead.
Natalie Richards: So he's been now getting to bed at like nine instead of 1030, which is good.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: It's good for me too.
Felicia Devine: Well, maybe it'll be good for him to get on a different schedule that like allows him to go to bed a little earlier and wake up a little earlier.
Natalie Richards: I think it will be Just a little. Yeah, just like a smidge.
Felicia Devine: Yeah. Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: a smi So it's been good.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: He's loved it. And I felt okay about it. And then they said, because they're not.
Felicia Devine: good
Natalie Richards: it's not like governed by the school district like it's a it's a park district situation
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: So they don't really have to follow. like the school district rules.
Felicia Devine: School schedules.
Natalie Richards: So that also means that.
Felicia Devine: Oh.
Natalie Richards: that he can stay another year if he wanted to and do the program all over again if i don't want to do kindergarten next year which i don't want to so it was like if he can do this yeah if he does this for like another year and he just likes it and wants to stay with his teachers and and wants to like be with kids for a few days a week.
Felicia Devine: Oh.
Felicia Devine: Traditional school. Yeah. And you do like your homeschooling thing. He could go there.
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: I'm good with that.
Felicia Devine: Cool.
Natalie Richards: And then the option would be that he would. if i wanted to send him to school which i'm still very much like on the fence about and we can do a whole Podcast done. and homeschooling.
Felicia Devine: Right, right
Natalie Richards: um Because I'm like very mentally prepared to do that.
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: but i don't I think he might like it.
Felicia Devine: Mhm.
Natalie Richards: to go. But the whole thing is just...
Felicia Devine: Well and it's kind of giving co -op.
Natalie Richards: It is a little bit. It's perfect. So the problem is like with kindergarten around us, there are no half day kindergartens.
Felicia Devine: Mm -hmm.
Felicia Devine: Mhm.
Natalie Richards: Like you, you go five days a week all day.
Felicia Devine: Oh there aren't?
Felicia Devine: All day till three.
Natalie Richards: If you want to do that.
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: And I'm like I don't know how I feel about that.
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: So. if I wanted to do that. I could wait until he's six.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: to stardom in kindergarten.
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: which I think would be but probably better for him anyway.
Felicia Devine: Right.
Natalie Richards: But then... He's like so then he would be 18 his whole senior year.
Felicia Devine: Good.
Natalie Richards: which is fine.
Felicia Devine: Boys need that.
Natalie Richards: I think that's wonderful. So I was like, either way.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: i would wait until he's six to put him in kindergarten no matter what
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: and Unless they really tell me like. No, he really needs to needs to be. Like. with older kids.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: which I don't know what they're going to say, but.
Felicia Devine: Yeah. Yeah.
Natalie Richards: so That's the plan.
Felicia Devine: Very cool.
Natalie Richards: So it's kind of cool.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: So I went from being like totally, no, I'm not sending him to school. No, no, no, no, no. To like, oh yeah, he started on Monday. Within a week.
Felicia Devine: all summer you're like we're not going to school and then you're like
Natalie Richards: I was. I was.
Felicia Devine: um
Natalie Richards: Everybody was asking, no, we're not doing that yet. Maybe second grade. So.
Felicia Devine: But it's not. It's not full send. Like you have flexibility.
Natalie Richards: it's not full send and it's not fixed like ah if if i decide then that it's not working then
Felicia Devine: Mm hmm.
Natalie Richards: I don't care i don't care.
Felicia Devine: I love it for you
Natalie Richards: So. We'll see. We'll see if it ends up being more of a hassle or not. Oh, and I only have to make a lunch one day. only on Wednesdays.
Felicia Devine: Oh good. Good.
Natalie Richards: That was my whole problem.
Felicia Devine: Later.
Natalie Richards: I don't want to do that.
Felicia Devine: I don't want to pack a lunch.
Natalie Richards: I don't want to.
Felicia Devine: Yeah, no I get that. Oh my gosh.
Natalie Richards: so That's it.
Felicia Devine: Good. Good.
Natalie Richards: That's it.
Felicia Devine: Love it.
Natalie Richards: I'm excited
Felicia Devine: Well, that was a great first. Podcast back from summer vacation.
Natalie Richards: It was. And I feel like.
Felicia Devine: I think we'll re -kick off a more routine schedule now.
Natalie Richards: Yeah I think we can now.
Felicia Devine: Yeah, I feel like. I had a lot. Of just like mental. fatigue.
Natalie Richards: You did. are you feeling better by the way we didn't get into that do you feel like you're Your energy is coming back a little. I don't know.
Felicia Devine: I just told Dan this last night.
Natalie Richards: I feel like you look different. I feel like your eyes your eyes look like they're a little more like...
Felicia Devine: oh Thanks.
Natalie Richards: Okay.
Felicia Devine: There. Yeah.
Natalie Richards: mm -hmm Just a little.
Felicia Devine: yeah um Yeah. You're not the only person to say that. Like everyone has been like, oh, you good? And I'm like, I don't think so.
Natalie Richards: I don't know else
Felicia Devine: Um...
Natalie Richards: It's hard to like look up and see like how if you actually have improved.
Felicia Devine: But.
Felicia Devine: I know. Well, like if I look at old photos, I'm just like mortified. But you you can only do your best.
Natalie Richards: Yeah. Yeah.
Felicia Devine: so um I was just telling Dan this last night. So I obviously still like wear my aura ring. And. Life has been so busy and so fun this summer. Like I truly have not been focusing so much on the nitty gritty.
Felicia Devine: I've just been like living day to day, which honestly taking a step back from like the heaviness of like preconception health and supplements and like.
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: of everything that you were doing. I know.
Felicia Devine: all the routines it's like i just needed a second to breathe and like
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Felicia Devine: I could have expedited my healing, certainly, but I just... didn't feel like it i just didn't feel like it and honestly i'm i'll be the first to admit like i was
Natalie Richards: No. Nope. Nope.
Felicia Devine: Like, just, I didn't want to. Get better.
Natalie Richards: Yep.
Felicia Devine: Like someday you're just like, I'm just going to get through it.
Natalie Richards: Yep.
Felicia Devine: And like, I don't know, it's a lot of effort to heal.
Natalie Richards: Yep. It is.
Felicia Devine: It's annoying.
Natalie Richards: I feel like I feel that way a lot.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: Where I'm just like, eh.
Felicia Devine: So I was like.
Natalie Richards: Today is not a day.
Felicia Devine: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: Not that day.
Felicia Devine: So like ah so and I would skip supplements someday. Like I just, I just was sick of trying.
Natalie Richards: Yeah. Yeah.
Felicia Devine: Which is fine.
Natalie Richards: Yep. I get it.
Felicia Devine: So I was looking at my aura ring last night when we got in bed and we had a very busy day yesterday and I had like a lot of things to like approve, like activities and things like that.
Natalie Richards: here
Felicia Devine: And I was like, Dan, I forgot to tell you this, but all summer, um, anytime I would go on a walk, my aura ring would log it as a hike. Because that's how hard my body.
Natalie Richards: Because that's what your body was doing.
Felicia Devine: Every walk I take, and it's not like we're walking. extremely fast.
Natalie Richards: No.
Felicia Devine: We're not going up extraordinary hills, but my heart rate is so high when we go on walks that my aura ring has, I've probably logged hundreds of hikes this summer and hiked to zero times.
Natalie Richards: No.
Natalie Richards: oh
Natalie Richards: Oh god.
Felicia Devine: So as far as how I'm feeling. i'm doing okay my blood pressure is consistently in the 90s which is insane to me
Natalie Richards: Yeah.
Natalie Richards: oh my gosh
Felicia Devine: I've never had 90s. Like my lowest um regular blood pressure usually was like 112.
Natalie Richards: o
Natalie Richards: Yeah. Yeah.
Felicia Devine: At the top. So and now I'm in the 90s and I'm like, that's just kind of annoying because I just like.
Natalie Richards: Yeah. oof What's your heart rate usually? What's your resting?
Felicia Devine: ah I think like. upper 50s, 60s. Yeah.
Natalie Richards: That's probably... I don't know what yours. usually would have been, but...
