Introduction and Ideal Workday

00:00:06
Speaker
Hey everyone, it's Salman Qureshi.
00:00:07
Speaker
You're listening to the It's My Friend Podcast.
00:00:10
Speaker
What's up?
00:00:11
Speaker
How's it going?
00:00:12
Speaker
Welcome back.
00:00:12
Speaker
And I hope you're having a wonderful, wonderful morning, a wonderful day, a wonderful evening, whatever time of day it is for you.
00:00:21
Speaker
And it's been a great day where you have been assigned to work next to the beach somewhere.
00:00:28
Speaker
Your boss called you up and said, hey,
00:00:31
Speaker
Listen, I need you to take a day off today and just head to the beach and just chill out in some next to like a fancy area of the beach where they serve you coffee, drinks, everything by...
00:00:48
Speaker
by your, what do you call it, the lounge, and it's the perfect day.

Neighbor's Dog Dilemma

00:00:54
Speaker
The sun isn't too heavy on you, and you're just chilling out, and you're being paid to do it.
00:01:03
Speaker
Oh, wow, yeah, isn't that a great day to start off, huh?
00:01:06
Speaker
Huh?
00:01:07
Speaker
No?
00:01:08
Speaker
Okay, all right, that's not the kind of day you're having.
00:01:10
Speaker
I hope those are the kind of days you have, man.
00:01:14
Speaker
It's been great since I last got on the episode with you guys, but this is, man, I gotta ask you guys, right?
00:01:26
Speaker
I have this problem with one of my neighbors, and they have this dog, and I'm a dog lover, and they keep putting him in the balcony.
00:01:39
Speaker
It's an apartment building, they keep putting him in the balcony,
00:01:43
Speaker
at like odd hours, like 4 or 5 a.m.
00:01:47
Speaker
And poor dogs like barking like crazy.
00:01:52
Speaker
And I complained to the security after like a few days of it because I was like, all right, there were two.
00:01:57
Speaker
Obviously, there's a selfish interest because I could hear the dog barking and woke me up.
00:02:04
Speaker
There's a selfish side.
00:02:05
Speaker
I'm going to be honest.
00:02:06
Speaker
I'm not all altruistic as much as you guys think I am.
00:02:11
Speaker
Does anyone think I am?
00:02:12
Speaker
I don't know.
00:02:14
Speaker
But there is there was the other side of it, which I was worried about, which was that was this poor dog doing in the balcony at those odd hours.
00:02:23
Speaker
Like, are they just dumping him?
00:02:25
Speaker
It's it's hot here sometimes, you know?
00:02:29
Speaker
I don't think our balcony is like the super safest balcony in the world compared to, you know, all kinds of buildings.
00:02:37
Speaker
And so I was just like out of interest of the dog and the welfare of the dog.
00:02:43
Speaker
Also, the fact that I want to punch that guy or the person, whoever is that particular neighbor lives a floor above my apartment.
00:02:54
Speaker
I also wonder what are the rules here because I do worry about like report.
00:02:59
Speaker
I told the security because I was like, just have a chat with him, with the person.
00:03:03
Speaker
I was happy to do it myself for obvious reasons.
00:03:06
Speaker
The security said we'll handle it.
00:03:08
Speaker
You don't need to know which apartment building this is.
00:03:11
Speaker
And not like I was going to, you know, go up and punch him or something.
00:03:15
Speaker
It's just things in my head, not things I actually do, mainly because I'm too small to pick fights with potentially bigger people.
00:03:25
Speaker
Most people are bigger than me.
00:03:27
Speaker
So, you know, that has helped me to live a non-confrontational life for most of my life.
00:03:32
Speaker
Yeah, it's a good reason to do it.
00:03:34
Speaker
And so I was, you know, the security did kind of handle it.
00:03:37
Speaker
It's been a bit better.
00:03:39
Speaker
I haven't heard the dog out in odd hours now, which is a good sign, right?
00:03:44
Speaker
But I do worry about reporting these things.
00:03:48
Speaker
Like if it kept happening, let's say this person was just the worst person in the world.
00:03:52
Speaker
It's just, you know, one of those a-holes and refused to, it kept doing that.
00:03:59
Speaker
So your next step here, I suppose,
00:04:01
Speaker
would be apart from the fact that I can't go and speak to the person because I'd have to step out at 4 a.m., look at the balconies to figure out which apartments he's actually in and then walk over, right?
00:04:15
Speaker
It's a bit of hassle for me.
00:04:17
Speaker
The next step would probably be me going over to calling the police over.
00:04:23
Speaker
And I don't ever want to do something like that because that means I'm reporting this person.
00:04:29
Speaker
I'm getting police involved.
00:04:30
Speaker
That's the last thing you want to do, right?
00:04:33
Speaker
You don't want to be the guy in the apartment building going, I'm going to call someone over and I'm going to just make them bring police into this and make this a big deal.
00:04:42
Speaker
And the other reason I worry is that sometimes I feel like in places like this, police might take very drastic action or the animal welfare police.
00:04:53
Speaker
Is that a thing out here?
00:04:56
Speaker
There is a I know there are laws for animal welfare, but who looks after is there a separate.
00:05:01
Speaker
kind of bunch of people sitting around going, who's hurting animals?
00:05:04
Speaker
We're going to go bust their knees up.
00:05:06
Speaker
Let's go.
00:05:06
Speaker
Whoa.
00:05:07
Speaker
They all get into the little car.
00:05:09
Speaker
I don't know why it's little, but they all get into it and it's got
00:05:13
Speaker
And it's got one of those, you know, it's got those like doggy bar.
00:05:22
Speaker
What do you call them?
00:05:23
Speaker
Dog mouth kind of thing right in front.
00:05:26
Speaker
And a tail.
00:05:28
Speaker
No, tail would be dangerous while you're driving.
00:05:29
Speaker
Just a dog thing.
00:05:30
Speaker
Okay.
00:05:32
Speaker
And to go around looking for people who hurt animals.
00:05:36
Speaker
That would be cool.

Urban Development Reflections

00:05:37
Speaker
But I guess it's just the police here, isn't it?
00:05:39
Speaker
And they'll show up and they might take the dog away from the owner.
00:05:42
Speaker
And maybe I've got it wrong.
00:05:43
Speaker
Maybe I'm looking at from the prism of my issue of this dog just, you know, ruining my sleep.
00:05:51
Speaker
So I think I don't want to do that.
00:05:55
Speaker
And I think it's the last I've had people who've had the police called on them for similar reasons.
00:06:03
Speaker
And I thought it was a low blow move.
00:06:07
Speaker
And you know, the first step would be to just talk to your building security and stuff and just figure it out.
00:06:13
Speaker
Anyway, I'm just trying to figure this out on my podcast for some reason.
00:06:16
Speaker
Like if you're if you're a dog owner or you've had a similar problem, I want to hear what you did in those moments.
00:06:24
Speaker
And I really worry about calling the police because they might take the dog away.
00:06:28
Speaker
And what if that dog's in love with their owner?
00:06:30
Speaker
And that really is the worst thing they do.
00:06:32
Speaker
And it really doesn't affect the dog.
00:06:34
Speaker
Maybe he's barking out of happiness.
00:06:36
Speaker
Right?
00:06:37
Speaker
He's just like, oh my god, I'm out again.
00:06:40
Speaker
And look, look, I can see things outside.
00:06:42
Speaker
And it's so fun.
00:06:43
Speaker
And it's loud.
00:06:44
Speaker
And it's cool.
00:06:46
Speaker
Right?
00:06:46
Speaker
Like, it's in that zone.
00:06:48
Speaker
And I'm like, no, it's angry.
00:06:50
Speaker
And it's upset.
00:06:50
Speaker
And it's about to kill itself.
00:06:52
Speaker
So, we could be just completely wrong here.
00:06:55
Speaker
Alright?
00:06:58
Speaker
I've got bigger issues.
00:06:59
Speaker
We all have bigger issues to deal with than my issue with this dog.
00:07:03
Speaker
Alright?
00:07:03
Speaker
And how to handle it.
00:07:04
Speaker
Alright?
00:07:06
Speaker
I was reading up on Jeddah and something struck me.
00:07:10
Speaker
Actually, I've heard this from a lot of friends who still live there or have visited recently.
00:07:16
Speaker
And they said, they keep saying the same thing.
00:07:18
Speaker
You can't recognize Jeddah.
00:07:20
Speaker
They've got rid of all the old stuff.
00:07:22
Speaker
They've broken down all the buildings and stuff.
00:07:25
Speaker
And...
00:07:26
Speaker
It makes me a little bit sad.
00:07:28
Speaker
You know, living in Dubai, I've seen it happen quite a bit here as well.
00:07:32
Speaker
And I get progress is rebuilding sometimes or a lot of times.
00:07:38
Speaker
And, you know, it might be better in the long term because those areas, the buildings might have just gotten way too old.
00:07:45
Speaker
It's dangerous.
00:07:46
Speaker
I don't know.
00:07:46
Speaker
Maybe they've got better urban planning now.
00:07:48
Speaker
Right.
00:07:49
Speaker
They're probably improving that.
00:07:52
Speaker
And it's sad because in some ways there's no history preserved.
00:07:57
Speaker
But then I'm not a traditional conservative kind of guy who thinks we need to preserve too much.
00:08:04
Speaker
I don't know.
00:08:05
Speaker
What are you learning by keeping some old buildings up there?
00:08:11
Speaker
I think...
00:08:12
Speaker
Look, this is how it goes down with me, right?
00:08:15
Speaker
Like over here, when I moved 20 years ago, there was this, there's a hard rock cafe near to the Burj Al Arab.
00:08:25
Speaker
At that time, it was on the outskirts of the city, all right?
00:08:29
Speaker
And it was famous because this building had this huge guitar.
00:08:33
Speaker
When I say huge, I mean like
00:08:35
Speaker
I don't know, was it 10 stories big or something?
00:08:38
Speaker
And it was huge and it was like a landmark.
00:08:43
Speaker
And eventually they took it down because they wanted to construct that area again, rebuild, whatever, blah, blah, blah.
00:08:51
Speaker
And that was a real like, oh no, but I've known this guitar, it's such a cool landmark, and it's gone.
00:08:59
Speaker
There's no talk around it.
00:09:01
Speaker
There was no like, should we preserve this instead?
00:09:05
Speaker
Part of me gets it because they built something more around it.
00:09:09
Speaker
It's...
00:09:10
Speaker
But I missed out on that.
00:09:12
Speaker
Right.
00:09:13
Speaker
And then someone said, well, it's a commercial building.
00:09:16
Speaker
Right.
00:09:17
Speaker
It wasn't like a museum or a very important historical piece, according to them.
00:09:24
Speaker
And so bringing it down shouldn't matter.
00:09:27
Speaker
And I get that.
00:09:29
Speaker
I get that too.
00:09:29
Speaker
So I see both sides.
00:09:31
Speaker
It's still a little sad to lose something, right?
00:09:33
Speaker
Maybe it's just that.
00:09:35
Speaker
And maybe with the Jeddah story, it's a bit painful for me because I kind of think about it and I go, well, it just means when I go back, if I ever get to visit, I won't really have much to go back to, you know?
00:09:51
Speaker
Like, hey, look, we used to play cricket there or football there.
00:09:56
Speaker
No, that's just a mall now.
00:10:01
Speaker
And every place changes, I suppose.
00:10:03
Speaker
But I think the problem in the Middle East is the things around, the buildings around, the construction around.
00:10:10
Speaker
There's such new countries that it changes so much faster.
00:10:14
Speaker
It's like your friendship circle and your buildings, they just keep changing constantly, right?
00:10:19
Speaker
Like in five years, you're practically living in a new city with new people, right?
00:10:24
Speaker
That's what this place sometimes feels like.
00:10:28
Speaker
And it's tough, man.
00:10:29
Speaker
When you're getting older, you want to cling on to something, right?
00:10:33
Speaker
And like I said before, I don't want to end up like an old guy who's just cranky and stuff and wants to listen to music from 30 years ago.
00:10:40
Speaker
Oh, by the way, my mind just got blown.
00:10:43
Speaker
This is a complete segue into nothing.
00:10:46
Speaker
But I just had to put this out there.
00:10:48
Speaker
I just realized...
00:10:49
Speaker
It's the 25th anniversary of me giving my IGCSE exams.
00:10:55
Speaker
That's crazy, right?
00:10:57
Speaker
That is crazy.
00:10:59
Speaker
25 years ago, I was a young kid giving my IGCSE exams and thinking this is the most important thing I'll ever do in my life.
00:11:09
Speaker
When I look back, it may have...
00:11:13
Speaker
When I look back, it may have just been the most important thing I might have done.
00:11:17
Speaker
All right.
00:11:18
Speaker
And I did them in Jeddah.
00:11:19
Speaker
Right.
00:11:20
Speaker
I think even the buildings or the mall where I did those exams might not exist anymore.
00:11:26
Speaker
That just it just you know what it is.
00:11:28
Speaker
It's a reminder to you that life in the world is moving on and you're the ones that's going to disappear in a bit.
00:11:36
Speaker
I'm past my half.
00:11:39
Speaker
Oh, my God.
00:11:39
Speaker
This is depressing, isn't it?
00:11:41
Speaker
Why are you guys listening to this?
00:11:42
Speaker
Why am I talking about this?
00:11:44
Speaker
My point was Jeddah is undergoing changes.
00:11:46
Speaker
It's kind of exciting, too.
00:11:47
Speaker
I want to see what develops.
00:11:49
Speaker
I've heard there's a little bit of problem with like they're really just going at it with like big bulldozers and people who live there have just kind of got to scrammed.
00:11:58
Speaker
as it's coming down.
00:11:59
Speaker
So that's kind of sad.
00:12:00
Speaker
I wish people would just remember at the end, we're human beings, man.
00:12:05
Speaker
So take care of that.
00:12:06
Speaker
But it's happening, and Saudi's changing, and they have concerts, and the Grand Prix, and film festivals happening in Jeddah.
00:12:16
Speaker
So, you know, I think it's a great city.
00:12:19
Speaker
It always has been.
00:12:20
Speaker
It's been around for so many years.
00:12:23
Speaker
It is time to visit, isn't it?
00:12:24
Speaker
I'm looking forward to it because
00:12:27
Speaker
I did finally figure out the visa thing.
00:12:29
Speaker
I can apply for on arrival or sorry.
00:12:33
Speaker
Yeah, not on arrival.

Self-Care and Cleanliness Advice

00:12:34
Speaker
It's a it's pretty you just online eVisa.
00:12:38
Speaker
It's straight and easy.
00:12:39
Speaker
And I think you get it for a year.
00:12:41
Speaker
I have to check up the options completely.
00:12:43
Speaker
But that's great.
00:12:44
Speaker
You know, one of the things I've always just been lazy about is just applying for a visa and going through that process.
00:12:49
Speaker
I just like it's not worth it.
00:12:51
Speaker
But now it is and it's easy.
00:12:53
Speaker
So I'm going to try that out.
00:12:55
Speaker
And let's see, you know, like I said, a few times I've been thinking about going to Saudi to do some, take some comedy over and perform there and see how that goes down.
00:13:07
Speaker
And, you know, putting aside my insecurities about growing old and latching on to old stuff, I think it's also exciting how these new countries are building and being progressive.
00:13:22
Speaker
And I don't mean that just by...
00:13:25
Speaker
They're not progressive just because they're building high towers.
00:13:27
Speaker
They're progressive in the idea of shaping up their cities better, improving the stuff, and opening up, which is in contrast to some of the other countries in this region or the world where women are still fighting to get to decide what to wear.
00:13:46
Speaker
And that is a funny one for me, right?
00:13:49
Speaker
Men just want to interfere.
00:13:50
Speaker
And I put aside all your beliefs and values.
00:13:54
Speaker
It just comes down to like let them decide what they want to wear.
00:14:00
Speaker
And I may have my...
00:14:04
Speaker
You may have yours about what people should wear and what not because we're just so godlike like that.
00:14:13
Speaker
But man, just put your ego aside.
00:14:18
Speaker
Let them decide what they want to do.
00:14:20
Speaker
It's them undergoing it, have to deal with it.
00:14:24
Speaker
It's their issue.
00:14:25
Speaker
Don't you have enough issues of your own?
00:14:27
Speaker
Don't you have manly stuff you got to deal with, right?
00:14:31
Speaker
Which brings me to a little segment I call your top self-care tip of the day.
00:14:37
Speaker
Or your top self-care tip of the episode.
00:14:46
Speaker
Yeah, that sounds more like it.
00:14:48
Speaker
Let's try that again.
00:14:49
Speaker
Your top self-care tip of the episode.
00:14:55
Speaker
Cool, so your top self-care is to the men out there since I brought that stuff up.
00:15:02
Speaker
Dudes, you gotta change your bed sheets, all right?
00:15:07
Speaker
If not every few days, at least once a week.
00:15:10
Speaker
I see guys, young people who move out and they just don't know that that's a thing.
00:15:16
Speaker
It just baffles me.
00:15:17
Speaker
Like, why would you wanna sleep in those same sheets for time and time again?
00:15:22
Speaker
Like, what is wrong with you?
00:15:24
Speaker
If you think this is manly, then it's really stupid.
00:15:27
Speaker
Because what you're actually doing is just being gross, right?
00:15:32
Speaker
And just causing diseases to spread.
00:15:35
Speaker
That's why COVID happened.
00:15:37
Speaker
And that's why a lot of new diseases will come out into this world because you don't change your sheets.
00:15:42
Speaker
All right, people, you got to change it every so often so you're not sleeping in filth, okay?
00:15:48
Speaker
If you think it's a manly thing to do to not change it, get
00:15:52
Speaker
Guess wrong.
00:15:52
Speaker
You know what real men do in the army?
00:15:55
Speaker
Soldiers, they get up every morning and they change their bedsheet.
00:15:59
Speaker
They make their bed, they clean up, and then they start their day.
00:16:03
Speaker
Yeah?
00:16:03
Speaker
So if you think you're more manly than a soldier, then you're stupid.

Career Journey and Milestones

00:16:10
Speaker
Just wanted to end it there, right?
00:16:12
Speaker
That's my nice top self-care tip of the episode.
00:16:15
Speaker
I hope it makes the world a better place.
00:16:17
Speaker
Trust me, people like you better.
00:16:19
Speaker
All right.
00:16:22
Speaker
I got to, I do, this is a very like one of those episodes where I'm just like looking back at a lot of things in my life and just having a little apprehension about the future and stuff.
00:16:35
Speaker
But I couldn't help but think, there have been some really great things for me.
00:16:41
Speaker
I think one of the things I really thought that, you got to find markers in your life.
00:16:47
Speaker
There are times when you struggle and you think,
00:16:50
Speaker
Man, am I stuck in a rut?
00:16:51
Speaker
What's happening with my life?
00:16:52
Speaker
When I die, will people even remember me, my legacy and whatnot?
00:16:56
Speaker
And you start going down this spiral and this path.
00:16:59
Speaker
And I think sometimes it's good to just pause and go, hey, what has actually happened?
00:17:04
Speaker
So jokes aside, right?

Speaker
One of the cool things that I feel like happened in my life was when I look back at my career, all the kind of different things I've done.
00:17:14
Speaker
So recently, I was trying to like...
00:17:17
Speaker
revamp my profile and just give it a new, fresh look at it.
00:17:23
Speaker
And I was really impressed with some of the stuff I've done.
00:17:29
Speaker
I know, I know it sounds self-conceited, but I was really proud of it.
00:17:32
Speaker
I was like, hey man, I've actually done some good stuff here because I looked at the brands I've worked with and how far I've come, the kind of gigs I've got to do, some really good big breaks and a lot of the stuff
00:17:47
Speaker
that if someone had told me at the beginning when I started doing comedy that I would get to do, I would not have believed it.
00:17:54
Speaker
I would have been, it's like, it's too far out there.
00:17:56
Speaker
It's crazy that I would be in that position.
00:17:59
Speaker
So that part is really cool.
00:18:01
Speaker
I think one of the things that stuck out for me recently was this Toyota thing, right?
00:18:06
Speaker
So right when I started, I started taking acting gigs and doing whatever I could to make a bit of money from that.
00:18:15
Speaker
being an artist instead of my regular nine to five.
00:18:18
Speaker
And one of the first gigs I did, right, it was for Toyota and this team flew in from Japan.
00:18:26
Speaker
They wanted to record an internal training video, all right?
00:18:30
Speaker
So I was one of the actors on that video.
00:18:32
Speaker
There are two white American dudes, like super white, completely stereotype Americans live in Japan kind of guys, actors, though, and really nice guys.
00:18:41
Speaker
I think I'm still in touch with one of them, at least on Facebook.
00:18:45
Speaker
And and then they had me from locally sourced and a couple of Japanese actors.
00:18:52
Speaker
The director was Japanese and he didn't speak English.
00:18:57
Speaker
And that was a funny bit that I had going on with the directing because we had a translator and she would translate everything that this guy would tell me.
00:19:07
Speaker
So sometimes it'd be scary because he'd come in and I think he's angry.
00:19:10
Speaker
He'd just be like, and I'd be like, oh, my God, I'm not filming this right.
00:19:17
Speaker
I was new.
00:19:17
Speaker
I was very apprehensive about the stuff going on.
00:19:20
Speaker
And so, you know, it was nice to hear the translators go, no, he's saying you're doing a good job.
00:19:27
Speaker
Great.
00:19:28
Speaker
You just keep it up.
00:19:29
Speaker
That was a good shot.
00:19:30
Speaker
And I'm like, all right.
00:19:31
Speaker
OK, man.
00:19:32
Speaker
I just had a lot of mixed emotions when I was shooting for that.
00:19:36
Speaker
But the key thing was.
00:19:37
Speaker
I had a small role in it and it was mostly like these factory worker like little tidbits that I did.
00:19:43
Speaker
And somewhere in Japan, this training video must be watched by loads of people or something.
00:19:49
Speaker
Right.
00:19:49
Speaker
I don't know.
00:19:50
Speaker
So it's kind of funny to me that, yeah, I I'm some factory guy there.
00:19:57
Speaker
And it wasn't like a big deal to me, but sometimes when you face stereotypes here about where you're from and everything, I realized very quickly those are the kind of roles I get offered all the time.
00:20:09
Speaker
A security guard, this and that.
00:20:12
Speaker
And I'm like, hey, man, we do more than just that.
00:20:16
Speaker
I can play other stuff.
00:20:18
Speaker
Anyway, that kind of was always like a sticking point to me until years later, as I got well into my acting and comedy career, Toyota came back and hired me to do some brand work, like an influencer hire.
00:20:34
Speaker
And I was hired as the face of it.
00:20:37
Speaker
And I got to do this big project where I was paying a lot of money.
00:20:40
Speaker
I got to admit, yeah, it was some real good money I made from that gig.
00:20:45
Speaker
And it was really nice to see how far I had come from this little role for the same brand to the brand approaching me directly to represent them online in a million videos.
00:20:59
Speaker
And they promoted it.
00:21:00
Speaker
And it was quite big.
00:21:01
Speaker
It was part of this car show thing that happens annually here.

Creative Risks in Stand-Up Performance

00:21:06
Speaker
And it's just a little reminder to everybody, I guess, as well, you know,
00:21:12
Speaker
We forget how far we've come sometimes and how much has happened.
00:21:18
Speaker
And sometimes it's nice to look back at it and go, hey, you know, those are some great points.
00:21:23
Speaker
Those are some good things I experienced.
00:21:25
Speaker
And I guess if I tie this back up to the whole Jetta thing, oh, man, I got to eat humble pie.
00:21:33
Speaker
I know, like you said earlier, the change is different.
00:21:37
Speaker
are happening and sometimes you sit there and go did we have to change everything but the truth is overall it's probably really good and something to look forward to and you know the future generations probably like it how is this tied up with me doing better in my career
00:21:54
Speaker
I'm just actually thinking out loud now.
00:21:56
Speaker
I think I think the point is, you know, that the real point is that you got to keep moving ahead and progressing and keep reminding yourself how well you've done.
00:22:09
Speaker
Right.
00:22:09
Speaker
And not look back at all the changes as a bad thing.
00:22:12
Speaker
Wow.
00:22:13
Speaker
You know, for a second there, I'm not going to lie to you guys.
00:22:16
Speaker
I really thought I've messed this up.
00:22:18
Speaker
I don't know how to tie this thing up.
00:22:19
Speaker
I don't know what.
00:22:20
Speaker
Am I just waffling today?
00:22:21
Speaker
Is my brain fried?
00:22:22
Speaker
And then I tied it.
00:22:23
Speaker
Yes, that was the point I was trying to make.
00:22:25
Speaker
So I'm having another great moment with myself.
00:22:28
Speaker
about how cool I am.
00:22:30
Speaker
All right.
00:22:30
Speaker
I'm going to round off this episode, guys.
00:22:34
Speaker
A little shout out to Unib Graham.
00:22:38
Speaker
He's a friend as well, but he's also a real fan online.
00:22:43
Speaker
He really shares all my stuff.
00:22:44
Speaker
So good shout out to you, man, for listening and always giving it a share.
00:22:49
Speaker
Appreciate it very much.
00:22:51
Speaker
It goes a long way.
00:22:52
Speaker
And I just did a...
00:22:53
Speaker
You know, I'm really proud also, because I just did a stand-up.
00:22:55
Speaker
This is a whole rebuilding thing.
00:22:57
Speaker
Oh my God, now I see it.
00:22:58
Speaker
Now that I'm talking it out, it's very clear.
00:23:00
Speaker
I just went out and did 10 minutes of just complete new material.
00:23:06
Speaker
All right, just completely new material that I've been writing for a while.
00:23:10
Speaker
And I haven't done that in ages, even though I've been talking about putting a new special out.
00:23:14
Speaker
It was scary because, you know, when you have great jokes you can rely on and you get laughs from people, you start like it becomes a crutch for you.
00:23:23
Speaker
And I had to put that aside and go, I'm going to be risky.
00:23:27
Speaker
I'm just going to do this and see what goes down, just like any comic should over and over again.
00:23:32
Speaker
Write, perform, write, perform, write, perform.
00:23:36
Speaker
But this time, it just felt great to really, really just do it, jump back right into it.
00:23:40
Speaker
So I haven't done that in ages.
00:23:42
Speaker
And I guess that rebuilding thing felt good, man.
00:23:44
Speaker
And it's uncomfortable, but it was good.
00:23:47
Speaker
Oh, my God.
00:23:48
Speaker
I'm just like really just having a moment here, guys.
00:23:52
Speaker
All right.
00:23:53
Speaker
I've got to get back to work.
00:23:55
Speaker
I got a lot of things to do.
00:23:56
Speaker
I'm really, really busy trying to put out these episodes whenever I can.
00:23:59
Speaker
I hope you enjoyed it.
00:24:00
Speaker
If you did, share it, leave a comment, leave a review.
00:24:03
Speaker
It goes a long way to help.
00:24:05
Speaker
Spread the word for the show.
00:24:07
Speaker
You guys take care.
00:24:08
Speaker
Have a great week ahead.
00:24:10
Speaker
And goodbye.
00:24:11
Speaker
Or as a dog would say, woof.
