Introduction and Cultural Confusion

00:00:00
Speaker
I grew up confused about my culture and identity and felt out of place most of the time until I found comedy, which forced me to be honest with myself and I realized mostly I'm just an expat brat.
00:00:13
Speaker
Welcome to my show.
00:00:14
Speaker
I'm Salman Qureshi.
00:00:15
Speaker
Hey everyone, what's up?
00:00:18
Speaker
Welcome back to another beautiful episode of Expat Brad Podcast.

The Audio-Only Decision

00:00:22
Speaker
Audio only, where you get to enjoy just listening to something instead of having to watch it and play a video and use up precious data.
00:00:32
Speaker
Although data is cheap these days.
00:00:35
Speaker
this is a much lesser data sensory overload kind of thing, right?
00:00:41
Speaker
Because sometimes we need it.
00:00:43
Speaker
We need to just listen to good audio.
00:00:45
Speaker
And that is the excuse I'm going to stick to about not going on to a video platform for now because everybody keeps asking about it.
00:00:55
Speaker
And I got to have a good excuse.
00:00:57
Speaker
And I think what I said was a good excuse.

P. Diddy Scandal Overview

00:01:00
Speaker
And besides, there are more important things in life going on, like this P. Diddy stuff.
00:01:05
Speaker
Did you see it coming?
00:01:06
Speaker
Of course, we all saw it coming.
00:01:08
Speaker
I think at this point, if a celebrity doesn't have something going on, that's what's more shocking, right?
00:01:16
Speaker
It's horrible.
00:01:17
Speaker
If you haven't caught on to it yet because you're not hip,
00:01:21
Speaker
and you're like me and you wouldn't have known about this except you accidentally opened some social media platform and went on to the right video because you tend to follow and stay connected with your nephews and nieces through these apps and because they're, what do you call it, with the social media algorithm pushed this onto you by association.
00:01:44
Speaker
If you're like me, well then what happened?
00:01:48
Speaker
is that the dude has been accused of, I don't even know how to describe it.
00:01:55
Speaker
Like, what's the actual crime?
00:01:57
Speaker
It's like forceful.
00:01:59
Speaker
What is it?
00:02:00
Speaker
Like forceful.
00:02:01
Speaker
Yeah.
00:02:04
Speaker
What's he charged with?
00:02:05
Speaker
Like, let me let me spell that out for you.
00:02:07
Speaker
OK, yeah, here he's he faces several charges, including sex trafficking, drug possession and firearms offenses, half of which in America is like, isn't that just legal at this point?
00:02:21
Speaker
And when I say half of it, I will do three things I mentioned, two thirds of it or maybe all.
00:02:27
Speaker
Which two-thirds, I'm not sure exactly when I read these things again and again.
00:02:31
Speaker
So that's basically it, man.
00:02:33
Speaker
He's been busted.
00:02:34
Speaker
Some of the stories coming out are crazy.
00:02:37
Speaker
They're really, you know, it makes you kind of feel a little sick in the stomach that this stuff was going on.
00:02:46
Speaker
And at the same time, I just kind of go, like, again, you know, this much is like standard now with celebrities

Celebrity Power and Fame

00:02:55
Speaker
and stuff.
00:02:55
Speaker
Like at this point,
00:02:57
Speaker
If the goodest of the goodest celebs, and we all know I'm talking about Keanu Reeves, if it came out that he's running some dungeon under his basement where he takes kids from impoverished countries and forces them to act and do reenactments of The Matrix,
00:03:21
Speaker
then I wouldn't be surprised.
00:03:23
Speaker
I'm not going to lie.
00:03:24
Speaker
I don't think I'd be surprised anymore.
00:03:25
Speaker
I think it's so crazy.
00:03:28
Speaker
And it's because the more these things come into light, you just kind of look and you go, this is history.
00:03:35
Speaker
This is not about a celebrity.
00:03:37
Speaker
This is basically when too much money and power is concentrated in too few individuals, human beings in general.
00:03:45
Speaker
We're not made for this stuff.
00:03:46
Speaker
And that's why I think God has kept me away from superstardom.
00:03:55
Speaker
He's kept me away because he wants me to remain a good person, which is still up for debate anyway.
00:04:04
Speaker
But maybe I'd be a far worse person if I suddenly obtained power and riches.
00:04:12
Speaker
And let's not lie.
00:04:13
Speaker
It does go to one's head.
00:04:16
Speaker
I'm not justifying these actions, but these, you know, it's just like I'll tell you a story, right?
00:04:22
Speaker
It was the closest I've seen experience Beatlemania myself, right?
00:04:27
Speaker
What happened was I was performing.
00:04:31
Speaker
This is about 10 years ago or something.
00:04:32
Speaker
I was performing with a lineup that included the headliner.
00:04:36
Speaker
This dude was like big in some circles and with a particular target market.
00:04:41
Speaker
Yeah.
00:04:42
Speaker
Target audience.
00:04:44
Speaker
And and we went to this university to perform and I was on the lineup and we do the show.
00:04:49
Speaker
I didn't know how big he was, how crazy they were about him and how crazy in general people can be about what they perceive as someone as being famous.
00:04:57
Speaker
And as soon as our sets and as the show ended, he he closed off.
00:05:01
Speaker
We had about 500 people in that room who were which filled up the theater we were in.
00:05:07
Speaker
maybe there were a bit more 500 600 something like that uh they they the crowd chased us back to the green room and when i say the green room it was like this elaborate ballroom area that was our green room at that point and the security initially tried to close off the audience and they closed the ballroom door uh not letting these people in but there were so many that eventually you know and they were harmless students i suppose university students so they opened the door
00:05:33
Speaker
Which has something about the security.
00:05:35
Speaker
Now that I look back at it and they let the mob in and they mobbed us.
00:05:40
Speaker
They mobbed us for pictures and and, you know, just wanted to shake hands and blah, blah, blah.
00:05:47
Speaker
And they didn't I didn't know me.
00:05:49
Speaker
They just seen me perform for 15, 20 minutes.
00:05:51
Speaker
But I think by association, because of that other big comic.
00:05:57
Speaker
We were all famous.
00:05:59
Speaker
And I had... You know, the whole chase and then the whole mobbing and just taking so much time to just get out.
00:06:07
Speaker
Right up to our cars.
00:06:09
Speaker
Right up to our cars in the parking lot.
00:06:10
Speaker
We had people chasing us for one more picture and stuff.
00:06:13
Speaker
And that was crazy.
00:06:14
Speaker
My...
00:06:15
Speaker
I think if I had stayed like that, if I had that experience four or five times in a row, I would have been spoiled as hell.
00:06:23
Speaker
Luckily for me, as soon as I drove out of that parking lot, no one, two, three people like cut me off on the road.
00:06:29
Speaker
And I was like, yep, I'm just normal Sal again.
00:06:32
Speaker
That's crazy.
00:06:35
Speaker
I've also experienced these kind of things when my dad was alive.
00:06:38
Speaker
I went with him on some of his meetings and they were like these huge government things.
00:06:44
Speaker
And he took me along for some internship and blah, blah.
00:06:48
Speaker
Yeah, yeah.
00:06:49
Speaker
It's the only time my dad did anything that was that that would be perceived as kind of like was not not based on merit.
00:06:58
Speaker
He was such a big believer in merit.
00:07:00
Speaker
I was shocked when he took me along.
00:07:01
Speaker
And I found out later was more his boss.
00:07:04
Speaker
who was encouraging him to take me rather than my dad forcing it down anyone's throat.
00:07:09
Speaker
So respect to the man.
00:07:10
Speaker
But I got lucky and I got to go on a couple of trips.
00:07:13
Speaker
And those trips, you know, they get like police entourage all the way everywhere they go.
00:07:20
Speaker
The hotel, everything is like, you know, super taken care of.
00:07:24
Speaker
And having experienced these things, I just go, I just, honestly, I can tell you,
00:07:29
Speaker
It spoils you.
00:07:30
Speaker
You hate... I always... My feet are on the ground because I always come back and my friends and family treat me like crap again.
00:07:36
Speaker
And I don't have these protocols for me.
00:07:42
Speaker
So it returns to normal pretty quickly.
00:07:45
Speaker
But I think a sustained...
00:07:47
Speaker
environment of that.
00:07:49
Speaker
I'm not surprised,

Silence and Misconduct in Celebrity Culture

00:07:50
Speaker
man.
00:07:50
Speaker
These people go crazy.
00:07:51
Speaker
Like this guy, P. Diddy, one of the things he was doing was, what was it called?
00:07:55
Speaker
Like a feud off or I got to tell you this word because it was really bizarre.
00:08:02
Speaker
He did these things where he got people doing acts with each other for hours sometimes and they needed IV afterward.
00:08:10
Speaker
Freak offs.
00:08:11
Speaker
That's it.
00:08:12
Speaker
Freak offs.
00:08:13
Speaker
He got them to do freak offs.
00:08:15
Speaker
And I don't think I even need to explain what that term effectively means.
00:08:22
Speaker
Eventually, someone complained after like 40 years or something, 20 years.
00:08:26
Speaker
I don't know how long this stuff has been going on.
00:08:27
Speaker
He's been famous since what, 95, 98?
00:08:29
Speaker
There you go.
00:08:32
Speaker
So yeah, like, you know, it's just a...
00:08:35
Speaker
And I guess it stayed hidden so long like all the other stuff because celebrities just have that kind of power dynamics.
00:08:42
Speaker
It's crazy.
00:08:42
Speaker
I never understood it until I watched that show on Apple.
00:08:46
Speaker
What's that show called?
00:08:47
Speaker
The one with the reporters, Jennifer Aniston.
00:08:52
Speaker
Whatever it is.
00:08:52
Speaker
Look at my memory.
00:08:53
Speaker
It's always shot.
00:08:54
Speaker
If you listen to enough of my episodes, half the time I sound like a guy with Alzheimer's and an aging old dude going...
00:09:01
Speaker
What's that thing called?
00:09:03
Speaker
Anyway, I should really get this check now that I... If I remember to, I will.
00:09:09
Speaker
Wow, that's... Okay.
00:09:10
Speaker
Anywho, that show has this scene in season one where this Steve Carell's character who's like this rich, famous dude...
00:09:20
Speaker
He takes someone back to his hotel room.
00:09:23
Speaker
They'd been kind of laughing together.
00:09:25
Speaker
They'd been hanging out.
00:09:26
Speaker
A new girl working at the newsroom.
00:09:29
Speaker
And she freezes when he makes a move.
00:09:33
Speaker
And he takes her for consent.
00:09:35
Speaker
And they sleep together.
00:09:37
Speaker
And she doesn't retaliate.
00:09:39
Speaker
But to her, it was this frozen thing.
00:09:41
Speaker
That...
00:09:42
Speaker
scene really was so powerful for me because it really made it so clear what the problem was with these dynamics.
00:09:51
Speaker
And I, you know, in other instances, I frozen up in front of people in power.
00:09:56
Speaker
It happens to all of us.
00:09:59
Speaker
Luckily, my situation wasn't
00:10:02
Speaker
so horrible and um and and you know but it still leaves you with that feeling so god like you know you gotta you gotta this wealth fame this influence celebrities have it's just it's crazy and what do you do you know even the legal system kind of with juries and stuff they're human beings they'll look at someone they'll be influenced by uh by all this and maybe that's why i
00:10:28
Speaker
there's no justice for this stuff.
00:10:30
Speaker
But also, I can't believe all this went on for so long without people not knowing, right?
00:10:36
Speaker
Like it has to be.
00:10:39
Speaker
He was doing parties.
00:10:41
Speaker
There's no way some people didn't know.
00:10:43
Speaker
And the amount of like the culture of silence in the entertainment industry, it's why these... But I don't want to say that because then these conservatives latch on and they go, oh, you know, Hollywood's corrupt.
00:10:56
Speaker
When in fact, you get enough stories coming out of like other places like the church and stuff as well.
00:11:03
Speaker
So it's not so much of the culture of silence just in the entertainment industry.
00:11:09
Speaker
It's surprising how much there's a culture of silence around anything bad happening.
00:11:14
Speaker
It's it just goes on and on and calling it out can be so tricky, so hard.
00:11:20
Speaker
I think I've been in situations where maybe I didn't call out something.
00:11:24
Speaker
Nothing this horrendous.
00:11:25
Speaker
Don't worry.
00:11:26
Speaker
I haven't been invited to freak offs or anything.
00:11:29
Speaker
The most biggest freak off I might have had was on over burgers or some shit like that.
00:11:35
Speaker
But yeah, but definitely situations or stuff where you go at that point, you look back, I was younger, I was naive or just not confident enough.
00:11:44
Speaker
And you kind of go, maybe I should have said something about those situations, even if they're small, right?
00:11:49
Speaker
Because that culture of silence then builds up and people who get away with a few things might feel they can get away with a lot more.
00:11:57
Speaker
I'm not preaching here.
00:11:58
Speaker
I'm just saying the proof is in the pudding because if you don't...
00:12:03
Speaker
P. Diddy going to come for you.

Wealth Influence in Legal Matters

00:12:05
Speaker
Right.
00:12:05
Speaker
And and it's crazy like that.
00:12:07
Speaker
Like, it's just it's this privilege that I'd love to have for myself.
00:12:11
Speaker
Yeah.
00:12:12
Speaker
The dude offered, just so you know, his team, his legal team offered $50 million in bail, right?
00:12:20
Speaker
That's how much money this dude had.
00:12:22
Speaker
I don't think anyone should have more than $50 million at all after they reach that amount or so.
00:12:28
Speaker
They should just like โ€“ they've won.
00:12:30
Speaker
They've won Monopoly or something and that's it.
00:12:33
Speaker
Like they shouldn't be allowed to make any more money.
00:12:36
Speaker
Beyond that, this dude offered bail for that much.
00:12:39
Speaker
All right.
00:12:40
Speaker
The judges didn't let him through.
00:12:41
Speaker
I think they tried twice or something.
00:12:43
Speaker
So there's there's that.
00:12:46
Speaker
I think in a lot of countries, a lot of courts, people could put up that kind of money and get away with anything then.
00:12:52
Speaker
But surprisingly, he's been he's he's going to be spending time in jail waiting for his trial.
00:12:58
Speaker
So that's kind of crazy.
00:13:00
Speaker
And then.
00:13:02
Speaker
The other thing that gets me, though, you know, the sex trafficking bit.
00:13:05
Speaker
I get the guns and the drugs.
00:13:09
Speaker
I'm sure at that level of fame, there are women throwing themselves at you.
00:13:13
Speaker
How perverted or corrupt in your mind do you have to be to turn that into more and more?
00:13:19
Speaker
I guess that is the problem with human beings, though, right?
00:13:21
Speaker
Like, we get something, we want more, we want more, and then...
00:13:25
Speaker
Pretty soon you're running these kind of shitty things and eventually comes crashing down.
00:13:31
Speaker
If you live long enough, there are people who died before they should have been caught.
00:13:36
Speaker
They should have been caught, but they didn't.
00:13:39
Speaker
I don't know, man.
00:13:40
Speaker
Their entourage just like hanging around watching this thing.
00:13:44
Speaker
It's this whole concept of group thing, loyalty.
00:13:48
Speaker
You know, these individuals within these circles is like no one's speaking out.
00:13:51
Speaker
No one's asking questions about the ethical responsibilities.
00:13:56
Speaker
You know, you're witnessing this.
00:13:58
Speaker
You're enabling abusive behavior then.
00:14:01
Speaker
It's just crazy.
00:14:01
Speaker
Yeah.
00:14:03
Speaker
But there was something else about it, too.
00:14:04
Speaker
It was these videos.
00:14:05
Speaker
He apparently, and again, I know it has to be proven or something, but the accusation is that he had, like, explicit videos of some of the victims to blackmail them, right?
00:14:17
Speaker
And that whole thing of weaponization of digital footage and private media, like, that stuff just...
00:14:23
Speaker
It's crazy.
00:14:24
Speaker
It gets to me scary how much what else is happening, who has not spoken up.
00:14:30
Speaker
And finally, for that one person to speak up and and bring this house of cards down, the amount of courage it must have taken, the amount of pain they must have had to go through to go, no, I'm making this call and doing it.
00:14:45
Speaker
It's crazy.
00:14:46
Speaker
This whole digital world is just crazy.
00:14:49
Speaker
Oh, man.
00:14:50
Speaker
Like, he's just nuts.
00:14:51
Speaker
And then, I don't want to... Yeah, but this one's a bit funny, too.
00:14:57
Speaker
Because his freak-offs, it wasn't just about women.
00:15:01
Speaker
He was... There was a little bit of, like, male victimization as well.
00:15:06
Speaker
Because, you know, there were, like, these male...
00:15:10
Speaker
uh, sex workers, strip, whatever they were, it doesn't matter.
00:15:14
Speaker
They were forced to carry on and on.
00:15:16
Speaker
And it was a drug fueled thing.
00:15:18
Speaker
So you kind of listen to that and you go, there's a stigma around male survivors as well.
00:15:23
Speaker
This, this is hard.
00:15:24
Speaker
Eventually a woman spoke up, uh,
00:15:26
Speaker
And, man, you know, all of this is so, like, there's so many angles to this story that I just kind of, it's hard.
00:15:36
Speaker
Just the whole celebrity apology industry as well.
00:15:39
Speaker
You know, I can't wait for P. Diddy to come out on Oprah or something and issue statements of remorse to him.
00:15:48
Speaker
to manage these scandals and the whole PR team that get behind it.
00:15:52
Speaker
And pretty soon, there'll be a bunch of people that will start supporting him and his fans who don't want to believe the obvious evidence out there.
00:16:01
Speaker
You know, they'll perform this whole thing.
00:16:03
Speaker
And there's too many businesses riding on it, right?
00:16:07
Speaker
There's reputation and business interests of not just P. Diddy, but the people around him to make money off him.
00:16:12
Speaker
They're going to try protecting the stuff.
00:16:14
Speaker
Why not?
00:16:15
Speaker
Right.
00:16:15
Speaker
So there let's see how this one plays out.
00:16:17
Speaker
I just want to see how this plays out.
00:16:20
Speaker
And because, you know, these scandals, the break in this digital era, you don't know how long they're going to take.
00:16:25
Speaker
There's P. Diddy's high, high profile case.
00:16:29
Speaker
And then tomorrow there'll be something else people want to enforce justice for.
00:16:34
Speaker
There's a new sensationalism we want to go after.
00:16:39
Speaker
And there are no meaningful consequences.
00:16:42
Speaker
You just have to kind of survive it long enough to get out of public memory and the public eye.
00:16:49
Speaker
And then it's cool.
00:16:51
Speaker
You can go back to doing what you want.
00:16:53
Speaker
So that's... I don't know what else to say about this.
00:17:00
Speaker
It's just so weird and bizarre.
00:17:03
Speaker
It's a whole different world.
00:17:04
Speaker
It's this money and power and stuff and all these things that are going on.
00:17:08
Speaker
I have a hard time because...
00:17:11
Speaker
some of these guys I grew up on and I don't want my heroes to... He wasn't a hero.
00:17:15
Speaker
I just want to clarify this.
00:17:17
Speaker
P Diddy was no hero to me.
00:17:19
Speaker
In fact, if anything, I hated his version.
00:17:21
Speaker
Let me come out and say this now.
00:17:23
Speaker
Maybe people will be more open to me to accepting this.
00:17:25
Speaker
I hated his version of the Sting song.
00:17:31
Speaker
Sorry, Police.
00:17:31
Speaker
Yeah, whose song was it originally?
00:17:34
Speaker
I'll be missing you.
00:17:37
Speaker
It was who?
00:17:40
Speaker
P. Diddy just, I hated that version.
00:17:43
Speaker
And it would be on all the time.
00:17:45
Speaker
It would be playing all the time on MTV and Channel V and whatever I had at that time in my life.
00:17:51
Speaker
What is this, around 98 or something?
00:17:53
Speaker
I don't know.
00:17:53
Speaker
But it was, I never liked it.
00:17:56
Speaker
There.
00:17:56
Speaker
It feels so good to be able to say this out loud.
00:17:58
Speaker
I never liked it.
00:17:59
Speaker
I loved the original by Sting and just hated that he ruined it.
00:18:07
Speaker
But now, hopefully, we can all collectively put it behind us.
00:18:13
Speaker
Although Sting might be stung by this, because there was one time I read he was paid an insane...
00:18:22
Speaker
It was $5,000 a day or some shit like that.
00:18:25
Speaker
Go fact check this if you want.
00:18:27
Speaker
But it was something like that that I read a day for royalties because he sampled that song in it.
00:18:35
Speaker
Maybe that was a while ago or when it was popular.
00:18:38
Speaker
I don't know how far back this news was.
00:18:40
Speaker
But that's a lot of money coming to Sting that might dry up too.
00:18:43
Speaker
And now I'm in two minds.
00:18:45
Speaker
I like Sting.
00:18:46
Speaker
If P Diddy was driving money towards Sting...
00:18:51
Speaker
Oh, God.
00:18:51
Speaker
So many.
00:18:52
Speaker
See, this is a problem.
00:18:53
Speaker
There's so many moral dilemmas about these horrible situations and the fact that I have to get over them.
00:19:02
Speaker
All right.
00:19:03
Speaker
So girls, boys, you know, and whatever you identify with, you know,
00:19:10
Speaker
I don't say this mockingly, by the way.
00:19:12
Speaker
It's another topic we'll get into someday.
00:19:15
Speaker
Hopefully, when I have better knowledge of it myself.
00:19:19
Speaker
I don't like mocking new things.
00:19:22
Speaker
I've got enough things going on in my life as well.

Personal Life and Technology Decisions

00:19:25
Speaker
This whole celebrity thing is so interesting to me every time, though.
00:19:33
Speaker
I've been around some.
00:19:34
Speaker
Some people are seemingly very nice.
00:19:37
Speaker
Shit.
00:19:38
Speaker
I don't know what they are.
00:19:41
Speaker
I've been with some celebrities in hotel rooms.
00:19:44
Speaker
And I should clarify, it was like with a group of people and nothing happened.
00:19:50
Speaker
And I never got to witness any of these crazy parties.
00:19:52
Speaker
So that's a shame.
00:19:54
Speaker
No, I wouldn't want to be in one of those where bad things were happening.
00:19:58
Speaker
But a fun story with some crazy stuff would have been nice.
00:20:02
Speaker
Still possible, I guess.
00:20:05
Speaker
Yeah.
00:20:06
Speaker
Why am I even talking about this?
00:20:07
Speaker
I have bigger problems.
00:20:08
Speaker
I have electronics in my life just falling apart right now.
00:20:11
Speaker
You know, it's been my Mac.
00:20:14
Speaker
I've had my Mac for like 10 years and it's finally like you ever have a laptop, computer or any kind of electronic and start showing you signs.
00:20:22
Speaker
It's about to die.
00:20:24
Speaker
It's taking a little longer to start up.
00:20:27
Speaker
It's taking a little longer to load things.
00:20:29
Speaker
And you just want to ignore it because you're like, oh, man, it's going to be a big expense.
00:20:33
Speaker
I'm going to have to spend more money.
00:20:36
Speaker
I don't even know if I want this.
00:20:37
Speaker
You know, the problem with having a nice Mac laptop, for example, is that I go, I don't use it enough to justify buying a Mac again.
00:20:46
Speaker
One of the reasons I got the Mac, I'm not an artist.
00:20:48
Speaker
My wife is, but I'm not.
00:20:49
Speaker
I mean, I'm not into...
00:20:51
Speaker
I'm not an illustrator or artist that way.
00:20:55
Speaker
I got it because I love Final Cut Pro and I wanted to edit videos on this.
00:21:01
Speaker
But every kid I know is like moving on to CapCut.
00:21:06
Speaker
And even if they're doing it on the laptop, they don't need these apps anymore.
00:21:09
Speaker
You can do CapCut on the desktop as well.
00:21:13
Speaker
And I just kind of go, do you need a Mac to edit social media content?
00:21:19
Speaker
And that's the part where I'm, you know, I'm just like, is it worth buying such an expensive but great machine?
00:21:28
Speaker
Hey, listen, I'm not in the Apple cult, but I got to like once you go Mac, there's no turning back.
00:21:35
Speaker
It is a great machine.
00:21:38
Speaker
Like I said, it's lasted, I think it's been like eight years or 10 years this thing has lasted.
00:21:43
Speaker
Maybe less.
00:21:43
Speaker
Hang on.
00:21:44
Speaker
Four, five, six, seven.
00:21:46
Speaker
At least seven years now.
00:21:47
Speaker
At least that I can remember.
00:21:48
Speaker
Maybe eight or nine.
00:21:49
Speaker
I'm not sure.
00:21:50
Speaker
But that's good.
00:21:51
Speaker
The last laptop I bought before this lasted me three years.
00:21:55
Speaker
But by the end of it, it was like...
00:21:58
Speaker
It was on life support, you know, in three, four years, max, they died out so quickly.
00:22:03
Speaker
So, so I don't know if this, tell me what you guys

Surprises and Gratitude

00:22:07
Speaker
think about it, man.
00:22:07
Speaker
I've also, my wife will have found this out by then, but I've got a fridge being delivered because our fridge also went kaput.
00:22:16
Speaker
And it's been one of her lifelong dreams to get like an ice crusher thing.
00:22:21
Speaker
Not just ice, you know, with the fridge that dispense ice, but also like crushed ice.
00:22:27
Speaker
And man, it took me ages to find one that does it because some of them would only do water.
00:22:35
Speaker
And then some of them are too big for the space we have for our fridge.
00:22:37
Speaker
And then some of them would only do ice blocks.
00:22:40
Speaker
But I know she had mentioned crushed ice.
00:22:42
Speaker
So I finally found one in my budget and space.
00:22:46
Speaker
and I got it, and it's being delivered today.
00:22:48
Speaker
She doesn't know it yet.
00:22:49
Speaker
She thinks it's a normal fridge, but I'm going to surprise her with this and earn some brownie points, hopefully.
00:22:57
Speaker
She's been very supportive of me this year, so I'm very, very lucky to have her.
00:23:02
Speaker
This is my way of paying back with a fridge.
00:23:07
Speaker
Oh, my God.
00:23:07
Speaker
It makes me sound like a 1940s husband.
00:23:09
Speaker
Yeah.
00:23:12
Speaker
It also makes me feel so old that I'm excited about a fridge.
00:23:16
Speaker
Oh, God, this is horrible.
00:23:17
Speaker
What a thing to end on.
