The story goes that on the morning of December 4th, police and paramedics responded to a call for an unresponsive infant. According to the charging papers, she had been dead for quite some time.

Mary's childhood was not great. It consisted of neglect, abuse, and ill treatment. Mary's mother, Elizabeth Betty McCricket, was a 17-year-old prostitute who specialized in dominatrix services.

Now, Betty's lifestyle exposed Mary to extreme dangers. As a toddler, she was allegedly dropped from a window, my god overdosed on sleeping pills disguised as sweets, and even temporarily sold to a mentally unstable woman for adoption.

57, she's 10. Okay. She's 10 in this, at this point. um On May 11th, 1968, Mary and Norma pushed a toddler off an air raid shelter roof and tried to strangle three girls in a sand pit.

Weeks later, the murders would happen. During this time, Newcastle was under redevelopment. On May 28, 1968, the day before Mary's 11th birthday, she strangled four-year-old Martin Brown in a deserted house on St. Margaret's Road.

Mary told Martin that he had a sore throat and she began massaging his throat and then squeezed until he died. Oh my God.

Martin's body was discovered at 3.30 PM with blood from his nose, but no obvious signs of violence. An initial post-mortem exam ruled out any poisoning. Okay.

The next day, Mary and Norma vandalized a local nursery and leaving bone-chilling notes, quote, We did murder Martin Brown.

They even visited Martin's grieving mother, June Brown, asking her to see him in his coffin. And Mary's stating, quote, Oh, I know he's dead.

I wanted to see him in his coffin, unquote. Oh, my gosh, that's chilling. The second killing was on July 31st, 1968, involving a three-year-old boy named Brian Howie on a wasteland known as the Tin Lizzy.

This time, Norma was with Mary. Yes. Mary strangled Brian by squeezing his nostrils and throat, later telling Norma, quote, I squeezed his neck and pushed his pushed up his lungs. That's how you kill them, unquote.

After Brian was dead, they mutilated his body. They punctured his legs with scissors and Norma carved an N on Brian's stomach and then Mary turned it into an M. They cut his hair and even attempted attempted to mutilate his genitals with a razor.

In all the articles that I read, she was just referred to as Edward's wife. So the police questioned nearby kids, and and one boy said that he saw a boy with one big eye and one little eye, who was not wearing shoes or stockings, took his little brother away.

Oh. It was presumed that the kidnapper may have been squinting with one eye, and that is why he said one big eye and one little eye. One week later, eight-year-old Patrick Knowles was arrested on suspicion of causing Frederick's death.

Patrick admitted that he had been out selling newspapers that day and had not been wearing shoes or stockings, but denied the murder of Frederick. He did, however, admit to burying a two-year-old child the previous March at the Iron Works.

the Hudson family and the Tippins family lived not far from one another. On this particular day, anne Tippins and Fanny Hudson were going to attend a celebration in the neighborhood and had anticipating being gone most of the day.

Ann Tippins left her son George, five years old, in charge of one-year-old Waverly Tippins. Fanny left her children to take care of themselves. They were Virginia, age seven, Tommy, age five, and Sam, age three.

The two Tippins children went to the Hudson home for reasons unknown. My assumption would be to play. Something set Virginia off and she went into a fit of rage and took a board and beat little one-year-old Waveli about the head and body and took sand and rubbed in the baby's eyes and mouth.

jesus When death arrived, Virginia removed the baby's clothing and threw him down a well. For reasons unknown, she also tried to kill five-year-old George Tippins, but according to Virginia, he kicked and she couldn't get him down the well.

When Waverly was recovered from the well, the little body showed horrible signs of a beating. The baby was covered in bruises, her skull was fractured, her right leg was broken, and her chest cavity was crushed in.

Virginia was found guilty and sentenced to jail. One more. What the freak is wrong? I know. This one takes place in Scottsville, Virginia, May 26, 1885, where Mary Cooper, age eight, became angry at her cousin, seven-year-old Melville Barrett, because he had eaten her egg that the hen laid on the bed.

In her anger, she lured Melville. Mary talked Melville into getting into a chair and rope so they could make a homemade swing. She fashioned a noose and managed to get Melville's head into it while he was standing on the chair. And then she just pushed the chair out from under him. And while he was hanging, she beat him with the shovel until he died.
