Eden & Briana: Well, let's just jump right in the deep end then. Okay. um no Sorry, I'm distracted.
Eden & Briana: In Riverside County, California, the mother of seven-month-old Emanuel Harrow has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and waived her right to a trial. On May 29th, Rebecca Harrow, 42, pleaded to one count each of involuntary manslaughter, child endangerment, and being an accessory to murder after the fact, according to KTTV. She was sentenced to 12 years and eight months in prison.
Eden & Briana: Haro had reported her son missing on August 14th, 2025. She told police she was knocked unconscious while she was changing his ni changing his diaper in a parking lot and the child was gone when she regained consciousness.
Eden & Briana: An intensive search of the area was launched. Investigators believed Harrow's story was false and the child had died from prolonged abuse prolonged abuse and head trauma based on photo and digital evidence reviewed by doctors.
Eden & Briana: A forensic pediatric specialist who reviewed the evidence said Emmanuel Harrow had abnormal shaking in his extremities caused by a brain injury due to abuse, KABC reports.
Eden & Briana: Emanuel Harrell's body has not been found, but his father, Jake Harrell, was sentenced to 32 years in prison in November of 2025 after pleading guilty to murder, KTTV reports.
Eden & Briana: According to KESQ, Assistant ah District Attorney Brandon Smith does not believe the child's body will ever be recovered. At the hearing, KTTV reports Smith said, quote, Rebecca Harrow is going to prison because she failed as a mother.
Eden & Briana: She may not have put her hands on Emanuel, but she knew that Jake was, and she had a responsibility to intervene, and she chose repeatedly not to, unquote.
Eden & Briana: Are you done with that? I am done with that because...
Eden & Briana: Some people just should not be mothers. And if you don't want your children, there's wonderful people out there that would love to take them. And that's all I'm going to say. Birth control. Tie your tubes. Hysterectomy.
Eden & Briana: Abstinence. Yeah, right. She definitely missed the mother bear. The mother bear instinct.
Eden & Briana: So yeah, um pretty sh shit deal. That's an understatement. Yes. i'll never and so i'll I'll never get there.
Eden & Briana: I'll never wrap my head around any of that. Nope. Neither will I would jump in front of a mountain lion to protect my kids. Mountain lion bear, car, bullet, anything.
Eden & Briana: You name it. And if I catch anybody hurting my children's, I'll be in jail. Me too. Be right behind you. That goes for my grandbabies too. Yep.
Eden & Briana: I don't understand a mother that wouldn't do that. I just, I, I have no comprehension. I can't even pretend to understand.
Eden & Briana: Okay. Well, thanks for that. You're welcome. You're not going to like this story either. Well, let's just jump straight into the deep end, shall we? I suppose. You got a life jacket for me somewhere?
Eden & Briana: Oh, brilliant. Brilliant. It's a good thing we don't do video very often. Oh my gosh. Well, lay down on me. What do we got today? All right.
Eden & Briana: Oh, I'm going apologize for the sniffles. My allergies are off the charts. So there's that. I'll try not to though. On today's episode, we will be talking about Justin J. Lynch and No Not the Country Singer.
Eden & Briana: just so Just to make that clear. Okay? Interesting. Dustin was born on
Eden & Briana: December 1986 Ohio. No.
Eden & Briana: no Nope. You share a birthday with ah sp a very dangerous man. Swallow your... Sorry. ah Anyways.
Eden & Briana: No. i don't make the rules. Yeah, but I'm sorry. Why my birthday? That's just dumb.
Eden & Briana: Dustin had a very troubled history involving run-ins with the law and placement in juvenile In the juvenile system. That tracks. In late October 2002, Dustin was 15 at the time.
Eden & Briana: Justin was a Department of Youth Services parolee, which means like a young person who has been released from a youth correctional facility and is completing their sentence under community supervision.
Eden & Briana: Oh, okay. Okay. So he's a runaway. Okay. um Dustin's case drew national attention not only for his senseless violence, but also for attempts to link it to the video game Grand Theft Auto III and antidepressant medications.
Eden & Briana: And I'm not go i this ringing a bell not going to go too deep into that. Well, I told you a little bit about this story. No, the GTA, the game thing ringing think we had another case that had video games. Yes, it was... um
Eden & Briana: Besides the point. it was music. so Okay, yeah. Now let's talk about little Miss Jolene Mishny. She was 17. Oops, I bumped the computer. Jolene.
Eden & Briana: Jolene. Jolene. Okay. Was your typical, somewhat naive high school junior living her best life. Even though her life wasn't always easy, especially when her parents separated and her mother moved out.
Eden & Briana: Oh. It took her a while to come to terms with her mom leaving, and I think it's because she got along with her dad really well due to him letting Jolynn do pretty much whatever she wanted. Hmm.
Eden & Briana: Now, most kids, I think, would have taken advantage of that freedom, but JoLynn really didn't. She would donate her clothes to charity, and she was always the peacemaker between her friends.
Eden & Briana: And she just had a really big heart that when James Lynette... ah James Lynette told JoLynn that he had run away from an abusive home, allegedly, and she saw him hanging outside the local Denny's restaurant. She made a immediately fell for his sob story. So that's kind of where the naive... Okay.
Eden & Briana: Part comes in. Um... James was a scrawny kid who looked like he missed a few meals. Jalynne begged her father, Mickey, to let James stay at their house for a few nights, and Mickey gave in.
Eden & Briana: Wait a minute. What?
Eden & Briana: I'm confused. Why are you confused? I'm recovering Dustin Lynch. Okay. Okay. yes Just settle down, okay Okay, you're confusing me with this James feller.
Eden & Briana: Okay. He told JoLynn his name was James. Lynette. Oh. Okay. Okay? Yes.
Eden & Briana: I'm sitting here going, what? It's part of the story, mom. Okay. Okay. Now, when...
Eden & Briana: When Mickey brought up the concern of where James would sleep, Jolynn immediately say said, quote, he can sleep in a sleeping bag in my room, unquote.
Eden & Briana: Mickey, of course, didn't object to the idea. A week had passed and James was still staying without any problems. But that quickly changes.
Eden & Briana: Mom, this is freaking serious. Stop listening. You sure we haven't covered this case? I'm positive. Okay, keep going. On the morning of November 2nd, 2002, Mickey had left the kid's sleep while he went on about his day.
Eden & Briana: Later, when he returned home, he noticed that Jolynn's black Chevy Cavalier was gone, which wasn't unusual because Jolynn loved her car and loved driving her friends around.
Eden & Briana: But what was unusual was that Jolynn left the front door unlocked.
Eden & Briana: When Mickey went inside the home, he heard music playing upstairs. Now, it takes Mickey a minute to get upstairs be he because he has a congenital disorder that causes muscle ah atrophy.
Eden & Briana: oh sure. Yeah, okay. So going up the stairs is quite painful. Oof.
Eden & Briana: When Mickey reached the bathroom, opening the door, he sees a radio sitting on the tub and a pile of wet clothes and towels on the floor. So from the bathroom, Mickey made his way to Jolynn's room, and he was not prepared to see what lies inside. Oh, boy.
Eden & Briana: Mickey spotted another pile of clothes, but on her bed this time, and in that pile of clothes was a human foot sticking out. Oh. Oh. Okay. Mickey rushed to the bed, whipping the clothes out until he discovered his daughter's bloody face...
Eden & Briana: Until he discovered his... What the fuck? Whipping the clothes out until he discovered his daughter's bloody face was uncovered. So, yeah.
Eden & Briana: Jolene's eyes were open and glassy and it didn't appear to be breathing. Mickey panicked, grabbing and shaking her while he screamed her name.
Eden & Briana: And she wasn't responding.
Eden & Briana: Mickey's first initial thought was that she harmed herself only because Jolene had met with her mom, Lori, the evening before, and according to records, the meeting hadn't gone well.
Eden & Briana: Okay. She had come home with tears in her eyes and was pretty angry. Okay. So Mickey questioned was she upset enough to take her own life, but he wasn't sure.
Eden & Briana: He only knew that he needed to get to his needed to get his daughter help. With adrenaline pumping, Mickey ran downstairs as fast as he could to get his phone.
Eden & Briana: When he called 911, he was already making his way back upstairs, telling the operator, quote, I think my daughter killed herself, unquote. He felt for a pulse and there wasn't one and told the operator, quote, but her hands are still warm, unquote. God.
Eden & Briana: When asked if he knew CPR, he had the gist of it, so the operator obviously walked him through it. um When Mickey started throwing the clothes to the side, he revealed a kitchen knife sticking out from her side, and Mickey yelled, quote, Oh, geez, there's a knife stuck in her. oh my God.
Eden & Briana: oh The operator advised him not to remove the knife and to continue CPR. When police and paramedics arrived, they found Mickey still doing CPR, but his efforts had failed.
Eden & Briana: Jolynn was gone.
Eden & Briana: Jolynn had been punched, beaten with a bedpost, and then repeatedly stabbed in the torso with a kitchen knife. Oh, my gosh. She was mostly knocked, most likely knocked unconscious with the bedpost and bled out with the stab wounds.
Eden & Briana: As brutal as this was, I'm glad she never regained consciousness. Right. Yes, absolutely.
Eden & Briana: What a waste of life. Oh, hang on. My pages are stuck together here.
Eden & Briana: nipples the gruesome doesn't stop there oh no no no no no next to jolyn's body on the bed was a note that read quote police fuck you jill's next ask my mom she knows unquote
Eden & Briana: Obviously, this note made things worse because whoever did this seemed to have a killing spree on their agenda. u huh The police and family were on high alert. However, the police had...
Eden & Briana: the name of James Lynette as a suspect who is now missing along with JoLynn's car. An alert was sent out regarding the car and James. Just four hours later, the car was spotted in the parking lot of a restaurant that wasn't far from Mickey and JoLynn's home.
Eden & Briana: In the car were two teenage boys in front and four teenage girls in the back. The boy behind the wheel claimed that the car was his and police arrested him on the spot.
Eden & Briana: Okay. Mickey would later pick him out as James Lynette, who had been staying at the house, but his real name being Dustin Lynch.
Eden & Briana: Mm-hmm. I knew I wasn't nuts. I told told you it's part of the story. Okay. Okay. Dustin didn't even try denying that he was the one who murdered Jolynn and acted like he was like celebrating the murder. Oh my God.
Eden & Briana: Now remember in his note, it said, asked my mom, she knows. Uh huh. Well, his mother actually insisted that her son Dustin was not a killer.
Eden & Briana: When Dustin was asked if his obsession with GTA 3 influenced him to kill, Dustin laughed and said, quote, whoever believes that GTA 3 influenced me to brutally kill JoLynn, they are all idiots.
Eden & Briana: I killed JoLynn Mishni for my own personal satisfaction, not because of a video game. I did her a favor and satisfied all my needs while doing it.
Eden & Briana: Did her a favor?
Eden & Briana: Also, in the interview, he claimed that he knew at the age of six that he wanted to kill someone and even said that he would end up on death row saying, quote, when I'm ready, I'm going to kill someone else so that I can get the death penalty. I'm just curious to know what it's like to be dead.
Eden & Briana: I want to die by lethal injection, unquote. Oh, my God. Okay. Since Dustin was only 15, didn't qualify for the death penalty.
Eden & Briana: Right. After pleading guilty, he was sentenced to 20 years to life.
Eden & Briana: He insisted that he wasn't afraid of being locked up with other dangerous offenders. In fact, he said, quote, I may be small, but I know how to handle my business. I'm a lynch. It runs through our blood, just like jail, unquote.
Eden & Briana: Now, this next bit of information kind of took me by surprise. boy. Because he's 15 in a prison with full-grown men. Mm-hmm. You would think, like... He'd be scared shitless?
Eden & Briana: And he probably couldn't take on these offenders, right? One would think. Wrong. What? On March 17th, 2023, 43-year-old Arturo Lopez, who is Dustin's cellmate, was found strangled and the word CHOMO carved into his back.
Eden & Briana: if For those of you who don't know what CHOMO stands for, it stands for child molester. Oh. Lopez had been serving time for rape.
Eden & Briana: Once again, Dustin found himself in front of a judge with a no contest plea and told the judge, quote, do what you have to do, unquote.
Eden & Briana: The judge sentenced Dustin to life without parole. I... but ye That just... blew me away. He was 15. In 2013. I guess he would have been older.
Eden & Briana: Right? So...
Eden & Briana: Sorry. So in 2002, he was 15. add... Huh? I don't know. He would have been 2002. So 11 years 15.
Eden & Briana: know he would have been older two thousand and two so add eleven years to fifteen So he would have ish right i suppose something like that um sorry now we're gonna find my spot
Eden & Briana: oh oh Oh, yeah, yeah. yeah um So he got life without parole. Now, I wish this was the end of the story, but fortunately it isn't. However.
Eden & Briana: I knew it. Now, in May or June, I've seen it in both spots. Okay. In May slash June 2004, Mickey Mishney
Eden & Briana: mickey misney was found in a barn behind their house. What? His autopsy said that he was bludgeoned to death with a tire iron, most likely. What?
Eden & Briana: His ex-wife, Lori, and her boyfriend, Dan Johnson, were arrested. Dan pled guilty and was sentenced to life, and Lori pled not guilty and convicted, serving 15 years in jail.
Eden & Briana: And the reason they murdered Mickey, they wanted to take over his estate and assets.
Eden & Briana: Imagine being murdered less than two years after your daughter was murdered in the same house.
Eden & Briana: Unbelievable.
Eden & Briana: So now both of these people are dead.
Eden & Briana: And for what? For us. I did her a favor. oh Yeah, i want i I want to talk more about that. idle Was there any explanation by what he meant?
Eden & Briana: Like, obviously, it sounds like a sarcastic comment. Like... She had no purpose. I don't know if she confided in her about, like, her troubles with her mom.
Eden & Briana: I'm not... I'm not... i can definitely look deeper into it. Not necessarily. I can use my imagination. Because I... Thought if you knew, it'd be interesting. Like... Because I started this case, like, what, a month and a half ago? think so. And just, like, finished it today, so I was...
Eden & Briana: I don't know how to do it, but not really. It's just... Sorry, I had to yawn.
Eden & Briana: Wow.
Eden & Briana: that That comment bugs me really bad. Yeah. And not only that, he knew since he was six years old that he wanted to kill someone.
Eden & Briana: Yeah, that's creepy. Six years old? You should be thinking about nothing, My son is older than him. Yeah.
Eden & Briana: You should be meeting friends in pre-K. That's what you should be doing. we're Not thinking about killing. Well, sixth grade would be... erf six years old, he'd be in first grade. Oh, first... Yeah, you're right.
Eden & Briana: Four is pre-K. Yeah. Jeez. But imagine telling these great people that you're a troubled, runaway from home, abusive home,
Eden & Briana: And then just killing her.
Eden & Briana: Yeah. So how long was he there how long was he there before he killed her? It was over a week.
Eden & Briana: Did they have any kind of relationship during that week? Was he just leading her on just so he could kill her? No, she just believed his sob story and felt bad for him and wanted to help the best way she could.
Eden & Briana: It's
Eden & Briana: unreal.
Eden & Briana: If you liked this episode, you could... Leave us a rate and review. um If you have questions, comments, concerns, case recommendations, you can email us at minorsofmayhem at gmail.com.

Eden & Briana: I think that's... Oh! I think... I'm not laughing now. I'm laughing. We're gonna... This is rough, but we're going to get better?
Eden & Briana: are we now? More prepared? You better knock on wood, because... We haven't got our chicken. I said not beaver. yeah no Every time we think we're going to get our shit together, every chicken goes all over the fucking field.
