Speaker: are you fucking ready i don't know you're scaring me

Speaker: you gotta match my energy bitch oh my goodness today is not a to be tired yeah i know but i am tired Because I still got up at 4.20 this morning.

Speaker: Lays it. ah I know. I used to make a couple of my friends laugh all the time when, you know, whenever I would talk about work and I'm like, I have to get up at 4.20. And they're just like, oh, oh, oh.

Speaker: Yep. No, literally i should be getting up at 4 or 4.10, but like the last few days i just said, screw it. And I just... set my alarm a little bit later because I'm like, I don't really care anymore. Screw it for a very good reason. Five minutes late to work, like three days this week. What are they going to do about it? Exactly.

Speaker: just You want to tell the people? Yeah. Today was my last day driving a school bus. Whee!

Speaker: I mean, it's like, i know I'm not trying to put this into the universe, but there's always a possibility I could go back as a substitute if I need money, but like I'm doing everything in my power not to do that.

Speaker: Yeah. And it's like, you know, maybe a couple of years down the line, it might be like a nice idea. And, you know, obviously scaled back. Yeah.

Speaker: You know, like not nearly the amount of hours that you've had to do the last few years. Right. But like, for now, you are home free, bitch. Mm hmm.

Speaker: and I have an interview for a new job on Monday. fuck yeah. I'm so excited. i feel like it's a shoe in and like. Every time I've talked about it to people, I've been talking about it like it's already mine. Yeah. Like unintentionally. But yeah. Yeah.

Speaker: Literally, though. It's perfect. So I'm so fucking excited for you, dude. I'm having a celebratory margarita. Good. I'm having a celebratory lemonade. Remember when I sent you the picture of the lemonade that was way too small? Cheers.

Speaker: Cheers. Cheers. Do you remember when sent you that photo? Was that Wendy's? Burger King. Burger King, yes. I do remember that. They were arguing with you. Yeah, they were. i was like, I couldn't believe it. um yeah They were like, this is the large for the signature lemonades. And I was just like, literally, i have never received this size in all the times I've ordered a signature lemonade the large. And this time, no questioning, they just gave me the correct size. Right.

Speaker: And It was that one dumb person who was helping you that one That one who was arguing with me for some reason. was just like, what the hell? don't know. Anyway, it's good.

Speaker: Strawberry lemonade. Amazing. Yeah, there's some other drinks that like McDonald's has been putting out lately that have all these different little mixes in them and stuff. Yeah, they're like the dirty sodas that are all trendy now.

Speaker: Yeah. and like Mormons love them.

Speaker: That's hilarious. um There's one that John gets all the time for McDonald's and I cannot remember which one it is, but he loves it. I don't know. can't remember. Jim likes the blue one.

Speaker: he i haven't tried any of them. I've not tried any of them. Whenever wants to order it, he either calls it shark or ocean. yeah Because it looks, it's like bright, bright electric blue. And then it's got like a foam on top.

Speaker: Hmm. that I don't really know what flavor of foam it is, but like apparently it's good. I i don't know. But you haven't tried it yet? It's blue with white, and so it just like looks like the ocean.

Speaker: That's cool. But I've never i've never tried it. i don't usually go for those like fancy schmance ones at McDonald's. Yeah. I get my Coca-Cola, and that's all. Yay! Yeah, I'm an old lady. I got margarita, and i'm a little I'm an old lady. Margaritas are the drink of choice for me these days.

Speaker: Yeah, they have been for a while. Yeah, but like I've pretty much given up every other alcohol now. As long as you've given up Four Locos, I am not going to argue with them. Dude, i i Yeah, ever since they changed the formula on them, I don't know what the hell... Is it that they took the caffeine out? I can't remember. No.

Speaker: I mean... years ago, i guess they didn't take the caffeine out because like, Oh, the last time I had four loco, I was the sickest I've ever been except for maybe after I had 25 shots of vodka, but like, you know, that's besides the point.

Speaker: No, like back around 2010 ish before or in prior to that, like they were one formula. and then like a big thing happened and it made the news and then they changed their formula and got rid of like the herbal stuff that makes it more energetic.

Speaker: Like it still had caffeine in it, but it had like taurine and all these other like, can stuff that red bulls yeah, just like, yeah. And so when you combine that with alcohol, it it can become dangerous. But like the point, The point of a four loco is that you just have one and that's it because you get blasted on one. And like these people were drinking too many of them and mixing other, you know, alcohol. Oh, that's stupid. Yeah. So they all got like, like a whole bunch of them got hospitalized because they were like having cardiac events and shit. Yeah.

Speaker: but so that explains why I had to call out the next day. i hate to Yeah. I've had to like, one time I called out of work when I was working at Starbucks. Oh my God. That's funny. The only time. And I was miserable. I never got out of bed that whole day. Oh man.

Speaker: So they had changed the formula after that because it was really controversial. Like what happened that, you know to those college kids or whatever it was. And, um,

Speaker: And I was fine with that. Like I was okay with, actually they took them off the market or something. So I remember like the corner store by my house, I went, I used to go in there to get one like every weekend or whatever.

Speaker: And then I went in there and I was like, are they taking them off the shelves? And like, he was like, yeah, he goes, but I'll sell you the last case we have. And I was like, okay. So bought a case of like 12 of them and he gave me a good price.

Speaker: That's good at least. Because he knew me and he knew I came in for one like every weekend or whatever. So I had that case for the longest time. And then um then I didn't buy any for a while because they were ah weren't available. And then they changed the formula and like put them back out. And that was fine for a while.

Speaker: And I was okay with them the way they were. but I'm telling you, in the last couple of years, they have done something else to them that is just not good. It it has a very... nice bad Yes, it has like artificial like sweetener taste in it. And it never used to have that before. Like I'm pretty, I'm pretty keen to those tastes. Like they leave like an aftertaste in my mouth and I don't like it.

Speaker: And so I can tell they have done something to them, but like I have not been able to figure it out. Like I looked online, I tried to, you know, look up like their ingredients and stuff. Like it just seems like I couldn't figure out what they did to them, but I know they changed them because it just don't taste good anymore. They're like, i mean, they weren't good to begin with, but like,

Speaker: The thing is, I mean, like the flavors were fine and like the taste of them were fine. Yeah. I mean, they could be kind of weird. Like after you have a couple of sips of it, you don't notice it anymore. You know, like the buzz starts taking over. but now it's like it doesn't matter how much of it I've drank. I can still taste like this weirdness and I don't like it.

Speaker: Yeah. So I've quit drinking those because of that. and um yeah I had any 2016. Yeah. And like coke you know like a rum and coke or something. like Yeah. I'll do a rum and coke. I'll do a margarita.

Speaker: But I really won't do much else. yeah like If there's a good gin cocktail, I'll do that. But like that's otherwise, like I don't order like a gin martini. I've never ordered like a regular martini or anything. I've just done like specials but yeah i'm still definitely up for like a bloody mary like i'll make a bloody mary or i'll get one somewhere but for you not for me i know i know i'll do a mimosa m I do love a mimosa. Oh, and especially as i I know we've mentioned at some point during the holidays, the apple cider mimosas.

Speaker: Ooh, yes. Yeah. You remember having those when we did our Thanksgiving meal together? Yeah. Those are to die for. Yummy.

Speaker: But yeah. I have a bottle of... I can't remember the last time I had an alcoholic beverage. Huh. Yeah. We bought a bottle of rum when we were in um the Bahamas.

Speaker: We actually bought two bottles, but yeah one of them didn't make it off the ship. We drank it. Because we smuggled it back into our cabin. Like, you're not supposed to be able to do that. But but I figured out a trick. So I did it. Oh, my God.

Speaker: Anyway. So, yeah. We drank the one. And then um the second one we brought home. And we have not opened it. That won't survive. okay. Oh, no. We haven't opened it Like a month ago, I finally opened it and made a couple of drinks for me and John. But it's just not my my favorite thing anymore. And I didn't even get a buzz, you know, was like, i don't know.

Speaker: It probably depends on if I'm eating things or whatever, but still. It does. That's like scientifically how it works. so yeah but For whatever reason, margaritas still like get me a buzz even when I'm eating, you know.

Speaker: That's what it seems like. and Yeah, well, tequila is on its own level. i I think one of the things about it is tequila being an upper. yes A stimulant.

Speaker: I think that that like really, really has a good impact on like our ADHD. Yeah. Yeah. It's literally a scientific fact that tequila is the only stimulant or upper type alcohol and every other alcohol on the planet is considered a depressant. Yeah.

Speaker: So if you ever wonder why you get happy when you're drinking tequila or margaritas, that's why.

Speaker: Yeah. news I don't even know. i'm like at the point where since I can't remember the last time I had an alcoholic beverage, I don't think I would do too well having any like I think it would probably make me sick more than anything else. Mm hmm.

Speaker: it's in the same vein of i was thinking about this recently it's been so fucking long since i've been to a theme park oh i worry i'd get sick if i got on a roller coaster yeah and i never never have like have been so good at roller coasters but like now that it's been at least a decade yes me too more than a decade since i've been on one i'm like oh i don't think like i it's just it's one of those small little things where i'm like feeling my age yeah and let me tell you it's been since i was almost your age since i've been to one wow it's been a while it's been like it's been since longer since that i've known john which is like 15 years now yeah and then like

Speaker: Probably a couple years before that even. So it's probably, yeah I was probably around your age when I went last time. And like, it was crazy. Like, how long had it been before that?

Speaker: Do you remember? Maybe a handful of years. Because i I know I went with my ex-boyfriend, Steve. Him and I went together. And then I went with Vicki Potter, my good friend, who she's listening to our podcast by the way. Hi Vicki. So I hope you don't mind me mentioning your name lady, but, uh, nobody's going to know who you are anyway. Um, anyway, uh, we went and like her daughter and her and her husband at the time. And like, I think her son and his girlfriend, like they had all come down there too.

Speaker: And, uh, I'm pretty sure it was it was with her was the last time i I've been there. But ah I'll tell you what, man, I know for a fact I had a very hard time getting any seatbelts on in any of those rides. And I was like 50 pounds less than I am now.

Speaker: So if I try to go now, I wouldn't be able to ride anything. I'm certain of it. I mean, except for the ones that had the pull down things. But I think those still have seatbelts, too.

Speaker: But yes, it depends. But yeah. And John wants to go and take our kid like really, really bad this summer. And I'm like, it would be a humongous waste of money, in my opinion, because I don't know if if our kid would even get on a roller coaster by himself. And I know that neither one of us would be able to get on one.

Speaker: so it's you know my my husband lives in a pipe dream most of the time so it's another one of these crazy ideas that i'm just like it's never gonna happen dude not until we lose like 100 pounds each anyway um yeah i was thinking about it and i like i think that the last time that i went to a theme park probably was in 2013, like the summer before I moved to Boston.

Speaker: Unless I'm forgetting some other time, but like, I really didn't spend much time at home after I moved to Boston. Like, i would go home on my breaks between semesters, but I was in school year round. for three years so after that and then yeah i definitely haven't been doing the park ever since i graduated college so i think it was summer of 2013 i would love to go to one with you someday we'll see that used to be one of my favorite things to do ever the whole world but i also again with the whole like completely outside of the fitting um like i just don't think i i think i would get sick

Speaker: And I think I'd be miserable. And I think that it just is, it's just, that when I think about theme parks now, like also outside of that, outside of the sickness and the, and the,

Speaker: not fitting like the thought of just being in the hot sun all day like i'm just i'm i'm so too much of an adult i know about it like i just can't i know let me tell you it the same way that i can't conceive of like families like parents wanting to take little children who scream and cry and complain all day like I would without that factor. I think that it would be miserable. Like yeah I was so much more resilient as a teenager. Oh yeah, for sure. and like but I just, again, I'm just really feeling my age and probably don't really need to dwell on it. but I completely understand. And I was just going to tell you a story from when we went, when I was there last time. Okay. um

Speaker: So it was so freaking humid like so freaking humid. yeah it would get sweaty and then your clothes just stayed wet the entire day. yeah And then i ended up with the worst rash between my thighs ever.

Speaker: I could not walk out of the park Unless my legs were like two feet, like my feet were two feet away. And I was like walking like this because to like yeah to keep my thighs from rubbing. Or a cowboy or whatever. It hurt so fucking bad. And and then by the time I know i got to the car, i took off my shorts and I had a beach towel I wrapped around me and I stuck the towel between my legs to keep like the skin from touching. Oh my God.

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. There were other things too, but oh, I was going to say, I remember one of the rides, I started feeling really like dizzy and like not feeling great.

Speaker: And i was asking Vicki, like, how in the hell how are you like dealing with us? Because, you know, she's 25 years older than me. And like, she's like, I'm just, just relax. Yeah.

Speaker: And I was like, okay. So I just relaxed and I took deep breaths and it was so much more enjoyable and I didn't get sick. yeah So there's a way of doing it that can help.

Speaker: But like if you're tensed up and not breathing, oh, it'll make you sick. Trust me. my god But she had the key and I'm like, wow, that works.

Speaker: That makes sense to me. um But even just like two weeks ago when Tom was here and like while we were cooking, we started like dancing like kind of salsa dancing, but like not really because neither of us actually know how to salsa dance. Okay. But like in that sort of mode and it was too um smooth by Santana featuring Bob Thomas. ah um And we were like just dancing and going in circles dancing with Tom, I got dizzy.

Speaker: And I'm like, just like, I mean, I guess I wouldn't really be able to fully relax in that situation because I'm like, you know, trying to dance. But like, I guess if I could just ragdoll on roller coaster, I probably would be okay. I was a ah more than a few weeks ago when ah Jim and I went to his parents house and I was in the pool with the tube and I said, Oh, yes. circles Yeah, I was making myself dizzy like that. But it wasn't nauseating. It was just like, and it was the way I remember being busy as a kid.

Speaker: h um but that was a lot of fun but it was also like easy going and i i guess i could basically relax in that uh in that instance because i was in the pool so yeah but i don't know i like it just man If we had like a go a golf cart or something. I know. Oh my god like oh like Guaranteed shade and guaranteed like transportation. Yes.

Speaker: then uh like i could conceive of having fun at a theme park but since that's not really an option ever unless you work there like i just i don't know we'll see one of these days i don't know why i forgot about this but like we took our kid to disneyland in 2022 that's right in uh disney world disney world in florida yeah yeah um after our cruise we got off the ship and like yeah that day we drove to orlando orlando we had like we had one night in a hotel room and then we went into disney world for the like day and then we had a hotel room again um it was fun and like

Speaker: We didn't do any big roller coasters, obviously, because there's not really... Yeah, there's not many rides in Disney World. will say, though, Space Coaster or whatever it was called. Space Coaster's okay. It was pretty wild. Space Mountain, you mean? Space Mountain.

Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. It's okay. as like it's It's, you know... Well, i hadn't been on it in a long time. It's not Universal. okay but i that's all i'll say i hadn't been on it in ah in like you know 40 years or something was very long time yes and so it was like i know i mean i remembered visually like what it was like it was dark and you you know you have like lights going and you can't see where the track is in front of you and stuff that that's freaky you know but yeah being on it and i had our we did take our son on that and he didn't seem to flip out about like he didn't freak out but i know i was his age when i was on it before and so i thought he could handle it and stuff and and he did okay um do you but that's where it was definitely scary right yes we did the haunted mansion that's a good one we did the pirates of the caribbean yeah that's a classic did small world

Speaker: Forever and ever, I will never understand how the movies, or I guess the first movie at least, is based off of the ride. Is the Pirates the Caribbean. Like the actual movies are based off of that ride?

Speaker: Yes. Really? i don't understand it. Wow. I'm like, how what? I mean, I guess like I haven't been to Disney World since I was like 15. So I don't know if there like really is like a story that they tell on like the ride. But like, I'm just like, man, they based this movie off of a ride and it turned out to be like the best, like most classic Disney, like adult Disney film.

Speaker: Yeah. in existence you know it made johnny depp's career to a to point yes he was also edward scissorhands before that yeah but like he is he he is iconically jack sparrow yeah yeah so it is mostly his personality yeah but i mean you know jack sparrow in real life as an actor anyway right But like point being, I cannot conceive of how they like created such an amazing, iconic movie out of a fucking ride. Yeah. It's pretty, it's like not even the most exciting ride in the park. I'm pretty sure they came up with a movie of the haunted mansion as well.

Speaker: but Yeah, they did. i don't, it's like I know I haven't seen it. feel like that's a little easier to like, today I don't know. Um, I've seen both. i've Obviously, I've seen both But, like, that was also... I think that movie came out when I was, like, 10 or 11, maybe 12. Which one?

Speaker: The Haunted Mansion one. With Eddie Murphy on it. Not on it. In it. um Anyway. 26 minutes in. It's ah it's our 100th episode.

Speaker: It's our 100th episode, man. Like, that is what we're here to fucking celebrate right It's exciting. Jesus Christ. And we're recording it on the anniversary of when we first launched.

Speaker: The second anniversary. Well, yeah. Specifically. But the date itself is the actual. Exactly two years since we first published our first three episodes.

Speaker: Yep. It was August 13th in 2024. And today, the day of our recording this episode, it is August 13th. Yes, ma'am. Happy anniversary. So this will be posted on Monday, the 17th.

Speaker: um But it is, you know, it's our anniversary, you know, second anniversary birthday of the podcast and our hundredth episode. It lined up perfectly.

Speaker: no And lined up perfectly with your retirement, your final. Yay. so so exciting big fucking day it is it's fun it's exciting we love it um did i didn't tell you but like i was looking at the pattern earlier okay and it had some pretty significant stuff to say okay can i tell you about it yeah it's like your personal stuff right yeah okay

Speaker: Yeah. Okay. So it had to do with the, the eclipse portal yesterday. yeah So that was like, it was an eclipse and a new moon. And I think there was other shit going on, but we're also, um until yesterday we were also in the lion's gate portal too. Yeah. Um, so this was very poignant to me when I read this yesterday, it said, if you're looking to transform your life,

Speaker: If you're hard on yourself or if you're afraid, give it all to the, to this eclipse and ask for its help. Ask it to show you how to love yourself in a way that's so authentic. It's inspiring others to do the same.

Speaker: So it was like the whole transforming your life thing. It was like a big smack in the face. Like, hello, what's more transformative than, you know, retiring and starting a whole new thing. Yeah, dude.

Speaker: So that was awesome. I love that for you. i do too.

Speaker: Sorry. No coughing. Can't help it. I know. Me too. Yeah. um I have some just some statistics.

Speaker: Okay. Let's hear about them. Why is that such a hard word to say? Also, it reminds me of New Girl. um The line, are you the criminals from the statistics?

Speaker: I don't remember that one, but it sounds funny. I can't remember when it happens, but I think it's earlier in the show, so ah it's good. it's like your... Who says it? Schmidt.

Speaker: Oh. Okay. Well, I'm... You like my my what? Your checkerboard print paper that you wrote on. Oh, that's just the back of it. But that's the part I saw. Right.

Speaker: It's just a little back pad. It's cool. It's kind of nothing. i don't know. Okay. ah But thanks, I guess. I never even see it because I'm always looking at this side. Oh, so you peel papers off and they don't have that on the back.

Speaker: correct okay they are just they're not even lined on the back um yes statistics let's hear them we have in grand total as of today as of this evening almost 5 000 downloads amazing i love it yes it's so good because it seems like y'all who are doing that for us y'all yes yes yeah It seemed like just like ah a month ago or two that we still were just about to hit 2000 or something. And all of a sudden they just blew up like, woo. Truly, truly. And I will say like our top month far and away ah for downloads was April of this year. Yeah. 26th.

Speaker: We had 833 downloads in the month of April this year. That's amazing. That's almost a fifth of our total downloads in one single month. Exactly. out of 24 Yep. Ugh.

Speaker: oh incredible what the hell was going on in april that made us popular i want to know i really don't i was watching those statistics while i was just the analytics and i was just like oh my god what the hell but we love it and we want more of it yeah we we spread across the whole world so fast I mean, there's not that many countries that we haven't been downloaded in yet.

Speaker: It's true. And I'm going to get to that. So who here we go. um We're not done. We're nowhere way near done. um Our top three episodes with the most downloads.

Speaker: Our first one, which was also the top ah episode last year when we did this for our first anniversary and our 50th episode.

Speaker: Hmm. this This still remains to be in the lead. it is our Mabon episode from it's number eight. Mabon the Witch's Thanksgiving. It has 140 downloads.

Speaker: Our second ah episode is number 56, Inked and Proud of It. That's 124 downloads.

Speaker: And our number three is our 58th episode, Humanizing Addiction, with our good friend Jim. Nice. That has 89 downloads. And then sliding into fourth, Honorable Mention, is our very first episode, number one, our introduction.

Speaker: It has 88 downloads. Awesome. um so that's pretty fucking sick. And we have top countries and top states. Ooh, yes. Outside of the U.S., because i can't count the U.S., it's ah it's too skewed in the in that direction. There's like well over 3,000 downloads in the U.S. alone.

Speaker: But outside the U.S., Here are our top countries where we have the most downloads. Number one is Vietnam. Wow. 330 downloads.

Speaker: Wow. That's amazing. them I've really been wanting to go to Vietnam one of these days. Yeah. I travel to one of the top states, or excuse me, that is one of the top countries that I would like to visit. Ladies and gentlemen, tequila. Tequila. And please don't be offended by me calling you a state because I would be offended one of the states right now. Okay, our number two top country is Japan.

Speaker: Love it. That's another one. I want to get Downloads. I'm so excited. And our third place is Spain. With 115. Wow. and our third third place is spain hundred and fifteen Oh, wow.

Speaker: And i did honorable mention number four. Number four is China. Holy cow. Oh, my God. That's amazing. fucking say and last but not least, of course, our top states within the U.S. We have ah in our number one slot, Virginia.

Speaker: Wow. With a whopping 568 downloads. Nice. Just bananas. Yeah. And then, unsurprisingly, in our top two slot. Let me guess. that you see I knew it. I was going to say Massachusetts. At 385 downloads. and number three, coming in quite close, honestly, is South Carolina with 381 downloads.

Speaker: wow And I had to come in again with another honorable mention with ah number four being the state of Iowa. Wow. feel old i mean got 371 downloads. Sweet. thank all y'all because without you guys, we would have no following and like, you know, no reason to keep this up.

Speaker: Right. Like it's, it's fun to do. And it's like, you know, of course we're doing this because this is what we enjoy doing. But like, if nobody was listening, I think we would have given up.

Speaker: Well, yeah probably. i have to agree. And i i am just blown away by yeah how many different countries have,

Speaker: yeah all of a sudden i mean like we had we had like ah one in germany we had like one in belgium or something and like we've had several in a lot of there's only there's very few countries where there's only one download at this point um but like we have at the very least every single continent besides antarctica of course this is not even shown on our analytics map but ah Yeah, every single continent, we've got listeners and like, we're just fucking thrilled. um To all y'all who have been listening, who have just recently found us even, but like, you know, anybody in between, like, we are so grateful for you guys. We are, we we think it's so fun to do this. And we think it's so fun that people

Speaker: want to listen to us even though like we're the silliest gooses in existence is in existence um and like i'll reiterate too no matter where you are in the world like send us an email and introduce yourselves like we want to know you Yeah. the The emails we've gotten, we've been like absolutely over the moon about and like we want to keep getting them. And so anytime you feel like, you know, hitting us up, saying hello, suggesting a topic, making a comment about something we talked about, anything like we want to hear from you. So our you know where our email is. But like we just wanted to like reiterate that because like we have such a broad listener base and we think it's fantastic. It's a fucking miracle.

Speaker: Yep. So, yep. Yeah. So I was going to say, like, besides the podcast, we have a Patreon and we have bonus episodes on there, like usually two a month. I think maybe once or twice we might have only done one or something.

Speaker: There was... June we did one and then July we did three. So it is out. All right. So we made up for it. But besides that, Molly does tarot readings on there and blogs, like all kinds of fucking cool shit.

Speaker: So I say go check that out. But I also want to not make promises, but say one thing with more time on my hands now, I'm hoping to try to contribute something to the Patreon as well. Because I have not, other than recording bonus episodes, not done a fucking thing else besides that. That'd be so cool, dude. That'd be so cool. I have, like, so many ideas for bus driver blogs. Like, things I want to write about that I experienced over the years. I love that title. I love that title. Oh my god. You have to do it now.

Speaker: I'm going to try. Good. There are stories I want to tell, but also I also want to write a book too. So I don't know how much I should be putting into like the blog that, you know, like ruining a book. I don't want the book to be all about bus driving though. That's my book. Uh huh.

Speaker: aha I just know there are things that I want to do. And now that I'm going to have more time and energy, i am going to really put an effort into good doing them.

Speaker: Good. who I'm glad. Yeah. Yeah. Oh yeah. Thanks. Thanks for coming along with us, everyone. Yeah. This has been such a goddamn wild ride and it's not over yet.

Speaker: If you've still been with us for two years and you're still interested, then we are eternally grateful. Yes. Yes. Confused and grateful.

Speaker: But still, like, I mean, I guess I shouldn't say we're confused because, like, I certainly really enjoy when I come across podcasts that are goofy like us and that, you know, just have...

Speaker: a wide ass range of topics you never really know what you're gonna get week to week like i really enjoy that and so i guess i shouldn't be surprised um because obviously there are people out there who have the same interests that i do so you know so it's still pretty dope it's pretty great and you know i haven't been able to listen to any podcasts for a while now but like yeah that's about to change oh yeah that's about to change i i have a few that i was like following before that i'm going to be picking right back up on um you know one i referenced a lot ah in the early days of our podcast um

Speaker: yeah trying to remember what the hell it's called because it's been so long oh my god the the skeptic metaphysicians and they you know they had every crazy metaphysicical metaphysical topic under the sun true and i just loved like all the different people they would interview on various topics and i learned so much so i'm just super excited about like getting back into that one um couple other ones and like one I one I had only listened to a couple of and like very interested in listening to more so including Sasquatch Chronicles o oh my god you know that's a favorite of Macy's oh yeah yeah oh yeah I've listened to quite a few of those and they're very intriguing let me tell you i let me tell you that

Speaker: You said what? I said, I believe it. And I hope that you'll make time to listen back to some of ours as well.

Speaker: I will try. ah because that like kind of segues into like, I wanted to like reflect on what some of our favorite podcast episodes we've recorded have been.

Speaker: um, If you want, I'll go first because I don't i told you that i wanted to in advance that I wanted to talk about this and I don't know if you've had the chance to ah think about it. No. No. um But I have a few.

Speaker: And so I wanted to, you know, just shout out to them. Like, obviously, I referenced like the top episodes that we have, you know, that the most listens. And obviously, that's y'all's favorites. I have my own favorites. Some of them coincide.

Speaker: um I definitely really loved having Jim come on. the podcast and talk about his journey with addiction recovery um he has now passed one year of sobriety which is phenomenal i cannot remember if we mentioned that on our public episodes i know we mentioned them on the patreon i'm pretty sure yeah um and kudos to jim congratulations goes to him he's pretty fucking phenomenal i'm really proud of him but like yeah listening back to those was has always been really enjoyable and like

Speaker: he you know it was it was fun to have him on and also just to like generally get to share his sense of humor with you all because he's such a silly silly guy, silly dude.

Speaker: um And he's a lot of fun. So that's one of my favorites for sure. And I've also loved, I was thinking about the summertime vibes last summer no that was just so full of nostalgia and fun stories from our childhoods um like i just really really loved that one i've listened to it a couple times and uh then i was also thinking way back to nearly the beginning

Speaker: yeah our Samhain special the big O as it were

Speaker: that was the longest fucking episode is that the one where we recorded when John was camping yeah and it was my birthday weekend yeah our raw recording of that episode was four more than four hours long holy shit man yeah and and um yeah like oh it was just bananas it was i think the longest episode we've actually published like of all time is still the 2024 on a hottest purpose recap oh yeah um but the sound special

Speaker: gave it a run for its money as well as the outtakes the weekend after that's right oh my god but that was really fun because i know you got sloshed we recorded that and uh we were all over the place but it was a lot of fun so yeah um good old memories our most recent music episode number 79 um I loved that one.

Speaker: The one where we shared music with each other? Mm-hmm, where we had a playlist and we listened to each other's playlists. Mm-hmm. And then, of course, when we've had Eddie Guest on, like, well, I mean, we've had, like, Jim a few times, but we also had our friend Alyssa.

Speaker: That's right. And then another time you had Tom on, and I loved Tom's episode. Yes, Tom's episode was great and we had sierra on the 2024 anahadas episode she was our first ever guest that is true um but yeah and then and then alissa was our first and only like remote guest because all the other guests have been in person with me at least right um but yeah and we'll hopefully have more guests coming

Speaker: I would love to have my friend Krista on. Yeah. She's, she's definitely very, um, in the metaphysical, um, realm. Yeah.

Speaker: Although, and you know, and it's funny because we were talking about stuff and it's like, we definitely have a lot in common and in terms of like the kind of things we believe in stuff. Um,

Speaker: um And i was like, dude, you're a witch. And she's just like, I don't know. I just want to call myself witch. I was like, just do it. So I think that's the exact same conversation I had with Sierra. and probably with me back in the day, too. of. Yeah. You know, i think yours took a little longer just because like, I don't know, I feel like I was like soft introducing you to a lot of stuff.

Speaker: yeah and like the whole term you know being called witch just freaked me out too much for a while yeah i think that's the point it's like i mean that's what happens you know when people first start learning the stuff and like they're just a little resistant to that title but it's fun once you finally shake off all this yeah and shake off all the stereotypes and just embrace it it is so much fun It's true.

Speaker: Indeed. We are out here having fun. Always. Yup. And I have a... hey Technically, i have a verbal contract, a verbal commitment to a friend of mine who I'll tell you later, Christina, more specifics, but ah someone who's coming to town soon and who I have loved for a long time and who I think is one of the most hilarious, entertaining people i know. And I am really looking forward to recording an episode with her.

Speaker: ah to be able to introduce her to everyone so when that drops you'll know you'll know when you hear interesting this is news to me so i know but yeah so her and a few other people as well um i'm just you know it's we've always said like we want to have more guests on and it's just it' in this day and age and also like being adults and also being spread across the whole fucking country it's really hard to um make time and get things scheduled and lined up um but like it's still something we want to keep trying to do so yeah yeah

Speaker: good shit yeah he my goodness yeah um any other uh episodes you have fond memories about oh my goodness i can't really think of anything else right now

Speaker: i loved like our beginnings you know the very you know probably the first 20 or 30 there was just so many and mean it was a lot of iconic moments yeah It was so fresh and new, you know? Yeah, that's true. That's very true. it's ah It's definitely like, I don't know. It's not like, I don't want to say i that we like take it for granted necessarily, but like we definitely have gotten into a bit of a routine and it feels ah very familiar to pop it on to record. But like, I remember back when it what it still felt, yeah, like you said, fresh and new.

Speaker: And it was just like, really like, exhilarating, really. And I feel like I was full of more like jokes and humor. and then as I got used to things and got used to being like opening up and like, I don't know, probably got more serious and I'm not as fun anymore.

Speaker: oh that's not true shut the fuck up that's not true i'm just an old bitch no who no it's um i mean like it has gotten easier to be more vulnerable for sure you know it's like maybe it is kind of a little bit of that feeling of like If I think about it too much, I like freak out a little bit about the kind of stuff that I've shared. But like yeah ultimately, like at the end of the day, our listeners have been and I assume for the most part will continue to be, like the same kind of like open-minded, like good-hearted people that we are and the kind of community that we...

Speaker: hope to continue to cultivate and you know that's the kind of community that i feel comfortable opening up to very true yeah all that to say like it's yeah it has gotten easier to be vulnerable and i don't think that's really going change um you know i i really I like how comfortable I've been being able to just like say whatever I need to say to everybody. Yeah. lessons

Speaker: It's great. So, yeah. Yeah. Hmm. Well, dear ma, dear sweet ma.

Speaker: Yes. Dear sweet ma. Any more final remarks? Yes, ma'am.

Speaker: I think that now, like also because of the retirement thing, we may be able to open up and get even more personal in terms of like topics that we might discuss.

Speaker: You know what I'm saying? Intriguing. Then one that we've had on our list for a long time that we have not touched yet. Okay. You don't remember?

Speaker: I can't. I don't have our list memorized. Oh my god. Okay. So anyway, i will tell you as soon as we hang up on the podcast here. Yeah, but I think that like, you know, if I'm not,

Speaker: if i'm no longer a member of ah the public school slash state of Michigan employee list then I might have know might be able to become a little bit more open about things that I've been through or experienced in life and true that's true yeah there's the one in particular that I know you will be excited that we can finally record evil cackle

Speaker: yeah yeah but yes i i catch your drift now indeed so that's my final thought cool more things better things to come in the in the near future here fuck yeah

Speaker: oh yeah and i guess i want to wrap up this episode with uh a motherfucking mad lib oh no way yes way bitch all right we are going to have a few options for you and our first option is the comeback kid our second option is story of a one-hit wonder and our third option is albert einstein one-hit wonder one-hit wonder
