Edgar and Daryll: Yeah. um and Okay. Well, and with that, let's hop into our... Week 16 recap. In the semifinal, we had the best friend matchup for the third time this week. I had mentioned that Lightning doesn't strike three times in one spot. And just like that, Romo, Darryl went down like the points his two quarterbacks put in this week.
Edgar and Daryll: Edgar's Kitchen was cooking as James Cook continues to cook up those touchdowns. Both Burrow and Lawhead had great games as the rest of Darryl's team faltered. There was not enough Bijon mustard to save Darryl from that spoiled sandwich his team built this week.
Edgar and Daryll: Then we had last place versus first place. Tom versus McGuire. Max only beat Tom by less than 20 points. Tom decided to not play the people he traded for, which cost him his Christmas miracle of a run. McGuire now heads back to the finals in the hopes to finally break the commissioner's curse.
Edgar and Daryll: Then in the sacko, things got spicy. As Nere versus Troy and Carlos versus Andrew started off as a close together as you hold your cheeks after eating a bowl of spicy chili. But the dam finally broke when Andrew started to pull away to send...
Edgar and Daryll: Carlos to the sackle. Trevor Lawrence continued to bail out Nere as the poo-poo platter of a team he managed as escape by. And Tyler Warren shared their way for the second half of the game to finally let Nere at rest and save him from his own sackle dynasty.
Edgar and Daryll: Carlos and Troy now face off in the sackle. Slash, who won the trade matchup as one will have to take on... taken up what oh there's one who had to take of running as their new year's resolution and name I might have to take up some English classes

Daryll Garcia: So Sacco, so it was, first of all, it was Andrew versus Carlos versus Nerith versus Troy. And Troy and Carlos ended up losing.
Daryll Garcia: And so now they are going to be in the Sacco Bowl.
Edgar and Daryll: Well, they were already in the Sacco Bowl technically, right?
Daryll Garcia: And then, well, they were, yeah, I guess so.
Edgar and Daryll: Like the whole, what's the Sacco and now the championship.
Daryll Garcia: The true Sacco Bowl.

Daryll Garcia: Exactly, exactly. i and and know you guys talked about this in the last pod, so, mean, you know, you win it to lose it, and you lose it to win it, you know, right?

Edgar and Daryll: I love it. We also, in the last part, um you know, we thought that it was going to be Troy versus Andrew and Carlos versus Nerev.

Edgar and Daryll: It turned out that it wasn't the case. But at the same time, it wouldn't have mattered if that was the case because the same outcome would have happened. Right?

Daryll Garcia: right, so it's kind of crazy. So Andrew put up a whopping 161. If he was not in the SACO, and it's like, you know, just a regular playoff game, he would have won and beat everyone because he was the highest scorer that week.
Daryll Garcia: And then you had Nareth second in the SACO, first SACO round at 142. Carlos, actually Troy had 139, and then Carlos had 135. So good job, Andrew. Andrew.
Edgar and Daryll: Nice.
Daryll Garcia: so good job andrew
Edgar and Daryll: ah Yeah, yeah. you Good job, Andrew. A little too late. um It doesn't matter about you could have beaten anybody this week because you couldn't have beaten me or the people that made it um to the finals last week.
Daryll Garcia: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: It wouldn't matter.

Edgar and Daryll: wouldn't matter. um But yeah, it's crazy that both Carlos and Troy are down there. I think that comment continues to haunt Troy. Have fun playing for second place. But

Daryll Garcia: Yeah. Hopefully he doesn't get second place in this echo, right?
Edgar and Daryll: Correct. Yeah, yeah.

Edgar and Daryll: For sure. um And then, of course, in the the semifinal, right, it was me and you, and then it was McGuire and Tom. And how did that go down?
Daryll Garcia: We don't really have to talk about it. We don't really have to talk about it, but I guess we will. but ah
Edgar and Daryll: What happened to your team?
Daryll Garcia: Oh my goodness. My team said two quarterback league. No quarterback league. ah I scored actually the lowest out of everyone this week.
Daryll Garcia: And both my quarterbacks decided not to play football.
Edgar and Daryll: yeah yep
Daryll Garcia: um Jordan Love decided to get hit in the head. And jason ah Jackson Dart was a shot in the dart.
Edgar and Daryll: hey there you go dad jokes ready yeah
Daryll Garcia: And yeah, right. and Then ah he played against Minnesota and did horrible.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah, I didn't see the game. I actually didn't see it, but um but yeah, I saw the result.
Daryll Garcia: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: i well I don't think there's none that didn't see it. So like I have like Red Zone going. i just did didn't show a lot of that game, and it makes sense because there wasn't a lot going on, at least on the Jackson Dart side of things, right?
Daryll Garcia: Yeah, it was horrible.
Edgar and Daryll: m um Yeah, well, my my team didn't do amazing. um Obviously, Hendo got hurt, and I'm really hoping that he makes it back this week because he also had a concussion.
Daryll Garcia: Mm-hmm.
Edgar and Daryll: but um And Maguire's team has the last couple weeks has been doing good, but he hasn't made his projections, which is good for everybody, right? um so And then, of course, we had Maguire and Tom.
Edgar and Daryll: and ah And Tom had, he had a chance. He truly, truly had a chance. I don't know if you saw the matchup, but.
Daryll Garcia: i I did.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Daryll Garcia: i kept up with it as much as I could. But the the one thing that stood out was, you know, I don't think it was going to be as close. But then Monday night came and Brock Purdy and the Niners just put up a a fun, fun game for us to watch.
Edgar and Daryll: yeah
Daryll Garcia: Really, I didn't expect Phillip Rivers to do that that well.
Edgar and Daryll: Well, yeah. mean, you know, it's the old man's strength. But to me, like, I understand Michael Carter potentially, right? But I wouldn't have put in Michael Carter.
Edgar and Daryll: Instead, I would have put in Warren. and Like, that's who you traded for, right?
Daryll Garcia: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: Like, I feel like you got to play, you got to put your best lineup out there, right? And Michael Carter was not, to me, was not the best, the best decision, right? And and i know that's probably going hunt him because if he had put in Warren,
Edgar and Daryll: instead Carter, right, and you play Gainwell and Warren, which both of them are very startable, have been very startable every single week, he would have had it. He would have had McGuire. and that And that would have been it, right?
Daryll Garcia: yeah
Edgar and Daryll: That would have been it. And sorry, Tommy, we don't want to put some salt in that wound, but well why? Why? Yeah.
Daryll Garcia: yeah I'll tell you what, ah Atlanta's defense have actually been stepping up a little bit, and I think I agree.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Daryll Garcia: It would have been a little bit hard for me to put in Michael Carter, but then again, I'm not sure what Warren and Gainemar have been doing lately. I haven't been paying attention to them, but I mean, and in hindsight.
Edgar and Daryll: I mean, I have because I you know i want to make sure that whoever I give traits to, they're doing well, right? So that you know this week, last week he had 29 points. Then he had 7.9, which I understand he didn't get a lot, right?
Edgar and Daryll: But he still had 12 attempts and then 15 points and 12 points and 12 points, right Which is solid, especially if you pair him up with caninwell and Gainwell.
Daryll Garcia: is.

Edgar and Daryll: And Gainwell's been doing actually even better than him. But to me, like, it was too big of a swing for for you to put in Carter against, like you said, i think the Falcons defense has been pretty pretty good.
Edgar and Daryll: um So, yeah, it was it was a little bit of an odd decision. But, like, he wasn't supposed to be there. Now he's going against you this week for third place, and he can still get his money back.
Edgar and Daryll: He could win, right?

Daryll Garcia: I'll tell you what. The best thing you have going for you is that Maguire has some very tough matchups this this week. Yeah.

Daryll Garcia: So Jameson Williams has the number one defense for wide receivers in Minnesota. And then you have JSN, who's been fairly unstoppable, but it's the Carolina Panthers defense that wants to show up sometimes. It's that Jekyll and Hyde defense, you know.
Edgar and Daryll: do
Edgar and Daryll: I hear you. So, I mean, and i disagree i don't disagree. don't disagree. And I think that as long as the sun god, Corlin Sutton, James Cook show up, right, and Joe Burrow, and same thing with Bo Nix, like I think i think i have a chance.
Edgar and Daryll: um We'll it have to see. We'll have to see what happens. But either way, Like I said, I'm i'm grateful, you know, and and it's been fun. It's been fun to do this podcast with you.
