Edgar and Daryll: you know we had our draft early in september labor day weekend um have the most I was a little more than half the league was here. The other half was gallivanting in Greece. and uh wherever else they were at you know but

Edgar and Daryll: All right, so... We had our draft. um We want to give you a kick a quick little overview of the rules, right? We have two keepers three keeper penalty if it's like a 10 extra dollar i don't did anybody a couple people kept
Tom: Yep.
Edgar and Daryll: Someone, right?
Tom: I think a couple of people kept.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah for like 10x
Tom: We are a little delayed on the first podcast guys, so I don't fully remember everything
Edgar and Daryll: Yes. Yeah. We were also, ah we had some adult drinks that day and and half of us were kind of sleeping on the couch, just kind of waiting for things to happen.
Tom: Heh.
Edgar and Daryll: we So we have three wide receivers, two quarterbacks. So we're super. super flex Two running backs. We don't play with kickers because... you know.
Edgar and Daryll: Why would you?
Tom: We're legit.
Edgar and Daryll: We're legit. Yeah. However, we do have a really deep bench of eight spots.
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah. Which we had to change. like This week. What was the change, Tom?
Tom: So... Well. The text messages got a little little dicey.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: Um, But I believe everyone voted to reduce. Bench spots by one. Then there was conversations about adding another IR.
Edgar and Daryll: Mm hmm.
Tom: Spot. which then led to another conversation about having two IR spots and then one dropping off. mid -season.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: So there's probably some...
Edgar and Daryll: But...
Tom: cleanup we have to do on that but
Edgar and Daryll: for For sure. But I think... At a minimum it looks like we're going to be dropping one bench pot. For sure.
Tom: Yeah. It seems like most people, super majority are on board for that. And I think especially seeing the waiver wires. the last couple weeks.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: um
Edgar and Daryll: And we're like the government, right? like We have to have a supermajority to pass things around here.
Tom: Yeah. Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah. And we just haven't been able to.
Tom: And I do think. Yeah. And something like that. Because I know we talked about voting during draft. But then draft day, we usually just want to draft. and you know. get that started.
Tom: And sometimes we don't remember how tough the waiver wire is until.
Edgar and Daryll: Yep.
Tom: We're in the thick of it.
Edgar and Daryll: Oh, yeah.
Tom: So on this one, I do think we should probably vote.
Edgar and Daryll: We're in the thick of it.
Tom: in season on this.
Edgar and Daryll: I agree.
Tom: And then have it start next year.
Edgar and Daryll: yeah for sure and one of the things that i throw out which is what you mentioned was So right now we have one IR slot. Daryl, who's our injury expert of the season so far. He... uh his players are like just riddled with injuries and he was talking about two ir slots which i don't hate but i was also thinking when i just have two ir spots for half the season in and then At the next half, you you drop off one IR slot.
Edgar and Daryll: Right.
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: and then it makes things kind of interesting because you can keep early injuries in your team. But you shouldn't be able to keep I don't think you should be able to keep them the whole entire season maybe make some changes.
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: So who knows? It's something that we can chat about later on. but that's kind of our our setup just for those of you guys who are joining us and uh kind of know a little bit about our league already um Now, on draft night...
Edgar and Daryll: like i said half of us were there half of us were not uh which team do you think had like the better team coming out the draft. like not looking at what the draft rates were, just in general what you remember.
Tom: Um. Yeah. I mean, McGuire. like He seems to always have... like one of the best draft classes.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah, yeah, for sure.
Tom: Um, And I think it's the same this year. And I think. So far, his team's kind of Shown that? i don't
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: you know. um You know, just going through our notes, I think we disagree. I think Romo had. the worst draft Class.
Edgar and Daryll: Oh, you did? it Okay.
Tom: And then I think Daryl was... Second worst?
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: So we all learned Be focused on your draft. um
Edgar and Daryll: Don't drop the Chipotle.
Tom: Don't have scheduling conflicts.
Edgar and Daryll: Mmm.
Tom: Don't drop that Chipotle. um
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: But both those guys are very active. managers. So You know, I don't think being 0 -3.
Edgar and Daryll: It's going to be too much of an issue.
Tom: yeah they they'll They'll get some wins.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah, well, maybe. Romo probably will. Daryl needs to do some work, that's for sure. I mean, I think that... Narith kind of surprised me as far as like top.
Edgar and Daryll: uh class now his team Kind of funny, he just kind of drafted similar to last year. yeah it's like he just wanted everybody he had in the same team as last year uh like henry and I mean, like JJ and and...
Edgar and Daryll: i don't know his team was like half the same but this year they were doing pretty well
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: And for me, Daryl, I think had the worst team. Next to... I mean, I didn't think Romo's was terrible, but it's funny because like our draft grades.
Edgar and Daryll: had mcguire as number one nara's number two Right? Carlos and Andrew, narrowed Carlos and Andrew as A minuses in McGuire. So they were all kind of like similar.
Edgar and Daryll: Romo, Troy, me, and you had bees. and daryl had a c and then they gave alejandro An F. Right. But.
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: Alejandro Herrera. ah Who does he have, right? Who did he draft?
Tom: i You know...
Edgar and Daryll: Gibbs?
Tom: Alejandro's drafting strategy. perplexes me every single year. But I feel like every year he starts extremely hot. and is always like a playoff contender.
Edgar and Daryll: He does.
Tom: And. But I feel like after the first three picks he sits for a while But yet his team is...
Edgar and Daryll: That's all he does.
Tom: it's I'm perplexed every year by Alejandro's draft tragedy.
Edgar and Daryll: It works. I mean he...

Edgar and Daryll: great Yeah. You know, he has Gibbs and Josh Allen. Those two guys alone.
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: I've given them. 80 points. It's the start of the week, right?
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: and it's And it's been insane. Now, we had a trade early in the season where I gave him Christian Watson. and shriveling and then he gave me bull necks. and And at first I was thinking, man, I, you know. I got him.
Edgar and Daryll: I got this guy, right? He threw me and got hurt.
Tom: Yep.
Edgar and Daryll: ah I don't know what Watson's going to be. I don't know what Stripling's going to be. But now in... In the grand scheme of things, I kind of wish I kept... Christian Watson. My boys bring me. Crazy.
Tom: Yeah. Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: Right. so ah So who initially I thought I won the trade and then I feel like Alejandro probably won the trade. yeah so it's been
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: It's been interesting.
Tom: Okay.
Edgar and Daryll: But that's the team who surprised me. Out of everybody and I think it's probably the same for The whole entire league.
Tom: Yeah, I mean, there's a lot of surprises this year. i mean Um, You know, I know I'm a little biased towards this person. in a hatred way but carlos
Edgar and Daryll: okay
Tom: Like he's closer to the bottom scoring teams. Then he is the second.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: Like. Best score. like win record team.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: Which is...
Edgar and Daryll: That's true.
Tom: So like his record doesn't really match up to like what his team has performed.
Edgar and Daryll: No.
Tom: um but he's gotten very Favorable matchups.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: So I can't wait for his team to...
Edgar and Daryll: We did.
Tom: Crash and burn.
Edgar and Daryll: Well, it did, right? It did. It did mean. a better team last week. and and
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: uh, you know we kind of saw his team kind of falter a little bit But.
Tom: sour, if you will.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah, yeah. So, you know, just to we'll give you guys a quick recap. but ah I usually do like a like a recap of every week, but I'm gonna try to do it.
Edgar and Daryll: I'm going to try to do a three week recap. ah so So we'll see how it goes.
Tom: Buckle in.
Edgar and Daryll: Hopefully I drink enough water. But let's see if I can get this going. Here we go. All right. Hmm. Let's do this. Oh wait, that that's the wrong drop. That's the wrong drop, dude. What happened? Oh.
Edgar and Daryll: oh Thank you. Thank you. over We already started strong. It's been a while, guys. it's been yeah oh boy okay here i got it right here i got it right here
Tom: The double drop.
Edgar and Daryll: it was The double drum.
Edgar and Daryll: All right, for the weekly update, we're doing this a little different frame because today we got a three -week recap. We start with Edgar, who dropped his first two matches of the season. Week one was a close one against Andrew the Fox, who was out in Europe looking for European cooties, only to find out apparently you have to pay for those. Despite the extracurricular activities, Andrew squeezed out the win. Edgar's second loss came in week two against Tom, who casually dropped his second 160 -point game of the season. And speaking of Tom, his first win came in week one against Daryl.
Edgar and Daryll: Darryl's team was still healthy and at that point, but somehow still wasn't enough to squeeze out what might have been his only chance at a win this season. By week three, Darryl's team was absolutely decimated by injuries, and his BFF Edgar took full advantage, handing Darryl his straight third loss.
Edgar and Daryll: Meanwhile, Tom just kept rolling. In week three, he took down the commish, McGuire, handing him his first loss of the season. McGuire had started 2 -1 -0 after beating Alejandro's two -man wrecking crew of Josh Allen and Gibbs in week one, then handing the Foxes first loss in week two. And apparently that loss broke Andrew, because the Fox followed up with another loss in week three, this time against Nerve, who finally picked up his first win in the season after losing to Troy in week one. and alejandro's two -man army in week two and that brings up troy just like tom who remains undefeated thanks to apparently owing every number one wide receiver and running back in the nfl including a few more sitting in his darn bench troy barely escaped week one with less than two points and then apparently decided he was done playing with his food he destroyed roman week two and carlos in week three two teams said that apparently forgot they were supposed to show up and actually play football Now Carlos, the Stritcher's Schindler, somehow managed to collect two wins, both against the only winless team in the league, Daryl and Romo. Then week three came on around. Carlos finally met a real team, and Troy sent his butt right back to the Stritcher's stand. And finally, we arrive at the basement. There's honestly not much to say about our two bottom teams. One of them has a booty for a face and lost three games. Week three was the first time he actually decided to show up and somehow still walked away with a big foul. and then daryl at this point his team needs to be investigated because every man of the roster is hurt
Edgar and Daryll: Oh, we will officially be opening an investigation to determine whether Darren himself is somehow responsible for his historic injury pandemic. Oh my gosh. All right. Well, I'm just going to wrap it up with Tom and Troy undefeated. Romo and Daryl still searching for a sign of life and everybody else is somewhere in the middle.
Edgar and Daryll: Oh my gosh, and that's a three -week recap. sho

Edgar and Daryll: Mhm.

Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: We have... McGuire 2 -1.
Edgar and Daryll: Okay.
Tom: Pooka.
Edgar and Daryll: Well, that's me.
Tom: Cool.
Edgar and Daryll: And that's me.
Tom: What did you do?
Edgar and Daryll: yeah yeah yeah
Tom: Two in all over the world, one and two.
Edgar and Daryll: Yep, yep.
Tom: We got Daryl at the 0 -3.
Edgar and Daryll: Sheeple guy.
Tom: All right, Division Callaway. We got Troy 3 -0.
Edgar and Daryll: Mm hmm.
Tom: Alejandro, two and one.
Edgar and Daryll: Yep.
Tom: Carlos 2 -1. He shouldn't be.
Edgar and Daryll: Surprise.
Tom: ah We gotta scatter all the... Oboe way back at one and two.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Tom: And Romo. at 0 and 3.
Edgar and Daryll: Yes.
Tom: Mr. Booty cheeks himself.
Edgar and Daryll: Yes. Yeah. and you know I do think that the number one spot going to you, it's you deserve it, right? Sometimes we have some 3 -0 guys or undefeated individuals that don't.
Edgar and Daryll: show off, but... um I mean, And Maguire had a good week, so he kind of overpassed you. surpassed you. uh in points by just a little bit but you're up there your second highest scorer
Tom: Mm hmm.
Edgar and Daryll: you know And you also have a ah lot of points. uh against you so You know, you you've you come out there and you... you know, you made. Good decisions. Um... And so has McGuire. McGuire is, you know, surprisingly, he's 2 -1. He probably should be.
Edgar and Daryll: 3 -0, but I think he played against... um Some good. teams that just slightly hitched them out. So... Like you said, Carlos probably shouldn't be 2 -1. He has, I think he's the lowest.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah, he is the lowest points against. And he's one of the lowest points for her, but... You know, he'll he only beat the two and the three note or the 0 -3 teams.
Tom: Correct.
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: So that kind of tells you where he's at. You know?
Tom: <unk>s He's the last year of Patriots. Easy schedule.
Edgar and Daryll: Yes, so yeah, he's Candyland. What about... Any matchups that you're looking for this week? Anything?
Tom: Honestly, this week. I'm really excited for this week. I think week four. It's kind of that week where... teams are kind of settling in Um... you know it's kind of I'm not saying it's a make or break week.
Edgar and Daryll: I do.
Tom: for some teams. but Um... You know, I think the NFL teams. Get better.
Edgar and Daryll: Mhm.
Tom: um you know now we have injuries settling in and stuff like that so i think this is a pretty fun week especially looking at some of the matchups um you know I think they're all pretty.
Tom: Competitive? Most of them. Um,
Edgar and Daryll: yeah Yeah, maybe Romo and maybe Nereid will... be Romo pretty big because Romo still has a lot of His team looks a little rough as well, right? He's playing.
Edgar and Daryll: a Bill. As a running back and... Waller in his tight end position. but um And then let's look at Carlo. Well, Daryl's team looks a little rough against...
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: McGuire, right?
Tom: And Troy's team, you know, being 3 -0. He lost 8chan.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: um He's got a pretty tough matchup.
Edgar and Daryll: He does, against me.
Tom: Um, Yeah, I didn't want to say it but... So that's going to be a fun one. I think that that'll be it. Good one to watch.

Tom: Yeah, I mean... yeah it's it's a fun lineup to look at because like if your players perform to what their standard. you're going to be safe.

Tom: And then Troy kind of needs some players to maybe perform a little bit better than their norm. Um.

Tom: And he has the players that can do that, you know.

Tom: Um, Yeah. Kenneth Walker has been. absolutely phenomenal and might be the best.

Tom: um So I think that's a fun matchup. I think I have. kind of the more name brand. players per se.

Tom: that again, similar to your matchup. where if they perform to their standard you know, Bijan. McBride. Um...

Edgar and Daryll: So... It's not bad. I mean, maybe he comes back in four weeks and he looks great. I just stashed him in my team. i didn't I didn't dislike the trade, but... uh i would have liked if it would have came back in two weeks not four but it's okay good job rumo
