Edgar and Daryll: ah The Make-A-Wish Foundation brought them all the way to the playoffs. We have our boy, Tommy. Tommy J. hi are you, Tom?
Tom: from worst to worst in the playoffs, baby.
Edgar and Daryll: um
Tom: Let's go.
Edgar and Daryll: Oh, man. What it's what a wild season, dude. Last place.
Tom: What? Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: la you You were in last place.
Tom: I did it. You know, we had the discussion of this happening and I was like, you know
Edgar and Daryll: Mm-hmm.
Tom: let me try Let me try it.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah, I love it. You know, ah I mean, and this is why some people love wild cards, right? And this is a big, this is why we did it. It's to allow those who essentially feel like they have no more no more hope to have hope.
Tom: Yeah, yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: And here you are with hope. Oh, man. How are you feeling?
Tom: I feel really great about it. I mean, going from worse pretty much entire season to the playoffs is phenomenal.
Edgar and Daryll: Okay. Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: Of course.
Tom: I wish the other people or other people in the wild card spoke up more because they got to feel like crap, you know?
Edgar and Daryll: yeah. 100%. 100%. and oh Yeah. yeah. Well,
Tom: Which is always like the the other argument of the conversation. you can you know mess up someone else's season by by this happening but
Edgar and Daryll: yeah
Edgar and Daryll: oh yeah what is well Well, yeah, and I spoke about it in the and the other podcast where, like, why do we have a first week buy for first place?
Tom: you
Edgar and Daryll: Like, why not have the same for the SACO, right? ah Then you would automatically be into the SACO, but also give, instead of going against five people, you go against four people.
Edgar and Daryll: um But I don't know. I mean, look, it worked out. You don't have to.
Tom: Listen, it gives us more information to go into next off season to talk about maybe a rule change or changing up how we do the the wild card.
Edgar and Daryll: Okay, so so you being the bottom team, right? Making it out of the wild – making it into the wild card, right?
Tom: Yep.
Edgar and Daryll: And also it kind of like talking about not necessarily saying like, hey, you deserve – you don't deserve to be where you're at, which I'm not saying that.
Tom: Yep.
Edgar and Daryll: um But just seeing how your your season went and potentially giving McGuire an easier path to the final. And I'm not saying you're going to because I believe. you know I believe. um But what are your thoughts on, like, okay, should we have had last place go straight into the sackle or, you know, let's keep the same thing because at the end the day, like, it's just it's just fantasy, right? Yeah.
Tom: I mean, it's tough. It's probably going take a little while to digest it and really think back at it.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: I think it, I think with the wild card and motivated a lot of people too, because I know there was other people, i mean, I'll mention, you know, Carlos was all about the wild card, you know last like three weeks, he was just like waiting for the wild card a week.
Edgar and Daryll: Sure. a Yeah.
Tom: He went pretty, pretty quiet. I will say over the last few days, and I don't know what happened.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: I'm sure he's busy, but yeah,
Edgar and Daryll: Sure.
Tom: So it definitely motivated me to make more trades and also structure my team for, you know, this past week's run, you know, win this week, avoid the sackle completely and just make it to the playoffs, you know.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: Now,
Tom: So for for me, from anything from here on is gravy, you know.
Edgar and Daryll: For sure. But okay, so here's the thing, right? Like you and Carlos were tied in ah record.
Tom: Yep.
Edgar and Daryll: Okay. what do you Would it have motivated you more to want to win the last three weeks to not be in that guaranteed sackle instead of like preparing?
Edgar and Daryll: Like i understand you were preparing for the sackle, right?
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: But Like you wanted to give yourself a chance to be out of this echo or or like to come out of the wildcard. Right. um And that's kind my argument.
Tom: Yeah. I guess i I, to be blunt, I probably have to think about it more, but my goal is always to try to be have the best team for this past week to to make it to the playoffs.
Edgar and Daryll: Sure.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: Cause anything can happen. Like we've seen it, right? And we saw it last week, right? I mean, um I'll be the first one to admit it.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah, 44 points, forty whatever for Calvin.
Tom: I didn't think my team would have it in it, you know, like like how it did, which obviously Kyle Pitts was the main factor in that.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: For sure. Well, Drake London, um not being there, i think makes big difference, right?
Tom: um
Tom: Correct. Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: um you I mean, you and I tried to – I asked you for Drake London a couple weeks ago.
Tom: Yes. Yes.
Edgar and Daryll: ah and and I said, hey, like you know take a chance. right If you give him to me, ill I'll take the risk of him not being in the playoffs.
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: And you said, no, because he might be, and didn't pan out.
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: right
Tom: Correct. Correct.
Edgar and Daryll: um you see I don't know if he's supposed to. I haven't kept up. Is he supposed to play?
Tom: He's projected to play. like I moved him out my IR because I was making some roster moves and he is questionable. Projected like 18 points. we I mean, he's had some really big games this season, so...
Edgar and Daryll: Sure.
Tom: but You know, to your point, I probably wish I did have Watson over the last few weeks, you know.
Edgar and Daryll: Sure. Yeah, for sure.
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: No, I agree. Well, okay. so with So with that, let me, yeah let's, we'll talk about like our, we'll talk about like the matchups, what had happened with the wild card.
Edgar and Daryll: ah But let's just go over the, you know, the week 15 recap. and and then you, if you want to read the notes that, yeah.
Tom: but
Edgar and Daryll: They was like, oh, I want someone else to take a look at it. ah But yeah, so let me let me go ahead and let me find the draft.
Tom: And just for the people that haven't been on this show and seen the notes, these are the wildest notes I've ever seen.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: It's basically just a giant paragraph, no spacing. No wonder he messes up these recaps so much.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah, yeah, sometimes I just, I'm like, I jump into like line four from like six.
Tom: Zero separation, zero anything structure on these notes.
Edgar and Daryll: They're all run-on sentences, you know? They're all just thoughts, okay? Well, let's get into the let's get into the Week 15 Recap. This week was the first round of playoffs. After Romo's loss to Edgar in golf, he believed his week would go better as had second strongest team coming into the playoffs.
Edgar and Daryll: Romo came out swinging as he scored his second highest point total of the season. Little did he know that Edgar, along with the Sun God, would also score his highest score of the season. In a matchup that began with Nicole Collins growing in the first five minutes of the game, the points were flowing all night long. Romo's season came to an end at the same time his Cowboy season and also came to the end.
Edgar and Daryll: Romo now looks forward to picking up a hobby as he looks to regroup and begin his research for the 2026 season. Then we had Darryl versus Alejandro. Darryl started off hot with a commanding lead to start the afternoon games. Alejandro stated that he was not worried as his superstar Gibbs and Adams had not played yet.
Edgar and Daryll: Both Adams and Gibbs combined for a crazy 20 points versus Almond Rock 41 points. It would appear that the trade came back to haunt Alejandro when it mattered the most. And Alejandro did not Gibbs it to Darryl.
Edgar and Daryll: McBride continues to put up a team on his back as he scored 37 points along with B. John's 29 points to put the dagger in Alejandro's season. Robin, make sure to hold him tight.
Edgar and Daryll: Then the wild card started off with a bang from Kyle Pitts.
Tom: Thank you.
Edgar and Daryll: It only took four years to hype this man up to have the best game of his season and put the rest of the four wild card contenders into a downworld spiral. But look out, never had Trevor Lawrence, who put up 44 points. Unfortunately, the rest of his team was a poo-poo platter that couldn't even lock him into second place in the wild card.
Edgar and Daryll: Then on Monday night, Andrew's team was going for a Christmas miracle as he inches his way towards Tom the way Randall inches his way up the hall at recess. Unfortunately for him, it was not enough as he makes his way to the sack hole.
Edgar and Daryll: Carlos was also hoping that he could make a run, but unfortunately for him, just like Lamar, his run was not enough as he fell to second to last in the wildcard run. And finally, Troy also attempted to make a move, but just like his early season comment of have fun playing for a second, he must admit that he was not going to be in the playoffs as he's currently sitting in first place, but in the upside down.
Edgar and Daryll: And that was a week 15 recap. All right. Yeah.
Tom: Awesome.
Edgar and Daryll: yeah There you go. See? Got to do it for the people.
Tom: All
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah. It probably takes me like 20 minutes to write this. It doesn't take super long.
Tom: right.
Edgar and Daryll: All right. Yeah. So, um but, you know, it's just...
Tom: I can tell by the grammar.
Edgar and Daryll: and Oh, we appreciate it, Tom. Well, let's let's talk about the SACO. um
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: So since you were in there, what what um other than obviously Cowpits, what kind of surprised you the most out of everything, whether that's a good thing or a bad thing?
Tom: Yeah. So going into the weekend after kyle Pitts on Thursday night, which for the people that don't know, Kyle Pitts put up 45 points on Thursday night, which, you know, four years in the making,
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: Wild.
Edgar and Daryll: I'm sure everybody knows.
Tom: which is funny. I was actually looking back at some of the previous transactions. Like he was actually on, I believe Carlos's team at one point.
Edgar and Daryll: He was.
Tom: So for Carlos talking so much about being on, a I'm playing for the wild card position.
Edgar and Daryll: Mm-hmm.
Tom: Like if, you know, if he had kept them, you know, Carlos would be in this position, not me. um
Edgar and Daryll: Mm-hmm.
Tom: So obviously I went into the weekend pretty, pretty calm. I was like, you know, I'll, I'll check after the first, you know, early afternoon games.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: But then the group chat started going off and I was like, oh, shit oh oh crap.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: You know, let let me take a look.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: And then I was like, all right, Trevor Lawrence is giving me a run for my money.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: And, you know, Andrew, Carlos, like it was pretty competitive, which which I think that was the over part of our league this year was it was very competitive this year.
Edgar and Daryll: It was. Yeah. There was like no clear. I mean, there was, we started to like differentiate ourselves a little more presented the season, but yeah, the whole entire year, it was competitive to include like you guys at the model.
Tom: Yeah.
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: Like everybody had a chance at some point.
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: And that's good you're right that's kind of how the wild card went, right And i honestly, like I also thought Nared was going to have a better game because Lorenz had this monster 44-point game.
Edgar and Daryll: But Darceau's team is just not great.
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: um yeah So with him, now now the matchups that we have, we have... Nareth versus Carlos, right? And then Andrew versus Troy.
Edgar and Daryll: but Basically, all the all the all the brown people are going to see against the brown people, the white people are going against the white people, and that's including in like the actual regular playoffs, which is kind of funny.
Edgar and Daryll: um But not by this side, not by this side.
Tom: That was not by design.
Edgar and Daryll: It just kind of guarantees that there's going to be at least one brown person in the final against one white person.
Tom: Yeah.
Tom: We are diversified is what we are as a league.
Edgar and Daryll: that That's right. Yeah, that's right. We diversified it. But what do you think about Nared versus Carlos matchup? Like, does Nared have a chance?
Tom: Man, I've been looking at it to kind of,
Tom: as much as I hate to say it, because I've had my issues with this person this year. And, you know, overall, since I've known him, I do like Carlos's team more.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: Mm-hmm.
Tom: And I think part of that, too, is he has a good amount of players that are on teams that still need to win.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: So in that sense, I would lean towards Carlos over Narek this week.
Edgar and Daryll: Okay.
Tom: But not not to say I don't like nervous team I think it's phenomenal. But Justin Jefferson, you know, obviously very bad year for him, not his fault.
Edgar and Daryll: Horrendous.
Tom: um
Edgar and Daryll: But McCarthy's turning it up.
Tom: But, you know, yeah, I mean, listen, anything can happen.
Edgar and Daryll: He's playing better.
Tom: We've seen it every year of fantasy football every week.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: So, you know, I hope, I hope they have a good matchup. You know, I hope it's not a blowout. I hope it's, I hope it comes down to the wire.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah, I think the same thing. i mean, I would take Carlos over Nere at this point, but i think it's just because, yes, Nere had a good week last week, but he had a good week with one player, and it was like and it wasn't a good week.
Tom: Yep.
Edgar and Daryll: It was just an average week. And then for your team to have an average week with such a heavy like dose of one individual putting up all those points, um it's just kind of the way his season's been.
Tom: Yeah.
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: like it's not It's either like Michael Wilson, is nice isn it mike michael wilson the wide receiver for the Cardinals, I think is his name.
Tom: Yeah.
Tom: Yeah, yep.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah, so it's either been him, right, putting up a bunch of points.
Tom: Yeah.
Tom: Yep.
Edgar and Daryll: Like, Buca earlier on. Lawrence, right? And then once in a while, Henry. But he doesn't have a team that just puts up solid floors, right?
Tom: Correct.
Edgar and Daryll: His floor is, like, super low.
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: um And that's not...
Tom: Yep. Which I can relate to throughout this season, you know.
Edgar and Daryll: It's true. This is true. But he also had, like, rough matchups, right?
Tom: Yes.
Edgar and Daryll: I think i then you had rough matchups, and and a portion of that comes down to that. Not just... Like, you didn't have a lot of games that you won under 100, right?
Tom: Correct.
Edgar and Daryll: You know? ah Nere did. Nere
Tom: Yeah, he had the boomer bust team, kind of, you know.
Edgar and Daryll: did. 100%. Yes, I agree.
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: Now, I think Carlos had more solid floors, and I think that's what he's going to need against Nere. But, yeah, I expect Nere to go back into the cycle. Hopefully we don't lose him next year. if I don't think he's going to lose the cycle. Or win the cycle. Do you lose the cycle or do you win the cycle?
Tom: What, last year?
Edgar and Daryll: No, I'm just saying like, thank that I'm just asking like, do you lose, this like going into the SACO, like is losing a SACO meaning that you win the SACO or are you saying you win the SACO so you get last place?
Tom: Oh, in general?
Tom: No, you lose SACO by scoring the least amount of points.
Edgar and Daryll: Okay, okay. And thus earning the SACO.
Tom: Yeah.
Tom: Correct.
Edgar and Daryll: Okay.
Tom: You have to earn the SACO by losing.
Edgar and Daryll: but okay Got it. Got it. And then we have and and then we have Troy versus um Andrew, which I think is going to be a good matchup.
Tom: Yep.
Edgar and Daryll: But who would you take if you had to put your money on someone?
Tom: Oh, boy.
Tom: it's It's tough to go against Troy.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah. Yeah.
Tom: Because, i mean, Josh Allen, Kuka Nakua, Bucky Irving, Jalen Hurts.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: You know, that's that's that's a tough kind of core.
Edgar and Daryll: Mm-hmm.
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: Kind of crazy that it's in the sack, huh? Mm-hmm.
Tom: I mean, it is, right?
Tom: But Andrew, you know, Drake May, again, they they haven't clocked up their division, so they're going to be playing hard.
Edgar and Daryll: Chase.
Edgar and Daryll: Correct.
Tom: You know, Jermar Chase, you know, they're out. So I really don't know what the sense of kind of, you know, playing him.
Edgar and Daryll: And...
Edgar and Daryll: I hope it's good because I'm playing Burrow next week, this week. Yeah.
Tom: But listen, I'm going to say Troy just because i still have PTSD from when Pickens put up that three touchdown. I think I went into that game with a lead that i was very comfortable with.
Tom: And then I think it was like Sunday night and Monday night. Pickens just put up three touchdowns, just destroyed me. My season never recovered from that. So personally, I'm going to go with Troy over Andrew, but out of spite.
Edgar and Daryll: funny. Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: Got it. Okay, so... I'm actually going to go with Andrew.
Tom: Okay.
Edgar and Daryll: um
Tom: Perfect.
Edgar and Daryll: But it's because I'm going against what Darrell was saying, that I have i have a bias. ah So I don't have a bias.
Tom: Yeah,
Edgar and Daryll: I'm saying Andrew makes it out. But i think it's going to be tight. And the only reason is because I think that, like you said, Drake Maeve, right?
Tom: I agree.
Tom: Yep.
Edgar and Daryll: DeAndre Stubbs has been playing great.
Tom: Yep.
Edgar and Daryll: ah Chase and Alave and Pickens also are like really good plays.
Tom: Yep.
Edgar and Daryll: Um, where I think Allen is phenomenal, but Bucky Irvin has been like, eh, Nakua, I think it's going to get a ton of work.
Tom: Yep.
Edgar and Daryll: I hope he does.
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: Cause he's in my other league. Um, but then he doesn't really have a whole lot of other players that kind of like stand out to me. Like Camara is not playing.
Tom: Yeah. I mean, Waller with Tua, who knows how that situation however you pronounce it.
Edgar and Daryll: So.
Edgar and Daryll: Well, Waller with the new, uh, quarterback, what's his name? quote
Edgar and Daryll: Something like that, yeah.
Tom: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: And it he might be the safety valve.
Tom: So. he He could be. I mean, they're playing against Cincinnati, which is currently 32nd ranked. I know they've been playing a little bit better defense lately, but again, I don't know what Cincinnati is really playing for.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: So, you know, correct.
Edgar and Daryll: You're saying the the Dolphins are playing against Cincinnati, or?
Tom: The Dolphins are playing against it Cincinnati.
Edgar and Daryll: oh we well, you know, the crazy thing is that the Bengals have allowed the most points, right, to the tight ends. Yeah.
Tom: Okay.
Edgar and Daryll: So they said that they average like 25 points or something like that to tight ends, which is bananas.
Tom: Okay. So, So that might be the ah you know that that fire that he needs.
Edgar and Daryll: Sure. Yeah, it might be.
Tom: Like you said, safety net, tight end. So again, I think each matchup is going to be a good game.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: For sure. For sure.
Tom: I don't think there's quite a blowout like maybe one of the playoff matchups might turn out to be. But we'll talk about that in a bit.
Edgar and Daryll: Oh, man. That's right. Well, let's ah let's go ahead and talk about our semifinal of our people who have made it out into the playoffs.
Edgar and Daryll: ah By the way, Daryl's in France, just so you guys work just you guys are aware. ah So, you know, that's why we have Tom in the pod, and we're super grateful.

Tom: I mean, I thought it was a good matchup. I didn't think it was going to be as big of a margin as it was going to be. um So, you know, congratulations to you.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: I mean, it's you versus Daryl going into this week, which, again, is always a great matchup.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Edgar and Daryll: That's my killer's heel.
Tom: Just, yeah. um yeah but i i mean i really like romo's team i i like your team too like again you're one of those ones that you know you're a big trader throughout the season so which you know some some people aren't some people are um
Edgar and Daryll: Mm-hmm.

Edgar and Daryll: That's what it's all about. Yeah, and that's what it's about, too. Like, I think, you know, talking about trades and obviously the big trade that everybody was, like, chatting about and and telling me, like, oh, you know, you gave up Gibbs.
Edgar and Daryll: In the grand scheme of things, did I win the trade at the end?
Tom: Yeah.
Tom: Yeah. I mean, listen, you are where you are, right?
Edgar and Daryll: mon
Tom: So a win's a win.

Tom: That's all, that's all matters, you know?

Tom: But to be fair, you, you gave up a lot too, to get to where you are. You know, you, you traded away, you know, any, not any, but most of your keeper potential, you kind of gave up to get to where you are.
Edgar and Daryll: For sure. 100%. one hundred percent
Tom: So, know,
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah, I sell the farm. you know I sell first draft picks could.
Tom: Okay. ah
Edgar and Daryll: and for um If I had another child on the way, maybe middle name rights.
Edgar and Daryll: now But um so would do you, you know, and and I appreciate Romo and I think Romo had a phenomenal team and and congratulations to building what you did. I thought you were for sure you were ah a big contender to make it all the way.
Edgar and Daryll: Unfortunately, you came up against this wall of mine. ah So, but I do think that you you build an amazing team, Romo. However, would you rather be on the foot of having the best, your second best game of your season, but still losing or just being blown out in the playoffs?
Tom: I mean, I'm always that one, like, even if I'm not playing that week, it's a meaningless week, you week, I still set up the best lineup, you know, just, that's just my mentality.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah.
Tom: So,
Edgar and Daryll: Sure.
Tom: you know, i don't I don't want to get blown out ever.
Edgar and Daryll: But what hurts more? I know, but what hurts more, though?
Tom: Um,
Edgar and Daryll: Like, losing by, like, just having such a blow-up game where you're like, bro, I could have beaten every single person, right? Or, like, I'm just happy that he put me down early so they don't have to worry about it.
Tom: No, i want I want to be in the fight.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah? Nice.
Tom: Yeah. Like, I want to spend my Monday, every meeting I'm in, in the back of my mind being like, I just want to get to Monday Night Football.
Edgar and Daryll: I love that.
Tom: And, you know.
Edgar and Daryll: You have, though. this I feel like this year, it's come to a lot of Monday night football games for you.
Tom: Yeah. ah I've lost a lot of sleep this season.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah, I agree.
Tom: um i've I've cried myself to sleep a lot of nights, too, after after those long nights.
Edgar and Daryll: Yeah, there's been a lot of close matchups for you. I'm telling you, it hasn't been that your record shows that, yeah, you were last, but the end of the day, you you just had really close matchups that didn't go your way.
Tom: Yeah.

Edgar and Daryll: um Now, I'm playing against Daryl, right? yeah ESPN says 50-50. um Now, I tend to lose against Darryl, right? And Romo told me that Lightning does strike the same place multiple times, but I say that it does not strike the same place.
Edgar and Daryll: ah So, me personally, I think I make it out. um I think I have maybe more upside than Darryl, but just want to hear your thoughts about that matchup.
Tom: yeah Yeah, so, I mean, it is fifty fifty He's not lying to you guys. I'm looking at it right now. um
Tom: I do like your team a little bit better. um You know, Amin Ra, James Cook, Javante Williams.
Tom: You have some questionables. You know, Travis Kelsey, you know, without Mahomes. Again, could it be a safety net?
Edgar and Daryll: yeah I mean he got most of his points with Minshew last week yeah
Tom: Who knows?
Tom: I mean, Travion Henderson, Sunday Night Football against Baltimore, it's it's a big game because, again, Patriots haven't locked up, you know, the AFC East. Travion, I mean, again, I'm i'm a homer as a Pats fan, so, you know, I do like to see those 50-yard runs.
Edgar and Daryll: oh yeah he's got he's getting more coming
