Opening & Improv Singing

00:00:04
Speaker
Hey, everyone, it's Alman Kureishi.
00:00:06
Speaker
You're listening to the Expat Brat Podcast.
00:00:08
Speaker
What's going on, people?
00:00:10
Speaker
I hope you've been having a great few days between the last episode that I released and now.
00:00:17
Speaker
And it's just everything's just been wonderful and you're having a great time and you're going around singing.
00:00:22
Speaker
I have the time of my life.
00:00:26
Speaker
and on and on and so forth.
00:00:28
Speaker
I really should cut out singing for my episodes.

Sporting Dreams & Height Challenges

00:00:31
Speaker
You know, I'm, I'm, uh, I'm pretty much, uh, frowned upon, uh, no, no.
00:00:37
Speaker
How do I explain this?
00:00:38
Speaker
I, I do improv shows and we do one night where, which is musical improvisation.
00:00:45
Speaker
And, uh, I, I'm pretty much, you know, kind of like banned from it.
00:00:48
Speaker
Like the people would pay money not to have me sing on one of those nights.
00:00:53
Speaker
So it's, uh,
00:00:54
Speaker
Just a little secret.
00:00:55
Speaker
But other than that, I hope you've been having a great time, you particularly, and that you don't have singing problems like I do.
00:01:03
Speaker
I think I don't know what dismayed me more about my life.
00:01:06
Speaker
The fact that I didn't grow tall because I loved playing sports and I fancied myself as a bit of a sports person, particularly basketball.
00:01:16
Speaker
I was very good at basketball until everybody outgrew me.
00:01:19
Speaker
It was really sad in school.
00:01:21
Speaker
I was one of the best players till everyone hit puberty.
00:01:25
Speaker
And then I couldn't reach like above their shoulders and stuff and became a block fest.
00:01:32
Speaker
And I just kind of like left my interest in basketball because of that.
00:01:37
Speaker
And it was the same.
00:01:39
Speaker
I chose to play cricket.
00:01:41
Speaker
And guess what aspect I fell in love with?
00:01:43
Speaker
Fast bowling.
00:01:45
Speaker
It's the one aspect of cricket where height is essential, right?
00:01:49
Speaker
There are other, that's one of the beauties about cricket.
00:01:53
Speaker
You can get away with lack of height.
00:01:54
Speaker
In fact, some of the greatest batsmen, batsmen have been short.
00:01:59
Speaker
Some keepers have been short.
00:02:00
Speaker
But nope, I had to fall in love with fast bowling.
00:02:03
Speaker
And so that kind of didn't pan out.
00:02:05
Speaker
I don't know if I'm more disappointed about that or the fact that I couldn't sing because I love dancing.
00:02:10
Speaker
And so the other thing I kind of fancied myself back in my early childhood was to be a performer.

Tone-Deaf Confession

00:02:17
Speaker
Well, I am a performer now.
00:02:19
Speaker
I meant like a performer, like a...
00:02:23
Speaker
a boy band and not a boy band i didn't have any fixed genre i don't think where i've gone into pop or rap or i i guess i like dancing so maybe that was part of it like i did want to be up there on stage singing and dancing i got the dancing part fairly okay uh i don't think i'm a terrible dancer
00:02:45
Speaker
Well, at least before my knee operations and stuff.
00:02:48
Speaker
But my singing never, never had any talent.
00:02:51
Speaker
I'm tone deaf.
00:02:52
Speaker
I am completely tone deaf.
00:02:53
Speaker
When people talk to me about music and they go, hey, listen, there's the beat and you get in on this part and just feel it.
00:03:00
Speaker
I really don't understand.
00:03:04
Speaker
They don't realize like tone deaf.
00:03:06
Speaker
people like myself, I think I'm tone deaf, is that they, it's like asking a blind person to go, look, all you have to do is look, right?
00:03:18
Speaker
Or a deaf person say, listen, just hear me out.
00:03:21
Speaker
That's the equivalent.
00:03:23
Speaker
of someone trying to make me understand singing.
00:03:28
Speaker
Yeah, so I don't know which part was more disappointing.
00:03:32
Speaker
I think both of those things, they're things every kid wants to be anyway, right?
00:03:36
Speaker
So I guess 99%

80s Career Guidance in the Gulf

00:03:39
Speaker
of us end up being disappointed in our lives because how many of us become huge stars?
00:03:46
Speaker
Forget the huge star thing, like find the career at that time.
00:03:50
Speaker
You're too young and stupid to...
00:03:52
Speaker
be guided.
00:03:53
Speaker
And you have to be really lucky to have the right parents, the right support system, which wasn't there back in the 80s in the Gulf because schooling systems were still raw, not developed properly, or at least not evolved into what kids get nowadays.
00:04:11
Speaker
And so
00:04:13
Speaker
You know, no one was there to kind of guide you into these careers.
00:04:16
Speaker
It also seemed like a distant dream because all of it was happening in places like America or America.
00:04:23
Speaker
Right.
00:04:24
Speaker
So you didn't think about like there wasn't any NBA to aspire for in the Middle East.
00:04:32
Speaker
or in any part of the world, really.
00:04:34
Speaker
So that aspect, I think, played a big part as well.
00:04:38
Speaker
And of course, same with the singing or the acting and all that kind of stuff.
00:04:43
Speaker
All you saw in front of you were people who were doctors and that was praise.
00:04:47
Speaker
So that's what you became.
00:04:50
Speaker
I don't blame...
00:04:51
Speaker
I don't blame parents completely.
00:04:53
Speaker
It was just that time, that generation.
00:04:58
Speaker
And that was what the reality was at that time.
00:05:02
Speaker
So where am I going with this, man?
00:05:06
Speaker
Just the fact that I got into this without thinking, really, what's this episode about, man?

Successful Comedy Show with Rushdie Rafiq

00:05:14
Speaker
My point is I'm jealous of kids who get told you can be whatever you want, right?
00:05:19
Speaker
To me, it's just like I wish I could go back in time but be a kid in this time or go back with the knowledge I have and redo this with this.
00:05:29
Speaker
Anyway, that's just life and regret.
00:05:32
Speaker
I enjoyed I'd be lucky to kind of get into things.
00:05:37
Speaker
I had a great show, in fact.
00:05:40
Speaker
Just a shout-out to everybody who showed up at the theater.
00:05:45
Speaker
it was uh so Rushdie and I my fellow comic Rushdie Rafiq shout out to Sal and Rushdie do our other podcasts which I do with him uh and also other stuff that we do together uh we we do a show called Sal and Rushdie do comedy and that's our live version where we bring on we do a little bit of stand-up ourselves and we bring on some of the other comics around uh and and just have a great night and uh this
00:06:10
Speaker
prior Monday.
00:06:12
Speaker
We try to do it the first Monday of every month, but that might change.
00:06:15
Speaker
Just keep a lookout for it.
00:06:16
Speaker
I'll add it in the description, our details of that show.
00:06:20
Speaker
But it was really good.
00:06:21
Speaker
So I was really happy with it because we had a great crowd and I had a great time and I saw other comics just kill.
00:06:29
Speaker
We had Ima, who's just killing it on the comedy scene in the UAE.
00:06:34
Speaker
Her husband, Amr, I just love his stuff as well.
00:06:37
Speaker
Really good.
00:06:38
Speaker
And then there was a...
00:06:40
Speaker
There's a girl called Rebecca.
00:06:41
Speaker
All really good stuff.
00:06:42
Speaker
Rishi brought his character stand-up onto the stage as well, which I always... He's just one of the funniest guys I know in stand-up ever.
00:06:52
Speaker
I'm just putting it out there.
00:06:53
Speaker
That's why I'm friends with him.
00:06:55
Speaker
That's why I stay close with him.
00:06:56
Speaker
I just believe he's going to become this really great comic.
00:07:01
Speaker
Then I can be his groupie, feed off him for a couple of years.

Grant Hill's Podcast & Financial Wisdom

00:07:05
Speaker
That's the master plan.
00:07:07
Speaker
I just hope he translates his talents into material success for my sake.
00:07:14
Speaker
And I think this is kind of revolving around my head because I'm listening to Grant Hill's podcast.
00:07:22
Speaker
audio book, his autobio.
00:07:25
Speaker
And it's a good book.
00:07:27
Speaker
It's a good story.
00:07:28
Speaker
He was fascinating to me in the 90s because, you know, it was around that time and they were looking for the next Michael Jordan.
00:07:34
Speaker
And then Jordan kind of came back and stole the show again for a few years.
00:07:38
Speaker
But there was this famous Sprite ad that was the anti-Be Like Mike ad, basically, and
00:07:45
Speaker
And it consisted of Grant Hill dunking and just playing and these kids watching him and they go, one of the kids goes, Grant Hill drinks Sprite.
00:07:56
Speaker
Grant Hill drinks Sprite.
00:07:58
Speaker
And so he's associating that drinking Sprite will make me like Grant Hill.
00:08:02
Speaker
He drinks, he gets a bottle of Sprite, he drinks it, tries to dunk, fails.
00:08:06
Speaker
And so...
00:08:08
Speaker
I forget the exact tagline, but it was something along the lines of just quench your thirst or just drink it for, you know, it was the message was you come to Sprite when you want to have just want to drink something and not turn yourself into a popular basketball player or whatever.
00:08:27
Speaker
I don't know how it worked.
00:08:28
Speaker
I thought it was catchy.
00:08:31
Speaker
And so he was kind of cool at that time.
00:08:33
Speaker
And I guess he never became the big dog and won championships and all that.
00:08:39
Speaker
Just didn't turn into that superstar, superstar legend kind of thing.
00:08:45
Speaker
Pretty good career, was a good player.
00:08:48
Speaker
And anyway, in one part, he talks about how when artists or athletes or whatever, when they're new and they come across this money, and especially the ones from his generation onwards, these guys are raking in millions of dollars, man,
00:09:04
Speaker
Why am I not a basketball player in this generation?
00:09:08
Speaker
I mean, I'm not a basketball player in any generation in my life, but I wish, if anything, I could be an NBA player right now, just starting my career.
00:09:16
Speaker
Can you imagine in any other field, right?
00:09:18
Speaker
You walk in.
00:09:19
Speaker
I don't know what other industry has this where you walk in as a complete freshie and you're thrown like millions of dollars at you.
00:09:28
Speaker
That's incredible.
00:09:29
Speaker
Yeah, that's what I want.
00:09:31
Speaker
That's what everybody wants.
00:09:33
Speaker
So he talks about the problem with your old friends and his dad gave him some advice that was pretty cool.
00:09:42
Speaker
He says, don't go out with your old friends or any friend.
00:09:48
Speaker
by taking you all should have the same amount of money in your wallets when you go out.
00:09:54
Speaker
And the point was don't start picking the tab up for them.
00:10:00
Speaker
And Grant Hill talks about the advice but ignoring it.
00:10:03
Speaker
And then initially a couple of his friends are hanging out with him.
00:10:06
Speaker
And because they're going to kind of upscale state places, he picks up the tab a few times and they're thankful.
00:10:12
Speaker
And then he's like, at some point it turned into like not like just a given.
00:10:19
Speaker
Right.
00:10:20
Speaker
An expectation.
00:10:21
Speaker
And he said, I got resentful about that.
00:10:24
Speaker
And his dad's advice came back to him, who was also an athlete, but like an American football player.
00:10:29
Speaker
Anywho, I thought that was cool.
00:10:31
Speaker
I just hope Rushi doesn't hear that and pick up on it because I completely want him to be picking my tab up when we go to these

Writing Process & Creativity

00:10:39
Speaker
fancy state places.
00:10:41
Speaker
It's the same thing you see in other things like Mike Tyson's documentary right now, Ric Flair's one, which I'm watching right now.
00:10:46
Speaker
That's really cool.
00:10:47
Speaker
Flashback to the 80s.
00:10:48
Speaker
It's so wonderful.
00:10:51
Speaker
I've gone off on a different tangent, but just...
00:10:53
Speaker
Just a quick thank you to the people who did the show.
00:10:56
Speaker
I was really happy and proud with myself because I did some old bits, but I finally tried out, readed a few new jokes, rewrote them, and some of them really landed pretty well.
00:11:07
Speaker
So I was quite happy about that.
00:11:10
Speaker
Just trying to write my new special, man.
00:11:12
Speaker
It's...
00:11:13
Speaker
Some days are just so hard.
00:11:16
Speaker
Some days you're inspired and you're jotting down stuff.
00:11:20
Speaker
But I think that's a little bit of a if you're an artist or you're starting out writing of any kind, whether it's stand-up comedy or whatever, I've realized you kind of fool yourself a little bit.
00:11:29
Speaker
Just because the days you're writing a lot doesn't mean you're actually on a roll, as people say.
00:11:34
Speaker
It just comes down which day what joke at the end when you bring the joke out or when you release your art in whatever form you're doing it in.
00:11:43
Speaker
It's the reaction of the people to it that really, really is the final kind of answer.
00:11:50
Speaker
Yeah.
00:11:51
Speaker
And it's not to say like you've got to give your entire self of being or something to audiences.
00:11:58
Speaker
I think some people, some artists get annoyed about that.
00:12:01
Speaker
But I do think...
00:12:02
Speaker
That acceptance is important at some level because if you're just doing art for yourself that's kind of selfish, it has to be art that people can sometimes relate to as well, especially in something like stand-up comedy, man.
00:12:14
Speaker
If they're not laughing, what's the point?
00:12:15
Speaker
Anywho, so some days I do write a lot and I think I'm on a roll.
00:12:19
Speaker
I'm doing great.
00:12:20
Speaker
Some days I write two lines, man.
00:12:22
Speaker
The whole writing session, I've got two lines.
00:12:25
Speaker
But sometimes it's that joke, that one joke while I was standing around while walking around.
00:12:29
Speaker
That clicks so much harder than the day I wrote 10 million jokes.
00:12:34
Speaker
So, yeah, I guess, you know, that's the life of an artist.
00:12:38
Speaker
You just keep producing and hoping that the people will like it.
00:12:42
Speaker
Nah.
00:12:43
Speaker
I don't know what accent that was.
00:12:45
Speaker
Ha ha ha.
00:12:47
Speaker
Yeah, so anyway, that was the show.
00:12:51
Speaker
Catch it again next time.
00:12:52
Speaker
I'm going to be constantly doing a lot of new bits, hitting up some of the other venues around Dubai too.

80s Nostalgia & Ric Flair's Documentary

00:13:02
Speaker
The Ric Flair thing, though, that's really cool because it got me on a little trip to the 80s as I was watching it.
00:13:09
Speaker
And I remember him.
00:13:10
Speaker
I know he started in the 70s, but my experience of him was through the 80s, mostly after he had moved to the WWF, already a big name.
00:13:18
Speaker
I loved and hated him.
00:13:20
Speaker
He was super annoying.
00:13:22
Speaker
And I was a big Hulk Hogan fan.
00:13:24
Speaker
So, you know, it was just like a natural hatred for anyone who was against the Hulkamania, right?
00:13:30
Speaker
So...
00:13:32
Speaker
I just had that thing going for me.
00:13:33
Speaker
But it's a very interesting documentary.
00:13:36
Speaker
It's on Disney+.
00:13:36
Speaker
I like it.
00:13:39
Speaker
He's a big part of it.
00:13:40
Speaker
He's being interviewed through it.
00:13:42
Speaker
And there's a lot of footage around and a lot of history and story.
00:13:47
Speaker
And I guess it's a... I don't know.
00:13:50
Speaker
I haven't finished it yet.
00:13:52
Speaker
But it's really good.
00:13:53
Speaker
So I'd recommend that one.
00:13:55
Speaker
Anyway, this is something I was watching.

Impact of TV Show ALF

00:13:58
Speaker
But that 80s trip, right?
00:13:59
Speaker
For some reason...
00:14:01
Speaker
The last few days, I've just been hung up on wanting to watch some reruns.
00:14:07
Speaker
I don't do that enough.
00:14:08
Speaker
I don't do too much nostalgia, although I really listen to Michael Jackson way too much sometimes.
00:14:16
Speaker
But ALF has been on my mind.
00:14:18
Speaker
I don't know how many of you guys watched it, and I was re-looking the show and some of the stuff on it.
00:14:23
Speaker
And for the first thing, I was shocked that there were only four seasons.
00:14:28
Speaker
And that's why I was kind of upset to know that.
00:14:30
Speaker
So many TV shows that had such longer runs that were so far crappier.
00:14:37
Speaker
If you haven't watched ALF, it's about this alien that lands in the U.S. Well, you know, it doesn't sound unique now, but back then it was a cool story.
00:14:47
Speaker
And he lands in the American suburbs into this family, the Tanners.
00:14:53
Speaker
Yeah, I remember that name, the Tanners.
00:14:55
Speaker
And I think Alf's real name is something else.
00:14:58
Speaker
And Alf stands for alien life form.
00:15:00
Speaker
And the father of the family names him Alf.
00:15:04
Speaker
I don't know why, but it's just kind of shitty, right?
00:15:05
Speaker
Yeah.
00:15:06
Speaker
A little bit about immigration, though, right?
00:15:08
Speaker
It's like, I was like, my name's, I've got a name.
00:15:11
Speaker
And they decide to call him Alf instead.
00:15:12
Speaker
So was it deliberate?
00:15:14
Speaker
Was it like, oh, my God, just having like this insight as I'm talking about it?
00:15:18
Speaker
Or was it just, just, I don't know, just to mark him out?
00:15:23
Speaker
more clearly i gotta go watch a re uh re-watch those shows to to the pilot might have that answer why was he named like that but so interesting you know and it wasn't even like his real name was a weird alien name is it was what it was like i think it was gordon gordon yeah that was it i
00:15:44
Speaker
I think it was Gordon.
00:15:45
Speaker
I have to look this up.
00:15:47
Speaker
Give me a sec.
00:15:47
Speaker
All right.
00:15:48
Speaker
This was, he lands in, okay.
00:15:53
Speaker
Gordon Shumway.
00:15:54
Speaker
Yeah.
00:15:55
Speaker
And his, the planet he was coming from was, he's right here.
00:16:00
Speaker
Where was it from?
00:16:01
Speaker
He lands from Melmac.
00:16:03
Speaker
I remember that Melmac and they used to eat cats and stuff.
00:16:06
Speaker
It just sounds so bizarre.
00:16:08
Speaker
But that was the 80s.
00:16:09
Speaker
It was such a fun show.
00:16:10
Speaker
It was a family show.
00:16:11
Speaker
I loved it.
00:16:12
Speaker
I loved Alf.
00:16:13
Speaker
I thought, apart from the... It was a comedy, but there were so much... There were such good moments in the show, like really touching moments, showing him, showing his culture shock, like the guilt of being the... Because his planet explodes.
00:16:30
Speaker
I think his guilt...
00:16:32
Speaker
of being the only survivor, sometimes just being bored, you know, and obviously loneliness because he was the only thing.
00:16:40
Speaker
And his difficulty with like trying to eat the family cat because, you know, back home they ate cats and that was something he liked doing.
00:16:46
Speaker
I thought it was a lot deeper than people...
00:16:50
Speaker
think at first, but it really touched those emotions.
00:16:54
Speaker
Even as a kid when I was watching it, it was just a show that stayed with me because of those great moments, I think.
00:17:02
Speaker
And that's, yeah, it just left a real big impact on me.
00:17:07
Speaker
And then I had heard that they were going to reboot it.
00:17:11
Speaker
I wasn't very happy about it at that time because I hate reboots and stuff and ruining my childhood.
00:17:15
Speaker
But it's not for me, I guess.
00:17:16
Speaker
It's for the new generation, whatever.
00:17:19
Speaker
Screw y'all.
00:17:21
Speaker
But then they didn't.
00:17:23
Speaker
It got lost somewhere.

Year-End Goals & Motivation

00:17:26
Speaker
And I don't know what happened with it.
00:17:27
Speaker
And now I regret it because I think a show that was given only four seasons definitely should make a comeback.
00:17:33
Speaker
I hope they can keep a lot of the original...
00:17:36
Speaker
feelings and looks of the whole thing about it uh obviously not the original cast that would have aged quite a bit late 80s yeah i don't even know if they're alive i hope they are i'm just over coolio dying man coolio all right coolio shit oh this is bob saget and coolio oh man just my real big moments in my childhood just disappeared that's crazy um
00:18:02
Speaker
Yeah, that was this.
00:18:04
Speaker
Anyway, I'm getting freaked out now a little bit because it's we're hitting the last quarter of 2022 as well.
00:18:11
Speaker
And, you know, the beginning of this year, I hit some I've had a good year of being very like honest with myself about it.
00:18:17
Speaker
So I'm quite happy.
00:18:18
Speaker
But my key thing was like there were three, four main goals of the year and I was doing so good.
00:18:25
Speaker
up until about like the six seven month part and then it just took two busy months and being distracted that just ruined all a lot of the work i had done so i'm kind of like just really annoyed with myself at the same time trying to calm myself down by looking back and going okay
00:18:43
Speaker
These are the gains I have made.
00:18:45
Speaker
I am overall better in most positions, and I'm on the way.
00:18:50
Speaker
But it was nice to just kind of reflect and go, right, we're hitting October, November, December.
00:18:55
Speaker
It's time to pull up my socks and really hit things hard.
00:19:00
Speaker
So the last two, three...
00:19:01
Speaker
Two, three days, I've started hitting the gym again.
00:19:04
Speaker
I was just doing this to motivate you guys as well, yeah?
00:19:08
Speaker
I started eating a bit clean again, trying to watch my intake.
00:19:12
Speaker
Man, I love food.
00:19:13
Speaker
I know I keep going on about it.
00:19:15
Speaker
I don't know what to do about it, guys.
00:19:17
Speaker
So I'm working hard at it.
00:19:18
Speaker
I think it's nice to just really give a real push.
00:19:23
Speaker
I think everybody kind of does it the last quarter.
00:19:25
Speaker
But it's nice.
00:19:26
Speaker
It's nice to have that little kick.
00:19:27
Speaker
It's nice to have those numbers and nice to go.
00:19:29
Speaker
I'm hitting something.
00:19:30
Speaker
I am generally not disorganized.
00:19:33
Speaker
I'm generally not a numbers guy.
00:19:35
Speaker
But this year...
00:19:37
Speaker
I really took down like stats and really checking on measured a lot of things.
00:19:43
Speaker
And I'm so glad I did that because it makes you just clarifies so many things for you, right?
00:19:49
Speaker
The amount of writing I do, the weight loss, the, my growth in whatever areas I'm working on, it just became so much more concrete.
00:19:58
Speaker
So I'm really happy about it.
00:19:59
Speaker
And on that note, you know, I just want to get, uh, I want to hand over the mic to my pal here, uh, for, uh,
00:20:06

The top self-care tip of the episode.

00:20:22
Speaker
That is me.
00:20:23
Speaker
That is I, in fact, fixing my grammar as I speak along this way.
00:20:27
Speaker
Look, guys, the simple fact is you need to be taking care of your skin, moisturizing.
00:20:33
Speaker
The simplest thing you can do and the best thing you can do for your life.
00:20:37
Speaker
I know, I know some of you are like shaving the body and the skin and the face so much that you are thinking exfoliation naturally.
00:20:43
Speaker
That is a stupid thought.
00:20:45
Speaker
You need to be using the moisturizer.
00:20:48
Speaker
If you're not in this century, not using the moisturizer, what you are doing?
00:20:52
Speaker
Especially for my friends who are living here in the Middle East with me, man.
00:20:56
Speaker
What are you doing?
00:20:57
Speaker
We are in the place where sun is shining everywhere on you.
00:21:01
Speaker
The sun is shining on you on places where the sun shouldn't be shining.
00:21:04
Speaker
That is where it's going.
00:21:05
Speaker
So much sun we are living in.
00:21:07
Speaker
So moisturize.
00:21:09
Speaker
Make your face and the skin really healthy.
00:21:11
Speaker
And the ladies will be coming to you by themselves.
00:21:15
Speaker
Promising you.
00:21:16
Speaker
Valla.
00:21:16
Speaker
Promise.
00:21:18
Speaker
Okay.
00:21:18
Speaker
Thank you Salman.
00:21:19
Speaker
That is the top self-care tip of the episode.
00:21:24
Speaker
Okay, thanks, Ramesh.
00:21:27
Speaker
Yeah, I hope that's useful.
00:21:28
Speaker
It's very basic stuff, but for some reason, some of these things people don't do is just a good reminder for me too, guys.
00:21:35
Speaker
That's your top self-care tip.
00:21:38
Speaker
Please act on it and just make a difference in

Speaker
I want to see what I can put out there.
00:22:23
Speaker
That stuff that people actually want is useful.
00:22:27
Speaker
And it's cool.
00:22:28
Speaker
And it represents the whole idea behind this.
00:22:31
Speaker
So, yeah, help me out with that, guys.
00:22:33
Speaker
In the meantime, I've got to go back and start doing some stuff.
00:22:39
Speaker

Speaker
I want to take the new special on a tour very soon.
00:22:57
Speaker
I'm hoping to complete it by December and then start off in 2023 going around doing it and finish it off then.
00:23:06
Speaker
So that's the goal.
00:23:07
Speaker
Got to get back to it and work on it.
00:23:09
Speaker
In the meantime, you know, some of the songs... I haven't heard any good new songs, actually.
00:23:14
Speaker
Tell me some good new music to listen to as well.
00:23:18

Support for Autism Episode & Open Conversations

00:24:06
Speaker
of love.
00:24:06
Speaker
I should have put this right at the beginning, to be honest.
00:24:08
Speaker
I'm sorry.
00:24:09
Speaker
I had a lot of people who came to me about the last episode and it was really nice and heartwarming how many people reached out.
00:24:17
Speaker
It was about my kids' autism and stuff.
00:24:20
Speaker
And the idea wasn't to talk about my own kids' autism, just that.
00:24:23
Speaker
It was more about getting that conversation going and getting people to be okay with talking about it.
00:24:29
Speaker
parents who are worried uh you know just a lot of people feel shame or guilt or something whatever is the reason stop it and and get out but i just want to shout out to everybody who reached out with a lot of love and that's what makes the world go around people so that's really nice and on that note i'm gonna say goodbye because i gotta run and do things so goodbye or as a dog would say woof
