NFL Trade Deadline Impact
00:00:33
Speaker
Manatee Jackson heading into week nine on the mic here. And what do we got? We got, we're coming off a historic trade deadline.
00:00:48
Speaker
Holy trades happened a lot of them a lot of trades. What does it mean for fantasy?
Rondale Moore vs. Wandale Robinson Debate
00:00:55
Speaker
Nothing? Moving on You know, this is probably the last time this will have to be a topic of discussion Or segment in this podcast the Ron versus the one Ron versus the one Rondale versus one Dale
00:01:18
Speaker
Hey, the debate is over. There is no more debate. After Wandell came off two catches for like 15 yards and Rondell came off of what seven for 92 and a touch. Rondell played 99% of the snaps. Doesn't leave the field and a pass heavy offense.
00:01:39
Speaker
He also, for your information in the dome, uh, or no, I guess it wouldn't have been in the dome, but at home against the Vikes last year, Rondell with hop Hopkins in the lineup. Also got over a hundred yards burst the Vikings. He's a weapon. They're going to use them.
00:02:01
Speaker
He has a better situation than one Dale. All right. Just had to close that out. That was, uh, Tay, Tay disease challenge. Talking up one Dale over Rondell and it's not a thing anymore. So we're going to move on and this will be a quick, just going to fire it out this, this week. I have a busy week in, in real life with work. So I'm actually recording on a Wednesday, just trying to get this out.
00:02:31
Speaker
while I keep running and get all my other shit done.
AJ Brown's Teammates Tease
00:02:35
Speaker
So a few things I noticed, one of them, I noticed this video, sideline video of that Eagles Steelers game of A.J. Brown getting shit from his teammates in a game where he went for six catches, 156 yards and three touchdowns. Apparently he could have had four touchdowns.
00:03:02
Speaker
Because he, uh, he juked the secondary, went around, had like a wide open lane to the end zone. And there was a shoestring tackle at like the 10 yard line. And on the sideline, I don't know who number three is, but he was pretty funny. It was just giving AJ Brown shit saying he's officially faster than him. And it was just kind of funny to see AJ Brown's reaction in this game where he's just freaking lighting up the box score.
00:03:32
Speaker
So, love that type of healthy shit talk. Made me kind of chuckle. God, what the hell else was I just thinking about? I had something else, I'm pretty sure. I thought there was something else.
00:03:54
Speaker
I don't know, I don't
Chase Claypool & Nyheim Hines Analysis
00:03:56
Speaker
know. Maybe it was about trade talk. I think the only trade guys that were traded that makes sense, that are kind of appealing to see what happens, probably Chase Claypool, Claypool, let's see what happens in that new Bears offense, but also like low passing volume offense, so I don't really give a shit. Naeheem Heinz is interesting to me at the Bills for every reason why James Cook was.
00:04:21
Speaker
Um, high volume, high scoring offense and Singletary isn't really, I mean, it's serviceable, but if you have an electric difference maker, start to make plays, uh, I could, I could see that role becoming theirs. And that's what Naeem Heinz is. Maybe at least for this year, give it a few weeks.
00:04:45
Speaker
might be perfect for a playoff push. So that's what I'm looking at. Definitely upside there. There's upside with Kedarius, Tony Heinz and Kedarius, Tony, both guys I picked up in the redraft league. So I'm not biased at all.
Kadarius Toney's Role with Chiefs
00:05:02
Speaker
Uh, Kedarius, Tony kind of the same deal. The chiefs high scoring offense.
00:05:10
Speaker
their need of a playmaker to just step up and become the guy. And I think that's what Kid Area's Tony could be. He was returning punts in practice already.
00:05:21
Speaker
So maybe he is going to be more of a gadget type of guy that they utilize in their different packages. So maybe there won't be as much volume for that guy, but could be one of those things where he defines his role and it's perfect for the playoff push. And again, both guys are on my roster in the redraft league. So there you go. There you go. Gonna be a good little playoff push for me.
Fantasy Lineup Reflection
00:05:46
Speaker
uh last week my lineup it won we got it we got it that puts us at five and four
00:06:06
Speaker
So another win for the podcast. Am I at five and three? I lost last week. I haven't updated Magnificent.com yet. I forgot to add last week. So last week was lost would be five and three. No, we'd be five. Okay. So we're five and three, which adds equals eight and we're going into week nine. So that math checks out.
00:06:33
Speaker
All right, easy win. Could have been way better, should have been way better. This is one of those things. Maybe a lot of you had the same issues looking at the slate because it seemed like every guy I looked at had a ton of upside, a lot of potential, liked the matchup, and it was kind of hard to put the pieces together and figure out how to unlock this one. So maybe you had the same issues.
Running Back Choices in Fantasy
00:07:00
Speaker
Here's what frustrated me the most when I, in hindsight, look at this because. You know, at running back, I had Tony Pollard locked in as most people did very high ownership, just in this double up massive double up where I, um, finished in like the top 10%, 20 Pollard was 72% owned insane. And for right reasons, he had 36.7 draft Kings points.
00:07:29
Speaker
And it solidified it for me with Zeke being out. Um, seemed like it was Zeke was heading in that direction all week. So I was on it pretty early. I checked out Tony Pollard's last game with Zeke out and it was the same exact production. And I think you had to look back two years ago to see that game. But with that, it was like, okay, sure.
00:07:53
Speaker
Um, the other instant lock for me, way too cheap. Alvin Kamara 7,100. That was a new brand new for me versus the Raiders. Because again, there was so many values and guys you could start. I warned everybody don't start Kenneth Walker and nobody listened. He was high ownership. So you fucking idiots for playing that one. That's your own fault.
00:08:22
Speaker
Um, so yeah, I went with the sure thing in Alvin Kamara at a very cheap price point, even though there are better values 7,100. The guy got you 96 receiving yards. I mean, he's been getting like eight targets a game. So he got nine catches. He got 62 rushing yards. He got you three touchdowns. No big deal. So my locks at running back all week, got three touchdowns apiece. This is where I'm upset.
00:08:53
Speaker
I had Foreman pretty high up and I was watching Chuba Hubbard and then he got ruled out and I was like, okay, there we go. I'm locking in Foreman and my Flex who ended up getting over 103 touchdowns. And I was hell bent all for it. I think it was like 51 or 53, I can't remember.
00:09:16
Speaker
And then I'm reading more and this is the problem of doing too much research. I think there's three hats you need or yeah, like three different views you need to have. Maybe there's more after I talked through this, but one of them is what does the data say? Now I can't even remember what the other two points are that I was trying to make. Um, but you have to see what the data says, you know,
00:09:46
Speaker
And Foreman, given the opportunity, has performed very well. But he's been in a timeshare, like 50 percentage type of deal every time he's come on. So I'm looking at this great matchup for running back. Hubbard's out. He's got to get 70 percent owner, you know, snap percentage has to play very well for him. So all that's stacking up very nicely.
Analyzing NFL Coach Comments
00:10:12
Speaker
But then I have to, you know, devil's advocate what could go wrong. So I look at that side of things and then I'm reading the tea leaves and I see, oh, head coach. I forget the interim head coach's name for the Panthers, but he said, we're going to continue a timeshare running back, even with Hubbard, blah, blah, blah, blah. Then I'm looking at the stupid black star guy or what a black sheer. I can't remember what his name is.
00:10:38
Speaker
Just a nobody undrafted running back. I'm thinking geez this guy is gonna eat 50% of the snaps that's not gonna look too well and It was my own fault I talked myself out of it and I ended up paying up for him mustard Who's been getting like 70% snap share for three weeks in a row and I thought you know what he's getting some targets and
Weekly Wide Receiver Selections
00:11:01
Speaker
Muster is a feature back at this point versus one of the best running back matchups of the week versus the Lions. And Muster got you 7.7. So I could have had three guys locked in with three touchdowns. Damn it. So many people got three touchdowns. AJ Brown had three touchdowns. He's not in this lineup, but he was another one. For my wide receivers, I just went safe. I did Chris Olave, DJ Moore, Garrett Wilson.
00:11:33
Speaker
I mean, when you have like three future backs in your lineup and then you can get three wide receivers in your lineup that are unquestionably, unquestionably the alpha wide receivers in, in their offense. Then I go for it. Alave got 10.2 DJ Moore got 30.5 Garrett Wilson, very cheap price. Um, got over a hundred yards, six catches.
00:12:00
Speaker
was very low owned 4,200 got 20.5 points. I'm going to wrap this up because wife's calling me. Got to get the baby, carry the baby up the stairs. Kyler Murray got you 29.64 points. I'm on the TJ Hockesen at 11 points, Jets at eight points. And you know what? A lot of people went for value quarterback. Try to get Ellinger at 4K. You got fucked. You fucked yourself. You thought you were getting cute. You fucked yourself. I had all these stars.
Fantasy Lineup Summary & Reflections
00:12:28
Speaker
And I had Kyler Murray second highest price quarterback, my lineup, total points, 197.04 should have been much higher, but I talked myself out of foreman. So there you have it. That's what I got for the week. And until next week, I'm sure I'll be six and three next time we talk until then.
Conclusion & Financial Rhyme
00:12:49
Speaker
Bad luck. And until next time.
00:12:53
Speaker
Well, I'm magnificent, kind of on top of it Sort of crushing through four quarters, not quite right in the border Just an average bitch who's gonna be paid Back my money that I already made Cause I'm gonna come out even in the end Keep my money and only time I'll spend Only back-talk, snack, hop, track, roll, snack, give, snack, hop, snack, stream on top
00:13:16
Speaker
No Hampshire, what's on the ground? Do it all, been small enough in the gate? Or terribly great, if I think I could? I might be with, I might forget, but I'll be, consistently.
