Dealing with Puppies and Chaos

00:00:37
Eden & Briana
What time is it, Chase? Oh, damn it. You're going to scare the frick out of me every frickin' time. Yes. If it sounds like the roof is falling in, it probably is. Yeah, we got two hoodlums upstairs that don't know how to not jump or be quiet for that matter. Exactly. So ah what a week it has been. Tell me all about it. No, I'm not going to air my dirty laundry.
00:01:05
Eden & Briana
Oh literally shit. Literally shit. So I work Monday through Friday as does my husband and we have two puppies and we put them in like the front entry door with a gate and we had to put a board on top of it because they were jumping out. So It was working for a couple days, and then all of a sudden they learned that they could jump out, one in particular named Ugly Betty. And she must have gotten the shits. And so every day after I got home from work, and mind you, my job is not easy, I was having to shampoo my carpets. I'm not laughing at you. I'm laughing with you, because if you don't laugh, I'm going to cry.
00:01:59
Eden & Briana
I literally cried every day this whole week. So I was, usually when I get home, I i like to take at least 20 minutes to decompress because my job is very um emotionally draining and mentally draining. So I like to take that 20 minutes to just decompress. Well, when I don't get that 20 minutes, because I have to pick up shit and then shampoo my carpets, that takes an hour and a half to do.
00:02:29
Eden & Briana
I'm so pissed off and just crabby that after I'm done, I'll literally just not do a damn thing after that. I'll make supper, make sure the kids' homeworks are done, give them baths or whatever. And then it's time for bed. o Like I get home at four o'clock by the time I'm done shampooing. It's time to cook supper. It's time to cook supper.
00:02:58
Eden & Briana
And then eight o'clock bedtime. And then eight o'clock bedtime. My husband has to shower. I have to shower. My daughter has to shower. Leland needs a bath. My laundry? Oh, I don't even dare ask. it's It's been, and then on top of it, the shitty weather. So at work, they they don't go outside for recess if it's negative one. Oh, okay.
00:03:28
Eden & Briana
Well, it's been negative 8, 13, 12. And then wind chill all week. ye So no outdoor play? So they're cooped up. When they get cooped up, the behaviors come out. it's it's It's a whole thing. And that's why I didn't get a case done. So I am doing updates on previous cases.
00:03:56
Eden & Briana
It's a good thing your mom's gonna roll out a case. You guys, I'm rolling out a case tomorrow for you guys. And I think too, when I work with kids and it's mentally draining, it's kind of harder for me to do research on minors that do naughty shit. Naughty shit. Because you're done. Because I'm so mentally done. Your cup over runneth. That I'm like,
00:04:23
Eden & Briana
I need to find a balance of maybe when I get home and after I'm, I don't know. I need to figure it out. You need your puppy not to shit. Well, first off, Ugly Betty is so freaking stupid that I don't know how she can be a Houdini in the first place. I don't either. This baffles me because that dog is dumber than a box of rocks. Yeah.

Basketball Drama and Frustrations

00:04:45
Eden & Briana
Oh, and on top of all of that, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, our oldest had um districts in Newtown oh and they we would leave at like three o'clock and we wouldn't get home till seven.
00:05:08
Eden & Briana
Makes for a long week. So it's like bam bam bam and honestly I didn't know if they were gonna get as far as they did. They lost by two points last night. They worked their butts off so hard. They had the lead the entire game. And it was so close. Back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. Two points ahead. Two points behind. Who were they playing? They were playing um powers like. No shit. Yeah. And they lost by two. The girls were so devastated. They played hard. And let me tell you, if you guys watch any of that,
00:05:48
Eden & Briana
those referees those girls got hurt so much really one is on crutches because they weren't calling the fouls they were just letting them hurt each other constantly so i think there was like four injuries one mine being included oh she got she did but they actually did call that one but she ran snapped face into somebody else and her nose was all red She was hurting. It's not her fault, is it? No. No, but she was hurting. She's a tough nugget, that one. But oh my god. It was horrid. I was yelling. Dean was yelling. Oh, dear heavens. Everybody was yelling at the refs. Because they weren't calling the fells? Yeah. Because that's the ref's job, is to like call the fells so those girls don't get hurt. But anyways, I'm going on a rampage here. That's all right. That's all right. Let it out. Let it out. Yeah.

Community Support for Accident Victim

00:06:47
Eden & Briana
Let it out. Well, we did that benefit for that young man that got, we did that yesterday, our club did, for the young man that was injured in that snowmobile accident. So he has a very long road to recovery. um He's still in the hospital, but he's out of ICU now. Are the chances good though? Yes, but he's going to have to relearn a lot. He's still on a trach.
00:07:14
Eden & Briana
So he's still in a medically induced coma? No, he's awake. Oh, he is awake. That's good. Yeah. And his, his, his mom and all of his friends came to the benefits. So mom was there. That was really nice. And she, they drove his pickup ah to the benefit and then back and forth to where the snowmobiles were stopping. And we had a silent auction and, um, everybody donated for to ride the ride, but all anybody that paid to ride the ride. It was a donation that went straight to him. Oh, that's awesome. That's great. So they they did raise a nice little chunk. I mean, it's a drop in the bucket compared to what he is going to need, but it helps. You couldn't have found me a better chair. No, I thought this would even the playing field because you're so much taller than me.
00:08:10
Eden & Briana
So if I put you on a stool and me in a regular chair that I could look at you face to face and not up. Yeah, but my butt hurts. Well, welcome to this. Welcome to the show. I hurt all over. That's no. i Oh, you should get grounding sheets. Game changer. Oh, listen to this. There was not enough snow to ride my mountain sled yesterday. So I rode Eli's wedge sled. Dad's old sled.
00:08:35
Eden & Briana
That thing threw me around like a fracking rag doll. My body is doing really good until I tried to walk up the stairs and the front of my legs from squeezing. Yeah. Oh man, I'm a hurting unit. I bet. I am a hurting unit, but good time. No accidents. Only one snowmobile blew up and another one had something going on with the chain, but no accidents. Everybody rode safe and it was a good turnout.
00:09:01
Eden & Briana
We're happy and I'm surprised because there was so much going on this weekend. Yeah. There was the Buffalo feed. There was districts. There was tournaments in Washburn. There was a lot going on. So thank you to everybody that turned out for this benefit. It was amazing considering everything that was going on. We did have a good turnout. So that's awesome. So which give me some, did you,

Rachel Henry Sentencing and Mental Health

00:09:30
Eden & Briana
news. I have it pulled up on my phone so I am going to quote it off of truecrimenews.com and you're gonna hate me. What's new? So in Phoenix a 27 year old mother will spend the rest of her life behind bars for killing her three children several years ago and staging their bodies on a couch to make it seem like they were asleep.
00:09:58
Eden & Briana
The Mar- Maricopa Maricopa Maricopa County Attorney's Office announced February 4th that Rachel Henry was sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to three counts of first degree murder and dangerous crime against children.
00:10:20
Eden & Briana
On January 20th, 2020, the victim's great uncle called Phoenix Police and reported that the children were deceased inside a resident near 24th Street and Baseline Road. KSAZ-TV identified the victims as three-year-old Zane Henry, 23-month-old Am I... R-A-Y-A, Maria. Maria Henry and seven-month-old Catalaya Rios. According to the KTVK TV, Rachel Henry was heard on body cam footage telling officers, I put them down to take a nap and I didn't check on them and I thought they were sleeping, unquote.
00:11:14
Eden & Briana
However, prosecutors said Henry eventually admitted to authorities that she suffocated her kids one by one. Henry reportedly told detectives she put her, quote, hand over her one-year-old daughter's mouth as they were playing and held it there until she was dead." unquote oh my god The defendant's three-year-old son noticed and tried to intervene by hitting and yelling at his mother. According to the attorney's office, Henry then tried to grab her son, but the children's father and great aunt arrived, stopping her. Henry reportedly said she was going to put her son down for a nap before she brought him to a bedroom.
00:11:55
Eden & Briana
sang him a lullaby and suffocated him as the boy fought back. After killing her son, Henry allegedly fed her seven-month-old daughter a bottle until she fell asleep and then placed her hand over her baby's face until she stopped breathing. Prosecutors said Henry staged the children on a couch so it would appear they were sleeping. County Attorney Attorney Rachel Mitchell said, quote, I've dedicated my career to protecting children and it's hard to comprehend how any parent could take the life of their own. Thank you to the prosecution team for ensuring justice was served for these three innocent children, unquote. Does she, does she give any explanation, any reason
00:12:44
Eden & Briana
She's got a seven month old. Did she suffer some postpartum bullshit? Okay. I don't know. Like I read the

True Crime Case Updates

00:12:54
Eden & Briana
whole, I read the whole entirety of the article. So you don't have to find more information. I did read it all aloud and it was from true crime news.com. So it was all quoted.
00:13:09
Eden & Briana
I don't want to get in trouble. um Yeah. Wow. How can you look into your own child's eyes as you're hurting them? I don't understand. I will never understand. I would lay down my life for my children. I don't get it. and only I will never get it. There is help out there. We've said it before and we'll say it forever that there is help out there. i You are very correct. I do not like you right now. I know. but I love you, but I don't have to like you in this moment. Right. So what what else have we got today? So for updates, I'm leaving off where I left off um on episode 12.
00:14:00
Eden & Briana
the killing of Kayla Rawland. Oh, that was a rough one. Kayla was a six-year-old girl who got shot by her classmate, Jamel James. Jamel had brought a .32 caliber gun to school that he found at his uncle's house, which if you remember was a crack house. Oh yeah, that's right. um He shot her because she told him that she didn't like him.
00:14:25
Eden & Briana
um On the 20th anniversary of the shooting on February 29th, 2020, news media reported that Jamel was living in Bay City, Michigan. According to court records, he had been convicted at age 18 of a felony in connection with charges of second degree home invasion and larceny at a Bay City house on April 23rd, 2012. So he's still incarcerated.
00:14:54
Eden & Briana
Because he was released due to his age. Yep. And he was on, I believe, probation. No, I don't think he was on probation. But he ended up... So he's just re-offending. Yep. Over and over and over. Okay. Piece of shit. Um, episode 13 was Paris Lee Bennett. Our most listened to episode with 861 plays.
00:15:20
Eden & Briana
Paris was a 13 year old boy who stabbed his little sister Ella 17 times and killing her. As of today, he is still in prison. There are interviews of him on TikTok where he talks through what happened on that dreadful day. And his projected release date is February 4th, 2047. So he still has 22 years left.
00:15:50
Eden & Briana
Awesome. I will be dead before he hits the streets. That's cool. I don't want to be around when he hits. I mean, he he's, he's, and he's got mental issues. Yeah. He's a sociopath psychopath. He's been diagnosed with that. They should probably really think long and hard before he's released.
00:16:08
Eden & Briana
Which brings me to episode 14, Lionel Alexander Tate. Lionel was 13 when he was convicted of first-degree murder when he imitated professional wrestling moves on six-year-old Tiffany Eunuch. Oh, that's right. He is still incarcerated after he was released.
00:16:29
Eden & Briana
because he was released, and then he had like 10 or 20 years of probation, and then violated his probation when he did armed robbery on the pizza delivery man. Pizza delivery man, that's right, that's right. Yep, and he's still rotting away in prison, which good. Okay, getting what he deserves. Yes.
00:16:56
Eden & Briana
episode 15 which is army major David Shannon. Oh that one. David's wife planned his death and convinced her 15 year old do daughter Elizabeth to kill David. yeah These were the swingers that um this was our North Dakota man. Yes and they were partaking in swingers like on online and stuff and um shan er
00:17:28
Eden & Briana
um What's her name? Elizabeth and Joan. Joan fell in love with Jeffrey, the other one. So Shannon is still serving her life without Pearl sentence and Elizabeth, Elizabeth's earliest possible release date is in 2029.
00:17:53
Eden & Briana
That's not that long. That's four years. Yeah. Four years. I honest, yeah. So she was, if you guys listened to that episode, she was coerced. She was love bombed. Because remember she didn't get any attention from her mom at all. And then all of a sudden her mom, like in her mind, the only way to please her mom was to kill.
00:18:23
Eden & Briana
Yep. So I wonder if that was a one and done. I guess we'll find out when she gets released. We'll find out in four years. Yeah. I hope that she has gotten everything that she needs as far as help mentally. Yeah. Hopefully. Hopefully being in prison did what it needed to do and she can be an asset to society. Yeah.
00:18:49
Eden & Briana
We can only pray for that. Yeah, we can only pray for that because she was heavily influenced. It's not her fault that her mom was a piece of shit. But ultimately she did pull that trigger. Right. So hopefully she's done what she needed to do and will come out of it on the brighter side. Yeah.
00:19:11
Eden & Briana
Episode 16, which was Andrew Conley. Oh, Andrew was 17 when he killed his 10 year old brother in 2009 because he admired the TV show Dexter. As of 2022, the sentence with the sentence of life without parole stands. The Indiana court of appeals overturned his sentence of life without possibility of parole.
00:19:41
Eden & Briana
and directed Judge James Humphrey to re-sentence him. However, in a unanimous ruling, the Indiana Supreme Court rejected Andrew's appeal. So he's stuck forever. He's stuck. As of right now, he is stuck forever. Yep. I think they get an appeal what, every four years or something? i'm not I haven't really dug into the legal. Me neither. So I'm not sure.
00:20:08
Eden & Briana
I'm not sure how many appeals one gets and how often they can do it. I don't have a clue. yeah I don't claim to know anything about the law. Me neither. Episode 17, which was David Braum. David was 16 when he took an axe to his parents, brother, and sister after having an argument with his father.
00:20:33
Eden & Briana
David is now around 53 years old and still incarcerated. I couldn't find much updates on that. Right. he His parents were very religious, right? Was that the case? Yes. They were very religious and wouldn't let him listen to rock music, wouldn't let him cut his hair the way he wanted, wouldn't let him... Yeah, and the the his older brother actually got kicked out yeah and went on to do amazing, amazing things and then died young from cancer, wasn't it? I think so. This was the episode where we talked about letting kids express themselves express themselves and figure out where they belong in the world because the parents refused to let the kids do that because it wasn't in their wheelhouse.
00:21:29
Eden & Briana
yep okay yep Um, episode 18, which was Carol Edward Cole, who was a serial killer. There's no updates as he was sentenced to death in 1984 for his killings. Oh, okay. Um, and his execution has not been carried out. Yeah. Oh, it was. Yeah. There's no updates as he was sentenced to death in 1984. Well, being sentenced and actually carried out. It was just carried out. Okay. That's why I asked. yeah And I can't remember.
00:22:02
Eden & Briana
I think I did his last meal and everything. Um, episode 19, which was Cody Austin Posey. Yes. I for the life of me could not find any updates. No, because he's out. Yes. And he is a wonderful man.

Cody Austin Posey's Redemption

00:22:20
Eden & Briana
Remember I said that in the episode. The only thing that I could find was a Facebook post saying that had you not known his past,
00:22:31
Eden & Briana
You would never know that he would ever do anything like that. He is a wonderful, thoughtful. Yep. Well-being. Yep. That was the one. That was a good, that, that was a wonderful story. It was harsh. It was. And murder's not okay. And murder is not okay, but. Damn. Damn. He went through shit. He went through it, you guys. He went through it. And that is not an excuse for murder. There's, you know, but we kind of felt, I think we felt that he wouldn't last another four years.
00:23:02
Eden & Briana
yep without you know it was either now the the stepmom and the stepsister in they weren't i don't yeah i got nothing there yeah i got nothing episode 20 which will be my last update is james fairweather oh i can't remember this one off the top of my head james fairweather was age 15 when he murdered james atfield who had a brain injury and Nahid Almania, who was a Saudi student of the University of Essex. um He has had his appeals thrown out. He is still serving his sentence, which doesn't surprise me since the murders just happened in 2014. So not much updates, but he was the one that just wanted to go. That's right. That was kind of bullied and
00:24:02
Eden & Briana
Yes, I do remember this one. Yep. Yep. I'll be damned. That's all I have for today. I'm sorry that it wasn't an actual case. No, I'm going to deliver you a full blown episode tomorrow and it's going to be a doozy because you want to know what it is? No, I'm not going to tell you. Tell me. Nope. Fine. You're going to get a surprise. Surprise, surprise, surprise.
00:24:28
Eden & Briana
well Thank you for listening.

Do you think we're a little dark and dingy on the inside somewhere? I think everybody is. Or do you think that we are just so fascinated by the how do people do this shit? Well, I think a lot of it, we both grew up in like a medical field. So like the the medical part of it is what fascinates me, like how their brain works and the frontal lobe Right.

Like that kind of thing. um How we got on the subject of miners, I have no idea. But we've always loved. I know how we got on the miners. I went and searched to see what there wasn't anything of. Oh, yeah, that's right. That's right. Because I wanted to do a podcast. Yeah, because it really interested me.
00:25:54
Eden & Briana
being on that platform. And you wanted it to be a true crime because we do enjoy. Yep. Cause we have a background, a long background in not, not crime, but the law aspect. We have lawyers and district attorney and narcotics people. And yeah. And to like, I remember we would watch like, um, what's that? It was always on TV.
00:26:19
Eden & Briana
Unsolved mysteries? Yes. Unsolved mysteries. We always watch that together. We did. So it was just kind of funny. So I had to find a little niche in there that there wasn't a lot of. Yeah. Because I didn't want to cover everything that everybody else was already covering. Yeah. I wanted to find something that was... So when I came up with that, you were like, oh, yeah. Yeah. And then I did everything. It went from there. Yeah.
00:26:48
Eden & Briana
I remember calling you, do I push sign up? Do we do it? Yes, push the button. Fuck, okay. Oh my God, what are we doing? We have no idea what we're doing. We have no help. We appreciate everybody that stuck with us from day one through all of the audio issues, the video issues, sound quality, all of it. We're not, yes, we're technological.
00:27:16
Eden & Briana
We like technology. Do we know how to use it? Nope. Yes, precisely. So one day we will get it to where it's crisp. But until then, we love you. Yeah, just stick with us. We got this
