AI's Positive Impact on Personal Life

00:00:00
Speaker
If you haven't started incorporating AI into your personal life yet, you are missing out. While this is a show about how to incorporate AI into marketing and all the work-life stuff, I gotta to say, AI slowly slipped into my everyday personal life.
00:00:15
Speaker
And honestly... I can't go back. It is changing my life. It's changing my health and it's helping me in so many practical ways across the board that I really feel like it's changing my life.
00:00:27
Speaker
So in this video, I wanted to share with you 10 different ways I'm using AI on a personal level, everyday way stuff in order to help me so that you can get some inspiration on how it might be able to help you.
00:00:39
Speaker
The best part is the more you use it for the personal stuff, the more you end up finding great ideas to use in your marketing work. So this is a video for beginners who are not very familiar with Chachapiti, but I promise, even if you're an experienced user, you're probably going to find one or two ideas that you've never considered using AI for. So stick around through the whole video, and I have a warning at the end that you're going to want to find out about before you make a big mistake.
00:01:04
Speaker
So let's dive into it.

Introduction to Using AI Personally

00:01:06
Speaker
um um knowing Welcome back to the AI driven marketer. I'm Dan Sanchez. My friends call me Danchez.
00:01:14
Speaker
And yes, I wanted to share with you those 10 practical steps. But before I do, there's actually four different ways I want to talk about how to use AI chat GPT in particular that I think would be really helpful for beginners.
00:01:27
Speaker
So bear with me if you're already familiar with or just skip to the part where we actually start getting into the 10 different ways I'm using it in my life. I'm going to go ahead and share my screen real quick and jump into my own ChatGPT account. And you can use this with Gemini, with Grok, or a lot of different AI apps out there.

Ways to Interact with AI

00:01:43
Speaker
This is pretty standard stuff. And the 10 ways we're going to be talking about you can use with any of the AI apps too. I i tend to like ChatGPT and recommend that to most people.
00:01:52
Speaker
But there's four different ways you can interact with AI. And just know when I'm sharing the 10 ways, I'm usually talking about just one and we'll call out the other ones specifically. So what most people do is actually talk directly to ChatGPT via text.
00:02:07
Speaker
And you would text it straight like that. But what I usually do and what I recommend, even if you're a beginner, is to start talking to ChatGPT like you would an expert or like you would a friend or having an expert in your pocket that you're texting.
00:02:21
Speaker
And I like to do that through those text. There's essentially text to ChatGPT there and then there's dictate to ChatGPT and it works much better. You just click the little microphone button, whether you're on your phone or your desktop, and And then start communicating directly to ChatGPT in order to give it more details and a prompt.

AI in Problem Solving and Assistance

00:02:38
Speaker
Because let's be honest, if you're ever asking for help from an expert, you usually give them all the details. If you sit down with your doctor, you talk about before the thing, what happened, and the symptoms you're experiencing now.
00:02:50
Speaker
And some of the things that you think might be going on. If you're talking about any kind of problem, there's usually context around it. We need to get out of the Google phase of putting in a keyword and get into the AI phase of giving it the context it needs to help you with your particular problem or whatever you're looking for.
00:03:06
Speaker
So I highly recommend using this dictation. I'm going to go ahead and stop the dictation where it's going to then take my audio, transcribe it into text. But that's not the only way. We also have the AI voice mode where you can have a conversation directly with it here. I'm going to go ahead and stop.
00:03:22
Speaker
Remember, that's the little icon over here on the right side to use advanced voice mode. The microphone is dictate just to the right of it is advanced voice mode. If you want to have a direct conversation with it where you talk, it talks back instead of delivering text.
00:03:34
Speaker
And then more importantly, on the phone, if you go to advanced voice mode, You can not only get to advanced voice mode, but you can tap on the camera button so you can see it actually can see behind me in the studio now, giving it an eyes view into what's going on in your world.
00:03:49
Speaker
This is really helpful for some of the ways that I use ChatGPT on a regular basis. I'll call it out when I'm using the video camera in the iPhone. So like I said, those are the four different ways you can interact with ChatGPT or AI in general. There's text-to-text, dictate-to-text, voice-to-voice, and using video in advanced voice mode.
00:04:07
Speaker
Most of the time when I'm talking about using all these different things, I'm talking about dictating to text. I'm actually explaining a long thing to ChatGPT or AI, and it's giving me answers back. So keep that in mind as I go through these 10.
00:04:21
Speaker
So let's get started with number one. AI is fantastic at contextual problem solving. It is a better tool than Google. Google just gave you a bunch of links and said, go for it.
00:04:31
Speaker
Try to figure it out. It was like wandering through a maze where you had to click link by link or go through a maze and hit dead end by dead end until you found your way through and got the answer that you needed, or maybe just a partial answer.
00:04:43
Speaker
ChatGPT is like searching through a maze with GPS. You don't have to hit every dead end. It's going to give you the answer that you need. And if you want to go farther, you can just ask another question. It'll go farther and go deeper, faster.
00:04:54
Speaker
This is really important because every time you're trying to solve a problem, you don't have to go into research mode. You could just get the answer. For example, I've used this to crush the weeds in my lawn. I knew nothing about how to use chemicals or like fertilizers and all the things I needed to make my lawn look beautiful. It had been...
00:05:09
Speaker
unattended for a couple of years other than just mowing and watering and the weeds were taking over. I used Chachaputee to get a specific plan of attack for how to address the weeds in my lawn and I gave it the context of like, hey, this is the grass I have. These are the weeds showing up.
00:05:25
Speaker
What should I do? And it gave me a maintenance schedule, gave me links to stuff I should buy on Amazon and it's been working and my lawn is looking much better now. I've used it to fix my ice maker. This is really helpful because sometimes you can enter the specific model of the thing that you have.
00:05:39
Speaker
Whatever things you're troubleshooting, whether it's hardware, software, your camera, your fridge, your car, just tell it the specific make and model and what you're telling it to. Just like if you were talking to if I was talking to an expert that specialized in fixing ice makers in a fridge, I could be like, hey, this is the model I have. This is the sound it's making. It's turning on, but the ice isn't getting crushed.
00:06:00
Speaker
what's going on and it will try help you troubleshoot it step by step the ice maker was fixed i never had to call the fridge company in order to send out a repairman to charge me 350 just to plug a new switch back in right i've used it to fix my car headlamp and all kinds of different things in order to get me through my problems faster i call it contextual problem solving because unlike google i don't just type in a keyword i can give it the exact details of the problem i'm dealing with You can even use it for software. Again, if you use your iPhone and turn on that camera mode, you can help it see what you're seeing on the screen and be like, hey, I'm stuck in Keynote and the little grid lines won't line up right.
00:06:38
Speaker
What setting am I getting wrong here? And you can troubleshoot it together. It might not be right on the first try, but because it's well trained on all the different kind of software we use, it's going to be able to help you find the answer much faster and give you ideas.

AI in Curiosity and Knowledge Enhancement

00:06:50
Speaker
and navigate the menu system and all the settings or the back of your car or whatever your heck you're trying to fix so much faster because it's almost like having a professional on call 24 7 365 you can text them dictate to them pull them up on facetime and show them what you're seeing in order to get the answers you need to get unstuck so much faster and that's just number one number two is finding the answer to why in anything yes we all wonder why things are the way they are we don't have to wonder anymore we can literally just ask jgpt or ai the why behind whatever it is that we're doing why are cameras usually black why this why that why is the sky blue the proverbial question that all kids ask you no longer have to wonder about any of these things
00:07:40
Speaker
Anytime, and I'm a very curious person, anytime I have a question about like, why are things the way they are? Why does the president have a four-year term and the senators only have two-year terms? You know, whatever it is that you have a question on, you can get the answer for immediately.
00:07:54
Speaker
And it is just so satisfying to be able to learn and understand the world around you in the context of where everything came from. From important things down to just little shower thoughts.
00:08:05
Speaker
We don't have to wonder anymore. We can know. Number three, this has been a big one for me lately, but helping me with my nutrition and fitness goals. Usually you'd have to have a personal trainer to ask all kinds of questions about your routine, what you should eat, what you shouldn't eat, what you're trying to do for your goals.
00:08:21
Speaker
But now you can just tell AI where you're at, like where you're at, how much you weigh, like what your goals are, what equipment you have or don't have. And generally what's in your fridge, if you can just take a picture and send it the stuff in your fridge and it can help start figuring it out for you what you can and can't do.
00:08:38
Speaker
This is important for me because I thought I under understood nutrition until I started trying to figure out like, wait, what has fat in it And what has protein in it? Like, do these two things have together? Like, what's the best thing for this? What's the best thing for that? And these all of a sudden you can start getting really clear and fairly accurate answers to your specific situation.
00:08:56
Speaker
You can actually talk to it about the food you currently have or go grocery shopping and buy better alternatives for things because it understands your situation as long as you tell it. That's why I like the dictate feature because you can actually explain your situation in a way that's fast and meaningful and helps it a calibrate its its ah its answers to you.
00:09:15
Speaker
So I highly recommend if you haven't tried this for like nutrition and fitness stuff, give it a shot. If you're experiencing pain because you're running and your knees starting to hurt, tell it to it and see what you can learn about it.
00:09:27
Speaker
I still also, of course, recommend talking to a doctor because ChatGPT can get some things wrong. And for big decisions, you're still going to want to talk to a doctor about all these different things and bring them in. But ChatGPT is really helpful for getting all the little tiny decisions that your doctor can't help you with.
00:09:43
Speaker
uh, what, what foods are best for this, what foods you can help with that. yeah like It's all these little tiny decisions, which always made it hard for me to stick to a fitness plan because I didn't understand the nuance. I want to understand why is creatine helpful for lifting like, and actually understanding it instead of just being told to do something, I can actually get the head knowledge I need to stick through something and do better. So if you haven't tried it for nutrition and fitness, highly recommend 10 out of 10.
00:10:09
Speaker
It's helping me reach my goals faster and actually push farther than I ever thought I could go. The fourth way I'm using AI in my life is navigating crucial

AI in Communication and Content Creation

00:10:18
Speaker
conversations. We've all had those hard conversations. And it's one of my favorite books called Crucial Conversations.
00:10:24
Speaker
And the book rightly said that a lot of the best things in life are on the other side of a hard conversation. that promotion you want to ask for, that co-worker that's taking you down and you need to have a hard conversation with them, that email you got that o made you tense up as soon as you got it.
00:10:40
Speaker
AI can help assist you in any of those hard conversations. I got a hard email from a boss just months ago, and i remember feeling tense because of it, and I replied to it, and it wasn't the nicest email.
00:10:53
Speaker
It wasn't mean either, but it would it felt tense. I asked ChatGPT to help me rewrite it, and oh my gosh, Not only did it make it sound so much softer, easier to receive for my boss, it actually made me feel so much better.
00:11:08
Speaker
Because I'm like, I realized the fact that I was feeling tensed up is because I felt like I was trapped in a corner saying yes to something I didn't want to say yes to. When ChatGPT rewrote my email, all of a sudden my emotions diffused and I was like,
00:11:21
Speaker
Yes, this is the right answer, and it's giving me a way to accomplish what I need to accomplish without so making a sacrifice in a way that was approachable, in a way that was actually congenial and could get things done and still be a team player.
00:11:38
Speaker
I didn't see the way forward, but ChatGPT helped me find it. It's really good at trying to navigate all those different hard conversations, not to just support you in your anger or support you in your the story you're telling yourself, but providing you with maybe their perspective, providing you with different solutions you can tease out, different ways to approach it, different tones you can bring or different angles you can bring to the conversation in order to create those win-win scenarios we all need to create with those crucial conversations.
00:12:07
Speaker
What kind of hard conversations are you holding back on having now that maybe you should have a conversation with ChatGPT about in order to find out more of your options that you didn't even know existed? That's what I'm talking about. Number five, of course, is content creation. Now, I said I was talking about personal life, and that's true, but I create content all the time. I create content for my kids because I homeschool.
00:12:28
Speaker
I create content as a member of my church because sometimes I teach Bible studies and lead life groups, but I create content all the time. A lot of us do. We're writing personal emails, we're posting stuff to Facebook, we're using content as a normal means of communications because it's the 21st century.
00:12:44
Speaker
We're all in a digital system and we're using social media and email and text messages all the time. So I use Chat Chippity to help me come up with drafts all the time or at least give me ideas in order to teach from or guide me guide me in the things that I'm trying to communicate with the world beyond just work, beyond just marketing.
00:13:02
Speaker
It's helpful for coming up with drafts of all kinds of things. Way number six is using it for self-reflection.

AI in Self-Reflection and Creativity

00:13:09
Speaker
Actually taking a deeper look at yourself. Of course, if it you've been having conversations with something like Grok or ChatGPT for a while now, has a memory of all those conversations.
00:13:18
Speaker
So you can... Ask it things like, hey, based on what you know about me, what would you recommend are some movies that you think I would like? Based on what you know about me, what would you recommend for a book to help me overcome this habit that I'm trying to kick?
00:13:31
Speaker
Based on what you know about me, you can do that a lot to help you find personal tailored advice based on the conversations it's had with you because it after a while, it it kind of knows you pretty well. Now, I will say that it can get a bit navel-gazy. You can spend a little bit more too much time looking inward in order to to find answers to help you help others outward.
00:13:50
Speaker
So be careful with this one. But I still find that it's a helpful tool. And every once in a while, I pause and reflect, look inward to find a solution to help me with something on the outside. Number seven, creative ideation.
00:14:02
Speaker
Every once in a while, we get stuck. We get stuck trying to figure out what to do next in any kind of thing. And it's not even a specific problem. We're just like, just feel stuck in this situation. I don't know what to do.
00:14:13
Speaker
Chat2PT is great at coming up with ideas. Let me give you an example. Just recently, I've been designing our guest room to be, we called the adventure room in our house, but it wasn't feeling very adventurous.
00:14:24
Speaker
Like I had a map on the wall and I had some furniture that was more adventurous, but it just wasn't there. And I'm not an interior designer. I used to be a graphic designer, so kind of have a sense of what I want, but I just don't have the talent to know what goes where and when.
00:14:40
Speaker
So I actually took a picture of the room and said, ChatGPT, help me make this room more adventurous. It made some suggestions and then I said, show me what it looks like. And sure enough, it gave me a photo of what the room could look like.
00:14:55
Speaker
I was like, fantastic, help me to find all the links to all the stuff you're recommending I put in the room from Amazon. And it did a great job of sourcing all the links on Amazon. It wasn't perfect, and I might have to shop around for different colors or patterns that I liked, but it honestly got me unstuck.
00:15:09
Speaker
It came up with ideas to show me a reality that i could never consider by myself. I didn't have the skills to be able to see what could be. So ChatGPT is good like that for a lot of different areas of life.
00:15:21
Speaker
I'm using it all the time to come up with possible ideas, ideas possible solutions that I never would have considered before because I didn't even think to ask. Now that I have ChatGPT, I can actually ask it like, hey, I'm dreaming up some new scenarios here and I feel like I have more than A and B.
00:15:38
Speaker
Those are good ones, but di me give me five to 12 more options here of what I could be looking at. And maybe A and B are the right solutions, but I'd feel a lot more comfortable picking one of those if I was looking at 12 good options instead of just two.
00:15:52
Speaker
ChatGPT is fantastic for helping you come up with ideas to give you more options in order to pick the right one. Way eight is individualized learning.
00:16:03
Speaker
Yes, ChatTPT actually came up with a whole feature around the learning. If you actually go to it, like you would go to Agents or Canvas, there's a learning mode in there now that you can use to learn about anything.
00:16:14
Speaker
For example, tapping back into that fitness one, I actually did want to understand what Create Team was and why what the purpose of it was. So i actually went into learning mode. i'm like, hey, I'm learning about creatine. This is what I know about it so far.
00:16:26
Speaker
Can you help me understand it more? And what it does is it in the learning mode, it doesn't go into just explain it to me. It actually asks me questions to draw out more of what I know, test my knowledge, explain some things, and then ask some more questions like a good tutor would.
00:16:41
Speaker
This learning mode within ChatGPT is invaluable because sometimes you don't want to just have a quick fact. You actually want to burn into your memory to know why so that you can build on that knowledge and understand more at a higher level.
00:16:52
Speaker
So the learning mode in ChatGPT is very powerful and i highly recommend checking it out to learn about anything that you're working on. whether it's marketing, a life thing, learning how to be a better parent, a better spouse.
00:17:04
Speaker
All those things are great ways to grow in life. And ChatGPT can be an assistant and a tutor to helping you do it better. Number nine is using AI music to enhance your mood.

AI in Music and Scenario Planning

00:17:17
Speaker
put get you into the right mode, I guess, or use it to actually learn something new, kind of live that individualized learning path, but in a different way. With tools like suno.com, you can actually come up with whatever music you like. You really like a certain song, you can come up with a bunch of songs just like that one in the same kind of tune and track and create your own custom playlists anymore.
00:17:37
Speaker
About a year ago, I published a whole episode on how I used Suno to publish my own album. But really, I published my own album because I wanted to understand the Bible better. I wanted to understand Scripture better. So I took whole passages of Scripture, specifically Psalms, set it to like a trap rap with a great beat to it, and made it a workout track.
00:17:56
Speaker
So while I'm working out now, I'm actually listening to Scripture, reflecting on it, thinking about it because it's the music in my ears, and I better remember it because music is just catchy and easier to remember. So that's a way I'm actually using AI to learn something that's important to me and turning it into music so that I can reflect on it, learn about it.
00:18:13
Speaker
What's something that you know you need to do better at or something you need to not just understand like a hard skill, but like a mindset you can use and put it into your music. What's the mindset you want to develop inside yourself that you can set to music and essentially use it to brainwash yourself in that mindset?
00:18:30
Speaker
I know it's kind of kind of a weird thing that I'm putting out here, but I honestly think it's really helpful because we all have mindsets that we know we need to have, but we don't get enough of it into us. We don't meditate on it. And music is a great way to get it into our minds in order to pull it down into our hearts. We can remember it. We can actually practice it and reflect it throughout our lives.
00:18:50
Speaker
And number 10, the last way I want to talk about was through using AI to do scenario planning. Scenario planning is a discipline of just predicting what the is going to come in the future. And oftentimes when you're doing scenario planning, you're taking two potential events.
00:19:05
Speaker
Maybe the economy is going up and AI plateaus. What does that future scenario look like where AI is not doing well, but the economy is doing or the reverse economy is not doing well and AI is doing really well, right?
00:19:17
Speaker
What does that future look like two years from now, five years from now, 10 years from now? What does that look like for you and your business? What does that look like for your family? That's what scenario planning is all about is coming up with hypothetical scenarios, maybe three or four of them, and then being able to account for all the things that could go wrong or the opportunities that might come up and go right.
00:19:37
Speaker
so that you can be most prepared now for future realities. Big businesses do this all the time, but now you can do it too because ChatGPT is so good at giving you the hypothetical scenarios.
00:19:48
Speaker
ten Two years out, five years out, ten years out. You just tell it the different situations. It helps paint the picture, and then you can plan strategically, even using AI, to figure out what to do now to better maximize the opportunity or get rid of the risk that might come with some of the downside of those futures.
00:20:07
Speaker
So scenario planning is a very powerful way to use AI that I wish more people took advantage of. So those are the 10 ways that I'm using ChatGPT and I wanted to leave with one warning.

Caution: AI's Sycophantic Nature

00:20:16
Speaker
AI is a fantastic tool, but there is a dark side to it.
00:20:20
Speaker
If you're using it a ton, there is a slight chance that you can get caught up into some destructive patterns that with AI. ChatGPT in particular is really bad with this because AI wants to please you. It wants to help you. It wants to be agreeable, which is why every idea you give it is generally like, oh, that's a great idea. Oh, I can see your viewpoint.
00:20:41
Speaker
Oh, that's a really good insight. We now know this as sycophancy. It's the eagerness and agreeableness that AI has. This is generally a good thing because it makes it more pleasant to work with.
00:20:53
Speaker
But it can create some really bad cycles because it becomes a very strong confirmation bias machine. So if you come to it with a preconceived story or something that's going on in your life, it's likely going to reinforce it and take this story that you're telling yourself and reinforce it with all the facts and logics you need to create a vicious cycle to help you run down a path that is bad.
00:21:18
Speaker
The things you need to do to protect yourself against that is be aware that it does that. Ask it for critical and like feedback. Actually invite criticism to your plan, your idea, or your the story you're telling yourself. is And bring people around you that if you're like, I don't know about this, bring another person to look at it with you, even looking at the chat GPT conversations with you in order to keep you safe.
00:21:43
Speaker
So while I think AI is a fantastic tool for enhancing your life, for quite a few people out there, you have to be careful of this because it can suck you in, it can cause delusions, and it can only accelerate the confirmation bias that you're already building.
00:21:59
Speaker
Still, AI is a fantastic tool if you learn to use it well and use it wisely so that you can move faster, build better, and think smarter. I'll see you in the next episode.
