What the Blob?!

Beneath the Evergreens
Avatar
26 Plays4 months ago

In August of 1994, the town of Oakville, Washington fell asleep to the sound of a familiar rainstorm but woke up to anything but rain. Instead, strange gelatinous blobs coated cars, lawns, and rooftops as far as the eye could see. At first, locals chalked it up to odd weather… until people, and their pets, began falling mysteriously ill. What fell from the sky that night? Join us on this episode of Beneath the Evergreens to find out.

Washington's Creepy History

00:00:52
Speaker
Welcome to episode number one of Beneath the Evergreens. Woohoo! So excited. Very excited. Yes. This has been a long time coming. More than a long time.
00:01:03
Speaker
um I mean, i wont I personally wanted to start a podcast like four years ago and then just never did it. And then all of a sudden i was like, why don't me and Anna do it? I feel like it was very much meant to be.
00:01:14
Speaker
Like, and we've both been true crime connoisseurs for very, very long time. um and here we are especially in the great state of washington always hear everything comes back to washington and i never quite believed it and i've been paying attention and it's like little a little creepy little creepy
00:01:34
Speaker
little creepy but i love it ah so i feel like all the greats come from here and by greats i mean horrible awful people right i remember growing up and like hearing about all the big names like the green river killer and the ted bundy's and like all the weird personal connections. Like i feel like a lot of people who are like families are from Washington, like have some connection and it's just kind of ah part of growing up, which maybe it's good. Maybe it's not, but everyone's aware of serial killers from a young age. over here Seriously. I remember like when I was younger and we'd be driving, i think it's one 67 and then you go from Puyallup and then you go like up and towards Auburn and then you have to go over the green river,
00:02:13
Speaker
at some point and little like highway plaque that says green river i vividly remember like looking over and being like oh my god is there gonna be a body in there like vividly which is so morbid for a child to do right like we grew up with it it's in our dna yeah no sure i remember going to like soccer games that were like over by the green river and the same thing like oh like is like is there anything over there and like my grandma lived right next to the green my remember like oh my god i was probably far too young but like Mine were my aunt being like, yeah, you know, my best friend Carrie, like she was like a second aunt to me. Like, yeah, I know she used to work with the Grunover Killer. She's been to his house. And i was like, oh, that's interesting, kind of normal, like whatever.
00:02:55
Speaker
That is, oh, actually, fun fact. I went to the Meeker Mansion a couple weeks ago and they have like all of these plaques of um daffodil princesses.
00:03:06
Speaker
You've heard of the daffodil parade, I think, yeah. Yeah. that's Is that Puyallup or Sumner? Or both. So like all the schools like vote on like the Daffodil princess in high school. and then you get like a a scholarship, I think.
00:03:17
Speaker
Don't quote me on that. That's what it is. But they have all the these girls up. And um one of them, I don't think she was a princess, but I think she was part of a group. It was actually like one of his victims.
00:03:30
Speaker
Oh, shit. Yeah. so So food for you maybe to look at or me or whoever wants to take on that one. But it's I was like, wow, that's like really close to my hometown.

Dark Historical Events

00:03:40
Speaker
Yeah. It's weird how close something is to you when you when you feel so removed from it. And like it makes it a little more real. Especially when like they talk about, you know, this is where like their hunting grounds were or whatever. and it's like, oh, like that's just up the street. Like that is a place you drive and you go into the airport. Like.
00:04:00
Speaker
Bundy, like Lake Sammamish Park, like every, it's all these things that are still there and you can still like drive to it. And it's, it feels so strange that it's normal now. It's business as usual. But at one point, this was like, this was hair being terrorized by someone horrific a horrific ah horrific event happened here it's kind of crazy like even um this is something that i definitely want to cover in future but even um the puyot fairgrounds or washington fairgrounds now if you're nasty needs to be a concentration camp
00:04:32
Speaker
Yeah, yeah. Just go there and they hang out and it's like so much fun, but the history is awful. But I feel like that's just like the story of America though. Like everywhere you go, our history is awful. And we just like cover it up and and and put a shiny bill on it. Like nothing to see here, folks.
00:04:47
Speaker
But have you heard of the, oh, the so the book is called Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet. I haven't. It's, so there's this hotel in the International District in Seattle.
00:04:59
Speaker
Oh, I can't remember the name of it right now, but They have great tea room and, you know, I don't know how far after World War II, but they found ton of belongings of Japanese families that were living in the ID that had put all of their stuff in the basement of this hotel before they were sent to concentration camps in, you know, Puyallup or Missoula or wherever else.
00:05:23
Speaker
um But they weren't able to come back. Either they something happened to them or they were just in different locations. They weren't able to come back to Seattle. um But there were a ton of belongings left in there. That's devastating. I genuinely hate that.
00:05:35
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. But this book was really cool because it kind of talks about, you know, the modern day finding that stuff and then the history of like who people that left it there. And so it's it's a fiction book, but it's talking about real events. i feel like I need to read that immediately because that sounds it's like i feel like that's a good fall book.
00:05:55
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. but pan um yeah The Panama Hotel is the the actual hotel. Their tea room is amazing. Tons of teas. It's beautiful and inside. right. Well, I feel like we're gonna have to go on a little tea date there because that sounds amazing.

What the Blob? Mystery Begins

00:06:08
Speaker
Yes. All righty. Well, do you want to hear a cool story? Always. All right. Well, in true Jessie fashion, I've named it something so quirky and so fun that you're gonna love it.
00:06:21
Speaker
It's called What the Blob? ha, ha, ha, ha
00:06:27
Speaker
Very on brand. So today I've got a story that's equal parts mystery, science experiment, and mild alien conspiracy. And it all starts in a quiet little Washington town.
00:06:42
Speaker
So let's rewind back to August 6th, 1994. How old were you in 1994? I'm going to put you on the spot. I was not born. Holy shit.
00:06:53
Speaker
Okay. My parents had just gotten married. For the rest of us old folks here, the geriatrics in the crowd as well. 1994 to me, like reminds me of like KB Toys and Toys R Us and like the Hermit. Wait, sorry, side note. You're old enough to like actively remember 1994? Yeah.
00:07:12
Speaker
yeah I was born in 89, I'm old as sh**. I wish this was a video podcast because if everyone could see the look on Anna's face, I'm going to be offended or like happy that I don't look that old.
00:07:29
Speaker
I just always think that we're we're closer in age. What can I say? As you have a whole life with the like a whole family and you have your life together. have a whole but No, I mean, you've got it together too. so But anyway, 1994 me is like...
00:07:48
Speaker
You talk about like Sasquatch or there's like UFOs and everything was like almost jokey, at least from my point of view, it was like almost like a joke, but there was like these, this realness about it. And this story kind of lends itself to that. Like what is actually happening here? And like this coming of age of like, wait, when we say UFO, are we, is that like a joke? Ha ha. Or like people are actually experiencing these things. And I feel like it's kind of, this story really lends itself to that. So Here in Washington, one thing that we do know very much is rain.
00:08:21
Speaker
We're built for it. Yes. It's like an emotional emotional, physical, and spiritual thing. And you know the night of August 6, 1994 was no different.
00:08:32
Speaker
In fact, it might've been better because you know when you're in the middle of a summer in Washington, it can get a little monotonous. like You want a little fresh breeze. You want some cold air. And August, you know that's one of our hotter months.
00:08:46
Speaker
so The people of Oakville, Washington were really excited that it was ah it was turning into a stormy day. The clouds are rolling in and it's and it's just perfect.
00:08:57
Speaker
So like I mentioned, this the where this takes place is in Oakville, Washington. That's about 30 miles outside of Olympia in Grays Harbor County. um And they're all, you know, getting ready for this storm.
00:09:10
Speaker
So the wind's picking up. The air is smelling like wet cedar. People are grabbing their cozy blankets, curling up by the heater of the fireplace, having a good book. And then the rain starts really coming down.
00:09:23
Speaker
And people are like, oh, the ASMR that's happening right now. I love it. I'm going to go. so I'm going go sit in my bed I'm going to going drift off to sleep. Well, as people are going to sleep, they start hearing the rain really starting to pour.
00:09:35
Speaker
You know, the type of rain that's like slamming into your window. oh yeah and it's just like a beautiful moment. And it just, there's there's nothing better than when you sleep, when you have that sound. It's like so really, absolutely.
00:09:46
Speaker
It's so beautiful. Well, most people are sleeping great. They're in their beds. They're all tucked in Everything's great. Except for one guy. And this guy is Officer David Lacey. He's on patrol in the streets of Oakville.
00:10:00
Speaker
He's trying to make sure that no one is, you know, getting up to anything crazy. He's protecting us. He's he's doing what he needs to do. At around 3 He's out on patrol, like I said, and something starts hitting his windshield.
00:10:14
Speaker
And he's thinking it's just heavy rain, but it's like a little thicker than rain. And it almost looks like hail because of the shape of it. And it's hitting his windshield, but it's not quite bouncing off like you would expect hail to.
00:10:28
Speaker
And so he does what anyone else would do, and he cranks the wipers and immediately regrets every life choice. Because as soon as he hits so the wipers, instead of clearing off the glass like it should, it's just like smearing this thick glue across the windscreen. It's almost like ah bug massacre happened. So do you remember Men in Black, like the opening scene, where the dragonfly is like, did it i don't know the actual...
00:10:56
Speaker
music there, but it's going, it's going, it's going, and then it's like smacks into the windscreen, and then they turn on the windshield wipers, and it's like smeared all over. That's what I'm envisioning this is this is like. So he can't see.
00:11:09
Speaker
because the entire windscreen is just completely covered. So he pulls over, puts his gloves on, he gets out of the car. He grabs a little test sample. He's testing it and he's he's feeling around.
00:11:21
Speaker
And it's not, it's sticky, but it doesn't smell. It kind of looks like jelly or like, I'm also envisioning when I've seen pictures, it kind of looks like hand sanitizer, like those small bottles, like that clear kind of liquid, but it's not running like hand sanitizer. It's like like thick gloss.
00:11:38
Speaker
but And it's also all over his car. And it's he's not noticing like any paint peeling or anything like that. And mind you, it's still raining outside. So he's it's coming down and it's hitting him, but it doesn't stink and it's not burning him.
00:11:51
Speaker
So he's kind of like, okay, what do I do? So he calls his friend, explains what's happening. And his friend's like, well, I don't know what to do. And he's like, well, I don't know what to

Health Effects and Investigation

00:12:00
Speaker
do. i mean, i mean who would you call?
00:12:02
Speaker
If you are driving down the road and you've got glue all over your car, what would you... i am pulling over, calling my dad for help. I'm calling my dad or like I'm calling the cops, right? if So if you are the cops, like,
00:12:16
Speaker
yeah You're like, well, I guess it's all good here. I'm just going to get it. Unless something else happens. So that's what he does. He doesn't call his dad, but he just like shrugs it off. He's like, well, we'll figure it out.
00:12:27
Speaker
So it's the sun starts to come up. It's the next morning. People are starting to wake up in town and they're making their morning cups of coffee. They're looking outside. and and Mind you, Oakville is a very rural town. So there's like a lot of farms, a lot of people with big property.
00:12:44
Speaker
A lot of people have like chickens and stuff like that. So it's not like a slow morning as you would see in an urban town. It's definitely like people are getting up and doing stuff. And when they're getting outside, they're noticing...
00:12:56
Speaker
There's these little balls, like an Orby explosion all over their yards. it's on There's this goo on their lawns. It's in their driveway. It's on the roof. It's in the plants. It's on the cars. It's coated everywhere.
00:13:10
Speaker
It's these like weird jelly-like blobs. And one resident in particular, Dottie, she finds that her entire farm is covered. She goes outside to to go check her chickens, get the eggs for her morning breakfast.
00:13:24
Speaker
She's got her loyal farm cat in tow because all farmers need a good farm cat. And they walk outside. The cat it starts playing with it. She's like kind of poking it and she's like... what is this? What is happening? So, you know, what any small town person would do and actually, well, not just small town, any person ever would do is immediately call the person that's closest to you.
00:13:47
Speaker
And for Dottie, that was her daughter, Sunny. So she calls and she's like, um, it rained jello last night. Get over to my house. I don't know what's happening.
00:13:58
Speaker
So study is in route and I can only imagine it's 1994, right? There's no social media. You don't have Tik TOK to like, Oh yeah. Right. You're in a small town. What's the number one thing that's probably happening right now.
00:14:11
Speaker
Every, some kid just through Jell-O everywhere. Kid through Jell-O everywhere. They're like, Oh, this is a big prank. I guarantee you those phone, those corded phone lines. working overtime. I bet people are like, hey, Barb, but did God sneeze on your begonias? Or like, is it the Jell-O apocalypse? Like something, some dad some dad somewhere is saying, oh, it's the Jell-O apocalypse, right?
00:14:34
Speaker
Like can only imagine this is like the front page news. It would be front page news nowadays. So like, I bet it's just all over the place. So here's where our story kind of also gets good because Sunny isn't just, you know, a regular shmegular who's going to gossip about this.
00:14:52
Speaker
She's she's a curious cat. um She works in occupational health and safety. And I mean, both you and I come from manufacturing backgrounds like. OSHA, they're serious, right? They're ducks in a row. they They want to know what's happened. So essentially what I'm trying to say is her brain is like a portable lab.
00:15:10
Speaker
She's a woman in STEM. She's curious. she's She wants to get to the bottom of what this is. So her and her brother, who's a paramedic, grab some gloves and some jars and head out and start collecting samples of what this goo is.
00:15:23
Speaker
They collect about 15 samples.
00:15:27
Speaker
And Sunny starts running some tests. She's really committed to the scientific method. So she checks to see if these blobs will dissolve in water. They don't. She checks to see if they dissolve in alcohol, which they don't.
00:15:42
Speaker
I really wanted to know what kind of alcohol. I was like, are we talking like whiskey? Are we talking like ice? What kind of alcohol are we talking? But either way i couldn't figure it out. But it doesn't dissolve in alcohol.
00:15:53
Speaker
Then she decides to light it on fire and see, is this something that's flammable? Like, is it like petroleum? Like, what is, what is this? But it's in flammable. doesn't um I love the the jump to fire. Like, let me just set this test sample on fire.
00:16:10
Speaker
Versailles. Exactly. I want to know what the scene was. Did they go to like some, did they go to, do they have a fire pit? Or are they doing this like in the middle of the kitchen? Like, where are they doing I would like to, I would like to know.
00:16:23
Speaker
But it doesn't light on fire, so they don't have to worry about a bonfire. um But it does float in water. So this, make note of that, because that's important for later. OK. And at first, they're just thinking, oh, this is kind of weird. It's probably like a prank or something.
00:16:39
Speaker
It's gross, but it's weird. It's nothing to worry about too much. But then things kind of start to take a turn. Within a couple of days of this incident, Sunny's mom, Dottie, gets very sick, like severely sick.
00:16:54
Speaker
She's not calling her daughter like she normally does. And so her daughter gets worried. She goes over to her mom's house and her mom is laid up like she can't move. She's got vertigo that's really, really bad. So when she stands up, she feels like really just, she can't walk.
00:17:09
Speaker
She's really nauseous and she's, she's very, very weak. So, you know, Sonny's brother's a paramedic. She calls him, he comes over and he's like, no, we need to get her the hospital. So, you know, it's like pretty bad because a paramedic knows what a hospital can treat when they can't. So they take them to the hospital and Dottie is not the only one who's sick. Remember officer Lacey?
00:17:33
Speaker
He gets really sick. He gets really bad, like nausea, diarrhea. It takes him out for a couple of days. He doesn't go to the hospital, but he is really sick. And other residents are reporting the same symptoms.
00:17:45
Speaker
They're all kind of, how interesting, weird flu, weird cold. Yeah, it's really weird. And then the animals start dying. So, trigger warning for that. I probably should have said that at first. But ah yeah, Dottie's cat, she didn't make it.
00:18:02
Speaker
And she was playing with this goo. And so Sunny's like, hey, I know science and I know coincidences and coincidences are probably not a thing. So she takes one of her blob samples and she takes it to the doctor.
00:18:15
Speaker
And she says, hey, right before my mom got sick, she came in contact with this goo, these, these blobs, like they fell from the sky. Can you check it and see if maybe this is, I don't know, something that we should be worried about.
00:18:31
Speaker
So the the doctor's like, you know what? Actually, that's a great idea. I'm going to take it. I'm going to have the hospital lab review it. And that's when things get kind of weird. So a hospital is only set up, you know, it's not a true lab where they can test a variety of things. They're kind of solo about, you know, blood work, urine work. Like it's very...
00:18:53
Speaker
compartmentalize about what they can test for. So as they're testing it, they're testing for things like red blood cells, white blood cells, flus, viruses, things like that. um And the hospital reports that the blos blobs contain human white blood cells, but the material that these white blood cells are in is not human.
00:19:13
Speaker
What? Yeah. So let me say that one more time for those that didn't hear in the back. So the blobs itself is not human. It's not a human material, but inside of this material is human white blood cells.
00:19:28
Speaker
Like, excuse me. How does that happen? i don't know. Like, are these ghost boogers? Like, is this like a zombie? Sorry. what What exactly is this material? Right? Like what is, is this some type of, i don't know.
00:19:42
Speaker
you know, the Petri dishes and they have the media on the inside and it's like that weird gelatin and you can grow stuff on it. Was it like something that? Or why is there just like this weird globular material and there's, and there's white blood cells inside.
00:19:55
Speaker
So not only do I want answers, but so did Sunny. She wanted real answers. Like, okay, what is this? Should we be more concerned? So since she has a background in OSHA,
00:20:07
Speaker
She starts going through the list of agencies. So she starts with the department of agriculture. She does this because like I said, this is a rural area. A lot of people, you know, have food that they grow themselves or, you know, there's mass producing farms around here. They've got milk cows and dairy cows and which are the same thing. I realized that.
00:20:27
Speaker
And then they've got corn and all all of these other things. And so the department of agriculture is, you know, and next step that makes sense. So, They're uninterested. They're not worried about this.
00:20:39
Speaker
They're like, you know what? We're not going to do anything about it. So she's like, okay, weird. So let me call the national weather service. So she calls them to see, was it a weird weather phenomenon? Is it like a tornado that that pulled something from from a nearby lake? Or like, could it have been just a, I don't know, is this something to do with the weather?
00:21:02
Speaker
And they're like, no, we just reported just a normal rainstorm, nothing too crazy. um It's nothing nothing that we can help you with. So she's starting to get a little frustrated.
00:21:14
Speaker
So she calls the Department of Ecology next and she delivers a sample and they say, you know what, since you deliver the sample, we'll go ahead and we'll try to test it. We'll see. We'll try and see what it is.
00:21:25
Speaker
And so they say they run some tests and they say it's biological. So they run some further tests and it they think it might be jellyfish related, like not fully jellyfish, but it's jellyfish related.
00:21:40
Speaker
I don't know if you know anything about Oakville, but it's 30 minutes, 30 miles like south, southeast of Olympia. so it's about 40 miles from ocean shores, which is the nearest ocean to the town.
00:21:53
Speaker
So if it's something jellyfish related, it would have had to travel a minimum of 40 miles to get there, which is, ah, like how is a jellyfish? I don't understand.
00:22:05
Speaker
So this kind of concerns are a little more. And like I said before, this is 1994 entire town was like rained, down upon with like blobs and goo.
00:22:16
Speaker
So they're all like, what is going on? People are getting sick. We want answers. So what do they do? They go to the town hall, they start involving, you know, politicians, the mayor, they're trying to appeal to them to say, Hey, can you guys figure out what this is? Because it's weird.
00:22:31
Speaker
We're like a little uncomfortable about it. Can you figure some things out? But they're saying, unless someone dies from this, which there's no proof that this is actually making people sick, it could just be a coincidence.
00:22:43
Speaker
There's nothing we can do. So therefore raining blobs are not a municipal, municipal problem. So just so you know, if you ever get caught in a blob storm, don't call the local mayor.
00:22:56
Speaker
So truly noted. Yeah. So at this point, Sunny is like, what is going on? I don't know who else to reach out to, but then she remembers the department of health.
00:23:09
Speaker
Hey, this could be a health concern right it's something jellyfield that fell from the sky my mom touched now she's sick there's other people getting sick so let's see if the department of health will test this

Government Involvement and Theories

00:23:20
Speaker
and this is when Microbiologist, Mike Dowell, McDowell, sorry, McDowell enters the chat and he is pretty amazing. he knows his stuff.
00:23:33
Speaker
He immediately takes a sample and is like, yes, I would love to test this. He marks it as a biohazard just in case it is hazardous to someone's health. Um, and he's, you know, been doing this for years and years and years.
00:23:44
Speaker
He's very methodical. He knows what he's doing. He's very organized. And he's one of those people that like everything has its place and everything is in its place. Like his lab is kind of spotless. He's one of those kinds of people.
00:23:54
Speaker
As he's testing it, he finds out that these blobs contain two types of bacteria. And then he also found like different cells of various sizes, um but they essentially contain only two types of bacteria.
00:24:08
Speaker
One is commonly found in the human digestive tract. So that's E. coli, right? It's the thing that we don't want to get in contact with. It can make you really sick. So um maybe that could have some answers.
00:24:20
Speaker
But then there's another type of bacteria, which is a little weird because these cells don't have nuclei. I don't know if you remember, but In science class, the nucleus is really important because it holds the DNA of the cell and your DNA is how you like make sure that metabolism is happening. That's how you have cellular reproduction. That's how you have cell growth, right? So if you don't have DNA, yeah that's definitely a little weird. And if you don't have...
00:24:49
Speaker
this bacteria logged, like that's also weird. I mean, i get that we've we haven't discovered most of the ocean and and there's lots of things out here that we don't know, but I would assume that we have at least an idea of what this is like, not just an unknown entity, right? It's kind don't know, it's weird.
00:25:07
Speaker
What's also interesting about this is Mike did not find any human white blood cells within these samples.
00:25:18
Speaker
So it's kind of like, Okay. Some have nuclei, but some have human white blood cells or was like one of the samples contaminated, which yeah I mean, it definitely could have been.
00:25:29
Speaker
Sunny, I mean, did her best, but it's not like we're we're all walking around with like a lab collecting kit unless you're at eight years old trying to collect bugs. You know what I mean? like They don't have like the full kit with them. So maybe it was just contamination, but still like an interesting marker that we should put in the back of our brains.
00:25:48
Speaker
So then Mike gets reassigned to other work, but he's still, this is like his pet project at work. He, whenever he can, he's, he's coming up with new tests to try to run, to try to figure out like what this blob stuff is.
00:26:01
Speaker
So one day he comes in, it's just one of those days where he's like, man, I have an extra couple hours. I want to run tests on the sample. I'm going to do x Y, and Z so that I can maybe come up with some more answers. And he can't find the, he can't find what the samples.
00:26:16
Speaker
And so he's like, wait, I and one of those people. Everything is in its place. Like, I know I put it here. Where did it go? So he's asking all of his lab partners and no one has seen it.
00:26:28
Speaker
No one's touched it. It's not like signed out of the log. It's really weird. So he goes to the last place, which is the front desk and say, Hey, did, did anyone come in lately that, you know, we should have known about, like, I'm missing a sample. do you know anything about it?
00:26:42
Speaker
And the front desk lady is like, why, yes, I do know about this. There were some men in black suits that came in and were asking to go into the back. And, you know, they were part of the government. They showed some ID.
00:26:57
Speaker
So I let them go back there. So it's not been confirmed if they've actually taken it, but there is correlation between when they showed up and the missing of the samples.
00:27:09
Speaker
and know what Unfortunately for us, that was the last of Sunny's samples. She doesn't have any more. So and it's gone. So now we're in this place of like, no one knows what happened.
00:27:22
Speaker
So now we come to our theories of what these blobs could be. I have um three theories and then I have, oh no, sorry. I have four theories and then I have my personal theory.
00:27:35
Speaker
But would you like to take a guess at what you think this is? Or do you want to wait? And then we can talk about it later. I am just so confused. This is like the the craziest thing. I actually have not heard about this at all.
00:27:47
Speaker
So my, like the jellyfish theory, like it's not too far from the ocean, but the, the differing cells in it, that's really, that's really weird to me.
00:27:59
Speaker
your theories I don't know if have a theory per se, but I'm, i'm I'm getting the alien vibes. I'm seeing men in black, the jellyfish is throwing me.
00:28:11
Speaker
I have, i feel like a little bit of background knowledge. Like there's the nuclear power plant over at Hanford. I'm like, is it something is, are all of these things intertwined? Like,
00:28:23
Speaker
Is it some cover up for some, i don't know, nuclear waste that somehow made its way to Oakville and blob form? You are so smart because actually a lot of the theories pull like parts out of each thing that you said. So one thing you didn't say though, which I think is kind of hilarious is blue ice. Oh,
00:28:45
Speaker
you know I don't actually know what blue ice is. No. Well, it's not it's not something that we say, oh, about. It's something that we say, oh, gross about. So air blue ice is airplane toilet water.
00:28:56
Speaker
That's disgusting. It is disgusting. So actually, just a couple of years before this, there was a couple sitting in their living room at night watching TV. And then all of a sudden, this meteor comes crashing through their roof, smashes down. It's blue.
00:29:13
Speaker
Stuff goes everywhere. turns out it was frozen sewage from an airliner that happened to be like going over to their house and like evacuated the system oh my god frozen pile of crap literally just crashed that talk about a shitty evening i would be pissed i'd be so mad would be suing everyone like gross but if you remember some of the material that was found in the blobs were things that you would find in
00:29:48
Speaker
Okay. I mean, it fell over the town. Maybe it maybe it was that. But the FAA confirmed that there were no planes flying over Oakville at that time. right So there's no planes flying over.
00:30:00
Speaker
And then also the color... was clear, not blue. And also toilet water, like when they evacuate it it freezes into like a solid brick form.
00:30:13
Speaker
Right. So it wouldn't be like a blob that kind of was spread out of oat over everywhere. No, it's like something that would be frozen and and like a meteor. Yeah.
00:30:24
Speaker
And then also because of the incident that happened ah couple of years prior, the airport the faa and airlines were like actually let's not just evacuate our waste piggly piggly like we we need to come up with a plan yeah and so the number one rule is if like at all times try to do it at an airport but if you have to do it for whatever reason do it over the ocean or somewhere that's not densely populated and yeah given oakville is not densely populated in itself
00:30:58
Speaker
But it's only 30 miles south of our state capital. Like, I don't think that would be the vibe in that area. Right. So most people have written off the blue ice theory.
00:31:09
Speaker
So then there's theory number two, which is vaporized jellyfish. Interesting. Very interesting. During the same time, and as most Washingtonians know, Washington is home to one of the largest military bases um in the United States.
00:31:26
Speaker
So we've got, you know, Army, we've got the Air Force, and then we've also got the Navy. And, you know, when you live next to these places, you know all about military drills, whether it's bombings or shooting or or whatever, something is going on military-related within the vicinity. It's just kind of a given.
00:31:45
Speaker
Well, in this particular time period, there was a lot of military quote unquote flight drills that were taking place. And in particular, these flight drills were over the ocean and they were actually practicing dropping bombs.
00:31:59
Speaker
So. What was happening and what scientists theorize is that jets go over, they drop the bomb, and immediately when the bomb hits the water, it um demolishes all of the jellyfish that are there.
00:32:11
Speaker
It vaporizes them. And as the cloud of steam comes up or the the the mushroom cloud comes up, it takes these vaporized jellyfish and it smashes them into the atmosphere.
00:32:22
Speaker
And that's where they kind of hang out. Well, as these storm fronts are coming through, they theorize that, you know, it's pushing all of vaporized jellyfish in inland.
00:32:34
Speaker
And then when it rains, it comes down with all of the jellyfish. Remember, Sunny was testing and these globs were not water soluble. So it makes sense that they didn't dissipate in the rain clouds. Like they came down as actual like globule globs. It's like a term.
00:32:55
Speaker
Globular globs.
00:32:58
Speaker
Patent that. I mean, it it makes sense. However, why did it only rain in one area? Why wasn't it more? why Why do we not see it more often? Like I imagine military drills don't just, it wasn't just the one time.
00:33:11
Speaker
It wasn't just the one time. And I mean, this did happen. So they did get these like globular rainstorms. It happened six times and not in a row, but like six times over the course of two weeks.
00:33:21
Speaker
So yeah, It did happen multiple times. But my other question is, okay, so it's 40 miles from Oakville to ocean shores. That's just the city of ocean shores.
00:33:32
Speaker
So I'm guessing they're not dropping the bombs on directly on the beach. So that's like, what, probably another 100 miles out or like 50 miles out that they have to drop a bomb. so if that's the case like that's a long way for something to go in the atmosphere and drop over one specific town i it would make sense if it was like on ocean shore itself or maybe like ah even a little farther inland but that's pretty far in to be you know raining jellyfish but i mean that's the most likely and the most accepted theory is these vaporized jellyfish
00:34:04
Speaker
Then there was the fourth, and this is the what the town of Oakville kind of leans into a little bit.

Extraterrestrial Theories and Future Sightings

00:34:10
Speaker
um Not everyone, but it is kind of like the fun pet, like the pet story, if you will, that the residents like.
00:34:17
Speaker
Some residents believe the blobs are part of a secret government experiment like MKUltra or Operation Sea Spray. Have you ever heard of either of them? Yes. Yes. So they think it's, yeah, some biological weapon that was released on this town in a mild form to see what would happen if they released it.
00:34:37
Speaker
And this was spurned on because at the same time as this, these globs from the sky, there was a lot of Black Hawk activity in the area, which, I mean,
00:34:48
Speaker
when you live near a military base and they're relatively close to the military base, you see Blackhawks from time to time, but they're saying, no, Oakville is kind of far. We don't see them like that.
00:34:59
Speaker
And they were circling the area. They were very much in your present during this whole time. no So that kind of lends it to the story. And then also some claimed that these mysterious men came into town And they like went to the one diner and ordered like a milkshake. And we're trying to be like, Hey, what happened here a couple weeks ago?
00:35:21
Speaker
Did people get sick? Well, what did you guys experience? What did it look like? Like, tell me more about this incident. And people were getting like really weird feelings about it. Like one lady took down one of the license plates. Cause she felt so uncomfortable.
00:35:35
Speaker
And like a woman, I'm not taking down a license plate unless I feel real uncomfortable. Like I'm kind like oblivious to that kind of stuff. Unless I'm like, I need to take your deets because you're giving me real creepy vibes.
00:35:48
Speaker
Yes. They came and they asked all these questions and then it's like almost they disappeared. Like they just kind of faded away. No one heard from come back. um So they're like, what is this? So they're really thinking that this is a possibility that they just happen to be some type of biological experiment.
00:36:04
Speaker
Which, you know, I'm intrigued. I'm intrigued.
00:36:09
Speaker
Then comes my theory. Oh, And my theory is we come in peace. I'm talking about extraterrestrials. So especially because lately we've been hearing in the news and like TikToks and whatever else that alien, there's aliens living in the ocean.
00:36:25
Speaker
There's some type of foreign life that we don't know about living in the ocean. Have you heard about this? I have not. Okay. Go look it up. There's a whole thing. I've spent nearly as much time on the internet. It seems you might.
00:36:36
Speaker
No, just for this story, but maybe not. and Well, actually that's why I do go on deep dives about aliens because look, I'm obsessed. This theory that aliens live in the ocean.
00:36:47
Speaker
And maybe that's tainting my view on this. But I'm wondering if these jets were scrambled, not for like drills and practice, but because they saw something in the ocean that wasn't supposed to be there.
00:37:01
Speaker
And so they bombed it hello multiple times. And that these Blackhawks actually came in to salvage whatever was remaining. And I'm gonna borrow from the jellyfish experiment that when they bombed these things, they made some type of direct hit and maybe it did vaporize them and they went into the air and then it maybe did come down over Oakville, but maybe the reason why we're seeing this unidentified bacteria and we're also seeing you know human white blood cells in a matrix that's not human, maybe it's some inhuman thing that happened to be coming down.
00:37:40
Speaker
And that is my, I think it's intergalactic jelly rain. That's what I think it is.
00:37:48
Speaker
That is my theory. but Which one did you like the most? What theory would you with? So i like the alien theory. I, I like an out there theory and it does just, it seems a little bit too weird. Like it seems like one of those things that I just, I don't totally believe, like I'd have to see it to believe it And no, you're not going to see that again. Right. Like that, it seems like a pretty isolated incident and it, I mean, I do suppose sometimes the, the simplest answer is the actual answer, but yeah. but Yeah.
00:38:24
Speaker
I think the the vapor, i the vaporization kind of seems most plausible for me just because if it was coming down, it had to somehow it had to get into the atmosphere. Right.
00:38:35
Speaker
Yeah. The thing that I just keep coming back to is like it with the response, with you know some men in suits coming to collect the the sample, some people seem to be poking around, it seems like there's some kind of government interest in what happened.
00:38:52
Speaker
And maybe it is just a weird scientific thing that they're trying to understand, but it it seems like it's more than that. and It seems like there's a little little extra going on. one hundred percent there's 100%. I also just want it to be like some weird conspiracy, so I think that's...
00:39:09
Speaker
Always. It does seem weird. And I mean, if this is something that, you know, happens regularly, why haven't we heard about this anywhere else?
00:39:20
Speaker
Yes. It also makes me kind of think of, did you see Nope? No. No. Okay, I'm not going to ruin it for you. um There's a type of UFO in that where I'm like, I wonder if they injured that type of UFO. And if you don't, you know what I'm talking about.
00:39:36
Speaker
And that like, it was quote unquote bleeding. And that's how it like rained down on the town. But anyways, watch the movie and let me know what you think. um But I have kind of a kicker for you.
00:39:49
Speaker
So actually, according to KUOW, this happened again in a town only eight miles from from Oakville in a town called Rochester.
00:40:01
Speaker
No. In April of 2025.
00:40:08
Speaker
And it was um it only lasted for about six hours. Only six hours. Same blob, same gelatin-like structure. um And still no answers. And no, this was not on the news.
00:40:21
Speaker
I didn't hear about it. It was in the newspaper. it's like, it's completely silent. where sample Were samples collected? Like, do we have any more data? No samples collected. No data, at least not that I know of.
00:40:32
Speaker
There's, there's been nothing reported about samples being taken. And the last thing, there was one article that I found on it. And it was like a surprise when I was doing my last minute, like research. And I was like, wait, it happened again.
00:40:43
Speaker
and it was like this one blurb and this one story where it's like, oh my gosh, 31 years later, it happened again. and then it was silence. and Like no one cared. I don't like, what?
00:40:55
Speaker
ex Excuse me. Excuse me. I'm now running through everyone that I've ever met. Does anyone have any connections to Rochester that I can pull? Like, I need to know what happened there.
00:41:06
Speaker
i know. 30 years later... That's weird. That's wild. And I mean, i don't I haven't heard of any like bomb testing or like, and I feel like that's something they would announce.
00:41:19
Speaker
Well, maybe they wouldn't announce it on the news or something, but I feel like you would at least see jets in the area. i guess I'm way north of, well, I'm very well north of Oakville, but I don't know. i feel like you would hear reports.
00:41:33
Speaker
Yes, but no, I feel like sometimes there's a lot of, a lot of weird shit that goes on that just slips under the radar. You can make it slip under the radar. little, lot of secret squirrel stuff, but yeah.
00:41:45
Speaker
So that's my potential jellyfish, potential toilet water, potential bioweapon story for you. That was fascinating. That was a great story. oh thank you. Yes.
00:41:57
Speaker
It was very fun researching it. And got to tell, I got to Sunny, I don't think I would have the presence of mind to like take samples and like become a whole scientist. Like she gold star.
00:42:08
Speaker
Yes. Killing it. Killing it. Well, thank you for listening to my story. That was wonderful. Thank you for sharing. I feel like I now just have more and more questions, though. I want to drive to Rochester. I want to know.
00:42:24
Speaker
This is the problem with cool stories. I i i need the answers. ah yeah Especially with Rochester, it's like such a cliffhanger. It's like, yeah, it happened again. yeah See ya. And it's like, wait, wait, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
00:42:39
Speaker
This does not work for me. I'm going to need you full details. I'm going to need like bomb squad out there, even though there's not a bomb. I want to have suits. I want the samples. Yes. Or I'm curious if this happens anywhere else. Like, is this so is this only happening in like central Western Washington?
00:42:57
Speaker
Is it, are we seeing it in other parts of the country too? Like if anyone's listening to this from other places, let us know.
