Our bonus episode, our August sister session. this it's been a year since we started doing these and it's still that hard to say august sister session yeah sister session So it was August of last year that we started this. Yeah.
The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah. so i feel I feel like we haven't done that many. I know. So. But we are on the letter E. But we didn't start with letters. We didn't do that. We did, yeah, just our. Hmm. Report. monthly report for a while and then our our world.

The Amazing Rewatch: Any any just like regular. life updates that we want to start with. um It's been a busy August. We started with our cruise. We talked about in july that we were about to go on a cruise we have done that cruise and come home and it was amazing Just the best. It really was so good. i Olivia even said again today.
The Amazing Rewatch: is there people that live on cruises i was like yeah there are actually they're usually old people without jobs or kids though and she's like oh that's not fair i want to live on a cruise and She...
The Amazing Rewatch: We just loved it and she loved it and I want to do it again. I wonder if that would get old. To live on a cruise. Yeah. I think with kids it would. Yeah. I think as an adult.
The Amazing Rewatch: It would last... The entertainment or like. It would last a lot longer. mm -hmm The... yeah like there's some people that like that it's like cheaper to sell your car and your house and your belongings. And just.
The Amazing Rewatch: It. Cruise. All the time than it is to you. Pay a mortgage. live Yeah. Yeah. So. That would be interesting. I definitely think we needed.
The Amazing Rewatch: At least one more day on the ship. yeah I felt like it was. Just... I'm like I didn't do everything I wanted to do because we didn't have. Quite enough time. I kind of tried to set myself up for knowing I wasn't going to do everything yeah because I was looking through the itinerary and all the options and watching TikToks and YouTubes. and of this specific ship and our itinerary and stuff like that. and I was just like, I'm just gonna go and just...
The Amazing Rewatch: enjoy and do what I can when I can. I'm not going to like. drive myself crazy yeah And I think that was good because... There was a lot. That we didn't do. there was Yeah, there was always something going on.
The Amazing Rewatch: and we did like a lot of the fun like trivia games and Game shows. And we watched every. Uh, Broadway show, like Broadway style performance.
The Amazing Rewatch: yeah glad and frozen and believe and Yeah, I think about... My next time ah on a Disney cruise, I probably will skip. One or two of those. Yeah. Well, unless it's like.
The Amazing Rewatch: if you if you sailed on the same ship and it was the same shows as then you could skip it but like yeah on The other ships they're different ones. Yeah, but still, it's like. That was a whole hour that a lot of people are sitting down and not...
The Amazing Rewatch: doing other things so you could go do Yeah. those I like stuff like that, though. so Yeah. Um, Me and Olivia did a lot of like character stuff.
The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah. which she really liked and I thought was really fun. We didn't do as much of that. My kids are a little but older yeah And they are not like as enchanted by the characters yeah as they used to be.
The Amazing Rewatch: One of my favorite Times on the whole. Cruise. um There was one. It was the last day, like in the afternoon. The sea day and.
The Amazing Rewatch: I don't know where you were or what you were doing. But I took Cece and Olivia up to the pool. deck and we i just got Chicken and fries from the... You know. 24 hours from close. Um,
The Amazing Rewatch: Luca was playing on the big screen and they just swam. And I just like. filled up my diet coke and they came over and ate and swam and ate and swam and i just like and then we did the aqua duck a couple times That was just one of my favorite parts of the whole time. Oh, yeah. I don't know what I was doing. It was really fun.
The Amazing Rewatch: We... I don't know. Yeah, it was really. It was really fun to just have like. Our whole family and... Mm hmm. We had a good time. It would be interesting to do a Disney cruise.
The Amazing Rewatch: Just without kids. I know. And people do it all the time. Yeah. Yeah. Because there was a lot of adult stuff that I didn't do. Yeah. Because there was a couple of adult lounges. And not everything is Disney themed. I didn't even go to the adult only area even once. I didn't even see it. I don't know what it looks like.
The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah, we went a couple of times. I played bingo and me and Jeff went to that. newlywed game thing no i mean like the adult pool oh like the serenity yeah yeah okay yeah no we didn't Besides just like walking past it on the first day to kind of like explore the ship. No, I went to the lounge a couple times. We did that Silent Disco, remember? Oh, yeah. Yeah.
The Amazing Rewatch: Move the game the music trivia. But... anyway so that was great i would highly recommend a disney cruise to anyone amazing so much fun And then we came home and kids went back to school. and Yeah.
The Amazing Rewatch: Back into a routine. I actually really have enjoyed the start of this school year. It's been actually really nice to get into a rhythm and a routine. and i I thrive on those, I think. yeah And I'll... of our kids like school.
The Amazing Rewatch: so it's not hard to like get them to go at least not usually yeah so Yeah. So it's been a good month. It was Olivia's birthday. It was my birthday.
The Amazing Rewatch: Mm hmm.
The Amazing Rewatch: I'm 35. Weird. Yeah. I still feel like I'm 35. 37. Mm -hmm. I am now on the downhill slope to 38 because we are past August. So I'm like 37 and a half officially.
The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah. I don't like it So... We can start with entertainment. Okay. Yes. Our first. topic that starts with an e is entertainment and this is a great one because we always talk about books movies TV shows. podcast stuff that we have been enjoying lately so Uh.
The Amazing Rewatch: Me and my husband just went and saw Spider -Man literally like a couple hours ago. That one was good. It was so good. I loved this Spider -Man. I think it's one of the best Marvels that they've ever done, actually. Yeah.
The Amazing Rewatch: And I... Love Tom Holland. I think he does. spider -man so well and I... thought it was i loved how they kind of introduced a little bit of what's to come but they didn't make it like oh my gosh that was too much i don't even understand It was like you could just you could still understand it.
The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah. And. His acting is so good. It was a really emotional movie. Like this. situation that he's in with like his loved ones not knowing who he is. and Yeah. yeah Yeah, it was good.
The Amazing Rewatch: I... Kept looking at him though and I was like, wow, he's like... Not that he looks old. He's only 30, but I feel like he's aged a lot since the last Spider -Man movie. Yeah. And I'm like, ooh. he's Which is good. Yeah.
The Amazing Rewatch: and Because... Because it's supposed to be like four years later. Yeah. But also like Spider -Man is supposed to be. Young. Mm hmm. like peter parker is in high school so It's going to be interesting to see like how long he stays with this and like what they end up.
The Amazing Rewatch: doing in the Marvel Universe, but... Yeah, I do like him a lot. Yeah. It was great. I loved that one. And i have we have not seen the Odyssey yet. That one has been on our list for...
The Amazing Rewatch: six weeks now and we just haven't gotten around to it because it's so Long. I'm like... Yes, but it's so good. We have to find a babysitter for like five hours to go to that movie. Yeah.
The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah, I watched your girls for like you watched them for a long time today and we did think about going to the odyssey but there's like since it's been in the theaters for so long there's not that many showings How long? Brand new day is long.

The Amazing Rewatch: Before we got out of church. And then there was one that was like. 7 p .m. and by the time that was over it would have been late so the times of spider -man lined up better for like not being out too late like and getting them back home to go to bed for school night and So.
The Amazing Rewatch: someday we'll see the odyssey because i feel like that's one that you have to see in the theaters because it's yeah just like Like an epic, you know? Yeah. Definitely. meh Yeah. And you went to a movie with Olivia. She was trying to tell me about this. Oh, yeah. So me and Olivia went to the movie yesterday. It's The Magic Faraway Tree.
The Amazing Rewatch: It's like a kids movie. I have never even heard of this. um I don't know how it popped up. in my radar i don't know But. Um, It's a kids movie. It's like the... people who made Paddington.
The Amazing Rewatch: It's supposed to feel good. But it's live action. It's not a cartoon. So it's like. this family moves to the countryside and they don't have any internet and the kids are like withdraw withdrawals from their tablets and stuff like that and The owners of the countryside house that they stay in say don't go in the enchanted forest. And so the kids, of course, want to go there. And there's fairies there and like magic and every day is a different.
The Amazing Rewatch: um world And. It's just super cute. It's kind of just about like staying young and believing in like fairy tales and magic. and
The Amazing Rewatch: It was really cute. And she liked it like the whole way through and sat through it. Yeah. yeah I asked her I'm like we're gonna go to a kids movie but it's not a cartoon so But we've been watching some non -cartoons lately. It's kind of fun to be able to branch out from.
The Amazing Rewatch: non -cartoons lately yeah My kids are obsessed with princess diaries and princess diaries 2 really they haven't watched it as much as they have in the past. like They would just like.
The Amazing Rewatch: watch one and then watch two and then the next day would watch one and watch two and then the next day would like It was on all the time. Those are good ones. I'm so proud. And now there's going to be Princess Diaries 3. I'm so excited. And Anne Hathaway is having, like, the run of her career.
The Amazing Rewatch: yeah she's always had like A good. Well, she's like... Taking long breaks, too. in the past yeah Um. But she's in everything right now. So many movies. And that the Days of Thunder just got announced yesterday.
The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah, and I went and saw the end of Oak Street. This month? Yeah, you were trying to tell me about that one too. That's something about dinosaurs. Yeah. She's in that. with ewan mcgregor and so that one's kind of like it takes place in the 80s And.
The Amazing Rewatch: It's like one night there was this. bright light and like loud noise and They wake up and they're in. Like. The past, where there's dinosaurs.
The Amazing Rewatch: Just like their whole neighborhood is. And they have to survive. And it feels very...
The Amazing Rewatch: Steven Spielberg 80s nostalgia type of adventure movie and i liked it a lot actually It was good. Yeah.
The Amazing Rewatch: It's... Like. Everybody loves... her now and there was a time when everybody hated her well not everybody loves her Really? yeah i I only see like positive things about her right now. Yeah, people still and people think that she's faking her. Baby bump.
The Amazing Rewatch: What? Yeah. The internet needs... to chill. yeah so yeah definitely not everybody loves her that's just your algorithm I love her and... My algorithm still shows me that a lot of people don't love her. I did get a letterboxd.
The Amazing Rewatch: Do you know that? It's the app for movies. It's like Goodreads. Oh, yeah. Yes, you told me that. Because I want to start tracking. my movies now too. So those are those are the ones I have Spider -Man.
The Amazing Rewatch: The end of Oak Street and the magic faraway tree on there so far. Okay. Starting in August. It's good. Well, and speaking of good reads, what books have you read? Did you finish Lonesome Dove? I did, actually. But I was listening to it at like two times speed really a lot. at the end of it but I finished it and I gave it five stars and it's... Incredible.
The Amazing Rewatch: Hmm. Amazing. Very good book. And when I was in the book club. I was like... I knew I was going to like this because everybody says they like it.
The Amazing Rewatch: But throughout the whole thing, I kept wondering, why do I like this? because it's just ah It's about men. It doesn't pass the Bechdel test. and It's... portrays like Native Americans as like evil.
The Amazing Rewatch: Like all the Native Americans are there. And I'm like, I... Wouldn't... I think if you told me that I would like this book. But I actually really loved it. It was so good. And not every single Native American in there is bad, but they just...

The Amazing Rewatch: is what I... concluded as well that she She wanted to... commit suicide and she didn't want to leave her kids. Without their mom. how hot I mean this is awful but how has she not done that?
The Amazing Rewatch: Yet. Because she's on constant watch now. Or how have her friends not helped her with it? like I know. I... I can't imagine staying alive. i know and that's that is actually one of the biggest reasons that i think that she Is.
The Amazing Rewatch: Guilty. Because. If that was me... And I woke up. And I found out that I had done that to my kids. If I was in psychosis, I would have been like...
The Amazing Rewatch: Just take me out. Yeah. I like the, or send me to jail. I deserve to go to jail for the rest of my life. There's no way that I would be like, I'm pleading not guilty. And I want to be an advocate for women's health. And I want to, yeah.

The Amazing Rewatch: Um. Like. special you know special days special anniversaries or any like Hmm. That's weird. Yeah, that makes me feel differently about, I mean, I didn't really have a lot of opinions about the whole thing because I wasn't keeping up on it too much. Yeah. but Hmm. Yeah.
The Amazing Rewatch: That's great. interesting so she was saying she wanted to kill herself and so she was going to... take her kids out at the same time because she didn't want to leave them yeah But she wasn't successful. It's called like altruistic filicide. Like where you kill your kids so you can kill yourself.
The Amazing Rewatch: But she wasn't successful. Why killing herself? Unfortunately, she was successful at killing her kids. Those are Yeah. I mean, literally. crazy. but just Crazy.

The Amazing Rewatch: Wow. Okay, I guess I'll get my tickets. But I saw there was this TikTok and it was like, what you need to watch to prepare for Avengers Doomsday. And it was like... Everything? It's like 40 hours. Or more of movies.
The Amazing Rewatch: It was like. So many. episodes of Agents of SHIELD I'm like, I'm not going to watch that. I don't want to. I think. I'm pretty sure me and Jeff watched that one.
The Amazing Rewatch: I've watched most of the series. with him except for I think there was one. and I watched... Loki, but I did not understand it. I need to re -watch Loki because I didn't really understand it while I was watching it either.
The Amazing Rewatch: It's a lot. Yeah. I was like this. i Cannot. i'm i I don't know if it was just like the time in my life that I was out or what. I like, I cannot. Yeah. Same. but I can't understand this. so So I'm very excited. Yeah. For. Doomsday.
The Amazing Rewatch: The preview, I mean, that was one of the previews at the... Spider -Man today and it was Lots of. throwback characters like James Marsden, X -Men Cyclops.
The Amazing Rewatch: Like that's been like a long time. It's crazy. we ah Some of my coworkers were... We were talking about it and...
The Amazing Rewatch: Marvel is just so interesting because it's like They can do anything without any consequences. Because there's so many alternate realities. And timelines? Yes. I said that to Jeff on our way home. He's like, i'm I'm curious how this is going to be. Like if this is one universe and this is one universe and they.
The Amazing Rewatch: They cross. And I'm like, that feels like a cop out that they can just be like, oh, it's a different universe. Yeah. Because it's like...

The Amazing Rewatch: Like you literally can just do anything you want and like the um newest ah What's one? What's the four? Fantastic Four. Fantastic Four. And it's like.
The Amazing Rewatch: taking place now but they're in a different you know they're on earth like 618 or something like yeah A different multiverse. that And like literally anything can happen to anybody and yeah any character can be. Which also.
The Amazing Rewatch: surprises me so If you think back to like... Ant -Man Quantumania and they were setting up King? you know the guy uh jonathan majors right and then he they were preparing for that like big time yeah and then he apparently beat up his girlfriend and they fired him but it's like they literally got any other actor Yeah, because anybody it was a whole different universe. Yeah. It gives us a different universe. A different king. Yeah.
The Amazing Rewatch: So that was interesting to me, that they can they do that a lot, but they didn't do that. In that specific... Robert Downey Jr. is Dr. Doom, right? Yeah. is that Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. Whatever. They have so much money that they're like, even if we have a flop, it's fine. But it's not going to flop at all. No. People are really excited for it.
The Amazing Rewatch: um other things of entertainment is d23 happened recently and there's just so so much lots of things so many announcements so many fun things happening it was like right after we got off the cruise and they announced a few new cruise ships and stuff and it's like Does he...
The Amazing Rewatch: Is so... Entertaining. And I know there's people who... like You know, it's like a huge corporation. and They probably don't pay their employees enough and stuff like that.
The Amazing Rewatch: Mm hmm. Brassos or so. Good. I know. Mwah! I know. And people are super mad right now because right after D23 and all these announcements and Spider -Man passed $2 billion. dollars um Disney announced that.
The Amazing Rewatch: The spouses of... Disney employees are not going to be able to get. health insurance. But well, that's what the the top the headline is like. Disney kicks off spouses from health insurance after. Spider -Man Brand New Day passes $2 billion dollars or whatever.
The Amazing Rewatch: But... That if you read more, it's like, it's... If the spouse already qualifies for health and insurance through their job. Oh. They don't qualify. So let's just click bait.
The Amazing Rewatch: but And that's like the case for a lot of people. Right. I'm not trying to defend a huge corporation, but you gotta read. The whole thing. You can't just read headlines. I know. Media literacy. is something that needs to be taught in school yes and i think actually Some schools teach it, but... Yeah.
The Amazing Rewatch: People do not. Yeah. Um... I am excited about our... Mom and sisters trip. Oh, yeah. Coming up.
The Amazing Rewatch: In just a few weeks now. Yeah, we're going to go to Napa. for we originally planned it for kind of like i turned 35 and our mom turned 60 in august and so it's kind of like a big Like milestone birthdays.
The Amazing Rewatch: And we wanted... Jessica and Georgia to come with us. Thank you. So it'll be fun. Yes I do. I'm only going to half of the trip with them because...
The Amazing Rewatch: It ended up that my girls trip that I go with my friends. Our crews. overlaps with the mom and sisters trip a little bit so i'm gonna go with mom and Sadie and Georgie for a few days and then fly to Southern California.
The Amazing Rewatch: And... um Get on the cruise. With my friends. Whoa. These guys ah Finish the trip. So. I'll be sad to miss. the second half of it but I'm glad I was able to figure it out that I could do a little bit of both, you know? so Yeah, it'll be fun.
The Amazing Rewatch: It'll be fun and... What else? Anything else in September specifically that's coming up? that We have some family reunions. We're going to Mountain Man Rendezvous. in Wyoming.
The Amazing Rewatch: and It's a busy month. That's my schedule. Everything's just busy anymore. is busy. Yeah. Okay, next we're talking about escapism.
The Amazing Rewatch: What do you do when you need to check out, when you just need to turn your brain off and not think about anything? i I take a bath. oh i take lots of baths yeah And. It's kind of like a weird thing.
The Amazing Rewatch: I don't know how I got in this. Like. i I get in the bathtub and I want to watch. Seth Meyers. Um. What is the section the segment that he does?
The Amazing Rewatch: I don't know That's like my time that I watch like late night talk show hosts. I just like watch YouTube clips of. Late night talk shows. but when I'm in the tub. I know it's weird. Seth Meyers.
The Amazing Rewatch: A closer look. I don't even know. I don't watch any late night. They're so funny and they're always all about. Trump. And end. They make me laugh. Yeah I do. I take lots of baths. um I Unfortunately, you know, social media and TikTok makes your brain turn off and check out, but also sometimes makes you think too much about things. Plenty of that.
The Amazing Rewatch: um So I actually like the Gilded Age a lot because... It's the same people who made Downton Abbey. But it's like even lower stakes in Downton Abbey. Like nothing bad really happens. Hmm.
The Amazing Rewatch: like it's entertaining enough and like drama it's so drama these rich people But it's like, you don't really have to worry about like... Sybil dying. Yet. Yeah. but Yeah so Gilded Age is a good escape.
The Amazing Rewatch: Just things like that. Yeah, escapism. I re -watch comfort movies a lot. I'm a re -watcher. big time. and those that we watched just like the same movies and TV shows a lot.
The Amazing Rewatch: So. You do. I do too. I mean, not as much as you, I don't think. but Speaking of re -watching things... One Tree Hill.
The Amazing Rewatch: i I mean, I've seen that a few, you know. All the way through. Maybe. five or six times but and This last rewatch was because... The three mean.

The Amazing Rewatch: Costco membership. Essential. even just for gas which is basically all i use it for yeah and i have the like the credit card and like and get rewards from Costco and from Citibank. So it pays for my membership and then some. Yeah.
