Connecting with Friends and Mutuals

00:00:00
Speaker
Have they actually had a deal? I have friends communicating right now with with girls, which I think is funny because I'll get texts from people and they don't know that I might know the person. So I'm like, vallly oh my God, I just met this guy. This is just so great.
00:00:12
Speaker
um And I know, wow, this guy I went to school with, you know, 40 years ago, who's now on the app, you know, and he's single. um I try to stay out of that background of it. And let them grow with it you know as they they see fit because their privacy is important too. I should not be in there delving and knowing what's going on. I mean, we have the backend data, but that's also secure. It's not for anybody's eyes to see other than the people you're being introduced to. you know I've seen people, they know that I know the app um and they don't you know I don't mention it to them. I go, I saw you join the app. If you bring it up to me, I'll talk to you about it. i'm I'm fine with that. But this is it's a private arena.

Dating Etiquette and Anonymity on the App

00:00:45
Speaker
Okay. It's to be that with every, some people tease me, you know, some people like, Decker, you created this app because now you're going to have million women that you get to select through and get to see. I'm like, first of all, I didn't need to have the app assistant doing that. And I said, it might be a good thing, you know, for the owner to find his relationship through the app, but that'll be something that's determined down the road. Right. i oh hey i mean i build I'll put my profile on there, but you know, it's kind of hard, but it's easy. Right. Because guess what?
00:01:14
Speaker
nobody's going to know it's me. don't know. The person who's going to know it's me is the person who meets me. And then they're going to be like, I didn't know you were the owner. And that's not going to be disclosed until weeks into a conversation. And maybe we go out on a day. Oh yeah. Well, by the way, you know, you know what, Richard, we're not leading with who we are. We're leading with, we're not leading with what we are. We're leading with us.
00:01:34
Speaker
Okay. and not we We're not what we do for a living. We're

Perception vs Reality in Online Interactions

00:01:38
Speaker
not with other people. See, we are where we're, we're You know, there's a great book called The Untethered Soul, and it tells you right away, even the person you look in the mirror is not you.
00:01:46
Speaker
You are looking at the physicality of you, but that is not you. I'm getting people to get to know you. It's inside you. It's not what the 1% of the world is what everybody sees of you. They don't see the 99% behind you that's making you.
00:01:59
Speaker
That's the real you. Okay, but Richard, I'm sorry. This is my unsolicited opinion. I love and hate you finding someone on Authentic.
00:02:09
Speaker
And honestly, I love and hate the idea. I literally hate it but I'm going to say I love and hate it. The thing is, it's like,
00:02:20
Speaker
The reason why i hate it and it feels complicated is because I feel that anybody could say you not. I'll throw out the whole you created it to to. find somebody to date i'll I'll throw out the idea that you great created it to date.
00:02:39
Speaker
I just don't like that people can say that and that people could also accuse you of having like four dates a night because you have this app.

App Creators and Personal Use Dilemmas

00:02:49
Speaker
But at the same time, like um I know that the guy who founded Tinder is a serial monogamist and I'm i'm about positive he's married. And I know that really and I know that the creator of Bumble. She was already in a relationship before Bumble. So, I mean, I think a lot of these app founders, they were already partnered. She was.
00:03:10
Speaker
So the woman who did Bumble was part of the founding crew of Tinder. Yes, I'm aware. Yeah. And then, you know left during the whole sexual harassment thing. And she met her husband in a bar. She gave a note like on this person. And she wrote down everything bad about her that you're going to view. Racist, sexist, all this stuff.
00:03:27
Speaker
And they kicked off and now they have kids. I mean, listen. I've never been on an app before. If I meet somebody through my app, I think it'll be one, it'll be very organic. But again, the whole privacy thing, that'll be for something to be disclosed you know down the road. And it's kind of like,
00:03:44
Speaker
You never do like ah like a lottery or a raffle and they say family and members can't participate. Employees. no They think that's kind of like me,

Events for Organic Connections

00:03:53
Speaker
right? It's like I shouldn't dabble in this arena because it's like I'm the, you know, but I get a kick out of it.
00:04:00
Speaker
I'm having fun with it. I'm having fun watching people have fun. I think romance exists. I just think it needs to be a little CPR, you know, needs to be revitalized. Mm And I think authentic introductions is something that, you know, should never felt to the wayside. i mean, my best relationships is I've met people through friends and cousins and things like that. You know, it's like, cause they, wait, you know, we were out the other day and oh my God, you came to mind because we met this person. You guys are so aligned. You're into motorcycles, you're at to outdoors. and the next thing you know, you're having a great time because somebody did the groundwork for you and brought you to somebody that you're aligned with, you know? Hmm.
00:04:35
Speaker
Absolutely. So, I mean, why is Authentic also throwing events instead of just having an app that's available to users? It's fun. I think it's just fun to bring people together, get brand awareness, let people see what we're all about, let people just get to know the company, get to know us as as individuals.
00:04:51
Speaker
It's something that the other apps really can't do. I mean, we're just ah we're more about having fun you know and engaging you know authentically because we just don't put out, hey, event, you know like ah speed dating. It's like you have to fill out an application and you got to put in your whole description, your age, what you're looking for. So we make sure people at that party are salt and peppered in to make sure that they you know they don't know it. right They know that we're authentically selecting.
00:05:12
Speaker
you But you don't know we you know Tommy was selected because Susie said she wanted Tommy's personality. Tommy wanted Susie's personality. So let's see what happens now. We have authentically put people who have the same likes, the same appearance requests, the same physicality requests.
00:05:26
Speaker
We're putting them in the same room now. But instead of just fitting them across the table where they could have this six-minute speed dating competition or or conversation, let's have them play a miniature holo-golf together. Let's let them bowl a couple of frames. Let's let them play ping pong together. Let's let them do a pinball game.
00:05:41
Speaker
Have fun because that's when people are really going to see who you are. Okay. Well, that ties into my next question. Do you have any advice for how to have a great first date?
00:05:53
Speaker
Yeah, I do. Be honest about if you want the first date to be a relationship, right? You want it to grow into something.
00:06:05
Speaker
So I wrote a book called Giving to a Meaning that's coming out soon. It's all about energetic basis of words. And in the book is the word called love, which we all know the definition of love. you know but the The energetic meaning is to let our vulnerabilities evolve.
00:06:20
Speaker
And a lot of us hide our vulnerabilities. We protect them, right? And we don't let anybody see them until after we're already in a relationship, maybe three or six months down the road, you're sexually committed to each other. You're maybe financially committed. You're bound by things outside of your vulnerabilities.
00:06:35
Speaker
And then all of a sudden, that person is not treating them right. But in all fairness, they never knew what they were. So how about on your first date, if you really want this to be a relationship? So this is what really, this is what I'm vulnerable about.
00:06:46
Speaker
and then let that person show you that they're either going to protect them, care them like you do, or they're going to show they're not really you know going to be able to do that for you. So all they did was show you that they're not the person for you.
00:06:58
Speaker
What they're doing it based on an informed decision on your emotional and your feelings. like People hide too much. they They put a facade of what they feel people should see about themselves instead of just being raw. And again, for lack of better of words, authentic.
00:07:11
Speaker
And wherever the chips may fall after that, it's great. There's no second guessing. Oh, man, I should have said I i should have. But no, just I'm just being me. If she's meant to be for me, then you know she's going to get me Okay, so it sounds like something a true New Yorker would say.
00:07:25
Speaker
um in any way I don't think it's geographically specific. It's fake. Come on. It's just that like people on the East Coast are always talking about how fake people on the West Coast are, so I understand why. I've met about a half a dozen women in the last two months, all from California.
00:07:43
Speaker
And I got to tell you, I'm very intrigued by every one of them. All the conversations I've had with them have all been in around the same environments and things like that. I don't think there's any truth to what you just said. They're very intelligent, well-minded, and not you know and they're authentic.
00:07:58
Speaker
California are also very fake. like I would know. They take people all over. No, but they are very fake. Very, very, very fake. Very fake to try to get ahead. They're trying to get ahead in the acting industry, in the entertainment industry. Like, they're reasons to be fake. They're trying like, network and see what type of connection. I'm in so i'm in the Hamptons.
00:08:22
Speaker
Which is basically like, you know, California during the three months of the summertime. And I get it. We have monopoly money out here. We have the fakeness. We have the gold diggers. We have, you know, everybody says there's somebody, you know, they all present with their Beamers and their Rolls Royces and their yachts. And, you know, a couple of my friends are hugely successful. They said the difference between people who really have money the people don't, because those of us have money, we buy our stuff.
00:08:45
Speaker
Those that don't, they lease it. Because you go look at all these these things out here, they're rented. you know They're just trying to show an image of something that they're not. But you're going to have fakeness. I do a lot of time in Florida. I've just spent a lot of time in Austin.
00:08:57
Speaker
There's always going to be that element. But then people realize after a while, you hope they realize after a while, that their fakeness is getting them nowhere. It's time to be authentic. It's time to be real, depending on what type of life you want to have with somebody or you want to be alone.

Pricing Model and Expansion Plans

00:09:12
Speaker
Yeah. Okay, so if we're talking about being real, can we be real about your prices? How much does it cost for a paid member of Authenti? And this is looking ahead, and I don't really expect you to have an answer, but just in case, do you, i know that I saw promos for three free months. I don't know if you're still running those, but whatever are price whatever prices people see now, like, do you plan on raising those or what what is the pricing like?
00:09:42
Speaker
Founding members, first 10,000 in any city when we launch. Right now it's New York. It's $129 for 12 months, unlimited access. And that price stays locked in for as long as they're a member because confident they're not going member for more than a year.
00:09:57
Speaker
ah After that, it goes to $299, annual membership. We don't do monthly subscriptions. You buy it because you're not going to complain if you find somebody within two months that it costs you $299. But if you're there for 10 months, you're okay with spending $25 month.
00:10:10
Speaker
um And that's it. We're really simple. We don't want monthly subscriptions. We don't want to people feel like, you know, this month I'm getting renewed. you We want people who are committed to intentionally want to find a relationship. But we're also not, you know, your $5,000, $10,000 matchmaking company.
00:10:23
Speaker
um where i I know for fact, because I have some clientele online right now that are seven-figure income individuals, but they don't want to spend $10,000 or $20,000 for somebody to find somebody. They want to find somebody authentically because they started from nothing.
00:10:37
Speaker
Their money means nothing to them other than that they're successful. And they might be a celebrity. They're real people and they want to meet real people and they don't want to hire a matchmaker for $20,000, $50,000 to go find supposedly that real mate.
00:10:49
Speaker
Yeah, but those matchmakers don't even work. I'm sure you... Right, they want to find it. Exactly. But they take a lot of money. They take a lot of money. There's girls that I know are 25, 27 years old spending $5,000 for a match break. I'm like, what are you doing? and you young not either No, but the matchmaker found their money just kind of like the app world found their money.
00:11:11
Speaker
No, I mean, i have only heard bad things. um i I mean, who knows? Obviously, the stories I've heard do not represent everyone, but I've heard it's very expensive. And the people that they find them, are they're not even compatible with them.
00:11:27
Speaker
um They don't really listen to what they told them that they want in a partner. it it seems like there's definitely a lot of scamming. um so Let's see here. Authenti won't cause dating app fatigue or burnout because members are not swiping.
00:11:45
Speaker
No one should be wasting more time online sifting through profiles. You've created the app of the future. And I'm so thrilled to see all of the relationships and marriages that are going to be created from your brilliant app.
00:11:59
Speaker
um I could not be more excited about Authenti. When is it going to be in California, though? I hate to put it. I think it's like September. But soon, you'll like three. So be basically, we went to the cities based on per capita who's on dating apps.
00:12:14
Speaker
And that's really the way we do it but So what we're going to do is open three cities, and then we're doing multiple cities. So we'll have probably 26 cities covered by the end of this year.
00:12:27
Speaker
you because What? but We're nationwide. i already have people joining from California. i have people joining from Canada. have people who just, you know, it costs you nothing to get on. The thing is, you're just not going to find a lot of people matching you yet in California because the database isn't, you know, we're not hitting the marketing there. Your podcast might boost California if that's where you're you're primarily there. I mean, because the the app is nationwide as we talk. We're just strategically focusing on marketing dollars into city specifics um regions so we could build the database. So when somebody comes in California, they're meeting somebody from California.
00:12:57
Speaker
um But the funny thing is, like I said, i have people from Canada and New York talking to each other and then texting me. you know, I know we're never going to have relationship. what a great friend I just found. This is so awesome. Your app is so cool. OK, so um a last question that I could think of right now is, are you going to be doing events in the cities where the app is operating or are you only planning on doing events in New York?
00:13:20
Speaker
Oh, no, every city, everywhere we go. That's kind of like our hey, we're here. Okay. Yeah. So whenever, whenever we go, then we're going to like Chicago, we have a couple of steak houses. We've got some fun places that we're going to do it in. And anywhere we go, that's, we do that prior pre that's, it's just, it's to me, it's just a fun way to get the name out in the community and people get start using the app.
00:13:40
Speaker
Okay.

Downloading the App

00:13:41
Speaker
Well, Authentic is available now on Apple or Google play. So download it, you guys, so you could find your authentic match and authentic partners.
00:13:57
Speaker
um ah Thank you so much, Richard. Yeah, can I add one thing? If they go to beauthenti.com? Yes, go to beauthenti.com. B as in boy, as in elephant, A-U-T-H-E-N-T-I.com.
00:14:14
Speaker
dot come get on the website, get on the app, let us know what you think. I'm just so, so excited. And Richard, I do want to talk to you a little bit after off mic, but thank you so, so much.
00:14:30
Speaker
This was just very informative and very encouraging because this is genius. And I just cannot wait to see what comes of it because this is exactly what people need and what people have been complaining about for at least the past five years. So it's exciting. Cool. Thank you so much, Joy. I appreciate it. And the one, the, the the reason if they go to the, the website on their phone,
00:14:56
Speaker
And they hit download the app, it'll automatically bring them to either Google or to Apple, whichever phone they're using. Because as you know, when you start out as a new app, you're very low on their directory. So this way it gives people automatic access to the link without searching in the app stores.
00:15:12
Speaker
Sounds good. Okay. So, okay, you guys, thank you.
