Introduction to 'Unlocking with Adam Pike'

00:00:01
Speaker
Welcome to Unlocking with Adam Pike, and this is where we are going to unlock potential in your life that you didn't think was possible. Guys, it's been a long time coming. I've been thinking about doing this podcast for a very long time now, and you know what? I'm gonna be completely honest with you.
00:00:22
Speaker
And I'm always going to keep it above 50 on this podcast. Yeah, that's one thing I want to do is just be like transparent with you guys. I was terrified, terrified to start this fucking podcast.

Overcoming Podcasting Fears

00:00:34
Speaker
Now why? Why was I terrified? Here I am on social media talking about
00:00:42
Speaker
Starting fitness and just doing it and not worrying about it and just starting now But here I am being a hypocrite thinking about doing this podcast and I was too scared to do it And I was just going over my head being like oh like no one's gonna listen. I'm gonna fail just all this Nonsense all this like noise in my head that was just not good. Like I don't live my life like that. So Something that I started to do
00:01:12
Speaker
was put post-it notes on my fridge. And anything that I was going over in my head every single day saying, oh, I like to do this, but never do it, and just literally just plan a bunch of other things and be like, ah, I was too busy today. I couldn't get that done.
00:01:32
Speaker
So I would put a post-it note on my fridge and the next morning when I woke up, I had no choice but to do it. So the other morning, or the other night, I was thinking about the podcast and all that bullshit noise going in my head and I said, enough is enough, Adam. It's time to start the podcast. So I got the post-it note, I wrote on the post-it note, Adam, start the fucking podcast.

Podcast Themes: Growth & Health

00:01:58
Speaker
So yeah here we are and I just wanted to do like a introduction video just kind of talking about myself and talking about what you can expect from this podcast. So yeah so some of the things that you can expect like basically what I want to do with this podcast is have
00:02:23
Speaker
very interesting conversations about topics about life. The end goal is to just live a better life. Everybody wants to live a better life and there's a lot of areas in your life that can use improvement to make your life better.
00:02:46
Speaker
Now, like some topics I'm gonna be covering is like relationships, right? Like everybody can use improvements on your relationship. Even myself, like it's just a constant effort, right? Personal growth. I'm all about that, guys. Mindset. Mindset is everything. I'm always saying that. And if you can get your mind right, I'm telling you, you're gonna have a happier life.
00:03:10
Speaker
fitness, health and wellness. For you guys that have been following me for a while, you know that I am all about that grind. Mental health, important. Important nowadays. I've definitely gone through my share a bit of
00:03:30
Speaker
issues with mental health. And you know what I mean? But I've come a long, long way. And, you know, that's, that's very important. So we're definitely gonna be covering a lot of topics around that area.

The Impact of Microdosing

00:03:44
Speaker
Microdosing, I've been on a huge microdosing journey. So I'm going to be diving into that, you know, explaining like how it's changed my life.
00:03:54
Speaker
in all of these areas that I just covered, you know what I mean? Because it's micro dosing is a very, very special thing to me. It's changed my life. I've only been really doing it seriously for five months and boil, boil, boil. I have become a new person, like a new person.

Life After Big Brother

00:04:15
Speaker
So anyways, I'm just going to give you a little background about myself over the last
00:04:23
Speaker
the last couple of years. So I used to work in Alberta in the oil fields and you know I was the type of guy that was just go go go just chasing money you know just trying to be like
00:04:42
Speaker
Just trying to just get that money. I was like sleep deprived. I worked a lot of hours. And then when I got off from work, I was like grinding and fitness. But part of it, like the last few years, part of me always knew
00:04:59
Speaker
that there was more for me in this world than putting on coveralls and work boots and slaving away, right? Because I didn't have these easy jobs, you know what I mean? Actually, let me back up. I've definitely had easy jobs, but part of the jobs were definitely challenging, right? I spent a lot of time sitting on my phone.
00:05:24
Speaker
just like everybody else in those type of jobs. But anyways, I always knew that there was more and like I just, man, I just, I could smell it. I could taste it. And I was just too big of a chicken shit to go actually do it. So I really liked the show called Big Brother, right? And I was like, you know what, man, like,
00:05:49
Speaker
I gotta get on the show. I got to get on the show. I know with my capabilities and my mindset that I am going to walk on this show and dominate. And I thought that maybe if I made the show then it would just send me into like a new course of life. You know what I mean?
00:06:12
Speaker
So I put in a lot of work to make that show. And I made it. I did. And I told everybody in all the interviews, I was like, I'm coming on here and I'm dominating. And then nobody fucking believed me. But that's exactly what I done. I went on that season. I think I created one of the best alliances in Big Brother history called The Pretty Boys. And we kind of just ran the whole season.
00:06:41
Speaker
Anyways, Dominate the Show, best experience I ever had in my life. And I actually came off the show with a relationship with a woman. And it was, like the way Newfoundland is, right? Newfoundland is very small. And they, something like this, they'll support you a lot.
00:07:10
Speaker
And I didn't really understand what I was getting myself into when I got off the show and I came back to Newfoundland with my current girlfriend.
00:07:25
Speaker
Yeah, it was a lot. It was a lot. There was like a lot of people in our business and everybody was just like, oh my God, the relationship. You know what I mean? It was like we couldn't go anywhere without being noticed and like people coming up to us and like,
00:07:43
Speaker
it's almost like you really had to have a face on 24 seven. Right. And I mean, majority of the time, like, like I was, that's just, you know, it was just a happy guy. But I mean, like when you're going through shit in your relationship and then like you got people coming up and being like, Oh, Hey, what are you guys doing? Oh my God. I love you guys. And then you're like putting on a face for these people. Like it was just a lot. Right. Um,
00:08:12
Speaker
And what a lot of people don't realize after getting off of a show like that is like your mental state is some people come off that show and they go into dark places because it's like you're in this unrealistic world and you come out into the real world
00:08:36
Speaker
And you're just thrown back into the jungle and being like, Hey, go back to your life now. But like for the last two months, you literally just was inside of a house. Um, you know, just treat it like gold. And like, it was just this crazy lifestyle. You know what I mean? And then you just were like, here, go back, go back to your normal life. So yeah, I took about eight months off. Um,
00:09:01
Speaker
Work after the show just I just wanted to like enjoy myself and travel and all that stuff and whatnot But you know what like as much as that was fun. I kind of wish I just went right back to work So then I actually went back Like from coming from doing that show I went back to the oil fields and I went back to Fort McMurray and
00:09:27
Speaker
And I started living that lifestyle again. I was away for 22 days at a time, coming home for 10 days, and I was just traveling back and forth. And honestly, I was very unhappy. It just was not a fun time.
00:09:46
Speaker
working away. Like it sucks. It fucking sucks working away at the time was, Oh yeah, I'm making like so much money. I get to do whatever I want. Like my bills are paid, but like I still want it to do more. I still want it more for my life. Right. So anyways, then I landed this job back home here in Newfoundland. Um,
00:10:13
Speaker
And it was a good job. And I was working seven days on, seven days off. Like it was very slack, but like.
00:10:21
Speaker
I was gone for like 15 hours a day, right? And then I was like rush, like every day, every day was just a rush. It was just a rush. Like I would wake up in the morning and alarm just like rushing to get up. Um, and then go, like, go, go, go to work for the day. Then you're rushing home. You're rushing to the gym. And then I was like rushing home to make meals. And then it's like 11 o'clock, 11 30. And you're like,
00:10:49
Speaker
Fuck, I gotta shower now and go to bed. Do it all again. And like, there's been times where I'm working like three weeks straight. Like, you know what I mean? You're just doing this day in, day out. And I was just sleep deprived. Like, I'm not lying.
00:11:04
Speaker
I'd say 10 years of working in that type of work. I was getting about four hours to five hours sleep. Five hours was the max amount of sleep that I was getting doing this type of work. It's actually quite insane to think about compared to my life currently, but we'll get to that. I worked that job for a while.
00:11:30
Speaker
I actually started doing 75 hard during this job. I'm going to run you through a day. When you guys say you don't have time to work out, I don't fucking believe

Challenges of the 75 Hard Challenge

00:11:43
Speaker
you. I don't believe a word that comes out of your mouth when you say, oh, I'm so busy and I don't have time to work out.
00:11:49
Speaker
Because I was literally so basically what 75 heart is I don't know if any of you guys have heard of this before but it's a fitness challenge and It required you to do Two 45 minute workouts a day one has to be outside you drink a gallon of water You follow a diet you take progress pictures and you read 10 pages a day. Those are those are the rules and
00:12:15
Speaker
So when I started this challenge, I was waking up at 4 a.m. to work out for 45 minutes before work, go to work. Like, I would leave around probably 5.45. I'd go to work. I'd get home at 8 o'clock. Then I'd go to the gym. And then I would come home and meal plan or meal prep and shit.
00:12:40
Speaker
And then it's like 11th or 12 o'clock and then I gotta get up before I aim again. And there'll be some times I've been doing this for like, well, I did it the 97 days straight. I actually finished the challenge and I did it for like, I was like, you know what? I just wanna keep going. So I just kept going. Oh, another rule too is no drinking. There's no alcohol, like not even a sip, right? But yeah, there'll be some days I'd be working like,
00:13:07
Speaker
three weeks in a row and I've been doing that every single day and I'll be like just having zero sleep. I remember being at work and all day, every day, and I'm sure the guys at work, if you're listening to this, they know what I'm talking about. I'd just be tired, man, every fucking morning, like all day long, just exhausted. The second that I would sit down, I remember like,
00:13:35
Speaker
I couldn't keep my eyes open. I couldn't fucking keep my eyes open. I was playing sports on top of that. I was playing on two different basketball teams, trying to do this fitness challenge. Fucking like, and I was also in boxing. I forgot about that, dude. I was doing like two classes a night of boxing. And then I was playing basketball games, probably two games a night. And then trying to work out on top of this and go to work for 15 hours. Dude, like,
00:14:03
Speaker
I was on a fucking mission. I was on a mission. But that life was just crazy, man. It was just fucking crazy. Like, I'm actually in awe right now, actually thinking about what I used to do every single day, day in and day out. Like, that sounds exhausting. Like, holy shit. Anyways.

Career Shift to Fitness & Microdosing

00:14:30
Speaker
Okay, fast forward to now.
00:14:33
Speaker
Um, so things kind of things, things happen at work. And, um, I was, I was like given options to go back to Alberta. And I was like, you know what? I am not fucking going back to Alberta, not a fucking chance. So I was like, you know what? I need to figure this out. I've been wanting to do like fitness training for a very long time now. And.
00:15:02
Speaker
I've just been too busy because I'm just putting all my time at work. So I'm like, okay, I can go back to Alberta and be depressed, not happy, living in a fucking camp and just around people I don't want to be around for 20 days straight just for a fucking paycheck.
00:15:27
Speaker
I can go do that. Okay. Okay. Okay. That's an option. Or I can stay home and stop being a, I'll be honest, stop being a little fucking bitch and do what you know and do what you love and see if this fucking works out. So that's what I did. And it's been how many days now?
00:15:49
Speaker
I got a journal here and I've been, I've been literally writing every single, like I've been writing the day like 49, 50, 51 on how many days I haven't been at work. And, um, it's been, it's been 69. I think it's been, I think it's been 69 days since I've, since I was at work last, that my, my last current job. And do you know what?
00:16:19
Speaker
Everything is just working out. I left well. Yeah, I guess I left a six-figure job To just go into the unknown and try to fucking figure it out So I actually do work for this company called micro siben I've been for everyone who's been following me on Instagram whatnot you I'm sure you've seen me talking about micro siben and
00:16:46
Speaker
my microdosing journey. So yeah, like these guys, man, social media is actually crazy. So I posted this video. This is how these guys found me. I posted this video on TikTok. And for those of you, there's a lot of people out here that are like, what are you posting this for? What are you posting that for? Listen, guys, just fucking hear me out. You are one post away.
00:17:13
Speaker
from having a different life. And that's facts. That's actual facts right there. I don't even have that many followers on TikTok. I just started it when I started that last year. It wasn't that long ago.
00:17:28
Speaker
And I posted this stupid little mushroom video being like, fuck, I don't even remember what it was, something about taking a, when you think you take a micro doser or something like that. It was just silly, right? I didn't, anything, nothing of it. So I get, like these guys from Microsoft reach out to me and they're like, oh, hey, like we came across your video and we were looking at your TikTok and the, honestly, I'm not even gonna, not even gonna lie to you. I told you I wasn't gonna be honest.
00:17:57
Speaker
I thought these guys were scammed. I was like, who the fuck is this company? So I was sending their page to people being like, do you know about these people? Nobody knew who Microsoft was. I never heard of them before. I literally thought, I was like, these guys want to send me mushrooms? I'm like, what the fuck is happening here? I like mushrooms.
00:18:23
Speaker
So anyways, we set up a call and the guys were fucking deadly. They were deadly.
00:18:30
Speaker
And they sent me the products and I started trying it. And so I want to back up a little bit. So before microcybin, I used to microdose, but it was literally just me buying mushrooms from a friend down the road and just picking out like a 0.2 and then taking that. I wouldn't even weigh it. I would literally just take off what I thought was a microdose and go on about my day.
00:18:58
Speaker
and some days were just hit or miss man like one day I would have you know a good day there'd be other times where I'd actually be I'd get fucked up like because the way it is with mushrooms certain strains you um it's there's like a higher potency in certain strains so like
00:19:21
Speaker
Yeah, I remember one day, I took what I thought was a micro dose and me and my friend, we were going on this, where were we going? St. Vincent's in St. John's, apparently like whales, you walk up to the edge and there's a bunch of whales there and stuff. So we had a launch pack, all this stuff. Anyways, I got fucked up. I was like, whoa. I was like, okay, I actually need to go home. And man,
00:19:51
Speaker
I gotta explain this, I gotta try to explain this. Because this has never happened to me before. I went home, I laid on my couch, and guys, I probably took a point too. That's it, right? But I don't know, what the hell was in this mushroom? Well I went home, and I laid there. And I started having anxiety, and I closed my eyes, and
00:20:19
Speaker
I swear to God I seen like a whole like life happen in like 30 seconds. It was crazy. It was actually crazy. Um, so yeah, that was not it. That like micro dosing like that is not the way to go. So yeah, these, this micro sibon came along and I started trying their products and I was like, whoa, like this shit is fucking wicked. And
00:20:48
Speaker
It was just consistent, right? Like every single time I took it, it was the same, right? And they have protocols to follow. Like I was just doing it every single day and I was just building up a tolerance, right? But they have these protocols to follow. And they also have this pretty cool product called Receptor Cleanse. And you're supposed to microdose for five days and then take two days off, but then you take the Receptor Cleanse
00:21:18
Speaker
And that like, that flushes your system and it like prevents you from building up a tolerance with the mushrooms. And I think that is fucking fantastic because there's no other company out there. Like why don't they have a product like this for weed? Like literally all you weed smokers out there thinking about how much weed you guys smoke, right? And I know people that just will smoke like
00:21:42
Speaker
Bong hit and just like sucking back on the bong and like they're not even that high like I would die I don't really smoke weed that much but I'm telling you guys I would actually Probably die if I took a bong hit I would be out at a commission I'd say for the whole day. I'd probably greeno. I'd be white Not a fun time. I'm I don't smoke weed
00:22:07
Speaker
So yeah, anyways, I'm getting off topic here. Started with these guys, they ended up giving me a code and whatnot. And it just took off. I started talking about my experience and guys, I've worked with a few companies before where they gave me a code and a link and I could see how many people were using my code. With Microsoft, it was just like,
00:22:35
Speaker
Like what the hell is happening? Like people were just using my code like crazy. And it's, it was, it was really wild to see because all these people were like coming to me, asking me questions. And like, I was just like, you know, kind of like letting them know about micro dosing and then they tried a product and then they were coming back to me like, man,
00:22:57
Speaker
It's worth your while to go on my Instagram because I actually posted some of the reviews and some of the, like I just took screenshots of like the conversation I was having with these people and posted it there. But man, these people were like, I used to have like crazy depression. Like my anxiety was through the roof and I started micro dosing and it changed my life. They're like, I'm a new person.
00:23:23
Speaker
This is what happens when you start microdosing, right? If you were to commit to microdosing for six months, right? I'm only five months in. I still kind of want to go. If you commit to six months,
00:23:47
Speaker
you are going to be a completely different person. You're going to think differently. You're going to talk differently. You're going to act differently. You're going to, your energy is going to be different and you're just going to thrive. Right. So yeah, I started with this company. I started doing the products, start doing the protocols and like every week we go by, I'll be like, whoa. And a month go by like, man, I feel so much different. And then like, like comparing myself to,
00:24:17
Speaker
Five months ago, before I started with microcybin to right now, man, it gives me goosebumps thinking about the journey I've had and like the progress and like, I've just become this person that I've like, I always want to be and I feel like I'm just on a steady incline of growth and I love it. Like my current girlfriend that I have right now, Rebecca, I love you.
00:24:42
Speaker
It's I think that it is the best, healthiest, most calm, understanding relationship that I've ever been in. And guys, I have had my fair share of relationships.
00:24:59
Speaker
I mean not that many like I've been in I've been in quite a few I feel like I've probably had like three or four like long term like two to three year relationships but like it was just a vicious cycle.
00:25:14
Speaker
And I'm not talking badly about these people. I was in a bad place in my life. I thought I was okay, but I wasn't okay. I needed a lot of inner work that I didn't understand at the time. I needed a lot of work on Adam.
00:25:34
Speaker
to be able to have a healthy relationship like I have right now. And maybe the people that are with like had to do the same type of work, but they didn't understand too. So we were just both really clashing. You know what I mean? The worst thing that you can do in this world right now is getting in, get into a relationship when you are not your best and you got traumas guys. It's fucking terrible. Like,
00:26:02
Speaker
relationships suck when you both don't have a fucking clue how to communicate and how to like get along and it's, it's, it's, it's shitty, man. I'm going to, I'm going to lie. It's shitty. I don't ever, ever want to go back to a relationship like that. So the one that I have right now, like trust me guys, there's definitely some times where like,
00:26:27
Speaker
I could be a fucking idiot. And I'm sure Rebecca wants to rip my head off at times, but like we, there's no more, there's no more yelling. Like there's no more screaming at each other. Like I used to be in screening matches with, with my partner, like somebody that you love and you're, you're yelling at each other. What? That doesn't make sense. So, um, yeah, there's, there's like none of that. Um,
00:26:50
Speaker
I would say in like four months we might have had like a miscommunication maybe twice and we realized right away how stupid it was and like there were no yelling but like it was just it was just like it was just nonsense and then we were like what?
00:27:07
Speaker
What are we even doing? This is very stupid, so when we talk about it, let's not do that again. It's just a lot of communication, it's very healthy, and I honestly truly believe that microdosing has got me here to where I am right now, to be able to do that, to have those communication skills with my partner.
00:27:30
Speaker
just have different thought patterns and my anxiety's gone. I'm very calm. I go and overthink. I used to overthink a lot, guys. I used to overthink a lot. So yeah, I'm just very calm now. Guys, I feel like I'm just ranting right now, which I am. But yeah, so this has basically been my life. Oh, back up, back up, back up, back up.
00:27:58
Speaker
So we left the six figure job. Microsibon people, people started, you know, using the code like crazy, right? I started doing good work for microsibon. Um, so yeah, I've been with them now for five months. And so I'm doing that. Like I have, like I'm working with microsibon and I'm doing like online fitness, online, online training. And, um, you know, it's, I, I, I've only been doing it now for two months and
00:28:29
Speaker
It's been good. I really enjoy doing it. And, you know, what I love most is when someone comes to me, right? And they want to make positive changes on their life, right? So I'm like, all right.
00:28:43
Speaker
You gotta do the work though, right? I can only help you so much. I can only, you know, give you like my guidance and whatnot. But if you're gonna half ass shit, then you're not gonna get the results that you want. But then I got some people that are fucking out there busting their ass and they're doing everything, right? They're doing all the work.
00:29:02
Speaker
And I'm like, shit, all right, this this motherfucker is getting shit done. And they're probably going to have like tremendous changes on their life in a short period of time. You know what I mean? So like with me, like the end goal with working with somebody is literally just having them feel good about themselves. Right. I'm not I'm not I'm not a trainer where like I'm going to make I'm going to like we're not we're not competing.
00:29:31
Speaker
for a fitness show or anything like that. Like the end goal is to just have you feeling good about yourself and that like when your mind is, is, is at that state and you're looking at things differently and you're feeling like you're, you're feeling okay. You know, your clothes is fitting a little better. You're waking up happier.
00:29:51
Speaker
you're working out, you're starting to get excited about working out like that is the end goal. You know what I mean? So yeah, I've been doing this now for two months and it's actually
00:30:09
Speaker
It's a breath of fresh air to be able to do what I'm doing right now and not put on coveralls and not be sleep deprived and not be like just go, go, rush, rush, rush,

Embracing a Balanced Lifestyle

00:30:24
Speaker
rush. Because that's what my life was. Now, I'll run you through a day right now, right? I wake up, take my micro dose, right? Well, before I wake up, I get eight hours of sleep, guys.
00:30:37
Speaker
I'm getting eight hours of sleep guys. I don't, I don't think there's been a point in my life. Well, maybe when I was like five, when my mom was telling me to go to bed at nine, but I'm getting eight hours of sleep. That blows my mind. And I've been doing this for a while. Um, you know, I've been, I started fasting. So I wake up in the morning, I take my micro dose on the fastest stomach. I do some reading.
00:31:04
Speaker
Um, and then I journal and then like, I'll write some clients and then I'll make like some content, uh, do stuff for my, for microcybin. And it's just like a relaxed life now. Like I remember the other night I was sitting on the couch with Rebecca and I looked at her and I was like, man, I'm so happy that I'm, I'm doing this right now. Like my life is so chill.
00:31:30
Speaker
Like I was like, do you remember when, you know, we first met and I'd be like rushing to the gym and I come over to your house for like 40 minutes. And then I was like, all right, I gotta go to bed now. Like gotta go out and go to work tomorrow. Like, man, that was, uh, that was, that was, listen, I understand a lot, a lot of people, uh, do this in their life and I, and I did it for the last 10 years.

Um, and I, I don't, I like what I'm currently doing right now. My, my fucking goal is to just keep this going. Right. My goal right now is to not put work boots and coveralls back on ever again. That's my goal. So I'm going to work my fucking ass off and do everything I can possibly do.
00:32:19
Speaker
to continue the life that I'm doing right now. It was a very hard transition to go from that lifestyle to what I'm doing right now and waking up and just having coffee and then coming to my office and just working from home. I was like, what the fuck is this? It took a long time for me to get in a groove, and now I'm in the groove. It's all good.
00:32:48
Speaker
It's actually wild that my training, like with fitness and whatnot, I, I, I'm noticing lately. I don't know what the fuck it is. Like I, so the only things I'm doing different recently is I'm fasting, right? So I'm, I'm eating from 12 PM to 8 PM. And I have like, I have pretty large fucking meals, but I noticed that when I'm going to the gym,
00:33:18
Speaker
And I'm getting eight hours of sleep, but I notice when I go I'm going to jump I'm getting a lot fucking stronger like I feel like I'm actually Getting really strong every like every time I'm like really challenging myself being like oh fuck like I go today I dumbbell snatch like the 110
00:33:37
Speaker
I did 100s before. I never done 110. I was like, you know, I'll fuck it. I'll try it. And I banged it out. I'm like, whoa. And I just feel like I'm on a steady incline with my fitness now, now that I'm just like...
00:33:49
Speaker
more relaxed and I'm getting the proper recovery from sleep and I'm focusing on stretching more. I literally spend at least 20 to 30 minutes a day stretching and when I'm at home, I'm just sitting there listening to a podcast or watching TV and I'm stretching on the floor. Before, I was just like, rush home from work, go to the gym, never stretch and let me fucking tell you what.
00:34:18
Speaker
not stretching my entire life and just working these jobs and only having time for training. Like that's like, I wouldn't, I would only lift weights. I would never do any like mobility work or any like just like deep stretching. Wouldn't do none of that. My hips are completely fucked and I'm like the stiffest person that I know, but
00:34:44
Speaker
Lately, I've been stretching a lot. I'm noticing that my hips are opening up more. I'm like, whoa, this has never happened before. Yeah, life is just different now and it's good. It's more relaxed. This is very slow paced. There's no stress. There's no stress in my life at all. I don't deal with shitty fucking people.
00:35:10
Speaker
You want to know another thing that I really want to bring up? Over my years working in all that field of work, my nose used to be clogged up with shit every day. Guys, I'm not exaggerating. Every fucking morning, the amount of fucking boogers and shit in my nose was fucking outrageous.
00:35:38
Speaker
And I also used to have this weird fucking coughing thing where for anyone who knows me, I'm sure you've seen me do it. Like if I ate a meal, right? I would like.
00:35:51
Speaker
and go outside into like cold air. I would like do this coughing almost like urging to the point where I'm going to puke, but then I don't puke. I went to the doctor about this. I took pills. Nothing worked. Like the pills were just making me more sick. And I was like, well, this is fucked. Anytime I went outside,
00:36:10
Speaker
Anytime I like had food in my stomach, like I would do this, right? It was so fucking weird. And like it's been doing this for probably like six years. I'd say six years for sure. Anyways, the other day I had this like, whoa moment. I was like, man, I haven't, I haven't done that coughing thing in forever.
00:36:34
Speaker
And I'm like, well, the only thing, the only thing that has changed is I am not around a bunch of chemicals and shit every day. Right? Cause like, literally like we wear our masks and stuff like that, but man, like you're around a lot of fucking unhealthy shit, like at those type of jobs. You know what I mean? Like when I was fracking, like when they would bring in the sand, there's just like the, what does it call? Is it the silica? No.
00:37:02
Speaker
I don't know. Um, but like the sand dust, right? You're just fucking like breathing that shit in like that. Like when I was welding, it was, you had the mask on, but man, you're breathing in fumes and like all that shit. You know what I mean? So like what that does to your body, I feel like I'm way more healthy now and I don't do that crazy coughing thing. And my nose is never plugged up. I can actually,
00:37:26
Speaker
breathe through my fucking nose. Dude, when I was working these jobs, I'm not even kidding. It was like this, trying to breathe through my nose most nights. And Rebecca, I said it to her the other night, I was like, remember when I used to come over and be snoring like crazy? My nose would just be clogged the fuck every night. It's not like that now. It's not like that. So it's pretty wild to think about the stuff that I was ingesting.
00:37:56
Speaker
Um, over the last 10 years working, uh, just all those different types of jobs in like that field of work. It's, it blows my mind, but guys, I'm here.

Future Aspirations for the Podcast

00:38:10
Speaker
I'm happy.
00:38:11
Speaker
Things are working out. I wanted to start this podcast. I really believe that this is going to be something great. I'm going to be bringing on some really cool fucking guests, people that are really smart. I might even have an episode where we just might have some fun.
00:38:32
Speaker
It's not gonna be about one specific thing like I could be talking about like Fasting and fitness one day and then the next day we're talking about mental health and then maybe the next day I'm just like having a chat with my buddy and we're just getting on about bullshit, right? So I hope that you guys are going to enjoy this and if you if you do think that this is something that you can listen to and you know ride with and get down with and
00:39:02
Speaker
Let me know. You can download this video. I actually don't even know how podcasting works. Literally, I'm very new to this. I don't even know what to do with this episode when I'm done. I just got some notes written down from people.
00:39:25
Speaker
Like I said, I'm new to this. This show is only going to get better as time goes on. Obviously, like I look back on when I was doing like Instagram videos and stuff maybe like four or five years ago compared to like right now is a big change, right? So, you know, I've been wanting to do the podcast and I like I wanted it to be great right away, but that's just
00:39:51
Speaker
This is not gonna happen, right? I need practice. I need to do this. And yeah, I hope you guys enjoy it. And we will see you soon on the next episode. So thank you. And I look forward to doing this. And the main goal, I'm gonna end with this. This is what I'm gonna end with. If one person listens to an episode, right?
00:40:19
Speaker
and they take something from the episode that they just listened to, and they apply it to their life, or maybe they relate to it, and they're like, wow, like, I go through the same thing, or I'm, you know what I mean? And they apply it to their life, and that, and whatever, even if I just said like, like five words that were just like, well, to them, and they applied that, and it changed their life, that's the goal.
00:40:46
Speaker
That's the goal. If I can just help one person by doing a podcast, that would make me happy. Anyways, welcome. Not welcome. Thank you for listening to Unlocking with Adam Pike and we'll see you on the next episode. Bye.
