The Amazing Rewatch: Hello, everybody. Welcome to the Amazing Rewatch. This is batch three yeah of the month of July. The last five episodes? a it Yeah. Five episodes.

The Amazing Rewatch: um Second batch was really small. Yes. July is always very busy, but we are down to the top six at the start of this episode.

The Amazing Rewatch: And we are now at the back half of the season. Yeah. So we were in Malawi the last episode and we had a W-turn that didn't really...

The Amazing Rewatch: W-turn anyone? And um we had Justin and Jennifer eliminated. And now we are going to be leaving Malawi.

The Amazing Rewatch: Yes. I can't remember where I said I predicted we were going. think you said somewhere in Europe. I think said Norway. Maybe. or Sweden. Maybe. Because we're going close by there. So the clue, Andy and Tommy, they're the first to depart and they depart at 3.12 p.m. The clue says fly 5,000 miles to Copenhagen, Denmark. Once there, choose a Ford Focus and drive yourself to the Vorg.

The Amazing Rewatch: For Elster's Kirk Bell Tower. Once there, race to the top and search for your next clue. Caution, W-turn ahead. So two W-turns in a row. In a row.

The Amazing Rewatch: I wonder if they were like, that last one did not go as we wanted. So we're going to do it again. We need to see if this will actually work. and all the teams have British airline tickets with a layover in Amsterdam that arrive in Copenhagen at 8.20pm.

The Amazing Rewatch: a m but they're allowed to find other flights if they can find something better

The Amazing Rewatch: Ernie and Cindy depart 313. and When they read the W Turner head, Cindy says, oh we're still using this. Yeah. She was ready. We had first place stolen from us. Yeah. I was like, no you didn't. If it was fair and square. You were just slower than them. Yeah.

The Amazing Rewatch: It was not stolen from you. That's really annoying. Bill and Kathy depart at 326. Imani and Marcus, 334. Lawrence and zack at And Sandy at

The Amazing Rewatch: They're all getting to the airport. um Lawrence and Zach decide to fly to London instead of Amsterdam because they feel like there's more options of connections there. Yeah.

The Amazing Rewatch: And all the teams are at the airport and Cindy asks them. Did you guys? Because they she saw them talking to a lady. Yeah. And she's like, is she helping you with flights? And they're like, yeah. She's like, what are you doing? They're like, well, we don't know yet. What time do you land? I don't know. We're going to find out.

The Amazing Rewatch: And then she walks away and she's like, they're super shady. I'm like, no, they weren't. Yeah. And they didn't owe you anything. they Yeah. They just kept their information to themselves. Figure out. Yeah. Figure it out on your own if you yeah want the information.

The Amazing Rewatch: And they maybe really didn't know yet. Yeah. She was still finding the information for them. Yeah. So all the other teams are in ah flying to Amsterdam. and Pause, though.

The Amazing Rewatch: This is the first time in race history that they've gone to Denmark, which is crazy. Yeah, it is. And since you pointed out last episode or last two episodes that I haven't been saying when these air, this episode aired November 13th, 2011. Okay.

The Amazing Rewatch: Great. So, yeah. So, yeah, we're going to Denmark for the first time. Yeah, it's weird. We're in season 19 and haven't been to Denmark. Yeah. Copenhagen's like a pretty major city. Mm-hmm. And...

The Amazing Rewatch: I went to Copenhagen about a year ago on a 24-hour layover on my way home from Italy. And I loved Copenhagen so much. And we only saw, like, one very small part of it. And we were not there for very long. So I would love to go back. But it was, like, I did see a lot of, like, things that I recognized. Oh, nice. on the On this episode. so Yeah.

The Amazing Rewatch: You should actually, while we're talking about it, you should just tell us about it and right now. Okay. So, um yeah, this is our first time to Denmark.

The Amazing Rewatch: um Copenhagen is kobenavan is the capital and largest city of Denmark. It's known for its colorful, waterfront, bike-friendly streets, innovative design, and consistently ranking as one of the world's happiest and most most livable cities.

The Amazing Rewatch: um So, it's in Northern Europe, um kind of like above Belgium and the Netherlands. Yeah, it's it's like a little peninsula. It's considered a Scandinavian country because it's like like you can take a ferry to Sweden. It's very close to Norway, Sweden, Finland. Yeah.

The Amazing Rewatch: um The city proper has about 670,000 people. The urban area has about 1.4 million people. And the city is diverse. The residents are from over 180 nationalities.

The Amazing Rewatch: Copenhagen began as a small Viking fishing village around the 10th century. And during the 1100s, there was a fortress built there to defend the harbor and was considered the founding of Copenhagen.

The Amazing Rewatch: By the fourteen hundreds it had become Denmark's capital. From the 1500s to the 1700s, during the Renaissance, Copenhagen flourished under the Danish king who built castles, churches, universities, and defensive walls.

The Amazing Rewatch: There were a few massive fires, but much of the, um which destroyed much of the medieval city. um After World War II, Copenhagen grew into one of Europe's leading centers for architecture, sustainability, education, and technology.

The Amazing Rewatch: has a mild climate. Snow is possible, but usually doesn't last long. The city experiences very long summer days and very short winter days. The official language is Danish.

The Amazing Rewatch: However, nearly everyone, especially the younger population, speak excellent English. Making it one of the easiest European capitals for English-speaking visitors. thought I found that to be true for sure. Yeah.

The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah.

The Amazing Rewatch: Denmark is a constitutional monarchy. the royal family lives in Amalienborg Palace in in Copenhagen. um The major industries are pharmaceutical, shipping, renewable energy, information technology, design and architecture, and tourism.

The Amazing Rewatch: and the country... I think the... Sorry, the company... created Ozempic is in Denmark. so Novo Nordisk. Yeah.

The Amazing Rewatch: And they're probably having a great time right now. Right. Yes. I'm sure they are. About half the residents commute by bicycle. Has more than 200 or 250 miles of bike lanes.

The Amazing Rewatch: it's um

The Amazing Rewatch: famous Some famous foods are like Danish pastries, seafood, meatballs.

The Amazing Rewatch: has several prestigious universities, including the University university of Copenhagen, founded in 1479, making it one of the oldest universities.

The Amazing Rewatch: um There are more bicycles than cars. It's one of the old Europe's oldest monarchies.

The Amazing Rewatch: And Hans Christian Andersen lived in Copenhagen. Yeah, that was one ah one thing that I really wanted to try and do is go to see like the Little Mermaid statue. But it it's kind of further away from like where our hotel was and where we did like a like a canal boat tour, which was so cool.

The Amazing Rewatch: Because like a lot of the major buildings are just kind of like along that major or like the main like waterway. hmm.

The Amazing Rewatch: Visitors are often struck by how relaxed yet vibrant the city feels. Historic castles sit alongside cutting edge architecture. Local bikes almost everywhere. Locals bike almost everywhere. And cafes, waterfront parks, and pedestrian streets create an inviting atmosphere. It offers a blend of centuries of history with modern sustainability and design. Making it one of Europe's most distinctive capital cities.

The Amazing Rewatch: yeah So our family, our ancestors are from Denmark. Not Copenhagen, but from Denmark. Yeah. And I was like, how many generations do you have to go back to for them to take you back?

The Amazing Rewatch: yeah And it's more generations than we are away. Yeah. Unfortunately. Well, so grandpa's grandpa was born in Denmark. Yeah. But it has to be like your grandparents, your grandparents is as far back as they'll take you back.

The Amazing Rewatch: Hmm. It was, yeah. And like I said, I only saw a very small part of it for a short time. But I think we have already decided while I was in Copenhagen because um our cousin Annie was with me.

The Amazing Rewatch: And i was like, Annie, the whole family needs to come back here. She's like, I know. So I think in like a couple years, because we're doing our big family trip this year on our Disney cruise. And so in like two years, i think we all want to go.

The Amazing Rewatch: to Denmark and do like a family history tour and like a vacation to Denmark and Sweden. I just know that I'm going to get there and say, I'm never going home. Why they leave this place? I do love uah Utah. Utah is amazing. Yeah. i'm longer, like the older I get, ah the more i enjoy living here in Utah.

The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah. But, I already know which is going to be like yeah very. Well, they came for, i mean, it's appropriate because today in Utah, the day that we're recording this is Pioneer Day. Right.

The Amazing Rewatch: And they came to join because they joined the LDS church and came to be and then like crossed the plains. and Yeah. We definitely have pioneer ancestry. Yeah.

The Amazing Rewatch: Have you heard of the the word slash concept of hygge? So it's a Danish word. It's called it's spelled H-Y-G-G-E. And when I was in Copenhagen, I saw it printed on a i've When you spell it out, I've seen that word Yeah. So I saw it printed on a a sweater. And I was like, what does this word mean? And it's... um Well, now I lost it. Hold on.

The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah, i I do know that word now, but I've always heard it pronounced high-yay. hygge. Okay. Okay.

The Amazing Rewatch: I love that. Yeah. Like if I were ever to get a tattoo, I would maybe even get that word tattooed because it just like the concept of it. And then like it's got like, you know, family history ties yeah so cute anyway cool yeah well everybody visit at denmark yeah we're excited and we'll see someday we do some fun tasks on this leg i think i thought it was a fun leg yeah so um yeah the teams are in amsterdam or london and trying to find connections to denmark that arrived earlier So, um, Ernie and Cindy and Bill and Kathy find one that arrives at 1035 and Tommy and Andy and Jeremy and Sandy arrive find one that arrives at 11.

The Amazing Rewatch: P.M. P.M., yeah. Yeah, because the flight the flight that they were provided arrives at 8.20 a.m. A.m. And Lance, Lawrence, and Zach find one that arrives at 10.35. 8.30 a.m. sorry. 8.30...

The Amazing Rewatch: AM. Sorry, PM. PM. Yes. Because I thought it was AM and I was like, why would they do that? Like, why would they get on a flight that lands later? So, but then when it like pans to flights landing in Copenhagen and it says that they're there first, I was like, what? I was so confused. And then I rewound it and I was like, oh, it's PM.

The Amazing Rewatch: But Imani and Marcus don't try to find better flights. I know. They just like... Hang around. They're like, I'm sure everybody's just going to be on this flight. We're just going to rest. We're tired. It's been a long day. Yeah, they don't ask anybody or try at all. They just yeah find some reclining seats and fall asleep. And they say, I'm sure everybody will be on the same flight. They were definitely not feeling the urgency.

The Amazing Rewatch: And those teams start arriving in the evening and they get to this bell tower and it doesn't open until 730

The Amazing Rewatch: And Amani and Marcus arrive. Their flight lies at 8.20 a.m. That's good for them that it's not something like tasks that they r be the other teams can be doing like overnight. And I figured that that would happen. yeah But it's not always that way. No. Amani and Marcus, they wake up and no teams are there. we thought we would see people by now.

The Amazing Rewatch: Marcus is like, this is the death of us. Like we've lost... And Imani is like, I don't think it's the death of us. I just, I can't believe that they wouldn't even ask. Like, with that much time, they had all night. And Amsterdam is so close to Denmark. Yeah, you would think that there would be, like, flights going, like, every couple of hours. Yeah.

The Amazing Rewatch: And they just didn't even ask Yeah. Yeah. So the other teams are at the tower as it opens and they have to climb 400 steps. And when they get to the top, there will be two clues that they have to find. A flag on the top of the bell tower and a banner on a roof below. they have to figure out that their next destination is Fredericksburg Slott.

The Amazing Rewatch: So the flag on the top of the bell tower just says Borg Slott, which apparently means castle. Well, slots does. Yeah. And then the flag on the roof below says Fredericksburg. just says Fredericks. Fredericks.

The Amazing Rewatch: And some teams figure it out quickly. some teams just get the Borg slot and don't really get the rest of the information. But um Lawrence and Zach and Ernie and Cindy get to the Fredericksburg slot castle first. they get there. What happened with Jeremy and Sandy, like like up at the top of the bell tower, there was like plaques. Oh, yeah. That had ah it it was like signs that are like, this is what you're looking at.

The Amazing Rewatch: Like the skyline below. And so they saw Rosenborg slot and they're like, oh, that must be it. So they like start heading to a completely different place. Yeah. Lawrence and Zach and Ernie and Cindy get to the Fredericksburg slot, which is the correct one, and they get the clue and it's a roadblock and it says, who's ready to take a few steps back in time?

The Amazing Rewatch: So they have to dress in period clothing and work with an instructor to learn a complex three-part dance routine that will test their memory, coordination, and attention to detail.

The Amazing Rewatch: so Zach and Ernie are going to do this. um and they go back and like they even have to like get makeup done. And then put on their their period clothing. And, of course, Lawrence is like, I probably could have done this one better. Yeah. Because he says that every time. Because I was a front man in a band. Yeah. I'm like, what? That has nothing to do with this kind of dancing you're talking about. Yeah.

The Amazing Rewatch: um it does turn out that he probably could have done it better because Zach really struggled. Really struggled. um Yeah. Jeremy and Sandy decide to go back to the tower because they don't, they get lost. They don't know where they're supposed to be. They go to that Rosenborg slot and it's not right. It's like a restaurant that's closed. They're like, okay, we got to go back. So they go back up the tower and as they go As they're up there, Imani and Marcus arrive and get up there. So they're up at the same time. And Imani and Marcus, of course, are like, ooh, yes, there's still a team here. We're in it. And Sandy and Jeremy are like,

The Amazing Rewatch: Dang it. Shoot. We lost our lead. Yeah. Bill and Kathy arrive and Kathy does the roadblock. And while she's like getting ready, Bill is talking to the other teammates that are sitting there waiting and says that him and Kathy met at 12 and 13 years old. Yeah. In middle school. And they got married on the day of graduation of college. Yeah. They're so cute. And then Cindy says, we just met in a bar. Yeah. He's like, that's okay too. That's okay too.

The Amazing Rewatch: um Tommy and Andy arrive. Andy does the roadblock. Ernie's the first one to pass off the roadblock. Honestly, like you don't even have to be that good. He's like skipping and yeah doing steps at different times than everybody else. And I'm like, sometimes they're so specific on the roadblock. Yeah. And sometimes they're not.

The Amazing Rewatch: And he like passed it off and I wouldn't have passed him off if I was a checker. you were the judge. But he gets the clue. It says drive to Freeland Moose Seat and search the grounds for your next clue.

The Amazing Rewatch: And Zach is really struggling. Yes. But Kathy does not. She does really well and passes it off. And Bill... Bill is so cute when he's like watching her. He's like smiling so big and you're like, he's just so in love. Yeah. And they're like, they've been together for so long. You know. So cute.

The Amazing Rewatch: They're so cute. Jeremy and Sandy on the other hand. Yeah. They are on the way to the castle. Marcus and Amani, they get lost on the way to this first castle and finally stop for directions.

The Amazing Rewatch: Like on a busy highway. Yeah. And well, after Marcus has already said, like, i don't I don't want to stop for directions. I don't like asking for directions because it feels like I'm not in control and I don't know what I'm doing. And I'm like, well, you don't and you're not. So stop.

The Amazing Rewatch: So Ernie and Cindy get to the next clue. And that at the what's it called? Freeland Mooseat. Yeah. And the clues of detour and the choices are all hopped up or all churned out.

The Amazing Rewatch: So both of these detours are to help them experience life on a Danish farm. All hopped up is both team members must consecutively lead a rabbit through a steeplechase course. They have to correctly build and lay out the course and then each of them lead the rabbit over the jumps without knocking anything over.

The Amazing Rewatch: And all churned out is work with fresh – or sorry, work fresh cream into six sticks. That's hard to say. Of smooth, high-quality butter. Some say that Danish butter is the best in the world. going to sneeze.

The Amazing Rewatch: yeah Yeah. So these choices, know we say that we would try to avoid – Working with animals. Working with animals. But churning butter is hard. Churning butter takes a long time. You have like have lot arm strength and like – uh endurance because it's just like constant all like up and down it takes a long time yeah and bunnies are not so big that they'll you know pull you or trip you or run away or anything like that you know it's like i mean they could run away but um that one just seemed way easier even from the from the description description yeah but ernie and cindy did say like we learned the hard way after working with the sheep i can't even remember which one

The Amazing Rewatch: When they were in Indonesia, I think. Were we ever in Indonesia? At the beginning. and they were on some sort of like tropical island place. and Yeah. And the sheep looked really.

The Amazing Rewatch: Haggard. Yeah. That's right. Yeah. So she's like, we learned that we don't want to work with animals again. So they choose all churned up. Yeah. and Zach is still struggling with the routine.

The Amazing Rewatch: Andy finishes the roadblock. Jeremy and Sandy finally arrive and Sandy does the roadblock. roadblock. somebody finally gives Imani and Marcus directions to this castle.

The Amazing Rewatch: They're like out in the countryside. yeah the place they're supposed to be is in the city. Yeah. um Bill and Kathy get to the detour clue and shoes all churned out as well.

The Amazing Rewatch: Kathy says, you could probably do this, but i don't think I can. The bunny one. Yeah. So I don't know. ah Those big ferocious bunnies. Yeah. And as Ernie and Cindy are finishing up there, because they have to do six butter form, like butter sticks in these forms. Yeah.

The Amazing Rewatch: They have to redo a few, but not too many. And they finish the detour first. And the clue says, make your way on foot to the call strip windmill.

The Amazing Rewatch: And when they get there, there will be the U-turn. or Actually, it doesn't tell them that. They find that out when they get there. Make your way on foot to the call strip windmill. get there. probably knew that it was coming because.

The Amazing Rewatch: They get there and it's a U-turn, Matt. And they U-turn Bill and Kathy. Yeah. And ert well, Ernie's like, who do you want to U-turn? And Cindy said, Bill and Kathy. And Ernie's like, what? Yeah. Like, why would we do that? And she says, they're right on our tails. Yeah. We want to win. we like She just wanted first place. Yeah, I want to win a freaking league.

The Amazing Rewatch: And it's like, that's okay. That makes sense. You're still acting like it was stolen from you. It wasn't. But the point of the U-turn is to eliminate people. A team that's at the end Yeah.

The Amazing Rewatch: And he's like, okay. So he they U-turned Bill and Kathy. And the whole way to the pit stop, Ernie's like, are you sure we should have done that? And Cindy's like, I don't even, like, she didn't feel bad at all. She's like, I'm sorry I'm the bad guy. I just want to win a freaking league. Well, and she was like, it's a million dollars. Yeah. Like, but it's not a million dollars right now. Yeah. That's what she says. i have a written down later.

The Amazing Rewatch: You have to do what you have to do. it's It's like it's a million dollars on the line. No, it's not. It's just first place. Yeah. And you guys are team number one. And they're right behind you. Anyways.

The Amazing Rewatch: So I don't agree with that, but whatever. And um the clue says drive seven miles back to Copenhagen and find Havit Ship. It's a 60-year-old cargo ship that's been converted into a hotel, which is the next big stop for this leg of the race. The last team to check in may be eliminated.

The Amazing Rewatch: And Bill and Kathy finish up their butter detour and get to the mat and see that they've been U-turned. So they know that they need to U-turn somebody. That one makes more sense. Right. And they say, Lawrence and Zach, we know are behind us, so we U-turn them. Yeah.

The Amazing Rewatch: And they get to the rabbit U-turn and set up all the jumps and... They only have to do one redo. The rabbit knocks over one of the little jumps. And then they pick a different rabbit.

The Amazing Rewatch: And that one was like go. This detour is so So much easier. Yeah. So fast. It doesn't take that long to set up the jumps. There's only like seven. Yeah. And the bunny goes over them really quickly. And both of them have to do it.

The Amazing Rewatch: it has to like do it twice. It probably took them 10 minutes. Yeah. And i if I had to guess, I don't really know. But I bet the butter took like 30 to 45 minutes just sitting there churning. Yeah. So I think we definitely would have chosen the bunny one first.

The Amazing Rewatch: I would hope so. um

The Amazing Rewatch: Andy and Tommy get to the detour clue. They choose the butter one as well, which was weird. And Imani and Marcus finally get to the castle and Imani's doing the roadblock. So the last team, Sandy is finishing up the roadblock and Imani is just starting. Because Zach did finally pass it off. I don't know if we said that. And I did want to point out that even though Lawrence was saying, like, I could have done this one better, whatever, whatever. There were other comments that he said that I was like, okay, you're not being so bad this time. He was like, he's like, he'll get it. And if he doesn't, he doesn't. And it is what it is. And but he's like, he's trying really hard. And I'm like, okay, that's the way that you should be all the time, Lawrence. Yeah.

The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah. He's a little bit more supportive. Yeah. And Bill and Kathy, all right we said we they finished up the second detour. They got the pit stop clue.

The Amazing Rewatch: um When Sandy finishes the roadblock, they get in the car and she says, okay, we can't get lost. And it's this really ominous music. Okay. Thanks for telling us they're going to get lost. And Imani finishes the roadblock.

The Amazing Rewatch: um Lawrence and Zach arrive and they choose the butter detour. And so we have a couple teams heading to the pit stop, a couple of teams just getting to the detour. And we have... And Lawrence and Zach have to do both tasks. Yeah.

The Amazing Rewatch: I wrote down, this is going to be interesting because Jeremy and Sandy always get lost. Yeah. And Money and Marcus get lost a lot too. Yeah. So team number one were Ernie and Cindy.

The Amazing Rewatch: They went a trip to Fiji. And she's very happy about that. but When Andy and Tommy see that they weren't U-turned, they really cannot believe it. Yeah, they're like, can you believe that we weren't U-turned? And they're like, Yeah.

The Amazing Rewatch: Jeremy and Sandy figure out they're going in the wrong direction. So Jeremy's driving and Sandy's navigating. And she she acts like she doesn't... It wasn't her fault or like is not even that worried about it. Yeah, she's like, I know where I'm going. And then a few minutes later, like when it comes back to them, she's like, oh...

The Amazing Rewatch: are we going north? And he's like, yeah. She's like, we're going the wrong way. and he's like, if I would have known that, we would have turned around. And then it seemed, I don't know, like it didn't seem like they were able to turn around for a long time. Yeah.

The Amazing Rewatch: Or i don't know what was happening. And he he kept like mumbling under his breath and like to remember. And she's like, what? Yeah. He's like, nothing. What? From the backseat. What? Nothing. Nothing. We're fine. He's like, she's like,

The Amazing Rewatch: what nothing we're fine but she's she's sitting back there like not stressed or worried whatsoever and he's in the front like what the heck like why did she oh another comment i had about jeremy Why are his shirts like his V-neck shirts like all seem like the neck is just like so stretched out. I don't know if you've noticed that on this like or on this season. haven't noticed that. Maybe you will now. No, that's all I'm going to see. Every shirt he wears is like a V-neck, but the neck seems like it's just been like pulled huh outward. And I'm like, why is he wearing those shirts?

The Amazing Rewatch: I don't know. I never noticed that, but now I will. going to be crazy. Yeah. um Yeah, Lawrence and Zach get to the windmill and they see that they've been U-turned. um And Lawrence is really not happy about it, but they go do the bunny detour.

The Amazing Rewatch: And that's that's a way better one. It happened for both of them that they did the butter first and then like the bunny one second. And that one was like way easier. Yeah. So that's nice. Because Bill and Kathy, like even though they were U-turned, they still finished both tasks before anybody else had even left. Yeah. And check in as team number two.

The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah. And Andy and Tommy are team number three. So, Imani and Marcus are... They chose the bunny detour first. Yeah. They're finishing up the bunny detour as Lawrence and Zach are setting it up.

The Amazing Rewatch: And... um

The Amazing Rewatch: Jeremy and Sandy arrive and can't find the clue box. They see Lawrence and Zach are doing the bunny detour. Yeah. Amani and Marcus had finished before um Sandy and Jeremy arrived. They were, it was so funny ah watching Marcus like,

The Amazing Rewatch: At this detour because he was like so hyped up. He was like, yeah. Every time the bunny would jump over something, he was like, yeah. He would jump every time the bunny would jump. He was like at an NFL game. Yeah. um Yeah. So Jeremy and Sandy arrive. They're kind of running around the place. Can't find the clue box. Yeah. They eventually find it and they choose all churned out. Yeah. like Because Sandy said she's like they were doing that one and it looked hard. We're going to do the other one.

The Amazing Rewatch: I know. And they already ran past and saw it. If I ran past and saw I'd be like, oh, that's easy. Let's do that real quick. Yeah. They said it looked hard. Yeah. So they do all churned out. I'm like, what? Yeah. So Lawrence and Zach finished the detour and they get the pit stop clue and they get lost.

The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah. And Jeremy and Sandy finished the detour. And head to the pit stop as well. Imani and Marcus were team number four. um so yeah, Lawrence and Zach going the wrong direction. they hit traffic.

The Amazing Rewatch: Lawrence starts driving on the um side of the road. Oh, I didn't notice that. And so it's kind of just between Jeremy and Sandy and Lawrence and Zach. And they edit it like this a lot where there's like two teams and the a team that left first makes it seem like they're lost. And the team that is supposedly last, it makes it seem like they know where they're going. But it always, always ends up that they show up to the pit stop in order that they left.

The Amazing Rewatch: But that was not the case this time. Yeah. I was actually really surprised. Yeah. Yeah. So Jeremy and Sandy are team number five. Yeah. And Lawrence Zach are team number six and they are eliminated.

The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah. And Imani and Marcus being team number four without even getting the flight in the same day as everybody else. That's yeah really good. So you never know what's going to happen Yeah. You just got to do your own thing.

The Amazing Rewatch: Keep going. And yeah. But ah thats there was like a quick comment that so Zach said that they were lost for two hours. Yeah. So Denmark is not even that big. I don't know how you can get. You could drive across. You u you could probably drive around a whole circle of that country in two hours. Right. That's what.

The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah. That traffic must have been bad. I don't know. But I'm not that sad to see them go of all the teams that we have left that I didn't really want them. I don't mind Zach. Lawrence just but bothers me.

The Amazing Rewatch: So, yeah.

The Amazing Rewatch: Well, their race average was 4.38, so they actually did pretty well. They never did take a first place, but they got second a couple of times and then like fourth, fifth, sixth a lot of times. So um

The Amazing Rewatch: some of their

The Amazing Rewatch: trivia slash franchise records. They they are the youngest father-son team to compete. Like, their average age was 33. They're the first team to be eliminated in Denmark.

The Amazing Rewatch: Zach is the youngest contestant in the American version of the show age 19. So he was 19. Okay. So we don't really do the team bios anymore because they changed how they put the bios on this website.

The Amazing Rewatch: And it's just like too much to comb through. But they both of these people actually have kind of an impressive experience. background.

The Amazing Rewatch: Like Lawrence is a, he's a yacht manager. So he delivers, teaches, and controls all aspects of yachts under management, technical, and mechanical. I don't really know what that means, but, uh, and then Zach is a record setting boat captain. i he captains boats all around the world doing deliveries. And he was like one of, he was the youngest person to sail around the world.

The Amazing Rewatch: crazy. I can't think of anything I would like to do less. I know. I really have. I would have literally no desire to do that whatsoever. Before the race he was or then? Yeah. Like he was like 18.

The Amazing Rewatch: So it was right before this. And then his sister is also like a sailor. And she tried... She attempted to circumnavigate the world when she was 16, I think. But something happened.

The Amazing Rewatch: And she wasn't able to finish. And like her... Lawrence like made a documentary about her. And it is on Netflix, but not... You can't watch it in the US. It's like oh only in foreign markets. Oh.

The Amazing Rewatch: So... But yeah, i was it a lady that like rode from California to Hawaii recently. Yeah. Yeah. That just sounds terrifying and yeah awful.

The Amazing Rewatch: Yeah. So crazy. I would have no desire. No. um So how old would Zach be now? He's basically your your age. He was born in November 1991. yeah. he's 34.

The Amazing Rewatch: yeah so he's thirty four

The Amazing Rewatch: And it looks like he's still single. Reach out to him. Like, have ever asked you to be back on the race? Can I go with you? ah So he does have a Facebook.

The Amazing Rewatch: This is What does he look like? Zach. I don't want to move my computer and make it shut off. Sunderland. um Look at his Instagram. His Instagram has more ah recent stuff.

The Amazing Rewatch: There's probably a lot of Zach Sunderland. Hold on. I'll tell you what it is. It's Zach, Z-A-C, underscore the underscore sailor.

The Amazing Rewatch: He's got a mustache. And his hair is better. like mustaches? Eh.

The Amazing Rewatch: Not his. Oh. I like mustaches with beards. But just like an only a mustache. I don't know. I just find it. Not my favorite aesthetic.

The Amazing Rewatch: Can you see a picture of him? Let's see. But it looks like he lives... Those mustaches are really... looks really different. Those mustaches are really the thing right now.

The Amazing Rewatch: It looks like he like lives a pretty adventurous life still, though. like There's a picture of him skydiving, a lot of pictures of him sailing, lots of different locations on a motorcycle. has weird tattoo. Yeah.

The Amazing Rewatch: his belly ew like sharp teeth that's gross

The Amazing Rewatch: but he's got a way better haircut now yeah i mean that was not the it was in at that time the the justin bieber hair it wasn't even justin bieber it was like long and kind of like flipped out i yeah you always have to yeah um Lawrence's Instagram is private and his website does not work and his Facebook.

The Amazing Rewatch: Let's see. What does Facebook say?

The Amazing Rewatch: Works at Sunderland's Yacht Management.

The Amazing Rewatch: don't know. I don't really know what he's up to, but his bio on his Instagram says, Master Mariner and father of eight. Eight? Yeah. That's a lot of kids.

The Amazing Rewatch: But between the two of them, even before this race, they had already been a lot of places. Yeah. So.

The Amazing Rewatch: And that they're around all these yachts all the time. They probably don't need the million dollars. Yeah. That's kind of what I was thinking. Yeah.

The Amazing Rewatch: Amani and Marcus, I mean, I know that not every NFL player has like a huge salary, yeah, he probably has enough money too, but he's likable.

The Amazing Rewatch: Yes. And Amani, I love Amani. Yeah. She's always very positive. Well, what what do you think is going to happen next?

The Amazing Rewatch: I bet they'll take a train somewhere in Europe. Yeah. Um, so they, I don't think they will go too far from Denmark and we're at five now.

The Amazing Rewatch: Five. Yep. Top five teams. I bet it's a regular, i don't know how Sandy Lauren or Jeremy, and Jeremy have made it this far. I feel like they have kind of just been hanging on.

The Amazing Rewatch: So I bet they take a train somewhere close by and it's a regular leg with an elimination. Um, Yeah, do we have... How many... i don't think we have more U-turns. i Yeah, no more U-turns. How many non-eliminations have we had? think we've already had like three.

The Amazing Rewatch: So probably no more non-eliminations at this point. Let's see. I can tell you. I won't tell you. So if there's five episodes, we have five teams, we have to have... There would probably have to be one more non-elimination.

The Amazing Rewatch: oh

The Amazing Rewatch: Can I tell you? It's kind of like a continuation. The next episode? The next episode. To be continued. In order to continue racing. And you're probably right about locations. Are we going to watch the next one right now?

The Amazing Rewatch: Cool. I'm excited to see how this season ends up. yeah I know who wins, but I don't think I know who's in the top three. So that doesn't usually happen.

The Amazing Rewatch: So Bill and Kathy have made it really far. They've been doing well. They have kind of hit a stride. They don't really make mistakes. They work well together. Mm-hmm.

The Amazing Rewatch: Jeremy and Sandy always get lost. And fight. And fight. Amani and Marcus always get lost, but they always seem to make it through because they have a good attitude. And they always do good on the detours.

The Amazing Rewatch: So I think Ernie and Cindy and Andy and Tommy are probably like the front runners as far as...

The Amazing Rewatch: Well, the front runners. Nothing else to add to that. So it'll be interesting to see how the remaining legs go. Yeah. Okay. Well, thanks for listening. Come to the next episode and we'll see you soon.
