Misconceptions about Spiritual Growth

00:00:35
Speaker
It's miracle season.
00:00:40
Speaker
think You think you're growing spiritually, but what if you're just avoiding real growth? There are four signs I see all the time and people miss.
00:00:51
Speaker
You stick around because the fourth one you're going need to know. Number one is people confuse avoidance with peace. What do I mean by that?
00:01:03
Speaker
So, you know, ah they're all about setting boundaries, protecting their energy. They won't want to be around any negative people, no gossip, nothing that's going to really trigger them.
00:01:14
Speaker
They avoid, but they think they're keeping a peace. But all they're doing is denying their shadow self, denying their triggerist, denying the truth they need to face. A better way to acknowledge this part of your journey, for example, if people or the environment's negative, you go into the negative environment. And guess what?
00:01:34
Speaker
You feel what comes with that, but you don't judge it. You observe what's happened inside of you. Because the outside shouldn't change how you feel on the inside unless you give it power. You give it authority. You choose that it's taking you out of your peace.

True Peace vs. Avoidance

00:01:52
Speaker
But until you face these things that you seem negative or you don't like confrontation because you're trying to keep the peace. Listen, I was that guy all the time. was cool. was cool. was cool. It's really not cool. Confront the thing you avoid and you will get the peace.
00:02:06
Speaker
Number two, personal development. We got all the knowledge. We gained the wisdom. We learned the teachings. We even buy courses. I had all this knowledge. But guess what?
00:02:16
Speaker
You know why this is one of the signs? Because I couldn't embody it. I wasn't embodying the knowledge I gained. I wasn't embodying the information. So all I had was information. So guess what? It was staying right here at the top of my crown.
00:02:29
Speaker
So when I'm speaking, it's going over people. Because they don't feel the conviction that I'm embodied in what I know. Because I'm not allowing that energy to come through my body where it's grounded and it goes out. Because it's coming from a place of conviction.
00:02:47
Speaker
And you can feel it. always say, he or she. who feels it, knows it. But most times we have a lot of knowledge and insight we haven't embodied because we haven't experienced it.
00:03:01
Speaker
When you're getting knowledge, make sure you can embody it. If I say right now, hey, if you do 100 pushups a day, in 21 days you're gonna be stronger. That sounds good, right? But if I actually do the 100 pushups every day for 21 days and you see me doing it on the 21st day, you're gonna feel from this experience that I've done this before.
00:03:21
Speaker
And that's why most of this spiritual work is really identity work. But the reason we can't tap into that new identity or that stronger identity because we cannot embody it. You have to embody it. You have to integrate it for it to be fulfillment.
00:03:35
Speaker
And it's not look good. It feels good. And your life presents that everywhere you go.

Internal Motivation and Self-Acceptance

00:03:40
Speaker
Number three is we're intentionally doing these spiritual things to get validation.
00:03:48
Speaker
Right. We're looking for validation of, oh, Eric said his silence for 30 minutes. Oh, Eric prays five times a day. Oh, Eric worked out two times a day. Cool story. Good job. But what is the real intentions of it? So we have to stop seeking validation in our spiritual alignment. We have to stop looking for attention outside of ourselves to feel like what we're doing is enough.
00:04:12
Speaker
Because if no one's looking, I'm going to be still doing this work. To embody the identity of spiritual fitness within me, I have to take a line of action and do the work. Not if you like a video, if you share a quote, or you sign up to coach with me. No, I'm not looking for outcomes.
00:04:32
Speaker
from the outside world. I'm looking for income, the internal investment of I'm in full acceptance of self because I know what I'm doing is going to change my world and change my life. Therefore, it will change yours. I promise you.
00:04:47
Speaker
Let me tell you why. Because I'm doing the work every day when no one's looking. And I'm not looking for you to look for it. If you see it, great. If not, it's all right. We're going to embody spiritual fitness. So in your day-to-day and what you're doing, make sure you're doing it because this is something you really want to do and not because you want someone to like you. Why are you looking for the people in the crowd?
00:05:08
Speaker
You're the first member of your show. But if you're looking for the crowd before you show up to the show, you're doing it for validation. ah I remember I used to post years ago, if I didn't get likes or comments, I would delete it on TikTok.
00:05:20
Speaker
Oh, we're deleted. Oh, we got 180 views. Take me down. Why? Because I'm looking for validation. So stop that.

Radical Responsibility for Personal Growth

00:05:27
Speaker
And last but not least, if you stuck around for this, ooh, baby, this going to change. As a matter of fact, this is going change everybody's life.
00:05:33
Speaker
Radical responsibility. Some of us are only responsible to an extent. We don't want to be radically responsible. Or you get in an argument or a confrontation with a friend or family member and you're just loud and you're talking over them you don't want to listen.
00:05:51
Speaker
And the reason you don't want to listen is because you want to win. And they're saying like, man, every time I talk to you, you never want to listen. You just always want to be right. And I can be like, no, no, I don't because I know what I'm talking about. Instead of saying, you know what?
00:06:02
Speaker
You're right. I'm sorry. I didn't want to be wrong and I was wrong. So please forgive me. That's radical responsibility. And it's so hard to self-correct or take radical responsibility where you seem like lesser of the individual or you have to get off your ego.
00:06:20
Speaker
And a lot of times that's how ego at play, running a show, controlling our paradigm, controlling our thoughts, controlling controlling our thinking controlling our communication that's stopping elevation and the real growth from taking place because we're not taking radical responsibility.
00:06:37
Speaker
Some of you, say for your partner, some of you men, you told your wife, you told your lady, you told your woman, you're just going take the trash out. But then when you get held accountable, you make all these excuses. oh I was tired. I got home late. I thought I told you I couldn't do it. Instead of saying, you know what? You're right. I'm sorry. I messed up.
00:06:54
Speaker
I'm going to do it right now. I'm going to it tomorrow. We have to take radical responsibility because when you do that, that's how you really grow. You can't grow if you're not living in truth. And radical responsibility equals truth.
00:07:07
Speaker
So where are you avoiding the truth because you don't want to be radically responsible? And look, to be responsible is very uncomfortable. I know it. There's still ways and spaces in my life where I'm still avoiding things that I know I need to face because of what? I'm afraid of something. I'm afraid of rejection. I'm afraid of the reality of that thing comes to the surface, whatever.
00:07:30
Speaker
But it's small. Instead of saying, you know what? I'm going to face this. I'm going to take what comes with this because this is going to allow me to grow. So to all of you out here watching, listening, please.
00:07:43
Speaker
This is the main thing in all of our life. Learn how to take radical responsibility. Those four signs, what people miss mostly in the evolution of spirituality, personal development and growth.
00:07:59
Speaker
So make sure you don't you don't miss the four signs and you go back. And you listen and you watch this because it's important. There it is. Spiritual
