Global Sports Podcast Network
Okay, and we will start off with some post-match review, where unfortunately Bormut lost ah last weekend against the seagulls in Vitality.
00:01:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
Despite having a um ah man down, Brighton managed to get away with all three points um and it was um only their third Premier League away win of the season. Unfortunately, Beaumont did miss to secure ah the fourth, it is, yeah, it is the fourth cons consecutive top flight home win.
00:02:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Unlucky for Bulmuth, Jar Pedro, who has been injured for some time, has been back now on the pitch and he had an amazing game against Bulmuth. Scored the first goal already in the fourth minute and had an assist in the fourth minute of the second half as well. um It was a great play between Danny Welbeck and Jar Pedro.
00:02:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
um where the ball ended up coming to Giorginio Ruta, who had a shot on goal, Kepa saved, but rebounded the ball only to Jarpedro, who placed the ball in the net for 1-0. Cherries did dominate the first half, um unluckily didn't score, Semenya had his first chance when he narrowly missed the bottom corner, Klyvert Ivano soon as well,
00:03:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
But Van Bruggen was on top of his task again and a great, great game from from the ah Brighton goalkeeper as well. There was just before the end of the first half, there was a great chance where Bournemouth was a bit unlucky because they were caught in offside. It was a great pass from Semenya into the space for Clyvert, where he squared to Vanilsson, but unfortunately the goal did not stand. um Moving on to the second half. Again, the fourth minute of the of the second half. and
00:04:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
Brighton scored for 2-0. Mitoma scored this time. Pedro had an assist. It was a delightful through ball from Pedro and Mitoma.
00:04:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
just had an easy steady finish, like a top tire striker. So 2-0 to Brighton, Bournemouth was in shock. And tried to get back straight away with a chance from Mevanilsson, who actually missed the target from six yards. um And unluckily um for Brighton in the 59th minute,
00:04:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
Valleba, Carlos Valleba, the midfielder, got the second yellow card and was sent off, which was a great um great time and a great chance for Bournemouth to ah get not one but two goals and maybe get away with that point at home would have been much ah much better than rather than losing all the points. so um
00:05:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
Everyone expected that Bournemouth is going to start hard now, he's going to be pushing more and more, which they did, but not in the same way um as they did against Villa, against Arsenal, against City. It was just different Bournemouth team this weekend. The weather wasn't great for throughout the whole game, but the last 15 minutes of the game where Well, it was quite windy and wet in the stadium, which obviously was great for Beaumont, so any strike would get even more pace if the ball ah hit the ground just before hitting the net. um There was one chance for Mevanilsson,
00:06:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
nail nearly 10 minutes before the end of the game, where his header towards the goal ah slipped through Verbergen's gloves. ah But Verbergen, who was um on top of his his task, ah managed to recover before the ball crossed the line and got his hands on it. And um stoppage time, most of the fans already gave up, were ready to ah Swallow the fact that Beaumont is gonna lose three points um However, David Brooks who came onto the pitch just a few minutes before ah the stoppage time i managed to get his name onto the score sheet with a lovely finish with his outside of left boot Which gave us a little bit of hope to maybe try and go for the second goal
00:06:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
Unluckily, we we did not we did not play that well. Brighton managed to save the lead, even with the man down, and got away with all three points. And a fun fact, the in their last in in the last five games, head to head between Bournemouth and Brighton, Bournemouth actually won four, which does not sound great for Bournemouth.
00:07:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
So, yeah, ah final score, Boomer Brighton 1-2. Let's go for a quick outbreak and we'll be back to talk about the news in the club and what's going on in and around the club.

Transfer Speculations: Kerkas, Unial, and Araujo

00:08:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
All right, we're back after the outbreak. And in the next segment, we will be talking about some interesting fact, interesting news that we got um actually last week, but it's it's becoming more and more serious. And um I actually don't like saying and hearing this, but our amazing left back miloskerkas might be on the way out, even this winter transfer period.
00:09:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Allegedly, Liverpool and Chelsea are racing um um to get a deal signing our left-back characters for around 40 million.
00:09:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
now The price, price-wise, yeah, would be great because we got him only for 15. So making more than double ah in ah just under two seasons, it's a great deal. But what's next? What are we going to do with our left back?
00:09:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
Kayakazu has obviously caught the eye since since that move to Bournemouth in 2023. um And one of the ah one of the staff members who actually went from Bournemouth to Liverpool, sports director Richard Hughes, and he was in charge of the deal. And to be honest, he's the main reason why Liverpool is now pursuing to sign Kirkis.
00:10:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
Caracas has this season had two assists in 12 games um and his game was just quite energetic since the beginning. um Liverpool are obviously looking at long-term options because Robertson is out for injury until the end of March and Simicus, the replacement left back, ah doesn't really seem like a great um sort of replacement. Kirkus obviously plays much better in that position than Simicus.
00:10:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Kirkus was actually um linked with Liverpool um even before he moved to Bournemouth. um One bad thing for us could be that one of his teammates from the Hungarian national team also plays for Liverpool, Dominic Soboslai. And um yeah, I would understand if Caracas would choose to go because he would have, you know, mates, club mates.
00:11:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Manchester United is that second, let's say second team that could potentially get their hands on Caracas. um
00:11:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
but ah if if anyone is going to sign Kirk is my opinion that will be Liverpool. Now another player that could potentially live boomer this winter is probably most of you didn't expect me to say this but Anes Unial might be actually going on a lawn spell too severe so back in La Liga um It's quite a surprise for everyone, obviously, ah but Unyal, who has spent over six years in Spain before he signed for Bumet, didn't really show his real striker um talent and didn't really get even many minutes playing in Bumet.
00:12:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah Everyone was quite happy when they saw him the first time on the pitch. He was quite energetic. Last season, second half of the season, he had two goals as well. He was looking great and coming into this season now. He had this bad injury where he was out for nearly three months and um something is just missing. he hes he's not he's not He's just not, he cannot find his form.
00:12:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
Now, Iraola's opinion on that is quite positive ah because he's welcome to let him go out and learn in order to help him regain his form by getting more minutes, ah being more consistent. That might help Bormuth for the next season.
00:13:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
um It's very likely as as the news say um that he will be leaving in winter um and Sevilla is the the club ah that could probably take the advantage of um of him being being out on loan. Now one of the very last news and it's not it's not good, that's why I left it for the end is Unfortunately, um one of the new signings that we had this summer Julian Orajo right back is going to be out for months now. um Last week he's just undergone hamstring surgery. We could all see in the game against Brentford the week before.
00:13:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
um that he he wasn't on the pitch for long but ah he just he just couldn't play. um he He obviously had a problem and pulled up short against Brentford. It could be three, it could be five, six months. Let's let's just hope it's it's not going to be as much. um He's unfortunately only made eight appearance appearances this season and hopefully he will be back before the end of the season.
00:14:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
um And um that's all with news. um At the moment, let's go for another quick ad break and we'll be back with a little surprise. Stay tuned.

Player Performances and Prospects: Traore, Semenya, and Stavani

00:15:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hello again and welcome back. ah Now I did end the last segment with um kind of surprise. that's going to be in this one and it is actually quite a surprise because one of the players that was barely spoken about, ah who spent in Bournemouth last two seasons, I believe, ah went um on loan to different clubs but couldn't find his boots, is finally starting to shine. And you might guess who this is, ah but I'll have to reveal. We're talking about Hamid Traore.
00:16:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
and Hametrori, who have spent two seasons in Bournemouth, wasn't really impressing much. ah He joined the Cherries um after the initial loan deal in 22-23 season, ah but then because he did not make any appearances, he was sent ah back to Napoli for another loan ah for the whole season, 23-24.
00:16:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
It was quite a failure as well, amidst the Italian-sized turbulence. And then they managed to, when when he came back to Bournemouth after the loan, he went straight away to another loan in Auxerre in France. Now, ah looking at his time in Auxerre, play ah seems to be finally um blossoming. So far, he has six goals in league one and one assist. And he also scored a vital goal against Anjur.
00:17:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
a couple of games ago. um The outlet does make it clear that Traore will return to Bulma at the end of the season and this is really good because his performance is um impressing the cherries. Now, why am I saying this could be really good? In case we do lose Milos Kerkas, obviously we we saw Dango playing a few games as a left back which was quite good. I'm not going to lie, I was impressed by Dango playing left back because he did really well. um And we could potentially have Hametro as a backup on the on the left or right wing.
00:18:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
um This entire situation was actually presented as a bit of regret for Napoli, who could never really make full use of Troyori during his time there. So yeah, Hamid, one message for you. If you're listening to this, just carry on, mate. We will welcome you back in Bournemouth and we will give you a chance. Now, another potential transfer, potential great player that we could lose. We already spoke about him, but
00:18:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
We didn't quite mention this club um and um we're talking about Anton Semenya. Semenya was really impressive this season. um He starts so far.
00:18:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
He's called four goals. um His average match match rating is above seven. um And Newcastle might be um sending an offer and trying to sign him already this transfer window. Now, we all know the coach of Newcastle is Eddie Howe, former coach of Bournemouth. He's worked with Semenya, he knows him.
00:19:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
And also ah alongside Semenya, another player that we could potentially lose is Marco Stavani. Because they were both impressive this season. um they They're both in good form. Semenya obviously with more goals on the score sheet um and a bit better ah match rating.
00:19:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Would probably be the first signing, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them leaving in pair Taverny on the other side one goal and to assist this season and it It's been all right and I can see more coming from him um Until even until this winter transfer period now boomers FC boomers response to all those news and and um rumors where that Bournemouth actually have no intention of any key men living in January ah because it could potentially result in Bournemouth maybe even being relegated by the end of the the season.
00:20:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
um The board of Cherries is quite positive, ah quite energetic, I would say, and they believe that Beaumont could actually even qualify for European football this season. Now, a fun fact about Marcus Tavernier, he was actually in his Young time. So when he was youth, he actually did used to play for Newcastle, but Newcastle released him when he was 13 years old. and Was there a mistake? Are they regretting it now? Maybe maybe not. um In case it does come to transfer, we will probably find out more to that story.
00:21:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah One of the statements that Tavernier has given after the 2-1 loss against Brighton, um he admitted that they had to be more focused on avoiding such moments, but also felt that they did not take the full advantage of um Carlos Belébo's second half sending off. Obviously, they're down to 10 men, so you feel like you can force the ball into the box of force um some passes because we are outnumbering them.
00:21:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah but we didn't really give time to move their team to create opportunities for ourselves. We focused more on getting the ball in the box and by the end we got a goal from it, but we didn't quite relax into that third.
00:21:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
But when you're chasing a game, these things happen. You're desperate to score a goal. And that's what we were. We were too nil down. So it was a tough one. And I'm sure we can work on that when we are up against the team with 10 men to recycle the ball and get the ball into the box in different ways. And yeah, his statement was great because we did see that we can come back as we did against Villa. um We did see that we can play amazingly when um when the other team is manned down, which was against the Arsenal.
00:22:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
um So it was it was just one of those days, one of those things. um And now um ahead of the weekend this weekend's game against Wolverhampton, where we will be hosted by Gary O'Neill, it will be quite interesting to see ah if Bournemouth can actually get back on that track and potentially get an away win.
00:22:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
Now, looking at the last five head-to-head games between Wolves and Bulmuth, it's actually quite even. Bulmuth won two games, Wolves won two games, and one game ended in a draw. ah Not many goals, only one of the games has seen three goals when Wolves dominated against Bulmuth in 2023 in Vitality, taking a 2-1 away

Preparing for Wolves: Strategies and Challenges

00:23:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
win. um I was at the game, I was at the ground, we were 1-0 up, and and the first half and then we lost um hopefully won't happen the same this time um and hopefully the cherries will be back on track um for wolves things were looking fairly bleak fairly bleak um not too long ago but after back-to-back Premier League wins
00:23:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
They come into this latest round outside the the bottom three. ah For those successive victories they had, Wolves would actually sit bottom of the table and that pair of wins has served to massively relieve some of the pressure on their boss Gary Neal, who had previously overseen their longest stretch without victory from the start of a league campaign since the season.
00:24:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
83-84 when they had 10 matches ah without without any victories. It's really hard to believe that Vols have found wins so hard to come by given they've scored in each of their last 11 Premier League games, which is quite impressive. ah The joint longest current running the league ahead of the round. ah That round could be about to ah grind to an abrupt half against Bournemouth.
00:24:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
O'Neill's former club, as we mentioned, against whom Wolves had drawn a scoring blank in three of the last four head-to-heads. Despite being only four places above Wolves in the pre- ah table three rounds, six points only separate the Cherries from their Midlands counterparts. um After picking up seven points from three games against sites who finished in the top four last season,
00:24:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
Cherry's form has nosedived since back-to-back defeats preventing them from threatening the European picture. um If we would have gotten at least one point from the last two games, I would have been much happier. Cherry's away form certainly isn't helping either, the quest to climb the table, because we have been winless in in our last four away games. One draw against the Villa and the three losses. It was the Leicester loss ah that probably should have been a win for us um but we did a match review on that and um
00:25:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
Let's try and forget the past and and and the bad moments and think forward and look forward. um Some hot stats. um Head of the round, Wolves have conceded a league-high eight Premier League goals after the 75th minute. And the the good thing is the Wolves have actually scored seven after the 75th minute. So we could have quite an interesting end of the game.
00:26:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
um and This weekend and I would really really love to see boomer taking away all those three points and for wolves They've got one of the one of the strikers as a let's say player to watch player to pay attention on and ah Gonzalo Gadesh, who scored his fourth goal against Fulham, involved for one win last weekend. It was his fifth successive league goal actually at club level. um On the other side, David Brooks probably will start on the bench, but he could make ah quite an impact if he ah comes onto the pitch in the second half.
00:27:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
and
00:27:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
Funny fact about David Brooks, um five of his last six club goals have arrived after the break. So um his last five ah goals that he scored for Bournemouth were actually in the second half. So Brooksy, get ready for that second half and score after 75th minute.

Announcements and Future Plans

00:27:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
Right, we won't talk any more about um the pre-match review.
00:27:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
um because we have a crossover episode which will come out on Friday morning ah with the guys from Wolves and we might be mentioning some of the things that I mentioned to you now um but we will definitely be talking more in depth about the game some of the previous games between these two teams and also share our expectations I hope you enjoyed this episode. um From next week, um we will be back on track, be more consistent and try to get each day at least one episode. Until then, I hope you all stay safe, stay healthy and up the cherries.
