00:00:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hello everyone and welcome to our new Daily AFC Boomer episode where your host Vic today is joined by a new cookie, new member of our team Dan King, Dan THE King the big Dan, how are you Dan?
00:00:26
Dan King
I'm good Victor. Lovely to hear from you and lovely to hear from everybody else. Up the cherries.
00:00:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
After cherries right now Many of you, maybe none of you know, right? How Dan and I met. Dan and I used to play football for a lower division um club back in the days. We're talking about, what it was it seven years ago?
00:00:47
Dan King
Yep, seven years ago. Seven years ago you were in goal.
00:00:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
I was in goal. You were the little striker number 10.
00:00:51
Dan King
Crazy.
00:00:54
Dan King
Yeah, I had the limelight. You had the hard job to save the goals. Often we didn't save the goals and often we lost, but it's a bit like Bournemouth back then and seven years ago. Now look at us.
00:01:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
that's that That's why we we decided to hang the booth and that's it. We decided to you know make families and go go a different way. Right. Now, I'm glad you joined me, Dan.

Global Sports Podcast Network
Right. Oh my god, so many memories going through my head now from from the days when we used to play ah those counter-attacks made. I would catch the ball, then send you diagonal pass into the space and you would just finish. That that was a two-touch finish. Oh my god. well What a season we had, right?
00:02:40
Dan King
What a season.
00:02:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
um um What a season. um And yes, some of the other lads as well, I've seen, I've seen them you go together to the games and hopefully we'll be able to get them on our podcast, maybe even as guests, if not to join um as hosts. But um for now, I want to hear your thoughts about Bournemouth's form,

Dan's Bournemouth Fandom

00:03:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
right? So far this season, ah and you as a fan who, if I'm wrong, correct me, but I think you go to every single game.
00:03:11
Dan King
Most games and a little bit harder when you have a little one, but I try and go all the home games and as many away games as possible too.
00:03:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
Right, so tell me about your views and your experience from from it.
00:03:23
Dan King
Wow. Like I said, I've been a fan for a long time. It's been a real big experience from being at the League Two just about to be relegated and attending home and away then to where we are now.
00:03:38
Dan King
I feel like I'm living in a dreamland, not only being on this with you, Victor, obviously seeing you from the goalkeeper. I think you're in a bit of dreamland there, counter-attacking football. I don't think we played that.
00:03:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
Never stop dreaming.
00:03:49
Dan King
I think that's that's what Bournemouth played. that it's a We're in a really dream situation being a Bournemouth fan. and If you like football and you're a neutral and you listen to this, start watching Bournemouth because you'll enjoy it.

Bournemouth's Gameplay Philosophy

00:04:03
Dan King
and The high tempo, it's exciting. ah I take myself back with, you speak about some people who went to watch some football and and play football with. ah We were chatting about it at the game, back about a few seasons ago when we had Scott Parker. We were winning in the championship, ah but the football was boring. And I look at where we are now and the ownership model we have.
00:04:27
Dan King
It's just getting better and better. The owners have shared with me, I have a fortunate position that I've sat on a supporters experience group and they've shared me insights about their philosophy. Their philosophy took before a roller even came. That was their philosophy as a company. They wanted to play attacking football and they are, it's just entertainment. We're we're connected with WWE.
00:04:49
Dan King
as well. It just shows us we're entertainment and look, we're winning so many games but even last season we weren't winning at the beginning. We were playing the entertainment football and I am loving it. Victor, it's great to be a cherry isn't it?
00:05:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
Honestly, i ah almost every episode I... um I do mention that for everyone who is not the cherry supporter yet, now is the best time to become one. It's me obviously being in football for years and then ah back in Serbia, even playing on a semi-professional level, i um I'm glad that I managed to redirect my passion for football to become a cherry fan. And the now second season already that I'm going to watch every home game, um it's it's just something special.
00:05:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Even though, you know, we're we're the club with the smallest stadium in the league. um Like you said, what was it back 2007, 2008, when we were nearly to to be relegated from the league too as well?
00:05:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Obviously, I wasn't in the country yet, but um yeah, just going from there to where we are now and ah fighting for...
00:05:58
Dan King
It makes me proud though, Victor. It makes me proud. You're, you're Jerry's fan.
00:06:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I feel proud as well, of course.
00:06:02
Dan King
This, this, this, this is, this is what we wanted. Like, uh, if, if any of the, um, people associated with club were listening to this today, this is what they wanted. They want as get as many fans, new fans as possible involved with the club.
00:06:16
Dan King
You're going every week now on a home game. That's exactly what we wanted.
00:06:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
and hopefully with the new stadium in the next few years, um or oh the one that that that's going to be extended, right the Vitality. Well, with more seats, we'll be able to get more fans in.
00:06:33
Dan King
it may you well that It comes with other complexities as well. you If we rebuild the current stadium, what happens when we're playing the games? We're losing and income there, so there's still two options, I believe. Two options. One, rebuild the stadium slightly, but then I think more realistically, it's going to be next to it where the training ground is.
00:06:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
where with the training ground. I even thought of where the electric truck is. maybe Maybe that's the option, but again, that's all Council's land, isn't it?
00:07:01
Dan King
It is and but there's agreements I was part about nearly 10 years ago where they talked about one of the agreement would be moving the stadium to another the athletic stadium as part of the agreement if needed to.
00:07:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
Right, well hopefully you will be able to give us more information about the club in our future episodes.

Pre-game Thoughts & Southampton Match

00:07:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah And right, so before we start talking about the post-match review, obviously you were at the game, ah you were at St. Mary's um and you're going to have a lot to talk about, about right? Especially because we won't again. um But before we we dive into everything, we're going to go for a short break um and let's hear what our sponsors have to say.
00:08:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
Right, I really want to hear from you. How was it on Saturday? How was it in St Mary's? And how cool was it seeing the Saints fans leaving before the end of the game?
00:09:11
Dan King
Ah, wow. Well, there was chance after 10 minutes of, is there a fire exit? Because there's fans leaving after the 2-0. I've done St. Mary's a couple of times. it' It's been a really interesting because they've changed their seating where the way fans sit, switch it completely the other side of the stadium.
00:09:29
Dan King
and Actually improved the atmosphere because the fans are closer together. and It was just, It's, again, an amazing experience from the beginning, from the atmosphere, when the Saints go to the championship that was being sang before the game and a few minutes in the game when we scored. And and then there was a couple of other ironic chants, something like ah singing a play at Pompey and songs like that linked to Southampton, just to rub the salt in the wound. We were, yeah, really enjoyable.
00:10:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
And tell me, I mean, before the game, right? um I was aware that some of your friends had thoughts on the game and expected Neil Neil's score. What were your thoughts about that?
00:10:19
Dan King
Wow, I did actually a Southampton podcast just before the game and they asked me what I thought and I was i was actually really nervous because Southampton were getting better and obviously born for a great run. Obviously apart from the Liverpool game, I felt a little bit nervous because saint Saints had something to prove to us. um I thought it was going to be 2-2. Luckily we got the two goals early and I felt a little bit more relaxed. But um when I spoke to most of the fans there was actually a sense of nerves because as Bournemouth fans, we don't want to be too optimistic because, you know, or even though we are starting to be, because then you you're going to be happy no matter what, aren't you? So yeah.
00:11:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah yeah Yeah, you are right there. i um in In the pre-match episode, which I did as a crossover episode from the from our colleagues with our colleagues from um from Southampton, um they weren't as positive.
00:11:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah They thought that they might get away with something, but they said, we if we get a draw, we will be happy.
00:11:25
Dan King
ah
00:11:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
My score prediction was 2-1. Obviously, I was one goal off. um I did predict the the whole starting 11, which I usually get to do ah now with my experience watching the cherries every game.
00:11:38
Dan King
Well, even with Clive, even with Clive, that was a lucky one. Do you not see Clive ah wife in labor the night before?
00:11:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, I did not see that.
00:11:46
Dan King
If you've not seen that video, please watch it because he's got a video he put on Instagram where he said, push it real hard well while she was pregnant, about to just a baby.
00:11:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, no. No.
00:11:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah Really?
00:11:56
Dan King
Yeah.
00:11:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
Well, i no, I didn't i didn't really say that, but congratulations to Justin, and right? but We got to say that. And yeah, obviously, the chair is, I don't know. i As we said before, it's it's it's a great feeling being a part of all this. um When we did one of the episodes, preseason episodes, on our expectations, how everything is going to go, are we going to be able to stay in the prem,
00:12:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
um My prediction was to finish in position number eight. Now, many people were laughing at me right in the beginning. And I said, well, why not? I believe it's possible. The way they really carried on playing from the game where we turned everything around against Burnley last season ah and obviously achieving the 45, was it 48 or 48 points, um which was a record, um club records. um
00:12:54
Dan King
Which will be beaten this year.
00:12:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
which will be beaten this season, and right?

Bournemouth's European Ambitions

00:12:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Yeah, it gave me the optimism and, you know, it gave me hope that we can do even better. um I wasn't really thinking as far as the Europe, but I can i can really say now that my passport is ready.
00:13:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
And the funny part of all that would be, what if a club that I support from Serbia comes to play against Vomit? This is going to be very interesting, right?
00:13:22
Dan King
What about an away game in Serbia? That's what we're looking for.
00:13:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
What about, oh, you don't want to play an away game in Serbia, man.
00:13:26
Dan King
Yeah, we do. We do. we You've got contacts, haven't you?
00:13:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
Oh.
00:13:30
Dan King
I think, Victor, we can all go over. I've got a group of friends. We'll get our flights ready, and we're all excited to go over there.
00:13:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
Right, I, listen, I think our children should have their fathers right for the rest of their lives.
00:13:41
Dan King
so
00:13:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
So maybe, maybe that wouldn't be that safe. I don't know if you ever seen any, any of the Serbian dubs, especially where they play um Red Star Belgrade against partisan Belgrade.
00:13:44
Dan King
ah
00:13:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's one of the most five most dangerous daubies in the world. and
00:13:57
Dan King
Not like the Bournemouth Southampton one, just going back to that game. like I've never seen so many Southampton friends be so friendly with us as well.
00:14:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
i mean
00:14:05
Dan King
It's usually a bit like ah we're usually close together. It was kind of the roles reversed. There's days that um when Southampton used to loan us players because they had the better team and they were supporting us.
00:14:16
Dan King
It was completely the other way. It it looked like Southampton trying to pander to our ego because they, in the future, might wanna borrow some of our players.
00:14:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
but they got all i mean we had we had lonies to south ampton was brooks he was in south ampton last season i remember yeah
00:14:26
Dan King
Yeah.
00:14:30
Dan King
Yeah, and we're learning to them, but there's through this period, there's some great players from Southampton that lean to somebody called Jack Court, somebody called Andrew Sermon. and Yeah, and it's there there's always been a pattern of them feeding to help us. They speak about, it's quite interesting looking at some of the fans forum from Southampton. They were speaking about the game that they, and they used to put money in the bucket to Bournemouth to keep them going. And then, ah can they come and help us now? They're asking for their favour back.
00:15:01
Dan King
Obviously that didn't happen.
00:15:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
That didn't happen.
00:15:03
Dan King
We went 1-0 up quite early. And I'll be honest, the whole game, the whole while the whole start first 10 minutes, we were just pressing them. They looked like the worst team in the league.
00:15:14
Dan King
A real comparison to when we watched them home game, because I actually thought they were a little bit unlucky first half in their home game when they played us. and But they just looked like they're falling in pieces, couldn't handle us.
00:15:24
Dan King
ah Brian Christie in the midfield was dominating, just so chasing down. and Tyler Adams ah writerta did a um a interview about what is Tyler Adams good at and he said about eating up space and you watching that game, he is cheea just finds out where the past is going to be, his press is amazing.
00:15:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:15:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
He's got such a great anticipation there.
00:15:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think he's a bit underrated.
00:15:50
Dan King
Captain America.
00:15:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think he's a bit underrated. We we don't talk about Tyler Adams much. um Obviously, we didn't get the chance to see him until this season, like to start properly and and and play ah since he arrived from Leeds where he was most of the time injured and now seeing him.
00:16:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
you know I was a bit worried when he recovers fully, right? Where is he going to play? Because we had Christie and Kirk playing as CDMs, which were great as partners.
00:16:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
So who are you going to bench? What are you going to do? right Are you going to put Christie a bit more forward, like let's let's say as a central attack in middle?
00:16:24
Dan King
We tried that. It didn't work. It didn't work.
00:16:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
I know. I know.
00:16:27
Dan King
You can't play.
00:16:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
but
00:16:27
Dan King
You can't play you can't take k Christie out of it. You've got to keep cooking Addams.
00:16:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
No.
00:16:33
Dan King
Cooking Addams, one of them has to play with Christie. But fortunately, obviously, right back is now Cook's new position.
00:16:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
I mean he's doing well, he's he's he's an all around player.
00:16:40
Dan King
Mr. No,
00:16:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
it's is's like He's the player who can play a center back, a right back, a CDM, a CM, like I haven't seen him play Striker yet.
00:16:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah but But with the injuries that we got this season right.
00:16:50
Dan King
no not yet.
00:16:51
Dan King
but
00:16:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
Never said ever.
00:16:55
Dan King
He might be the next one, he might be the next one. I think he's ah almost up there with Dango's versatility. and I would say though, like Arela was commenting it a few weeks back about Cook.
00:17:05
Dan King
He's the one, he's a special play, he said. He said that Lewis Cook, he's and obviously being in the centre mid, you've got to be ready to turn and quit knowing the quick pass.
00:17:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:17:15
Dan King
When you're a full bat, you've got to have a bit of pace about him. And I've not realised he's been this quick. he's Lewis Cook has been another hidden gem. Call him up for England, I say. He kept Anthony Gordon out.
00:17:28
Dan King
He's keeping all these big teams big players out. and yeah We could speak about all of them. All of them. We are very blessed.
00:17:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think he did well and and obviously it was a bit unlucky against Liverpool that he committed the penalty but from the stance what we saw that wasn't looking like a penalty it looked like Gackport tripped himself um over it was you know but again Kuk he didn't complain so he him he must have touched him or something ah but again for the rest of the game he was good he he you know he was good so um what will happen when Smith is gonna be back you know what will happen with when Araujo is gonna be back
00:17:56
Dan King
Very good.
00:18:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Obviously, you you could see Irela's ambitions by not keeping Max Sarens in the team, ah because he just couldn't find his his spot, um I guess, and and then giving Kuk the chance to play the right back in front of the proper right back, you know, can tell you something.

Ownership & Player Strategy

00:18:22
Dan King
I think it's just the attitude. I think you've got to buy into the and buy into the road away or buy into the Bournemouth way. It's high press. Everyone's in it together. No one's bigger than anybody else. It's a team fill. If you look at the team like individually, you can't... Well, they are getting better and better and a higher price tag, but they've been there for a couple of seasons now and you're looking at them going, like who is that star player? They're star players because they're joining together. its Yeah.
00:18:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, and and it it makes you ah feel scared. If one or two of them leave the club, how will that affect the whole squad? And will there be good enough replacement for them, you know? And I don't know, I just i just hope we can keep as many as we can. Obviously with the with the rumors around and everything that's going on.
00:19:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah we can sort of have a picture of who he's going to go um this summer. But let's not jump into conclusions because if Bournemouth gets into Europe, right, then maybe some of the wage increases ah will keep players you know in the team because they will play Europe at the end of the day.
00:19:36
Dan King
Financial Fair Play will mean we'll have to sell somebody. So we we we are burdened by that. So we will have to sell somebody. But that's the model we have. The the the ownership model.
00:19:47
Dan King
Look at the there's players that we've signed recently. They're young. They are players to fill in if somebody goes. Let's say Kirk has goes. They've already got Julian Soller, which is a part of their plan.
00:19:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
so yeah
00:19:59
Dan King
They've also got James Hill. They've also probably got Lewis Cook or Dango who can play left back. So yeah.
00:20:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
did go my god from left wing to left back to left midfielder and then a striker then boom hat trick come on man you gotta love dango goal against Southampton proper power header
00:20:05
Dan King
They're not silly.
00:20:12
Dan King
yeah ah what What an athletic player. His first goal, I've been watching him for a few weeks now and thinking, gosh, he's got a massive leap. Power header.
00:20:26
Dan King
But yeah, he's, well, I think he's in the team as well as a striker to defend, which sounds backwards, but on the corners, he's always one of the people at the front post to clear as well.
00:20:37
Dan King
So yeah, I, I was surprised is times in the year where we had a player called Kiefer Moore and we get taken off and Dango would come on to defend the corners.
00:20:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah,
00:20:48
Dan King
And now I'm starting to see why, because his aerial ability is just phenomenal.
00:20:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah he can jump a lot and and saying that he's defending right I think because the way that Iraola plays him, I think he plays him as a false nine rather than the proper striker. ah Because don't forget that that you go Semenyo cutting inside um all the time. So I think that actually what happens, Semenyo and Clivett are the ones to cut inside and become strikers when we're attacking, ah because he's he's going to come and drop in the middle, right?
00:21:17
Dan King
Mm hmm. Yeah, I would say, well, you've also got Bruxy there. So on a corner, it's really always interesting to watch our corner set up. It's Clive, Clive, it stays. because I don't know who's quicker, but Clive is the man who stays up there. Um, against Southampton, they must admit Dango struggled second half because, uh, the, the defenders sent back for Southampton, pressed him really hot tight and he was having his back to go. Couldn't get a flick on, but he was playing last man.
00:21:47
Dan King
I have seen previous games where he would drop in, but he had a clear instruction to stretch the play. um Yeah, Clive it though. Let's go back to Clive. Let's talk about Clive it. Clive it didn't score yesterday.
00:22:02
Dan King
ah
00:22:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
Obviously, he was pushing hard.
00:22:04
Dan King
He was pushing it out a bit. Even when you're in school, you watch the rest of the team and think, God, that's great tracking back. You saw it from him. You saw it from, well, we know k Christie Christie. So if you haven't watched match today, they're praising Ryan Christie again about his tracking back and just in it i unbelievable.
00:22:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, Christi. The guy with three lungs, I know.
00:22:24
Dan King
And then, um, who else was I really, really impressed with, uh, in their tracking of Lewis cook, but the start patterns.
00:22:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, no, Adams, Adams, Adams, I think, I think adam Adams, yeah, it's like, you know, maybe people think he doesn't contribute a lot.
00:22:34
Dan King
out of
00:22:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
But when I saw the stats on the halftime, right, Ryan Christie already covered like six kilometers in in the in the first half, like that's mad. And if you divide that, that means that every nine minutes he would run a kilometer.
00:22:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
You know, it's it's it's crazy. It's crazy. It's crazy. Right. ah Time for another quick break. um Love talking to you, Dan, right? um And we'll definitely be back after after the break to talk a bit more about what do we expect from Bulmat in the next few games?
00:23:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
Who are we yet to play? And how much we can get out of those games?
00:23:13
Dan King
Mm hmm.
00:23:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
Stay tuned.

European Competition Prospects

00:24:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
And we are back to talk about how the Cherries managed to keep their European aspirations. And the yeah, just just to make sure that everyone has their passports ready to travel. This autumn and next year. Right. So Dan, where do we stand? What do you think Bulmuth will do until the end of the season? Why do you think we'll we'll finish?
00:24:34
Dan King
Well, did you, I don't realize, some of you, they're telling me yesterday, there could be a seven Champions League places. Wow.
00:24:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
Last year, eight of the teams went to play European competition, so not all of them Champions League, but eight spots, eight first spots.
00:24:47
Dan King
then
00:24:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
So even if we don't get champions, even if we get another European competition, it's still a big achievement, no?
00:24:53
Dan King
Massive achievement, but I wasn't even realizing that, let's say Newcastle don't finish in the top and they win the Carabao Cup. Aston Villa win the Champions League. Man United win the Super League. they
00:25:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
We might win the cup, hey?
00:25:04
Dan King
Well, we might win the f FA Cup as well, so yeah, either way, a European, let's be, okay, let's go be a bit more realistic, like, I'd take any European um football.
00:25:15
Dan King
and We're talking about Serbia for an away day, but I'll probably look at, you are right, there's probably some other lovely places I'd like to go.
00:25:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, like ah yeah yeah yeah we we can do better than serving, right?
00:25:28
Dan King
We can, we can. It's always an adventure, isn't it? But yeah, I would take any European football realistically. I think most Bournemouth fans would take a Europa conference and that would be a really good season.
00:25:42
Dan King
um
00:25:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, because we will get to play with with sort of same level of, of you know, same level teams.
00:25:43
Dan King
whenever
00:25:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
And I think maybe we will be able to even do something rather than jump straight into the Champions League. I mean, you never know, because we've done loads already. We've beaten City, we've beaten Arsenal, we've beaten United, we're going to beat them twice.
00:26:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
um And it's it's it's like, you know, it's it's just a dream. What does scare me though, right, in the next few games, who are we playing? and um I think we're going to be, because obviously we've got the next three games, we're we're playing Wolves twice.
00:26:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
One of them is e FA Cup in the first of March.
00:26:17
Dan King
but
00:26:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah So our next home game is against Wolves, which I believe we will win, but then away...
00:26:24
Dan King
They play pretty well against Liverpool.
00:26:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
me Say again?
00:26:26
Dan King
Always be wary. I said they play pretty well against Liverpool.
00:26:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
They did. they they If Kunia left the team, they would have been gone. They would have been relegated.
00:26:36
Dan King
I was hoping he'd be injured.
00:26:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
And Kunia is the only...
00:26:38
Dan King
I was hoping to be injured but he isn't.
00:26:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
You never know. There are still a few trainings till the end of the week. um we might send we we We might send someone in, right?
00:26:44
Dan King
Sabotage. yeah
00:26:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah But the one that really scares me is Brighton away, because obviously, Bournemouth does have a bad record against Brighton, and ah last time, yeah, it wasn't that great, was it?
00:26:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
um
00:27:00
Dan King
They just played us. they they The one team, at when I see them at home, just play us out in the park, actually, they're phenomenal against us.
00:27:09
Dan King
I don't know what. we I think that's the one game I can think about a roller being tactically outdone and by their manager. um Going back to the walls, I sarcastically said we've got to, but I feel confident too.
00:27:23
Dan King
Do you think we're going to win both games?
00:27:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
If we could have won against Everton three games, right?
00:27:26
Dan King
Both?
00:27:29
Dan King
Yeah.
00:27:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
Because we drew with Wolves, right? Away.
00:27:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
It was 2-2, I think.
00:27:34
Dan King
Yeah.
00:27:35
Dan King
I can't remember.
00:27:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
Was it 2-2? Yeah, but I think it was a draw. So obviously, because we are flying now. Literally, we are flying. And this is not the time to lose. If we are flying like this, we were that good with eight players injured, right? We've got two back now. We've got Sinisterra, and we've got Alex Scott back, right? So that gives us even more chance, even sort of like bigger squad depth.
00:28:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Cap. I think the Cup will end on penalties. I don't know why. i have I have a feeling, because we're playing at home, we're going to get the most for our money. right so were We're really going to watch a lot of football. ah But home win, obviously, we're going to do another episode for all the lessons. We're going to do another episode, which is going to be a pretty much review ah with Wolves by the end of um this week. well ah so um We will talk a bit more about the Wolves game um in that episode, but I think if if we if we manage to beat Brighton away, that will be our cut-off point and that will be the game that will take us to Europe.
00:28:45
Dan King
I agree, but we we still got quite an easier run in than other teams. The only difficult team that we have, okay, I can understand about Brighton.
00:28:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
Arsenal away, City away.
00:28:53
Dan King
We've played, yeah, Arsenal way, City away.
00:28:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
city way
00:28:57
Dan King
and We've played Liverpool.
00:28:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
Cityway.
00:29:00
Dan King
We've played Newcastle. We've played Chelsea. We've got Ipswich to come. We've got Brentford to come.
00:29:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah Villa to come, United to come, and last game against Leicester.
00:29:09
Dan King
you United, nice easy one, that one.
00:29:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
I know, I know. But you don't even think like, oh, we were playing United.
00:29:13
Dan King
It's weird to say,
00:29:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah Yeah, an easy game, yeah.
00:29:17
Dan King
Yeah. it's It's just one of those, you when I speak about the dream world, this is where we are born with fans where Man United, I think they're 15, 20 points away from us, closer to relegation and where we are, our small little club with a big heart and we're going to Europe. The only annoying thing is they they could also be in Europe too. They might win their league, super league or whatever it is, but yeah, we're on it.
00:29:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's, you know, it's, it's maybe everything feels that way because just because we're such a small club. And, you know, even when we go, when we go towards the games and with why 11,300 seats in the stadium, everything feels so close. um And I've had the chance to talk ah to one of the FC Bournemouth players.
00:30:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
um in the last three weeks. So I met him twice and the I asked you about the opinion of how he feels, you know, when when he plays and all that.
00:30:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
And he's just, even when he used to play for a different club, I won't say who it is, but he used to play for Sheffield United. So you probably know, but and let's let's let's, yeah, let's let's let's leave the listeners to, you know, um have a think who who that might be.
00:30:28
Dan King
in your books.
00:30:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah But yeah, I mean, he said that it was so difficult when he used to play for Sheffield to come and play in Bournemouth because everything that the fans are so close the stadium is so small and you're really going to know how this stadium breathes to be able to play so what other clubs don't do and what BOMA does is that they let sometimes players train in the actual ground right so they don't only use the the training ground next to it they actually let them train in the ground so they can get used to the pitch which i find really fascinating um it will be interesting to see how the away fans will
00:31:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
We'll cope with our stadium ah when we play Europe, so people from abroad.
00:31:19
Dan King
There's a few rumors that it doesn't fit meet the standards at the moment. there's a you talk You have to have certain amount of hospitality, and we don't have that currently.
00:31:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
oh Don't tell me we're going to go to play in Southampton home games.
00:31:31
Dan King
and Wow, that's one of the rumors, but i don't I can't see the owners ever letting that happen.
00:31:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, something will be done.
00:31:36
Dan King
I think they could build us a they can build a stadium quickly. but some oh
00:31:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
Something will be done.
00:31:41
Dan King
yeah
00:31:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
Something will be done. And on that note, thank you so much for joining me down today. It's been a massive pleasure. And I hope ah me and the listeners will get to hear from you more in the future. I hope you enjoy it as well.
00:31:55
Dan King
Yeah, I loved it. And thanks to everyone listening and up the cherries on the way to Europe.
00:32:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
And up the cherries. Up the cherries on the way to Europe. Cheers, everybody.
