Welcome back to the Daily English Premier League podcast. I'm joined today with Louis to discuss the Mersey Psych Derby.
00:00:19
Louie Easton
Yes, thank you very much. It's been a while since we've been on Just Us 2. I mean, the last time I think we were on together is when you told me Bakayo Sakura is the best player in the Premier League.
00:00:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
I've thought about that since then.
00:00:29
Louie Easton
I haven't forgotten.
00:00:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:00:31
Louie Easton
yeah When he got injured.
00:00:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
I regret it partially.
00:00:34
Louie Easton
yeah well at the time he was very good but um i was very set on salah and still set on salah and van dyke is the two best in the premier league right now um but you know you're all is forgiven um especially since his unfortunate injury you know you can't help that but he's a great player anyway
00:00:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:00:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:00:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:00:53
Louie Easton
We're here to talk about something else today and I would like to put this disclaimer out at the beginning ah that we will not be covering the Man City Real Madrid match or the uh what's the other one Exeter versus Forest yes
00:01:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
X to four forest. Forest win, by the way, most likely.
00:01:08
Louie Easton
They probably will.
00:01:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah
00:01:09
Louie Easton
If there is some sort of miracle where there's two miracles in Devon in the FA Cup fourth round, killing two giants of the f FA Cup, well, of the Premier League, then that would be unfortunate for us because we'd have to rush out another podcast tonight.
00:01:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, but looking ahead to the Merseyside Derby, it's the 120th Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park and the final one. And it's 41 wins each, 37 draws.
00:01:39
Louie Easton
Really?
00:01:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
So it's a grudge match that will be held forever to have those bragging rights.
00:01:45
Louie Easton
I actually didn't know that stat.
00:01:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
Whoever wins this game. Yeah.
00:01:48
Louie Easton
Oh, that is.
00:01:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
Are you looking forward in terms that you think you're pretty confident, basically?
00:01:51
Louie Easton
even even more now. I'm not that confident just because Everton have been good recently, especially with David Moyes coming back and just working some Moyes magic. um That's a club that I think is the Everton manager of the Premier League era. um You know, the whole Sean Dyche thing i I thought was quite unfortunate because he had a bit of a new manager bounce at the beginning, if you remember, but you know, his tactics just weren't working towards the end of Everton were too negative. And, you know, Moyes has found that balance where they can score goals now and also get clean sheets. And, you know, Jordan Pickford has been one of the goalkeepers of the season, I think, um you know, facing so many shots and getting as many clean sheets as he has had with such a poor defence. So, you know,
00:02:46
Louie Easton
it it will be ah it will be a tough one for Liverpool to go to. The Everton fans will be well up for it. It's on a midweek evening so you know it will have a very hostile atmosphere and also it's one of the most exciting Derby's in English football.
00:03:03
Louie Easton
and one of the most famous ones in the world. Two bitter rivals, separated by Stanley Park. And, you know, it will like you like you just put it with that stat right there. There's a lot riding on this one.
00:03:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
And I feel like the Merseyside Derby really lives at Goodison Park, at least from my neutral perspective. It's the Goodison games that make this Derby because they're always so tight. There's been six draws in the last 10 and most of those are 0-0. This game is always so close, so fighting, no matter how big the difference is between Liverpool and Everton. So now Everton have actually found a bit of form going into this game when in their last three Premier League games they obviously lost ah to Bournemouth at the weekend but in the second half of that game they were pretty strong I thought.
00:03:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
they They're coming into this game with far more confidence and they probably even were at the time it was called off because although they had beaten someone like I think it was Wolves they beat massively in a mid-week game and it felt like that might buoy their confidence going into that game before it got called off.
00:04:01
Louie Easton
Yeah.
00:04:14
Louie Easton
that was that was crazy yeah I mean absolutely it's it's what I feared because I was hoping you know as a Liverpool fan that Everton would go down
00:04:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think this is a This is a far better situation for them coming into this game.
00:04:25
Louie Easton
ah And it's it's been it's been a very mixed season for Everton. I mean, we were all making fun of Dominic Calvert-Lewin just for scoring or going for so many games without scoring. And, ah you know, Beto has suddenly found some confidence as well doing that LeBron James celebration in the last with his last goal and.
00:04:47
Louie Easton
ah ah They're actually, unfortunately, quite exciting to watch again. I remember when West Ham fans wanted David Moyes out, and I just thought, well, as West Ham, where do you expect to be in the table?
00:05:00
Louie Easton
They were, like, sort of in mid-table area. this The beginning of this season has been an awful one with Lopategi.
00:05:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:05:08
Louie Easton
egg ah going, not Lopategi, yeah, whatever, Lopategi going out and ah Potter coming in and, you know, they don't look any better.
00:05:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, a lot of tengi.
00:05:18
Louie Easton
So, barely anything.
00:05:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
They look marginally better, but yeah.
00:05:22
Louie Easton
I don't, they haven't been getting good results since his appointment.
00:05:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
no
00:05:27
Louie Easton
I know he needs time, but you've seen the difference that David Moyes has come in, has made since he came into Everton and, you know, he won the yeah conference league with West Ham as well so he has some recent success it's not a situation of you know football has evolved and managers haven't like I don't think Mourinho could do an incredible job in the Premier League anymore that's just my opinion know but David Moyes has been able to adapt with the times and so it it scares me unfortunately because I think Liverpool do unfortunately have a bad result in them
00:06:03
Louie Easton
at the moment, um we saw how much we struggled against Forest, a defensive side, and Everton are a defensive team. um And whenever they have the low block,
00:06:16
Louie Easton
We struggle, you know, that's what happened to get this Plymouth. yeah It just depends on the tactics and, you know, the strategy and ah a lot more than the players sometimes. And, you know, if, ah if a team can sit back and prevent goals from going in, then there's no reason why West Ham can't get a certain West Ham, there's no reason why Everton can't get a victory.
00:06:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, and but obviously last year they were saying when they beat you, like you lost the league to Goodison.
00:06:45
Louie Easton
Hmm.
00:06:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah goodison
00:06:47
Louie Easton
Lost the league at Goodison Park, yeah.
00:06:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, they're going to be hoping that they do that again and not only derail your momentum but give Arsenal a bit of momentum because then we don't we yeah we've had a week and a half off in Dubai.
00:07:03
Louie Easton
Yeah.
00:07:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
it could be a massive game and shift in that momentum because like you say you're coming off the Plymouth game and as much as it was essentially a B stroke C team it could probably halt momentum a bit and I don't think you wanted to win it and like just based on the subs really he had like Curtis Jones on the bench and decided to bring on more youngsters so but don't actually think I yeah fair enough
00:07:27
Louie Easton
Well, Curtis Jones was injured, um so that's the reason. But we just didn't bring enough players.
00:07:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
Bye.
00:07:33
Louie Easton
That's what it was. why we but We had no one on the bench that could play from the senior year level apart from Darwin Nunez. And at the end of the game, we just had three players in the same position. you know Nunez, Jota, and Kiesa all just sort of veering off into the left. We had Jarell Quansa bombing forward. We had Harvey Elliott basically playing at sensor back at the end of the game and doing hopeless balls forwards and you know the thing is you can't even blame that one on our youth players because they tried and their goal came from a penalty which was given away by a senior player in Harvey Elliott. I know he's like 21 but he's still a senior player um and it was a really slow frustrating watch and you know everyone having a go at Kieser after the game at least that man was trying but
00:08:22
Louie Easton
You know, Gomez going off after eight minutes really puts a, but put a halt to our proceedings and it was, it was terrible, but I think majority of those players went play. I don't think Jota will start. I think they'll probably start with Diaz and Gekpo.
00:08:38
Louie Easton
uh, Salah on the right, because he's rested, McAllister, Graham Burke, and probably Sobba Sly in the three in the middle. And that's the team that I think can give us the edge. If, if we're looking to players, those are the players to look for. And especially the form that Cody Gackapo has been in recently. I think he'll cause huge amounts of trouble for Everton. Um, but like I, like I mentioned before with the tactics, it really is tipped on a knife edge. I think this one.
00:09:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, and well before we continue to speak about this game, let's hear a little bit about Zencaster.
00:09:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
Oh, thank you. Pass, Louis. and
00:09:45
Louie Easton
yeah I hate hearing that now. but
00:09:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
I was looking back at Moises Derby games in his first in. How good would you like, without knowing, I imagine, how could you think he did in those first, not first in in the Mercier Derby?
00:10:07
Louie Easton
I remember a couple of ones going his way. I can't remember if he was in charge when Jaggy Elko got that last minute equalizer against us, so that ridiculous volley.
00:10:18
Louie Easton
Out of how many games? Does it say?
00:10:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
twenty two
00:10:24
Louie Easton
Out of 22 games, I think he probably won. I'm gonna go 10.
00:10:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
22 You won three Yeah, I was so surprised it feels like Obviously he was in charge in their most like impressive run He's got I think it was said like nine of their best 11 points finishes
00:10:34
Louie Easton
Oh, really? Oh, that's good. That's brilliant.
00:10:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's like, how did you only win 3?
00:10:48
Louie Easton
Wow.
00:10:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
There were 7 draws, 12 losses. It feels like you did far better than that.
00:10:54
Louie Easton
I mean, historically, we were the better team than Everton, but there was that Everton team that was sort of like late 2000s, early 2010s when they had some very good players.
00:10:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:11:04
Louie Easton
I think Mois was maybe just about to be on his way out at that point, but I mean, I can't remember the years that he joined and left, but I remember being disappointed a couple of times as a kid. um I mean, there are some very good memories from those Darby's. I remember but seeing Gerard score with a skinhead in one of them, ah smacking it and bottom left corner from outside the box. There was that amazing Darby at Goodison Park where Luis Suarez dived in front of him as well.
00:11:36
Louie Easton
Um, I remember absolutely hating Marouane Fellaini as a kid as well. Yeah, there, there was some, there was some good Derby moments, uh, that I can remember, but only winning three.
00:11:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
hey I hate...
00:11:48
Louie Easton
That's crazy.
00:11:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
hate Delafone, Morales era. They seem to always, always just score against us and be us.
00:11:52
Louie Easton
Oh, yeah. I hated Steven Pienaar as well. That's another one.
00:11:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
But... Yeah.
00:12:00
Louie Easton
And Jagellka, I hated just because of that goal he scored against Minhale. We were 1-0 up at Anfield and there was like 93, 94 minutes and he just smashed one. And it from outside the box, first time and it hit the bar and went in. Minhale couldn't get near it.
00:12:17
Louie Easton
ah Yeah, that there were there were some unbelievable moments, and and they always just broke into a fight as well. In recent years as well, do you remember the um the Roberto Firmino getting shoved by, what was his name, mate was it Mason Holgate who did it, I think?
00:12:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah yes i think it's base and hole here the arigee like winner stands out to me yeah
00:12:36
Louie Easton
ah So that that was quite something. And and there was the Mane last minute winner at bazi saw the Merseyside Derby at Goodison when a flare was thrown onto the pitch.
00:12:50
Louie Easton
and and the I'm just listing them. The early late winner when Klopp ran onto the pitch at the end. god and were There have been some unbelievable Merseyside Derbys down the years and it's a fixture that never fails to make people excited and this one will be... I think you have certain feelings before you go into a match where you know it feels like it's going to be a big game. This does feel like one of those ones.
00:13:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
Staying on that sort of like past Darby's, have you got one that stands out like almost the best and worst Darby's that you remember?
00:13:27
Louie Easton
Well, I think the worst one has to be that jaggy Elka goal. um If you're talking about just down the years, I think the best Merseyside Derby ever is when we beat them in the FA Cup final in 1989.
00:13:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:13:42
Louie Easton
Ian Rush and John Aldridge scored and it was in the same FA Cup season when Hillsborough happened. So it was a huge match for the city of Liverpool. It was at the Old Wembley and you know John Aldridge had sort of been on the fringes of the squads that all season, and but he couldn't really break into the team because Ian Rush was playing there.
00:14:02
Louie Easton
um John Aldridge started the game and he he scored early on and Ian Rush scored another goal. ah to And and that you know that's that goal has been in sort of Liverpool songs for years. Rush scored one, Rush scored two, Rush scored three, because he always scored against Everton. um But that one was absolutely massive. And know that was back when the FA Cup was the biggest game on TV.
00:14:30
Louie Easton
Uh, so it was a huge, huge match. And that was also when, uh, that was also post-Heisel. So there was no, um, European football at the time either. So that was the big, uh, cup competition in England and a Merseyside Derby and FA Cup final. It's always going to be big.
00:14:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Well, before we sort of round off and touch on sort of predictions, what you're expecting from this, let's hear about the Global Sports Podcast Network.
00:15:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
Well, we've touched on sort of legendary Merseyside Darby's. I'd be lying if I expected a legendary one. I think, like you were saying, it could be quite a monumental one. I think it could be a bit sort of trudgy, that's not a word, but sort of like almost, yeah, almost like boring, a bit but aggressive and I'm leaning towards a draw, like a sort of one-one, relatively boring draw.
00:15:52
Louie Easton
bragging rights.
00:15:58
Louie Easton
Yeah. Yeah. It's just ah the more you talk, the more memories are brought up of that one because it was the one we'll draw in Brendan Rodgers' last match in the Merseyside Derby and that was that that's when he got fired like the next day.
00:16:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:16:18
Louie Easton
um it It's going to be a lot, I think everyone's expecting it to be quite close just because of how unsuccessful ah matches of effective Liverpool's form recently and also how Everton have this new manager bounce and you know it's Moyse's first Merseyside Derby back as Everton manager. um i just I just think it all depends on what happens in the first half because I think if Liverpool score one
00:16:51
Louie Easton
that will shake, ever like ah early on, that will shake Everton. They might step out a bit more from defence and we'll be able to expose the space in behind. Also, Salah just always seems to score in big matches. So you can put one on him scoring again and probably running away with a goal and boot. However, I think the way that you spoke about this match maybe not being too ah big in the grand scheme of things, the exciting.
00:17:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
Excite in. Yeah.
00:17:19
Louie Easton
What I will say is if Everton do beat us and then that affects our form in the Premier League and Arsenal overtake us, then that will be looked at as one of the big matches in Premier League history, like in the same way that Liverpool beating Newcastle for Manchester United to win the Premier League in the 90s for three, that will be looked at as one of the big matches
00:17:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:17:42
Louie Easton
like that in that respect. So I'm hoping for a Liverpool win. I think we are favourites, but I think it will be cagey. i Like you mentioned, I don't think it'll be too exciting. I think Everton will be sitting back. Liverpool will be trying to pass them to death and it will be left late. And that's how I can see it because I'm just being a bit pessimistic at this point.
00:18:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah Are there any Everton player tricks like you're particularly scared of in this game? Because I look at a form of joy and watching him against Bournemouth at the weekend.
00:18:15
Louie Easton
Yeah.
00:18:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
He is so much better than Everton. like No disrespect to Everton fans, but he is so good.
00:18:22
Louie Easton
Yeah. Yeah, Imanan Jai is a terrific player. I think Beto just because of his size as well and his power and his speed and the form he's in, he scares me a little bit. um I think because it's a Merseyside Derby and because they're playing against Liverpool, we always seem to bring the best out of teams whenever we play them and Um, I think everyone will have a good day for Everton.
00:18:49
Louie Easton
It really does seem that way. Uh, Ila Manojai is a good one. I think Adrisa Gay is absolutely class, isn't he? Um, I know he's getting on a bit, but he, he's just so calm.
00:18:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:18:59
Louie Easton
He doesn't, he deals with pressure and pressing really well. Um, I, I think he's probably won. to look out for as well. they see They seem to overload the midfield quite a lot and get loads of players behind the ball. So I think, you know, anyone who's behind the ball and gets an interception or gets multiple interceptions is going to look good against us. I think it's it's a game where we have to be really precise going forward and really intricate with our passes. And um yeah, we'll see what happens.
00:19:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
And I mean, obviously slots being sort of lauded for his tactical changes, especially in the second half of games. It feels like that could be massively important in this game, because Everton under Moires, obviously it's only four games in the league, but they've started really well in the first half.
00:19:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
So if they come out, get a goal, and that will just sit for the rest of the game.
00:19:56
Louie Easton
Yeah, they gotta to go in 10 seconds.
00:19:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
I feel like it's a massive game for slot.
00:19:59
Louie Easton
They gotta go in 10 seconds the other day.
00:20:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:20:02
Louie Easton
um we We need to make sure that doesn't happen. ah I'll be interested to see how Connor Bradley plays as well, because Trent's back in training now, but he Bradley was rested against Plymouth, so he'll start against Everton, and I'll be really interested to see how much he pushes up. ah with the With the Spurs match, he got the assist for Sobelslei's goal, and he was basically playing at centre-forward at that play. so it It will be itll be a big match for him and also a huge shame for Trent to miss Merseyside Darby because he absolutely hates Everton. He grew up with loads of Everton Academy graduates in school so he naturally would love this match. and i don't I don't know what's going to happen but
00:20:52
Louie Easton
It will be interesting to see how much we struggle against Everton's defence. I think that is the big battle. I think it's sort of like in between, uh, Everton's penalty area and, you know, the beginning of their third, you know, where Sobo Sly pops up. It will be a proper battle.
00:21:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
and what do you expect the lineup then to just essentially be what it's been all season just with Bradley instead of Trent and sort of I imagine the front three of Salah, Diaz or Giotto and then Gappo
00:21:18
Louie Easton
I think, yeah.
00:21:24
Louie Easton
It will be Diaz because Jotza played the entire match against Plymouth and it's his first game back from injury so it would be stupid if we played him two matches in a row this close to each other. ah Diaz and Gekpo and Salah will start as a front three just because none of them travelled to Plymouth so they sort of got the they got the weekend off.
00:21:41
Louie Easton
um Soloslai will start because he didn't go to Plymouth. Same with Graeme Burke and Macalester. I think the rest of the team sort of makes itself. Bradley Robertson. ah I think Robertson has been good recently but he just has been so under the magnifying glass recently and he plays in a position that doesn't get very much recognition to the point where you don't really notice if he's had a good game or not, but I think he's been good.
00:22:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:22:05
Louie Easton
Alison Ingol, obviously, and Van Dyke Canate. I think that is, yeah, and as you mentioned, the sort of starting 11 that's happened all season, with the exception of Trent being out and Bradley being in.
00:22:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:22:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
And I imagine, in terms of Everton, it will probably be, as it was at the weekend there, Pickford, Obrin, Tarkovsky, Brantway, Micalenko, I think he is slightly injured, so he played
00:22:31
Louie Easton
Yeah, Mikolenko got...
00:22:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
He played young left back at the weekend. So be I think that's like the only position that will change.
00:22:35
Louie Easton
Yeah, he got taken off.
00:22:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
And then gay...
00:22:38
Louie Easton
I absolutely hate Ashley. um I hate him so much. Because he played for United and Everton, and he's a cocky so-and-so, so I naturally hate him for that.
00:22:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
I mean... Yeah.
00:22:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Then obviously gay, garner, decorian behind Beto. And then a giant Lindstrom on the wing. But they brought Alcarazón at the weekend, obviously only on loan.
00:23:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
And he had a pretty like nothing spell at Southampton, but came on, hit the post from a free kick pretty quickly. And they were really strong on that second half against Ballmer.
00:23:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
And it was honestly a miracle they didn't score.
00:23:13
Louie Easton
Yeah.
00:23:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
So it'll be interesting.
00:23:17
Louie Easton
Well, they scored right at the end, didn't they? 90th minute from Anjai. No, that was less than my mistake of mixing matches up in my head.
00:23:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, yeah.
00:23:26
Louie Easton
and Yeah. i
00:23:31
Louie Easton
i I don't watch a lot of Everton this season um just because you know watching Sean Dycheball for so long has kind of bored me of looking at their team um and since Moyes has come in I haven't really had much I've been so busy recently so I haven't been watching a ton of Everton but I look at the results and I look at the players of the play and just thinking well it just takes a few tinkers and suddenly they and I miss the f FA Cup match against Bournemouth and you know
00:24:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
I was watching primarily for Bournemouth, and then it was like, oh, ever Everton are quite good now, which is slightly concerning for us as well, because we already have issues against Everton.
00:24:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
And now it was bad enough against Deish. And we were good against Moyes at West Ham, but it was kind of concerning to see them actually look pretty promising going forward for once.
00:24:28
Louie Easton
It it scares me.
00:24:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
So, yeah.
00:24:30
Louie Easton
It does scare me. I just don't want Everton to be good.
00:24:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
This game's been...
00:24:34
Louie Easton
It's one of those

No, this game's been 0-0 more than any other game between any other Premier League team. I think it was 12 times. But I don't think it'll be 0-0 this time. I think we should go on to predictions, really.
00:24:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
I said 1-1 earlier, I think...
00:24:47
Louie Easton
okay
00:24:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think it'll be a bit like a counter-attacking and gi or Beto goal for Everton and like a Salah penalty, maybe, for Liverpool.
00:24:57
Louie Easton
yeah i just it's just the fact that it's that good as some park gives us a bit of a disadvantage because it's the last one there and the fans will be absolutely up for it so I think it's, I think it will be left late if Liverpool, good I mean, Liverpool are so good defensively with van Dyck there.
00:25:16
Louie Easton
And I just look at van Dyck in that defense and think, God, thank God. Thank God we've got him in the same way that Arsenal fans haven't looked at Saliba in recent years. Like, just want us, he's got to bail us out again.
00:25:28
Louie Easton
He's one of those.
00:25:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah I mean all ultimately you won't you only get to play the last game at Goodison once so obviously it's going to be a bigger deal for Everton because it's their home ground but I'm sure there'll be players in that Liverpool dressing room who have been there a long time and are like telling the people who don't care as much.
00:25:30
Louie Easton
um So I think, yeah, go on, sorry.
00:25:51
Louie Easton
and But you could say the same about Everton.
00:25:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think it's quite an yeah but I think you
00:25:55
Louie Easton
You know Seamus Coleman, he's still at the club and tea well he he he knows how big this match is ah because he's been there for years even back to when Moyes was in charge and Moyes as well and Everton managerial legends in his own right.
00:26:12
Louie Easton
He'll be really hoping for a result because can you imagine the sort of good press he'll get as the new manager if they can pull off a win in their last game at Goodison Park. I just think you look at the quality of the teams and you that automatically makes you think Liverpool should probably win this, you know top of the league ah with a decent size now and this is the game in a hand that we've been looking forward to for ages so I just think we have we have to win this one but I do think if we do win it it will be left late and
00:26:49
Louie Easton
I can't see there not being a controversial refereeing decision in this game as well. That's another one because the game will threaten to get out of hand.
00:26:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, that I mean not many pre-relate games go by without a controversial refereeing decision at the moment Yeah, I mean that the bragging rights I think makes it a much bigger deal will be interesting to see if that's played up more because I
00:27:01
Louie Easton
Yeah.
00:27:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
I haven't hadn't seen it until I was just looking to make notes for this podcast and like 41 winners each, like 120. Merseyside Derby at Goodson Park, everything on the line before going to Framing All Docks, whatever they're going to call the stadium.
00:27:30
Louie Easton
Yeah.
00:27:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
This is it is so so much bigger the more like you look into it and like I said, you only get to play this game once. like
00:27:39
Louie Easton
Yeah. ah let's Let's hope for a Liverpool win. I'm going to say 2-1, leave it right at the end. And yeah, I think Salah will score again. It's just the sort of game that's made for him. ah And he's the hungriest player in that Premier League team, and that in that Liverpool team at the moment. so yeah i'm i'm I'm nervous thinking about it. I'm like getting goosebumps thinking about how big this match is going to be. It's a cold night in Liverpool. Fans will be turning up drunk because they've got out of work. They've been able to get on the booze. It's an evening. ah it just it i can't I can't wait, I'm telling you. so um yeah Let's see what happens.
00:28:22
