Speaker: There's no right way to do it.

Speaker: Oh, we're going to get into it. What up, moms? I'm Whitney Williams, and I'm here with my best friend, Candice, and this is the Mom Group Chat Podcast. Hello. Dude, I was like, let's hit record. We're talking about a walla.

Speaker: Yes, I got a brand new one. it is so me. It is so my color pink. It is really cute. It's really cute. it um And I was telling Whitney before we pressed record or started to that Vinny has always been like a water bottle hater. He's like such a man. He's like, i don't want to carry around a water bottle, you know. But in Lake Tahoe, they do not sell water bottles. Like they do they don't sell plastic water bottles. They are very eco-friendly. Honestly, everyone should take note.

Speaker: It is a little annoying though. You know, I'm just being honest. And so we learned we've learned over traveling there that you pretty much have to bring a reus like a reusable water bottle with you or you're going to be thirsty.

Speaker: You're to thirsty girl. So this time he took one of my like yellow Oala bottles with us and it converted him.

Speaker: And now he, it's his. And so now I was down to one, which I like to rotate them so that I can like clean them, you know? Yeah. Anyways, this is so boring, but.

Speaker: We were walking into Target last weekend and O'Walla had like a table set up. Like they were there promoting. And so they had all of these like new O'Walla set up and they had stickers for the kids if they wanted to like decorate them which I was like, you're not putting a sticker on my new O'Walla bottle. But I did let them take home a pack of stickers for them to like put on paper or whatever. Yeah. But they were all 25% off because they're like little special. So it's very beautiful. is an old ad that we're not being paid for. but um

Speaker: Well, I was going to say, I've kind of forgot that Colorado is, or not Colorado, but just like out West is kind of weird about water. And I remember being in Breckenridge, like looking high and low after skiing, like i need water. And they only had it in like aluminum or something. And I thought how interesting yeah or like water or like ah paper box, yeah like water. Yeah. And even that stuff, like you can find it, but it's not like as readily available as you think it would be. Like it's, it's hard to find, like you have to have a reusable water bottle if you're, if you're, like Like if you're headed to Lake Tahoe or out west, bring a reusable water bottle. I promise you will not regret it.

Speaker: I've learned in my like old age that I'm like very, very particular about like my utensils and like drinkware. I- Vinny are the same. Vinny is very particular. I'm so particular. Like I don't drink water from a straw.

Speaker: Like that's my issue with a wallah. Yes. Okay. Okay. I don't like water from a straw. I only drink it out of a cup. So I have to use like the yeti um cup because it just has a lid on it, almost like a coffee cup would. Right.

Speaker: I don't. I can't. Like something about it i don't like. It's so interesting. But i'm I'm that way, which I think a lot of um women are now that I've seen, is about the wine glasses you get at a restaurant. If like you order a white wine and it comes in a thick wine glass...

Speaker: my day's ruined. no same. It's like, have you ever been to a i don't want to say a cheap hotel bar, but you know, the hotel bar I'm talking about, like you go down to the bar at like a hotel. That's like not a nice, a super nice hotel. And the wine glasses you get are like Olive Garden, chunky goblets. Yeah. Yeah. Like, And like literally immediately I don't want it. I'm like, I'd rather drink a can of beer than then your chunky goblet wine glass.

Speaker: And like not to put my parents' house on blast, but I'm like, can you please buy new ones at this point? like And she's like, you are just so finicky. And I'm like, your wine glass feels like I'm drinking a lot of wine glass. Like a fishbowl. Like, please get this out of here. Like, I can't. And, but they only drink red wine, which is like different.

Speaker: That's fine. I know have been I have been on a white wine kick recently. I'm a white wine kick. Do you know, I feel like for a while I came on this pod and I was like talking shit about how I can't drink wine anymore and blah, blah, blah. No, it's like, bitch, I'm back. Bitch, I'm back. I don't know. I am like, I love Sancerre so much. And I have just, you know, we've been spending a lot of time at the Yacht Club.

Speaker: And they have a Sancerre there that like me and the Sancerre are... we are one. Sincerely. Together. Sincerely, sincere. And I, so I am like back on it. Like right now it is early in the morning and I'm like, my mouth's watering. I could drink a glass of sincere. It's so funny you say that because like my friends ordered that at dinner and I don't know if I've drank that a lot. Chris would probably be like, Whitney, yes you have. But I, I'm just like so set in my ways of drinking the same old, same old thing. But they ordered that on our trip in Denver and

Speaker: i was like, oh, and it was really good. It's so good. i love it. It's like not really, it's like dry, but not like so dry. It's like, it's so good. There's also a creator that I have now fallen in love with. She's new to me. Maybe she's been around for a while, but she's like, oh God, I'm going to butcher it. But she, it's like, she's a wine creator, but she's like young and one of the girlies. She's like in her twenties, it seems to me. Cool. I think. And she does these really educational videos with a whiteboard about different types of wine and who would like them and what it's like.

Speaker: I'll post whenever I yeah post this episode. She is such a good follow. And she has me like writing down... wines that I want to try that I wouldn't normally buy. And I'm like, small gay yeah, she must either. She's a sommelier she's maybe she's studying for it. I'm I need to dig a little deeper, but she's like been a recent favorite follow of mine. i don't know. I'm just back to being a wino is really what I'm saying. I'm like so jealous because I feel like recently we've been drinking everything else, but wine is like my favorite. And I'm like, I just really want that. But if you're like at the pool day drinking, you're drinking a high noon. And I'm like, yeah, I really just want wine. But OK, yeah, it's a high noon time. yeah And then on my trip, everyone was like, let's have cocktails. I'm like, OK, like, I guess I'll have.

Speaker: a delicious Cosmo. Oh, darn. But it's like, and then when I got home, they made um Hugo Spritz out of the Ninja. I love a Hugo Spritz.

Speaker: It was so good, but you know, it's like, so but I just, I just want wine Why do y'all keep making me have these? They like, they're twisting my arm, but I just want wine and, but I need a break. Holy moly. I was in Denver all last week. I, i cannot drink any more.

Speaker: I can't. I'm done. Yeah. yeah Yeah. I have to say, and I know you and I were just texting. I've, I'm just feeling a little fluffier than normal. Um, I've definitely put on some LBs. It's fine. I'm not spiraling about it. Okay. But I was trying to think of like, how did I get here? What happened? And the truth is, is that I have been drinking a lot recently, like way more than I do normally. Vinny and I,

Speaker: Like, it's funny. Like, we are drinkers, but we're also, like, not. We don't really drink the week. Yeah, would say you don't much. Yeah, like, I'm actually not. Like, I love a party. And, like, I will drink if I'm partying. But, like, I'm not, like, an avid weekly drinker, I would say.

Speaker: we've been drinking, not like at home really, but we've just had a lot of dinners and like things happening and like go when whenever we go to the pool, we get drinks. It's like, oh there's been a lot, there's a lot of drinking happening and I'm like, I need to cut it back while also I leave for a bachelorette party on Thursday. So like,

Speaker: ah i Never mind. my hosted whenever live Never mind. um yeah i think of that video that ah is their name. Alana from Alania.

Speaker: She's the rugby player. What's her name? ena mar Okay. Did you see that video that she posted? It was like she gained weight and she's like, oh, well, I think I posted it. yeah Yeah. She's like, I'm having, I'm making these memories like, darn, wish I didn't eat that with my friends. And oh, I had a cake because it was someone's birthday. Shit. Like,

Speaker: And it's like, that's just what summer is. like yeah everyone I don't know. I always gain weight in the summer because I'm just like having so much fun. And we literally did an episode where we were at the we were riding the wave. We're cresting. We're cresting.

Speaker: We are. We are. And that's okay because I knew that would happen because of what I've been doing. And I was just thinking like school starts back in like two weeks. know. It's crazy.

Speaker: I'm like, ah well, it's like Graydon and Margo's last summer camp week. They do like eight weeks of like every week is a different theme. And it's the last week of that. And it's the last week of water days. And I'm like, oh, man, that went by really fast. Summer's so fast.

Speaker: It really is. It's crazy. It's our last one before. Well, not really. Well, I guess last one before like kindergarten. I know. i feel like I have like now that we've started to record just now, like I feel like all of a sudden I have so much to tell you. Like I feel like there's so much I want to say. Like I want to touch on the bachelorette party I'm going on this week and like that and like everything there.

Speaker: I feel like I do want to talk a little bit about back to school and everything. Me too. Because I did something crazy today. hu okay well you go first it's not crazy i lit a fall candle whitney

Speaker: as said bitch let's go let's go it's school time school equals fall equals october equals halloween It is July 27th. It's Halloween.

Speaker: We've talked about this. We have different fall timelines. Like for me, fall is not addressed until after Labor Day. Like that's my rule. No. so September six or whatever that is.

Speaker: I'm like, I'm winding down into fall. Okay. Okay. You do you, boo-boo. You do That's crazy.

Speaker: It's, I mean, and like, I don't know. I i so like all the pumpkin stuff decorations are coming out and i lit a candle I'm about to put the YouTube ambiance on my TV. You know? You know what I'm talking about? Oh, I know what you're talking about.

Speaker: With that light jazz. who I know. i love and I love an ambiance YouTube. I'm still on like, I'll do like beach ambiance YouTube though. Do you ever do that? no It's like Beach Cafe and there's like the waves are crashing and it's like it's like jazz steel drums. I was about to say, I'm imagining steel drums. it's like It's so good.

Speaker: And all of a sudden I'm getting off the Carnival cruise ship. Yeah, no, and I just turn the fan on high and I pretend like it's the salt breeze, you know? Oh my God. It's about the extent of the vacation I can afford these days. So that's like what I'm doing. I'm pretty I would have the opposite effect of making me want to work. I'd be like, going to walk outside and hang out by my pool because of steel drums. um I turn it on. It makes me like concentrate a little better. Yeah. or No, it does. It does for sure. that' Well, we took a little summer breaky from recording and mom group chat.

Speaker: I mean, we're still always yapping in the background, obviously, but we took a little break. So this is our first episode after like a true, actually probably our first two week hiatus. I don't think we've ever taken two weeks off.

Speaker: No, I mean, just because pregnancies and stuff. So I felt like it was deserved. We like, yeah, I mean, I had work stuff and you're about to go on vacation. Like we've had lots of vacations like trickled in, but usually we both get a maternity leave. So it was like, yeah, we deserve a little too weak even though I mean this is like the best part of my week talking to you but I know like I'm sitting here bursting with joy that we're back so neither here or there we deserved it yeah and I just sitting here I'm like we are so back We are so – feel a spark. Like I said this morning to you, like I'm back. My spark is back. I was in a little bit of a – was opposite. I was like – Yeah. But talking you always makes me feel better. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker: So anything to update from our like two week hiatus and like our little break? I have like so many things to talk about too, but I want you to tell me, I mean, I did go to Denver for work and I don't think I told you this.

Speaker: Only this would happen to me. We went for a training, right? My whole marketing group, we went for this like sales training, but it was also about like our product, yada, yada, whatever, sent song and dance. And,

Speaker: The second day that we're there, I go to sit down and my bra snaps off like the hook snapped off.

Speaker: ah in Like in the middle of your training? In the middle of class. I went i like was like turned around talking to someone and I turn and it snapped. And I just feel my my bra roll. wide open in the back and I like felt around and it it literally like it was almost like it was glued on. I did buy this bra from like TikTok so that's that's on me that's on me. It wasn't sewn on, it was glued on and my big back from a week of eating and drinking snapped my bra and

Speaker: So I literally look at the person sitting next to me. i was like, I pulled it because I could pull the whatever the um clasp that came off. And I was like, look at what just fucking happened to me. And I had to go brawless the rest of the day in class with men and women around. And i was like, my cones are out. Literally like.

Speaker: Thank God my hair's long right now. Imagine you. Okay. I was literally going to say like this, like my experience, if that were to happen to me is so different probably from your experience for a lot of reasons. Okay. First of all, my tits are huge as we've discussed at length. And like me without a bra is like, it's not, it's not like, like all these girls who are like, Oh, I'm not even wearing a bra right now. I'm like,

Speaker: Like that, like that scenario is not even in my vocabulary. Like it's impossible. If I walk out without a bra, like you're going know people are, so people are staring. Okay. yeah It's bad. It's like, and like how low they hang these days. It is like, who is this giant orangutan woman walking around? Like it just can't, it can't happen like that. So that's the first thing. And then the fact that your hair is long, like, thank God.

Speaker: Yeah. The other thing I was going to say is like, what were your outfits like? Because I think also something that is the difference between me and you is that a lot of my, like I feel almost, yeah. Like I feel almost like I look better in things that are more form fitting. And like, I'm thinking about me being at a work conference, like I'm wearing a bodysuit and dress pants and like maybe a sweater. Like, like what were you wearing?

Speaker: This is where it worked out for me. Okay. Okay. This is where I was wearing it. it's you You might have this. It's like that. It's like a short sleeve sweater. It's from free people and it has like this little pocket, but it's knit and I was wearing it with jeans. So it was thick. So I was like, thank God. Like if not, I would probably, if it was, if it was something form fitting, I would have gone and gotten a bra because I did have a strapless, but yeah.

Speaker: I just was like, I'm going to risk it. And my way of feeling better about what happened was telling everyone that it happened. Just in case anyone noticed. I'm like i'm like like, just so everyone knows, tits out right now.

Speaker: If you see areola, that's why. you're the boys And so I just like told everyone. And then um obviously not the boys, but like the girls. oh Sorry, that's just the song.

Speaker: Oh, yeah, no. But, like, then my coworkers were hardcore trolling me. Like, I was talking to my boss and they, like, took a picture of it and they're like, look at Whitney talking to her our boss, tits out. Like, all this stuff.

Speaker: And then we went into this... like in the lab right and the guy's talking he stands next to me the guy's talking and so everyone's looking at me and I'm just like trying to cover and I'm just like and then my friend drops her water bottle and it hits my foot and they someone else goes why don't we just to announce to everyone that your boobs are around <unk>m just like get me out of here it was um It was freeing. i felt like I was in the 70s, but at the same time, this would happen to me.

Speaker: You know? Yeah, that's crazy. I'm so sorry that happened to you. But I would have done the exact same thing. I'm kind of the kind of person who, like, you know this. Like, I don't really get, like, embarrassed that much. No, I wasn't embarrassed. And for me, it's more embarrassing to not talk about it and hide it. I'd rather just be like, listen up, everyone. They're hanging. Let's all talk about it and address it, and, like, we'll all move on. Okay? I feel like that's like both of our strengths is like, i don't get embarrassed. Like I ever. Which is why we have this podcast. Because if we, if we were on here, not, to not mentioning at all.

Speaker: like our show would be so boring you know I never get embarrassed anymore I'm just like whatever i don't care but it was so funny um yeah but otherwise trip was good um it was so fun hanging out with all my co-workers and bonding and what all what all have you playing cards working etc but yeah I want to hear about where you're going oh Oh, okay. So this weekend is my sister-in-law's bachelorette party. and you guys, I've talked about this before, so I'm like not going to like beat a dead horse, even though I love to do that. We, you know, like I am the best person to invite on a bachelorette because I'm going to fucking bring it.

Speaker: I did not know that was where this was going. Like literally, I should write that on my resume. Like best person to invite and ah add up to a bachelorette. Okay. So like god we're leading up to this. We leave Thursday and it is my sister-in-law. So I like, I'm trying to like, you know, help out. Like I am driving four other girls to, um, to the bachelorette. Also, these people are younger than me, obviously. Like I'm six, seven years ahead of them in life. I'm, I'm, I'm the mom with two kids. Okay.

Speaker: But it made me feel so good because at her engagement party, of course, all of her little friends were there and they heard I was coming. And they were all like fighting over who was going to ride with me because they knew I'd be the fun one. And was like...

Speaker: So, you know, that just like filled my little ego up so much. I'm like, hell yeah, let's fucking go. And um anyways, so that happened. And then this week leading up, like I feel like i'm maybe I'm overbearing to the other girls who are like planning, but I just like, this is going to sound crazy, but like maybe I just, I have so much experience going to bachelor parties and I'm sure these girls do too. So I'm probably just delusional. But I'm like texting them. I'm like, do we need to like i have a Costco membership. Should we go? Should you want me to stop at Costco? Because I'm also driving. I'm one of the ones driving. so I'm like, oh, I can go to Costco like I'll get alcohol and like, you know, blah, blah, blah. And, um, and it's also funny. i don't know if I would like, want to I get Vinny's other sister, Olivia, like doesn't drink very much, you know? And so I'm talking to her about like how much alcohol we need.

Speaker: She's like, like, she's not, she's not there with me. You know what i mean? And so I feel like an alcoholic, like talk and they're, they're probably like this mom of two is fucking wild because she's like, I'm like, we need 40 cases. Also, hold on. There's 17 of us going.

Speaker: That's all. Whoa. very large group. Okay. And our house is great. Our house sleeps 22 people. Like we are plenty of room for everyone, all of that. But I'm more so like, do you know how many high noons 20 or 17 people can go through? when I was going to say, like, we didn't drink anything else other than high noons. And we went through it so quickly that we went, i mean, we, we might've had like two bottles of wine. The rest was like high noon.

Speaker: Yeah. that was it And I know that we're going to be at the pool at our house. Like, I just know it's, we're going to go through it. And it also could just be the mom like planner in me, you know, like I, it's just like, I, I want to help out. I want to shop. I want to make sure we have everything we need. I'm like, do you need me to bring a speaker? Do you need me to bring, like, I have pool floats. Do you want me to bring them? Like, blah, blah, blah. Um, and I'm just, ah the other thing I was going to say about this bachelorette party is like,

Speaker: I just feel like the past couple months have been a little heavy for me. Like, and I've been in a place of like, i think I need some fun. And so this will be good.

Speaker: Yes, it's like much needed and need, needed this, you know, that's like what I just keep saying in my head. But I'm also nervous for like first day syndrome and like embarrassing myself because I have built up excitement, which usually ends in embarrassment. you know just let it rip you know that's why we like you because you go hard that first night you're gonna throw up probably not like first of all i need to say not like off uh which the word i'm looking for I don't throw up like on anyone or it's like will excuse myself. No one said on anyone. No, I know. But I feel like sometimes if you're like, oh, you're the girl that throws up. It's like, do you know what I mean? No, that's not me. I will either throw up the next morning or I will throw up. I will excuse myself and puke and rally. That's what mean.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: dude i don't know that was not my responsibility and i'm very happy about like i am out on that part yeah i will say the not to like give all the details but we um the first night we are staying in because people are arriving kind of yeah and so we are ordering in and doing like a linundgerie shower And then the next day we have like a cabana set up for a beach day. So we'll be like out at the beach and that I think is like sandwiches and you know, whatever.

Speaker: um But Friday night we're going to that place that you went to. Is it like Kuchina or something? That's where the club is. Yeah. So we're doing dinner. It's a dinner place too though, right? Yeah. And then it turns into a club after like 10.30. that's what we're doing. We're doing dinner and dancing for place. It was fun. that place oh I'm excited. I'm excited shake my ass. It was really fun.

Speaker: There was a DJ. I was like, whoop! yeah Yeah, that'll be me. I don't have hair to whip around, so I'll need to find a new move. but Don't do it, Candice. Don't do it. I needed a neck brace.

Speaker: Yeah. But anyways, I'm just so excited. um so excited for you to go there. was fun. I really liked going there. And then the next day is like Palm Beach brunch somewhere. I can't remember where. And then like shopping, walk around, do the things. At the Colonial?

Speaker: Here, I can look it up. I bet you are because I think you said you texted me when I posted the picture there and you're like, that's where Olivia said we're going.

Speaker: so Oh, okay. Okay. Here.

Speaker: So fun. I really loved it there and i would 100% go back. So if you ever want to drive there and meet me again, let's do it. Oh, there is a Pilates class Friday morning.

Speaker: Forgot about that part. Hey, that's where you can sleep in. Oh, I have this all wrong. I have, we have, okay. for I just told an itinerary that was completely wrong. It's with the one you would have done. It's honestly good that I'm looking at this because everything I was saying was incorrect. um Okay, we are doing the beach day. And then we have dinner at Pizza Alfresco.

Speaker: Don't know what that is. And then it says drinks and dancing. But I think someone had told me about Kuchina. Me? Me? Yeah, but I think someone in the Bachelorette had said that we were going to go there. This says brunch at Swifties. Yeah, that's the Colonial.

Speaker: Okay, yeah, yeah. Brunch at Swifties, shopping on Worth Avenue, pool day at the house, private chef, Saturday night. Okay. And then we check out on Sunday. That hotel is to die for. I'll never get over I'll never get over it.

Speaker: Yeah. I'm super excited. Are y'all going to the breakers? I thought you wanted to go there. I mean, I've just wanted to go there, like, personally, you know? But, no, we're not going there this time, I don't think.

Speaker: It was cool. We only went for a little bit. Yeah. I'm very excited. And I need to also, like, another thing on my to-do list this week is, like, I need to shop. Like, I need to do some pre preparatory shopping for this trip. Did you get your shiny dress? Yeah.

Speaker: I didn't. I ordered something on Amazon that I kind of am hoping. hoping um Hurry. And I'm going to self-tan myself like you've never seen before.

Speaker: Like me. Yeah. Like I want to be Whitney Black when I go on this trip. It was shocking. I'm to bring picture of you to my spray tan lady and be like, give me the Whitney. Yeah. Wow. I was so tan. i should do that again. That was fun. Yeah. Yeah. Everyone's like, Jesus. Yes.

Speaker: yeah I'm very, very excited. Very excited for a hangover ride back to Tampa on Sunday. a The worst feeling. It's fine. Yeah, you're right. and Who cares? Yeah. Who cares? You know? um But yeah. What else? I don't even know. i feel like a big thing for you that ah you could talk about is like Alice's going back to school.

Speaker: Yeah. We are in full back to school mode. um She starts school August. I mean, I don't know that i need to necessarily say the date, but she starts school very soon in the next couple of weeks. It is like true big girl school for her. We had to get uniforms, which we got for her, which are so cute. Like they're so cute. And I was kind of nervous about them because Alice is very, she's a particular queen. Yeah.

Speaker: what she wears and how clothes feel she's like a little weird about that but she was so excited about the uniforms and like loved all of them so i'm really excited for her and just like excited i will say like last week we got our classroom assignments for her new school And then it was like influx of info, the amount of information they sent out in one day. it was so overwhelming. I was texting Vinny like I'm so overstimulated and I'm literally just sitting here at my computer. It was just like and I get that the reason they do that is to field frequently asked questions and.

Speaker: We are starting like a true school that she will be at probably until eighth grade. So it's like they're just trying to like get us acclimated with like the school. um But holy moly, I was overwhelmed. And honestly, I told Vinny, I was like, I just have to put this away right now. Like, I cannot even look at all of this. I will have to revisit, in a you know.

Speaker: um, another time, but, um, I'm so excited. I'm really excited too, because Evie is starting school full-time as well. This will be her first time in full-time school. So this will be the first time since having kids that I will drop them both off somewhere and I will have like full-time care. I mean, my mom is full-time care right now. How's she feeling?

Speaker: Oh, my mom is so, my mom's more emotional than me. I'm counting down the days and my mom is like, I can't believe that you're doing this to me as if it's like a personal attack. Like, sorry, they have to learn. Yeah. Like, sorry, they got to grow up. um So she's emotional about it. And I, it's funny, like, I'm not emotional about it at all. Like, I genuinely am so excited. I'm excited for this new chapter. Like, even,

Speaker: I think it helps when they're already in a program. like it does it's like its just an easy transition, even if it is a new school. school Yeah. And I think because Evie did two weeks of summer camp this summer, like that was so easy for her. And like she loved it so much. So I know that Evie will thrive. you know um I'm just so excited. I'm definitely in full back-to-school prep mode. I'm ordering... Everything I need. Like we have a school supply list. It's like the full. Yeah.

Speaker: The full. I saw that Target had set up like the back to school section. and I was like, fun. yeah My Lisa Frank folders. Something that my friend who her. She's one of them that has like the older kids. So he's going to kindergarten.

Speaker: And they got invited to a class like meet up. Like a pool party for. Yeah. We have the three of them scheduled already. thought that was so nice. Like, we have how cute is that? Like a about a barbecue just to meet classmates already. i was like, that is cute.

Speaker: Yeah. So we have, um, an ice cream social tomorrow night at five 30 at like a local ice cream place where for all the pre-K families. And so we're going to that. And then there's another play date this Saturday before,

Speaker: um before school starts. And that's more like a barbecue type thing. Um, is the school doing it? No, it's like hosted by okay the parents of like, so they, I will say like this, like props to the school for doing this. I think that's such a good idea. So they have like a group of parents who are like second or third time parents at the school that like they have older kids who have already gone through it. And those are basically like the mentor families for everyone so that if anyone has questions, you can go and ask them. And they kind of like host everything for everyone. And um I think that's so nice. Like I don't have to reach out. Yeah. Like I don't have to reach out to the office or anything like I have. And they've been so nice.

Speaker: gracious and nice. Like text me if you have any questions. Like they told me which shirts to order. So I don't buy them from the uniform store. Cause they're most, they're more expensive there. Like they've just already been so nice. So I'm excited. I'm really excited. And I was like, wow, school's so different now. Like for them to think let's get ahead and everyone meet your class is like a new kindergartner or whatever. i was just like, Wow, that is like really freaking cute. Should I do it next year?

Speaker: It is crazy because these are the kids that they will most likely be with like for a long time. At least five years. Yeah, like if you're in daycare or like some sort of like twos program, those classes change. Obviously, you know, there's like an end date to those. But I feel like when you get into more like elementary type school, you those are like these are the families that you're going to be canoodling with every week the kids that you're going to be your kids like best friends and of course you'll always stay close with like you know family friends and all of that but it is kind of like okay like we need to like get our feet wet with these new families and get to know them and like yeah it's just and i know we're the ones getting separated from everyone else everyone else is going to the same school

Speaker: Really? Does that mean you're

Speaker: Yes and no. Like, I kind of thrive on meeting new people. especially And i I think it's good for him. Like, I'm like, we'll be friends with them for a long time. I'm just so used to like moving around and like change like that. It doesn't scare me at all. Like, I think he'll be fine. I think he's going to be good. so Yeah, that's exciting. I'm the same way too. Like I think- I mean, there are obviously people I still want to stay like close with and I think we'll see all the time. But I think some new friends and like new faces and new energy is always like welcome and good. Yeah, and it grows your community. like That's why what I liked about moving away was like making new friends and then moving here and making friends. So it just like grows your circle. and then you can kind of combine friends. And I just really like doing that. So i think it'll be good. And then we can meet their friends and then we can all hang out and they probably all live in the same neighborhoods. And it's going to be just nice to finally meet people around us.

Speaker: Yeah, totally. so I'm excited. Exciting. Yeah. i'm It's going to be a good year. I'm really excited. i feel, i don't know. I just feel like more stable Like this year is going to feel more stable than any year in the past. sure yeah Um, just counting down the seconds counting down.

Speaker: I'm not because then the roads get crowded again. I'm like, dang, I have to go well stay and school and I'm so annoyed. I do. That is true for us too. Like we have a school like literally within walking distance of our house and like to get out of our neighborhood if I leave and I'm going to have to like Alice has to be at school absolutely no later than 750. So we're going to start like Alice's old school started at 830 and you couldn't bring them early. Like 830 was the drop off. So we are leaving like around the same time as like the school's

Speaker: you know Oh, yeah. So that's going to be a new adventure for us. but Oh, god i yeah i Our drive to daycare, we pass an elementary school, and it's like also getting on the highway to go downtown Nashville. So it's like a one-two punch right there. it's like It is bad when schools start back up. It's horrible. so Yeah.

Speaker: Not looking forward to that, but next year we're going to be – going in the opposite direction. They're going to, my kids will be in the opposite direction. Oh, damn. Cool. It's okay. You'll cross that bridge when you get there. It's fine. it's totally fine.

Speaker: And you're in like in the same boat as me, like, o my husband can't help me. I know. Yeah. Vinny is like, Vinny can't help me. I'll be a road warrior in the morning. Yeah. Same.

Speaker: Same. Unless he rides the bus, which I don't know how I feel about that. i i wrote it in the garden. But this is a big topic of conversation in my due date group about bus riding because there's a lot of kids in my due date group starting like VPK where like there is a bus option. Like even for four year olds, there's a bus option.

Speaker: And so that's been a topic of conversation of if they're, if your kid's riding the bus and like what that looks like, if, and yeah. Yeah. Well, our neighbors, they live like two houses down from us and they have older elementary school kids. I know they ride it because it comes by kind of late, and but it drops off like after 4.30. feel like that's late. to Like, how long is this school? How long are you riding on the bus? And i will say, like, I rode it from kindergarten through freshman year.

Speaker: I learned some things. I'm not ready for that for him. ah Yeah. Yeah. that's like That was the the conversation that was being had, i think, was like... Well, I think about like the my son would be riding with um my nephews because they're 10 and I'm like, no. yeah ah you know No, no.

Speaker: yeah, yeah. That is, yeah, that's crazy. We don't have like where Alice goes school. Like there's no bus situation. So like I don't, I won't ever have to deal with that. But that's a, it's a, yeah, that's a thing.

Speaker: I don't know. So we'll see how that goes. And if I'll ever have to do I'm like, maybe like we'll have, I'll make mom friends that we can all like carpool and take turns or something like I pick up or whatever. But I'd rather do drop off. I think someone else can pick them up. Yeah. you know I don't know. Yeah.

Speaker: I'm a morning mom. Yeah. See, i'm I'm probably an opposite. say I'm an afternoon mom. I'm not leaving earlier to pick someone else's kids up. We could have coordinated this. This would have been really good for us. It really would have been good for us.

Speaker: I would have loved that. I'm trying to think if there's anything else. I wish I had a potty training update, but the truth is like, I just haven't. Period. I haven't. um My summer has been so glorious with them both potty trained.

Speaker: Yeah. I always said I'd do it before school, but now we're two weeks away and I'm like, am I? I don't know. i mean, you'd be doing it early. at Margot was... two and a half, maybe more. Yeah. We're not even two and a half yet. So I thought, I think that's another reason Alice was potty trained very early. So that's, I think where the pressure is coming from. I just, I'm like, Oh, before Alice started her twos program, like she was already potty trained, which like, but I know I've thought about that first weekend before school starts like that to try it.

Speaker: But I'll be honest, like I've done ah the most half-assed try you've ever – like I'll be like, do you want to sit on the potty? And she'll say yes, and she just sits there and doesn't do anything. And I'm just kind of like, all right, I don't have time to sit here, so like let's get up, um which is not good thinking. But it's just – so I feel like we may need a naked weekend or something. I don't know. I got, she just doesn't seem as like, she's not catching on as like Alice did and maybe she's just not ready and I need to just like be okay with that.

Speaker: Well, and Margo was like hesitant at first and then yeah she finally did somehow, some way, I don't know. Thank you school. But, um, she, I felt like grading caught on quicker Margo, but Margo couldn't.

Speaker: grasp the concept quicker like grade was willing margo wasn't but she got it like boom yeah yeah and he still had issues for a while even like transitioning to a new class and not wanting to pee or poop in front of a different teacher like it became an issue and he would hold it so i don't know yeah I feel like boys are like that too. Like, yeah. And he's just like such a first kid. Like he doesn't want to do anything for himself. Like he always just will rely on us and like won't learn on his own. And Margo like learns on her own and she can like do things just as quick as Graydon. And I'm like, okay. Yeah. yeah yeah All right.

Speaker: I don't know. Yeah. Well, so stay tuned for that. I'll let you guys know next time if I make an attempt or anything. But right now, I'm just kind of riding. Well, it's not happening this weekend, baby. It's not happening this weekend. I'm going to be in a diaper, okay? yeah She is. She's going to be in a diaper.

Speaker: um Okay. What else did I have to talk about? I feel like that was it. It was more like update on the school stuff. know Sounds great. for anyone That's great.

Speaker: Yeah, same. I'm excited to be back. We have a lot of upcoming guests that we are working on currently. We're also, I'm going literally post this today, but I'm going talk about it right here. We are bringing back the motherly advice episodes. So I'm going to post the link to that form today, which obviously is not, you're hearing this much later than today, but We would like to have that be like a recurring episode, like maybe every other month or something. um So i will post that. um And that is for kind of like advice. Definitely not for like product recommendations or like what stroller do you use? That's not for that. This is like more complex stuff.

Speaker: advice that you would like to hear from your mom besties. So, um, yeah, we definitely submit for that. Yeah. And I had so much fun, um, on the stories the other week, like answering questions. I hadn't done that so long. i was like, I know we got to bring that back. I love getting questions from everybody. It's like, yeah.

Speaker: <unk> know. Easy breezy to talk about. Yeah. I agree. i agree. All right. Well, I love you guys so much. So happy to be back with renewed, fresh energy, fall energy for Whitney, summer energy for Candice.

Speaker: We're back. Yeah. and we'll see you guys soon. Love ya. Love ya. Thank you so much for being a part of our mom group chat. New episodes drop every Tuesday.
