Speaker: My favorite Cuban. um That's funny. I like randomly just got a text. This is so random. Did you know like Nashville has like a 911 Nashville or whatever?
Speaker: It's like a show. Oh, oh yes. I did know that. I didn't that. Sorry. Yes. And they, they like film all over Nashville. And so my friend just, my like coworker just texted her like our group.
Speaker: And was like, I just got the most interesting call from the leasing agent that they. from so From the street. picked her apartment and they're like, hey, can we use your apartment to film a scene from your balcony?
Speaker: Wait, I would be like, ah like I'd be so excited. I know, isn't that kind of random? Any sort of like, like I want to be an extra. I want to be famous. Like literally use me, use my things. I will do whatever you want.
Speaker: I'm sure she'll be in the background of like something, but like. Isn't that crazy that they can just do... anything I think of that as like filming in New York, how you would see like Sex and the City being filmed, like how cool that would have been. or I feel like people see stuff all the time. I was going to say, I saw things being filmed all the time when I lived in New York. I saw Homeland. I saw movies. we saw I saw things all the time. and then When.
Speaker: Jay -Z and Beyonce were on their On The Run tour. was when i lived in astoria which is where the like studios are like kaufman i think it's kaufman studios and i remember they had the whole street blocked off and i was walking to my normal coffee shop in Astoria. And I was like, what's I stopped and asked the cop because I'm a nosy motherfucker. And I was like, what's happening here?
Speaker: And. Jay -Z and Beyonce were. rehearsing at the studio because they couldn't rehearse at MetLife or something because that's what the thing was. So I was like, whoa, so cool. And that was like within my first six months of living there. So, you know, everything was cool. Because I was a brand new New Yorker.

Speaker: Nashville. in Miami. I feel like a lot of celebs are in Miami. But the... but the thing with New York and l LA is those places are so big and have so many people that.
Speaker: It's like it's ah it feels fewer and far between than Nashville. That's like a little bit smaller and I think has more of like a. tight -knit community feel that like it's almost like there's more celebrities it feels like there's more celebrities in Nashville because we don't be bothering them it's like we see you We're not going to bother you. It's funny like I have such different feelings about Beyonce versus Taylor Swift like even though I feel like they're equal fame kind of like if I saw Taylor in person I would be like my girl we're besties like I would be so starstruck but I would be like.

Speaker: I hear myself. saying that more lately. i I had this moment being there where I was like. This will probably be the last like bachelorette. trip I go on like I just can't think of another person that like I would Other than Mackenzie, but like, I don't know if that's.

Speaker: A good, good old time. And let me tell you, I hung. I can hang, which we all do. Like, I was more fun than some of these 20 -something -year -olds, you know? She just loves tooting her bachelorette horn. Holy moly. Well...
Speaker: I mean. For good reason, okay?
Speaker: No, it was so fun. We, it honestly like we had one wild night, but the rest of it was like pretty chill and fun. I feel like is the way to do it. She did it so smart to where our wild night was Friday so that Saturday was like a recovery day. And then we just did dinner at the house like with a chef on Monday. And so like none of us were like coming home wildly hungover.
Speaker: However, Saturday morning. i Was so unwell. Like I woke up at 7 a .m. Like. shot out of bed like where am I what happened it was like one of those And what's crazy is like we were home before midnight. i think it was the same for us like because i think we went to the same place right Yeah. Well, we went to dinner. it
Speaker: oh it was litty titty it was litty titty and we got a table like it was so fun um the dj banger after banger after banger. Like they know the crowds. It was everything. Like I would hire that DJ for, for a wedding. If I were having one right now, like it was so fun.
Speaker: Candice was texting me. She's like, so like. Where's the club? is there a basement? I'm like, this isn't the Bowery electric in New York. ok Well, first of all, the fact that I asked that showed how many drinks I'd already had, because like, there are no basements in Florida. I've lived in Florida my entire fucking life. I know that there's no basements. Like, what was I thinking? First of all, you have to understand that when we got there, there was like dinner tables everywhere. I was confused. I was like,
Speaker: Where are we going to dance? But then it was crazy. Like literally these men, yeah, but like men came in from the rafters and like picked up the tables with everything on it and just like shuttled them away. Yeah.
Speaker: And then it's like. Latrelle. He's on the dance floor. e e e It was. So crazy how like just quickly it all disappeared. So.
Speaker: But I was very confused when I first got there. I was like, and the the the DJ was already going when we got there, but there was just no like space. to dance so i was confused okay okay that makes more sense because we watched everything unfold and we had eaten dinner there the night before and they kind of told us how it worked So that is...
Speaker: That made me laugh. Oh, my God. I was like. It's coming, Candace. Just wait. You've got another hour and it's about to rip. Yeah. And ah we didn't eat dinner there. We had had dinner somewhere else and then came there after. um but my god it was so fun and when we got there though like Like at dinner, I probably had three or four martinis.
Speaker: Already? Oh lord. And then. I mean, ah I was fine. i you know I can hang. I can put away some alcohol for sure. and um danced on the, we got a table. So we were like dancing on the booth. And then one of the girls was so fucking funny. We kept knocking over. Okay. So like.
Speaker: there' It's like booths on the side and there's like a half wall in between the two booths, you know? And on top of that half wall is like a big planter. With like a plant in it. And there was another like girl's.
Speaker: trip or girls party like next at the table next to us and me and marin accidentally kept knocking the planter over and over again so finally one of the girls in our party picked up the planter and was like bouncing it around above her head you know like they do the signs for the bachelorette it was so funny and we were all like crying laughing oh my god um And I honestly like.
Speaker: the next morning everyone was like candace did not want to leave and i did not i ever i was upset that like they called ubers and like i was mad like i was mad about it like i did not want to go and they said that i had ordered a dirty martini like as we were leaving and they were like candace what the Like we're leaving. Which is so, like, me coded, honestly. You and Chris. Like, Chris could stay. forever. Oh, I was ready to say, but they said.
Speaker: They said that they Like one of them went to go ask Marin a question and looked at her and asked her a question and Marin just stared at them blankly and they were like, it's time to go. but like she couldn't make words and they were like all right it's time all right um Yeah, so...
Speaker: Yeah. I don't know. It was so fun though. The beach day was so nice. We did like a beach setup to where they like set everything up for you. but wow That is worth every penny. Like we got there. like that Oh, my God. It's worth every penny. They set up chairs, umbrellas. They had floats. They had games. Snacks.
Speaker: Coolers full of ice. Coolers full of watermelon. It was like literally. Everything was sent for you. And then. Bucon, the sandwich place, delivers to the beach.
Speaker: They will bring it to your beach setup. It was crazy. So we ordered. I'm like, literally, if I close my eyes, I'm sitting on the beach eating that sandwich. Like that's where mentally I'm there. That sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had in my life. Thank you for saying that because I agree. um And really there was like 10 different things I wanted to try, but it was so hot out. I felt like I needed a cold sandwich. So I got the cold Italian.
Speaker: Oh, it was I got mine. It was insane. It was just so hot on the beach. I don't know. A hot sandwich sounded. wrong I don't know. But the cold Italian was everything I wanted and more. It was so good.
Speaker: I ate mine in the pool like oh my god Mmm. That sandwich was so good. What? yeah i'm glad y 'all got that and did you like the hotel The colony? Oh, yeah. The colony was good.
Speaker: It's it is so beautiful. I will say Swifties. itself. I feel like this is a hot take I felt like it was super overrated um good I thought it was odd like having I don't know, like the restaurant right there and then the people that are staying there.
Speaker: It's just like, whoa, this is very interesting. goldfish it was weird and i actually think yeah the setup was weird I kind of thought them. Food was mediocre, if I'm honest. I don't remember. That was the day I was hungover. so Oh, I was also hungover.
Speaker: I didn't care. I was going to say I also felt. like I was fighting for my fucking life at that table. Like I was, that was Saturday morning and. Brunch was at 11 and I was fighting for my life. Like I had was taking Zofran at the brunch table.
Speaker: um And I couldn't, I could barely eat any of my sandwich. Like I was so, I got a club sandwich there too. and Everything sounded bad. It was like one of those hangovers where like everything sounded gross and like I didn't want food. I don't know. I did get a Bloody Mary and two Coca -Colas, which I feel like was the only thing that like really helped me. Revived you, yeah. But I don't know. I thought the setup of Swifties at least...
Speaker: I had said like, I kind of wish we sat inside. It was so much cuter inside and it was cooler because it was very hot outside. And then like, you know, we went there the day before and got to explore. And so and then we sat at the bar inside and just had like champagne. And so that was very lovely. I think I would have liked that better. Yeah, I think I would have liked that better.
Speaker: pop around take pictures and then the next morning we went to brunch and I felt the same way it was hot And I sat down and I was like. Oh, my God, I feel like doo doo. And then like there's people next to you naked in their bathing suit. And you're like. Oh no.
Speaker: But I'm glad I got to like... go the day before because that was more the vibe because we were shopping that day Yeah. And it was funny. Like we were actually. so Like our plan was to do Swifties and then shop.
Speaker: and everyone was too hungover i like it was a unanimous decision everyone just wanted to go back to the house and like lay by the because our house had ah an an amazing pool and like a great outdoor space and like everyone just wanted to go back and float in the pool and like chill. Some people wanted to take a nap. Like it was.
Speaker: you know Which I was grateful for because I was fighting for my life, nor did I have any money to spend at the shopping. So it for me, it wouldn't it just would have been browsing with my eyes. Um,
Speaker: One thing that did happen though, shop speaking of shopping, is... I. you know, I had spent all last week, like getting my outfits together and like planning, like Whitney knows I was like sending her, I had to shop the day before I left, blah, blah, blah.
Speaker: I literally left for Palm Beach. and left all of the my dresses for the weekend hanging in my office here. left them at home. yeah I realized when we were already well over an hour away from Tampa and I was ah freaking out, I was like, what the fuck am I going to do? Luckily.
Speaker: One of the girls was coming the next day from Tampa. So I. connected her and Vinny and Vinny brought them to her house. The problem was she is a teacher and had to be there. She had to be at.
Speaker: like they're prepping for school to start obviously. And she had meetings and stuff until like three o 'clock. So she wasn't leaving for Palm beach on a Friday afternoon until like three 34 o 'clock, which means she wasn't getting it. And like, we were, we had dinner at seven. I was like, I know that my gold and the theme was like golden hour. So we were supposed to wear a yellow, orange, you know, like golden hour colors. And. um
Speaker: I knew my dress was not going to be here in time for that. So me and Olivia, the night we got there, I looked it up and there was a Nordstrom Rack Old Navy. TJ Maxx, like all in a row.
Speaker: And because also when I got there, like all the boutiques were closed. They closed at like five. You know? So. I it's not like I could go to like shop.
Speaker: They're so expensive. It would have been out of my price range. Anyway, I wanted to like go dress shopping No. The lowest I saw was 400.
Speaker: Yeah. And i I would have been like, I can't buy that anyway. So um we went to we went to those places. Honestly, it was one of the best Nordstrom racks I've ever been to. So shout out to the Palm Beach Nordstrom rack. If you're close to there, go check it out. I found the cutest orange dress that I like genuinely will wear all of fall. Like I can already picture myself.
Speaker: taking fall photos in that dress. It's so cute. And it's so so good. Yeah, it ended up working out and I. So. It is what it is. And ah Olivia went with me and she found stuff too. Like she shopped with me in her rack.
Speaker: Um, but still like, I've never done anything like that. I've never left anything that important behind. Like, I'm not usually someone who like, I think my. I know what happened. I know what happened. It was.
Speaker: Absolutely. pouring rain while we were packing the car to leave like monsooning. And we wanted to get on the road and we couldn't like wait for it to pass because there was no end in sight. So we just were like packing the car in the.
Speaker: monsoon rain. And. So I think that like threw me off. Like we were all soaking wet and I. I just completely forgot. I don't know. It was just craziness. so I've been there. I mean Me leaving my makeup twice.
Speaker: When I went to Tuscaloosa for the UT Alabama game, and then when I went to Palm Springs. For a work convention. That one was worse. That was... Yeah, because pumps.
Speaker: There's not that much around there, is there? we found We went to a Sephora, but then I like had to drag a friend with me to go to Sephora, which is like so annoying. I don't know. i'm like yeah I felt so bad. I had to buy a whole new thing.
Speaker: of makeup because I was around my coworkers, boys and gals. Like, ah that was awful. Thank God we got there early and I had time. but God.
Speaker: So annoying. Yeah. Oh, so but it was so fun. I like M. Happy that I don't have that like two day hangover today because it really was like Friday. I definitely still feel. Felt pretty shitty. yesterday I mean not terribly but like I definitely didn't feel normal you know so But.
Speaker: It has passed. I feel pretty good today. And. It was fun. It was so fun. i i I will say my sister -in -law really has some of the best friends. like i Everyone in that group I would have hung out with on my own. like They are just so cool and fun. and like when Literally, when we left, I texted her and I was like, you truly have some of the best friends. like i Every single person I was like, I'm obsessed with you. Like, let's hang out. Or do you live in Tampa? Let's hang out. um
Speaker: And everyone was just fun and funny, so. Yeah. It was good. It was so sweet good. And it's so funny you brought up. the age thing because at work I've started to hang out with people that are younger than me And.
Speaker: Not that it comes up a lot. but It's like I was singing Mike Jones the other day and they didn't know who that was. And I was like. It's like little things that I'm clocking. Yeah. yeah And then I got invited to a 30th birthday and I thought.
Speaker: Oh. Like you're that much younger than me. Like, okay, it's okay. And then. A comment was made that.
Speaker: I don't even remember what the comment was. But she said. i was like oh like we're best friends or something and she goes i want you to be my mom And I was like, oh. Like I'm.
Speaker: That's an insult. I would have been insulted. It was like. Okay. I'm a great one. too far too far it's just like oh god i gotta get out of here yeah So it was so fun, but I was like so ready to come home because my brain is filled with like back to school to do is like literally on Saturday at the bachelorette, I was sitting down and ordering backpacks because I was like, Oh, did you drunk order them?
Speaker: that I was not drunk because it's not a day. i was It was a hangover day, and we really we had some wine and drinks on Saturday, but for them like I didn't drink very much Saturday. No one did. um So I was like ordering backpacks and I was just like, I need to come home. I have so much to do. Literally right now I'm staring at a piece of paper that right after this, I have to go get notarized for back to school. um
Speaker: That's funny. You bring up notarizing because me and my coworker. like started joking like should we become notaries and i think we're gonna do it No. I mean, you know, I used to be. I still get texts.
Speaker: Yeah, that's how I married Zach and Joanna because I was a notary. um How do you lose it? You just don't renew it? Yeah, I just didn't renew it. It expired in like 2023 and I let it expire. But now I regret because I love being an odory and it's it's so random and such a random thing. It's literally so easy. It's so easy to do and cost like. very little.
Speaker: We joke that we think it's a pyramid scheme. No, it is. Like it is. We're like, are we part of the pyramid scheme? And then you get others to recruit and do it. Vinny always says that I should renew it and then just advertise that I'm also a travel notary and I come to people's house and you charge them like. $25 or... $50 or something. Yeah.
Speaker: travel notary i think my dad is one and then i have like a few friends that are and i'm like Let's just do it. I think you just sign this paperwork and fill out a form. And that was it. You do have to take a test. Okay.
Speaker: Or at least in Florida you do. I have no idea. Literally like you read through some things and then you take a quiz and I'm sure. I just Googled all the answers. Like, it's, you know, really outing myself here as and as a as a reliable notary back in the day.
Speaker: This time I won't cheat, okay? that's so funny um But yeah, so anyways, I just and I am feeling a little like overwhelmed by the back to school stuff like. it's It's exciting and great.
Speaker: I'm curious if you're feeling this way, though. like you know, we're starting to get all of that like back to school content online where people are talking about like back to school shopping and what they're buying and backpacks. And then I'm also seeing Because like some I didn't realize some schools went back this week. So I've been seeing some like.
Speaker: breakfast I made for my kids the on back to school morning and like. This like balloons, like balloon arches for back to school. and I have that like. pang of comparison and like mom guilt.
Speaker: Of like. oh my God, I'm not doing enough. Am I making it special enough? Am I? It does. she have the right backpack or the blah, you know?
Speaker: And I. I'm not someone that struggles with comparison that much. like I usually am pretty good about like walking myself off of that ledge, you know? Yep. But I don't know, man, something about this time and maybe it's just because it is like big girl school for Alice, but.
Speaker: I'm feeling. I don't know. I'm feeling like I'm doing too much comparing myself to other people and other moms and other content and I need to cool it.
Speaker: I just feel like the um stakes are higher of with. with all the celebration um i actually love love love so my friend victoria who i've been friends with um For over three years, she's in my due date group with Margo.
Speaker: um She actually like just posted a video on kind of like. the comparison of it all where she is someone that will be really heavy on like celebrating these things like that's what she's just good at and like her brain is wired to make make like back to school big or birthday's really big but like Just because she pours. a lot of herself into like that area doesn't mean
Speaker: that she's pouring herself into other areas. Like she's like, we order takeout like every day. Like I never cook. Whereas like maybe for yeah like you, you're like, I cook dinner every night and you do. And like your kids are going to remember that.
Speaker: that type of thing, but. I don't know. I just think like with the world of social media. It's um a lot of people will just like. put out there like what they're really good at and you want to do it too And you want to and i see why you want to do it too. Cause it's so cute and fun, but it's like.
Speaker: you might not have the time because you're pouring yourself into the other things that you're also good at, you know? Yeah. No, that's a really good, like you just, that's a good perspective shift because.
Speaker: And I love. Like I want to follow creators that call that out and like. because it is so true. Like, I mean, for me, like I, I mean, I do cook a lot, but I'm like, okay, like.
Speaker: So many of my mom friends that I like me, if I, they see me at school drop off, they're always like, Oh my God, your makeup looks so good. And I'm like, yeah. yeah You're always so put together. Like, I'm jealous of that. you're Always.
Speaker: yeah yeah like I always look put together I always have like my makeup looks good but like I'm not making my child perfect so back to school waffles you know in the morning or i was thinking this about you i thought Every time before we record, I think Candice is going to look so pretty.
Speaker: I already know it. And I always i always weigh. Do I care? Should I try or am I okay with it? Not.
Speaker: Looking as good as Candice. And I usually teeter. Kid. Candace is just going to shine. Okay. Oh my God. But it's so funny because like.
Speaker: that priority is just lower for me. and Hell, I don't know. Maybe I'm doing something else. I don't know. Totally. I mean, your house looks, your house looks like the pictures you posted over the weekend of like your house. Like my house never looks like that and probably never will. It's just not like that doesn't click for me and that's okay. But that's what I'm saying. As long as, as moms were talking about it, like then.
Speaker: We're good. You know what I mean? But I think that there's a lot of moms who post content and don't call that out. And unless you're checking yourself as someone who's ingesting content that like.
Speaker: there's a lot of different realities happening at the same time. Just like you said, your friend, Victoria, she is, she's so good at like when, like her decorations. I mean, I follow her too. So I know like her decorations for back or like last day of school. I'm like, I never would even think to do that. Like I just never would. She just has like a past of being a party player and it's just like ingrained in her brain to like celebrate those moments. And she's just.
Speaker: honestly good at it it comes very naturally for her um Whereas to like someone like you and I, we could be like, oh my God, that feels so overwhelming just because we don't, we're not used to doing stuff like that. Totally. But I also see the perspective where I know you.
Speaker: are in the influencer game. And I could yeah feel like you probably feeling like, oh my gosh, I should be doing things like this, but maybe. You know, it's just not. Your yeah brand. as much even though you are totally so like that ah Oh, thank you. I, it's funny. I have had that realization, like as someone who does like post content.
Speaker: I feel like so many of my favorite influencers I follow like posts like. you know decorate with me for my child's last day of school or like whatever and I love watching that content and then like when I'm sitting down thinking about what I'm going to create that is something I will naturally write down but then when I get to it I'm like Ah.

Speaker: Just pour. what you're good at into like your kids' lives. Like they're going to remember. the dinners that you made, they're going to remember like. oh mommy's always looks so beautiful like you know what i mean yeah or even like all that Yeah. Like maybe I didn't spend time in the morning, like, you know, doing. the decorations whatever but like my girls will come in here and sit in with me and like do my makeup with me and like I put lipstick on them and we'll do blush and so like
Speaker: When I really sit and think about it, I'm like, I'm still having special memories. They're just looked and I can't, I hope. That Alice, when she gets older, is like, oh, I have such fond memories of like doing. My mom doing her makeup. I'm sure she will. putting lipstick on me or whatever. So yeah, you're right. Thank you, Whippy. You're so right. um but as for like all the school things like
Speaker: I think it's just fun to have like a fun backpack. Like it's I'm glad yeah i'm gone I did do that. Yeah, I know. And I'm glad that you bought one that you feel like. makes you happy because I agree backpacks are I don't know it's very nostalgic to like do all that and pick out all the back to school stuff so I'm glad you got to do that but And I did order.
Speaker: With your school. and I said, I think you'll see with your school that. Everyone feels the same way. It's like, what's everyone doing? Mhm. I think I'm going to have to constantly check myself on that and be like, stop comparing yourself. There's things that.
Speaker: or you are excelling in and there are things. that Other people aren't and they're vice versa. Like there's no category. There's no single person that's excelling in every category all the time. and I gotta remember that.
Speaker: It's hard though. I mean. I don't know I always just, I, and I've talked about it 1000 times, like. My biggest comparison is like. since I was so into clothes, it's like how clothes.
Speaker: look on certain people versus me. yeah Now that I don't have like the old body, my old body, it's so hard to like. see people bounce back so quick because just that was just never me and yeah That's always just my hardest. I'm my harshest. critic that way.
Speaker: Totally. I get it. I mean, even the, like the bachelorette trip I was on this weekend, like. There was also what there was one other mom of two there. she's Marin's age, so younger than me. but I mean, she's a pilates instructor instructor she's like so her body was like insane and i'm like okay we both had two kids yeah and one of these things is not like the other you know it's like but Pilates is the answer, I think. like
Speaker: i don't I don't know what they're doing, what they're putting in their water. But I mean, i did I tell you whenever I was in Charleston? We were shopping at Monkeys of Mount Pleasant, which is my... favorite freaking store ever.
Speaker: And a Pilates studio let out. They all looked like clones of one another. All blonde. tiny bras. leggings. I was like,
Speaker: There were 20, 20 girls. And um they all... poured out and I was just like, holy crap, y 'all look great. Should I go in there and clone myself? Like, damn. Damn. It was crazy.
Speaker: This is good news for me because I. um I canceled my burn. My burn. boot camp expired at the end of July. And it was just so expensive. For the next six months, I'm going to become a Pilates girl. Okay. i'm I'm pissed. Hopefully I am.
Speaker: Hopefully I cloned myself into that because Lord knows I would like that. so um God, I feel like I had something else to say about the comparison thing and now i it's completely escaped me.
Speaker: Well, I know that you I was. been wanting to ask like how you are feeling going into this school because I know that you are like nervous with it being like And academy and... I don't know. yeah Yeah. For those of you that don't know, my my daughter is starting Catholic.
Speaker: private school. I feel like that's important to say. I still am nervous. I i am, I would say though, like I'm more excited than nervous. um Everyone we've met has been so nice and gracious and amazing, but I also am is still approaching it.
Speaker: with the with the idea that like if we get in there and it is not the right fit, like I can pivot. And that's, I don't ever want to feel stuck in something that doesn't feel like aligned or like right for us and or right for Alice. So that's still my thoughts. Like I am more excited than nervous. But I also am like.
Speaker: down to pivot if it feels like it's not right. I'm sure it'll be great. um Yeah. I just learned that. ah Maybe you talked about this. um When you were talking to your friend Hannah about schools, like...
Speaker: If you don't love the one you're in, you can apply to go to other ones that have like more open seats and they'll let you in. I didn't know that. no I didn't just think.
Speaker: That was just not an option. You were zoned for a school. You had to go there. Right. I feel like that this must be a newer thing, honestly. But yes, there's like a choice program. or I guess I can only speak to Florida. but there's no guarantee that you get into it and if the schools are like highly uh coveted then like obviously it's harder but you can like apply to get into a choice like into a choice program and be placed in a school that you're technically not zoned for. But again.
Speaker: I went to Catholic school my whole life. So like, I don't know what I don't know. So I like totally missed the mark on that. And like. End. really like and All of that wouldn't happen until kindergarten anyway. Like we're choosing to start a pre -K for program like a Catholic school, but.
Speaker: She could have easily stayed at her old school and like. you know done vpk there um but Yeah. I didn't know. I feel like there's so much about the public school system that I just don't know. And no one teaches you. It's like, unless you're being proactive about researching it and like.
Speaker: understanding your options, like you're going to get left behind. You're going to miss something. I know. Makes me nervous, but. I mean, I feel like I just submit a whole new ballpark being.
Speaker: in Nashville I guess I'm not in Nashville but it feels like big city like stakes are high I don't know I'm like I don't know what I'm doing and I just hope we're making the right choice by just letting yeah B, I know that there's options to hop and I know there's great academies in Nashville, but they're really freaking hard.
Speaker: to get into. So yeah, no, I know it's, it's, it's tough. But I. I'm going to tell you the same thing. like The choice you're making now doesn't have to be the choice forever. yeah Like thats you can always pivot and there will always be options. I know.
Speaker: Dozens of people throughout my time at school who made. pivots and choices and moved and like. Switch schools and like. They were all perfectly fine. and like very well adjusted, amazing humans. You know what I mean? So it's like.
Speaker: It is what it is. I know. yeah And I'm like, is am I the way I am? Because I like stayed at my school the whole time. Oink. Most people do you jump from. I was.
Speaker: kindergarten through 12th grade. Yeah, but you say why I am the way I am. In what way do you mean? like Oh, like is moving around an option. like Oh, okay. I see what you're saying.
Speaker: That feels like trouble. But if there is like a big enough issue, obviously. I will go to the end of the earth and back to. figure out a new plan, but it just feels like.
Speaker: No, it is. I think it is. I think it is something that's like familiarity definitely has something to do with it. Because like for me, I went to the same school K through eighth and then switched for high school. And there have been so many conversations where Vinny and I have been like, oh, well, they're going to switch for high school anyway. You know what I mean? So it's like it's like we just we just default to what we know because Vinny was the same thing. He's pre -K through eighth and then switched for high school. And so. It's just funny. That's like you stick to your little what I know bubble, you know? Yeah.
Speaker: That's so funny. Well, we'll see. um I'm excited for her. I know that too.
Speaker: It'll be big changes. And I know that Evie starts school as well. So a lot of changes for y 'all. I know, but it'll be good. Like it's change I'm looking forward to like so much. So I can't wait, honestly. And today I'm going to finish out all of my school errands. I thought I had this weekend to buy school supplies. And then I got an email that was like, please bring them to you to open house on Thursday. And I was like, oh. Okay. So...
Speaker: I gotta go get some school supplies.
Speaker: Well, that'll be fun. That's like the fun part. Yeah. No, I know. But then I'm like, yeah, I got to I'm going to wait till Alice can go with me. Like I was going to go. I was like, maybe I'll just go to Target today and buy them. And I was like, I feel like one of my favorite things is shopping for school supplies. Like, I feel like I need her with me, you know, i have to tell me, like, what's the cute stuff at Target? Because obviously Lisa Frank was huge. yeah back in the day. Now do people just like put stickers all over?
Speaker: regular binders like i think it changes By grade, like I think like Love Shack fancy stuff, like super girly, like bows and stuff is like so popular with like middle school.
Speaker: Like. early high schoolers. kid I don't know what's... like do little ones. I feel like Alice is still so into like princess unicorns, you know? Which, that's cute. I don't i mean, it's giving Lisa Frank, you know? It is. It is. I love it.
Speaker: um It's so funny because Margot's birthday is coming up. and I was. For some reason on my TikTok. old nostalgic like 1990 to 1995 toy magazines popped up and I was thinking in my head Margo loves baby dolls so much and I hated them growing up like I didn't play with them and then when this TikTok thing popped up and it showed all the magazine ads
Speaker: I was like, no wonder. i didn't fucking like them the babies were scary af back in the day and i was like none of these are cute like today they're so cute like the madam acts like the american girl dolls are so cute and i looked at i'm like all we had was like cabbage patch and these scary ass babies i said no wonder like everything is so much cuter now and i'm like i'm into it that' Anyway, that's so random.
Speaker: i was I was into baby dolls when I was little. But I... Yeah. But I, get I totally see like now that like their eyes are cute and like, don't you feel like they're. Yeah. They're just cuter. I'm like, yeah. they were so And I was like only into Barbies and like Lisa Frank because it was fun colors and like. they were cute Not anymore, y 'all. I mean, not back then. wo Not into it.
Speaker: But anyway. It'll be interesting. I think school time is like the first time that I will start to like gauge interest of like. What's. what the, what the kiddos are talking about. Like, yes. Cause like, do you feel that way about daycare? Like. They.
Speaker: i don't know like i feel like is this like is alice gonna come home and start being like I really want this. So and so at school has this. Because, like, that's not really happening. Graydon does, but it's, like, about monster trucks and, like, swords. Like, toys? Or, like... um different kinds of pajamas like he wants minecraft pajamas he's never seen or heard of that before but he knows what that is because of friends

Speaker: What I'm good at is different than what someone else is good at, and it doesn't mean that I'm failing. I needed to hear that. And it also just like reminds me like. Two of my very best friends in Rhode Island used to say, like, if you ever think something, say it because it might make someone's day.
Speaker: And. I just need to like be more mindful to like. If I'm thinking. Like you look amazing today. Like I just need to like just say it Because it could like just be a bright spot in your day. And I need to do that for everyone. And even my spouse, my kids, if they're doing something good. like I just need to remember to just say it.
